As a dev, can confirm.

I've used multiple dev- or sysadmin-oriented software without understanding what they were for, but they were needed by some other parts of the system.

I've been playing Trauma Team and I finally got to the first surgery section and I've been worrying about how it would feel with motion controls, and yeah a laser pointer is always going to be more awkward than a stylus, but my god the tool wheel is so good it might just make up for that.

In Under the Knife, each tool is a button on the touch screen. Simple, intuitive, easy to swap between, no problem. At least I thought there's no problem, until I realized: You have to move the stylus away from the spot your working on. And I realized that's a problem, because you don't have to do that in Trauma Team. And it feels INCREDIBLE.

Being able to laser a spot and then immediately gel it over, without removing my cursor from the spot, is so quick and so smooth and it feels so GOOD! All the switching is controlled by the nunchuk, so it doesn't interfere with your cursor movement at all. You can switch tools while moving your cursor to the next spot, so it basically takes no time at all, you aren't reaching back and forth across the screen over and over.

My only gripe is that they absolutely could have done this for the DS games too, but they just didn't

i'm slowly getting loser to the end of the watcher but i'm also rapidly getting to the end of my fucking rope

i didn't really understand why so many people didn't like the dlc but i'm starting to understand

like really i enjoyed the feeling of being lost and confused at first but it starts getting old past the 40hours playtime mark and really i'm just trying to reach the end but i'vehad to google shit so many times at this point and i even have like. to check the map online sometimes because i simply cannot take it anymore.

like idk, i still like the dlc and it's really an experience, but also the experience should be 10 hours shorter AND THERE ARE EASY WAYS TO MAKE IT SO. JUST SHOW US WHICH PARTS OF THE MAP HAVE A FUCKING [spoiler] FROM THE START.

Mediabread: Ender Lilies

This game rules, the art fucks, the upgrades are all fun, almost every weapon seems to have a use case... it's just the sort of "Challenging But Fair" that's perfect. Several bosses I've had to come back to another day, 20-40 attempts, having fun the whole time.

There's multiple endings, one is a fake-out and the third says "go recheck the map" as is metroidvania tradition. The map, in service of this, marks unused exits and incomplete rooms. If you've played normally, you probably have mostly clear rooms, so it's not bad at all to go clean up. This is great even before the ending - if I ever didn't know where to go, I just checked the exits I couldn't remember being impassable.

For people who are Very Good At Games it's probably on the easier side - the dodge is extremely invincible and the parry is very generous. More games do this please and thank you.

Once I've fought a foe a couple times, if I try to parry something, I can usually get it. If I try to dodge and I'm not stuck in an animation, I can pretty much always do it. This is how it should be. The challenge is learning the timings, not executing perfectly.

The music is also stellar, with most of the game having beautiful string arrangements (I don't music. there's definitely a better term.), and then the last area makes me want to crawl out of my skin. On purpose! And it did it without making me want to stop playing. Expertly done!

Gorgeous! Touching story! 9/10, this is up there near Hollow Knight so if you're waiting for Silksong, go play Ender Lilies. There's a sequel in Early Access (Ender Magnolia) that I'm 100% gonna play when it hits full release.

Look, now that we've moved beyond the hypothetical, with "new normal" heat waves of 110° for several days in a row, shaded parking places are the best. And they power lots of recharging stations for our plug-ins and EVs .

Occasionally I’ll find myself in a creative funk, just staring at the blank, white page of my journal, without a clue as to what to fill it with. When I’m feeling most creative, I’ll grab a sheet of paper and jot down ideas to use later when the creative ideas come to a halt. I thought perhaps you’d find some use in one of my lists so here it is. Do with it as you wish. You can pick and choose on the days when a little inspiration is in order, or you can turn it into a 40 day art journal challenge. The choice is yours. 

Choose a lyric from one of your favorite songs and bring it to life on a page. 

Go crazy with masking tape! 

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle- scoop up junk mail, paper bags, paper scraps, fabric scraps, WHATEVER, and use these things to create a background, then go nuts with color.

Journal about something or someone that inspires you. 

Paste a photograph that brings back a good memory to your page and design around it. 

Footprints. 

Turn found objects into stamps. A few good ones would be: an empty toilet paper roll, bubble wrap (if you can resist popping the bubbles!), crumpled paper, the sole of a shoe… The options are endless! 

Pick one word, any word. Include it in your entry. 

Illustrate what change looks like to you.

Silhouette(s). 

Happy vs. sad.

Draw a map of a made up place you’d like to visit/live. 

Go outside, sketch, paint, draw, or doodle whatever you see in front of you. 

Grab a few magazines and cut out your perfect outfit. Journal about where you’d wear it to, how it would make you feel…

Create an abstract painting of the room you’re in. 

Fingerprints.

If you were on death row, what would your last meal be? How would you spend your day? (A bit morbid, but just go with it!)

Practice painting or drawing letters in a new font you’ve never tried before. 

Burned paper. 

Opposite hand. Created a page using your less dominant hand. If you’re ambidextrous, use the hand you use less often. 

Circle madness. 

Don’t think, just do. Just slap some paint down and go to town. 

Playing with patterns.

A special someone. Journal about someone who you love dearly. 

Collage. 

The alphabet. 

Choose a song that reminds you of a dark time and bring it to life on the page. 

Get rid of it. Got something bothering you? Spill it out onto your journal page and leave it there. 

Tea art. Splash it, spill it, drip it, blob it… Create a background using your tea.

 Draw a tree and replace the leaves with random objects/doodles. 

Write down all of the things you dislike about yourself then cover it up with gesso, and write down all of the things you like about yourself.

Design a room that would inspire you just being in it.
