Raymond Ford vs Otabek Kholmatov Highlights

Otabek Kholmatov (12-1) might have lost in his bid for the WBA featherweight title, but he made a fan out of me. Absolute banger of a fight that Kholmatov lost literally in the last moments.

Now Kholmatov is on the rebuild route. He's heading to Kazakhstan this Saturday (April 5) as he is set to face off with Jason Canoy Manigos (30-12-2) on ESPN+. Part of the undercard for the Zhanibek Alimkhanuly fight.

The group pushing to recall Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao says it now has enough signatures to place the measure on the November ballot. 

Now it’s up to the city to decide the next steps regarding a vote to potentially remove Oakland's top leader from office.

“I think you’re going to see a different tune from the mayor’s administration,” Seneca Scott said.

He is one of the lead organizers pushing to recall Thao.

On Tuesday, the Alameda County Registrar's Office confirmed that organizers have submitted enough verified signatures to put a recall vote on the ballot this November.

The efforts to recall Mayor Thao began in January and Scott says they were able to gather just over 40,000 signatures.

“I think the numbers are clear, voters want Thao gone, voters want her gone,” Scott said.

He said recall supporters are unhappy with the mayor’s handling of issues ranging from crime, homelessness, and her controversial firing of then-Oakland Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong.

“She demoralized the city. We trusted LeRonne Armstrong, we don’t trust Mayor Thao,” Scott said.

“I think we’re extremely disappointed to see such a concerted effort … to really undermine these newly affected officials,” Pecolia Manigo said.

She is the political director of Oakland Rising -- a nonprofit focused on increasing voter participation in the city.

She’s opposed to this recall vote as well as the upcoming recall vote of Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price, claiming it could impact voters who may feel they’re vote doesn’t matter if recalls become the new norm.

“It’s made people question, ‘why vote?’ and I think that that consequence is what’s really what concerns us, that this is starting to turn off voters,” Manigo said.

NBC Bay Area reached out to the mayor’s office for comment but were forwarded to her campaign team who have not responded.

With the signatures verified, the city council will be in charge of what happens next with the next council meeting set for July 2.

RDCWorld1 just finished their let’s play of “Detroit Become Human”. Honestly, I’m surprised they got a somewhat decent ending, despite taking the more violent route. What they got:

1) Markus launched a successful revolution 

2) Connor went deviant and helped Markus in the revolution. Also, Connor was able to prevent Amanda from taking him over at the end.

3) Hank died during the encounter with the other Connor

4) Kara and Alice died trying to cross the border since Markus launched a violent revolution (they really fucked up here, should’ve gone to the boats, but whatever)

So, not the saddest ending, but not the happiest. I’m just surprised they didn’t get a horrible ending based on how they were playing the game.

Honest Opinion - Cancer Manigoldo

(Yes, I finally remembered I can use images. Once I’ve stopped cursing at my computer and at myself, I will go back and fix the rest of the series. I have links to add, and I have to link all these entries together)

Overall score (character, not looks): 10/10 Honestly speaking, I would like to give him more than 10, but what can we do

Alright, here we go. The Italian Saint that forced himself on top of my list without effort.  I’m pretty sure you already understood how much I love this man, but here I am repeating myself over and over, for the entirety of this post. Because I am baffled at how much I appreciated this character of Lost Canvas. I didn’t think he was going to be one of my absolute favorites, but I’m always wrong so yeah. 

[Small digression on the dub] Now, before diving into the “real” reason why I love Manigoldo, aka my 100% positive opinion on him, I have to say I might have been a little biased since the beginning. 

And this has to do with the Italian dub.  Normally I don’t stick with characters because of their voice. Sure, I love when the voice matches the character, and the voice actor does a good job in portraying them, but I mostly appreciate the starting point first.  In Manigoldo’s case, however, as soon as I knew who his voice actor was (before watching Lost Canvas and knowing the character) I pretty much ended up screaming in joy. And as soon as I heard the voice on the character, discovering what kind of personality Manigoldo has, I was sold.  It was pure and unadulterated perfection.

Back on track now.   Manigoldo has an amazing character growth. From when he was a child, he didn’t change all that much, but what he changed was in better. He went from a desperate and lonely kid living a “life of crime”, if we can call it that, to a considerate and brave Saint ready to fight until death for those he cares about.

On top of that, I love the way he faces his connection with the dead. I love how he tries to always smile and keep a cheerful and mischievous behavior, just to spite his fate as Cancer Saint. Just to spite death itself.  They could have gone the easy way, they could have made a gloomy character with the past weighing on top of him, but no! they made Manigoldo and my goodness I love this so much.  This kind of attitude (and boy, does Manigoldo have attitude) is spectacularly portrayed on screen, with tons of back and forts between him and his enemies, and I enjoyed every second of it.

Come to think of that, I couldn’t stop laughing as he fought against Veronica. Manigoldo continuing to anger Veronica by telling him to stop flirting was damn near a cure for my ongoing aggressive sadness, let me tell you. 

And the fight against Thanatos. Holy shit, the fight against Thanatos.  This is probably the reason why Manigoldo got so many points in his favor. His selfless sacrifice to protect his old master, his stubbornness that kept him fighting, all the laughs and smiles and sarcasm... I know Sage had a part in this, but Manigoldo couldn’t have been presented better in a situation like that.  Not an always serious Saint, not even against a god. He retained his personality and manners, and didn’t let go of them. 

Needless to say, his death hit me real hard. I wanted to see more of him so much, that seeing him die had been a punch in the gut for me.  I really wanted to see more of him bantering, and being annoying and obnoxious just for the sake of it.  I wanted him to interact with more Saints other than Dohko and Tenma, because I loved how he talks with his peers.  Manigoldo has a place in my heart, and will always be there.

Consigue Caudillos de Chihuahua temporada perfecta en la LFA

Cierra la fase regular con 10 victorias y 0 derrotas.

Un primer cuarto donde las defensivas se impusieron en el emparrillado del Olímpico Universitario, el cero se rompió por vía aérea para Chihuahua, donde Jeremy Johnson conectó con Manuel Martínez un pase de 15 yardas para poner en ventaja de los locales 7-0, tras el punto extra bueno de Enrique López.

Ciudad Juárez respondería en la zona roja con un pase corto de 4 yardas para poner la pizarra 7-6, aún con ventaja para Caudillos.

Dentro del segundo cuarto, Chihuahua pegaría de nueva cuenta por aire, ahora sería Markcus Hardy con 5 yardas a su cuenta y poner el marcador 14-6. La distancia la incrementaría Juwan Manigo con una gran jugada de 65 yardas tras el pase de Johnson, marcador 21-6 para la localía.

Minutos antes del descanso Caudillos daría golpe de autoridad y pondría siete puntos más a su favor, en esta ocasión sería Emmanuel Harris con una gran recepción, aumentando los números a 28-6, marcador con el que se irían al descanso del partido.

Tras un tercer cuarto sin anotaciones, el último periodo abriría con una jugada de balón suelto de Fernando Mejía de Chihuahua, que aprovecharían los Jefes para llevar el ovoide a las diagonales y poner el marcador 28-12.

El ultimo cuarto, Caudillos de Chihuahua pudo dominar el juego terrestre y consumir el reloj a un partido que supo manejar la ventaja y momentos del partido. Con formación victoria y rodilla al piso, trascurrieron los últimos segundos del partido y Chihuahua firmaría el triunfo.
