QUICK NO ONE'S LOOKING

Anyone else up thinking about Ratio's big, strong, secure arms and how warm and all-consuming they could be in a hug or embrace. :/ Anyway

I just wanted to draw them being cute and seizing a sliver of a moment where they could have some PDA silly time without actually having any eyes on them. They're public figures and working adults with very clear boundaries between public persona and private life (to varying degrees of "in a sad way"), so while it may be in Aventurine's nature to constantly blur lines for various agendas and self-preservation (read: play "the flirt" without an aligned goal), I believe that in an actual relationship they'd be fairly private.

It's kind of fun to break your own rules, though! Ratio would be more upset about the consequences, though. He's a little bit of a hypocrite, which is devastating for someone of such discipline, but nobody's perfect.

I'm of the mentality of, "If you're tired of working on it, then just post it!", so here are some fun peripherals that I didn't feel like adding:

Some staff in the background sweeping up to evoke a blended sense of fragile privacy and liminal time.

A laptop on the aquarium/bar/counter because there's something fascinating about seeing people on their work laptops in public.

Doodles based on conversations about Twisted Glisten and Rodger with @tdlizardowo :3. Mainly with the Mini AU thing I doodled the other day where Rodger does solo runs down to the Twisted floors to meet with Glisten.

Based on an idea we had that Glisten literally just. Sits outside the elevator waiting for Rodger to return whenever he leaves. Probably sits with his head turned to the side so he can listen against the wall for the elevator moving in the shaft.

he wouldn't leave this it's his favourite briefcase he wouldn't leave it

if he comes back for this that means he comes back for me right

We also made the headcanon that when Rodger was first going to see Glisten and trying to get his trust back with him, Glisten had such low self esteem and such high anxiety at that point that he thought literally anything was holding more importance in Rodger's eyes than himself. So Rodger would catch onto this and leave items down there with Glisten, the latter of whom would basically hold them hostage until Rodger came back (I also think sometimes Glisten would outright take to nicking stuff off him to hold hostage as well, something he felt was significant enough that Rodger would come back for it had he lost it).

Rodger would slowly get Glisten to realise that, by doing this little habit and being nonchalant about whether an item goes missing or he leaves something on accident, that he really isn't caring about whether he leaves stuff down here or not - notes, a briefcase, research, whatever - it's *him* that he's returning for, because helping Glisten and keeping him company until he can find a way to cure him or get him safely up to the lobby without other Toons being worried or scared of him is the most important thing to him. Glisten is more important to Rodger than some silly items. :)

(Also I choose to believe the briefcase has lore as being a birthday / debut anniversary gift from Toodles to Rodger that she convinced her Toon Handler to help her get for him)

webcomic/indie comic from the 2010s. basically a sci-fi short story about a young girl (with red hair?) who was being raised by scientists as part of an experiment. she receives a haircut/has her head shaved, in preparation for her annual brain scan/testing. it is revealed that while her body is human, her "brain" is artificial, made of computer implants throughout her skull and spine. at some point her biological mother (also a scientist on the same campus?) encounters her and is repulsed, viewing her as a machine who has murdered her daughter.

it was very poignant and it bruised my heart and i can NOT find it anywhere

1025 Pokemon (+ more for individual formes?) each assigned to one person (people could probably do multiple if they wanted) to draw and post. It'd be cool. But also very ambitious.

This one is obvious, it's their first direct interaction on-screen in the game, and it also implies that Sans and Alphys know each other from something that they would rather keep a secret (based on the fact that Alphys gets nervous and Sans deflects with "doesn't everybody?" when questioned by Papyrus). Also, I love that Alphys knew Sans was going to make that exact joke and she said it before him... cuties

lovelovelove this dialogue because it implies sans may know about the amalgamates (theres also other stuff like the dog food that papyrus "recognizes" from sans's room, and the chips in the skelebros' fridgs that are also in the true lab).

It actually irks me that some people don't know the real meaning why Nadakhan called Jay 'canary' that one scene.

Like sure it was a pet name or something, but if you just do 1 google search you'll know that one you call someone a canary, you're calling them a snitch/blabber/rat/synonyms. Which fits the context perfectly. Jay goes to tell on Nadakhan to Flintlock so Nadakhan calls Jay a snitch which makes him so uncool (cuz who wants to hang with a snitch ;-;, not this pirate!) so Flintlock disregards Jay quicker than my dog's speed when I open his food box.

It is very silly though that a canary is a type of bird, and Jay is a type of bird. I find it so funny how someone there's a term for everything in every theme you could possibly imagine

So yes, while it's interpreted as a yucky pet/nickname for Jay, it's important to me that you know the actual meaning

because I rent a car to get out to my office, sometimes I'm confronted with a radio that has wildly different preset stations than I would ever select. mostly this means I have to suffer through a lot of country, or christian talk radio, before I run out of patience and switch over to the stations I like; but other times, it's someone with a thick accent reading a very lengthy advertisement for the Chicago Public Library in an almost....computerized way? and then long carnatic music, with a celtic fiddle breakdown in the middle? with absolutely no explanation for why this is what it is.

.........only afterwards did I discover that it's the station for a nearby university. then it made sense.

DND AU INDEED !!!! I'VE PUT THEM INTO DND !!!!!!!

This is an AU where all the characters are humans in the modern world and their DnD PC is the animal/creature counterpart. Yes I have human designs for all of them in mind no I haven't drawn it yet other than the Bishops yes I also have names for all of them as humans.

Shamura is the Game Master and Goat, Lamb and Yellow cat are the main players. The siblings do come in every now and then but their role in the campaign is different.

Story-wise, the campaign is a continuation of the campaign Shamura and their siblings had going on months prior before it ended. Shamura and their siblings' characters became powerful beings who can now have cults, religions or deals made in their name. Lamb, Goat and Yellow cat are little guys who either made deals with the Bishops or serve one of the Bishops/Crowns.

The Goat is a standard warlock, normal deal made with Shamura, no actual faith in either them or the Purple Crown. The Lamb was a follower of the Red Crown, and upon being resurrected by Narinder, made a deal with him and became a warlock, however their faith vasicllates between a simple deal or being a follower of Narinder as well as the Red Crown. And Yellow cat is a follower of the Green Crown so they are a Paladin but they do NOT gaf about Leshy tbh.

I have an atual story in mind it's like whatever I just prefer drawing everyone hanging out in this setting so you're not gonna hear about it. Anyways yay more funsies for me

so the evanuris/blight situation is that: solas managed to, at the height of his power + with all his ancient elf besties helping, seal them into the black city and make the veil. and this took so much out of him that he was basically comatose for 5000 years. ok fine.

but then in vg, his initial plan was to put them in a different jail, while the veil is still up (despite that weakening all magic significantly and making it difficult to even access the black city). and then he wants to tear down the veil afterwards, presumably expecting to still be awake to do so. despite not having his original orb or his ancient elf besties anymore? so it doesn't particularly make sense in general. similar to how he described what he wanted to do with the orb, you'd expect him to take out the veil first and then reseal/move the jail?

(and then he wanted to put them into a Regret Prison when he is the ONLY one out of that entire situation who feels any regrets... 😭)

then his more ambiguous-sounding veil removal motives of being depressed about elves/spirits and unable to see the modern world as worthy of existence... become almost irrelevant. bc it's kind of necessary for him to Do Something? or else everyone fully dies of turbo blight when the archdemons die and the black city inevitably opens?

but then no one really mentions the looming catastrophe of the blight part, and they handwave it at the end, and all act like he's being very unreasonable. which he is! but only bc they made him dumber than a rock and weirdly inconsistent in his capabilities, not bc his motivations were actually proven to be wrong. aaaaa.

So, Marc had no plan. Also—more concerningly—he was stuck with a sort of teary, very shy, 9-year-old version of his teammate that he very obviously couldn’t coax from his hesitation, or his perch right by the door where a photographer could see him.

There was a chance, and not a small one, that he’d bolt out running at any moment.

Considering that they had to line up on the grid in less than three hours, Marc bit the proverbial bullet and called the person who on average disliked him the most on the paddock at any given weekend.

The first call was declined. So was the second.

“Pecco got hit by a curse,” he spat out very quickly before things could go sour, in pointed Spanish.

Carola Bagnaia made a disgruntled noise from the other side of the line. “Again?” She said frustratedly, but not surprisedly.

Because of course she wasn’t. It was fucking Ducati’s fault—best bike on the grid by a mile, but not a single ward witch worth their salt and silver. Marc had not missed Honda so acutely since, what, November of 2023. The bike was a tangle of curses, but at least he only had to deal with himself.

“I’m fetching our witch,” Carola sighed, bulldozing through whatever he was planning on saying. “How much can he cooperate?”

Pecco was still staring at him suspiciously, his eyes enormous and wet, bottom lip wobbling. Marc made a point of smiling—hoped that it hadn’t come out as a wince. “He’s nine years old and doesn’t like me very much.”

He heard her say it’s Pecco and yes, yes, bad, we need to go, muffled, from a distance. “He doesn’t like you at twenty-eight, either.”

On the spirit of mutual cooperation and not jeopardizing decent coexistence in the garage less than six months after officially becoming a Ducati rider, Marc elected to not tell Carola that Pecco liked him just fine—so long as they were in a place where the doors locked.

“Can you talk with him?” Marc asked—didn’t plead, because that would be too much like feeding a shark, but watching this skinny, unhappy kid fiddle with his stupid asthma alert bracelet made things feel more urgent.

“I’m a little—Christ, I’ll call you.”

Carola hang up. Marc, left alone, did not scream, which felt like a victory on itself. “Do you want some oreos?”

Pecco nodded slightly. “Please,” he said, polite as always.

(i've been thinking about this video for a long time, but this gifset by meg @ww2yaoi really inspired me to finish it. i also drew a lot of inspiration and themes from where to begin by ama @warriorgays. thank you both!)

i wanted this video to be a really comprehensive dive into both leckie’s and sledge’s arcs, which meant including the particularly horrible parts of the war: namely the dehumanization of japanese people, the way the marines used that dehumanization to justify their actions, and how it eroded their own humanity in turn. as such, i included a lot of elements of the show that i wouldn’t normally put into a video and that i don’t often see in visual fanworks, so i wanted to content warn accordingly. this video includes (in addition to the usual canon-typical violence and discussion of ptsd):
