You're not special. (Not in a rude wayy !! ^_^ ) You're not the only one who can't shift, because you've been shifting your whole life. (But at the same time you're soo special because barely 1% of humans in this reality believe in shifting I think)

And shifting isn't hard unless you think it is. Also, people with 2020 shiftok information with all the 69-step methods, needing to drink 2 liters of water every microsecond, etc.. They still managed to shift! So it's definitely possible, and since you're on tumblr (w better info on shifting..) you know the truth! Shifting is easy, you can script anything, but you don't even need a script, or a method, or subliminal, all you need is you.

Another thing.. doubts. I personally view them as a shifting symptom (you don't need to have symptoms to shift btw !!) Why? simply, doubts are an uncertainty and lack of confidence in an area, normally it can occur after a change in your normal routine or it can be this rlly weird feeling and doubt whilst you're attempting/manifesting a particular outcome..

our body reacts before our mind does. Do you ever get that one weird gut feeling? our gut is like our second brain and it may not make sense right at that moment but later on it always does - this is a lot similar to doubts w shifting + manifesting ^^

doubts are completely normal !! :3 + Is our mind trying to protect ourselves from change soo what to do? ( a lot of my posts end this way for some reason lmfao) PERSIST !!! ^_^

Her teasing voice cut through the silence like a knife, your eyes hesitantly rising from off the floor to meet her piercing gaze from where she had you pinned against the side of the wall. No one else was around for the time being, but that didn't mean the two of you didn't have the chance of getting caught should things go too far.

Not that any of that mattered, as right now all you could think about was the smell of her perfume and the flecks in her eyes and the way her breathing was starting to intermingle with yours due to how close you were. The heat from her body washed over you like a warm blanket, the feeling of her hands moving out to playfully trace along your sides being enough to send sparks jolting up and down your spine in a way that had your breath hitching and left your knees weak.

Unable to find the words, you simply shook your head no at her question, the action causing her to let out a titter of laughter. It sounded like the heavens had opened up just then, and in a way they had by blessing you with the close proximity you had to such a flawless individual.

"Good, because I wouldn't want you to flake out on me," she muttered while leaning in close enough for her breath to ghost over the side of your face. You almost moaned at the sultry way she spoke into your ear, knowing exactly what she was doing to you.

She had you right where she wanted you to be, and that was caught under her spell as she lured you further and further into a submissive and docile headspace, wanting you to be kept obediently hers. And God help you, but there was no other place you'd rather be.

I think it's interesting that after Jayce's trial, Viktor correctly predicts Jayce would end up in his apartment when he goes to meet him and Mel correctly predicts she would find Jayce trying to get his research from Heimerdinger's office but the reason Jayce was there to be found was due to Viktor.

Mel was looking for the next innovation to put Piltover on the map, she saw the potential in Jayce at his trial and pushed against his exile. I think she was likely waiting by Heimerdinger's office to see if he would come, would Jayce ignore the set backs and push on regardless, it's likely the type of person she's looking for.

But Jayce isn't that person, at least initially, it takes his partnership with Viktor for him to get there.

I just wonder about Mel's perspective, her waiting near the office to see if the person she sees potential in will live up to that, only for him to also turn up with someone else. Did she think Jayce sought out Viktor and convinced him to help? It might seem the more obvious option, Heimerdinger's assistant would be best placed for Jayce to get back his research.

The potential that Mel saw was never just Jayce, it was always Jayce and Viktor together and it's why I find it quite tragic that she inadvertently creates space between them while pushing Jayce towards politics. I've never felt that Mel had bad intentions in her relationship with Jayce, but I wish we'd seen more Mel and Viktor interactions, was she aware of just how equal Jayce and Viktor's partnership was? I think she was very aware he was important but as she says to Jayce, she had no idea how close they were.

I think Mel saw the potential in Jayce and helped to mould him to be the best he could be but I'm not sure she knew how important Viktor's role in doing that would be.

mel isn’t manipulative. she didn’t manipulate jayce. she didn’t seduce him for political gain (and let’s be real, what would the most powerful woman in the most progressive city have to gain by seducing the tech bro who built the equivalent of a high speed railway? (sorry jayce XD)).

mel is kind. she went out of her way to ensure that jayce and viktor’s dream wasn’t corrupted. jayce was the one to break that promise. she did her level best to try and convince her mother to leave piltover out of her desire for conquest, going even so far as to offer herself up as a sacrifice.

mel is intelligent. she knows what buttons to push, sure. she knows how to navigate a party bc she’s been in politics all her life. she was able to predict her mother’s (an experienced war general) moves before she made them. but she never used that for her own gain. she genuinely believed she was doing and did her best to use that political prowess to do what she believed was right.

mel is loving. i mean, do you see the way she looks at jayce? even when , after the ravine and the black rose, and she and jayce aren’t together or are at least choosing not to focus on anything relating to their relationship (from my personal interpretation), she still very clearly held love for him. it’s clear that despite how much she and her mother have been through, she still loves her mother.

she is privileged. she’s a counselor, and she doesn’t spend much time in or focusing on the undercity. it’s unclear whether she knew about the state of the undercity, but it’s safe to assume the council new something. she believes she is doing good but because of her status she likely didn’t know or realize how to actually make a true difference. however, she was the first to garner support for jayce and viktor and their brokered peace agreement with silco. she was the voice of reason needed to lead the council to side with jayce. if jinx hadn’t dropped the bomb, there very well would have been peace and independence for zaun, and it would have been in great thanks to mel.

she is complex and interesting and such a wonderful character. i wish she was treated better in this fandom. i wish i could go back and treat her better. i own up to the fact that my very first fic leaned into some of the questionable fandom characterizations of her. i look back and deeply regret many of the choices i made regarding her characterization and i am actively working to change that within myself. i will never write another fic where i villainize her, ever again.

if you think that perpetuating harmful stereotypes and archetypes in relation to mel is ok or not a big deal, you should leave. this is not a safe space for mel haters.

but yea, i think mel is absolutely a firebender avatar. the entire medarda family are firebenders and sevika is an earthbender who can also metalbend. lowkey wanna headcanon her as a lavabender too while i’m at it 🤫

i have several melvika fics in the works including the atla au but idk when i’ll actually finish it because i’ve been obsessed with playing infinity nikki over my winter break and catching up with old friends/family while also preparing myself for the new year 😅
