Marching Band Gothic

You have been in the band room hundreds of times. It never changes.

Why does that bass drum never get used? We don't know. We don't question it.

One more time, says the band director. It's never just one more time.

Where did we find those guard silks? We don't know. The guard doesn't know. We never bought them.

There are many bands in the lot. All helpful, yet none know where yours is. Where is your band? Hurry, visual block starts soon.

You can hear the battery rehearsing on the football field. You are at home and practice ended an hour ago.

You left your glove at 7-11. A band mom found it five minutes before the football game,

The rain pours down. One more time, your director says.

You could have sworn that that one kid was a senior four years ago. He's still here.

No matter how hard you try you cannot leave. You have tried so many times.

This fundraiser has been used a dozen times this year. Still it works.

The football game has not ended. It's been six hours and the football game continues.

Your fingers are numb from the cold. Just yesterday, you had to wear a tank top at rehearsal.

The metronome clicks in your dreams.

Where are your band's props? They were here an hour ago. Everybody else's props are here. Where are yours?

It's show day, you're going to be late. One more time, your director says.

You broke a reed. The next day, you find it whole in your case.

Your other tans have faded. Your sock tan stays.

You fall asleep. When you wake up you're in the band room. Did you fall asleep there?

You cannot remember where you left your drill book. You still remember your freshman year music.

Last time, I promise, your band director says. It's not.

The Cadets “Between Angels & Demons”

This is the Victory Performance from The Cadets back in ‘11 at DCI World Championships (field POV). TOTALLY worth checkin’ out! Absolutely insanely-detailed show (in typical drum corps flair). The Cadets DBC has ALWAYS been a significant influence for me (learned a great deal from a good amount of former Cadets who taught me in Magic what drum corps truly is all about).

From pit kids during PT to forgetting the horns down how awkward are you

I can’t remember if I posted this or not, but this is a compilation of all the videos taken of us when we marched at Magic Kingdom this past March!

The only thing about it I don’t care for is that they all recorded pretty much the same parts, which happen to be almost just cadences. You can hear us play the short version of the Fight Song and the beginning of Sweet Child o Mine at the end of the video though!

This was the best and most fun trip I’ve ever taken and I will definitely remember it for the rest of my life!
