Useless Veilguard fact of the day: Day 21

Nominally, the Arcane Shot ability can only detonate Sundered when you buy the Bombastic upgrade from the Sustain tree. However, the version of the spell you get at level 1 can already act as a detonator even if that's not mentioned in the skill's description.

I feel like a lot of people get REALLY caught up, when giving D&D classes to characters from non-D&D works, in trying to give each person a different class instead of just allowing the party in a non D&D setting to be like 5 wizards and a rogue. Also a lot of low-magic settings would better be described as like, Blades in the Dark playbooks than D&D.

Personally I love when Dragon Age Mage Companion describes the vibe of the ambient magic in any given location. Not only does it help breath life into the setting but it feels very tangible, like I can imagine what that might feel like to a character in tune with the fade.

You say the magic here is heavy? Sorrowful? That’s how it feels to be out on a very humid day, the moisture is cloying and almost sticky on your exposed skin. The veil is thin? Cold air, not the temperature but the almost electric feeling as your skin prickles and the hair on your arms stands up. Ancient magic you say? The stillness of a cave, there is nothing but quiet around you and yet you can still sense the walls of the cavern. Supportive, immemorial, but perhaps a little oppressive.

But also, what did they expect housing mages in a place called the fucking Gallows? The veil was unspeakably thin there, it was almost effortless for her to call upon her spirit healing. A demon wanting to get into the world would have very little resistance, there.

"But a Templar in Kirkwall trying to help mages? That is a very curious thing, indeed." She'd mostly avoided the other Templars, truth be told. She'd seen Cullen, because of course she had, why wouldn't they end up in the same place somehow, and ducked away almost immediately. If he was trying to heal from the past, seeing her certainly wouldn't help.

But working under Knight Commander Meredith probably wouldn't help, either.
