Apart from two brief scenes that I can't complete without finalized assets, staging is DONE! That means, nearly all camera angles and approximate positions are established, and we're just about ready to get started on animation! Work's been moving along pleasantly quickly on this episode.

Here, we see a shot from when staging began, just checking how the characters fit in the scene--this is not actually a shot that will be in the final product.

Next, it might be another week as my assistants and I finish up some assets. Either that, or I'll try to get my part on the assets done over the weekend, then start on animation for parts where the assets aren't needed.

Alternatively, I might take a break for a week. I haven't been feeling too hot lately, and might need it.

Either way, it might be another week, and then something over a month to do animation work. Hopefully, things will keep going smoothly! Until next time!

For shinji's bday I had another photo shoot with my mantis shinshin (who has molted twice again since the last one). It's incredible to see just how big she's gotten, can't wait to see her reach her adult size.

She's just licking me, it doesn't hurt :)

This is Kokiri! Named after one of the villages near the Korok forest in BOTW. 💚🍃

She’s either a Giant Asian Mantis (Hierodula patellifera) OR a Giant Australian Rainforest Mantis (Hierodula majuscula).

I honestly cannot remember for the life of me. (Whoops!) The coloring of her inner forearms is making me lean slightly towards H. majuscula, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

with summer come the bugs. but this one might be sweet.

i will have to reprint the spiky claw parts because their range of motion is not quite what i meant it to be, but i was eager to still paint this first version. making insect girls is fun, and i have a few other bugs in progress to greet the terrors [heat & light] of summer.
