Wednesday WIP

Thanks for the tag @heartofspells, my darling 😘 Since it's past midnight, I guess this is officially a Wednesday WIP.

I also gently nudge @soloorganaas in the hope of another RBWWB snippet because I am obsessed as we all know. Also poking @theresthesnitch and @puuvillaa if you feel inspired and have something to share.

I'm behind on Mafs but I promise you all that the next chapter is very, very close to being finished and I can't wait to share it with you. I'll share this little snippet while you all wait so patiently.

There was something about stepping out of the train station in Brighton that immediately made Remus feel at home. The air was somehow higher there, the sound of seagulls constantly present in the distance. Even though the sea was a bit of a walk away from the station, Remus imagined he could still sense it underneath the usual smell of cigarette smoke, exhaust and chips from the chip shop. They had been granted a couple of hours on their own before Matt was due to join them in order to properly document their last night together before they were due to go their separate ways. Remus was grateful for it, and he was relieved that they had agreed that putting cameras into his flat for this one day was too much work. Sure, it was awkward to have Matt trail behind them at all times, especially when they were out and about, but by now they were both so used to it that they barely thought about him. He paused by the side of the road as he took a deep breath, and he felt Sirius stepping up behind him. “I haven’t been in Brighton for years,” Sirius said as Remus turned to look at him. Sirius looked good, as always, dark sunglasses obscuring his eyes and shielding them from the bright sun that was beating down on them. There were a lot of people in motion around them, they clearly weren’t the only ones deciding to spend the day by the beach. Remus tightened his grip on his wheely bag, but before he could start moving he felt Sirius’ hand cover his. His husband gently pried his fingers off the handle to replace them with his own. “Let me take that.” “I can drag my own bag,” said Remus, but when Sirius grinned at him he couldn’t help but to smile back at him. “I know,” Sirius said easily as he started walking. “But I want to.” Remus didn’t argue, simply shook his head a little as he followed Sirius. They didn’t talk much as they walked, there wasn’t much point as they squeezed past students and couples and families who all seemed to be moving as one towards the lure of the water. Remus tried to make sense of what he was feeling. They had had a good few days since Sirius had spoken to Minerva and their conversations flowed easier. They hadn’t made any decisions yet, but at least they had started speaking about the things that mattered. Remus still couldn’t shake the feeling that they were running out of time though. They had two more days before they were going to meet with the experts to decide whether or not they wanted to stay married. They would spend the day together but tomorrow Sirius would go back to his house in London and Remus would stay here. Two more nights before their entire future was decided, and this time it would be different. Remus would know what he was walking into. It wouldn’t be the complete shock of marrying a total stranger; this time it would be them choosing each other… or not.

a while back someone shared a couple of song snippets from the in-progress musical Epic with me, including "Monster," which I IMMEDIATELY sent to Maf as having EXTREME HENRY VIBES, specifically the monochrome "pointy henry" from the Bad Loop. The other day Maf let me know a little more of the song has been released and I just had to drop everything to draw a murderous henry about it...

My 'KHAYALI PULAO'

(These are the snippet I wanted to see in IPKKND. After every rewatch, I just close my eyes and these imaginary scenes flash through my mind like they are actual scene. I am trying to articulate them here for my future recap. so that I can read them later and also hoping that some day an AI app will come where I can input these scripts and a scene will produce from the app😁😁)

Right After kidnapping

arnav: nani,bohot rat ho chuke hain, apko sou jana chahiye

Arnav: grandma, it's too late,you need to sleep.

(nani nodding her head and got up to go to her room. Arnav giving his attention to khushi reached out to hold her hand. arnav's mind went back to the terrace of akash-payal marriage night.'khushi ji main rani shaheba ko apni patni nehi mante' for the first time realizing there was a resistance from khushi's side to the hug)

arnav: khushi, mujhe sab khuch janna hain. tell me everything in details. SAB KUCH, do you understand? did he ever tried to hurt you or kya kuch esa....(unable to complete the sentence. khushi started fidgeting) khushi, batao mujhe(softly using the tone only he uses with her) I promise, I won't get angry.

Arnav:khushi,I need to know everything. tell me everything in details. EVERYTHING, do you understand? did he ever tried to hurt you or do anything.... (unable to complete the sentence. khushi started fidgeting) khyshi,pls tell me(softly using the tone only he uses with her) I promise, I won't get angry.

khushi: (fidgeting) ap toh jante hain sab khuch.hamne apko bataya tha na. lekin ap toh mujhe yekin (hi nahi ki. khushi couldn't finish the sentence seeing the anguish in arnav's eyes)

khushi:(fidgeting) you know everything. I told you before,remember? but you didn't believe... (she couldn't finish the sentence seeing the anguish in arnav's eyes)

arnav: ( getting himself together) usdin chad pe kaya hua tha batao mujhe?

Arnav:( getting himself together) tell me what happened that day on the roof.

khushi: (she became extremely nervous, not able to meet his eyes, she focused all her attention and looked down to their joined hand) woh usdin ap hamse kuch baat karne chaha rehe the na? toh mujhe (gulping, voice stated to tremble) woh main jis kamre me thi uha ayene pe kisine likha tha ke mujhe chaad pe jana hain. hum soche the ap mujhe bula rehe hain. par ap uha nehi the. uha toh woh admi......tab main uha se vag ke ana chaha rehi thi.... lekin....(both closed their eyes, reluctant to say or listen what comes next) unhone hamko jadardasti se....uske bad mujhe kuch bhi acchese yaad nehi hain.... ham bohot dar geye the. unhone kya kaha, hamne... kya...... (khushi openes her eyes meeting his eye first time after starting this conversation, upon meeting his eyes, her lips started trembling, unable to hold anymore he hugged her, now khushi started to sob clutching his t-shirt) hamne bohot yaad karne ke koshis ki.... apne kaha tha na, jo apne suna. lekin main thik se yaad hi nehi kar payi(khushi started to hicupp and arnav looks like he will start to sob with her too) mujhe sirf itna yaad hain ke hamne unse kaha thi ke agar woh di ko patni nehi manta toh di ko uss gatiya admi ke bagayar hi rehena chahiye. mujhe maf kar dijiye mujhe aur khuch yaad nehi hain.

I thought it was you. but you weren't there..there was the man... then I wanted to escape from there but (both closed their eyes, reluctant to say or listen what comes next) he grabbed me by force... after that I didn't remember anything clearly. I was terrified....whatever he said... whatever I said...... (khushi openes her eyes meeting his eye first time after starting this conversation, upon meeting his eyes, her lips started trembling, unable to hold anymore he hugged her, now khushi started to sob clutching his t-shirt) I tried to recall them so hard....you told me what you heard...but I am unable to remember them (khushi started to hicupp and arnav looks like he will start to sob with her too) I just remember that if he can't accept Di as wife then she would be better off without a disgusting person like him. I am so sorry, I only remember this.

arnav: sshhh,khushi, tume mafi mangne ki koi jarurat nehi hain(closing his eyes realizing he is the one who should apologise and hugging khushi tightly)

Arnav: sshhhh,khushi,you don't have to say sorry((closing his eyes realizing he is the one who should apologise and hugging khushi tightly)

(the screen will fade to black,leaving two people hugging each other)

(then their is a scene in bed arnav and khushi lying together, khushi is soundly asleep, mentally and physically exhausted, arnav is wide awake, hand behind his head looking up in the ceiling)

Not me reading Just a Spoonful of Your Love for the millionth time instead of studying organisational charts like I should be doing because the maf post sparked my 1691 feelings

Nonnie this makes me so damn happy ok. I love hearing about when people love reading my non gc fics. There is another one in the works. It's sugar baby mitch again, and I've posted a few snippets here and there. But it is sadly not 1691. BUT hopefully GC should have some more 1691 as we keep going ;)

the mafs was def interesting. any chance you’d write a snippet of some dani/trish interactions? i know it was mostly from jamie's pov, but i'd love to read dani’s pov of the beach convo or any other scenes really.

this is in store for the epilogue, yes! i’ve had some requests for dani’s POV for the beach and other scenes, so i very well might do that, too!

sticking to Jamie’s POV was fun and necessary, but those Trish scenes sure are a joy to write. i’d love an opportunity to explore Dani and Trish’s friendship some more.

Mafs update

Hello, my darlings, I have an important Mafs announcement to make. We are nearing the end of they journey for our boys and decision time is approaching fast and hard.

I have decided to post the penultimate and final chapter together, and with any luck that will happen during the weekend. So, if you are looking for a sign to catch up before the story gets wrapped up, this is it.

And because you're all so lovely and patient and encouraging and amazing... have a little snippet below the cut.

“So, are you ready for tomorrow?” Lily asked as she handed him a glass, the corner of her mouth pulling upwards as Sirius gave her a look. “I’m sorry, but you didn’t think you’d be able to avoid the conversation all day, did you? It’s a big day tomorrow.”

“I know it’s a big day,” Sirius muttered, glaring at his drink.

“Right,” Lily said as she pulled out a chair to take a seat opposite him at the table. “How are you feeling?”

“I don’t know,” Sirius sighed heavily. “When I woke up today, all I could think was that I wanted to talk to him. I just wanted to– want to– I don’t know. I wish I knew what he was thinking.”

Lily studied him thoughtfully, her green eyes piercing and Sirius took a big gulp from his wine to distract himself.

“Maybe you should focus a bit more on what you’re thinking,” said James as he added some salt into a pot of boiling water.

“I don’t say this very often but I think James might be on to something,” Lily said, a teasing little tilt to her smile as she gave her husband a fond look. When she shifted her gaze over to Sirius, her expression smoothed out a little. “Seriously though, what are you thinking?”

“It’s only been five weeks,” Sirius said, his voice tight. “I like him, sure, but I don’t– I mean– five weeks is nothing. How can you even know if you love someone after five weeks?”

“I knew,” James quipped, pushing his glasses up on his nose as he turned around to look at them. “Hell, I knew after five minutes. Didn’t I tell you I was going to marry her the first time I saw her?”

He indicated Lily with a nod of his head and Sirius snorted.

“Yeah, well, you’re a maniac,” he scoffed, but for some reason he found it impossible not to smile as he looked between his two best friends.

He was impressed at how they managed to still look so in love even after all these years. He knew it hadn’t always been easy, it had been especially tough during Harry’s first few years, but somehow they had managed to pull through. Sirius had never doubted their love for each other, but he was very aware that they had gone through rough patches too.

He knew that they had wanted, and tried, for more children and the fact that they had been unsuccessful had almost broken them up for good. They had worked their way through it though, and now they seemed stronger than ever. When Lily turned back towards him, her cheeks were a little pink and her eyes bright.

“Well, as you know, I wasn’t sure even after five years so really, I don’t think there’s a set time limit on these things,” she commented drily, but her eyes were glittering.

(I’m gonna mostly refrain from tagging writers in this simply to avoid spamming them so much in one night haha. But I’ll link you to some of their fics/drabbles.)

I mentioned Green Card by a little-blonde-distraction in (this) post, and I think it’ll be right up your alley because it’s a fake marriage AU with a side of roommates. It’s unfinished, but it’s so damn good that you’ve gotta read it if you haven’t yet. ;)

Also, I know that In The Land of a Billion Lights by xxredwineandambiencexx is another popular fake dating multichapter AU. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet (it’s on my ridiculously long to-read-fic list *woe is me*) but I’ve heard lots of good things about it. Oh! And Collison Course by Sophia Chase and Drive me Crazy by soapmaniac22.

If you’re into Harry Potter AUs, Angie wrote a fake marriage oneshot for a Klaroline Vaycay Exchange a while back that I wrote a squealing review for because I have no chill. It’s called Rule Number Four.

As for fluffy oneshots...

You can never go wrong with anything Cristy (misssophiachase) writes. She has a drabble collection called Crossroads, with each story inspired by a movie, and another collection called The Beginning of Another Story with how/when KC arrive at their endgame. 

Kennen (childoftimeandmagic) recently wrote me a roomie AU called Thought You’d Never Ask.

Morgan (honestgrins) astounds me with how fast and often she puts out mini-drabbles. Totes scroll through her writing section on her blog because she writes so many cutesy and romantic KC moments. Oh! And read Delivered, which is her You’ve Got Mail AU.

Luce enjoys slaying me with her poetic prose as well as her fluffy goodness. I really loved her blind date AU tea and coffee, eggs and bacon. I can’t find her FFnet URL rn, though, and it’s driving me b o n k e r s because she has some really awesome stuff on there. (@lclrgsl you didn’t delete it, right? Or are my eyes too tired, thereby playing tricks on me lol?)

I *sigh dreamily* over Jenn’s (gooddame) writing all the time. She’s one of the sweetest humans alive and sends me snippets of writing to brighten my day with Klaroline “just because.” She wrote A Rosy Thorn In My Side, a royalty/hidden identity AU, for AU Week this year. 

Maf’s (kickassfu) drabble collection Klaroline Ficlets has tons of precious Klaroline as well. And she often includes some Koroline brotp, which I can never have enough of so there’s that.

Luiza (itsnotacrimetoloveyou) recently wrote a TO 5x06 AU that left me in a puddle of emotion, and that’s (here). You should just read all of her stuff in general, btw. She wrote me a Doctor Who AU for my birthday this year and I almost died from OTP feels, I kid you not. If you’re interested it’s: You’re the Universe I’m Helpless In. *obsessed with it forever*

Kate (accidental-rambler) has written Klaroline fic for a while now, but she’ll always be one of my favorite writers because she’s so versatile and creative. She’s over on FF.net at MrsAgentCooper. Her drabble collections 52 Weeks of Klaroline, Eternity Tastes Like Blood On Your Tongue, and All Roads Lead To You are fantastic. Also, I’m gonna kick my own ass if I don’t read her multichapter, “You Want Me To Be Yours” sometime soon. 

The same goes for Miranda’s (livingdeadblondequeen’s) The Only Hope For Me Is You.

Week 4-Reality tv

The internet is “supposedly about… public communication and deliberation” therefore politics has utilised social media to encourage individuals involvement through snippet teaser videos of reality tv shows or activist movements posted on platforms such as facebook or instagram thus inviting more people to get involved in discussions as they can view the content in a small aspect (Graham, T. and Hajru, A., 2011).

Reality tv is a big part of the majority of peoples lives in the 21st century where it has been made readily available and can be accessed on live tv or watched on streaming services at the users convenience. Initially reality Tv show contestants were seen as relatable as they are ‘everyday’ people with lives just like you and me however nowadays through the changes in production they are often portrayed as micro celebrities displayed on a pedestal by the producers once the show gains traction (Kavka 2018, p.7).

Reality tv used to be more orientated around being a documentary or observation style of show but has now drifted into creating drama and interpersonal conflict. Rather than showing people as they truely are the producers are focussed on casting participants as the villain or a victim to fulfil the archetypes in their shows (Coy 2022). The editing of reality tv has also evolved due to this change in show types as it used to be orientated around getting the best shots and content for the show where now it can be manipulated to make something seem more dramatic or worse than it actually is in an attempt to gain traction with the audience, this can be seen on shows like MAFS where Olivia is portrayed as a bully who lacks empathy when really, many of her words have been edited and manipulated to fit the quota (Coy 2022).

Due to the nature of reality tv now days we all know it can spark conversation and political talk which is why MAFS has had such a huge presence online whether its facebook, twitter or reddit there is always a new post talking about the show, recently being whether Olivia should face criminal charges due to the ‘revenge porn’ incident that occurred a few weeks ago after Olivia shared Domenica’s only fans images which is still being looked into by police (Menon 2022).
