🔥 FEATURE FRIDAY 🔥 This is one of the reasons we encourage our members to take photos. It’s about feeling more confident. Seeing our hard work. Achieving the goals we set. And showing off, because we aren’t here to play small. Oh, and not using the SCALE as a form of measurement ❌ We are so excited to feature Dunnebells member Bev! Here’s what she said: “I didn't think I was going to take a holiday this year but I'm so incredibly proud I did. How I felt was so surprising. I don't have any worry or panic walking around and showing off my bikini. I am not worried about how I’ll look by the pool. I just don't have a bad feeling that I always do on holiday. It is the small moments like this that make you notice yourself and this was a big milestone for me 🥰 Like all the other ladies, I didn’t want to take the progress photos but I’m so glad I did. The picture on the left, from last year, is what made me do something about my weight and really kicked me into gear to change my ways. I joined @dunnebells_ 8-week program because I didn't like the way I looked, I had so much less confidence and as you can see wasn't that happy. I had no idea how this program would change my life. In the next set of photos is a bag I wore on holiday last year and how much bigger it is! I hadn't moved the strap or used it since Sep 2021 and this was a nice little surprise 🥰 I feel so confident in this outfit and had to share this moment. To make this no bake energy bites recipe, you will need the following ingredients: Old-fashioned oats: Also called rolled oats — these will serve as the base ingredient for our energy bites. Shredded coconut: Which I highly recommend toasting — either briefly in the oven or in a sauté pan — before adding to the energy bites. (Just be sure that they have cooled before adding in the chocolate chips, or the chocolate may heat and turn a bit melty.) Creamy peanut butter: I have used both traditional creamy peanut butter and natural creamy peanut butter in this recipe, and both work! Ground flaxseed: To add some extra protein, fiber and omega-3s to our energy bites. Semisweet chocolate chips: I photographed this recipe with standard-sized semisweet chips, but mini semisweet chips mix in easier. Honey: To add some natural sweetness and also help to bind the energy balls together. Vanilla extract: For a touch of extra flavor. Chia seeds (optional): Feel free to skip the chia seeds, if you do not have any on hand. 📢 Welcome to my blog! Today, let’s break down Calories In, Calories Out (CICO)—the fundamental principle behind weight management. If you’ve ever wondered how fat is stored or how to track calories properly, this guide will give you all the answers! 🥑🔥 What is Calories In, Calories Out (CICO)?
CICO is the simple idea that your weight is determined by the balance between: ✅ Calories In – The energy you consume from food and drinks ✅ Calories Out – The energy your body burns through metabolism, movement, and digestion
➡️ If you eat more calories than you burn, you store fat. ➡️ If you burn more than you eat, you lose fat. ➡️ If calories in and out are equal, your weight stays the same.
🔹 Example: If your body burns 2,000 calories daily but you consume 2,500, the extra 500 calories get stored as fat over time. DISCLAIMER: Most people burn around 2,000 calories a day just to stay alive! These calories are burned from your body digesting food, thinking, and keeping your organs functioning—even if you don’t move at all, just from sleeping. Now, imagine if you’re exercising—this can make a massive difference in your body over a month or two!
It’s not necessary to eat less than 1,500 calories if you’re exercising because an average workout burns 300–500 calories. Cutting calories too low can slow down your metabolism and affect your energy levels, so balance is key!
How Fat is Stored & Burned
🔥 How Fat is Made
When you eat more calories than your body needs, the excess energy is converted into triglycerides and stored in fat cells.
Over time, excess fat accumulates in different parts of the body, leading to weight gain.
🏃♀️ How Fat is Lost
When you eat fewer calories than you burn, your body breaks down stored fat for energy.
Triglycerides in fat cells are converted into energy, shrinking the fat cells, leading to weight loss.

Carbs are not the enemy ... fat is not the enemy ... protein is not just for bodybuilders! We've always been told to eat a well balanced diet in sensible portions, but because people react well to names and not structures so diets pop up left, right and centre. Some of these may work for you, some of these may not. The problem is there are too many ... too much option = a lack of discipline. There are health benefits in carbohydrates, fibre which is a by product of carbs has benefits such as aiding digestion and stabilising cholesterol levels. Is it a surprise that chlolestrol levels and digestion issues just get worse each year the more people do drastic things to lose weight? Health benefits in protein include repair of so many things in the body aswell as your the functioning of hormones. Fats help you reduce inflammation and increase your ability to burn fat. By eliminating one, you not only lose the health benefits but you may also become deficient in certain things. If the body requires and recognises deficiency it will raise appetite to encourage you to fill these gaps in your diet because you have broken pattern. If you are not trained to deal with this like bodybuilders or athletes are, then the likelihood of you breaking is very high, almost inevitable infact and you'll find yourself in frankies and bennies wondering where it all went wrong! Ok so obviously this girl was already feeling great in 1st (side) and 3rd (facing) pics, but wanted to get in vacation mode within a short period of time, almost exactly 1 month (Feb 18th-March 17th). She lost close to 10 lbs, 2.5” in her waist, 2.5” in her hips, 2” in both thighs, shall I go on? Same tactics, perhaps a bit more aggressive...but not by much!
