It's going well enough, Anon! I finally got around to this! Sorry it took me so long, I've been having a hard time doing things. But never mind that! Here's a mixed bag of headcanons!

Medic can make a killer hot chocolate. The only issue being, he will NOT elaborate on why he's so happy and eager to make you one.. He'll hand you the most beautifully decorated hot chocolate, but he stares at you with the most terrifying smile, staring through your soul. You should drink it, though, what's the worst that can happen.

Speaking of Medic. This man would be a menace at Diner Dash. I can not explain. He'd just be so good at it. Put him in endless mode, and he'd play it for hours, you could not get him to put it down.

Speaking of video games, Scout is insane at Mario Kart. He will kill you on Rainbow Road, you will not win against him, he's a maniac. He mains Peach. Also, funny enough, even though he has so many siblings, none of them would play Mario Kart with him. He may have teared up because Pyro asked to play with him.

You know what, I'll just drop everyone's Mario Kart mains and their second option with no explanations!

Demo would main Yoshi, Dry Bones being his second

Engie would pick Daisy, dying on this kill. Um, as a second pick I get Lakitu vibes.

Heavy would choose Bowser, Luigi being his second

Medic switches between the princesses, but mainly Rosalina, King Boo being his second.

Scout is a Peach main ONLY, if he is alone! (One time, he messed up and picked Peach before anyone else could and was very embarrassed.) If he's playing with others, he picks Mario, Larry being his second.

Sniper doesn't care. He'd probably let someone else pick for him. He normally gets a princess character, but he doesn't mind.

Spy is always picking rose gold Peach, regardless of Scout's mocking. He doesn't need a second pick because he'll get pissy about it.

Soldier doesn't have a set main, but I feel like he'd pick any of Bowser's kids.

Pyro is a Shy Guy main, and I am so normal about it, Bowser Jr. Is its second pick.

None of them really fight over mains though, the all normally get the character they want.

Totally away from all of that. I think Spy listens to classical music, and Scout also likes classical music so one time, Scout heard it from Spy's room and just came in, starting to make fun of him, but ended up just... sitting with Spy. I think a lot of their bonding is nonverbal.

Hey, I'm doing another speaking of bit, Spy has a habit of showing up at the exact moment someone needs something, with the item. Medic needs a coffee? Oh well, Spy just happened to be there with one. Scout's looking for something? Spy just found it! How strange. He always acts like its such an inconvenience, this is the only way he can show love.

Scout, Sniper, Medic, and Soldier all have sensory and texture issues.

Scout will gag at the thought of eating puddings and jellos and can't stand flashing lights. Sniper hates bright lights and hates the texture of anything slimy. Medic is overwhelmed by noises in crowds and can't stand sticky foods. Soldier has issues with fabrics and tags and can't stand soft/smooth.

Scout once ran out of Bonk, Medic offered him a tea. Medic and Scout drink tea together when one of them has a bad day.

Engie collects rocks. He's just always been a fan. Sometimes, he'll sit outside the base, looking at the ground just searching for pretty rocks. He's given some to Pyro before, and now Pyro goes and sits with him sometimes.

Sniper's happiest moments in life are genuinely sitting in a dark room, not talking, just sitting with someone he cares about. He finds the presence of someone more comforting than words.

give me Luigi being a good stepdad to all his Koopa children, but specifically having a close and deep bond with his only daughter Wendy.

give me Bowser being a little lost when it comes to Wendy.

Luigi has canonically dressed up as Peach before, and the fandom seems so fond of having Luigi be comfortable with dressing feminine (or at least trying it out). Wendy is definitely a headstrong girl, unafraid to fight in her father's army, but she is also the only girl in her family. Kammy can only be there for her so much.

show me Luigi wearing dresses to events so that Wendy isn't alone and feels more comfortable. show me Wendy using Luigi as her way to practice makeup. show me Wendy being comfortable ranting about something fashion related, Bowser being absolutely lost, and watching in shock as Luigi effortlessly matches her knowledge and enthusiasm. give me Bowser asking Luigi for help in this area because he doesn't want to miss out on bonding with his only daughter this way.

Wendy dragging out Luigi to go shopping. Luigi helping the other Koopalings understand their sister better. Sleepovers in the Mushroom Kingdom with Peach, Daisy, and Toadette. Luigi telling her of his crossdressing/drag adventures, and that everything he knows comes from Peach. Wendy gifting Luigi makeup for his birthday with glee in her eyes.

i feel like they could have such a special relationship and i haven't seen it explored very much yet. such explorations could and also should happen for all other koopalings but just... gaaaaaaah give me Good Stepdad Luigi bonding with his daughter goddangit.

i might just write smth small myself later today but the thought of them just makes my heart warm and happy ;w;

A/N: I would love too! Here you go :) Did a concept so I hope you don't mind! Let me know how you all feel about Super Mario World yanderes as they are a bit strange to write at times lol!

Yandere! Princess Peach with Ruler! Darling

Pairing: Romantic/Platonic

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Manipulation, Deception, Drugging, Kidnapping, Delusional behavior, Trauma mentioned, Dark content, Dubious companionship but leans romantic.

I'd imagine when it comes to rulers, the topic of alliances often comes up.

It's also not new in this universe for different kingdoms to exist, since I'm pretty sure people like Daisy, Rosalina, and Bowser count as rulers and that's not even all of them.

It would make sense if you also ruled over your own people.

Plus, the Mushroom Kingdom is one of the most well known kingdoms.

You probably decided to create an alliance with them, or maybe Peach contacted you due to her issues with Bowser.

Either way your first meeting with Peach is most likely via a royal meeting or something similar.

At first your feelings towards each other is professional.

At least... it's professional to you.

The meeting was called as it's believed your kingdom and the Mushroom Kingdom can benefit from each other in an alliance.

Peach is rather extroverted and sociable.

Through the entire meeting she talks to you in a sweet yet polite tone and speaking with the princess is a pleasurable experience.

Although, here's the yandere behavior I pulled for her from a request I did awhile ago;

Peach would be Manipulative, Caring, Obsessive, Delusional, Patient, Protective, yet Temperamental at times.

She's the type where you have no idea she's anything darker beneath all the pink and happy smiles.

She'd be the type to manipulate things behind the scenes, distracting you with a pretty face until it's too late.

Even when she has you in her grasp, your little room/cage would be just as pink as the rest of her.

She's that kind of yan, pretty and cutesy even as she does things out of character.

Peach would be charismatic with a ruler darling.

When she talks to you she just seems so agreeable.

To be fair her obsession starts when she meets you, it acts rather quickly.

But you won't know about it until much later.

Which means you won't regret the alliance until it's fully situated.

Peach would be one to often invite you to her castle.

Similar to Mario and Luigi, she invites you to a cake party to chat.

It's usually always alone but she invites the two brothers just to have you accustomed to them.

Your kingdom often sends soldiers to help against Bowser, that's primarily your alliance.

Peach is certainly a yandere who'd be hard to tell.

Nothing about her really screams yandere.

She just appears to be a fellow rule and friend.

She appears to just be close to you, sure she can feel demanding at times, but nothing too bad... right?

Honestly by the time something bad happens she'll already have you in your own personal room with the door locked.

With a smile Peach would drug your cake and allow you to enjoy.

Only for you to wake up somewhere with blindingly pink and white walls.

Peach can be temperamental which would make her jealous rather easily.

She tries to hide how much she hates others speaking with you.

Regardless on if she sees you as just a friend/ally or more, she feels there's only one way to keep you to herself.

Don't worry, the room you'll wake up in is big and comfy.

Perhaps all the times she was kidnapped has gotten to her.

She knows you don't deserve a cage like she was given.

You deserve a soft room, warm meals, and lots of affection....

She'll happily give you all you deserve with a smile!

She'll dress you in clothing with mushroom designs, covered in pink to match her.

She never tells anyone but maybe Toad, her servant, about the truth.

Your kingdom is told that you now live with Peach.

Which would mean they need a new ruler... but Peach can take care of that too, right?

She tells Mario and Luigi that you're just busy when they ask about you, always looking the door to your room.

Even the restraints she gives you are soft to prevent you escaping.

Peach plans to remove all personal autonomy from you.

Ironically she feels like a nicer Bowser.

Again, their past may have something to do with it.

But Peach throws a fit when you compare her to the beast.

She's so much better than him.

He'd throw you into cage like he did with her!

Here... in such a comfortable room... she thinks you'll be much happier.

She'll take good care of you...

All while you regret ever accepting her words and falling for her deception.

Oooohhh I'm glad you asked me this question!!! 😁😁😁 I could totally share a lecture on why Luigi is the best character to ever exist, sooooo... I hope you realize that you've awaken the beast 😂😂😂

I don't like Luigi only because he's cute. He is cute, anyone who looks at him can see that, and I love it indeed, but my love for him goes beyond. He's also a kind and gentle person, always willing to help the others, and he's extremely sweet, especially with his loved ones (his bro, his bestie and his partner/s).

He's very supportive: if you ever need some self-confidence or a little push to encourage you to take the step of doing something, he's definitely gonna be there to show how he believes in you and to cheer on you during the process! 💪

He also has great emotional intelligence. That's something @kelbreyworshipper talked about on this post, and I honestly couldn't agree more. I love how he's always there to listen to his loved ones and offer the emotional support they need when they're feeling down, and this is something that's also seen in the movie. I love that side of him because it shows that emotions are very important for him and that he's never going to invalidate yours.

Also, he's so clumsy and anxious that he's very relatable to me! I'm clumsiness personified, and I've been living with anxiety for way too many years now, so I totally get how he feels. And, not gonna lie, it's kind of a relief to see there's more people out there who's going through the same stuff as me, especially being a very famous and loved character as Luigi. Makes me see that I'm not alone and that I'm not hard to love, and that I deserve to be loved just the way I am, like him 🥰

And also: social anxiety. Yikes, I get that too, as well as Luigi, so, again, another thing that makes him relatable! You see how awkward he gets in this post by @jell-o101? That, actually, is me 😅 And he can be so silly as well, like we saw in the movie. I'll never forget the phone scene with Spike 🤭

He's also very soft, for he gets emotional very easily, and is not ashamed to cry or to show his feelings in any way he can. That, I believe, is one of his biggest strengths, for not everyone is able to show themselves being vulnerable, or sad, or scared, and he has no shame nor regret to do so! I personally believe that's quite admirable!

And, of course, he's also strong in other ways! When he loves, he loves so hard and deeply that he'd do literally anything to keep his beloved ones safe and sound, and also happy and taken care of. Luigi is the kind of man that will be by your side in your lowest moments, but will also make sure to defend and protect you when needed. And it doesn't mean he doesn't believe in you: it means that he loves you so much that the protective instinct simply hits in.

This relates directly with his bravery. Many people to this day keep calling Luigi a coward, and it makes me mad because, like, are we talking about the same character? The one that got into a mansion full of ghosts, his biggest fear, to save his beloved big brother? The one that stood in the way of Bowser's fire with a manhole cover to, again, save his big brother's life? You call this cowardice??? 👇

Honestly, I'd like to see those people getting into a place full of the thing they fear the most, or facing fire after they've been about to die in a lava pit. If this isn't bravery in its pure form, I don't know what is 🤷‍♀️

So yeah, Luigi is just as brave as Mario! He simply has a different way to deal with dangerous or stressful situations, but you can bet that, if his brother's life is in danger, he's gonna be the very first one to run to his aid. And the same applies to Peach, Daisy and basically anyone, since, as I said, he's always there to help anyone who needs it.

And I know the Paper Mario series is a spin off, but if I may add, I also LOVE how extremely sassy Paper Luigi can be! 😁 And also very brave, like in other games, and soooo supportive of his big brother!

That's also something that I love about him. Everything I've said about him always wanting to help, and to make sure that the ones he loves are fine, and playing the emotional support role? I especially MELT when this is applied to Mario. We all know the deep and pure bond these brothers share, and while Mario's way of showing his love for his little sibling is mostly protecting him (among other things), Luigi's way of doing so is mostly being by his brother's side, believing in him, supporting him no matter what, listening to him when Mario needs to vent... He's an AMAZING little brother and I LOVE how he openly shows that he loves his brother just as Mario does with him 🥹

And the same applies when it comes to his bravery and to his sassy side, for Luigi shows that he feels extremely comfortable around Mario, like he can totally and openly be himself, which he does in the scene that I mentioned with Spike. And also teasing Mario and being prone to physical touch with him as another way of showing his love 🤭

Also, the fact that he gets scared very easily also makes him relatable to me 🤭 Though I have to say, seeing the many dangerous situations these characters are exposed to in both games and movie, I personally think Luigi has the most normal and relatable reaction. I mean, I believe the first thing most of us would think of when seeing our lives threatened would be to run and get to safety, and then maybe try to come up with a plan or something.

Which is actually something Luigi is very good at! While Mario's reaction would be to jump into danger (and we love him for that), Luigi would rather get himself to safety first, trying his best to survive, and then find a strategy to deal with the problem. He's a think-first, act-later kind of man, unlike Mario, which is why the two balance each other so well. Those are their strengths and what make them work perfectly well as a team.

So this is it! I imagined this would get long, which is why I didn't get to answer yesterday when I saw the ask, and I'm sorry about that, but I really hope it was worth the wait, @luigi1o27632! 🥰

I feel like if Daisy and Luigi ever had kiddos if their own, Mario would not only be the best uncle ever but would be so proud. I can see him looking at those kids and seeing himself and Luigi when they’d been kids. Like the level of happiness Mario would feel just by being an uncle alone makes me smile.

Mario being incredibly fond of children and being a total natural with those is honestly one of my favorite headcanons of all time, and I love picturing him sometimes reminiscing about his and Luigi's childhood as well. 🥰 I have written down so many ideas for potential flashbacks, visiting the earlier part of their lives is something that always gives me inspiration.

Even though I don't actively picture either of the bros having kids of their own per say (especially Luigi, who I've started seeing more and more as aroace in my art 👀😅), I must admit it's a truly adorable concept to imagine and I'm sure that Mario would be overjoyed to be an uncle! ^-^ 💖

I like to think that basically every single child in his periphery would call him by that term of endearment, and that wherever he'd go, there would always be a small flock of younglings at his heels happily skipping and bounding along, asking him to play with them. 🤭😁

Luigi's harem (yes again), marriage proposal.

*Cracks knuckles* here we go! Daisy: Luigi can propose to her and do the traditional one-knee, will you marry me show but it's also very possible for Daisy to be the one to propose. Luigi wants to get married to her but is really hesitant because he wants her to be ready for marriage too and she's royal so it might become more complicated for him. Daisy ends up getting too impatient and it's very obvious he wants to marry her (even though he tried to hide it) so she takes matters into her own hands and plans it all. She asks Mario for some advice and help, Peach joining in to make it more romantic. I think they would have a fun day out, nothing out of the ordinary, maybe playing a sport or two, eat out at a restaurant they like to go to and just have an lovely date, only for her to pull out a ring and ask him to marry her. These two are people who, as much as they like adventure, also like the simple and sweet moments of life, so a calm proposal after a lovely date would work perfectly for them both.

Peasley: He would make it as grand as his love for Luigi, full of flowers, with the important people present to witness this amazing scene, and he rehearsed the entire thing for months, only stopping because his mother forced him too. He was very much nervous but was able to hide it with his usual charm, but grew more excited the closer the moment came and it was so much better than he could have hoped for. To see the shock and teary eyes of his love as he said yes to his proposal, was a memory he'd cherish till the end of his days. A party was held right after the proposal and the two spent the night with each other as fiancés.

Dreambert: I think Dreambert would end up blurting it out after months of having the urge to do it but being too nervous to actually say it. It'd be while they are stargazing, perhaps having an isolated night-time picnic in Somnom Woods, ready to fall asleep as they talk and he had no energy to feel nervous while being sleepy and full of love for the human he's cuddling with. He'll be filled with a calm joy at hearing Luigi say yes and they'd fall asleep together, ready to start the next day as fiancés instead of just boyfriends, starting a new chapter of their lives together.

Bowser: Bowser would do a proposal the way he does everything else, impulsively and chaotically, pulling out all schemes to get the best items needed for the proposal, especially the ring, he'll ensure it is a day to be remembered, which means the wedding will somehow be even more grand and unforgettable. Unless Luigi insists he holds back, no promises that it'll succeed.

King Boo: this dude has more than enough money to spare, and best believe he'll spend it on this special occasion. Not before some good scares and a game of cat and mouse, those are important now. If they are actually together and in an actually happy relationship, the those scares are simple fun, it's not as severe as before, but they both knew they'd miss it if they stopped all together. King Boo would hand pick the best emerald to ever exist and pay as much as needed to tailor the perfect ring for his love, deciding to do it the old-fashioned way of taking Luigi to a candle-lit dinner and proposing under the moonlight, the boos doing anything they possibly can to make it the best proposal known to man. But if we go in the bitter ex route where King Boo wants Luigi back, he'd use the proposal as a way of bargaining, Luigi's hand in marriage even after death for his friends and family's freedom. This again has two routes, one being that Luigi defeatedly accepts so this can all end for good and with his friends begging him to not do it for their sakes but the deal is done. The second route is that he refuses and the final battle ensues but this time, King Boo wins in a sense. Luigi does manage to get the others free and to safety but this time King Boo didn't focus too much on them and manages to capture Luigi, putting the ring on his finger and taking him away where his friends won't be able to follow, keeping him forever.

Antasma: Like Dreambert, it will mostly be in an isolated area and instead of planning it, he'll wait for the perfect moment to happen on its own and use it to propose. He wants to make sure both of them are ready, when they've settled down, are sure everything around them is calm and the mood is set just right for the proposal to be made. Which works perfectly, it's not planned, it's not unique, it's not particularly special, but it's right, it's right for them and it truly feels real to them. It feels like this moment is theirs alone, like the world created this moment just for them.

Dimentio: for him, he probably talked about marriage as they got more comfortable with each other and doesn't think proposals are that special until he started imagining it for himself and being called Luigi's fiancé which got him to feel warm and fuzzy inside, igniting the excitement of later calling Luigi his husband. He made sure the proposal was the definition of magic, making it grand and magical, even making a short speech before asking Luigi to marry him, making the poor plumber flustered at seeing all these beautiful show just for him and accept the proposal. This is for the wholesome route, I got a whole other story for the darker route.

on halloween the frat has a costume party and you INSIST on wearing a matching costume with him (don't know why my first thought was luigi and daisy but yeah). his brothers tease him bc he's become such a sap but honestly he doesn't care bc all he cares about is seeing how pretty you look in your costume <3

christmas gift exchanges usually take place before winter break but he'd for sure send another gift to your home address to make sure you had something to open on christmas day :((

we all know how much this man loves christmas, you going over to the frat house in november and seeing the christmas tree already up and it not going anywhere till march and you think it's the cutest thing bc it makes him so happy and smiley!!!!

Hot take, but I don’t like the personality they’ve given Peach. She just feels like a cookie cutter tough woman character that you see in like every movie now a days. It feels like they didn’t put any heart into her. They just made her a tough woman lead and called it a day. She’s more than that you guys common!

Peach is already full of personality, why change her? She’s sassy, she’s classy, she’s emotional, she’s unique. Why changer her? Why make her dress up in armor wielding an axe to go fight Bowser? That’s not what she’s like, If anything she’d strut out there in her dress and all to go fight Bowser.

Here’s an idea you guys, keep Peach the way she is in canon. Why? Because that’s the personality she’s had for years. It would also make her much more interesting in the movie. And get this! We already love canon Peach.

Aside from that. I wasn’t a fan of the whole go-cart thing, it felt out of place for what the rest of the trailer looked like. But idk maybe it makes sense in the movie. Jeez, there’s a lot about these trailers that I don’t like-

BUT, I can say that I LOVE what they seem to be doing with Mario and Luigi. Mario reaching out and grasping Luigi’s hand, that whole scene makes me think that we might get some brotherly moments between the bros. Which I am all for!

The things I had in mind was if Mario and Luigi are in a public place, Mario would try to keep people from interacting with Luigi. Like, if someone tried to talk to them, Mario would step forward and do all the talking and answer questions on Luigi’s behalf.

If Luigi just needs some time away from all the noise. Mario will find a way to get him out of there, even if it means he needs to cause a scene to allow Luigi to escape unnoticed.

Sometimes though that doesn’t Work. Sometimes Luigi cant get away or his anxiety just keeps rising.. if that happens Mario will discreetly hold his hand, and squeeze it tightly. Just knowing that Mario is there usually keeps him calm enough that they can wait out the stressful situation and get away.

Now when they’re in private? Luigi’s anxiety is a lot easier to deal with.

Mario can openly hold Luigi’s hand and comfort him without any risk of judgmental stares. Mario can talk to him in what ever language he wants because no one can hear them. Usually Luigi just parks somewhere on like a couch or a bed, gets some water and they ride the out anxiety together.

Heh, and here Mario thinks he’s not the best brother he can be, smh.

aaaaa, they cannot use Power-ups either! In my AU only humans can use powerups. Peach and Daisy are not human, and obviously neither are the Toads-

I think if the poison Mushroom was a thing, it wouldn’t be a Power-up or anything special. Just these bright toxic Mushrooms that make anyone who eat it very sick..

I have played none of those games, and thus am unfamiliar with the villains and did not add them to my AU..😅

I’m not familiar with that.. Power-up..? I didn’t know it existed and thus, didn’t add it to my AU..

I have some ideas in mind for those actually! Although they’re not super ironed out..

The Shy guys might be this spooky tribe in the woods somewhere. They don’t work for Bowser, they just kind’a do their own thing. And I imagined that they’d be cursed, or at the very least people fear them because of all the horrors and death that seem to follow them..

The chain chomps were supposed to be giant hunks of metal, that Kamek used his powers to cast a curse on. This curse brought them to life. The curse of hunger.

The Piranha plants are supposed to be just a rather dangerous species of plant that live all over the place. But Bowser feeds the ones that grow near his kingdom. Thus making them bigger.. and bigger... and bigger. Until their roots are strong enough that they can relocate themselves where ever they want..

Also, my only tips is to use references of the real deal. Because I myself also struggle with the Koopalings/Bowser and have to heavily reference in order to get them to look right 😭

They are all Bowsers blood children in my AU. And they have no role in his army or anything like that.

My idea is that there is a hidden home/castle somewhere on Bowsers land that is guarded heavily by Blue shelled Para troopas. In this home is where his kids, Kamek and Kammy all reside. Where they are kept hidden and safe from anything or anyone that might try to harm them.

I don’t have any plans for them in this AU, although they do exist!

Daisy and Peach think the Boos are little pests. They cant actually really hurt anyone, but they love to sneak into their kingdoms and scare their civilians. Super annoying 🙄

As for if you’re not scared of them, they might be offended or upset. In which King Boo well.. he doesn’t like people makin his Boos upsetti spaghetti

XD If you tried to hug them or befriend them, I imagine King Boo would be suspicious of you and keep you at arms length. Or just trap you in a painting-

I imagine the Toads know of the Mega mushrooms and can tell them apart from regular trees.. but I doubt they would have a way to move the wild ones since they don’t have Yoshi’s anymore. So they probably have a garden of Mega Mushrooms somewhere in the kingdom just waiting to be tested on.

Buuuuut, they were saving those for another day. Assuming just by size alone, that they weren’t safe to test within Kingdom grounds.

That’s when Mario and Luigi would stumble upon one in the woods without knowing what it is and.. I think you know the rest XD

But also some of them might be flustered or surprised. If someone came in and just gushed about how cool they were, they might be inclined to show off a bit. Maybe try to make even scarier faces to look cool.

All in all, I think they’d spare you, and let you leave the Mansion unharmed out of flattery.

Ah, unfortunately Mario only gets his Tanooki abilities when he consumes the Tanooki leaf Power-up. And the form he gets is 100% the animal form. He cannot change it to be anything else.

Without the Power-up in his system, he’s just good ol Mario :/ he doesn’t get the privilege of having just the tail and ears at any point XD

(And also, if you spelled it right- yes and no. The real world animal, Tanuki, is how you spelled it. But for some reason Nintendo spelt the Power-up as “Tanooki”??)

Either they throw so many fire/ice balls that they eventually just, use up all the flowers power..

Or, they take a huge blow of physical damage, and the fire/ice flower consumes all of its remaining energy trying to protect them from the hit.

Yeah, it was pretty rough. There were two whole days where Mario was too cold to really do anything other then sleep. And even after he warmed up.. he was too exhausted to move, so he just kept sleeping.

As for the toads.. I think Toadsworth would have been pretty upset at the scientists. And he would tell them that they needed to pace their research better as to not overwork Mario.

He also probably wanted to be present for more of the testing. To insure their hero’s were being given proper treatment. You know, he wanted them to be treated like hero's who were graciously offering their bodies for scientific study. Not guinea pigs.

I don’t actually know anything about the paper Mario games.. and I didn't have intentions to bring any characters from the spin off games into the AU. Excluding well known spin off characters like Waluigi and Wario of course,

Basically, I don’t know anything about Mr L. And considering if from the paper Mario series.. he might not have a place in the AU..

I haven’t actually thought that part out yet. And I’m not sure I’ll ever find an explanation.. its as much of a mystery to me as it is to the characters I guess haha <XD ...

Writing a Bowuigi relationship analysis at work bc I have nothing better to do-

I think one of the more engaging and appealing things about Bowuigi - at least for me personally - is how lonely they both are.

The Super Mario Games Cannon makes a point to distinguish the fact that Bowser himself is a very lonely man.

Bowser has spent his entire time as a a character trying to find a partner (and a mother for his children). It's pretty easy to deduce from that that the man must be pretty lonely- especially if he's resulting to kidnapping to find a partner.

The Super Mario Fandom had decided long before Bowuigi even crossed anyone's mind that Luigi was also a very lonely man.

A lot of fan made media that revolves around Luigi focuses on the fact that Mario has Peach and Luigi has nobody. While cannon points out at some points that Luigi is not as lonely as fannon implies- he has Princess Daisy, Mario and Peach aren't 'really' an item, showcasing Mario and Luigi's brotherly bond and how they need no one but each other to be happy, etc.- cannon itself has made a few jabs at Luigi and his loneliness; the scene where Mario leaves Luigi for Peach in the hot air balloons is one that always comes to the forefront of my mind.

While this joke, and jokes like it, was written with no true meaning behind it, it has simply fanned the flames of the Super Mario Fandom's headcannon

So, with both cannon and fannon as backing, whenever I look at or interact with Bowuigi, I always see it as this beautiful story of two desperately lonely people coming together and forming a bond that transcends the bounds of societal norms (human x monster). They find love with each other, because of their loneliness, and also in spite of it.

Idk, maybe I'm projecting, or making something where there's nothing, but this has always been a cool thing for me.

I have a question to ask, and I’m not sure if it’s been asked before.

So in the Dimigi!au, after Luigi has lived his time and passed. He takes over the Underwhere rule.

A stack of papers are put before him, the stack well over the size of many mortals. This was a unique race that lived many centuries. His fingers slowly sliding across a name he hoped to never come across his desk. He dreaded this day. This was a day he never wanted to be. His heart raced, as if he was alive again, but he knew that not to be possible.

“Sir, your next judgement is here,” the Shades voice cut through the silence. Luigi’s eyes shot up quickly to the person at the door. He stood quickly, his voice getting caught up in his throat.

“It’s been a while Moonlight,” the voice sounding sweet like music, coming from the voice before him. He died still too soon for Luigi’s liking, he was still too young. Luigi walked around the desk and before he could stop himself his arms wrapped around the figure tightly and held the small frame so close. He couldn’t stop the tears from forming, his heart felt full; full of sorrow and happiness at the same time.

“Amore mío,1” Luigis voice spoke, kissing the top of the small figures head. He then pulled back just enough to lip his fingeres under the chin of the one he held, he cherished so much. Wanting to see their face once more.

The smaller figures face also had tears streaming down their face, a small smile crossing his pale skin. “So today you get to throw down the gauntlet on me. So King of the underworld, Luigi, what is your judgement of my soul?”

“Aurelo-“ his voice cracked. Luigi felt the one in his arm tremble to his true name being spoken. Tho the one before him was correct. Luigi had a hard decision to make. And he had long regretted this day. Peach was easy, so was Daisy. Bowser he had weighed, but the king did make changes in his time. But this was the hardest decision for him. Aurelo was the love of his life and afterlife. And now he had to decide what became of this ancients soul. To be damned to the underwhere forever, his soul eventually falling apart to never exist again. For all the crimes he committed. Or did he finally redeem himself after his time with Luigi and the events of the prophecy. In doing so, Dío’s soul would get to live the afterlife to the fullest, and maybe be reborn. Mario would watch over his soul until that time. But it would also mean this would be the last time he would ever see the pale ancient.

Luigi’s hand traveled from Dío’s chin to his cheek, cupping it, his own thumb rubbing the inner part of the little one’s cheek. He felt the one before him rest his head into Luigi’s hand. “I’m so tired Luigi. But I accept any judgement you give me.” The smile never leaving the ancients face. “I always belonged to you. And even in the afterlife, I am yours. No matter what you decide, it’s okay. Thank you for everything. Je vous aime,2 Gigi.”

Luigi opened his mouth one more time, he couldn’t push back his judgement again. “Aurelo, my judgement is…”

All your headcanons of the Bros as babies has made me crave content of them at all ages growing up. Being each other’s wingman when the other develops a crush. Bullies quickly learning they better not mess with Luigi or else they have Mario to deal with and they do NOT want that

Ah thank you 😊 I'm happy you like my headcanons; I gushed a lot when writing them and I know some people find that stuff strange...but I get fascinated when media portrays such a deep, beautiful, and healthy bond between characters. Especially one that is established to have developed from when they were so young...

It is a shame that we don't see them as kids, or even teens in the movie. Maybe Nintendo just didn't want to go that far yet they were still happy for Illumination to create an entire family for them... but it would've been nice to see more of Mario defending Luigi throughout their whole lives, not just as a baby and then an adult. Sorry, but in my opinion, it just adds more weight to the relationship when you see them in all stages of life.

But yes, Mario would of course get into fights with bullies picking on Luigi. More than often getting a black eye or bruised ribs. The number of times Luigi had to clean Mario's wounds, crying over how he's useless and can't even defend himself, let alone his big brother. And Mario wiping his brother's tears away and saying (with such sincerity) that he would take a hit for Luigi, because he wants to keep his little bro safe no matter what. They may be the same age, but Mario can't stand to sit by and let him get hurt or sad. That's been the vow he made since they came out the womb.

And yes, they would totally be each other's wingmen once they got old enough for dating 😉 Luigi less so, as Mario would've been a little more confident. I certainly don't see him as smooth as Danny Zuko; he would certainly need a bit of a nudge. But once he does, he asks them out straight away.

Luigi, even with all the nudging from Mario, would take about a week or two to even ask anyone out on a date. And then when Luigi eventually does, he sidles up to them shyly, places a bouquet of flowers in their hands, then blurts out "Will you go out with me?!"

Then he's halfway across the sports court before anyone else can process what he just said.

Oh! You mentioning Mario and Luigi being each other's wingmen also reminded me of this scene (one of my favourites) from the 1993 movie, when Mario helps Luigi ask Daisy out.

For context: Daisy is the princess in this movie, not Peach. And she was born in another world, but raised on Earth and became an archaeologist.

When they first meet her, and Luigi is goofing up his intro, Mario makes his hilarious reaction

And then when Luigi clearly isn't getting any further, Mario steps in

"What my brother is trying to say, is that he doesn't know what to say!"

Even though the brothers are different ages in this movie (with Mario being more the father figure) I can totally see 2023 Mario doing this! In fact I may attempt to do this as a redraw someday 👀

Then after they drop her back at the dig site, Mario feeds Luigi words to tell Daisy, so the latter can ask her out to dinner.

After they part ways with her, Mario and Luigi have this funny exchange (again, another moment I can totally see the 2023 Mario and Luigi having!)

"What would you do without your big brother?"

"I'd like to give it a shot and find out..."

"Ah come on!"

"I was just about to ask her that!"

"You weren't about to ask her nothing, you was gonna let her go!"

i’m so glad you like mela and pera! :^) (and dw, the internet’s been wonky here too)

on the backend of things i’ve used mela for a mareach kid for a few years but it’s only this year when i was actually like. designing her that i was like ‘they should have twins. something something runs in the family (on my dad’s side of the family his mom had twins and the twins also had twins) something something legendary star twin having twins’ so i trialed a few names (mainly arancia) before i settled on pera! :^)

i’ve been having the time of my life this semester (/s) so i really haven’t developed them very much unfortunately :( but that’s what asks are for! (so please send more if you’re curious!)

this is getting long so here’s a post cut

mela is the more excitable twin and comes up with a lot of ideas, but as they grew up she defaults more to pera to lead because she tends to execute them better and think of details mela would miss

though as kids pera would go along with whatever mela suggested bc she thought it was fun ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (mela was the one who proposed playing with fire, pera would probably just say ‘lets do it outside’)

i think they fully developed their own ‘firebrand’ around 3-4! but there were signs beforehand, like mela sneezing smoke as a baby and having a higher normal body temperature than pera

(but peach’s magic is so strong there was little doubt that her children would inherit her abilities, and they do end up doing so to some degree! fire just manifested early)

in terms of them as babies, they were definitely a handful but overall ‘good’ babies

once pera knew how to walk tho it was a wrap

very adventurous and loves pursuing knowledge no matter what it takes (nosy and persistent) meanwhile mela has that same curiosity but doesn’t really know what she wants. the happy hobby pursuer

we know mario has experience with younger children and babies (mallow, goombario if you squint a little, watt, yoshi kid, himself (PiT moment), olivia) and peach likely doesn’t have nearly as much but it’s still a different ball game when it’s your kid and two of them and being prince consort(? king? in my head he stayed prince consort but i like @istadris ‘s thing) but he does have a huge community so they do end up well traveled/being cared for and spoiled by many of mario’s companions, and especially so by luigi, peasley, and daisy

back to them being more grown up

mela is the oldest (and as such wears warm-reddish colors in accordance with my headcanon of mushroom world sibling pairs) so technically she’s first in line for the throne, but she doesn’t have as much of an interest in it and believes pera would be a better choice. pera (wears green tones) to her credit does show more interest so they may forgo tradition once more when the time comes but joint ruling was never out of the question

but they don’t have to worry about that for quite a while (but i think peach would do well to make sure both are prepared regardless because of her own experience)

as a pair they aren’t as joined together at the hip as mario and luigi were/are mostly because they didn’t grow up in an environment where mela or pera absolutely needed to protect the other (nor were they ever forcibly separated like the bros were in yoshis island) but they absolutely love each other and would be friends if they weren’t sisters

when they were little tho they were obviously fraternal and always wanted to look identical so they mostly dressed the same until they got to be maybe around 6-8? wide range ik but yeah

but i’m not entirely sure what the situation with bowser is like when they’re growing up but it isn’t as volatile as it currently is. the @justcallmerosey post with clementine giving me ideas tho👀
