The thought of the most animalistic doppelganger of Tails having romantic tendencies with another seems like an incredibly foreign concept at first. But I shall be here to convince all of you otherwise~ Unlike the first impression we got of him with Sonic, he’s going to be a lot more gentle towards you. Instead of his usual feral-like characteristics towards those he considers intruders or threats towards their home, he’s surprisingly calm and more curious than anything when it comes to you despite being in a very similar position as your hedgehog companion. Your scent is different from that of a hedgehog, this specific part of his senses signalling for Mangey to not hunt or target you as prey. He seems to be sniffing you all the time, putting his nose to every inch of your frame while his bright blue eyes just look confused and intrigued. And though slight distrust tends to longer in the back of his mind at first hand, this shall quickly fade with ease when giving the fox the slightest bit of closureness and care; having been a very touch-starved mobian ever since birth.

As soon as you give him the littlest fondness of your own, his mind is going to flick like a switch and he’s going to be all over you. It’s almost as if you’re dealing with two separate Mangeys right here, especially as he kept his resentment towards Sonic for longer than he did with you. In fact, he almost seems to have taken a liking towards you in an instant. He constantly brings you a variety of little sticks, leaves in all sizes, rocks in various shapes, colourful flowers and other small items he considered pretty enough to give to you. And as soon as he got a single glimpse or sniff of some food, he would stop at nothing to try and get it in order to feed you.

Mangey’s behaviour towards you can be very much comparable to the instinct of a variation of wild animals protecting their young and partner while hunting and searching for food during the process. He is rather clingy, quite overprotective over you and isn’t even the slightest bit hesitant to use his sharp jaw and claws in his efforts to keep you safe and happy. Minor sounds of excitement that range between purrs and guttural noises constantly manage to leave his throat too whenever you’re around, that do not occur at all when given any other moment. It’s truly just like the amber fox has claimed you without any second thinking.

He also shows this preference he has for you by being incredibly affectionate. Mangey kind of follows you around like a lost puppy, and certainly behaves like one in that matter as well aside from his cat-like mannerisms. He’s continuously glued to your side, licking you all over your face, grooming you from head to toe while smearing his scent all over you with a big cheeky grin on his face. He sometimes goes up to you whenever he’s extra needy for the observation and just rubs his mohawk against your leg, basically just indirectly begging for some pets, cuddles and head scratches. Even tending to purr at times while doing all of this. He is really just this big furball that’s desperate for constant positive attention. And luckily for this cutie, both physically and emotionally

you’re more than willing to provide that for him.

Travelling through the Shatterverse

Ok something interesting here. It could be just the way the trailer was spliced, buuuuuut

Nine and Mangey in Boscage Maze. (Look at the background, it's the only Shatterspace that has trees and other plants like this)

Though it's hard to say if they interact at all, other than just looking at each other.

Another one, this time with Nine and Sails. (Also I love how Sails uses his mechanical arm kind of like a cane, interesting implications here)

If you can't tell, Nine is in the water and is being pushed by Sonic. (It's more obvious in the actual clip, also sorry for the screengrab with Nine, I just wanted his line of sight to be visible and he blinks in the rest of the clip haha)

At the very least we know that Nine got brought to No Place by the council. Not the best quality of the screenshot, but he kind of looks guilty/awkward? Probably the usual "Haha Sonic, your so called "friend" gave us the intershatterspace travel technology! Shouldn't have trusted him!"

Additionally, we have Rusty Rose battling the Council robots with Black Rose, and Dread falling to his death in New Yoke. (What Sonic's hanging onto is probably the ship they stole from the Council)

LITERALLY PLEASEEEEEE both sails and ESPECIALLY mangey have been deprived of Advanced Technology they are starving. nine being around others who share his love and passion for inventing. also yes mangey knows how to fly now but he's still very new at it so imagine sails and nine coaching him

I like how each character has their own reaction for seeing their alternative self, like Rusty and Black Rose have a 'who is that?' line, Nine, Mangey and Sails just stare (they didn't really have a chance to talk but I feel like they wouldn't if they had it anyway) and Knuckles have a moment of disbelieve and then is just kinda okay with it (I love how casual they were while talking about Sonic). I can't wait to see Rouge's reaction as well as Big's if we gonna get one in season 3.

It would also be fun if the theory about Sonic and Shadow having their own alternates was true, I would pay to see that

Some people have already mentioned it in their posts: but can we all acknowledge how Jungle!Tails (mangey) and Pirate!Knuckles (Dread) sorta went mad because they are unable to fulfill their roles or are doing it wrong??

Mangey went absolutely animal and feral, literally the most feral even compared to Gnarly

he's a tails that lives in a world without any kind of technology except primitive weapons and building. literallt also the only tails of the 3 shatterspaces that has no gadgets or gizmos

he cannot fulfill any kind of role similar to the other tails and hes just... creachure.

Now, Captain Knuckles the dread. he was absolutely normal at the start, very gentle and nice for a knuckles—but relatively normal... however in the flashbacks and when he returns to pirating he goes absolutely unhinged.

he becomes way more obsessed with the shard than Rouge usually is with the master emerald, or any other gem for that fact, he literally fixates so hard in the gem its... scary [cool]

and well... being a pirate that pillages and steals treasures is basically the opposite of being the guardian of a treasure wanted by most people that know of it

neither of them are fulfilling their "correct" roles in their worlds and that made them... go absolutely wrong themselves

its probably nothing but i wanna think it means something...

Nine said that Shadow "is not another version of Sonic", which means he recognized Sails and Mangey as other versions of himself.
