Hey, I just wanted to point out something I realized the other day.
So we all know Luminara's name pretty much means 'glowing', right? Well her last name is Unduli, which sounds and looks a lot like the word Unduly. The definition for 'unduly' is "to an unwarranted degree; inordinately."
Conclusion?
George Lucas literally named a Jedi "So, this lady is on the light side. Like really in the light. Like why the heck does she have so much light?"
Thought you would enjoy.
😍 so this is the greatest thing to wake up to ever!💚 I did enjoy that thoroughly and please send me more info on my favorite Mirialans if you come across more because I’m forever thirsty for it.
And now everyone gets to (once again) endure my long winded rant on how much I love this woman…sorry not sorry 😁
I always knew Luminara’s name was next level beautiful with the meaning but this new information just kicks it up an extra notch 🥰 It is truly surprising how George named the Mirialans such precious names (“Glowing Light” and “Peace”….I mean come on does it get any better than that?!) only for them to get absolutely crucified in the canon story for no reason.
The meaning of both of Luminara’s names are just so perfect for her because she truly lives up to them. She, like Obi-Wan, are so deeply rooted in the light that it’s intoxicating. In the few times we see her, Luminara deals with the hardships thrown her way with such grace. She’s always thinking of others before herself (going as far as being more than willing to sacrifice herself to zombie bugs on Geonosis and face Ventress away from Ahsoka for everyone’s safety). The dark side could not touch Luminara if it tried. She always chooses the light because even in Imperial custody (which as we’ve seen in comics and games like Fallen Order, that’s a life of constant torture and pain), she never broke. Luminara died a hero, standing by her morals and Jedi beliefs until the very end, again much like Obi-Wan did when Vader struck him down.
Also by the way other characters look at her/act around her (namely Barriss, Ahsoka, and Anakin), it’s clear her goodness is infectious. Even Kanan remembers Luminara in a very positive light and immediately felt she’d be the better teacher for Ezra. Like why would Kanan want that for Ezra if she was anything but a kind and loving person?
The woman must glow like a candle within the Force because it’s so apparent in her facial expressions and voice that Luminara just radiates with warmth. Just look how smiley and soft everyone is around her! 👇🏻
Like Barriss’s whole face just lights up when Luminara is addressing her. It’s a “Yes Master, I will not let you down” expression. Clearly she is proud to be at her shoulder because I see nothing but love, admiration, and respect in that girl’s eyes💚💙
Look how excited Ahsoka is hearing what Luminara has to say (even though it was Barriss that was mentioning her accomplishment). Ahsoka is happy to have received a compliment from her that she’s even looking back at Anakin with glee on her face. It’s such a “did you hear what she said about me Master? She approves what I did!” face on top her gratitude for Anakin’s faith in her. Their previous solo mission together showed how much Ahsoka held Luminara in a high regard (like her adversity to Luminara fighting Ventress alone and her constantly checking to see if she’s overstepped any boundaries). It is evident between Ahsoka’s behavior around Luminara that she cares deeply about what the Jedi Master thinks of her.
And then there’s Anakin. The hero with no fear, the most powerful Jedi Knight of his generation, possibly ever, looks and speaks to Luminara with admiration in his eye. He is almost always complimenting her and obviously trusted her to watch over her Padawan in the past. Anakin also feels comfortable to joke and smile around her. You don’t really see Anakin being soft like that around other Masters besides Obi-Wan.
Even the way she addresses the Clones and other beings like the little robot in “Cloak of Darkness” is just so lovely. Luminara has the biggest heart and a soft spot a mile wide and yet people still wanna believe she’s the exact opposite.
In conclusion, Luminara is indeed a very luminous being, the exact kind Yoda was referring to when explaining the Force to Luke years later. She’s as close to an Angel as you can get in the Star Wars universe (as are many of the other women in that universe). Plus she’s Barriss’s mother and need I say more? 🥰
Also side note, I don’t trust anyone that can’t appreciate how precious her face is like just look at her! They had no right to make her so breathtaking! 💚
(Notice how two of them are expressions makes towards Barriss? You know…the Padawan she does in fact love very much?)
Luminara stans, feel free to add on as we must continue to spread the Luminara love in this fandom that’s just straight up unfair.

Luminara doesn't get enough credit for the good person she is.
If she were a Hogwarts teacher, she'd be Minerva McGonagall.
Her compassionate, gentle, tender, nurturing and caring sides don't get enough time to shine.

Corrie Guard Shenanigans when the GAR higher ups get plopped into the drunk tank after a rare night at 79s?
Ahhhhh I love the premise.
For now this is notes. It may well become a fic:
———
For starters they are entirely 100% professional and never ever even consider getting revenge for the way the CG are treated and referred to by the rest of the GAR.
For second, the above statement is a total lie.
If there are three things the Corrie Guard have skill with, it’s paperwork and patience and dealing with verbal abuse and that pays off.
That means processing and later discharging can take hooooooours depending on the person, or like 2 minutes if the Guard like you. General Skywalkers processing took two days once (he may be a Jedi but he’s too close to Palpatine and too fond of Palpatine to ever be on their side surely and not afraid to use that or his Jedi position to throw his weight about. Plus he’d traumatised some shinies who caught him and Senator Amidala together) Commander Cody’s took 7 hours (on Fox’s orders) as did Wolffes and Bly’s (serves them right for drinking without him). Ponds has never been thrown in the Dunk Tank, (but he’s been in the Jedi Temples one once, none of his vode know about that).
Rex’s took 10 minutes. Fox will deny having a soft spot for his little brother.
Tarkin’s release forms were mysteriously lost and not processed. Three times. (Not three separate occasions, three times on one occasion, but he definitely deserved it).
Monnk ended up there along with General Fisto and three other troopers from their squad. Their release wasn’t delayed for any malicious or opinionated reason, simply that a drunk Kit Fisto is one of the most entertaining things they’d seen in weeks and not only did they need a holo but it was free entertainment. Especially having the drunk vode with him either joining in or trying to stop them embarrassing themselves.
All funny footage gets shared but nothing private or personal. Vode are careful about things like that.
General Koon never made it to the drunk tank. Even if he went out and got drunk, he’d never make it to the tank. No matter how drunk he is (it only happened twice through the war) he’s always guided back to the Temple and taken care of. He’s just always so kind and compassionate and once he bought them chocolates and sweets and he uses the correct pronouns and asks for them. He loves the vode and he’s helping fight for their legal rights and only ever gets drunk after a mission with huge losses so it wouldn’t be fair. Wolffe was right about him being a Buir. (He gives the best hugs too).
Vos sometimes ends up in the tank despite none of the vode being able to remember putting him in there or arresting him. He comments on it being cheaper than a hotel and they decide to ignore it because it’s not going to be worth asking. Besides he may be a menace sometimes but he is usually investigating corruption or gangs and works with them sometimes. He’s also fun for an off the books anti senate bitching session.
Padawans never get logged in. They get blankets and help with the hangover but they’re cadets or shinies and that means they’re worth protecting. All Jedi are, especially when they’re in such a similar boat to the clones, but the knights and masters are old enough to suffer the consequences of their actions.
Well, almost all the Jedi have their records kept blank so the Senate can’t go after them any further after the first time the vode in the Guard realised the records were being used to punish the Jedi by limiting their access to things like food and medical supplies in the Temple.
There’s a list of Senators only the Guard have access to about which ones are treated well and which can be left for the night.
There’s also a short list of Jedi who can be mistreated because they mistreat clones. It’s a very short list though.
The Jedi who are most well known as part of the Clones Rights project all also get a free pass including Koon, Kenobi, Windu, Billaba, Luminara and Erin. They all end up back in the Temple instead of the Drunk Tank.
Hound has a group session set up for vode who have shifts with awful verbal abuse and the occasional physical attack because it’s not fair. The other vode in the GAR can be spiteful when drunk towards the CG because of the misconception that they are never at risk and never do anything being on Coruscant rather than the front lines. It’s good to have someone to talk to after an evening of people who are supposed to be your family yell hate at you and call you names.
That got kinda serious towards the end but I’ll leave you with one final fun fact.
No-one wants the shift when the 501st is docked because the tank always ends up full but the worst is actually the 21st Nova Corps.
———
Thanks for the ask this was really fun.
(The whole AU should be in the tag ‘my Corrie guard au’ if anyone wants to read more) and my inbox is open for asks. (-:

Star Wars is sorely lacking in relationships between women
In the prequel trilogy, Padme is surrounded by men. Anakin, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Palpatine, Jar Jar, Bail Organa. And one of the things I find most interesting about Padme is her relationship to her handmaid/bodyguards, which is never actually explored (I think there’s a book about this, but I haven’t read it).
In the original trilogy we’ve got Leia, who is the kickass princess we all deserve, but she’s also....surrounded by men. Now that I’m thinking about it, does she have a meaningful interaction with another woman even once in these movies??
Then we’ve got the sequel trilogy. Rey is the center and Rey is a wonderful character, but again. SHE. IS. SURROUNDED. BY. ALL. MEN. She hugs Leia at the end of TFA but they exchange no dialogue and before that hug they’ve never even met. In TLJ she doesn’t talk to Leia until the very end. Never interacts with Rose, barely at all in TROS. Rose doesn’t interact with any other woman except Leia, but even that is extremely sparse. Holdo and Leia have one (1) amazing moment in TLJ when they hold each other’s hand and say May the Force Be With You and I swoon over that moment every time. More of that please!!! For as much as they gave us an awesome (minus TROS Rey, that was a mess) heroine, it still feels like it’s only a hollow representation of what women can and should be in Star Wars. And this is not to say that Ben, Finn, Luke, Han, and Poe are not fantastic and necessary characters (especially Finn and Poe, it is great that the movies feature men of color and I truly do love their characters and wish they weren’t shoved off to the side, especially Finn) but just looking at women in Star Wars here, I wish women had meaningful relationships with other women the way men are depicted having deep and complex relationships with each other in this universe. The sequel trilogy.....just isn’t it.
The Mandalorian, same thing. I love Cara Dune with all my heart, but she doesn’t have any other women who are main characters to interact with.
The animated shows do much better. In The Clone Wars we have Ahsoka, who I would argue is the best character in all of Star Wars hands down. We get entire episodes featuring Ahsoka, exclusively developing her character and her arc, and we get amazing Ashoka team ups: Ahsoka and Padme, Ashoka and Trace and Rafa, Ahsoka and Bariss. We also have Padme, Satine, Bo-Katan, and Master Luminara, all amazing characters (although it sucks that Satine and Bo-Katan are sisters and we literally never see them interact). We even get a lady villain, Asajj Ventress, which I desperately need more of. Rebels also has wonderful women characters: Hera and Sabine. But again, most of the Ghost crew are men, and most of the other major characters in Rebels are men.
Which brings me to announcement of The Bad Batch tv series, and why I’m a little skeptical of it. If you haven’t seen TCW, The Bad Batch are a group of clones that didn’t turn out quite right. They look different than the other clones, and they have highly specialized skills that the other clones don’t have. They appear in the first few episodes of the last season of TCW. They are an entertaining group, interesting and funny, but when their arc ended on the show I wasn’t terribly upset to see them go. They aren’t a bad choice for a tv series, but....they are all men. It is a show about a group of men. I’m sure they’ll have women in this story somewhere and I’m sure they’ll be great, but you just can’t have fully realized women characters who never interact meaningfully with other women. You just can’t!!!
I want a You were my brother!/I hate you! moment, but between women. I want women of color. I want nonbinary characters and trans women. I want them to be just as interesting and complex as all the other characters in Star Wars, not placed there as tokens. I want romantic love between women, I want friendship between women, I want morally gray women, bad women, good women, Jedi women, senator and queen and emperor women. I want women who fight and women who don’t. I want women who take a stand and women who don’t know what they stand for. Women who make mistakes. Women who fall in love. Women who lean on the other women in their life and find solace there. I want heroes and I want villains. I want it all. I demand it all. We deserve to see ourselves in these stories. We deserve to tell these stories. Star Wars is for everyone and I want to see that reflected. There’s still a long way to go.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, for the asks?
Thank you! You always play along with my ask games and I have so much fun doing them!!! (Ask meme here)
OBI WAN KENOBI
1: sexuality headcanon
I waver depending on what mood I’m in. Either I think he’s panromantic/sexual, or I’m in a THE JEDI ARE ARO CULTURE mood so he’s aromantic/pansexual
2: otp
Definitely Obikin, I fell in love with these two assholes the first time I watched TCW and then I read the really super gay RotS novelization, and then I saw the actual MOVIES and ugh, they’re just soulmates. They have such an electric dynamic, they work off of each other and they’re funny and they care and they’re the most competent and deadly team in the galaxy and if they wanted to and communicated more there would be literally nothing they couldn’t do together, and it’s frustrating because you know how much they care about each other but they never manage to get on the same level and arghhhhh. Also I love the tragic lovers-to-enemies trope. ALSO ALSO OBI WAN HELPED ANAKIN BECOME A FORCE GHOST AND NOW THEY’RE LIVING TOGETHER IN THE AFTERLIFE FOR ETERNITY HECK YEA BOIIIIII
Other Obi Wan ships I have are Obianidala, Obitine, Ventrobi, Quinobi, and Codywan on occasion
3: brotp
Also him and Anakin lol, but also I really like his dynamic with Cody, so I’m torn! OBI WAN AND AHSOKA HECK YEAH WE NEEDED MORE OF THEIR ADVENTURES AND INTERACTIONS. GIVE ME AHSOKA IN THE OBI WAN SHOW OR GIVE ME DEATH. Fucking ditto for Obes and Padmé, I would have loved to see their friendship that RotS said they had. I’ve read like two or three or five of the supplementary books so there’s a lot I don’t know, but I like how the fans have written his friendship with Bail. OH SHIT I TOTALLY FORGOT HIS DYNAMIC WITH QUINLAN ALSO YES THAT PLEASE. I ALSO also love the fan canon created that Obi Wan grew up with Quinlan and Luminara both being around his age and that the three of them were friends, I think that’s super cute!!!!
4: notp
Hmmm so like. I don’t ship bash so pls know these are just what I personally don’t really vibe with, all ships are welcome on this here blog. Also this is hard because Obes is kinda the fandom’s little black dress we can ship with anyone. I guess I’d say I’m not a shipper of him with those who he doesn’t really have that much of an interesting dynamic with in canon, or I don’t see a potential dynamic with their personalities, idk? Like, I never really got into Qui Gon’s character except for him just. Being there? In TPM so I never really shipped him and Obes. Ditto for the Obi Wan and Rex ship that’s popped up and growing popular? Like, I understand that that particular ship is more about taking two handsome and good guys who deserve happiness and pairing them up so they can be happy together, but idk just, they don’t really interact that much in canon and when they do they’re kinda just... there? Again? And yeah, I just don’t really see that much of a spark between them based off of their interactions or their personalities. Idk, just my two cents. Again, no offense to those who do ship it!
5: first headcanon that pops into my head
Obi Wan Kenobi has exactly zero sense of style. I’m sorry, but he doesn’t. It’s just his dumb luck that he’s a literal supermodel who would look good in a paper bag. He doesn’t even know he looks great in red because he says it’s not his color! He’s more than happy that the standard Jedi tunics were predesigned cuz they’re comfy and in a neutral color and he never has to worry about picking out an outfit, and he does Not like getting dressed up for fancy events because he finds fancy clothing uncomfortable. The Padawan chop cut he couldn’t help because Qui Gon also has no sense of style, but the mullet he grew out was all him and again, only looks good on him because he’s Obi Wan and he’s gorgeous. The nicely styled shorter cut he has for TCW and RotS came from him deciding to cut the mullet himself when the war started so it would be easier to maintain, doing an absolutely atrocious job with it. When he runs to Luminara or Quinlan or whoever in a panic because it looks like a Nexu tried to bite his head off and caught his hair, they take the opportunity and actually give him a decent hairstyle and he figures it looks nice so he’ll keep it.
6: one way in which I relate to this character
Hmmm this is hard cuz guys Obi Wan is WAY cooler than I am. I guess we both share a love of languages and linguistics, and we like to teach little kids stuff. We also both love Anakin to death and would do almost anything for him, even when the little shit’s being a stupid-ass moron who makes awful choices and we really shouldn’t be defending for anything.
7: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character
FUCKING BALD OBI WAN DURING THE DECEPTION ARC IN SEASON FOUR. THAT THING SCARRED ME I HATE IT IT’S ATROCIOUS. Also, I... do not like the Kadavo arc, and pretty much every character in it gives me secondhand embarrassment, but I really don’t like his plotline there and it does give me secondhand embarrassment for a variety of reasons. Also, just-- that moment in RotS when he’s fighting Grievous and decides that kicking the fucking metal cyborg’s leg would be a good idea and then hurts his leg? I always wince like, my dude, what did you think was gonna happen? xD
8: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?
CINNAMON ROLL! CINNAMON ROLLLLLLL!!!!!!! Like yes I know, I know he’s not perfect, he makes a lot of mistakes and has flaws and I love him for those various flaws, but he is a genuinely good and kind CINNAMON ROLL who wants to be a good person and deserves a NAP and a HUG and NICE THINGS and ABSOLUTELY NONE OF ANAKIN’S FUCKING BULLSHIT

There´ll Be A Light In The Hall If You Ever Come Back

by Countryheart
The Clone Wars end, Chancellor Palpatine is revealed as the Sith Lord and taken down by the Jedi, the chips are found and deactivated, Order 66 never happens and the Clones are finally given the rights they deserve for all they´ve done. All is well.
So why does everything still hurt?
A deeply wounded Republic, left reeling from a war orchestrated by its own leader, desperately needs someone to blame for the all the death and chaos in the Galaxy, the deception by the Sith and the suffering across the systems. With the true perpetrator dead, it eventually sets its sight on the Jedi and turns its back on them. The Jedi themselves, exhausted by the long years of battle and hardships, don´t defend themselves while the Clones watch horrified as the ones who stood by their side throughout all the horror and bloodshed are scorned and shunned by the very thing they swore to protect.

(Just curious, are these from the same anon or do you two just think alike? Either way, good luck with your exams, hope you enjoy -- Leslie)
Lessons Learned
i.
The first time Ahsoka wakes, someone is there. There is a gentle hand resting on top of hers and a soft voice conversing quietly with the medical droid. Master Obi-Wan, she realizes. He doesn’t seem to notice that she’s awake. She doesn’t know where she is, but she is too sleepy to find out.
ii.
The second time Ahsoka wakes is perhaps an hour later, but she is alone. She hears steady beeps and breathes in the clean, airy smell of the Halls of Healing. She is home, then. She vaguely remembers riding in an ambulance-speeder.
Ahsoka sits up and her right arm thumps against her chest in a sling.
It’s strange to be alone in the Halls of Healing. It’s not that she wants her master or grandmaster to coddle her like a youngling, it’s just that they would normally be here.
Med droids come and go, but it’s almost half an hour before Master Obi-Wan appears.
“No one told me you were awake,” he whispers by way of greeting. There’s something in his body language as he sits down that makes Ahsoka nervous.
“I can’t stay long,” he adds. “But I’m glad to see that you’re okay.”
“Is it…broken?” Ahsoka asks, lifting her arm.
“Do you remember Luminara talking to you before the surgery?”
Ahsoka shook her head.
“I’m not surprised. You seemed fairly out of it,” said Obi-Wan. “You broke both bones in your wrist. They put you under and set it with some durasteel pins.”
Ahsoka nods, accepting this information. “I know I shouldn’t have chased after that shuttle,” she says with a sheepish smile. She and Anakin had chased their target all the way from the Senate building only to lose him in the chaos of the airtraffic lanes. Anakin had surprised her, and told her to let him go. Ahsoka had defied him and pursued the spy, and, evidently, injured herself in the attempt.
“Is Anakin upset with me?”
“Anakin is down the corridor,” Master Obi-Wan says slowly. “In critical condition.”
No.
iii.
Master Obi-Wan leaves again soon, full of cold politeness that makes it hard to judge whether he is angry or just tired and worried. They say he hasn’t left Anakin’s bedside since the accident except to check on Ahsoka while she was in post-op.
The horrible, twisting pit in Ahsoka’s stomach only deepens as she reads the report which Obi-Wan has already drafted for the Council. It says, among other details of the mission, that Anakin was crushed between two speeders as he flew over three lanes of airtraffic trying to reach Ahsoka. The report does not mention that Ahsoka was on top of a moving airshuttle, chasing the spy she had been explicitly ordered not to pursue. That Anakin had tried to stop her. That she had fallen from the shuttle, almost to her death.
The sensation of freefall feels like it never left. She is still trapped in desperate, tingling panic. He was trying to save me. If I had just listened—
Ahsoka is released as soon as the anesthesia has worn off, and immediately tracks down Barriss, who has been helping Master Luminara.
“They expect him to survive,” Barriss says gently.
The fact that this is an expectation, not a certainty, sends Ahsoka reeling.
Barriss tries to explain that a collapsed lung, badly bruised kidneys, or a fractured spinal disc are all survivable in isolation but combined together with significant blood loss and shock they can be dangerous, but that’s not what Ahsoka needs to hear.
She stops to lean against the wall. It’s my fault, oh Force,
“He’s only supposed to have one visitor at a time,” says Barriss uncomfortably when they reach Anakin’s room and see that Master Obi-Wan is still there.
“It’s alright, Barriss, let her in,” says Master Luminara. Obi-Wan does not acknowledge them as they enter.
Anakin is deep in a healing trance, immobilized with a neck brace and multiple casts. A tube protrudes from the lower left quadrant of his chest, draining air that escaped from his injured lung; his face is pale and bruised and obscured by an oxygen mask.
The healers are keeping a close eye on him, but there are inevitably moments when Obi-Wan and Ahsoka are alone in the room, and the silence becomes suffocating.
iv.
Once the silence is broken, it’s like floodgates have caved in.
“You’ve gone too far this time, Ahsoka. What were you thinking?”
“I didn’t think he would follow me, I’m sorry,”
“Of course he wasn’t going to stand back and watch you get killed.”
“I said sorry—“
“I was always afraid something like this would happen to him,” Obi-Wan snarls. “But I assumed he’d be the reckless idiot who brought it on himself.”
‘Idiot’ stings, and although one part of Ahsoka accepts the blow as though she deserves it, another part of her bubbles up in anger. “Master, you have no right—”
“Nope,” Luminara snaps as she enters the room, laying a hand on Ahsoka’s shoulder and steering her towards the door. “Absolutely unacceptable. If you are going to raise your voices, you may leave.”
“Thank you,” says Obi-Wan, sitting back down with a huff.
“You too, Obi-Wan,” Luminara shoots back. “You two can go argue somewhere else, or have some time apart, figure it out. We will take good care of Anakin.”
“He is my padawan,” Obi-Wan hisses.
“He’s my patient,” she counters, matching his tone.
v.
Anakin makes it through the night.
Barriss tells Ahsoka that the danger has passed, that his lung is mending and all his fractures and bruises will clear up with time. It will be a long, painful recovery. Ahsoka swallows hard.
Anakin is awake when she is allowed in. She doesn’t know what to say.
“Snips,” he gasps. He’s still on oxygen, but they’ve moved him down from the whole mask to just a nasal cannula. Although Ahsoka doesn’t see the significance, Barriss insists that’s good news.
“I’m sorry,” she says tearfully.
“What, for this?” He’s a bit spacey and not fully there, Ahsoka notices. “Forget about it. They’re giving me the good meds, I feel nothing.”
His blood oxygen level fluctuates wildly as he talks. He takes a sharp breath and it stabilizes again.
“It should have been me,” Ahsoka whispers.
“Like I would let that happen. Listen Snips, we’ve all made shitty judgement calls. This could have happened to anybody.”
“I think Master Obi-Wan hates me.”
For some reason, that makes Anakin chuckle.
vi.
Ahsoka is quite used to hearing her master curse, but the following weeks are a whole new level. Anakin’s good spirits don’t last long once the healers release him and he sets about the grueling task of getting better. Sitting up is hell on his back and neck, but then again, so is lying down and standing and pretty much just existing in general. His day is defined by when each dose of pain medication is due.
Obi-Wan is there to bring him food and help him transfer and get to the ‘fresher and back, and once Ahsoka’s wrist brace comes off she pitches in too. He finally reaches a point where he can hobble short distances, but it’s hard for him to put pressure on his spine or do anything for a prolonged time, even just standing up in the shower.
Obi-Wan isn’t home one afternoon when Ahsoka hears the water shut off in the ‘fresher, followed by a nervous call of, “Obi-Wan?”
Ahsoka follows the call to the ‘fresher door, then hesitates. “He’s not here. What is it, Master?”
“Could you come in? Don’t worry, I’m decent.”
He’s sitting leaned against the outside of the tub, wrapped in a towel.
“I’m sorry, Snips, I thought I could do it, but—” He pauses, embarrassed. “I can’t reach my arms up high enough to wash my hair. I’d wait for Obi-Wan, but I already drew the bath, and…,”
“It’s alright,” Ahsoka says quickly, trying to sound more confident that she feels. “I can help,”
“I’m sorry,” he mumbles again as Ahsoka carefully has him lean his head back under the faucet and lathers the shampoo through his hair.
“Do you need help rinsing it too?”
“No, I usually just sit under the shower head. You can go now. I’m sorry.”
“Stop apologizing, Master. I want to help.”
“You’re uncomfortable.”
There’s no point in denying that.
“If you need anything else…”
“I’ll holler. Yes, thank you.”
vii.
Anakin awkwardly shuffles into the kitchen where Ahsoka is doing homework, and sits himself down next to her.
“Obi-Wan says we need to talk about what happened,” he states.
Ahsoka almost says something snarky. It’s ironic that Obi-Wan wants them to talk when he’s barely said two words to Ahsoka in weeks.
“I really am sorry, Master. I wasn’t thinking about the consequences. I just wanted to catch him.”
“I did too. But Ahsoka, he wasn’t worth it. We both could have died.”
“I know.”
“Obi-Wan was harsh with you because he was scared that he could have lost both of us. He doesn’t say that kind of stuff because he thinks it sounds like an attachment, so he just comes off as angry.”
Ahsoka nods. Then she looks up to meet Anakin’s gaze carefully. “Are you angry with me too?”
“I was a little bit,” Anakin admits. “But I think the past few weeks have given you an up-close-and-personal look at what the costs of that kind of recklessness can be. I don’t think you’ll make this mistake again.”
“No!” Ahsoka assures him quickly.
“Then I’ve taught you something. See, I’m great at this.”
He clearly wants her to laugh, so she makes an attempt.
Ahsoka is used to her master couching uncomfortable topics in humor, but she sees that he is sincere.
“I’m sorry,” Ahsoka says. “For not listening to you, and I’m extra sorry that you got hurt.”
“You can stop saying that,”
“No I can’t.”
“I forgive you, Snips. Does that help?” Anakin pushes the table further away and reaches out to hug her. The range of movement in his arms is restricted, so she has to meet him halfway.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers again, and Anakin hugs her tighter.

Ranking Rebels: Episodes 40-31
It’s been several months now since Star Wars Rebels concluded and we learned the fates and futures of the surrogate family that lived in the halls of The Ghost. Rebellions were sparked. Sacrifices were made. There was a lot of critical theory about art. Fruit was stolen. Droids sang. Pufferpigs puffed. It made for a beautiful, if not always perfect, four year story that will become a cherished part of the Star Wars mythology.
With a new animated series on the horizon, what better time to take a look back at Rebels history. Not all episodes were created equal. For every, “World Between Worlds” there is a “Blood Sisters.” Just as I did for The Clone Wars, I plan to rank every episode of Star Wars Rebels from worst to best. As always, feedback and discussion is appreciated!
Previous Installments: 66-61, 60-51, 50-41
40. Rise of the Old Masters
youtube
After several relatively light episodes, Rebels offers its first glimpse at the danger and drama of the galaxy in “Rise of the Old Masters.” Famous for both its grim bait and switch regarding Jedi Master Luminara Unduli and for the introduction of Jason Isaac’s delightfully sinister Grand Inquisitor, the fourth episode of the series makes a tonal switch but the fun character work and sharp voice performances keep the first season’s friendly sheen intact. Ultimately, “Rise of the Old Masters” succeeds the most in how it begins to further the dynamic between Kanan and Ezra and how both of their insecurities play into their relationship of master and apprentice.
39. The Lost Commanders
youtube
When it was first revealed that Captain Rex would be returning to Star Wars Rebels, the cheers in the Celebration exhibition hall were deafening. One of the most beloved characters from The Clone Wars, Rex seemed like a natural fit for The Ghost crew’s dynamic and offered a fun connective tissue between both series and two different eras of Lucasfilm Animation. While it is relatively low on plot, “The Lost Commanders” delivers on Rex’s return (and the less successful or memorable appearances by Gregor or Wolffe) by delving into character and more specifically the complicated dynamic between Kanan and Rex. Rex respects Kanan almost out of sheer programming and for what the Jedi meant to him in wartime, and Kanan mistrusts Rex for almost the same reason and for the own painful role that clones played in his past. Freddie Prinze Jr and Dee Bradley Baker perform greatly and the lay the groundwork for one of the second season’s stronger character arcs.
38. Gathering Forces
youtube
Picking up directly where “Empire Day” let off, Rebels’ first two part story arc concludes in a fast paced and action packed showdown between the Inquisitor’s forces and Kanan and Ezra. While some of the misgivings about “Empire Day” carry over (Tseebo and his relationship with Ezra just never hits the emotional beats that the script seems to want it to), “Gathering Forces” succeeds in providing a tense conclusion to much of the first half of the season’s storylines. The lightsaber duels are well choreographed and brutal and Ezra’s unexpected turn towards the dark hits a tough emotional beat that sets up powerful stories to come.
37. Relics of the Old Republic
youtube
While “The Lost Commanders” concerned itself with familiarizing both The Ghost crew and the Rebels viewership with the clones, “Relics of the Old Republic” tests this new relationship by putting it in a sand clouded standoff between walkers. The result is visual engaging and exciting, but is again successful in how it pushes Kanan to explore his prejudice and his past. In the face of heroism and sacrifice Kanan is forced to recognize the personhood of beings he doesn’t trust and comes one step closer to reconciling with his trauma. It’s a great moment and part of what makes him one of the show’s best characters. There is also undeniable power in finally seeing an older Ahsoka and Rex reunite after so long. I’m pretty sure The Clone Wars revival could just be a series of hugs between characters and fans would be satisfied.
36. Stealth Strike
youtube
Even if Kanan did gain a grudging respect for Rex at the start of the second season, the two didn’t fully come to appreciate one another until the incredibly fun, undercover, buddy comedy that is “Stealth Strike.” While it may be uneven in tone and recalls a little too easily visual cues from classic Star Wars media, seeing Rex and Kanan go undercover as Stormtroopers to rescue their allies makes for a very fun conceit that lends itself well to character driven humor and smart action scenes. While Ezra and Zeb’s reconciliation maybe felt rushed in the first season, “Stealth Strike” offers an earned conclusion to an in-ship rivalry that feels natural and cathartic.
35. Path of the Jedi
youtube
After the traumatic events of “Gathering Forces,” the decision to step away from the action and offer an episode that is fully steeped in character and Jedi philosophy is a smart creative move that benefited Rebels greatly in its first season. Allowing the at the time seemingly convenient (Filoni really loves the long game) Jedi Temple to act as a catalyst for Kanan and Ezra to explore their fears and insecurities about exploring their future as Jedi and as mentor and pupil works well and is benefited by sharp direction by Dave Filoni. There is also a certain pleasure in hearing Frank Oz return to the role of Yoda after decades of absence.
34. The Future of the Force
youtube
While much of the story concerning Ezra, Zeb, and Kanan’s attempts to rescue Force-sensitive children from the claws of the Inquisitorius feels like an unnecessary retread of The Clone Wars’ “Children of the Force,” “The Future of the Force” delivered on something that fans were demanding for years. That something? An adult Ahsoka Tano kicking Dark-Side butt. Ahsoka Tano’s late minute rescue of a beaten Ghost Crew is the sort of thrilling character reveal that creates instant excitement and the joyfully choreographed duel that followed was a visualization of years of fandom dreaming.
33. Spark of Rebellion
youtube
Rebels arrived with high expectations and more than its fair share of skepticism. The Clone Wars had been cancelled at its creative peak and seemingly replaced with a show that in its first glimpses appeared to lack both the budget and edge of the fan favorite series. Luckily, “Spark of Rebellion” quickly assuaged fans fears. While it was still struggling to find a visual style that benefited its resources and definitely played things fast and light, writer Simon Kinberg quickly establishes a playful sense of adventure and populates it with an ensemble that by episode’s end is already starting to come into focus. It makes for a well-paced and refreshingly upbeat premiere that promised good stories to come and one can’t ask for much more out of a pilot.
32. Steps into Shadow
youtube
In the face of the events of season two’s grim finale, “Twilight of the Apprentice,” it only makes sense that Rebels would take the time to explore the emotional impact that it would have on its male leads. Kanan had lost his sight and Ezra was being tempted by the Dark Side. Both deserved time and reflection. While “Steps into Shadow” does a good job of exploring the fallout of both of these events, especially in consideration with Kanan’s unique dynamic with the mysterious Bendu, it feels like the beginning of a longer story arc for both characters. However, it would ultimately serve as the bulk of both of these storylines as both Kanan’s disability and Ezra’s flirtations with the dark would quickly fade into the background. It makes for the most frustrating aspect of Rebels’ third season and it is hard not to judge “Steps into Shadow” more harshly with this added context. However, this doesn’t fully rob what is all in all and emotionally engaging and exciting premier for a strong season of television.
31. Hera’s Heroes
youtube
Returning to the surface of Ryloth for the first time since The Clone Wars’ third season, “Hera’s Heroes” offers an intriguing story of family legacy and the importance of culture in the face of colonial/imperial regimes. While Hera’s arc here may not conclude in a manner that fully capitalizes off the rich emotional and textual landscape that writer Nicole Dubuc establishes, the personal story created is an intriguing one. Forcing Hera to reclaim a part of her past from a home that has been literally repurposed by a fascist regime carries with it its own weight, but pairing it with a character like Thrawn who sees her culture as both tool and a curiosity catapults it into even more weighty territory. It also helps that Thrawn himself is an outsider in the humano-centric ranks of the Imperial military and for once we see a snap in his cold exterior as the Empire’s xenophobia and ignorance slips through. It’s a fascinating moment and one that should have been further explored in later episodes of the series. On a different note, what happened to Cham Syndulla? This episode marks the last time that Hera’s more extremist father would make an appearance inStar Wars Rebels, which feels odd considering how it closes and also like a missed opportunity. I would have loved to see Cham and Saw Gerrera talk about their opinions of the larger Alliance.

4 - favorite character you’ve written?
Honestly, it depends on the fandom and the characters within. Though I would have to say, in no particular order, my personal favourites are:
· Luminara Unduli (Sad Mum)
· Barriss Offee (Sad Fluff Pupper)
· Anakin Trashbag Skywalker (Intergalactic GarbageDisposal Who Needs A Hug And A Kick)
· Ahsoka "Dammit Anakin" Tano (Queen,Badass, and Loyal Little Sister Who Deserves Better)
· Obi-Wan "Bad Ending" Kenobi (Sorrow's HisMiddle Name)
· Eric "NO" Slingby (Saddest Man on thePlanet… seriously)
· Grell "I DO WHAT I WANT" Sutcliff(Shark Baby)
· Sascha (CUTEST SMOL REAPER)
· Ada Wong (Actual Queen, Actual Best)
· A load of OCs, usually villains
· SW OCs because we need more of them
And I think that covers it ^^; Hopefully this answers that question :3

Proof of Luminara and Barriss’s LOVING relationship💙💚 This is a direct quote from the “The Approaching Storm” by Alan Dean Foster book taking place after Barriss performs a lightsaber dance to a tribe.
(After Barriss's lightsaber dance)
Luminara: “A fine exhibition, Barriss. But that last stunt was truly treacherous. It would make me unhappy to have to return to Cuipernam with you in less than one piece.”
Barriss: “I’ve practiced it before, Master.”
The Padawan was well pleased with herself.
Barriss:“I know it’s a dangerous move, but we do want to make as strong an impression as possible on these people so that they’ll help us.”
Luminara: “Striking off your own limb would certainly make an impression.”
Seeing the younger woman’s expression fall, Luminara reached out and gave her an encouraging hug. “I don’t mean to be overly critical. You did well. I’m proud of you.”
LADIES AND GENTS THAT IS LUMINARA AND BARRISS💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙
There’s plenty more wholesome mom/daughter content, but this passage is everything! Those two love each other and canon is failing them. But their facial expressions to each other in The Clone Wars series speak volumes as much as the fandom menance would love to forget.
Lucasfilm do us all a favor and give us the mom/daughter content Star Wars so desperately needs. Luminara and Barriss deserve better than what canon and the fandom have given to them 💙💚 Thanks for coming to my Ted talk; I will take any and all opportunities to preach about the Mirialans I love 😌

3, 16, 20, and 30 for the SW asks!
Hello there! 😊 it’s always so fun to meet more people and get asks so thank you so much for this fun☺️ Link to the OP’s (@jumpingtohyperspace) original post is down before for reference! Also a great blog for all things original trilogy 😁
3. Favorite main character
Oooooo this one is so hard! It’s like being asked to pick your favorite child and in Star Wars there are so many good ones especially since we have the prequel and original trilogy. I’m going to have to go with Obi-wan though with the Skywalker twins (Luke and Leia) being a very close second. I personally resonate with Obi-wan deeply in that I know what it’s like to lose everything over and over again and still chooses to be a good person. This man lives and breathes the Jedi code and even though he has every reason to be bitter or angry, Obi-wan still does everything in his power to help others and do good. He is compassionate even to his enemies (like Maul) and believes in people (ie Anakin and Luke) despite his trauma. His entire life is centers around respecting a loved one’s wish (like Qui-gon asking him to train Anakin and watching over Luke on Tatooine). Like how can you not love Obi-wan? Whether I see him in the prequels or in a New Hope, I just want to hug him because he deserves all the hugs for all that he’s been through 💙
16. What ship do you love the most?
I’m assuming you mean like a literal ship they use to fly so it is hands down the Jedi star fighter! Ive always loved the design and they are just as sophisticated and cool like the Jedi who fly them 💙💚💜
20. If you could have three characters that will always fight for you, who would they be? (Essentially your dream team)
Another great but difficult question because there are so many incredible characters in the Star Wars universe that I would want to fight alongside with. I’m gonna tell you what my dream team would be for both prequel era and original era to make it easier. For the prequel era, I would assemble the badass female Jedi Ive been looking up to since forever. I would go with Luminara Unduli (she’s my favorite Jedi and is basically the female Obi-wan), Ahsoka Tano (I love her and she has all of Anakin and Obi-wan’s best attributes), and Barriss Offee (I love her too and she’s a gifted force healer). And as cliche as it sounds I would definitely want the OG trio (the twins and Han) behind my back. Between Luke’s optimism, Leia’s wit, and Han’s piloting skills, we’d be unstoppable. They really are the perfect trio and I love them all so much ❤️❤️❤️
30. Would you want more stand alone films like Rogue One or TV series like the Clone Wars?
For the sake of storytelling and character development, I will always go with a series like Clone Wars. However, I think it’s extremely important that these TV series don’t waste time on frivolous stuff (squints hard at the Bad Batch and some Clone Wars/Rebels arcs). Star Wars I feel is such a massive universe so many stories to tell that I think series just work better. Besides the Clone Wars, the Mandalorian is a fantastic example of that.
