The painting, propped up against the wall in a tarnished old frame that might’ve once been golden, is remarkably pristine.

There’s not much of a response from your companion but her light steps and the sound of a sharp, soft gasp. You turn and look at her. She’s wide-eyed and frozen with an expression of indescribable heartache. It’s almost hard to watch.

“So that’s where he had hidden it,” she says, ever so quietly. “He could never bear to look at her after...”

You kneel and brush dust away from the nameplate at the base of the frame.

“Long names,” you murmur, and squint to read it, but you’re quickly interrupted.

“Valerion Velianel. Serawen Beausoleil. And...” Arpina hesitates. “Hesperia Velianel. Ruling family of Northpoint.”

“You know them?”

“I’m a Breton.” It’s the truth, you know that, but it sounds like a lie.

woo painting this piece was so fun!! definitely difficult bc that’s three people but it was incredibly fun. this takes inspo fr the castlevania painting of drac, lisa, and alucard. no i dont watch castlevania i just saw it and thought it was cute. anyway i had to guess what breton fashion is like, and since northpoint is in rivenspire where it’s cold looking and foggy and murky, i figured they’d like warm clothes in generally cool colors <3 anyway dont base what you think of northpoint clothing off my work i don’t know anything abt fashion lol. tumblr of course has devoured the quality so pls open img in new tab to admire it in its high res glory

I haven't stopped thinking about zolu after wano bc isn't it crazy that zoro, as enma's new wielder, has declared he might as well become the king of hell and it turns out he's a descendant of the shimotsuki/frost moon family line, making him a descendant of shimotsuki ryuma the god of the blade whom he resembles physically, whose sword zoro earned after defeating his zombie in thriller bark and who's considered a hero of wano that's only rivaled now by joy boy - luffy's sun god nika the warrior of liberation and joy. that both zoro's presence and luffy's df awakening as nika/joy boy in wano were considered the "work of fate". how zoro was luffy's first crewmate, one he actively sought after learning just his name and fearsome reputation. the whole pirate king and greatest swordsman business. their parallels to roger and ray. how they both have the will of kings/conquerors. I feel insane

forgive me if you've been asked this before or if its annoying, but how did you learn to use colored pencils like that? your art is so special to me.

ty :) I took an art class for a few years where our teacher had us buy prismacolor pencils as one of the art supplies and had us use them kinda like paints, pressing down hard right away and blending the colors together. its not how youre supposed to use them she was just trying to teach us to use color and ig this was more to the point. I picked them up again years after i stopped going to that class just bc they were there and i wanted to play around w them a bit and ended up actually enjoying it when doing it on my own terms lol

yay! I drew these quite literally three years ago. dragonheart!milo and raihan! a knight on a doomed dragon hunt being lifted out of his station by a small village medicine man. together they become magic lawyers and overthrow the government

the main details in these do survive into the iterations I’ve drawn (instead of these actual designs I spent time to make el oh el): the “leaf” diamond quilt/gambeson and the plaited coattail for milo, the “atypical” weapons, long coat, and large number of scattered fake gold trims and accessories for raihan. I think I lost raihan the hat and added a cape for milo further down the line because like this their general silhouettes are too similar for my liking lol

the fun thing about taako is he has very little in the ways of canon physical appearance other than "in-universe, he is seen as extremely beautiful" so you can give him whatever features you want and implicitly celebrate those features as beautiful

I bought a chest freezer recently so I can finally indulge my grandma instincts of Make An Unreasonable Amount Of Food For Not Much Money And Eat Of It For Months

Today I bought two rotisserie chickens and made SIX large chicken pot pies (9" pie tins), used the leftover carcasses and have chicken stock going in the slow cooker, with enough leftover chicken meat and veg to make chicken rice soup tomorrow for DnD and probably have quite a bit to freeze as well.
