I missed Kipo and Wolf's birthday, but still wanted to do something for them. I'd polish this more but my computer is about to crash lmao, so this will do.

Kipo’s found family is absolutely hilarious to me because not a single one of them got off on the right foot. Dave and Benson were the last two in an inter-species war that literally killed their entire families. Wolf hated Kipo’s guts for a good three episodes before they were truly okay with one another. Benson and Dave scammed, conned and stole from Kipo and Wolf when they first met eachother. Wolf tried to eat Mandu, and Mandu definitely thought Kipo would try to eat her too. Literally no one got off to a good start.

Glad you enjoyed your rewatch of kipo if you can let me know if you have any headcannons post s3. My headcannon is that they are still trying to reverse the cure even during the time skip.

And yes, same! I headcanon that Song and Lio are still working towards a reverse cure- though taking it a little slower while Las Vistas is being turned into an inhabitable city with actual structure in place for everyone to live there. I think Kipo would try to help, too, but that usually extends to just lending blood samples when they’re needed because otherwise she’s too busy focusing on the Las Vistas thing.

I also headcanon that Kipo, Benson, Dave, Wolf, and Mandu often meet up with Troy, Dahlia and Asher. Benson and Troy are still together canonically, of course, but I don’t remember seeing anything about Dahlia and Asher. But I like to think they’re still involved and they show up a lot :) And also I lowkey hc that Kipo and Asher date

If I had a nickel for every time I saw a rotund cartoon pig named after an East Asian pork cuisine I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.

The character names in Kataow are amazing because first, you have Kipo— lovely name, love how it sounds, and I’m it has some amazing meanings that tie in to Kipo as a character. 

Then you have Wolf. You never learn her previous name, but Kipo calls her Wolf (full name: Wolfatha Christie the Fourth) and Wolf accepts it. She never asks people to stop calling her that. It’s a perfect name for Wolf.

You’ve got Benson. I haven’t met many Bensons (usually, just ‘Ben’) but it sounds familiar and nice. Benson is a nice guy. A good friend.

Mandu is a blue four-eyed and six-legged pig, named after the dumplings Kipo’s dad used to make. It’s a little odd but hey, mute pig— and it has sentimental meaning to Kipo— so it fits Mandu perfectly.

You’ve got Kipo’s family Lio (not an uncommon name) and Song (beautiful name) and Hugo— they all fit well with Kipo. 

Hugo later takes the name Scarlemagne— a play on ‘Scar’ and Charlemagne’. That’s so clever! 

There’s also Jamack, Troy, Dr Emilia (sounds like a normal human name, but still cool for an antagonist), and may we not forget Yumyan Hammerpaw. 

And then you have… Dave. Just Dave. Dave the Bug. Dave the metamorphosing bug mute. This is so hilarious, it’s perfect.
