OPENING COMMISSIONS

Hello all,

Commissions are open once again because I am in a jam. I keep getting job rejections, I’ve sold a lot of things but it never seems to be enough. So I really need some extra help. I don’t like asking for help but it’s currently my only option. I need to open commissions to pay for some debts coming up.

Towards the Horizon

A Buddie Pirates AU for @mistmarauder for @911fanworksfestival

(Darling one day I will write you a full fic of this but for now have this lil treat)

It should not work. It really shouldn't. Edmundo Diaz should not be as charmed by the pirate captain and his smile. Eddie was a sailor who lost his family because of corrupted governors and their shady deals. All that he had left was to join the navy and then a few years into it they got boarded by Captain Gerrard. What followed were some of the worst years of Eddie's life, he befriended two of the other sailors, Hen and Chimney, but outside of that Gerrard is the worst man to serve under. And they didn't even choose it. So he should be annoyed that they got boarded by pirates again. Eddie should not be charmed Captain Buck. He just turned his life upside down again. Eddie should be annoyed, he should be tired of this and most of all he should be scared. Scared of the man who barely had to try during a swordfight with one of the meanest bastards Eddie had ever met. He should be scared of the blood on his face and his hands as he guts Gerrard. But no — he apparently has no self-preservation because Eddie thinks he's the most attractive man he's ever seen, even with the blood. (Especially with the blood). And so when Captain Buck gives him a chance to join his crew? He takes it. Even though the offer to leave peacefully had been offered —they had only been after Gerrard and his loot, they didn't care what the people in his command did. Or rather all the ones that had a problem with it had already been dealt with, killed — Eddie reminds himself. Not that he cared for any of them, as most were as cruel as Gerrard. Davy Jones' Locker can have them and they will not be mourned. Eddie could go back on land and maybe get a trade, a simple life. But land has never been his more — not anymore. Not after the loss of Shannon and Chris. For the first time in his life, Eddie Diaz makes a decision for himself and shakes Captain Buck's hand, accepting the position. Who knows maybe he'll make for a good pirate. Either way he gets to spend more time with the sexy and mysterious Captain Buck. And maybe just maybe — find a home in the horizon.

Top 3 Lessons Learned

Plan ahead

Before launching the Facebook page and releasing our content, we had already planned ahead what kind of videos we wanted to make, and we also shot these videos ahead of time. This was done in order to give way to editing and uploading the videos, which could really take a lot of time. Nevertheless, there are downsides to planning ahead. If there are cases wherein we think that a specific kind of post would work better than what we have planned, it is difficult to instantly change the content that we have originally intended to post. If we do decide to change this, the succeeding posts will be delayed. Although it helped us to plan ahead, we overlooked the fact that our plans must be flexible, and that we should have a backup plan just in case the scheduled video or post cannot be posted at the specific day it was assigned. In addition, we made sure to share videos and articles that are informative and entertaining for our target audience.

Don’t let the others get to you

At the height of this project, there were times wherein all our Facebook News Feeds were filled with posts from different groups, and it was quite intimidating to see that their posts had immediately gotten more likes, views, or shares. It was important that we trusted ourselves and not let the success of others affect our viewpoints negatively.

Always remember your initial goal

You have to be consistent with posting to keep the audience interested with your content. You have to post regularly at a specific interval (in our case, everyday) to keep the online presence of your page. You also have to be consistent with the branding of your page. Even though different members were editing different videos, we made sure that our content had the same look and feel to it. As we had college students as our target audience, we wanted our videos to seem as if we were simply talking to them as if they were our “kabarkada” to make it more relevant and relatable. At the end of the day, we should always remember the purpose of our page: to give useful budget tips of students like us.

The Budget Barkada went shopping around various ukay-ukay stores around Quiapo and recreated the outfits of style icons such as Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Vanessa Hudgens and Cara Delevingne.

Before the posting of the actual and teaser video, we had interactive pubs as a teaser for our thrift shopping under 200 Pesos. Each member of the group had their photo posted alongside with their style inspiration. Hazel who copped Selena Gomez’s look had the most likes and people reached.

This series included collaborations with make-up vloggers from Youtube who created make-up looks at an affordable price.

This one in particular garnered the most interaction.

Our videos posted through Facebook reached a lot more people compared if we posted the link of youtube through Facebook

Interactive posts engaged a lot of people which gained many shares and comments

Through our Foodtrip features, we were able to get offers from some food establishments and invites from students from other universities

What didn’t work

Posting our first video on Youtube at first did not help us gain many views right away.

It was difficult to create traffic on our website.

Invited YouTubers to do a collaboration for our “Budget Beauty Serye” which helped gained viewers

We would post in the morning and we should share it throughout the day

Financial Problems: We are a budget group however we had to spend for the clothes, talent fees, studio, food and make-up products

It was difficult for us to create our own identity given that other groups also have the “budget” concept. 

Despite the 805 likes, not much people visit our website. It is difficult to create traffic.

The group worked well together. Our ideas harmonized and each member contributed may it be an idea, editing a video and chipping in to expenses. As much as we wanted to all be together for our Budget Barkada Foodtrip, we could not due to conflicting schedules.

Overall, this project did not seem as burden. In fact, our friendship grew and we enjoyed planning, shooting and editing.

Hi, Maiy!’ Elouise rushed up to Maiy. ‘Have you heard the news? Miss Snow’s holding a School Party tomorrow, My mum’s coming, and Miss Snow’s agreed on letting me do a ballet performance!’ Maiy grinned. She knew that Elouise always took every opportunity  wanted to show off. Especially in front people like Diana, and Lou’s Mum, Eleanor. Suddenly, Milan appeared behind Elouise, followed by Lou. ‘Elouise’s just been telling me about the party—and the ballet-thing, of course.’ said Maiy. ‘Yep.’ said Lou. ‘My mum’s bound to be there. I told her that Keyth would, and about Elouise’s ballet performance.’ ‘Ok.’ Maiy quickly made her way to the school gate. ‘I promised Wei-Lin that I’d meet her at the newsagents. Bye’ Soon, Maiy walked through the door of the local newsagents. She caught a glance of Wei-Lin—who was unaware that Maiy was there—flipping through the lastest edition of Go-Fashion. ‘ Maiy walked past the art classroom, over to the Stage Room, where the school performed the plays, and songs to the Mums and Dads every year. Pushing past a few older girls standing by the doorway, Maiy walked into the jam-packed hall, where teachers and some of Maiy’s friends, were doing a quick practice. Mishelle Wilson, Maiy’s tall, bossy cousin, stood by the door to the school’s storeroom, helping herself to some of the snacks laid out on the colourfully-set lunch tables. ‘Hi Maiy! Great to see you here!’. Maiy turned around, to see Jessa Melt, one of the girls from the older class. Jessa’s parents ran the snack shop down the road, and were quite rich, giving Jessa whatever she wanted. Jessa was rather bossy sometimes,as she always got picked to do the organizing jobs at  special school events.   ‘Hi Jessa…’ said Maiy, turning around to face Jessa, who was wearing an expensive looking jacket, and a matching scarf. ‘You’ll never guess what Keyth told me!’ exclaimed Jessa, excitedly ‘ It’s top secret, an I haven’t  even told Mishelle yet!’ Maiy sighed. Jessa’s big news almost always was about her new magazine subscriptions, clothes, or how many amazing things her mum had said about her to her friends. ‘I’m going to be a model at feather mum’s!’ burst out Jessa,  jumping up and down excitedly. Maiy shrugged. ‘That’s nice.’

It’s been eons since they met for the first time. She was a witch and he was a werewolf. The first family of witches and the first families of werewolves. Their families were enemies on opposite sides of a war that neither of them knew why they were fighting.

She’d befriended his sister — her first true friend.

When he found out instead of telling on them he kept their secret and as time went on he spent more and more time with her. She fell fast, he fell slower.. but in the end he fell as well. To the point he wanted to end the feud.

But it wasn’t up to him was it? Or to any Bridgerton really (none of who wanted the fight to keep going but the witches had cursed them and so that’s the way it had to be).

So the plan was simple — it should have been simple — they were going to run away from everything and be together. But her sister found out and they were ambushed. She couldn’t let her mother kill him so she cast a spell..

In the end he died anyway as did she. Her mother cursed her with the knowledge of what’s to come. Every time they found each other, she always saw their deaths. Some times she tried to spot them, sometimes she tried to ignore him (in hopes that it would save him) but it was for naught.

Until now.

It’s the first time since that time eons ago where they’re both alive and under the same circumstances.

She’s a witch and he’s a werewolf.

Except this time there’s no feuding families just modern times and modern troubles.

Can this be the life in which they finally get to be happy?

To the Beach!

A few months after the events of the season 4 finale in which the Library and the Monsters were defeated (The monster got his new body and got to leave to a place where there’s more people like him. His sister was sent through the Seam)

Everyone has mostly healed, Julia is a demigoddess — it turns out that she was able to choose a good medium between the options. Kady is now Hedge Queen and working on fixing the library with the help of Harriet and Alice.

Margo is working on a way to get her banishment lifted but for now she’s helping her boys heal.  Quentin had a close call but Liam (23) got his out of the Seam and now he’s back on his meds and even going to therapy. Meanwhile Eliot is also going to therapy and working on feeling himself again.

They all need a break.

And so Margo gets an idea.

Her family has a house in Cancun and it fits all of them.

Plus how many times they’ve saved the world? They’ve earned a vacation.

So she gets the tickets, rents a car and a boat.

Then tells them all to pack a suitcase because they’re going to the sun where they finally get to relax.

Just what they deserve.

And who knows maybe the atmosphere will be perfect for her boys to finally admit their feelings.

All in all?  Sounds like a great time.

Why can't it run on love? 

Quentin Coldwater changed everyone’s life at one point or another.

Not just the core group — although they agree their life is better when he’s around.

He’s Julia’s oldest friend, Alice’s first true friend outside of Charlie.

He’s Margo’s best friend. And she’s not going to fail him again.

He helped Kady get out of that mental institution and rescued Poppy from the Fillorian waters. Kady gets her hedges to help as well.

He helped Emily Greenstreet and saved Dr. Lipson when she considered ending it all. Fogg is strong armed into helping, because it’s the least she can do.

He’s Penny 40’s friend and Penny 23 feels like he owes him.

He’s the love of Eliot’s life.

So they’re bringing him back — one way or another.

Magic doesn’t just come from pain, it comes from love as well.

A wise nerd once asked “Why can’t it run on love?”

So that’s how they’ll power the spell. Cooperative magic based on love, affection, friendship.

And they’re going to get their nerd back.
