This kitty is a late Christmas present I made for a friend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It has a zipper on the belly that allows a heating cushion (which I also made myself) to be put inside.
I am really happy I still hade that fabric with fish bones on it, it was perfect for the lining fabric, because cats eat fish lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I made the details in the ears and on the nose with the same cotton fabric I used for the heating cussion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I made the pattern myself too, though I improvised the body, pouch, Nose & cushion!
Tumblr media
I initially also wanted to make paw pads, but I couldn't get them quite right, so I decided to drop the idea.
It's not perfect but I put about 18 hours in this floofer and I'm hella proud. <3

Is Lae'zel more green or yellow?
I have two options that I find closest to Lae'zel's skin tone. However, I can't decide which is best.

I've seen "I don't know how to play with toys anymore" a few times lately and just wanted to point out-
Playing with toys looks different for everyone, even actual children!
Playing with toys can look like: 🧸🪁🚂
Taking pictures of your toys and writing captions for them
Brushing or grooming soft toys or toys with rooted hair
Ordering or sorting your toys by colour/species etc
Making up stories, poems or comics about your toys
Dressing or accessorising your toys
Imagining your toys talking to you or each other, forming opinions of their own, etc
Drawing your toys
Taking your toys for a walk outside, even in a backpack or pocket if you don't want to carry them openly
Making lists of the toys you have and where you got them etc
Feel free to add your own ideas

Pillow plush panda I made for my sisters baby!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
More Infos under the cut:
My sister and her hubby love pandas and already got lots of panda themed accessories and toys for the baby, so I thought I might try and make one myself.
I purposefully made the head a bit "too small" so the bear would look extra chonky, bc I think that's cute. I'm pretty pleased how this little guy turned out!
I drew the pattern myself.
Tumblr media
I sewed a grey ribbon into the sides, by tying those together the pillow can be turned into a plushie. I decided against using buttons, since those are a choking hazard.
I knitted in the eyes in with wool yarn and I added some detail by using the printed fabric from the underside for the nose & inner ears.. It seems like that's becoming my thing lol

For those with sensory sensitivities, which is more comfortable to touch for a teddy bear? (I ask because I don't have the experience with this)

We'll both have matching plushies in our therapy sessions! I asked her like last week what her favourite animal is and she said it's dogs so I'm gonna make her a dog plushie :3

My experience carrying a stuffed animal with me at school every day
Tumblr media
Wrapping up my first semester where I decided to be brave and carry a plushie with me, and figured I’d share my experience for anyone who wants to bring their plushies but may be nervous. I carried a small to medium cat plush in my hands and placed them on my desk every day.
I can safely say my experience has been nothing but positive!
- No one ridiculed or treated me unkind for it, any questions were posed with respect. I worried people wouldn’t take me seriously, but it’s not a problem I encountered.
- I made friends more easily and people asked me questions about my plush (name, brand, etc) quite often and seemed interested in my answers.
- None of my professors made any rude comments or told me to put them away. One asked if my plush was a recording device and why I had her but didn’t push further when I replied no, she’s just here because she makes me happy.
- Some professors made jokes, one pretended to punch my cat plush because he “doesn’t like cats” and another told me not to bring a black cat because it reminds him of a past cat he had and disliked. Nothing serious it was all in good fun from professors who frequently joked with other students as well.
- It made me very happy and comforted to have a plushie friend with me!! That alone makes it worth it.
I’m a fourth year college student, if you are in high school your experience may vary as you could face teasing from peers as I had before, but remember the world is so much kinder <3
