i’ve just decided to download the eng version of twst and i might’ve been reading a bit too much about this, but on the prologue scene, doesn’t it seem like most of the students know that they somehow need to escort you if you choose to take their hand? like they’ve probably received some sort of instructions beforehand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but with lilia, it’s pretty unique and quite in depth since “time” has been all the talk in diasomnia’s chapter now. he makes it seem like that we’re the one that’s currently running out of time and he knows it. but it’s possible that he said that considering how us, humans, have only a short lifespan compared to a fae like him, so time automatically becomes more valuable for us.
Tumblr media
while malleus, dear malleus is so clueless about what’s happening. it seems like someone called him there, said nothing, and just left him to question everything. he doesn’t even know who called him there. well it’s still very possible that we’re actually the one that called him i mean, i’d like to summon him too if i could
Tumblr media
now that if those lines are considered as clues, then probably malleus has nothing to do about our arrival in twisted wonderland. we all know that it’s probably crowley’s doing (i think i’ve written it in the post about crowley’s role as well), but i’m still questioning about the hand in the mirror.

February 2020 metrics
Total Words: 10,844
Most words on: Feb 8 at 1143
Fewest words on: Feb 2 at 246.
A slow month this month, but I got some really good news in terms of my personal life! I’m currently working on a mm science fantasy story called Diplomatic Corps (tentative blurb included below)! It features an ace Dom and an allo sub. It’s going to be plot-heavy with a side of kink, the story I’ve always wanted to write. I’ve always been kind of horrible at finishing my original stuff (honestly fanfic too), but I’m hoping this is the kick in the butt I need.
I’m planning to do a March Nano split between Diplomatic Corps and another BDSM fanfic, get more chapters on my patreon so I feel less guilty about taking money from my friends, and just write write write.  The Diplomatic Corps:  The war is old. The peace is new.
Cymosa and Anadol agreed to set down their arms after countless citizens died. A tentative interplanetary treaty has been established.
War is profitable. Peace is not.
A shadow group known only as the Conglomerate is rising in the galaxy. Moves have been made. Plans made years ago are underway. The Fortitude is a small Diplomatic Corps ship, but it is charted for a collision course, only this is not one sensors can detect.

seeing this post from @raven-at-the-writing-desk made me realize that jade’s groovied birthday card is always a moment later than floyd’s one. i’m sure there won’t be any confirmation regarding this, but could it be that floyd is the older twin?
like in this one:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in floyd’s card, he’s about to take jade’s strawberry off his cake, while in jade’s card it was already taken
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and on this year’s, floyd’s card showed him about to grab jade’s top part of his hat. while in jade’s, his hat had already been grabbed by floyd.

mickey, yuu, and the world of twisted wonderland
so, in the post that i wrote about silver, i mentioned how yuu could somehow communicate with mickey through something like a dream-world. in this post, i’ll write about my own theory about who yuu might be and what is twisted wonderland based on that speculation. but first, let’s take a look of this screenshot.
Tumblr media
the room looks incredibly familiar, doesn’t it? it’s almost identical to yuu’s room in ramshackle dorm. the screenshots were taken from “thru the mirror”, an old animated short released in 1936. for those who has just found out, it’s actually a pretty well-known fact that yuu’s room is basically based from this short animation. the animation itself was actually closely inspired by lewis carroll’s “alice through the looking glass”.
a little summary of “thru the mirror” to help the explanation better:
the opening scene showed that mickey fell asleep while reading the said book before he traveled into his own mirror into a topsy-turvy version of his house. everything was so bizarre there, aside from being the mirrored version of his house, there were a bunch of living furnitures with faces and personalities doing their own things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
mickey walked around interacting with the furnitures and exploring the strange mirror world before he angered the king of hearts for dancing with his queen. the king then fought mickey in a sword fight before he was ultimately defeated by mickey by being pushed into an inkwell. a stamp then pulled the king out before cleaning him. but the king became even more furious and he called all of the card soldiers to get rid of mickey. but mickey fought them, armed with a fountain pen as a gun and a thimble as a helmet, he shot the card soldiers, successfully stopping them from chasing him any further.
Tumblr media
however, the ink ran out and more chaos ensues. long story short, mickey eventually managed to return to his own room and returned to his own body before he got woken up by an alarm clock.
end of summary.
after gathering some thoughts about this animation, i think it’s safe to say that the world of twisted wonderland is the mirrored version of the normal disney world (well, this one is pretty obvious seeing how the villains are treated like heroes in this world). the name itself is also obviously taken from “alice adventures in wonderland”, which is the first book before “alice through the looking glass”. so i think how yuu ended up in this world could be just like how alice ended up in wonderland. which means that the whole twisted wonderland is actually just a dream. someone’s dream to be exact.
about the animation itself, the one that took my attention the most was the scene with ink. it looks closely like an overblot scene, doesn’t it? and there’s also the fact that overblot incidents in nrc only started to happen right after yuu and grim got admitted into the said college. so it’s possible that they’re the ones that unconsciously somehow induced or triggered this incidents to keep happening. and after that being said, could it be that yuu is actually a twisted version of mickey himself? i know this crazy theory is kinda pushing it, but there’s also the fact that we had only been seeing mickey through the said mirror, and mickey and yuu were pretty much a polar opposite of each other: mickey is the first official disney character, the mascot, the center of disney; while yuu knows nothing about disney (showed in their reaction about the great 7 and the dreams), just a random person from another world.
now if the card soldiers were actually the illustrations of overblot incidents that had happened so far, then who was the king of hearts? i would say crowley, the principal of the said students. i read a theory a long time ago, saying how crowley could actually be in a constant overblotted state but he could somehow stabilize it, yet couldn’t get rid of all of its trace; that’s why he kept hiding his face behind a mask. that theory actually aligned nicely with the king of hearts scene where he fell into the inkwell, got cleaned, but still enraged. but we’ll see how close will the story follows this short animation.
hopefully that concludes all i got from analyzing the short animation, but i’d also like to include some interesting facts about “alice through the looking glass that’s not depicted in “thru the mirror”. i said above that the whole twisted wonderland could be made from someone’s dream, right? now you might think that if it’s someone’s dream, then it’d be obviously yuu’s dream since they’re the main character of this story. well, it could be, but it’s probably not the case if the story follows the book. in “alice through the looking glass”, even though it’s obvious that alice was the main character of the story, the whole looking glass world was actually said to be made by the red king’s dream (not to be confused with the king of hearts, they’re different for all i know). should the king ever woke up, then the whole world will vanish.
now, if i have to make a guess on who the red king of twst would be, then of course it would be malleus. not only because of the opening art where it seems that he’d just woken up from the coffin, but remember what he said in the dorm introduction video? he’d make us the main character of this story. and he even said it again in chapter 7 trailer that he would show us a true happy end. seems to me that he had the power and awareness about whatever’s happening in twst.
oh, it’s actually also possible that not everything was dream, even in the book, there were actually some moments where the dream and reality was blurred. so even if twst is actually a dream world, it’s possible that’s not everything happening there was only a mere dream.
that will be all, let’s end this post here today. i actually still have some interesting facts about the red queen and how time worked in the looking glass world that might be related to twst, but let’s save it for another time.

yuu in glorious masquerade event
since malleus decided to come home early, it made me feel like i wanting to share my thought about this event (it really got nothing to do with that fact actually). in the current masquerade event, a lot of people have been speculating that malleus will sort of get the role of esmeralda due to how it seems like rollo (ロロ)–which is the twst version of frollo–has a questionable obsession towards him. i don’t know how much of that will be correct or how much the story follows the plot of the hunchback of notre dame (1996), but i think the possibility is really likely.
but then, what about yuu? i don’t think that we will simply get the role of a silent audience knowing that the principal had pushed us into going to the symposium. and i’m pretty sure everyone realized that in the main story, that’s closely following the plot of their each respective movie, yuu has always sided with the ones that have the role of the heroes, if not being the hero themselves (alice in chapter 1, simba in chapter 2, ariel in chapter 3, aladdin in chapter 4, a little exception in chapter 5, and hercules in chapter 6). so how about this event?
i’m currently relying on translation while following the story of this event, but it seems like rollo almost has a soft spot for yuu based on how he interacts with them? from what i see, it looks like he pities yuu for being the only magicless student in a school full of magicians. saying that it must have been tiring for yuu for dealing with that fact every single day. and you know who that interactions remind me of? quasimodo.
we know that in the movie, quasimodo was seen as an abnormality, someone that’s not in the same standing as everyone else due to his unique condition. but despite how much frollo despised him, deep down there was still an ounce of pity that he actually felt for him because of his condition (maybe it didn’t exactly being shown in the movie though). and despite how awful he treated quasimodo, quasimodo believed him to be the only person that truly cared about his well-being, even though those act of “kindness” was actually just a ruse to hide him. but it’s also true that despite everything, frollo still raised and taught him enough.
now back on to rollo and yuu. first, he knew well enough that yuu is magicless. he kinda put special care for them since they’re different from the rest of the students, almost like how frollo put special care for quasimodo. but of course with more manner since yuu came from another school. then when the nrc students split into groups for field works, he specifically asked what yuu would be doing. he seemed to care enough for them to be worried on whatever they’d do. well, of course we can assume that he’s genuinely concerned about yuu for being magicless and all, but it doesn’t erase the possibility that what he’s actually worried about was that words could get out that there’s a magicless student that attended a symposium in the renowned nbc. maybe not to that extreme, but just something along the way. we still can’t trust this man after all.
oh and don’t forget about the fact how yuu had a special relation with malleus. so if he got the role of esmeralda in this event, then of course there’s a possibility that yuu would have the role of quasimodo as well. and maybe then they’ll have more screen time together interacting with each other? let’s hope so.

some notes and thoughts on fyodor’s death in the latest chapter of the manga:
he was shown to be killed twice with an open wound that spilled his blood
i thought that he could switch bodies with the one where his blood splattered on, but apparently that wasn’t the case with the vampire in the helicopter
i’ve seen some people commented that his ability’s condition got something to do with his blood, but i think the wound matters more than the blood itself. honestly, i’m not so sure with myself about this but this is my conclusion for the former point
probably the other important part was the one that inflicted the wound or the killing blow, maybe the condition was simply that he needed to be killed to switch or host a new body to keep on living
for now we know that he’s already an ancient being that nothing ever succeeded ed in killing him
for the reason why he deceived everyone to avoid them touching him was maybe because he was preventing them to accidentally wounding him and activated his ability.
and that second personality of fyodor’s might not be so much of a fake after all(?)
sorry if these are hard to read, i’m just trying to sort my thoughts and simple evidences first. but anyone can go ahead and be wild with your theories if you’re interested 🩶

has anyone pointed out that crowley’s staff literally looks the same as maleficent’s staff with diablo on it?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it also resembles a key… which reminds me of the crow on top of malleus’ coffin in the official art
Tumblr media
so… is crowley really malleus’ familiar/servant or are they related even closer than that? ancestor, or maybe even the same person from different timeline?
but whoever he is, i’m halfway expecting that he’s someone we know well

more theory about chapter 7
a bit more detail from sleeping beauty (1959), there’s an interesting line from fauna saying that despite being a know-all, maleficent is said to be unhappy since she doesn’t know anything about love, kindness, and the joy of helping others. that’s quite a fitting parallel with malleus because despite having lived long enough to know about a lot of things in life, he never really experienced a true friendship.
now that he found a companionship within yuu and found his own happiness within it, he’s probably afraid of losing it. this is also strengthened by his voice line where he said “you aren’t afraid of me. but i’m starting to become afraid of losing you.” for now, there are 2 possibilities that might take that happiness away from him. one is that yuu has found a way to get home and the other is caused by their mortality. all that talk from lilia in chapter 6 probably triggered something within him that made him realized about the mortality and fragility of a human and made him became even more frightened from that inevitable outcome.
so i agree with the popular theory that yuu will probably get cursed along with silver here. at first i thought that theory is too romanticized for my liking, but it’s really possible that his fear of losing will drive him to selfishly put them into a long sleep to preserve their lives. but here comes another interesting fact, from what we know and conclude, maleficent’s curse and malleus’ curse purpose is the opposite of each other. while maleficent put that curse to kill aurora, malleus probably put his curse to keep his beloveds alive. maleficent’s curse was then weakened by merryweather who turned it into a deep eternal sleep until aurora got her true love’s kiss, but we don’t know how much malleus’ curse can be weakened. it’s also possible that it would proceed like in maleficent (2014), but that mean that a certain condition must have been set beforehand and fulfilled at some point in the story, because we know from both sleeping beauty and maleficent movie that the curse was irreversible.

i think that malleus hummed the last part of Once Upon a Dream, in which the lyrics are:
“And I know it's true that visions are seldom all they seem
But if I know you, I know what you'll do
You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream”
does it indicate how the stories and things that we see (the events and vignettes), except the main story, are not real? i did make that speculation here as well and when i noticed the part that he sang, the lyrics sort of fit into it. or maybeee he only sang that part because it ends well lol.
and yes malleus, i will still love you even after the dream is over

i notice that there’s a paralel between idia and lilia to aurora and philip in book 7.
i will write it under the cut for possible book 7 spoiler below.
remember how aurora and philip were betrothed since philip was a kid and aurora was a baby, but they didn’t recognize each other when they grew up. they, however, fell in love with each other when they met in the forest without knowing that they’re actually engaged.
it’s like how idia and lilia were close as online gaming friends but not knowing that they actually knew each other in school. and idia even refused to go to lilia’s farewell party to grief about losing his online friend, just like how philip refused to meet aurora on her birthday celebration to find his love.
now that lilia is cursed, will idia become the key to resolve this incident? just like how philip did.

time reset and crowley’s role
most people who read about twst theories probably know about the time loop theory. and now that we also got more hints about malleus’ power that’s able to stop time, i think it’s even more possible for this theory to be true (of course with malleus as the main culprit for it).
what disturbs me for now is how long did we, or at least grim (i will explain later), stay in the coffin before grim force opened it? remember that idia said that grim got an ancient curse on him that’s probably from thousand of years ago, but why did it just suddenly appear on him in this current era out of nowhere? it’s also mentioned a lot how grim is considered as a unique creature even in twisted wonderland, but based on what idia said about the curse, there should be no doubt that he really comes from twisted wonderland.
what if, the reason that yuu was in the coffin wasn’t simply because it was the mean to transport us (yuu) from our world into twisted wonderland, but because of the curse that malleus put? he did say that we wouldn’t notice even if a thousand years have passed when we’re asleep after all. remember how we lost the battle against grim at the very start of the game? in which not even malleus could even beat him? what if that very battle put yuu in danger and the only way to save everyone was to put the whole twisted wonderland fall into a deep slumber, including malleus himself (hence why we saw him raising from the same coffin). but he didn’t simply put everyone to sleep, he’s actually resetting whatever happened to try and prevent that outcome over and over again.
and that’s where crowley’s role lies. if this whole theory is true, then he’s probably the only one that’s aware of it. whether crowley’s really the principal or just some stand in that malleus put, his main role is probably to prevent the disaster from happening again after the reset. the other possibility is that yuu wasn’t actually involved in the original incident, but had only been summoned right before the reset started (that’s why i said at least only grim stayed for so long in the coffin in the 2nd paragraph), seeing how we immediately got the role as the beast tamer after we got there, to keep grim in check. also, don’t forget how crowley actively looked for the overblot stone as well in chapter 5, which should be the most efficient method to prevent grim’s incident if crowley succeed. and he also never seemed to put any effort to find a way home for us as well (even though he could send the tsums back to their world in an instant :<). the line which he said “we don’t have much time left” can also indicate that the reset is going to start instead of how malleus’ power is running out.
and maybe, it seems like they’re going to fail again in this time reset and malleus is once again forced to curse everyone into a deep sleep again in book 7, along with yuu this time. he might suddenly remember about the time reset and tries to do it again, that’s why he said “don’t be afraid”, because he had already experienced it.
however, there’s a huge plot hole that i couldn’t figure out yet about this theory, in which how the civilization work. if malleus put the whole twisted wonderland into sleep, then there’s no way for idia to figure out that grim’s curse is an ancient one from thousands of years ago, it should be like as if time doesn’t flow at all when they’re asleep, they wouldn’t know that it’s been a thousand year since they fell asleep. if he only did it to the ones impacted from grim’s incident, then there would be a huge gap between them and the outside world. and if he only put grim and himself to sleep, then the reset couldn’t happen at all. there’re also this dream variable with silver and mickey that i haven’t calculated in this thought yet.
after all that’s said, i notice how this theory is still full of flaw and has been a huge “what if”, you see. it’s pretty wild, but at the same time still pretty possible, i think. i’m sorry if you find this post a mess of a writing, i was still arranging my thoughts as well at the same time that i wrote this lol.

rewatching the diasomnia book trailer and just realized something.
Tumblr media
“you will ALL”??? are we in a multiverse or something? like there are really multiple yuu(s)??
maybe “yuu” is “you” after all lol, like how it stands for each player and reader of this game and each become the main character of the story. maybe this is why it revolves around us despite us being magicless (and almost powerless if i might add), because it turns out that someone (malleus) is plotting it to revolve around us, to make us the main character.
and what if malleus loves us in every universe 👉👈🥺
but why does malleus insist that he needs a main character in the said fairytale? is this fairytale made just for us? or are we the one that’s dragged into his so called fairytale? and does by “fairytale” it actually mean the whole twisted wonderland? or is it a dream world which he’s about to make?
so many questions and i’m actually sleepy, sorry if this turns out like a drunk post lol

spoiler warning for diasomnia book(?):
i think that the events and groovied cards in twst might be the dreams from the sleeping curse after all. the timeline doesn’t fit and they’re all the protagonists in the story as well. also, remember how the groovy cards are shown, there’re thorns all over them before it changes. the ending made it seem like the whole twisted wonderland just happened once upon a dream. if so, then it really is like Alice Through the Looking Glass.
that ending is so beautifully haunting, it’s so perfect BUT I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPEN NEXT 😭🥀 MALLEUS PLS

silver’s role
i’m actually still not really sure about silver’s role. as you know, his characteristics resemble princess aurora a lot; he’s always sleepy, liked by small animals, he’s canonically beautiful, etc. there’s also the new theory that he will have merryweather role whom will weaken the sleeping curse.
but i think, so far the most fitting one would be prince philip’s role. there are a lot of clues as well that indicates that he might be philip in twst. first, in the each dorm trailer, he said a line that said he thinks that he had met yuu somewhere before, which is quite similar to what philip said when he first met aurora (”don’t you remember? we have met before. you said so yourself, once upon a dream”). and in chapter 6, mickey said that he saw someone with a similar description to silver through the mirror, just like how he sees yuu, and i kinda presume that we communicate with mickey through some kind of dream world (it has something to do with “thru the mirror” but i won’t talk about it here). there is also the fact that his coffin got that sword of truth symbol, which is the sword given to philip to defeat maleficent. there is also that scene in chapter 7 trailer where silver opened his eyes and the thread–that’s probably an illustration of malleus’ curse–gone. which could be an indicator that he will have an important role on breaking the curse.
i know that it seems like he would also get cursed in that video as well, and he probably would. but while we know that philip didn’t get cursed in the movie, it’s also important to know that he wasn’t free either. he got trapped and captured by maleficent to prevent him from breaking aurora’s curse. so putting silver into sleep might also be another mean to prevent him from breaking the curse, aside from preserving his own life. but so far, we obviously don’t know what would be the condition to break the said sleeping curse.

chapter 7 theory
so, i just rewatched the original sleeping beauty (more like skimmed through it) since the chapter 7 trailer has been released. i’m sure that there has already been theory about crowley being maleficent’s familiar going around and i think i found a little detail that might strengthen this theory.
when the 3 fairies hid aurora in the forest, maleficent lost her sight on the princess and ordered all of her subordinates to find her. but since most of them are fools and couldn’t do the job properly, she became frustrated and sent her familiar on the search for aurora.
here’s the thing, in the prologue, it seemed like crowley was the one that somehow summon yuu into twisted wonderland with the help of the magic mirror. and in the chapter 7 trailer, it’s also possible that yuu would also be the one being cursed (probably along with silver) with malleus’ “gift”.
now, if silver’s role is actually like merryweather, which is to weaken the curse, then who would actually break the curse? it’s possible that he would also be the who would do it since he’s symbolized as the sword of truth, but i think that breaking the curse and stopping malleus would be 2 different task because in the movie, even after maleficent died, the curse didn’t break until philip kissed aurora.
my delusional ass wished that the task of breaking the curse would fall into whoever we first chose to take the hand in the prologue (you know, the one before we fought ob grim i think). but we’ll see how wrong this will get. also, please excuse my ramble, it’s probably rather incoherent since it’s been a long time since i tried explaining things english and then tried to do so in 3.30 am 💀
