richie and you had first met when you began working for the bear. being trained by him, it meant you two were spending a lot of time together. late nights, early mornings. you two would talk over coffee when you could sneak in a break during kitchen prep, you'd talk when marcus had you two try his newest pastries.

the first time he flirted with you, it was an accident. just slipped. but then it became your 'thing'. it was that teasing flirting, you know? pet names for each other, the whole shabang.

over the months you and him spend together, richie begins feeling the lines blurred. what's real and what's not between you two? it's the age old question. are you calling him honey as a joke or is that real? is his contact name 'R HONEY' to fit that joke or whatever?

he can feel himself falling in love with you. and before he can catch himself, he dives into it when he sees you and eva interacting.

tiff had rushed to the bear one afternoon when she was called into work. it was unexpected and in the middle of the lunch rush, and you'd been at the front when eva was dropped off, backpack in hand.

you guided her away from the chaos and into the back office. you and her talked about how excited she was for weekend plans with richie, what she learned in school. by the time richie found you two, you were talking her through her math homework. your voice was soft, you were patient with her.

he's in love.

by the time he realizes, he's so far gone. he knows it's the kind of love that could metaphorically kill him. you and him watch over eva together, and you help him load her into the car.

when he and eva are driving back to tiff's house, it's silent until eva's small voice speaks up. "are you in love with y/n, daddy?"

well, shit. if the kid can figure it out, maybe you have, too.

he returns to the bear where he knows you'll be, cleaning up with syd. he finds you in the front, sweeping the floors. before you can greet him, he's blurting it out. "i'm in love with you."

it's a blur. his ears are filled with the sound of his heartbeat and he knows you're talking, he can see your perfect lips moving but he can't hear you. it isn't until you're in front of him he can hear you clearly.

"i love you, too."

one of my favorite movie quotes is from the princess bride, where they say that since the invention of the kiss, there have been five kisses that were the most passionate, the most pure.

"you went through all that, and you're still here like it's nothing." you take a deep breath. then he looks into ur eyes and says, "you're even more of a badass than I thought." and you can tell that it's not a stupid line he pulled out of his ass. he's dead serious. and when he leans in to kiss you again, he shows you just how much he wants you.

soobin i think would be very quiet about it. like not really making many comments for a while. but not out of shock or confusion or pity. just an acceptance of who you are. like he's undressing you gently and finally sees your bare body in the light and starts noticing them slowly, his eager hands slowing down. he looks at it for a second while u carefully watch his reaction and then he leans down to press the softest kiss to one. again, not a performative pity party, not feeling sorry for you, and definitely not wanting to "save" you like some have wanted in the past. it's almost in admiration or reverence. and he kisses more of them, saying i see you without speaking.

beomgyu notices them when he lifts your shirt off, eyes slowly trailing down before catching on the thin lines as a flicker of awareness flits across his eyes. you've done this before, though, and with worse lighting. it's not so scary anymore. "yeah," you start. "they’re what you think they are." and he just nods, "okay." and there's this beat of silence before you finally ask, "you good?" he nods with a chuckle and says, "just trying not to say something stupid." a small smile tugs at the corners of ur lips. then he gently rests his palm on ur stomach and says, "it's just..." he takes a deep breath. "ur still here. and you let me be here too." he smiles. "that’s…a lot, you know?" and honestly? you finally feel seen. not as someone with weird scars or some pathetic thing that's minutes away from breaking down. and he's obsessed with you.

taehyun is kinda caught up in the moment already. ur splayed over the bed, fully bare and visible in the light. and he's just noticing them, touching them to acknowledge their existence. "they're not new," you say. "i'm okay now." and the way he looks in ur eyes, a deep admiration and respect ur not sure u've ever felt, just sort of hits. he holds ur face in his hand and says, "thank you for letting me see this part of you." and it's not dramatic. just truth. and you finally feel like he's not looking at something broken. "i didn’t mean to make it a big deal," you murmur. "you didn’t," he whispers. "but it is. you could’ve kept the lights off or covered up. but you didn’t." and the kiss is so beautiful and blissful—not because he sees your scars—but because you trusted him to.

hueningkai sees them when he's kissing down your stomach. he takes them in, slowly, silently. you go still, bracing for something, but ur not quite sure for what. you just hope it isn't disgust or worse: pity. he doesn't speak. just sits back on his knees and really looks at you. "damn," he starts. "you've been through it, huh?" then his eyes flick back up to yours, something different in them now—heavier than they were before. "and i’m just really fucking honored you chose me." you blink. and it hits. you don’t say anything. just reach for him, hand wrapping around the back of his neck to rest gently. when he leans in to kiss you again, it's not careful. it's intentional. he knows what this means. and he's not afraid. and this weight lifts off your shoulders. because he saw them. and he stayed.

he says he doesn’t like to sing but does it so well. he hates eating fish but knows a lot about which one is better for grilling. he says human treasure is worthless, yet he always finds himself being drawn to inazuman clothes and accessories washed ashore. he says he doesn’t get sunburnt but demands that you set up an umbrella for him.

THE UMBRELLA PART IS KILLING MEEE HE'S SO SPOILED 😭

The most high maintenance and tedious mermaid to work with honestly. You don't know why you keep coming back, just to practically be in his servitude. He expects you to cook every fish he brings you for him to eat, and it has to be seasoned and grilled perfectly, otherwise he'll complain for ages and claim that you're trying to poison him (He still eats it all tho). You're too enamored by him to leave, your curiosity always bringing you back to his shore. He's always cranky though if you've been away for a long time.

He's the type to throw fish or crabs at passersby to keep them away from your meeting spot. Sometimes, he spits a stream of water at children and swims away just as they bring their parents, pointing at the water to say that they saw a person, just for their parents to drag them away and tell them to stop making up stories while he's happily giggling underwater.

When you're bored, you make sandcastles together, and he's always the ruler of whatever kingdom you make. He pretends that all the sand dwellers/critters are his subjects and sometimes (tries) to hold public executions for any he deemed defy them (they were running away) just for you to stop him before he chops a poor crab and ask you to cook it.

And as much as he doesn't care for treasures as he claims, he still goes digging around the ocean floor, excavating treasures from the ocean and from lost human possessions to lazily gift them to you, claiming he found them laying around and thought you'd appreciate the 'junk' or whatever humans called it. He loved seeing your face light up at the things he brings, but he'll never admit it.

He doesn't usually engage in your conversation about your day, but you find that he tokens every little like and dislike you happen to mention and keeps it in the back of his mind for later, sometimes using it to pick out better gifts. He plays coy (lol) whenever you ask him about it though!

She shows up at The Bear one day to see him at work, and she’s wearing his jacket. Of course it’s a staple for Richie so everyone recognizes it, and tease her until Richie yells at them all for making his girl embarrassed 😩

let me just say, seeing this after i just got done writing a small draft for an upcoming angst richie fic where reader keeps his jacket after their breakup, nearly made me cry.

but anyway! awe, it'd be so cute! richie is 100% the type of guy who loves seeing you wear his clothes. his tee shirts that smell like you when he wears them next, his hoodies, and his signature leather jacket. i imagine he's very protective of that jacket (in my mind it was a gift from mikey, i know thats never really been confirmed anywhere but consider it one of my headcanons) and when you get to wear it?? it's like a trophy or something lmao.

but yes, you come into the bear with a letter for richie that seemed pretty important. you've gotten good at knowing when the bear is busiest and when it's usually calmer, so richie can sneak away. you walk in, and immediately fak (who already knows you're dating richie) notices the jacket. "is- is that richie's jacket?!"

"um, yeah.." you give him a puzzled look before you shake your head. "is he in the back? i wanted to drop this off and-"

it's not long before fak is calling for someone else to come see this. pretty soon, carmen is even standing in the doorway from the dining area to the kitchen, his arms crossed as he smirks. "he gave you his jacket?"

richie walks in, clapping his hands. "aye! fuckers! don't you all have work to be doing!?" he walks over, cupping your face in his hands. "hi. i love you." he gives you numerous pecks before you manage to hand him the letter. "i'm gonna go before that starts back up again." you give him another kiss before you're slipping out the door, and when richie turns back around, the bear staff knows they're in trouble.

Could I ask where you got that image of Noa and Mae without mocap?

I actually found it here on tumblr, I think when three of the deleted scenes were shown on various news media sites for the digital release earlier in July. I know they released deleted scenes on the digital release, and the one of Noa and Mae is actually the longer scene that was cut for time. If it helps, I recommend scrolling through either the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, or Mae x Noa tags on tumblr, or feel free to scroll through my page to find it! ☺️🥰

i have come to return the favour of brainrots.

lyney loves helping you get ready whenever you’re going out. you want your hair done? no problem, he knows exactly what’ll suit you. not sure what to wear? well, he’ll tell you which colours go well with your skin palette and which outlines complement your body shape. want to paint your nails? he’s already laid out all the colours in front of you (and will definitely kiss your knuckles once he’s finished.) you wear makeup? let him do your eyeliner; he’s got you covered, and can probably do it better than you could yourself. (he will, however, take the opportunity to paint a little heart on your cheek if you’re not careful. ‘see?’ he’ll grin, pointing at the teardrop on his own cheek. ‘now we match.’)

he also loves dancing with you—like, i’m imagining a typical ballroom (but maybe a bit more steampunky), and he pulls your favourite flower from what looks like thin air, lowers into a bow, holds the flower out to you, and presses his lips to the back of your hand when you take it, eyes glimmering as he asks, ‘would you care to indulge me with a dance, [monsieur/ mademoiselle/ a gender neutral equivalent]?’

and he’s such a gentleman while you’re dancing, too; one hand hovering on your hips, the other holding yours, and he definitely twirls you around, no question about it. he probably also does that thing where he catches you and you stare at each other for a long, romantic-tension-you-could-cut-with-a-knife moment before he pulls you back up.

his favourite place to kiss you is probably your knuckles—you always get adorably flustered when he just barely skims his lips over the back of your hand, and he wouldn’t give up that expression for the world—closely followed by the tip of your nose and your lips and your forehead and— (you get the idea…)

also, going back to when you’re in the crowd during his performances, him trying to find you in the audience becomes a game over time: you’ll try and make yourself as inconspicuous as possible, and he’ll look for you as he’s performing. he’s never not managed to spot you before, and each time he does and you make eye contact, he winks at you and blows you a kiss.

i feel like there’s also a chance he might actually propose to you onstage at the end of a performance if he was sure you’d be comfortable with it: like, everyone’s about to take their bows, and he suddenly asks for a ‘surprise volunteering act’—of course, you get picked (what are the chances?), and once you’re on stage, he announces, ‘now, my dearest volunteer, i only need your hand for this magic trick. nothing more, nothing less.’

you raise an eyebrow, unsure what he’s planning—this ‘surprise act’ was certainly not on the lineup he described to you—and to your (and everyone else in the audience’s astonishment), he gets down on one knee, takes off his hat, and pulls a little box from it. the whole theatre is silent: you could hear a pin drop as he clears his throat and says, ‘if you’d be so kind as to humour me… may i ask for your hand in marriage?’ safe to say, that was a day nobody who was there ever forgot…

(of course, if he thinks you might be uncomfortable with such a public proposal, he’ll stick with something more private.)

Since he's part of the performance industry, it's common knowledge for him to know how to do hair and makeup. So if you ever struggle to do those things, he'll learn how to style and take care of your hair no matter the texture, type, or length. It might be trial and error but you both have fun bonding together, especially when he tries doing your makeup.

Archons forbid he ever puts lip gloss or something on your lips (it's gonna end up on his regardless, he has no self control when he's already inches away from kissing you). He makes a mess and has to redo it again, but that's after the mini make out session, he doesn't mind at all though... he might try to kiss you again. NEVER let them know your next move. 😭

LOVES LOVES LOVES dancing with you, even if you can't dance or have difficulty doing so. He'll hold/carry you if he has to and just sway and spin you around. He doesn't mind if you trip up or stumble over his feet. He'll correct it, his hands guiding your hips, whispering instructions and praises as his words brush and fan across your neck, sending shivers down your spine.

He spins you like a princess, and if he's bold enough, he might throw you in the air and catch you (much to your frightened squeals and dismay). Whether you're in the spotlight or dancing in the dark, swaying in the rain, or practicing in a ballroom, his eyes are forever locked on yours. And don't expect him to dip you and NOT leave a kiss (unless he feels like teasing you). It's truly a crime to him if he doesn't at this opportune moment.

Dancing with him feels like a fairytale.
