TWD characters when you tell them about your assault
This is heavily inspired by the post @slasherhaven that they made awhile ago. I've been hyperfixated on TWD lately and I'm still in the middle of watching it, I'm early in season 9 so sorry if these are kind of OOC. Also I am now writing for Maggie and Glenn.
Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Glenn Rhee, and Maggie Rhee
Warnings: Mentions of past sexual assault no explicit details mentioned, murder, canon typical violence, talk of getting killed by walkers, slight season three spoilers
Rick Grimes
When you tell him about what happened to you his heart breaks and he's immediately filled with rage. He doesn't want to leave you alone after you're so open and vulnerable with him about this but he genuinely has to step away to calm himself down about this.
Once he's calmed himself down he'll be quickly back to help comfort you about what happened. Holding you close and letting you vent as much as you need to. Now that he's here he's going to protect you as much as he can and no one is going to hurt you again.
When you give him information on the person who did it to you he thinks not much of it for the time being but when he runs into the piece of filth that hurt you he's seething. But he'll put on a mask until he can really get close enough to get them back.
He's not going to waste a bullet on this sick son of a bitch. He'll made it slow and painful. He'll beat them bloody and make sure they're eaten by walkers before they die.
Then he'll go back home to you and make sure that you're comforted and know that you're deeply loved and appreciated by him. He'll never tell you that he killed them, but he'll always let you know that they can't hurt you anymore.
Daryl Dixon
He's not exactly sure how to go about helping you when you tell him about your assault. Of course he's upset, he's very outraged, but he's not very in tune with his emotions and obviously he's not going to really know how to handle regulating his emotions and help you.
In a rare moment of vulnerability he'll hold you close to him and let you cry out your feelings. He won't say or do much other than hold you close and promise you that no one is ever going to hurt you again.
You gave him details about your assault but he never actually expected to come across that person, especially given the fact that it's the apocalypse. But when he sees the person that hurt you his immediate reaction is to try and kill them.
But he settles on beating them close to death and berating them the entire time about how much of an awful person they are and just how much they deserve what's happening to them. After beating them close to death he'll leave them there and hope that a walker eats them alive.
Just like with Rick he'll get back home and go to give you a hug, which is rare with Daryl. He'll hover close to you for the rest of the day and will be sure to try and show you just how much he cares about you in his own way. He'll also never tell you what he did, he'll just tell you there's no way in hell they can hurt someone ever again.
Glenn Rhee
He's 100% pulling you into a hug when you tell him about what happened to you. He'll be silent the entire time unless you want him to comfort you verbally which he will do if that's what you need to happen.
He'll spend the rest of the day taking care of you and trying to keep your load relatively light. He'll be close to you for the rest of the day and try to make sure that you're not beating yourself up for what happened to you.
When he finds out he knows the person who assaulted you he's livid. He takes them out to a secluded area and threatens them after beating them for a bit. He swears if they ever come near you again he'll kill them.
He personally watches or makes sure that they're long gone before the comes back home to you where he assures you they'll never hurt you ever again. He won't give details but he'll keep assuring you that they'll never hurt you again.
Maggie Rhee
When you explain your assault to her she's heartbroken, immediately pulling you into a hug and holding you there for as long as you need to be held.
If she feels like it could help you she'll talk about her own experience with what happened with The Governor. She'll appreciate how vulnerable you're being with her and she'll feel like she can be vulnerable with someone again.
If she ever comes across the person who hurt you she's going to be overcome with rage and will have to calm herself down to get him back to Hilltop and keep him there while she talks to you about what you want to do about them.
If you want them dead she's happy to help you with killing them, however you want to kill them she'll help, unless you want to do it yourself. She wants to get you justice and if killing them is justice to you then go ahead.
If you don't want them dead she understands that but she'll eventually to it herself. She can't stand the idea of the person who hurt you so horribly being able to go unpunished for what they did to you. Either way after what happens she's going to comfort you again.

Wicked Game
Tumblr media
Pairing: Maggie x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 1.1k
Warnings: ~suggestive~ towards the end
Summary: A slightly enemies to lovers maggie x fem!reader farm era fic. I'm in love w maggie so this came super easy, I know it's not very popular to write about but w/e!! we all saw those dead city pics. shoutout @weretheones & @normanplusdaryl for encouraging my maggie simpery.
When you first met her, you swore she might’ve hated you. No, you were certain. With her narrow green eyes always fixed on you and a scowl on her face whenever you entered a room, it was hard to have any doubts. It was intimidating. She was intimidating. You were around the same age when you met, the only people in your age bracket holed up in her dad’s farmhouse other than Glenn.
Her bold attitude captivated both you and Glenn, and you often found yourselves talking about whatever new shocking thing you witnessed her doing when you went on runs together. “Did you see the way she just slapped Shane?” Glenn asked completely baffled. “Yeah, she’s just asking for murder,” you joked holding back a grin. Maggie Greene, she was full of surprises -- and honestly, you wouldn’t mind sticking around to see how many more.
There was no denying it, she was gorgeous. It wasn’t lost on anyone with her soft brown hair and the big smile that always stopped you in your tracks the rare times you were graced with it, usually when you bought her something on a run that you overheard her saying she needed earlier. And her distinct farmgirl fashion, maybe you wouldn’t have worn any of it, but she always pulled it off. She could pull anything off.
Slowly, you became more friendly with her, it was inevitable when you were living in close quarters for so long. You eventually realized her earlier stubbornness was just due to being protective over her family and the farm, and you couldn’t blame her for that.  Once the initial awkwardness faded away, you, Glenn, and Maggie started having regular game nights to pass the time. They were full of laughter and chaos, and Herschel would sometimes peer in to remind you “rowdy kids” to get to bed, which only made you all laugh harder. A few times, you noticed the old man bite back a smile, in relief that there was still at least some joy in this new world.
You loved seeing Maggie get competitive, or when she would try to trick Glenn into making the wrong move, which was more frequent than not. He was always visibly nervous and stammering around her, and you could tell she was using it to her advantage. She would tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, lean forward with her chest - god that was distracting, flash her doe eyes and that smile and he was a goner. You couldn’t blame him either, you always got butterflies whenever she pulled that move. But instead of reacting like him, you would chuckle and you would exchange a knowing glance with her, a new inside joke between you two. You couldn’t be happier to be a part of it.
One game night, Glenn brought a bottle of wine he had scavenged, making sure to hide it from Herschel. The three of you had your usual nightly routine together, but Glenn started going overboard with the drinking and before you could finish the round of the game you were playing, he was passed out on the floor. “He’s a lightweight, huh,” Maggie giggled. You nodded.
“So, I guess it’s just you and me now,” she pointed out. “Yeah, sorry about that,” you said with a half-smile, feeling those butterflies creep up on you. Her eyes crinkled when she grinned, “You’re funny.” Much to your surprise, she scooted around closer to you, making sure not to disturb Glenn, who was currently splayed out on the floor beside you.
You felt like you were going to lose it. You didn’t have many moments alone with her, and this felt like completely new territory. Plus, the feelings you had developed for her didn’t make this any easier. There was no chance she would ever feel the same way, you knew it. You were going to make a fool of yourself and you were consumed with dread.
“What do ya say we ditch this game?” she asked. You barely made eye contact with her as you replied, “Maybe that’s a good idea.”
“This might be a good chance to get to know each other too.” The remark made you snap upright and you repeated it back to her. She continued, “Yeah, silly. Don’t you think it’s a good idea since we’re spending so much time together?” You gulped unsure of what to say next. “There’s just not much to know about me,” you scoffed.
“Pffft, that’s a downright lie. You might be the most interestin’ person in this house.” You felt your cheeks turn pink and prayed that she wouldn’t notice. “Glenn’s interesting,” you said with a shrug, trying to distract from it. She looked over at him, “Yeah, real interestin,” and you broke out in laughter together.
“Seriously, tell me somethin’ about you. What did you do?”
“I don’t know. I guess I was in school, I didn’t do much,” you sighed. “I was in school for a while too,” she replied moving in closer. Your heart was racing so fast you were starting to think it was dangerous.  “I think we might have more in common than I originally thought,” she whispered. She was making those doe eyes and you had to be going crazy. She couldn’t possibly mean…that, right? And why was she leaning in so close to you? In your bewilderment, you questioned her. She chuckled then, but it was different. It wasn’t like when you exchanged knowing glances when she pulled her moves on Glenn. She was looking straight through you.
She took a deep breath in and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, and just like that a wave of heat flushed over your body. Her face was mere inches away from yours now. “Do you like me?” she asked softly, almost embarrassed, a look you never saw on her before. Of course you did, you responded. In more ways than one, but she didn’t have to know about that.
She nodded and smiled, and you just about jumped when she leaned in and brushed her soft lips against yours. It was a quick, shy kiss - waiting to see how you reacted and you were in so much shock that your mind went blank. But she was so beautiful, and right in front of you, and what the hell - she liked you. So you seized the moment and kissed her back, the movements getting more passionate and desperate by the second, both of your hands moving and grabbing in places they probably shouldn’t have when Glenn could’ve woken up at any second.
“I didn’t think that was what you meant when you were asking if I liked you,” you admitted after the kiss was broken. “Are you complainin’?” she teased. “No. Of course not,” you giggled and her’s soon followed.

"It's nothing, just a scratch."
Tumblr media
Pairing: Maggie Rhee/Greene x fem!reader
Warnings: mentions of injury, i think that's it?
Word Count: 2k
Summary: In the quiet of Hilltop at dusk, you wait anxiously for Maggie's return. When she arrives injured, you offer help despite her initial refusal. As you care for her wound, a tender moment unfolds, offering solace amidst the uncertainty of the world.
A/N: Heyy, thank you so much for all the love for my first fanfiction! I'm currently working on another Regina fic, but since I'm not quite sure what direction that will go, I decided to publish this Maggie x reader fic first. I tagged Maggie both as Rhee and Greene because why not. Anyways, I would die for this woman in a heartbeat.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The evening draped Hilltop in a soft, dusky hue as you sat on the well-worn couch by the fireplace, the crackling flames casting flickering shadows across the room. The rhythmic hum of cicadas outside provided a calming backdrop to the quietude within your cozy home.
The cushioned embrace of the couch enveloped you as you attempted to immerse yourself in a book you had randomly picked up. The weathered cover bore the weight of numerous readings, its pages slightly yellowed, but each word within still held the power to transport you to another world.
The day had been uneventful; scavenging, tending to tasks around the settlement, and engaging in the mundane yet necessary routines of life after everything changed. But amidst the routines, the anticipation of Maggie's return lingered, creating a gentle knot of concern in your chest.
You knew she had matters to attend to, responsibilities that came with leading the community. But it didn't stop the concern from gnawing at you, the desire for her safe return growing more pronounced with each passing moment. You knew Maggie was strong and capable, but the unpredictability of the world outside made waiting an agonizing endeavor.
You toyed with the pages of the book, your attention drifting, unable to focus on the words. Your mind kept conjuring scenarios, each more concerning than the last, despite your attempts to quell the rising worry. You found yourself constantly looking towards the door, half-expecting it to open with her arrival, yet it remained closed, a barrier between your anticipation and her presence.
The crackling of the fire seemed to echo the erratic rhythm of your heartbeat, each pop and hiss amplifying the quiet solitude of the room. As the warm glow of the fire danced upon the walls, the long awaited creak of the front door finally interrupted the serene atmosphere.
You looked over your shoulder to find Maggie standing in the doorway. She held herself together with that familiar resilience, but the way she moved hinted at something else beneath the surface. A facade of calm determination masked a hint of pain that lingered in the corners of her eyes.
A surge of relief washed over you, evident in the way your shoulders relaxed as you set the book aside. "Hey" you greeted, unable to conceal the relief in your voice.
"Hey" she replied, her voice a soothing melody in the quiet room.
You met her eyes, an unspoken question lingering in your gaze. "Everything okay?" you inquired, your eyes scanning her for injuries as she slumped next to you on the couch. Her clothing was stained with blood, and a nasty looking gash adorned her arm.
"You're hurt." you observed, your worry transforming into urgency.
Maggie's attempt at a nonchalant shrug was feeble. She tried to hide it, but you saw the way she winced when she moved her arm. "It's nothing, just a scratch." she deflected, attempting to sidestep your worry.
Maggie had always been fiercely independent, even in the most dire circumstances. It was one of the many things that drew you to her—the strength, resilience, and determination that radiated from her, even when faced with adversity. But her stubbornness could sometimes border on self-destructive, especially when it came to her own well-being.
"Let me take a look at it." you insisted. Maggie shook her head. "I can handle it, I've dealt with worse." she retorted, wincing as she attempted to unbutton her shirt with her injured arm.
You sighed before getting up to go gather the necessary supplies—a first aid kit, a bowl of water, and bandages—before returning to the couch where Maggie was still trying to unbutton the rest of her shirt.
"Let me." you offered gently, setting the supplies down.
Maggie hesitated for a moment, her resolve visibly wavering. Finally, with a defeated sigh, she relented, allowing you to gently remove her bloodstained button up shirt, revealing the wound that marred her resilient exterior.
The soft glow of candlelight illuminated the space, casting gentle shadows as you carefully examined the wound on her arm. "It's nothing, really." she murmured, trying to downplay the severity of her injuries.
You reached for the bowl of water, soaking a clean cloth and cleaning the wound gently, mindful of her discomfort. Maggie hissed through clenched teeth, trying to mask the pain, but her grip on the edge of the couch tightened.
"Sorry." you murmured softly, glancing up to meet her eyes before continuing the meticulous cleaning process, wiping away the dried blood to reveal the full extent of the injury.
Silence settled in the room, broken only by the crackling of the fire. Maggie's eyes followed your every move, a mixture of defiance and vulnerability swirling in their depths. You were her safe haven, the one person she could rely on without reservation. Your touch was gentle, yet firm, as you cleaned the wound and carefully bandaged it up, ensuring she would heal properly.
Once the wound was fully cleaned and bandaged, you looked up to find Maggie watching you, gratitude and affection shining in her eyes. "You didn’t have to do this." she whispered, her voice carrying a vulnerable undertone.
“I know.” you replied softly, giving her a reassuring smile. “But I wanted to.”
Your words hung in the air, laden with care and unspoken emotions that resonated between you both. The warmth of the moment enveloped the room, the dancing flames casting a soft, flickering light on the scene.
"Thank you." she whispered, her voice holding a vulnerability she rarely showed.
"Anytime." you replied, a gentle smile gracing your lips.
Leaning back against the cushions, Maggie released a contented sigh, her gaze drifting toward the fire as if drawing comfort from its dance. "It's quiet tonight." she observed, her tone carrying a hint of reflection.
"Yeah, it is." you replied, casting a glance outside where the evening sky painted a canvas of stars. "Almost makes you forget what's out there." you added, gesturing vaguely towards the window.
Maggie nodded in agreement, her eyes fixated on the flames. "Almost." she murmured softly, a reminder that even amidst tranquility, the world beyond their walls remained untamed and unforgiving.
After a beat, Maggie's gaze drifted to the book you had set aside earlier. "What were you reading?" she asked, a glimmer of curiosity in her eyes.
“Uhh… I’m actually not sure.” you replied, picking up the book from the side table. “I couldn’t focus on reading it so…” you shrugged as you ran your fingers over the weathered cover.
Maggie shifted, her gaze momentarily dropping before meeting yours again. "You worry too much, you know." she said, a hint of a smile playing on her lips, attempting to lighten the atmosphere.
"It's hard not to." you admitted, a soft chuckle escaping your lips. "Especially when you keep coming back like this." you gestured at her bandaged arm.
Maggie’s smile softened, her eyes holding a mixture of appreciation and affection. "But I always come back, don't I?" she said, gently taking the book from your hands and placing it back on the table.
You chuckled softly, feeling the tension of the evening slowly dissipate. "Yeah, you do. Always keeping me on my toes."
As Maggie leaned back against the couch, a comfortable silence settled between you. The warmth of the fire and the presence of each other was enough to quell the worries of the outside world, if only for a moment.
Suddenly, Maggie turned slightly towards you, her gaze meeting yours with a hint of playfulness. "You know what would make you worry less?" she teased lightly.
"What's that?" you replied, genuinely intrigued by her playful suggestion.
With a playful glint in her eye, Maggie leaned in, closing the distance between you. Before you could anticipate her move, her lips met yours in a tender, reassuring kiss. It was a moment of quiet intimacy, a silent promise that spoke volumes, offering solace and reassurance in a simple gesture.
As she pulled back slightly, a soft smile lingered on Maggie's lips, her gaze fixed on yours. "Better?" she whispered, her voice warm and filled with affection.
You couldn't help but reciprocate her smile, feeling a rush of warmth flooding your chest. "Much better." you replied softly, your voice barely above a whisper, your gaze locked with hers.
Maggie's smile widened, a glint of mischief dancing in her eyes. "Good." she murmured, leaning in once more to steal another fleeting kiss before leaning her head gently against your shoulder, a contented sigh escaping her lips. The weight of her head against you felt reassuring, grounding you both in the comfort of each other's presence.
Without a word, you wrapped an arm around her, pulling her into a comforting embrace. The weight of the day's worries seemed to melt away in those moments, replaced by a sense of contentment that only Maggie's presence could bring. The fire crackled in the background, casting a gentle warmth across the room as the night enveloped the settlement in quietude.
Time seemed to stretch and bend in the tranquil atmosphere, each passing moment cocooning you both in a bubble of serenity. The worries that had been clawing at your thoughts began to ebb away, replaced by a sense of peace and tranquility that came with being close to Maggie.
Eventually, the fatigue of the day caught up with both of you. Maggie's eyes fluttered closed, a serene expression gracing her features as she nestled closer, finding solace in the embrace. The comfort of the couch invited a tempting lull, pulling at your eyelids and inviting sleep to claim its territory.
"You should get some rest." you murmured, pressing a gentle kiss on top of Maggie’s head, feeling her relax further against you.
"Mmm, you too." Maggie replied in a drowsy tone, her words barely audible as she nuzzled closer.
Smiling softly, you hummed in agreement, letting out a quiet chuckle at Maggie's half-asleep response. With careful movements, you adjusted yourselves, preparing to leave the couch and retire to the comfort of the bedroom.
Carefully disentangling from Maggie's embrace, you offered her a hand, helping her up from the couch. Her weariness was evident, but her determination to keep going persisted, a trait you both shared. With a silent understanding, you walked together toward the bedroom, the soft light from the living room casting a warm glow in the dimly lit hallway.
As you stepped into the bedroom, the familiar sense of tranquility enveloped you both, the space welcoming and serene. Maggie moved toward the bed, shedding her stained and worn clothes before slipping into more comfortable attire, her movements slow and deliberate, fatigue weighing heavily upon her.
You mirrored her actions, changing into something more comfortable for the night. The soft, muted glow of moonlight seeped through the curtains, casting a serene ambiance in the room. As you both settled into the comfort of the bed, Maggie curled up beside you, her head resting on your chest.
You nestled close to her, an arm draping over her waist as she leaned into your embrace. The room was filled with a serene quietness, the only sounds the soft breaths you both took, syncing in a calming rhythm.
"I don't know what I'd do without you." Maggie whispered softly as sleep started to claim her.
Gently, you brushed a strand of hair away from Maggie's face, a tender gesture that spoke volumes. "Let's hope you never have to find out." you whispered back, tightening your embrace. Your fingers traced delicate patterns on her back, a silent reassurance that you were there, a steadfast presence in a world that often felt uncertain.
Maggie nestled deeper into your embrace, exhaling a sigh, the tension in her body gradually melting away. Her breaths became more even, the weight of the day slowly dissipating as slumber claimed her.
The moon painted silver strokes on the walls, a celestial artist leaving its mark on the canvas of the night. In the embrace of shared warmth, you drifted into a peaceful slumber, intertwined in a quiet intimacy that whispered promises of unwavering support and unspoken devotion that you had built together amidst the turmoil of the post-apocalyptic reality.

a/n: an anon requested a glenn x reader x maggie fluff, and i decided to make it into this little oneshot :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
glenn knew immediately you and maggie were suffering from the excruciating side effects of menstruation, just by the way you reacted to little things. he knew this from experience; the first time he noticed something like this happening was back at the farm, where he confronted dale and asked him if all the women were on their periods. thankfully dale talked some sense into him, warning him to never ever ask a woman if she was on her period -- as a man. because that would end in a slap to the face or worse. glenn wasn't one to make people upset like that, especially his girlfriend or his best friend.
"fucking hell. was not excited for this shit again," you groan, clutching your lower back in pain.
maggie sighs, she's standing in your cell searching for pads or tampons. "shit! we're out."
you sit up slowly, wincing from the stabbing pain in your uterus. "we're out of what? pads? tampons? diva cups?"
maggie turns to you. "everything, honey. gonna have to make a run."
"no you won't, i prepared for this." glenn was standing at the entrance, one hand holding up a small duffel bag and the other holding a bottle of ibuprofen.
you jump in surprise, not expecting him to be at your beck and call that damn quickly, but goddamn was he a lifesaver right now.
maggie runs up to him and hugs him, making him drop the bag abruptly to embrace her. you smile and chuckle, getting up to grab the bag and unzip it.
"holy fuck, glenn! where did you find all this?!" inside were dozens of unopened feminine hygiene products. "i mean, this is the jackpot of all jackpots!"
maggie bends down to search in the bag as well. it was quite an amusing sight to glenn, seeing his two favorite women's eyes light up at the sight of menstruation products. it was like you were children opening a birthday present.
"well, you know me. this is the stuff i do," he gushes. you turn to him and stand up, walking over to him to embrace him in a hug. "oh, oh, you're crushing my ribs!"
maggie and you giggle, and she ruffles his hair. "always taking care of us. might as well be one of the girls, right?" you tease after pulling away from the hug.
glenn blushes while you snatch the painkillers from his hand, opening the bottle and taking out two pills. you hand the bottle to maggie, who does the same. "sure. i mean, whatever prevents me from staying out of your line of fire when someone pisses you off."
"you could never make us mad, baby," maggie reassures.
after swallowing the pills with a sip of water you nod and look back between maggie and glenn. "daryl could!"
and you all bust out laughing.

Tumblr media
Aprox. 1999- Daryl and Y/N are 13 and 14 respectively .
“Y/N, this is Daryl. Why don’t y’all two go play up in your room while the grown ups talk?” Your Dad said, a blonde boy who looked about your age stood behind him with his dad and older brother.
“I have homework, Dadd-“ You stopped when you saw the anger fester on your Dad’s face. “Uh.. we’ll go on a walk.”
“Alright.. why don’t you go to the gas station..” he reaches into his pocket and takes out his wallet, handing you a ten dollar bill. “get somethin’ for yourself and your new friend.” You took the money and nodded before closing your notebook and walking past the men. Daryl followed you.
“Son of bitch treats me like I’m six and not fourteen..” You turned to the boy. “Wanna get some candy?”
“You buyin’?” You laugh and nod.
“C’mon.” You nod at the direction of the highway. He smiled and followed you.
Aprox. 2001
“Daryl, wake the fuck up. I’m gonna leave in ten minutes with or without you, you fuckin’ ass.” You yell into your best friend’s room. Sighing, you put your hand against your forehead and walked to the living room.
“Y/N.. how old are you now?” You look up to see Merle Dixon creepily staring at you.
“Not old enough… I will never be old enough..” You gag.
“Well you’re the one who came into my house lookin like that.” He licks his lips.
“Yeah. I sure did. For Daryl. Go fuck yourself, Merle.” You flip him the bird.
“Shit, sorry Y/N. I overslept.” You turn around to see Daryl leaving his room shirtless, a girl, who you recognized from school, but not well enough to know the name of, walks out behind him. She stands awkwardly for a moment before waving at you and leaving.
“And who was that?” You asked, wiggling your eyebrows.
“Er.. Sandy. I think. I dunno.. I was drunk as shit yesterday.” You laugh to cover up the jealousness you felt.
“Please..” You say, still laughing. “Hurry up and get dressed before I leave you here to go to this lake by myself.” You shake your head and walk out of the house to your car.
Aprox. 2007
“I don’t get it dude.” You said, shaking your head. Daryl sighs.
“There ain’t nothin’ to get. He’s a cheatin’ asshole who would have done the same thing to anyone.” You glance up at him and wipe the tears off your cheek.
“Yea.. I guess. I just..” You sigh. “I thought he was the one.. you know?” You scoff at yourself. “Stupid.”
“It ain’t stupid. He’s stupid.” Daryl flicked the cigarette butt on the ground and smashed it with his heel. “Never liked his sorry ass.” He mumbled. While that was true, he mostly didn’t like him because he was with you.. and that was what Daryl wanted more than anything.
Aprox. 2009
“Ugh..” You groan. “I hate school, why did I become a teacher?” You hypothetically ask Daryl. He was laughing at you from across the living room. You were grading papers while Daryl was watching a wrestling match on TV.
“‘Cause you wanted to ‘Make an impact in kids' lives’.” You roll your eyes.
“Fuck the kids.” You mumble, glaring at the stack of essays in front of you. “Whose winnin’?”
“I reckon Randy Orton.. seems most likely.” You nod.
“Yeah..”
August 15th, 2010. 11 Days pre-apocalypse.
“Have fun on the campin’ trip.” You said, switching your phone to your other ear.
“Yeah.. Merle’s comin’ along so.. I probably won’t.” You frown at your pessimistic best friend.
“Why is that douche comin’? Thought you said he was out on another bender?” You ask, reminding him of the conversation you had the day before.
“He was. Came home last night full o’ beer. He was high as shit too. Guess he just wants to prove he’s more capable than me.” Daryl sighs. “How’s Atlanta? Fuck any politicians yet?” You loudly laugh.
“I hate you, no I have not. But if I do, I’ll call you right after.” You pulled your phone off your ear when you felt it buzz, your Dad was calling you. “My Dad’s callin’. I gotta go, bye Dar.”
“Stay safe.” With that you end the call and accept your Dad’s.
August 27th, day after the apocalypse began.
“C’mon, you can come to my house.. it’s safe there.” You look at your friend, Maggie, and nod. “We can make signs to leave on the road, that way if your Dad or someone comes looking for you, they can find you.” You smile at her.
“It’s okay. Let’s go.. I guess.” You say monotonous.
The day Carl gets shot. (Present day.)
“Shit! Whose that?” You exclaim, taking the dish gloves you had on to grab your gun and go to the door. “Someone’s here!” You look at the figure for a moment and realize he was carrying a child. You looked behind him and saw Otis along with another man running behind him. “They’re with Otis!” Hershel walks up to you and looks out the door over your shoulder. Maggie runs up behind y’all with her binoculars.
“Shit the boy is injured!” She yells
“Was he bit?” Hershel asks. The rest of the Greene family poured out the front door.
“Shot. By your man.” The man, who was wearing a sheriff’s uniform, said.
“Otis?” Patricia wondered aloud.
“He said to find Hershel, is that you?” He sobbed. “Help me, help my boy.”
“Get him inside!” Hershel hurries into the house, the entire household is on high alert. “Patricia get my whole kit.” He folds his sleeves up. “Maggie, painkillers— Coagulates— grab everything!”
“Okay!”
“Y/N, clean towels, sheets, alcohol!” You run off to get everything Hershel asked. You grabbed everything faster than you knew you could run.
“Here!”
“Pillowcase!”
“I-Is he alive?”
“Pillowcase quick!” You take one off of one of the many pillows and hand it to him.
“Fold it! Quickly! Make it into a pad!” He grabs Rick’s hands and places them onto the makeshift pad. “Put pressure on it.” He puts his stethoscope on and listens around the boy’s chest. “I've got a heartbeat… it’s faint.” The man shakes.
“I’ve got it— step back!” Patricia says, pushing back the stranger.
“Maggie, IV.”
“We need some space.” Maggie yells, pushing him back more.
“Y/N, take him outside.” You nod and grab his hand, dragging him back out to the porch.
“W-Wait no— My boy h-he.. I can’t leave Carl, what're you doing?”
“What’s your name?”
“R-Rick.” You nod.
“I’m Y/N. They need their space in the room right now. Let’s stay out here and talk.” Rick looked at you like you were crazy but nodded. “Okay. Good. Uhh.. where were you before what happened?”
“Um. Uh. T-The highway. With my group.”
“Oh you’ve got a group! That’s awesome. How many people are in your group?”
“T-Ten. M-My best friend Shane he’ll be here with uh… with Otis any second now.” You nodded.
“That’s nice that you have a best friend in your group. Who else are you close to in the group?”
“M-My wife.. Lori.. s-she oughta be here..” He sobs, putting his face in his hands.
“Run!” Your neck snaps to the field. Otis and another man were running.
“Stay here, what’s your friend’s name?”
“Shane.” You nod and run to the men.
“Shane, you go to Rick. I’ll stay with Otis and help him get to the house.” You say to the black haired man. He nodded and ran quicker. You jogged past him to Otis. You wrapped your arm around him and hauled him back to the house.
Later that day, Otis and Shane left to get medical supplies for Carl while Maggie took the horse and went after Rick’s wife, Lori. A man called Glenn followed shortly after Lori’s arrival, he had T-Dog with him who was injured. Maggie seemed smitten with Glenn. He told you all that the rest of the group would be there the next day.
Shane came back that night with a heavy heart. Otis sacrificed himself for him. The night was full of grief.
The next morning, you woke up late. Everyone was outside helping the rest of the group settle in. You met Carol first, you told her you were sorry about her daughter and that you would help however you could. She thanked you and you helped her set up her things. You met Andrea next, she was a little more standoffish but you didn’t mind.
After meeting Andrea, you retreated into the house, deciding to start on lunch. It wasn’t much, but you were able to make salads with the crops on the farm. Carol came to help you after a while.
“So.. how are you related to the Greenes?”
“Oh I’m not. Maggie and I knew each other before the spread. We were hangin’ out when everythin’ went to shit and I couldn’t get back to my Dad.”
“I’m sorry about your Dad.” You shook your head.
“S’fine, didn’t like him that much. Mostly my best friend that I miss. I don’t know if he made it out.” You snort. “Probably did though.. he and his brother were out hunting when everythin’ happened.” She nods.
“Maybe you’ll find him soon.” You smile.
“I hope so. I hope he’s alive when I do.”
Carol went out to get everyone after you guys were done. It took about ten minutes before everyone
came into the dining room. There wasn’t enough room for everyone at the table, so some stayed standing.
“Where’s Daryl?” Andrea asked before shoving a forkful of lettuce in her mouth. Your mouth went dry.
“He’s comin’, he was getting stuff ready to go after Sofia.” Rick replied. Your heart was beating out of your chest.
“N/N? You okay?” Beth pondered when she saw the look on your face. You nodded and walked out of the dining room and then out of the house. You looked around before you saw him. It was Daryl fucking Dixon.
“Dixon!” You yelled, running down the steps and to him.
“Y/N?” He stopped in shock.
“Holy shit!” You jumped on him, wrapping your arms around him.
“W-What’re you doin’ here?” He pulled you off of him and held your face in his hands. You were crying at this point.
“Maggie, she was my teacher’s assistant and when the infection started she took me here.” You stared at him. “I’m so happy you’re here Daryl.. I was so worried that you did—“ You were cut off when Daryl leaned forward and kissed you. Of course, you kissed him back, you had been wanting this since you were 18. When you broke apart you smiled. “I love you.” You admitted. He grins and kisses you again, you knew that that meant he loved you back.
“I’m so glad I found you.” He leaned his forehead against yours and smiled.
“What just happened..” You turn around to see everyone on the porch, Glenn’s head was tilted and he stared in confusion.

My World (Negan Smith x Reader !DAUGHTER OF RICK) !PART 2!
Tumblr media
PART 1
You were walking with Negan as they were taking the stuff they got from Alexandria out. You went to go and grab some stuff but Negan grabs your hand, "Nuh-uh..." Negan says while shaking his head. "What? I'm just trying to help." You say. "I don't want you lifting a finger. I mean, what kind of boyfriend would I be if I let my girlfriend do all the heavy lifting?" Negan says with a smirk. You roll your eyes at him, "You're such a jerk, y'know that?" You say with a soft chuckle. Negan was about to continue to the joke but it was interrupted.
A ring of gunshots filled the air and on instinct, Negan grabbed you and pulled you close to him and pushed you against one of the trucks. He had his whole body covering you in case the bullets came flying this way. When the gunshots stopped Negan pulled away slightly to look over his shoulder to see one of his men dead about ten feet away from you both. Your eyes widen and your breath is shaky as you hear Carl's voice.
Negan chuckles, "Stay here." He orders before pulling away. You don't speak as Negan walks over to the crowd, whistling as he does so. "Damn. You are adorable." Negan says while walking behind his men and grabbing one to use as a human shield. "Did you pick that gun 'cause it looks cool?" Negan asks with a grin. You slowly step forward and stand next to the truck so you can get a view of what's going on. You gasp as you see Carl pointing a gun at Negan.
"You totally did, right?" Negan asks. "Kid, I ain't gonna lie you scare the shit outta me," Negan says with a chuckle. One of Negan's men then lunged at Carl and Carl shot him down. I scream as this happens and Dwight lunges at him and knocks him to the floor, grabbing the gun and pointing it at him.
"NO!" You scream while running towards Dwight and trying to get the gun out of his hands. He shoves you back and points the gun at you on instinct. You stumble back and stare at him with wide eyes. "Dwight. Back off." Negan says while stepping forward. Dwight lowers the gun and looks back at Carl. Dwight notices his knife and takes it off of him.
Negan steps towards Dwight, his face close to the side of Dwight's face. "I hope I never see you aim a gun at her again." Negan hisses. Dwight's breath is shaky as he stares down at Carl, fear written all over his face. "I don't care what the situation is... You aim a gun at her again and I'll bash your brains in. Understand?" Negan asks with a smirk. Dwight slowly nods. "Good... Now apologize." Negan whispers to him. Dwight's gaze slowly meets yours and he sighs, "I'm sorry..." Dwight whispers. "What was that? Say it louder, I don't think she heard you." Negan asks with a huge grin.
"I'm sorry," Dwight says louder. "Good... Very good," Negan says in a low tone of voice, a grin still on his face. "Now help poor Carl up while I handle this..." Negan says. Negan then looks at you, a fire in his eyes that makes your blood run cold. "You. Come with me. Now." Negan hisses while walking past Carl and walking over to you. He grabs your arm and pulls you along with him. His grip was firm but gentle as he pushed you along with him.
He pulled you with him until everyone was out of sight. He pushed you against one of the trucks and put his hands on each side of your head, caging you in. "What the hell did I tell you about guns? Hm?" Negan asks with a small scowl. You stared up at him as you take a deep breath. His eyebrows raised as you didn't answer, "I said 'Don't ever stand in front of a gun' and what do you do?" Negan asks before scoffing with a smirk. "You try to rip a gun out of Dwighty boy's hands and nearly get yourself killed." He says angrily. "Now I don't know if some kind of sisterly maternal instinct triggered in your brain or if you had a goddamn death wish but I better never..." Negan says before pointing his gloved hand at you inches away from your face before continuing, "EVER... See you do anything like this shit again. I better not tell you a third time because if it comes to that I will lock you in this place. Don't test me." Negan warns. You stare up at him with your chin quivering, "He pointed a gun at my brother." I say with a whisper.
"...He pointed a gun at you. His instinct was to point a gun at you and you are goddamn lucky his instinct wasn't to fire it." Negan says in a low and menacing tone of voice as he moves his hand back to the side of your head. You swallow the lump in your throat, "I was just trying to protect him..." I mutter. "I'm trying to protect YOU," Negan says angrily while grabbing your shoulders and shaking you slightly. "You could've been killed, don't you get that?" Negan says, narrowing his eyes and furrowing his eyebrows.
"If you get killed or hurt on my watch I don't know what I'd do," Negan says in a lone tone of voice. A soft tear rolls down your cheek and Negan sighs. He moves his hand to softly wipe the tear off your cheek, "I'm not saying this to upset you." Negan says. "I'm saying this because I care about you. I don't want to see you hurt or killed." Negan says, his tone softer now.
He holds your cheek in his hand before leaning in closer to you, his face now barely an inch away from yours. "Promise me... Promise you won't do anything like that again... Because next time... I won't go so easy on you." Negan whispers, his gaze burning holes into your skull. Your breath is shaky and your legs tremble as he made you feel weak in the knees as he was so close to you. "I... I promise." You whisper. Negan grins, "Good girl..." He mutters. He then closes the gap between you two and softly kisses you.
The kiss was gentle and passionate and it was obvious Negan was enjoying it. One of his hands snaked around your waist and pulled you closer against him while his other hand remained on your cheek. You could feel him smirking against your lips as he kissed you. The kiss got a bit rougher, he wanted more… So much more.
He then pulled away, your lips making a small pop as he does so. "Mmm... Every time I kiss you I just can't seem to get enough." He says while licking his bottom lip. "You taste as sweet as sugar..." Negan says with a chuckle. You chuckle too, "You taste like cigars..." You say. "Hm... Is that a bad thing?" Negan asks. "No... I kinda like it." You say with a smirk.
Negan grins, "Ohhh... You make me want to take you right here." Negan says while gripping your waist tightly. "But I gotta deal with your pain in the ass of a brother," Negan says before leaning in and kissing you on the forehead. "But just know... I am hard as a rock right now." Negan says with a chuckle. You smirk at him. "Now... I want you to go into our bedroom and stay there. I'm not asking, I am telling you. Okay?" Negan says while pointing at you again. I nod and he smirks. "Good... Run along." Negan says while stepping aside. As you walk past him he turns to face you and slaps you on your behind as you walk off.
You jump and turn to face him and rub your stinging butt cheek as you walk off. You grin and chuckle.
When you got to your room you sat on your bed and grabbed the book on your nightstand. You read your book for a while until you heard the door opening. You turned your head and saw Negan walking inside. When he saw you he grinned and put his arms out like he was showing you off, "My my… What a sight." Negan says. You squint your eyes and smile at him, a bit confused about what he was implying. Negan then walked over to you, "You are gorgeous." He says while resting his hand on the side of your face and kissing the top of your head.
You smile at him, "Your sister is gorgeous..." Negan says while stepping to the side, showing Carl in the room with you both. Your smile fades as you stare at him. Carl stares back at you and Negan looked between you both. Negan chuckles, "Don't you agree?" Negan asks Carl. Carl looks at Negan and stares at him for a moment before nodding.
Negan chuckles again before walking over to one of the sofas in the room. "Sit," Negan says to Carl and pointing at the sofa across from him as he sits down. You move to get off the bed but Negan, without looking at you, holds his hand up to stop you. You sit at the edge of the bed with a worried expression on your face. Carl listens and moves over to the sofa and sits down.
"I want to get to know you a little better, Carl," Negan says. "Why?" Carl asks. "Work it out. You're smart. In fact, I'm gonna tell you just how smart you are, in case you don't already know." Negan says with a smirk.
Carl glances at you, "Is it because you're with my sister?" Carl asks. Negan chuckles, "Well... Half of it." Negan says with a small shrug. "But you see, I'd expect a kid your age to be moping around, not doing a damn thing, except crying about missing the prom. But you... You go on a mission. You find me, you kill two of my men, and you're smart enough to know that I'm not gonna let this slide." Negan says, his voice going lower at the end and his smile fading slightly. A shiver went down your spine at his words... "But... I promised your sister I wouldn't harm a hair on your pretty little head. Plus, I like you, Carl." Negan says before chuckling and groaning slightly.
"Ah, I can't... I can't do it. It's like talking to a birthday present. You got to take that crap off your face. I want to see what grandma got me." Negan says in an excited tone of voice. You slightly glared at Negan and let out a deep breath... You were about to intervene but Carl spoke up before you could.
"No," Carl says. Negan didn't hesitate before speaking, "Two men!" Negan shouted, his voice getting angrier and more harsh. "Two... Men. Punishment." Negan says in a low and threatening tone of voice. He then smirks, "Do you really want to piss me off?" Negan says, his eyes still blazing with anger. "I want to keep my promise to your sister. Don't make me break it." Negan says harshly. Your breath is shaky and your entire body is tense as you see this unfold. Your heart breaks as you see poor Carl's chin quivering.
"Negan please-" You spoke but you stopped as he put his hand up again. Carl slowly reaches up and takes off his hat before going to his bandages. As Carl slowly took off his bandages Negan chuckles, "Almost there." He says while rubbing his hands together in anticipation.
When the bandage was off Carl kept it hidden with his hair. "Get that hair out of your face. Let me see." Negan orders. Carl flinched slightly when he said that, making your heart break even more. Carl moves his hair out of the way to show the gaping hole in his face. You covered your hand with your mouth as you saw his disfigured face...
"Christ! That is disgusting. No wonder you cover that up." Negan says with a huge grin. You glared at Negan before putting your attention back to Carl. You saw his lip quivering as he held back tears and that made tears well up in your own eyes... You hated seeing Carl so vulnerable and broken. "Have you seen it? I mean, have you looked in the mirror? That is gross as hell." Negan continued. You lowered your hand from your mouth and tears fell from your eyes. You hated this. You just wanted it to stop.
"I can see your socket," Negan says before chuckling. "I want to touch it. Oh, come on. Can I touch it?" Negan says. You glared at him again with teary eyes, you couldn't be a witness to this anymore, you had to intervene. "Enough. He's just a kid, he doesn't deserve this." You hiss. You see Carl lower his head as his lip and chin continued to quiver. You got up, not caring what Negan wanted anymore, and went to Carl. You wrapped your arms around his head and held his head close to your torso. Your hand was against his cheek, the side with the wound, and you rubbed your thumb against his cheek while your other hand was in his hair.
Negan's smile dropped and he leaned back slightly, watching you both as Carl's hands clung to your arm, seeking to find some comfort and safety from these cruel acts. Negan sighs before speaking, "Damn..." He mutters. "Holy hell, kid. Look..." Negan pauses before continuing, "I just... It's easy to forget that you're... Just a kid." Negan says truthfully.
Carl sniffles and he rubs his cheek against your torso, his tears wetting your shirt a bit but you didn't mind. "And I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or anything. I...* Negan says before sighing. "I was just screwing around," Negan says. You turned your gaze back to him, your face wet with tears and you gave him a harsh and hateful glare which made Negan flinch slightly, "You took it too far." You say angrily. "Just forget it..." Carl says while pulling away from you.
"Negan." You say, wanting his attention. His eyes landed back onto yours, "Take him home. He's had enough shit for one day." You say with your eyebrows furrowed and one of your hands on Carl's shoulder. "Y/N-" Negan speaks but you stop him. "I'm not asking, I'm telling you." You say, one of your eyebrows perking up as you repeated his words from earlier.
Negan stared up at you before smirking, "Fine. I gotta talk to Daddy Rick anyway." Negan says while standing up. Carl stands up with him before they both move to the door. "I'm going with you." You say. Negan spins around to look at you, "The hell you are." Negan says angrily. "I'm going whether you like it or not." You say while glaring up at him.
Negan glared back down at you before scoffing, "Alright. But I better not hear any bitching from you because whatever you see or hear while we're there..." He says while stepping toward you and getting close to your face. "Is on you..." He says in a low whisper. You continue to glare at him, the air thick and tense around you both. You then nodded. "Then let's go," Negan says.
When you made it to Alexandria Negan walked you and Carl to Rick and Carl's home. When we went up the steps and onto the porch Negan banged his bat against the door, waiting for Rick to open up...
But Rick didn't open up. Instead, the woman who was in the bunker opened the door. Negan leaned back and grinned before walking in. I walked in behind him and stood next to him as Carl spoke with the woman.
"Great, great, great, great, great, great!" Negan cheered. Negan licked his bottom lip before looking at the woman, "Where's Rick?" Negan asks. The woman began to stutter and Negan cut her off, "Doooon't care... Where's Rick?" Negan says in an almost sing-song type of voice. "Um, out scavenging for you." She says nervously. "Cool. I'll wait." Negan says with a grin.
"Um... He went out pretty far. They might not be back today." The woman says. "We're running really low on everything. We're practically starving here." The woman says. You watched Negan's eyes widen with the grin still on his face and he leans back a bit. You close your eyes and sight deeply, you knew what was coming. Negan never knew how to keep his mouth shut.
"Starving?" Your shoulders slumped and you held the bridge of your nose with your index and thumb as you felt annoyance and frustration creep up into your body. Negan then points at her and looks at her up and down, "You?" Negan asks. "By 'practically,' you mean 'not really.'" Negan says with air quotes. You facepalmed your hand into your face and sigh again. The woman stared at him for a moment before breaking out into a sob. She turned away from Negan as she cried. Negan shook his head and turned towards you and Carl as you lifted your hand away from your face. Negan chuckled, "Really?" Negan muttered as he stepped towards you both. You crossed your arms over your chest and narrowed your eyes at him, "You people seriously don't have a sense of humor." Negan says to Carl. You smacked Negan against his chest, "Stop being a douchebag. Apologize to her." You ordered. Negan sighed before turning back to her, "Excuse me." He says while stepping forward.
"What's your name again?" Negan asks. "Olivia." The woman says with hints of anger, frustration, and sadness in her voice. "Right. Olivia." Negan says before touching her arm. She turned to face him, "I am sorry for having been so rude to you just now." Negan says.
"And um... My lady friend here has been saying I shouldn't be so douchey and uh... I wanna be better for her." Negan says. You rolled your eyes when he said 'lady friend'. "So... I'm sorry," Negan says again. Olivia glances at you and then back at Negan before she nods. Negan then turns to you and has his arms out while leaning back, "Happy?" Negan asks. You just stare at him with your eyebrows furrowed and your arms still crossed over your chest. Negan turns back to Olivia, "She's not always this stuck up." Negan whispers to her but you still heard it.
Negan then chuckles, "All right, well, I'm just gonna put my feet up and wait for my stuff to get here." Negan says before turning away. "Olivia." He turns back to Olivia, "Would you be a lamb and make us a little lemonade? Now, I know I left you all some of that good powdered stuff." Negan says. "Well, I'm supposed to be with-" She was interrupted. "Make it." Negan orders, his voice harsher and it made her flinch. "Make it. Take your time. Make it good." Negan says in a softer and quieter tone of voice.
Olivia quickly runs out of the home and you sigh again. Negan then walked over to you and got close to your face, "That better?" He asks. You turned your head to meet his gaze. "Still douchey." You say with a small smirk. Negan grins at you before turning his attention to Carl, "All right, kid! Take me on the grand tour." Negan says. Carl showed him the home, and Negan checked out the water pressure and the comforts of the home.
Carl then showed him Rick's room and Negan chuckled before turning to you, "Y'know... We could always kick the kid out and screw on your dad's bed. Like rebellious teens." Negan suggests while lifting his eyebrows, not even being bothered he said that out loud in front of Carl.
You clicked your tongue and raised your eyebrows at him, not saying a word. "No? Not your thing? Alright." Negan says while putting his hands up in defense. "Moving on..." Negan mumbled with a smirk before leaving the room. You rolled your eyes and followed him. The tour was going as you expected... Which was just Negan screwing around the house... But then he got to a door in the home and your heart dropped.
"How about this one?" Negan asks. "Oh, i-it's just the water heater," Carl says. Negan looked at you both and could see the panic on your faces, "Are you serious, kid? Come on." Negan says before grabbing the door handle.
Negan opened the door and he stopped in his tracks. "Oh-ho, my..." Negan mumbles as he sees Judith standing in her crib. You and Carl glanced at each other nervously. Negan handed Lucille to Carl before stepping towards Judith. "Look at this little angel," Negan says. He got closer to her before lifting her out of her crib and holding her against him. He chuckled as he bounced her around before looking at you.
"Did you know about this?" Negan asks. You swallowed the lump in your throat and shifted around nervously. "Of course you did..." Negan smirks. He looks at Judith before looking back at you, "She looks like you." Negan says before turning his attention back to Judith.
"Let's go outside and get a breath of fresh air hm...?" Negan says to her before walking out of the room. You and Carl follow him outside and he took off his jacket and laid it on one of the chairs before sitting down. Carl sat next to him and you leaned against the wall of the house. Negan held Judith close to his chest and rested his chin on top of her head, "Oh, this little girl is precious." Negan says with a content sigh. Even though you were still a bit nervous you couldn't help but feel your heart flutter as you saw Negan be so gentle with Judith... You stared at the two with love in your eyes.
"Oh, I like it here," Negan says. "I might just have to stay here." He says while pulling Judith back a bit so she was facing him. Her little eyes looked around her surroundings and her eyes finally made it to you. Her eyes widen at you. Her little hands then reached out to you and she whimpered. Your mouth parts and you suck in a breath as you see her reach out to you. "Oh... Seems like somebody wants you." Negan says. Judith bounces a bit on Negan's knee and lets out little cries as she was a bit desperate to get into your hold... You had only met Judith once before this and already she loved you so much... It's almost as if she knew exactly who you were from the start.
Negan stands up and walks towards you. Judith pushes herself towards you and you gently take her into your arms. Her arms wrapped around your neck and she rested her cheek against your shoulder as you held her close and rubbed her back. Negan admired you both for a moment, he felt the same fluttering feeling in his heart as you when you saw them together.
"Oh... This is just beautiful." Negan says while placing one of his hands on your shoulder and the other on Judith's back. "Mmmm... This is makin' me feel things I've never felt before." Negan says while pulling you two into a hug. What Negan said was true, the feeling he had in his body was something he hadn't felt before. Was this what it felt like to want kids? Be in love? Or both? He was confused about it but he liked it. It was a good feeling.
You rested your cheek against his shoulder and closed your eyes... It was moments like these that you cherished with Negan. He was usually scary and a dick most of the time... But soft moments like these melted your heart. Negan gave you a tight squeeze before pulling away, placing a soft kiss on your head as he does so.
"Y/N. Can I talk to you... Privately." Carl asks. You mumble a 'yeah' and hand Judith back to Negan. Judith let out small whimpers and almost a cry when you handed her back to Negan. It was obvious she wanted to be in your arms some more. You followed Carl into the home, Negan's eyes burning a hole into the back of your head. You followed Carl until he spun around, making you jump slightly. "What the hell are you doing?" Carl asks. You stare at him confused, "What?" You mutter.
"Why are you with him? Seeing you with him like that makes me sick." Carl seethes. You sigh and look around the room. "I love him." You answer, sounding like a lovesick fool. "But why? He's a horrible person." Carl says. You sigh again, "You don't know him like I do." Carl scoffs. "I don't need to because I know this version of him. You're so blind Y/N." Carl says. "Carl. Enough." You say with a huff. "Is it some kind of Stockholm syndrome shit or something?!" Carl shouts. "Jesus, no! He didn't kidnap me Carl he saved my life." Carl's eyes widen. "...What?" Carl mutters. You take a deep breath, trying to find a way to explain this to Carl. "I was alone... For the longest time when the apocalypse started. I eventually ran out of food and energy to go and get food. I started to waste away." You say and Carl stares at you intensely. "Right before death... He found me. He saved me, nursed me back to health, fed me, took care of me... We just happened to fall in love down the road. It wasn't planned. I wasn't forced. It just happened." You explained. Carl just stares at you before looking down at the ground. "Listen to me, little brother..." You say while walking over to him and gently grabbing his shoulders. Carl's eye looked back into yours. "He didn't force me into anything... I can leave whenever I want." You say in a low tone of voice. "Then why don't you?" Carl asks with his voice cracking with emotion. You couldn't lie to him... But how could you tell him the truth? You knew he'd be crushed...
You took in a deep breath before speaking, "Because I don't want to." You say your voice barely above a whisper. Carl shakes his head slightly, "Why?" He asks. "I love him. I... I hate the way he sometimes. He listens to me to an extent but when his mind is made up he rarely ever changes his mind... If ever." You say. "But he's never hurt me... He would never hurt me, I know that. You just gotta know that too..." You say, trying to reassure him. "I'm safe. Whether I'm with you and Dad or if I'm with him... Either way, I'm safe." You say while squeezing his shoulders gently.
"How do you know he loves you? How do you know he'll keep you safe?" Carl asks. "Carl. I've been with him for a long time now. He has only treated me with love and respect. Now, I admire how much you worry about me. But you don't need to worry... He'd never hurt me." You repeat.
Carl closes his eye and sighs. He then nods and you smile. "Alright... Let's go back outside." You say before turning away and walking back to the porch. When you both made it outside both of your hearts dropped when you saw Negan and Judith were missing.
"Shit... A-Are they back in the house? Did you hear them come back inside?" You ask frantically, your voice stuttering a bit as you spoke. "I... I don't know." Carl says nervously. "Alright um... You check around the house I'll check inside." You order, Carl nods in response. You head back instead and start calling his name, "Negan? Negan!" You called out, looking throughout the home. You walked over to the bathroom door but before you could open it Negan did it for you and he stepped out of the bathroom, Judith in his arms. "You called?" He says with a smirk. You sighed in relief and your body relaxed. "I shaved... You like?" He says while raising his eyebrows. You narrowed your eyes at him and tilted your head before reaching up and rubbing your knuckles against his bare face.
Ever since you've known him you've never seen him clean shaven and somehow he still looked just as handsome as before... Some men didn't look so good without their facial hair, and some didn't look good with facial hair. But the fact Negan looked good both ways left you in awe. You smile softly at him, "You look handsome." You say. He smiles down at you, "Thank you, baby." He says before leaning down to kiss your forehead.
"So... That conversation sounded heated. Was it about me?" Negan says with a huge grin and raises his eyebrows. You smirk, "Maybe." You say while touching Judith's hair. "Hmm... Now... Did I hear that you love somebody? I wonder who you were talking about." Negan says with a teasing smirk. "Were you listening to our conversation?" You ask with a small chuckle. "Well, darlin' it was kinda hard to ignore when you both were yelling at each other," Negan says. "Alright... Fair." You say. "So you love me huh?" Negan says with a grin. You roll your eyes with a smirk, "You know I do." You mutter. Negan inches a bit closer, "I want to hear you say it." He mutters.
You glare at him, "...I love you." You say. Negan hums, "Mmm... Every time I hear you say it I just fall more in love with you." Negan says. "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" Negan says teasingly and you roll your eyes with a groan, "Ugh... Shut up." You say with a small laugh and you push his shoulder slightly.
"Alright, enough of the corny stuff. Let's go back to Carl okay?" You say while turning away but Negan grabs your hand, "No, no, no... Wait a minute. Come here..." Negan says while pulling you closer to him. When you were close enough Negan bent down to kiss your lips gently. As he kissed you Carl came rushing into the room, he was still looking for Judith in a panic. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw Judith in Negan's arms but then his face turned one of anger and disgust when he saw what you and Negan were doing.
You didn't notice Carl had come into the room... But Negan did. As he kissed you he opened his eyes to look at Carl. His eyes were narrowed slightly and he glared daggers at Carl. He was practically marking his territory and Carl knew it. Negan enjoyed openly claiming you as his at the sanctuary, he liked the uncomfortable stares from everyone around them, especially from the men...
But this was a different type of claiming. He loved claiming you in front of Rick or Carl. He liked seeing them squirm and glare at him because he knew he was getting under their skin.
Negan then pulled away and smirked at the blush on your cheeks.
"Alright now pretty girl... How about you take this one while me and Carl get dinner started hm?" Negan says while handing Judith off to you. You nodded and glanced at Carl before walking off into the living room. You sat on one of the couches and bounced Judith on your knee. You saw she was itching her eye and she looked very tired. You noticed the binky on the table and you reached over to grab it, "Here sweetheart... Why don't you take a nap hm? It's been a long day." You say while placing the binky in her mouth. You leaned back on the sofa and rested her head against your chest, above your heart.
You couldn't help but think back to the very first time you held Carl.
You were eleven and your aunt Evie was bringing you to the hospital to see your mother and your new baby brother. You were nervous when you stood out of the hospital room, waiting to see what was going on... Then your father opened the room door to greet you.
"Hey, sweetheart..." Your father says before kneeling to your level and grabbing your arms gently. "Are you ready to meet your baby brother?" He asks. You nervously nodded and he smiled at you before standing up and stepping aside. When you slowly walked into the room you saw a curtain on the side of your mom's bed. You slowly stepped forward, your father inching close behind you. You then stepped past the curtain and your mother smiled at you, "Hey hun..." She says with a happy grin. "How's my girl?" She asked. You were about to answer but then... You saw him. The little boy on your mother's chest. Your eyes widened and your mother followed your gaze.
"Would you like to hold him?" She asks. You nodded and your father told you to sit down on one of the chairs in the room. You sat down and watched closely as he took the boy away from your mother's arms and slowly walked over to you. He told you how to hold your arms out so he could rest against you. "Hold him against your heart. Babies love the sound of the heart beating." Your mother explained to you. Your father mumbled 'Cradle the neck' as he handed the boy off to you. You took him into your arms and held him against your chest, right above your heart. The boy snuggled close to your chest and continued to sleep.
"His name's Carl." Your father said to you. As you held him you couldn't help but think about how precious he was... You felt a maternal bond with this boy instantly.
Even now you still felt that bond. You felt the overwhelming urge to protect Carl at all costs. To love him, to cherish him, to take care of him. Like a mother would. But Carl was older now. He can take care of himself... But... There was someone else you felt that urge for.
Judith.
You may not have been there since the beginning... But you felt the same maternal bond with her that you did with Carl.
As these thoughts entered your mind you hadn't even realized Judith was sleeping peacefully against you. You took in a deep breath and relaxed for a few minutes. You wanted to savor this moment for as long as you could. You knew you had to leave Judith eventually, which made you sad. You wish you could be with her more but it just wasn't meant to be...
In the middle of your thoughts, you began to smell something... Good. You hadn't been in a homey environment with something that smelled good in a long time. You slowly got up, trying your best not to wake Judith, and walked into the kitchen. You saw food on the island in the kitchen with Olivia making the lemonade Negan asked for. You turned your head to see Negan sitting down at the dining room table. He turned his head and smiled, "Ah, there you are. You sit next to me darlin'." He says, gesturing to the seat to the right of him.
You walk over to the dining room table and sit down at the seat he gestured to. "She's asleep?" Negan asks while nodding his head towards Judith who was still against you. You nodded and he smiled, "She truly is precious isn't she?" Negan asks. You smile and nod.
When dinner was over a bit of ruckus was going on outside. You honestly didn't even care what was going on because you were just glad that awkward dinner was over with. Negan went outside to see what was going on while you, Carl, and Olivia stayed inside. "I'll put her in her crib," Olivia mutters while taking sleeping Judith from your arms.
As she left you were left alone with Carl you both sat in a awkward silence. Your fingertips tapped against the wood of the table before Carl broke the silence. "...Mom loved you." Carl blurted out. Your eyes met his and your body froze... How could you respond to that?
"I don't think there was a day that went by where she didn't miss you... I don't think there was a day that any of us didn't miss you." Carl says while staring at you intensely. Tears filled your eyes, "Carl... Please... I need to know what happened to her." You begged. Carl stared at you for a minute before his gaze fell to the floor. He took a deep breath, "...It was the day Judith was born. She was in labor and she was having issues..." Carl says before taking another deep breath. "She was bleeding out and she died of blood loss..." Carl explains.
You slowly nodded at his words, your gaze fell to the floor also as you thought this was the end of the story. "I had to shoot her so she wouldn't turn." You gasp and your eyes shoot back to his face. A tear slipped from your eye and you let out a shaky breath.
"Carl-" He interrupted you. "I don't want your pity. I'm sick of everyone looking at me like a sad kid without their mommy." Carl says while rolling his eyes.
You stand up and go over to his seat and kneel on the floor next to his chair. "I'm not looking at you like a sad kid without their mommy Carl..." You say while placing your hand gently on his shoulder. He looks at you with his eyes glazed over with tears, "I'm looking at you like my brother who's in pain..." You say before sighing. "...Listen Carl. I know I'm not mom. But I want to be there for you... For Dad and Judith..." You say while squeezing his shoulder reassuringly.
You watched as Carl's face turned from a look of grief to almost anger. He shrugged her hand off his shoulder and glared at you with tears still in his eyes. "How can you? You're with him. You can't be there for us when you're still with him. You chose your path." Carl says angrily. Your eyes widen at his words and your breath hitched, "Carl..." You mutter. You were about to say more but the sound of a crowd outside caught your attention. It caught Carl's attention too and he got up from his seat... He mainly wanted to get away so he didn't have to be a part of this conversation anymore.
You both walked outside onto the porch and saw Negan playing pool with a man and the people of Alexandria watching. Olivia came out not long before you and Carl did and you all watched them playing pool.
The man glanced over at you before looking back at Negan. "You got yourself a pretty one. Hard to believe she came from Rick." The man says while knocking a ball into one of the holes. You watched Negan's face from across the pool table... You knew that face. Negan smirked, his eyes squinted and you could see flickers of different emotions in his eyes. He put on a poker face as usual when he was pissed off... But you could see it on his face and in his eyes.
Anger and possessiveness flashed over his face before it went back to the smugness you always saw on his face. You gulped... This wasn't going to end well. "Y'know... I am my mother's son. I can be the leader she was. That's what this place needs. That's what you need." The man says while turning to Negan.
"So... I should put you in charge, that's what you're saying?" Negan asks. "We'd be much better off." The man says with a smug smirk. Negan took a sip of his drink before setting it on the pool table. They continued to play pool for a moment, the idea lingering in Negan's mind before he spoke. "You know, I'm thinking, Spencer. I'm thinking how Rick threatened to kill me, how he clearly hates my guts." Negan says while leaning back a bit.
"But he is out there right now, gathering shit for me to make sure I don't hurt any of the fine people that lived here." The more Negan spoke the more anxiety rose into your body. Carl looked at your face, seeing the panic and fear in your eyes as you gripped the wood on the porch.
"He is swallowing his hate and getting shit done," Negan says with a chuckle. "That takes guts," Negan says before leaning down and shooting another ball into a hole. He then places down the pool cue onto the table, "And then there's you..." Negan started. You sucked in a shaky breath... Oh god... Something bad was coming.
"...The guy who waited for Rick to be gone so he could sneak over and talk to me to get me to do his dirty work, so he could take Rick's place," Negan says while inching closer to the man. "So I got to ask, if you wanna take over, why not just kill Rick yourself and just take over?" Negan says, now barely a few inches away from the man.
The man began to stutter, trying the best way to defend himself... But Negan stopped him. "You know what I'm thinking? 'Cause I have a guess." His voice got low and threatening and it made your body tremble.
Oh god... Negan... Please don't do whatever you're about to do.
"it's because you got no..." His voice was barely above a whisper.
"Guts."
Then it happened. You gasped loudly and you jumped as he plunged a knife into the man's abdomen. But oh god... If it wasn't bad enough Negan just had to take it to the next level. Negan slashed the knife across his abdomen, the man's guts now spewing out of his body. A loud cry came out of your lips and you stumbled back a bit.
The man fell to his knees before he toppled over, blood gushing out of his body. You had never seen something so horrific... Especially by the hands of your lover. He never let you see the gruesome stuff... He always made sure you were out of sight when he did something like this. But he wasn't thinking. He just acted.
Tears fell from your eyes as your body shook in fear. Negan taunted the group, taunted the dying man on the floor. Soft cries came out of your mouth as you stifled a sob. Negan grabbed Lucille and aimed it at the group, "Anyone want to finish the game?" Negan asks, a huge grin on his face.
"C'mon. Anybody? Anybody?" Negan repeated. You saw the terror and anger on everyone's faces... But no one had anger more on their face than the woman in the front of the crowd. "C'mon... I was winning!" Negan says with a smug grin.
Then, without missing another beat, a gunshot rang in the air. You watched as the woman in the front of the crowd aimed a gun and shot it at Negan. You let out a blood-curdling scream as you lunged forward to the railing of the porch, your eyes darting over to where Negan was. You were expecting to see his body on the floor, a gunshot wound in his skull... But instead, you saw him standing in the same spot before he looked at Lucille.
"Shit! What the shit?!" Negan yelled out angrily. In the blink of an eye, Arat had the woman to the ground, pinning her down with a knife to her throat. "SHIT!" Negan yelled as he stomped over to the woman. "You just- You tried to kill me?!" Negan shouted. "You shot Lucille!" Negan yells, waving around Lucille like a madman.
"She got in the way." The woman taunts. Negan walked around angrily, his eyes meeting yours for a moment before looking back down to the ground to look at the bullet that had been shot. Your knees felt weak as your body trembled with adrenaline and fear. You felt like you were going to pass out...
Negan picked up the bullet, "What is this?" Negan asks, moving the bullet around in the air. "What is this?" He repeated. "This little bad boy you made from scratch?" Negan asks, his eyes still burning with red-hot fury.
"You may be stupid, darlin', but you showed some real ingenuity here. Arat, move that knife up on that girl's face." Negan orders. Arat did just that, she pressed her knife against the girl's face. "Lucille's beautiful, smooth surface is never gonna look the same, so why should yours?!" Negan yells. You jumped as he yelled, you had never seen him so angry before.
"Unless... Unless you tell me who made this." Negan says. "It was me. I made it." She says. Negan chuckles, "You see, now I just think you're lying. And you are lying to me NOW?!" Negan yelled. You jumped again, the adrenaline now leaving your body and leaving you in fear. The tears started to fall again as you watched this unfold. "Such a shame. Arat's gonna have to cut up that pretty face. One more try." Negan says. You wanted to beg Negan to make this stop, that this was enough and that this was inhumane... But this Negan scared you. This Negan you didn't want to infuriate more. So, like a coward, you kept your mouth shut. "It was me." The girl seethes while Arat drove her knife down her face, leaving a small scar.
Negan chuckles, "Oh! You are such a badass!" Negan says with a grin. "Fine. Have it your way." Negan says.
'No... No more of this Negan please.' You thought to yourself. "Arat..." Negan started. Oh god no...
"Kill somebody."
Your eyes widened as Arat took out her gun. The girl screamed, begging for her to stop, saying she made it... But in a blink of an eye, Arat turned her head in your direction and pointed her gun. The sound of a bullet hitting the air rung in your ears once more but much closer this time... You screamed out in fear as you thought it was coming to you. You dropped down and fell against the pillar on the porch. Blood splatted onto your face and your eyes bugged out as you saw the dead body in front of you... She killed Olivia. Why? Why did she kill Olivia? What was the point of it?
Carl dropped to Olivia's side and looked her over. She had a gunshot wound in her bottom cheek and she was very obviously dead. Your breaths were ragged and your body shook in terror. Carl noticed this, he noticed your fear. He recognized this. He felt the same way when he saw his first dead body... The first time someone died in front of him. He quickly knelt in front of you and touched your arms.
"Y/N?" He mumbled. Carl's voice sounded so distant, so far. Your vision felt blurry and your ears rang, muffling out the world around you. You felt like you couldn't breathe, you felt like your world was crumbling around you.
"Y/N listen to me..." Carl muttered. "Breathe..." He says. But you weren't listening, your eyes were still locked onto the dead body in front of you. He followed your gaze before looking back at you, "Don't look at it." Carl says while gently grabbing your chin and forcing your face towards his direction. Your eyes finally met his, "Breathe... Take deep breaths." Carl orders before taking some deep breaths himself to show you how to do it.
"I know this is scary... I've been there... We all have. But you're in shock, and I need you to come back to reality." He says. Your body shook and you did your best to mirror his breathing...
When your breath finally turned back to somewhat normal your vision cleared and your ears stopped ringing... Then, the adrenaline stopped. Your face crumbled into a look of grief and fear as you let out a small sob. "It's okay..." Carl muttered as he rubbed your arm gently. "Here... Let's stand up okay? Keep your eyes off of it." Carl says while gently grabbing your hands. He pulled you up onto your feet and you looked at her body. Another sob came out of your mouth as the tears fell, "No... Don't look." Carl ordered. You turned your gaze back to the road but then your eyes fell onto another body.
God... They were everywhere. It was like a bloodbath.
Before your body forced another sob out of you, you saw your father now with Negan. Negan, hearing your sob, looked up at you from the road. He didn't want you to witness any more of this... You've been through enough today.
Negan sighs before turning back to Rick, "I'm gonna be relieving you from your bullet maker, Rick that and whatever you left for me at the front gate." Negan says. "And however much you scavenged, it's not good enough, because you're still in a serious, serious hole after today," Negan says with a glare. "Let's move out!" Negan yelled. He then turned his attention to Arat, "Arat... Go get her." Negan ordered, nodding his head in your direction. Arat walked over to you and pulled you from Carl. You were now letting out loud sobs as everything was so overwhelming to you.
As Arat pulled you down from the porch Negan watched. His heart broke seeing you in such pain... He hated seeing the look of fear on your face, the look of grief, and the look of confusion as to why this had to happen. He watched as Arat walked away with you before turning back to Rick.
"Y'know... I hated doing that. Especially in front of her." Negan says before stepping close to Rick, "Don't make me do this in front of her again. You hear me?" Negan says in a low tone of voice. He stared intensely at Rick, waiting for an answer. Rick slowly nodded. Negan smirked, "Until next time." He says before leaving, Lucille on his shoulder as he walked off.
You cried throughout the entire ride home. When you made it back to the sanctuary Arat dragged you to your shared bedroom with Negan and shut the door behind you. You let out loud sobs and you looked around the room in utter confusion. You didn't know this feeling, you didn't understand this feeling, you hated this feeling. You didn't know how to control this feeling.
In your spiral, you grabbed a vase in the room and threw it onto the floor with a scream of anguish leaving your lips as you do so. The vase shattered on the floor... But it didn't make you feel better. You didn't know what to do...
You walked over to one of the sofas and sat down, huddling yourself into a little ball and resting your head and arms on the armrest. You sobbed into the sofa loudly... Trying your best to relieve this feeling.
Meanwhile, Negan was feeling like shit. He didn't know how to speak to you after this. Hell, he didn't know how to look you in the eye after this. He had to start slow. He got himself cleaned up first. He made sure all the blood on him was wiped off before he walked over to the bedroom.
Before he opened the door he hesitated and listened for a moment, his hand lingering on the doorknob. He could hear your cries, even from out here. He sighed deeply and rubbed the bridge of his nose for a moment. He built up some courage before slowly opening the door. His eyes scanned the room for a moment before it made contact with your body. He felt his chest ache as he looked at you. You looked so vulnerable... So sad... So broken.
He stepped into the room and quietly shut the door behind him. As he stepped forward he noticed the broken vase on the floor. He sighed before stepping around it, he didn't want to alert you of his presence just yet.
He walked to the coffee table in front of you and sat down on it so he was close to you. He watched you for a moment, his eyes soft and his lips frowned. He then reached out to you, "Baby-" He mutter but he stopped as you flinched away from his touch. His heart nearly shattered when you did that. He pulled his hand away and sighed deeply, "I... I told you you shouldn't have come... The things I do out there I-" He spoke but you stopped him. "Don't you dare blame this on me" You say while lifting your head from the armrest to glare at him with your face smudged with tears and snot. He noticed the crimson red spots on your face that mixed with the fluids on your face from the shootout with Olivia.
He sighed again, "I'm not blaming you... But darlin' I told you not to come today. I knew it wasn't going to end well and I didn't want you to witness it." He says while shaking his head, his eyes falling to the floor.
You turned your gaze to the armrest and your face softened as another cry came out of your mouth, "I didn't want to believe it... I didn't want to believe what everyone said... I didn't want to believe you were a monster." You say with a sniffle. Negan flinched at your words. He never wanted you to see this side of him, how was he ever going to fix this?
"And now I feel like a monster too..." You say before breaking out into another sob. Negan turned his gaze back to you, his eyes filled with sadness and confusion. "What? Why do you feel like that?" He asks. You shake your head and take a deep breath before speaking, "Because... Because the two dead bodies I saw today isn't even the part that terrified me the most..." More tears fell from your eyes as you spoke, "It was the part when that woman pointed that gun at you. When I heard the gunshot I thought it was over... I thought I lost you... I thought you died." You say while a small cry, "I thought you left me..." You then broke out into another sob.
Negan sucked in a large breath, "Oh... Oh, babygirl no, no..." He said quietly while gently grabbing you and pulling you into his lap. He cradled you in his arms as you cried, "I'm here baby... I'm not going to leave you." He whispers in your ear as he gently rocked you back and forth, he was trying you soothe you the best way he could.
"And feeling that way doesn't make you a monster... You're just afraid." He says. You snaked your hands around his torso and clung to him as you continued to cry. "I'm sorry you had to witness that... Darlin, I'm so so sorry you went through this today." He mutters into your ear. "I can't promise something like this won't happen again... Because if I did then I'd be lying to you, and I'd never lie to you." He says while pulling you back slightly so he could cup your cheeks between his hands.
"But I promise I won't do anything like this in front of you, okay?" He asks. You sniffled and nodded. "B... But you also promised not to hurt anyone..." You mumbled. "I promised I wouldn't hurt your family. I never promised I wasn't going to hurt anyone else." Negan says. You sighed and your eyebrows furrowed a bit as you realized he played you.
He manipulated you, but you didn't have the energy to argue with him. You just closed your eyes and tried your best to not cry anymore. He then leaned in and kissed your eyes. His thumbs wiped away the rest of the blood on your face before he pulled away. "You don't need to be afraid of me. I'm not going to hurt you. Ever. I swear that on my life." He says, his hands still gently holding onto your face.
"I... I'm not afraid of you Negan. I'm just afraid of this whole situation..." You say truthfully. "I know... And I'm sorry." He repeats. He didn't know what else to say. Truth be told he wasn't good with this type of thing.
Now he just had to say what was left in his heart, "I love you." He says. He looked at you with sad eyes, hoping you still loved him and that you'd say it back. You sighed and rested your hands on his hands that were still on your face, "...I love you too." You say while looking into his eyes. He smiled at you before pulling you back against him, your cheek now against his shoulder. He sighed in relief, the smile still on his face.
You enjoyed each other's embrace for a moment as you knew it wasn't going to last forever... You both knew hard times were coming... But as long as you both stuck by each other, you felt like you could get through anything.

WARNINGS: mentions of character death (Abraham & Glenn), mentions of gore, traumatic events, mentions of amputation, begging, mentions of pregnancy (Maggie's), Negan, unedited work.
A/N: sorry for the long break, i've been so busy with a lot of things but i have a few scrap drafts i might put together and post so i'll try my best to update my queue this week.
a long night of violence is how she could describe it, a long night of tears pouring down everyone's faces as they watched a cruel man bash in two of their friends heads without even such an ounce of mercy for their poor souls in his mind.
the night felt like the eternity but as the sun had risen and the night faded it was still like a fever dream, like this wasn't all real and she was going to have to wake up soon from this nightmare.
except this was all real, Abraham and Glenn's dead bodies with their heads smashed in that was real, all of the blood splattered on y/n's face from the slinging of Negan's bat that was real.
she watched as Rick was tossed back out onto the gravel, his hands reaching to stop himself as he followed the man's forceful orders to get on all fours while he kneeled down to him.
"i'm giving you a choice Rick and this is your grand prize, what you do next will decide whether it becomes just those twos bad day or the rest of these lovely men and women sitting in front of us"
he gestured with his hands for his men to point guns at the back of their heads and y/n could feel the barrel pressed against the back of her head making her swallow harshly.
her knees started to ache from the rocks that pressed against them, the blood of a father figure had dried on her face and she could almost feel like it had been sinking into the pores of her skin.
she felt gross to have the blood on her, she felt sick each time she even looked at the dead man who was next to her, she felt sick knowing his pregnant wife was a sobbing wreck just a few feet away.
and Carl had hated to see her cry with each strike from Negan's bat that pounded into Glenn's head like he wasn't a person but yet just a piece of meat Negan used as his beating ground.
she watched as Negan had approached Carl making her heart sink as he rested his bat against his shoulder and she watched as some of the blood smeared out onto his leather.
he held out a hand to Carl who cocked his head hesitantly as he tried to ignore the gesture but Negan smiled and cleared his throat before speaking up "take my hand kid" he spoke bitterly watching as the teen finally gave in and took the man's hand.
he was stood up and Negan had waved his arm out to the side to where the boy's father rested on the ground, blood on his face, eye bags and his eyes red as his eye were still looking like they had been watering again, like they were on the brim of tears.
he pointed at the spot empty next to his father as Carl took a few steps watching as Negan stood in front of him taking a quite consideration to the gauze over his missing eye.
"you a south paw?" he asked watching as Carl looked clearly confused by a phrase he never heard before and it made Negan re-phrase his question to him, "you a lefty?" he watched as Carl shook his head while Negan pulled out a belt and un-raveled it.
he tied a belt against the boy's arm, "that hurt?" Negan remarked watching as the boy in the hat snapped back a quick 'no' before looking down at the leather tightened on his arm.
"on the ground next to Daddy and don't forget to spread your wings boy" Negan spoke as he watched Carl lay flat on the ground, his head turning in the direction to where he could see y/n and his father.
he could see the terror on his girlfriends face, the fear stuck in her eyes as her palms were flat and sinking into the same gravel the soft flesh of his cheek had now been resting against.
he could hear the crunching of Negan's boots against the rocks, and it stopped once he could see him crouch next to him thanking Simon for the pen that was given to him,
he himself was scared of what he had planned for him, what Negan had planned to do to Carl especially in front of his father and his girlfriend who had more tears pouring down her face.
he marked Carl's arm and apologized in such an sarcastic way that Carl had never even heard a human being sound so derisive in that way, even in the apocalypse.
he could hear his father start to beg as his girlfriend looked down at the ground using the back of her hand to cover up her sniffles, to cover up the rapid breathing spilling out from her.
he could see the harsh way her body rattled as she tried to manage to stay quiet in the fear that someone else would die, in fear that maybe it'd be her or even Carl that'd be next.
the word please was pouring like a continuous river in his head, the word his father kept repeating over and over as he begged Negan to show his son some mercy, to show he himself some mercy.
"don't beg me because i ain't the one doing shit" Negan spoke roughly patting Rick against the back before he gave his next order at the quite obvious traumatized man who was on all fours before him.
"Rick pick up your ax," he paused licking his chapped lips clean before continuing what he wanted Rick to do, "and cut off your son's left arm, now i know you're gonna have to process that for a second and believe me that makes sense so i'll give you a minute"
a loud gasp of air had erupted from y/n's mouth as she closed her eyes at the feeling of the barrel pressing even harder against the back of her head making her lip shake and her eyes flood.
he stood up and rubbed his hands on the denim of his pants watching as Rick's expression turn into now an even stronger pleading one, like it was just the ocean color of his eyes and the quiver of his lip giving off all the true emotion even more than his words that were spilled in such a babble of emotion.
"i am still gonna need you to do it though or all these people are going to die, then Carl dies, then the people back at your home die, and i'm gonna keep you living for a few years just so you can think about the decision you make right now"
Negan looked around at the men and women all lined up, and yet one had the courage to speak up, y/n to be exact only had the courage to speak up because it was her boyfriends life on the line.
"you d-don't have to do t-this, We understand! please we u-understand!" she looked down at her boyfriend who almost had a few tears slipping of his own as he looked at her,
as he looked at the shaking and sobbing mess this man had turned her into, he watched the sorrow tearing through her like a walker who was hungry for flesh.
he seemed to like the fear that ran though all of them, he liked the idea of watching them all tremble while they payed the price of wiping out one of his out posts because something about the pity and the terror gave him power, it gave him control.
"I'm not so sure Rick does. So i'm gonna need a clean cut right there on that line i drew out for you! now believe me this is a screwed up thing to ask, trust me i know but it's gonna have to be clean nothing messy so our doctors can fold something over."
he watched Rick tremble as he kneeled and continued to spew out his words, "we have great doctors the kid'll be fine, probably. and Rick we're in a time frame so this needs to happen now or i will crush this fella's head in myself"
"please i can take his place" Rick begged over and over as his throat felt sore and his mouth dry while his eyes ached and his head started to pound at the idea of hurting his son.
"please Negan please" Rick begged again watching as the man ran over some stubble of his beard and shook his head with a 'no' to answer Rick's pleas for it to be him instead.
"this is the only way, not making this decision is a big decision. Do you want to see everyone in front of you die? because if you don't pick up that ax you will, and you will see everything"
Rick cleared his throat as his hands remained planted in the rocks still in a pity of confusion from the whole situation, and now Negan had started to count loudly and once he got to one Rick had his ax raised while Carl was yelling at him to go through with it.
Y/n sobbed into her hands as she could hear her boyfriend cry out for his own father to cut off his arm, and when she could hear the soft chuckle of Negan and the soft gasping of Rick and not even a subtle yell or scream from Carl but yet she still buried her face.
Negan had taken the ax away from Rick's raised arm and he reached up a hand to pull Carl up from the ground, "you answer to me, you provide for me, you belong to me" and Rick nodded his head and agreed to the fact that he had now belonged to Negan and his men.
"see that look is the look i wanted to see! and man we did it, even those dead guys with the smashed in brains get a participation award for sure" he sighed as he tossed his bat over his shoulder.
"i hope for everyone's sake you understand how things work around here, things change and right about now they've changed whatever you had going for you is over, now i'll be back in a week Rick so use the truck i'll leave to gather my shit or someone else dies."
"I can't look, I can't, Carl please"
she mumbled feeling as someone in front of her had tugged on her hands softly, but she still held them against her face in fear she would see other blood being shed that she didn't want to see.
"look at me y/n, look at me"
he spoke finally being able to pull her hands away from her face once she realized that it was Carl and he had both of his arms, he furrowed his brows softly watching as she quivered and couldn't keep her eyes away from the line that he had drawn out onto his arm.
-
once he and his men had left y/n tried to stand but she could only drop back on her knees as she looked over at the dead man on the ground next to her, she gasped as her knees felt weak.
and it was Carl who lifted her up, it was Carl's arms that wrapped around her while he gave her the comfort of burying her face into the soft fabric of his flannel to shield herself from the damage and the violence that had been done to her friend.
she sobbed so hard that she could feel it shake both of their bodies, Carl stroked over her hair and watched as she shook under his grasp, she shook so hard her body started to wobble.
she couldn't speak because every time she tried to get a word out it was just a rush of tears, a rush of gasps for air, a rush of mutters that weren't even comprehensible to him or her.
her vision seemed blurry and her head was pounding so hard and her heart beat so fast she felt like she was dying, she felt like the world had been slipping away from her finger tips.
the only word that had been able to be heard was a loud gasp of 'no' as she looked at the line still on his arm, the line where Negan wanted Rick to chop off his arm, the line that now told trembling stories.
she squeezed her hand on it so tight that even the belt hadn't cut off that much circulation to his arm, she clung to his shirt as she could hear the sound of someone's shoes crunching against the gravel.
she could hear Maggie's cries and Rick who whispered something to his son who held out onto the shaking y/n, Sasha and Rosita frozen in such a terror and disbelief, Eugene still crying softly, Aaron and Michonne who were sitting in such a pity of silence.
and the two bodies around them.
y/n had slipped to her knees and Carl had let her, he let her bury her face into the ground and he rubbed her back as he tried to stop her from hyper ventilating at the shock around her but it was no use because it felt a ton of bricks were pressing against her chest.
She could feel a second hand on her back and she could tell it was Rick's by the wedding ring that she could feel through the cotton t-shirt she had been wearing,
"oh god, t-that c-could've been y-you" she sputtered out as she still felt like she could feel the specks of blood hitting her cheek with each and every strike from Negan's bat smashing into the pour mans head.
her body ached and it felt like her lungs had now finally collapsed in from the harsh beating her heart had pushed off, her bones ached from all the shaking and her cheeks were sore from the amount of tears that had been poured down them.
"i'm right here y/n, i'm right here" he had dropped to his knees and placed his hat down on the ground, he let his knees sink into the same rocks where the bodies laid.
where Maggie's tears had poured and where they knew the rest of the lives had just changed forever because they got the shit end of a deal they should've never even taken.
"Maggie" she managed to gasp out as she could feel her limp body being lifted up by not just Carl but his father, they had lifted her up so she could be taken to Maggie.
the widow's lungs gasped for air as she looked down at the ground, her knees ached and she felt sick even sicker than before, she could feel the teen reach out and place a soft but shaking hand a top of hers and to which she had finally spoken out.
"you need to go, you need to get everyone out of here Rick" Maggie spoke still sounding so brave, like she was keeping it all together when in reality she was spiraling in her mind.
spiraling at the fact her father, her sister and now her husband the father of her child had been killed in front of her, after they had begged and after they had tried their best to bargain.
"he's our family to, we'll do this together" Rick spoke watching as Maggie sniffled and the still distraught teen next to her had nodded along with the idea as her eyes filled with seeping tears.
"he's right we'll do it t-together because we're all family"

it all started when glenn caught you checking out maggie.
your eyes had been glued to her form, not just enjoying the view of her ass from behind but her figure as she made her way to help rick with the new tractor they’d salvaged. maggie had no idea that you were doing your best at lip reading every word and catching every mundane detail. you had no idea glenn was watching.
he’s returning from the showers to maggie in their tent in the yard, getting ready for bed when he breaches the subject. the man is half expecting to get some backlash on why his eyes were on the girl from woodbury in the first place but he’s wildly surprised to hear, “you too?”
apparently maggie had caught you in action herself. breath caught in your throat, you’d been letting your eyes linger a little too long on the way glenn’s hands gripped around the rake he was using to clear up the fields after a gusty rainstorm.
none of you thought that a joke from maggie about the length of your shorts would end up with your head in between her thighs.
what you thought had been playful banter turned into a threeway makeout session against the toolshed followed by you all crashing into their tent, and a quest to rid you of your panties. hands on the front and back of your legs, the couple didn’t waste any time - not with you so eager. maggie’s making fun of your blush when she maneuvers a finger around to find you revved up and ready to go, but glenn’s pants are only tightening.
the barrage of open mouthed kisses and fingers tangling in your hair almost distract you from maggie weaseling another finger inside of you.
“such a pretty girl,” glenn is whispering into your hair from behind. a hand lays claim on your tit, squeezing and doling out pleasure even as his girlfriend picks up her pace.
“gonna have to keep quiet if you wanna come, sweet girl,” maggie advises and suddenly you’re reminded of the sunny afternoon right outside the tent flap.
maggie and glenn share a look that you don’t quite recognize yet. it’s like there’s some couple’s wavelength that you’re not on that has glenn starting on his pants and maggie ridding you of your tank top.
and just like that, your mouth is encompassing glenn’s head as he hisses, “fuck.” your cheeks hollow like it’s a setting triggered by his cock, sliding further down your throat.
“such a good girl for us,” maggie proves with a thrust of her fingers. “sayin’ yes without hesitatin’. you like watchin’ us. we’re gonna love watchin’ you come.”
you can’t complain and you have no reason to. maggie’s fingers are working out a much needed massage on your most tender muscles. a third finger has you moaning around glenn, and with every noise from you, his hands find your hair, stroking and petting as you swallow around him. he’s only tensing and throbbing in your mouth even more at the filthiness of it all; maggie’s fingers stuffed up your cunt and his cock stuffed down your throat.
a gag has him shooting his hips nearly into your face. you - in turn - grind up and down on maggie’s fingers. her lips are pressing instructions to “just wait” against your skin. it’d be easier to “just wait” if she wasn’t rubbing such precise circles into your clit - motions that you didn’t even know you liked.
the new touches and sensations are overwhelming you. you’re almost happy glenn is angling impossibly down your airway because otherwise, you’d be loud enough to provide an inappropriate work environment for everyone in the fields. you only grow louder as the woman twisting her nimble fingers inside of you doesn’t relent. you’d beg if it wouldn’t be so muffled around glenn’s cock.
vibration after vibration echoes against glenn’s length anyways. when he looks down at you, base of him in hand, he thinks you have to be the sweetest boon to ever have fallen into his lap.
he’s even more impressed when his girlfriend declares that you’re “close” and he’s getting a front row seat for how you absolutely fall apart in the wake of your orgasm. your reddened face has to be cherry now. lips swollen around glenn, all you can do is whimper when the digits extracting every ounce of pleasure they can, curl and guide you through the wet, squirming release pulsing around maggie’s fingers.
glenn spilling down your throat and maggie removing her fingers give you a break from the physical overwhelm.
your mouth isn’t ready for a break just yet though. not when you’re making the executive decision to wipe whatever’s left of glenn from your lips and settle down between maggie’s pillowy thighs, shushing her “but”s when you lower her denim shorts and sage panties.
maggie’s green eyes are flickering between yours and glenn’s. glenn is no doubt sitting back, enjoying the love of his life getting eaten out just like she deserved to after a hard morning of work in the sun. you’d had him down your throat just mere minutes ago but the sight of you so furiously bent on getting his girl off has him bricking up again.
the feel of maggie’s hands in your hair is remiscent of glenn’s and each time she tugs your strands, you’re nosing deeper. you don’t care that your face is covered in maggie’s arousal by this point. you’d be in awe of the couple; glenn’s side swept hair and maggie’s delicious demeanor - and her derrière.
tongue flattened against her entrance, you lap up maggie as if her pussy were pure nectar of the gods. her heaving exhales are. it’s all the confirmation that you need that the pattern you’re drawing with your tongue lights up every pleasure receptor in her. fingers grow harsher, a tug to match every taunting lick.
before you know it, maggie’s sweet release is filling your mouth.
even maggie can’t help but let out a few choice words and some huffy praises of, “good girl” and “what a mouth.”
glenn can’t help but look at you with an open mouth because god, you look cute with your nose covered in her slick.
there’s not enough time for maggie to laugh at her boyfriend or for you to get all flustered - not if the three of you want to work a nap into your day before dinner.
you happily accept their invitation and glenn straightens out their mussed up sleeping arrangements. he finds you a pillow, passing it to you and placing one last eager kiss on your lips before pulling his girlfriend into his arms, not unlike how she grabs you next. maggie’s kissing the top of your head and you’re forgetting all about the empty bunk back in your cell, blissed out enough to relax your head against her chest and let the sounds of the cicadas chirp you to sleep.

Now that the war is over and Negan’s living in a cell, the remaining Saviors are left in Daryl’s care at the sanctuary. Your wife isn’t all that happy about this, but the two of you decide to go to the sanctuary with Rick and Daryl in order to help keep things in order.
Rick finishes his speech to the people in the building, then taking Daryl upstairs to discuss things. Meanwhile, you and Maggie walk around the rundown factory, watching the Saviors sort their cans of food.
“Well, hello there.” A voice catches your attention, making you turn around. Your greeted by a man with his hair half-tied up, wearing a grey sleeveless tank top. You shake your head and laugh at him, knowing he has no chance, your wife just a bit in front of you, talking to another Savior. “What’s funny, baby?” He grins, letting out a small laugh of his own. You let out a long sigh, “I’m taken.” You put your hand directly in front of his face, showing off the nice ring Maggie managed to get for you back at the prison. “Oh, I see.” He nods, pausing for a moment. He’s making it seem like he’s going to back off, but he proves you wrong when he opens his smug mouth again.
“Does that really have to stop us?” The man mumbles. “Us?” You raise an eyebrow. “I’ll stop you.” Maggie suddenly walks up to the two of you, “Hey, I’m her wife.” She seethes. The guy looks shocked, simply walking away as the girl stares him down. “Hot.” You joke, Maggie snaking an arm around your waist, letting the other guys that were staring you down know you’re hers.
This doesn’t seem to stop some of the men, however, as another one approaches you now that you’re once again separated from Maggie. This time, Rick and Daryl are surrounding you, the three of you discussing the future of the sanctuary. “Hey, ma.” The unknown man smirks, interrupting Rick. “Excuse me?” Rick glares at him. “Oh, you her husband?” The guy backs up a bit. “Nah, but she’s married and you’re a pervert, so back up.” Daryl defends you this time. “Oh, so you’re the husband?” He laughs.
You scoff, “I don’t have a husband, dumbass, I have a wife.”
“Oh, ya like girls?” His tone grosses you out even more than before.
“I like my wife, now go sort your food cans with the other’s before I starve your ass and take them.” You huff. He rolls his eyes and storms off.
“We aren’t going back there.” Maggie presses her lips into a firm line as the two of you enter your shared home, back from the trip to the sanctuary. “You don’t have to tell me twice.” You laugh, still feeling icky after the situation. “I’m serious, those men are pigs, all up on you like that.” Your wife takes off her flannel jacket and tosses it on the ottoman in the small living room as you grab a snack from the pantry. Taking a bite into a cookie, you raise an eyebrow, “Are you okay?” You ask her. She’s obviously not, she’s still seething after everything, angrily sitting down on the couch and sulking like a toddler that was denied a candy bar. “I’m fine.” She mumbles with her smooth southern accent. “You’re not fine, stop being like that.” You join her on the couch, offering her a cookie, which she denies. You eat the cookie instead, “You know you’re my wife, right? You’re the only one for me.” You turn to face her, looking into her beautiful green eyes, a small smile starting to form on her face. “I love you, hm?” You press small kisses all on her face until you reach her lips, waiting for her to say the phrase back. “I love you too.” She laughs. “Good.” You kiss her lips.

Summary: the one where Carl almost gets his ass beat
It was a sweltering hot day in Alexandria; which means everyone is wearing revealing clothes. Including my dad…not the best sight to see.
For those who don’t know, my dad is Daryl motherfucking Dixon. I know, the redneck of the apocalypse. Clearly the overprotective daddy he is, he does not approve of me wearing revealing clothes, but oh well too bad dear father of mine.
Yes, the leaders son with the right hand-man’s daughter. Some people say meant to be, some say what the fuck. The ‘what the fuck’ one being my dad, my protector, my best friend. But in all honesty he loves me with Carl and that puts a nice smile on my face.
But today everyone was going to hang out by the pond closer to Alexandria. Everyone being my Dad, Rick(who I insist on calling Mr. Grimes), Michonne, Maggie, Glenn, and of course my oh so handsome boyfriend: Carl Grimes.
As I said before, to my father’s chagrin I was wearing revealing shorts, sort of, kinda, totally showing off a little bit of my ass, which my boyfriend was definitely enjoying a little bit too much for my father’s liking, which brings us to now…
“Hey kid, stop starin’ at my daughter’s ass,” this response from my dad to Car staring at my butt caused a lot of ‘oooooo’s from the group. My mouth fell open a little bit and I looked back at daddy and Carl and yell out, “Dad!”
My sudden scream of disapproval from me got a few laughs. Glenn looked over to me and said, “Oh my sweet little Y/N, when will you learn that this will not end.” He trailed off a little at the end with slight laugh, turning back to Maggie.
Carl puts his arm around my waist, and looks down at me with a smile, “Hey, darlin’, he’s right you know, I won’t get over this ass.” At the and of his sentence he grabbed at my ass and I swatted his hand away, grabbing his hat. “You’ll get this back when you learn how to behave, darlin’,” I said mocking his lil’ pet name he had for me since the start.
He pouted a little and said, “you know you love me.” I shook my head with a little laugh and looked down, then looking up into his eye a second later. “I know I do, but if you keep doin’ that my daddy is gonna beat your ass.” He smirked before licking his lips and looking around, “I thought I was your daddy.”
His response must’ve been a little too loud because everyone started laughing, my mouth was open with a dumbfounded expression, and my dad looked at Carl pissed. My dad started coming toward us and I looked to my scared boyfriend and kissed him quickly. “Run, Carl. RUN,” I said while pushing him, encouraging him to book it.
Carl finally ran with my dad trailing close behind him, everyone else laughing. I though Carl was actually gonna make it…until he tripped over a stick and daddy picked him up by the collar and pushing him against the tree.
“Boy, I’m gonna give you two seconds to convince me you should live…”
A/N: I believe this was my first real work I have ever published on Tumblr and please, please, please give me some constructive criticism. Or just feedback in general, that would be greatly appreciated. Also if you want to be added to any taglists for fandoms and/or characters or ask what fandoms or characters I wrote for, or just need to talk in general; I am almost always up, so please feel free to reach out. I love ya’ll.

Being a teenager in the apocalypse was weird. You didn't exactly get a "normal teen experience" as Maggie said when talking to her about him.
It was weird you had felt all tingly when he came up to hug you, talk to you, when your hands accidentally brushed when he was handing Judith to you, honestly everything he did gave you that weird sensation in your guts. And you did not like it one bit.
"Mags, I just don't understand what's going on. Oh my gosh, am I sick? Am I gonna die? What am I gonna do if I die? Maggie don't let me die!" You panicked grabbing her shoulders and over-dramatically shaking her. "Y/N calm down, you're not sick, or dying. You're just in love," The way she said it so dreamily made you recoil.
"I am not in love with Carl, are you crazy? Only a crazy person could be in love with him. He's weird and annoying and he snores, Maggie he snores! He also does this thing in his sleep where he talks but its not full sentences or like blabs, he just says random sentences, honestly its kind of cute. Oh my god. I'm in love with Carl, aren't I?" You cut yourself off eyes widening in realization.
"Holy shit! You're in love with Carl?" An unexpected voice laughed, popping up behind you. "Glenn! Leave her alone!" Maggie smacked his arm, "I'd suggest that you go tell him, being in the apocalypse means teen love is hard, you know back when I was a teenager-" "Thanks for the advice, Glenn." You quickly blurted out running away to avoid hearing about Glenns teen life for the hundredth time.
Tumblr media
"Carl!" You called, seeing him leaving the pig pen. "Yes?" "I don't really know how to say this 'cause I'm really scared of ruining our friendship, but I think I like you?" It wasn't supposed to come out as a question, it just had. "Like, like like me?" He asked raising an eyebrow at your giggles when he said 'like' three times in a row.
"Yeah, I like, like you. I'm honestly not really sure I've never had a crush before, I talked to Maggie and Glenn and they both told me the way I'm feeling is what having a crush is like." You shrugged looking away the giggles had been replaced by that feeling again.
"Well, I was gonna ask- Can I be honest?" He mumbled smiling a little. You nodded, frowning upon not seeing a smile or a happy reaction like you hoped. "Okay, so, I have a little bit of a crush on you too, and it's been kind of obvious to everyone for a while, but I didn't want to say anything just in case you didn't feel the same." Carl admitted, causing you to let out a breath you didn't even know you were holding, but you were still rendered speechless, not knowing the right words to say.
"So does that mean we're a couple?" He asked voice wavering in nerves, fidgeting with his fingers as if you were going to say no. "Yes! I mean, uhm, of course." You exclaimed calming down, a smile crossing both of your faces.
"Okay, good. I was worried I'd make things awkward, and you wouldn't want to be friends anymore. Do you want to go somewhere quiet, just the two of us?" Carl mentioned nodding his head slightly at Maggie and Glenn in the distance watching the both of them. "Of course, silly!" You say a giant grin on your face grabbing his hand and dragging him towards the cell block you guys are staying in.
"So, is this your first relationship?" He quizzed interlacing your fingers walking into his cell dragging you with him.
"Duh, we were in elementary school when the world went to crap!" You said smile never leaving your face, sitting on his bed dragging him next to you. "Am your first, you know," he said trailing off blush covering his cheeks. "Yes Carl, you are my first boyfriend." Your smile increasing at the foreign word.
At first, he just smiles back gazing into your eyes, then his eyebrows start to furrow as he thinks about something, "Hey, that means we can kiss now, right?" "Carl!" You squeal a crimson blush engulfing your face, shielding your face into his shoulder.
"Oh, so now you want me to do the initiating? No problem." He says brushing the loose hairs out of your face leaning down towards you, noses almost touching. You freeze eyes glued open; you don't know how to react. Your now boyfriend is about to kiss you. You can feel his breath on your face as he leans closer, then suddenly, "Carl!" you both hear a familiar voice ring out, "Carl! Im coming in," the voice now revealing himself as Rick walked in just as you two separated a blush coating both your faces. "Well looks like someone caught us," Carl points out the obvious. "I'm gonna go find Beth!" You squeak out embarrassment lacing your tone, as you squeeze by Rick.
Carl watches you leave offering a small wave and smile as a parting, turning his attention onto his dad he shakes his head as he stutters out, "Don't you know how to knock?" "I did! But clearly you didn't hear me over all your smooching." Rick protested, he hadn't knocked why would he there were no doors on the cells only curtains but you couldn't exactly knock on that but his thinking, was quickly cut short by Carl grumbles.
"This isn't any of your business Dad." "Whatever, as long as your being safe and have her consent." Rick retaliated putting his hands on his hips like a disappointed mom. "Ew dad, it was just a kiss! And I did have consent!" Carl grimaced upon hearing those words it wasn't like they were having sex not yet at least.

Abandoned corridors of the heart
Pairing: Daryl Dixon x female!reader
Timing: Season 1
Chapter Summary: An unexpected guest arrives at the camp as another member of the group goes missing. Your attempts on getting closer to Daryl fail.
Warnings: swearing, mild language
Autor's note: I'm so excited for this fanfiction omg, it's so fun to write and i really can't wait until Daryl and the reader get closer and have cute (and spicy hehe) moments. Also, I'm so unsatisfied with this chapter, I rewrote it, like, 3 times but it's still not as good as I wanted it to be :/ Also, thank you for all the support, likes, follows, and reblogs are always appreciated <3
Chapter 2: One day at a time
Tumblr media
The next day, you decided you should thank Daryl not only for bringing you here but also for the little trust he had in you. So, when you woke up, you made it your mission to find him and tell him your 'thank you's'.
You had to admit you were more than just nervous. The last time you had talked to him, it didn't go quite well and he was pretty moody towards you but you hoped it was just a first time expirience and that maybe he'd be nicer this time.
You were hoping to make a new friend in him - after all, you didn't really have friends and the fact that you saved him and he gave you a place to stay at would be a good basis for a friendship. At least, that's what you thought.
You found him pretty quickly. He was outside his tent, holding his crossbow as he seemed to be cleaning it. Next to him was another man, talking to him in what seemed to be an aggressive manner. It made you rethink for a moment - maybe another moment would be better - but you didn't know if you would have the courage to speak to him some other time , so you decided to just get it over with.
When you continued walking in very small steps, the other man went inside the tent - seemingly sharing it with Daryl - and it made you walk faster in hopes of being able to talk to the grumpy redneck before the other man came back outside. Though, it probably wouldn't really make a difference - he would still hear the both of you.
Daryl looked at you when he sensed you walking into his direction and his expression changed from annoyed to even more annoyed, making you feel small again. Still, you kept going until you were standing only a meter away from him.
"Hey," you whispered, nervously fidgeting with your fingers as he looked at you for a split second before he averted his eyes again.
"Whatcha want?" he grumbled into the cigarette, which was hanging between his lips. And the way he practically spat these words at you made you feel even smaller, so you stayed quiet for a moment in order to find your voice and think of an answer. Apparently, it was too long for him because he stood up with a 'pffft' leaving his lips and walked past you.
You turned around and watched his back for a few seconds before you jogged up to him and reached for his arm, "I- wait," your hand only graced his skin before he jerked his arm away from your reach, a scowl forming on his face.
"Sorry," you mumbled quietly becasue, somehow, you just weren't able to speak louder than a mouse around him. And, honestly, by the way he was looking at you, you were losing hope about building a friendship, pretty fast. Still, you continued to speak, "Thank you."
Daryl shook his head, smoke puffing from his mouth, "Fo' what?"
A small smile formed on your lips as you looked up at him, putting a strand of hair behind your ear, "For bringing me here," you waved your hands around, "It's nice," you paused, smiling again and folding your hands behind your back, "And also, thank you for trusting me - at least, enough to bring me here."
He scoffed loudly, pulling the cigarette from between his lips, throwing it on the ground and stomping it out, smoke, again, escaping his lips, "There ain't nothin' to thank me fo'."
You shook your head instantly, "There is-"
You got interrupted by him before you were able to finish your sentence, "Go, girl, don' need yer bullshit."
Your smile fell at his words and you didn't know why his words stung so much, after all, you didn't even really know him - but, god, they stung. You didn't dare to say anything else, afraid you'd have to hear more of his hurtful words. So, you just nodded slowly before you turned around and walked away.
Daryl watched you until you disappeared from his sight before he continued walking as well, doing what he wanted to do before you had walked up to him. Hunt. He'd almost say he regretted the words he had said but he didn't allow himself to think about you too much - he'd be gone soon anyway.
You took a moment to process the conversation - if you could even call it a conversation - and calmed yourself down, taking a deep breath and closing your eyes for a second. It was clear to you that you and Daryl definitely wouldn't become friends.
An 'oof' left your mouth when you bumped into something hard and you looked up to see a young man - probably only a few years older than you - looking down at you, an apologetic look on his face.
"I'm sorry," he exclaimed, holding you by your arms to keep you stable.
You shook your head and smiled gently at him, "It's okay, wasn't looking," you lowered your head in slight embarrassment.
The young man smiled as well and nodded softly, "Okay," he looked around and seemed to remember something because his eyebrows shot up and he opened his mouth to say something, "Me and a few others are going on a run to get - you know - supplies," you nodded in understanding as he continued to speak, "So I'm asking around to see if anyone needs anything in particular."
You held up your hands while you shook your head again, "Oh, no, I don't need anything. But, thank you-" you paused mid sentence as you realised you didn't even know his name.
"Glenn," he finished with a short nod, "Okay, gotta go, we're leaving soon," he was already starting to walk away as the words left his mouth, lifting an arm to wave at you.
You hummed and continued walking as well, trying to find a quiet place to have some alone time. You wanted to be by yourself for a bit and just think about the whole situation - become clear about your feelings.
You found a small lake, which was at the back of the camp. Walking a bit closer to the shining water, you sat down, pulling your knees up to your chest and crossing your arms over your legs. You rested your chin on your knees as you looked at the blue waves - the slight wind making them move softly.
You liked it here - at least, you thought you did. It's kind of weird - if that's the right word - to be with a group full of strangers. You felt like an outsider among them 'cause they all seemed to be so close and you just couldn't imagine fitting in. Not now, not ever. You had always been a person without many friends or people you actually cared about, so you weren't used to having that many people around you. But most of them were being really nice to you despite their clear distrust. You were hoping you'd feel more comfortable over the time - after all, you had only been there for a day.
You stayed there for a little while longer before you stood up, ready to go back to the others and help them with their daily chores. Most of them were busy already. Dale was trying to fix up his old RV - the hose seemingly making a problem - while Carol was sitting with her daughter, reading something. Lori and another woman, who's name you didn't know, were doing the laundry and you thought helping them would be the best option. You walked over to them, smiling almost shyly as you started picking up the clothes.
You managed to hang up a few pieces before a crackling noise got your attention and it seemed like it got Lori's as well because she dropped the piece she just started to pick up and jogged over to Dale, who was holding a walkie-talkie. You followed her, stopping next to a girl with blond hair as all of you waited for Dale's next move.
There was a voice coming though the little speaker and the old man listened for a few seconds, trying to understand what was being said before he spoke, "Hello? Reception's bad on this end. Repeat, repeat."
It was silent for a moment before the voice sounded again, "Shane, is that you? We're in some deep shit."
Dale held up one finger to silence Lori when she started to ask questions as the voice on the other end came through once more, "We're trapped in the department store."
The group was starting to get nervous now, everybody oviously tensing up as they realised their people were in danger. Shane was rubbing the back of his neck, staring at Dale, "He say they're trapp-"
He didn't even get to finish as the walkie-talkie made a crackling sound and the situation got further explained, "Geeks all over the place," the voice said more but it was barely audible, the crackling way too loud.
You were confused at the word 'geeks' but you quickly realised he meant the 'rotten people'. Dale tried to get a few more answers but at this point, he couldn't hear the person - called T-Dog - at all. The others started to discuss wether they should or shouldn't go after them and you just stood there, looking around almost helplessly as the group got louder, looking angrily at each other.
Amy, the girl who had been standing next to you for the past few minutes, was arguing with Shane, "She volunteered to go," she looked him up and dowm, "To help the rest of us."
He nodded, "I know," he lowered his head and looked at the ground before meeting her eyes again, "And she knew the risks, right?"
Amy stared at him in disbelief, cleary not understanding how he could be like that. You weren't even sure who they were talking about but you were, too, shocked about the fact that he was ready to leave the rest of them behind. People who wanted to help - people who put their lives in danger so the group would be able to survive.
"See, if she's trapped, she's gone. So, we just have to deal with that. There's nothing we can do," he continued talking, now looking at you for a split second, who was still standing next to Amy, then trailing is eyes to the ground for a second time.
"She's my sister, you son of a bitch," she practically spat at him before she ran away, surely wanting to be alone. And you could understand her. The worry she must've felt in that moment - it reminded you of the time when you were waiting for your mother to return. You could only hope that their story wouldn't be over yet.
And as if mother nature understood the current mood and situation, it suddenly started thundering with rain following close behind. Lori decided to follow Amy, giving Shane a long look before walking away.
The group split up afterwards, everybody doing their own thing as to dirstract themselves from their feelings. While Carol cutted Carl's hair and Shane cleaned his gun, you helped a man named Jim hanging up a line, cans attached to it. It was supposed to alarm the group if 'geeks' - as they called them - made it up the hill.
You were busy for quite a while. Everything was going good and you thought Jim was pretty good company. You were talking to him when everybody's ears perked as a loud siren like sound pierced the air. Dale immediately took his flield glasses to see what was causing the noise as the rest slowly walked over to him.
"What is it? Is it them?," Amy asked, in hopes of getting her sister back. And you, too, hoped it was them just so everybody would be able to reunite with their loved one's.
"A stolen car is my guess," Dale answered, following the car with his eyes as it drove up the hill, parking right next to his RV. Carl covered his ears when the loud beeping sound became too much for him.
Shane and Amy almost sprinted towards the car when the door opened and Glenn stepped out, suprisingly wearing a wide grin on his face.
"Holy crap, turn that damn thing off," Dale exclaimed, pointing his finger at the korean man. But he didn't even get a chance to as Amy started pestering him with questions about her sister, "Is she okay? Is she all right?"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah," he held up his hands as Shane forced him to sit in the car again in order to pop the hood. Jim made the sound stop as Amy continued to ask about her sister, "Where is she? Why isn't she with you?"
"She's fine. Everybody is," Glenn smiled and that seemed to shut the blond girl up, nodding her head slowly. You walked over to her and rubbed her am in a comforting way, which made her give you a small smile - a silent thank you. Glenn apologised for the loud noise just before a big Truck approached.
Amy freed herself from your grasp when she saw another blond girl stepping out - you assmued her sister - and ran towards her, giving her a big hug, both of them laughing in happiness.
Everybody started to hug each other and you had to admit you felt a little left out, you weren't close enough to them to hug anybody. So you looked down, trying to make yourself somewhat inivisble - not that it was hard. Glenn seemed to notice you anyway and thought it wouldn't hurt to see you smile as well. So, he made his way over to you and wrapped you into his big arms, catching you of guard for a second before you returned the hug.
You pulled away after a moment, looking at him with a small grin, "I'm glad you're okay."
He nodded softly, "Yeah, me too."
He turned to Shane when he asked the young man how they even managed to get out on their own, "The new guy. He got us out."
Just then, another figure stepped out of the truck, putting his hands on his hips as he made small steps into the camp. He was wearing a police uniform but it looked dirty and used, showing his fight to survive on the oustide.
You jumped a little when Carl started running towards the man, screaming in happiness, "Dad!" The older man engulfed the child in his arms, hugging him tight to his body. Lori was following close behind, looking at the man in pure shock before she wrapped her arms around the both of them.
You were happy for them - all of them - you just wished you could've had the same luck with your mother.
Later that night, when everything was dark already, your group was sitting in a circle, Rick telling his story. And it amazed you, gave you hope, knowing that even in a shitty situation like this, good things can happen.
After some time, Dale turned his head into Shane's direction, "Have you given any thought to Daryl Dixon?" he took a sip of his drink, "He won't be happy to hear his brother was left behind."
Shane shook his head, folding his hands above his knees. And you were a little shocked since you didn't even think about Daryl having a family here. Then again; it'd explain the man you saw him with this morning.
They started dicussing who would be the one to tell Daryl about Merle's fate, T-Dog volunteering first and then Rick. In the end, they decided Rick should do it 'cause they were scared the situation would get worse if a black guy told Daryl about it. You didn’t think it’d make a difference, but it’s not like anybody would care about your opinion.
"I stopped long enough to chain the door," T-Dog said, his head lowering in guilt of leaving a man behind, "Staircase is narrow. Maybe half a dozen geeks can squezze against it at once. Not enough to break it," he paused for a moment, looking at everyone, "Dixon's alive and he's still up there, handcuffed on that roof."
He stood up and left after that, going into his tent to call it a night and leaving the rest of the group.
"I'm gonna go sleep, too," you spoke, standing up, stretching your legs and arms, and yawning loudly. The others smiled a bit and said their good night's to you.
You laid in your tent that night, staring at the 'ceiling' and thinking about the day. It was okay - better than the days before - and you actually felt like you could be happy if you got used to this place - to the people living there. You were scared of being happy here because that would mean you accepted the fact that you'd lost your home and your mother. It would mean you're letting go of the past. But you tried to tell yourself that it's okay to miss someone, that it's okay to let go, that the hurt will fade, that it's okay to move on. You tried.
