Here's a story about the DAR (D.A.R.) School opening a new school year 100 years ago. It was an all-girl school then, not becoming co-ed until 1932.                                                                                                         D.A.R. SCHOOL BEGAN NEW YEAR 100 YEARS AGO - (The following story was in the September 27, 1922 issue of the Keowee Courier). . .Saturday, Sept. 30th, will be formal opening day at the D.A.R. school at Tamassee. All boarders are expected that day. All friends are invited to bring lunch baskets for an all-day picnic, with a spread at 12 m. and another at 5 p.m. . . .Talks and music will follow immediately after the noon meal. The Victor-Monaghan band and some other musicians are expected. . .Those who wish may shower the school with seed to plant or anything that is good to eat or use at the school or on the farm. Any one who would like to lend a good cow in milk is asked to contact the school at once. Gifts of money, though small, would be most welcome. . .Through the work of Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Sheppard a splendid lot of home-grown vegetables and fruits in tin and glass is on the pantry shelves. . .On Saturday, Sept. 16, the neighbors were invited to a quilting, Mrs. J.S. Sheppard assisting as hostess. One quilt was made and eleven comforts, the ladies stopping work only when the cotton ran out. . .Mrs. Cornelia Jones came calling, and seeing the need, offered to send cotton for the other three comfort tops. The girls will make these, and also hem the ones tasked as a sewing lesson. . .Those who were present at the quilting were: Mesdames A. Ernest, William Sheppard, W.C. Whitmire, Z.N. Story of the pretzel: Pretzels were introduced to America in the 1700s.  The pretzel began in 617 AD when a monk used the little pieces of left over dough to twist a pretiola,  “little treat,” for children after their prayers.  Historically hands were placed on opposite shoulders while praying.  The twist of the pretzel reminded children of praying, and the three holes represented the Holy Trinity, God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Today, the common everyday pretzel can remind us all of the presence of the Holy Spirit in our everyday lives.

Độ ẩm cao là một trong những nguyên nhân chính tác động đến chất lượng của vải trong quá trình sản xuất hàng dệt may. Khi độ ẩm trong không khí quá cao khiến tơ sợi, vải bị ẩm, mốc, phai hay ố màu, bị khô cứng, mục rách, có mùi hôi khó chịu,... Điều này tác động không nhỏ đến chất lượng của sản phẩm mà còn ảnh hưởng trực tiếp tới sức khỏe của người sử dụng. Vật liệu, thành phẩm bị giảm chất lượng cũng gây thiệt hại kinh tế rất lớn cho các doanh nghiệp.

Điều kiện thời tiết ảnh hưởng một phần trong việc lưu kho của các nhà máy may mặc. Đặc biệt như ở nước ta, độ ẩm trung bình năm ở mức khá cao khoảng 80%. Trong khi đó, độ ẩm an toàn trong việc bảo quản và lưu trữ các nguyên vật liệu, thành phẩm dệt may nên dao động trong mức từ 50% - 60%. Do đó, việc sử dụng các thiết bị chuyên dụng như máy khử ẩm công nghiệp sẽ giúp việc bảo quản thành phẩm may mặc được tối ưu hơn.

Kosmen vừa hoàn thành lắp đặt và bàn giao thiết bị cho công ty Maxport Limited tại kho bảo quản, xưởng sản xuất. Phía công ty mong muốn sử dụng máy hút ẩm để bảo quản các sợi, vải, hàng hóa lưu kho tốt hơn, máy móc trong xưởng hoạt động trơn tru và nâng cao sức khỏe cho người lao động.
