Midnight Magica

The last set of some magical girl characters I adopted from my friend Wanderstar on toyhouse (you can see their page here: https://www.deviantart.com/adorkastock/art/Gang-s-All-Here-Group-Pose-Reference-700571440). Recently, their grandmother passed away, so if you're able to support them at all, anything helps. You can check out their Ko-Fi here if you're interested: https://ko-fi.com/wanderstar39. I imagine these three are from space. I haven't fully developed them yet, but Nebula (the one in the center) and Aurora (the one on her left) is her older sister. I imagine Mirai (the robotic looking one), is their companion. Aurora and Nebula were sent to stop an monster from beyond, though Aurora has been stuck in battle and Nebula went to find help. However, she's not sure who is capable enough to aid, however, and is at a loss what to do. I'm still working on developing their stories, though they were a lot of fun to draw and color. There's this scene in Rainbow Rowell's novel "Fangirl" where semi-internet famous fan fiction author Cath actually, no joke, runs into someone irl who not only has read her story but is a giant fan of her work. Now, Cath does not tell this girl who also goes to her university that she is username magicath, instead pretending to be a fellow fan because it's less awkward that way let's be real. I am semi obsessed with this scene, mostly because it has always been a secret hope/dread that I might some day meet someone irl who has read my work and not only liked it but maybe even really liked it. Because on the one hand, I have the self esteem of a spoon and it would be very validating to hear someone say that something I made with my little goblin brain was actually good and made their day brighter. On the other hand, I feel like I'd hate that interaction because I have a near constant feeling of imposter syndrome and 'i do not wish to be percieved-itis' and it would be a nightmare to navigate that conversation gracefully. These are the things I think about at 2am when I should be sleeping

I think what's happening with the potterhead/potter verse fandom is that what happened in fangirl by Rainbow rowell to Gemma T Leslie.

Like we love JKR because she created the things and she owns them. But the reader and the fanfic writers, fanart artists are the people who love it, love the characters, more then anything and we want them to be happy or different situations and that's okay, coz we might not have made it

But we love it

Maybe even more then the author

And we know that those characters deserve more

so. i’ve just finished reading Wayward Son.(spoilers ahead) snowbaz gives me life, k? so basically. while reading this book. i dIED. not in a good way. because rainbow rowell cursed me with this SimOn ALmoSt BrEaKinG Up wITh BaZ ShiT. i can’t believe simon got so depressed he didn’t think baz could love him anymore. when simon said he was breaking up with baz, i legit cried. my shole family thought i was NUTS. i was crying in my car. my brother was like “the fuck is wrong with u” but yeah. this book was just a development towards the next book/s. it was so full of jealousy, self-hatred, distance, and then there was the rare occasion of actual snowbaz intimacy. overall, it was a shithole of WOW that’s not what i saw coming. micah broke up with penny and she lost her mind. the entire thing was a wreck. the writing was fantastic, but the characters were messy together wowowow. i just want baz and simon to be happy together ugh. the best news ever tho... THERE WILL BE A THIRD BOOK. there has to be. rainbow could never leave us on that cliffhanger. i just fucking hope baz and simon learn to be themselves together again. i loved carry on. the silliness, the cuteness, the magic, the messiness, the newness of love, it was amazing. wayward son did not deliver, but i’m so happy there’ll be another. rainbow better not wait another four years haha
