Hello OFMD Tumblr thingie, and all the amazing people who are out there, and especially the ones who've been making all the posts that have made me so happy over the last few months. 💖💖💖 First and most importantly, thank you, thank you, thank you, to anyone who sees this!

This is my first post to Tumblr (probably pretty obvious from my huge lack of Tumblr sophistication! And the length of this post...) If you don't count reblogging things that I wanted to be able to find again. I've braved up to comment thank you to people a couple of times, but that's been it so far. I must admit it all looks a bit scary from this side of the glass, even though I can also see how friendly people mostly are.

But OFMD fandom is big! And you've been here a long time! I loved Series 1 when I watched it, and knew I wanted to watch out for Series 2, but it wasn't until I re-watched it when the Series 2 trailer came out on BBC iPlayer that I fell veeeery in love with it! And by then you were already here, and there was a language and debates about things I'd barely even noticed, and it's mostly me staring with big eyes thinking wow, and sometimes huh? and... well, you know. Plus there's trying to work out Tumblr, which I definitely haven't actually managed to do yet, and possibly never will, so... I decided to just jump in and post summat. Even just rambling, which is a bit of a specialty of mine... I mean - what's the worst that can happen, right? 😬

So... how come now? Well, I can't make art or gorgeous screenshots or gifs. I do write, but I'm still hanging out to get the right voices in my keyboard... I know them when I hear them, but you've gotta get the right rhythm going, and I'm not quite there yet, I don't think. Although really, I should probably just sit down and try (and stop waiting for work to shut up and give me time - I should be a pirate and take it!)

Anyway (told you about the rambling...) what I'm mostly doing apart from rewatching the eps on a constant loop is reading the fic. I'm picking it according to kudos on AO3, and according to recs that I see on Tumblr, and it's occured to me that alot of the stories I'm loving must have been recced looong ago, and that newbies like me totally missed them, and so maybe I could do my own recs, even if they are of older stories, and someone might find them useful. You know, if I work out how anyone else might ever see my posts. 😁 And if people aren't put off by my probably age-revealing use of emojis. (But I am entirely age-appropriate for Ed and Stede, and if I had to look up what zaddy meant too, well, that just means I matched Rhys Darby's expression in the bts, right? 🤨)

So it's not much, but I'd like to contribute even just a tiny bit to OFMD fandom in return for everything it gives me, so... yeah. That's my plan. I'll start in a bit, but this post is probably already too long since it's just rambling. And kind of dull. I should probably have said tl:dr at the top, shouldn't I, but then maybe anyone who actually saw this wouldn't, so... See, I kind of live in hope. 😊

“come on, get to it,” choso clapped, trying to get yuji to make his way upstairs. the little boy sighed, getting off of the couch and going upstairs with his older brother still following.

“can’t i stay up for a couple more hours?” itadori tilted his head, looking up at choso. the male sighed.

“you have school and you need to be in bed,” choso advised. though, he was correct and he was just trying to help yuji, he wanted to keep up his plans with you instead of leaving you to watch the movie on your own. “i have a doctors appointment in the morning also. we should be going to sleep.”

“wait why, are you okay?”

“i’ll be okay. it’s just an annual. and you have one coming too, so be ready for that.” choso smiled at his little brother’s consideration for his health. the male picked yuji up and decided to tickle his sides, making the boy laugh loudly.

“okay, now get to bed,” choso announced abruptly, putting the boy back down onto the floor. like before, yuji threw his arms around choso, telling him good night and running up to his room.

after that, choso would take a shower, deciding that he’d wash his hair also. once he finished, he’d dry himself off, shivering from the cold air hitting his skin as he walked back to his room.

back in his room, choso would close the door and start to clean up. making his bed, reorganizing his closet and tossing out things that he deemed useless at the time.

he’d pull the towel from around his waist, leaving him exposed for a moment before he’d quickly put on some clothes. his usual grey joggers. he didn’t even bother putting on a shirt.

choso plopped down onto his bed, finally happy that he could relax. it wasn’t long before his eyes started to close and he drifted off to sleep.

the day’s events quickly faded into nothing but fragments of his memory. even his promises slipped his mind. the male was lying on his stomach, hugging his pillow as if he had nothing to worry about in life.

then it hit him.

his eyes snapped open and he quickly sat up on the bed, remembering you. choso just groaned. he didn’t want to think of you right now. especially when he was just trying to fight his emotions.

you were probably staring at your screen with a slightly disappointed expression when you realized that choso stood you up after nervously agreeing to watch a movie with you.

maybe you weren’t disappointed. you probably had a boyfriend to replace him if he didn’t follow through with his plans with you. he didn’t even know why he was so hung up on you. you had the poor boy losing his mind.

choso was eyeing his laptop that was sitting on the desk, thinking if he should do something to satisfy his worries—if he should call you again.

‘call her? i said that i would do it.’ he thought. ‘no, don’t do that. you’d be wasting your energy. she probably has a boyfriend….you got played…like a fucking idiot.’

choso was now staring at the ceiling with his music playing, smoking a blunt while tears of frustration began to form in his eyes.

he had never been in love before. if the concept was ever brought up to him, he’d shrug it off and not participate in the conversation because he doesn’t know what it feels like to be in a relationship.

this whole situation was upsetting him. it hadn’t even been a week yet and feelings were swelling up in his mind. maybe if he just skipped his break or kept quiet, he wouldn’t be feeling like this.

suddenly, he hears his door opening. as the entrance of his room opens, the smoke from his joint slip out.

“are you okay?” yuji asked. choso looked up, following the voice and tracing it back to his little brother. the male sighed and just took a drag of his joint.

“go to bed, yuji…” he mumbled.

yuji climbed into bed with choso and sat beside him. “how come you’re crying? i never seen you cry before.”

“i—no, you’re too young to understand it. i don’t wanna tell you and you don’t get it.” choso took a drag of his blunt again before wiping away his tears.

yuji went silent for a moment before speaking up again. “i can still listen. just tell me what’s wrong.” the small boy offered. choso looked down before taking a breath.

“i like this girl so much…” choso began, “but every time i wanna interact, i get nervous and i always think about the worst case scenario. another thing, i don’t have time to be in love with anyone. i’d probably be a horrible partner anyway.”

“was it the lady at the store?” yuji asked.

“yes…”

“i knew it. you do like her,” yuji smiled, “um…i think you should still talk to her. she’s really nice—and she smells like strawberries.”

‘how do you even remember that?’ choso grimaced.

“she probably has a boyfriend. it doesn’t matter…”

“did you ask her…?”

choso flushed, “no, i didn’t ask. i don’t wanna ask personal questions to somebody i just met…it’s weird.”

“ask her,” yuji said.

choso sighed and nodded, taking in the advice.

a week passed by and choso had been thinking for a while. no call from you and you got nothing from him. it was radio silence in both directions. it made him feel worse but better at the same time.

tonight, the male was working, showing off how good of a bartender he was with that stale expression on his face. this was the first time he had actually shown off his skill because he was terribly shy.

from a distance, he noticed you walking in with another guy. he wanted to laugh because he already knew that would happen.

‘i was right. my intuition almost never fails.’

choso started to feel the irritation rising up in him despite his dead expression. his body was hot with anger but pain because he knew he couldn’t react like the way he wanted…

because you weren’t together.

the slit across his nose that he was so insecure about, neatly covered with a bandage began to bleed. the thick crimson fluid streamed down his cheeks like tears and slowly down to his lips.

his fingers were stained with the crimson fluid once he touched his face. he quickly made his way to the bathroom, trying not to be seen by anyone.

he stared at himself in the mirror, blood still streaming down his face and hitting the counter as he desperately tried to clean the mess off of his face.

suddenly the door opens. choso covered his nose again with a tissue when he turned around and spotted you walking in. the two of you made eye contact.

“what happened, are you okay?” you walked up to choso and you were about to take him by his wrists to move his hands that had been covering his bloody nose but it was obvious that he didn’t want you to see that.

‘please don’t…’

“nothing—it’s…just a nose bleed.” choso was still covering his nose, blood now streaming down his hands, making a bit more of a mess. you managed to move his hands, revealing the cut that he was so insecure about. you could see his cheeks reddening out of embarrassment now that you seen the one thing that he had been hiding from the world.

you would grab some face wipes from your purse and you bring choso down to your level to wipe the crimson fluid from his face, flinching as the cool wipe traveled over the bridge of his nose.

“sorry,” you whispered.

“no, it’s fine…i think.” choso replied lowly.

“are you sure this is just a regular nose bleed? this is so bad. i never seen somebody bleed this hard unless they busted their ass on the sidewalk.” you comment as you take a bandage out and sticking it onto the bridge of his nose like before.

“it happens all the time, i’m fine.” he replies. “that’s part of the reason why i keep it covered up.”

choso looked down and realized that you were holding his hands now but it was only because you had been wiping the blood off of them.

“you should probably go home, right? you don’t wanna have blood everywhere and then you pass out.” you say. “that’ll be a bit embarrassing."

when choso heard your giggling to lighten up the mood, he smiled a little—it was an awkward smile. the male didn’t smile too often in public or in general. the action felt so foreign to him.

“yeah, i think i’ll go home for the night,” choso says. “and i’m sorry i didn’t call you the other night…i just got-” he stops talking, thinking of a proper word to say. choso didn’t wanna tell you the whole truth just yet. “i just got wrapped up in my head that’s all. i overthink a lot.”

“oh, no. it’s okay, i understand. i was looking forward to talking to you again but i didn’t wanna be a bother because you just seem like a busy guy. always working and taking care of your little brother.” your hands slowly release choso’s and once again, you’re making eye contact with him. you blink when you find yourself looking at his lips.

“yeah…that too-” choso mumbled, “thank you for understanding. i mean, we haven’t spoken for a week, i thought you’d be mad at me.”

“no, i’m not mad.” you said, a bit stunned that he would even think that you were angry at him. “it’s my fault, i probably should’ve checked on you sooner instead of leaving you to your thoughts.”

“i don’t really mind is okay.” choso mumbled.

“hey, how about we do that movie night tonight? i haven’t watched it by myself yet.” you offer, smiling a little.

“you aren’t gonna have that guy there with you, right?” he said quietly. you look behind you and smiled.

“nah, he’s just a friend. don’t worry about that, we’ll have our time together.” you assured. behind your reply, you were a bit surprised to hear him ask about the guy you came to the bar with. though you didn’t have any feelings towards the guy, he definitely liked you.

hence why you’re on this “date” with him….

“i’ll see you after work, then.” choso said and you nodded.

“aw, i thought you were going home.” you teased.

“i gotta feed the house,” choso replied as he began to walk towards the bathroom door. “i can’t come home empty handed.”

and with that, he exited the bathroom.

eventually, you do the same, waving to choso as he made drinks at the bar area. he’d pause for a moment to wave back at you, making you smile.

later that night, choso gets on facetime with you again with a cigarette between his lips. he had on a white shirt with a pair of basketball shorts. his hair wasn’t tied up like he had it all the time. it was down.

the two of you were watching a movie called ‘pearl’, which you suggested because you wanted to have an arsenal of movies before your night ended. you didn’t wanna just watch ‘midsommar’ and hang up.

“she fucked her momma up, not gone lie.” you comment as you watched the movie. choso was pretty immersed, eyes wide was he watched the murder of the main character’s mother.

“yeah…that’s kinda fucked up.” choso mumbled. the male threaded his fingers through his hair and took a drag from his cigarette, trying to keep himself awake.

“oh! that reminds me,” you start, pausing the movie just as the next scene began to play. “there’s a halloween party next week because you know….doesn’t that sound fun? you wanna come?”

“oh—no, i can’t. i have to work and the neighbors aren’t gonna be able to watch yuji because they’re going on a trip and they won’t be back until the second week of november…i don’t have anyone to take care of him.” choso explained, his answer prolonging as more reasons to not go to said party started to come up. you smile at his reaction.

“come on, kids his age will be there. it’s not like it’s a full on adult party. the kids’ll be upstairs and we’ll be downstairs having our fun. and you told me your boss is a chill dude, he should be fine with you calling off.”

“well—well, yeah, i guess but i don’t have a costume and i don’t go to parties. it’ll be awkward and i’ll wanna go home and—”

“choso,” you interject, “it’s okay. just stick by me and when you feel the need to, you can check on yuji. and you have time to find a costume, trust me. so…do you wanna come?”

choso put the cigarette back between his lips and sighed, rethinking all the possibilities and the pros of going to this party.

“um…yeah, sure. i’ll come.”

“good,” you smile before unpausing the movie.

There are so many brilliant active communities that you can take part in - I’ve done a roundup post here & I will update it with new communities.

If you feel creative? Got for it. Don’t worry about what people think, just share your work. Write that fic or headcanon or meta, draw that art, create that gifset, design that aesthetic piece, share that playlist. Chances are that a lot of people will enjoy your work!

Don’t feel shy about promoting your work either - tag it with #gallavich & the tags mentioned above.

Recommend what you’ve enjoyed! There is no time limit on sharing links to fic, art, headcanons, gifsets, posts of any kind…..reblog/share what you love and keep sharing it. Whether it’s brand new or years old, sharing the work is great idea.

Go back and explore things. Older fics on ao3, gifsets and art from years past, moodboards and headcanons that are years old. None of these things have an expiration date. So reblog them, share them, let people experience them for the first time and allow people to enjoy them for the 2nd/3rd/4th time.

Comment!! It’s such an important thing to do in fandom. Whether it’s on new work or old work, whether you write long comments or just a keyboard smash and emojis - it’s great way to share love to creators, to support/encourage/inspire them and to get involved in fandom. Inspired by recent interest in this blog, and for ppl newly landing on it, I made this pinned post as a welcome, a warning, and some tags I would recommend that are specific to my blog for my favorite stuff. Here's why it's called i-want-my-IWTV.

🤘 A welcome: I'm Burnadette (21+) and this blog is an unofficial Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles appreciation blog started in July 2013, but it's not an authoritative resource, I'm just collecting fanworks and other dash goodies based on my own rubric, sprinkling catnip out to the fandom, and answering asks for ppl who are curious about my opinions on things. I encourage positivity and optimism! ✨

digging up an oldie from the archive - when I need to throw an older post on the dash to share again, maybe there's a reason, or a great addition.

hello dinner - Various amusement about vampires and their dinner.

messy eater - Related to the above, it's less common (canonically) for a Ricean vampire to spill a drop of blood, so it used to be more dramatic when we'd see art/fic of spillage! There are vampires from outside VC in that tag, too, I couldn't resist reblogging them.

vampiredevelopment/interviews and rec - this is some of my favorite textmeme content 😂

memeything - y'know, memes, some are embedded in more serious posts, but I think when I first heard the word "meme" I didn't think mine really counted? So I made it "memeything" so as not to land in a "meme" tag if they didn't count, but eventually I decided that "meme" can be pretty widely defined, so mine kinda do, but by that point I was far into the habit of using my own word, so there it is.

Defending Antonio - There's periodic discussion about Antonio Banderas as Armand in the '94 IWTV movie, I love him, and I'm totally rational about it

Louis has canon hair I know that will make at least 2 ppl I know very happy - and idk if I would even reveal privately who they are but definitely not publicly! I don't want to put them on blast! 😅 I appreciate Louis with different hairstyles and I've debated about it enough that like... I can appreciate Options but some ppl would prefer to see his hair as it's described in canon 😙

Iwantmyiwtv rp - I sometimes take asks for Lestat or Louis to help inspire my fanfic. Specify who you're asking and they might respond 😎, Lestat response starts with ♛, and Louis with ♠.

vc news/vc casting - For sharing news and post casting ideas, as there are multiple adaptations and there's always fantasy casting! It never ends.

not vc/vc adjacent - I see some ppl have adopted these two! I made these out of a kind of purist approach, I wanted to reblog smtg and share it but it wasn't exactly VC, soooo, it's my acknowledgment accordingly.

VC - I may have used this in the past but I don't anymore, bc there are tons of things that could have that abbreviation, I assume, so I don't find it too be descriptive enough for use as a Vampire Chronicles tag 🤷🏼‍♀️

*You may see older posts that were written in a bubblier/sassier manner than I'd be comfortable with now, but I find those to be charming now, it's a 10+ yr old blog, after all! Our internet experience has evolved. Valentine's Comment Drive

Hello all!! Happy Valentine's Day!!

It's been a few months since Perc'ahlia Week, but given that the event was dedicated to love, we figured we could do a little something-something for the holiday - a Valentine's Comment Drive during the upcoming week for all of the works submitted for the event!!

Basically, for a week starting today, we encourage everyone to leave comments on AO3 fics, reblog/repost artwork, cosplays, and other creations, and in general take the time to dole out love you may not have had the time or spoons to give during the event itself! (Of course, you can continue to show love and appreciation after the week is over <3)

All of the works submitted that were posted to Tumblr can be found on this blog, and we're going to have them queued up to reblog again during the week so you don't have to scroll as far for the older ones.

This post is primarily aimed at people who followed me here from my main blog, @honeysuckle-venom, where I've talked a fair amount about having DID. If you don't know me from there this may not make sense, and also really isn't necessary to read. If you do know me from there it's also obviously not necessary to read, but here's the post I wanted to write about C and about where we are in recovery and about this blog

I have tried literally over ten times to write a long post explaining more about C and how she woke up from over a decade of dormancy and how she fits into our healing and what this blog is about, with no success. I just can't seem to do it. So. I'll do my best with what I can share without a thirty page backstory I'm not comfortable giving.

The very very very edited cliff notes version is that for Trauma Reasons we had to dissociate and split off a lot of our sweetest, softest, most joyful, and/or most feminine traits, all of which were very present in early childhood but not allowed to be present as we got older bc of trauma things I don't want to talk about. Those traits got split up somewhat, Eloise had some, the Dolls had some, etc, but the one who had the most/had a combination of all of that and more is C. C is also possibly the core/original, she's really really connected to who we were as a young child and who we feel we are at heart in a very special way that is distinct from everyone else, even Luna who we thought had been around the longest. C went mostly dormant when we were 11, and entirely dormant at 16. I did not know about her, not really, and to the extent I did I thought she was genuinely dead. As I've continued to heal in therapy I've noticed that I've had increasing desires to get back in touch with some of those traits that I was forced away from. Accepting Eloise, starting to accept the Dolls, and slowly realizing and acknowledging that I identified as femme were all really important steps for me. Eventually as I explored the concept of my femininity in therapy sessions, my therapist said something that ended up waking C from dormancy. That was about a year ago. With her came a huge rush of feelings and memories I'd completely lost, and a whole new capacity for joy and recovery and healing that I didn't think I'd ever have. We remembered that once upon a time, we didn't understand cruelty, we didn't want to hurt or manipulate anyone. We loved fairies and magic and flowers and art and cooking and the natural world. We loved pink and purple and sparkles and lace. We listened to birdsong, we were kind and friendly, we were gentle and warm. And we could be that way again, and take joy in it again. We realized that she is in some ways the most central part of us, and embodies a lot of who we want to be and who we feel happiest and most whole as. But she's very vulnerable, partially because she's so central and so directly tied to some very key trauma, and there was also a lot of old trauma things at play that make us very nervous to publicly talk about or show her, and/or to act in the ways that she wants and that make all of us happy, like embracing softness and femininity more. That still feels very very dangerous to us, but also every time we do it and get a positive response instead of further traumatization in respose it is deeply healing and it just feels so true to who we want to be in a way that is really healthy. So gradually we've been sharing more and more when it feels safe, and we finally reached a place where sharing the url of this blog with people from main felt like a potentially positive and healing step, where we could embrace the things C likes and that we all like publicly and try to fight some against the shame and fear we feel whenever we want to act softer or reblog pink things or what have you. It's really scary still honestly but it also just feels so validating and good to be able to be myself in this way, when for decades I tried to repress a lot of these traits as much as possible. So. Yeah. That's why we made this blog and why we finally decided to share some more about C/what she likes, because it's honestly stuff I like too and I don't want to be afraid or ashamed to wear something pink and pretty or have heart shaped kitchenware or just embrace the softest gentlest parts of myself anymore.

There's. So much more here/more to C and our backstory with this stuff but I think that's what I can share for now. But also I'd like to be able to talk more about some of this stuff, I just don't have the words yet/don't know how. So if you have any questions about this post or this blog or whatever feel free to ask. I might not answer, but I also might because it might be helpful rather than just trying to write something without a prompt

The rough pad of Wolfwood's thumb brushed over his rosary beads, his lips moving without sound as he prayed in silence. Every prayer, every call to faith was represented by each bead he passed over.

"Wolfwood~ What cha doing?"

The priest sighed, looking over his shoulder at the only other occupant in the hotel room.

Vash sat on his sorry excuse for a twin bed, watching his traveling companion with those too bright eyes. Against the muted designs of the room and linens, the blonde's color was bold and almost out of place in this space devoid of life. Another dusty room in the middle of nowhere, but it was a helluva lot better than trying to get cozy up against the least craggy of rocks.

Wolfwood, in his own twin bed, narrowed his eyes at the Humanoid Typhoon because it was very obvious what he was doing. "Why don't ya catch some shut eye before sunrise, eh Needle Noggin?" he answered instead, watching for a moment as the blonde pouted before turning back to his prayers.

He needed to start over again, it was only proper.

Shifting the beaded necklace in his hand, he grazed his thumb over the cross, committing to the Apostles' Creed, before moving up to give devotion to Our Father. The three Hail Mary's that followed were like second nature to him, and the tip of his thumb settled into the Glory Be just as a shifting to his left divided his attention.

"Wolfwood... I'm hungry~"

Nicholas turned to face his roommate, his features devoid of any kindness. "Spikey... You're a big boy, I'm sure you can manage to find a meal all on your own. I'm busy right now." His last words were pointed, not quite an accusation but certainly a warning.

Vash glowered at his friend, sulking because he wasn't given the answer he wanted. Wolfwood, who was used to dealing with children and their bratty behaviors, turned away and purposefully ignored the man who was getting on his nerves. Beginning again at the Apostles' Creed, he had barely moved up to the next prayer when he felt a tug at his sleeve.

"Wolfwood, I'm going down to get some food, do you want anything?"

"Tongari, if you interrupt me one more time, so help me God-"

The independent plant backed away, hands up in the air in a placating gesture. "Alright, alright, geez~ No need to get so grumpy..." he mumbled, sulking as he shrugged on his red coat.

The assassin sighed, finally feeling as if he was going to get some well earned peace. The tip of his thumb ran down the edges of his cross, not quite praying but just something to occupy himself as Vash bustled out of the room.

When the door clicked shut behind the older man, Wolfwood closed his eyes and bowed his head, his thumb sliding over the cross for the fourth time. "Our Father who art in Heaven, hollowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come-"

The door swung open. "Hey Wolfwood, do you- AH!"

Wolfwood grabbed his pillow and hurled it at the door with such force, that it exploded into a cloud of Toma feathers, and even left a dent in the wooden panels.

"RUDE!" Vash shouted from behind the closed door, before stomping off in a huff down the hall.

The assassin stalked over to the blonde's bed, grabbing his companion's pillow and settling back down onto his own mattress. If the plant issued a complaint about Wolfwood stealing his pillow, the priest would just have to suffocate him with it. Maybe then he could finally pray in peace.

Blue's story is a gacha series on youtube by the creator "Victation", a french animator whose mostly famous because of his character "hal" and other ocs, but has since been cooking thanks to blue's story being his first mature step into spreading awareness on such a topic,

Blue's story is about a man named "Blue" who is a S/A [his office abusers: Pink / Red / Purple] and COCSA victim [Thanks to lavender, his older sister]

The series itself is about spreading awareness on such abuse and it can be quite sensitive if you choose to watch it, the topics obviously are about s/a but other such issues like

Here you'll find the original Son of the Philosopher comic created and posted from 2009-2014. It was removed from the internet sometime before 2020 because of hosting costs and I've decided to put it up again.

This comic was rebooted once starting in 2020 but the reboot never made it past chapter 3. I've decided to default to the original, warts and old art and all, for the nostalgia. I do not plan on doing any revision work on the artwork or dialogue.

Pages will be posted Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

I may intersperse comparisons between old pages (yes, there were even OLDER versions of early chapters), official pages, and "new" pages (from the trashed reboot) as well as old concept art between page updates. I am well aware I have not been personally present on both this blog and the precious fanfictions it is dedicated in sharing with the world. But from the news of this morning, I feel I have an obligation to address it, particularly while I still have the motivation to do so. So here it is, and I will also be reblogging my older posts that relate to this topic later today.

I was gonna start off by saying this man shaped my childhood, but... I feel I'd be like lying to myself in an effort to making it sound cliche and poetic.

No no. This man (let's say his name everyone, Kazuki Takahashi) literally molded and morphed my whole fucking life. And I'm not exaggerating either. It's no mystery to those that know me in acknowledging I didn't exactly have it easy growing up. But in spite of the bullying and numerous other hardships, I always had Yu-Gi-Oh. Like I nearly ditched Pokemon and Digimon so fast because of this. As a kid this show and its card game had become a bit of an obsession and I don't think any other form of media resonated with quite like Yu-Gi-Oh did.

Like I wanted to be THAT guy. Someone who was strong and confident, who knew what they were doing and didn't spend every other waking minute in fear of what would come next. I think we all put on a sort of alter ego when going out into the world, especially when we are just trying to figure out who we are. But in that journey of putting on a different face for others to be impressed by I find eventually we look within and slowly become comfortable with our true selves. I know it took me a long fucking time to do so. And who knows maybe deep down I'm still that scared little kid not knowing what their next move will be. But I definitely owe my personal growth to the world and characters of Takahashi's imagination.

If it wasn't for the card game, I wouldn't have met a good number of the people that walked in and out of my life. If it wasn't for the show, I wouldn't have my love for mythology and the ancient world. If it wasn't for the manga, I wouldn't have become the writer that I am today. I've drawn more Yu-Gi-Oh related art probably more than any source material. My walls and shelves are filled with countless memorabilia of the very franchise that I love so dearly. It even pains me to know that I will no longer see updates to this man's social media or any new artwork. And now with a very, oh so heavy heart I address a day I didn't think would come so soon. Rest in peace Kazuki Takahashi and Thank You for the being such a phenomenal part of my life and character.

P.S. To those that own any of his Alternative Arts in card form, hold them close to your heart and preserve them, for unless Konami decides to reprint and /or release unused artwork, we may never see the likes of his masterpieces again.

We're a month from the start of Year 6 of the FFXIV Write!

Time certainly does fly.

The FFXIV Write was started by @sea-wolf-coast-to-coast on Tumblr in 2017, originally in November. A writing event for those not trying NaNoWriMo, but wanting break perfectionism, break slumps, just write and post something, get in that groove again.

In 2017 that was something I desperately needed; I had fallen out of both Roleplay and Writing, was in a creative slump. I was in a stressful life situation that was sapping my energy and confidence. So I needed something to get me writing again, and very short, rough blurbs about Dark Autumn each day opened the floodgates for me, leading to my eventually writing about a certain damn rogue and other NPCs.

The only free day in 2017 was American Thanksgiving. In 2018, Moen added a few more free/make-ups days on weekends as well as the holiday. In 2018 my life situation had changed for the better. I decided to rough out some ideas for the WoL I had created for my own ficverse, Aeryn Striker. I was still sorting her out, but the fills formed a basis for going forward and refining. I was a raffle winner that year, and that was one of the earliest, if not the first, art I got for Aeryn from @diskwrite-ffxiv.

There was a poll, and it was decided 2019 onward would be in September. Free/make-up days were on Sundays again. I think that was also when we started using the Spreadsheet, as there got to be too many entries plus Tumblr changes made it difficult to track through the tags, and this also opened up the event off of Tumblr. That was also the first year I started using the free days to keep writing. I had so many ideas, thanks to Shadowbringers and talking about OCs with friends. I started making tentative inroads on publicly posting an OC/NPC ship, something I had never done before, thanks to the support and encouragement.

Most of 2020's fills were unrelated one-offs. One of the last prompts pulled a surprise backstory idea on me, I rolled with it for the deadline, and that was it--I thought. In 2021, that oddball prompt from the year before snowballed into a good half of the fills being related to that backstory and what that meant for Aeryn (and made Thavnair in Endwalker hilarious to me).

It still kills me when I wrote things in the years before Shadowbringers and Endwalker came out and some older content was reworked, and then I compare certain little details to my writing.

I owe the FFXIV Write a lot; I've found cool stories and the people behind them, made mutuals and even friends, and got back on track with my creativity. Most of my prompt fills have ended up on Ao3; some in dedicated FFXIV Write threads, some scattered around existing themed threads or their own standalone stories. The backstory fills from 2021 I'm wrangling into an edited, cohesive (I hope) longfic. Several have been edited after the month is over, polishing up what I wasn't able to initially. Many have been left in their original rough state. Some things may even be gently retconned/reworked by now. But I've posted something nearly every day for the month for the last 5 years of this event, and hope to again for the 6th.

So to get ready for that, over the month of August 2022, I’ll be reblogging my past FFXIV Write prompt fills each afternoon, from 2017 through 2021. On the hours between 1:00pm and 5:00pm US Central Standard Time, there'll be posts. A block of time may be empty for the 5 or so free days I did take early on. There's about 145 posts (plus a couple extras and whatever I post currently) to read in varying length and quality, to cringe at and enjoy, and maybe even inspire myself as I reread, while we prepare for FFXIV Write 2022.

I see so many of your animations on YT and I have to ask. What is your favourite Star Wars game? And I mean the older ones like SWOTOR, KOTOR/II or republic commando ( my favourite )

First, thank you! That means a lot to me that you enjoy my animations so much! I should get back into making those. I do have a silly one in my drafts...

Second, oh for SURE Kotor 2. I love that game, the characters are so much fun and I love how they all interact and the exile is my baby.

If you guys don't know the story at this point, I actually played Kotor 2 for the first time and immediately played the game again because Atton died at the end since I didn't make him a Jedi. I loved the characters so much already, that when I figured out that not just Mical could become a Jedi, I was like "welp, time to dedicate a lot of time to this game!"

At the end, I started to become more attached to these characters and their story arcs. I also felt that Bao-Dur had a missed opportunity of being able to wear Jedi robes since the designers didn't want to worry about the robe clipping through his prosthetic arm, or perhaps having to worry about model discrepancies. And that's when the character sheets happened...

I made a unique character sheet for everyone, from their days in the Mandalorian Wars, to post Kotor 2 when they establish the new Jedi Order. This was back in 2021 when I completed everyone from Kotor 2, and I also had thoughts on what a few characters from Kotor 1 would be doing during this time (namely Juhani, Mission, Carth, and Bastila).

But I had no one to share this obsession of mine with.

You may have guessed it by now, but the whole reason I have a Tumblr is because of Kotor 2. And to this day, I still haven't shared all of my thoughts, story beats, headcanons, and even the full character sheets that I drew a long time ago.

This game has given me so much in terms of getting better at my art and design work, writing stories, and meeting friends I adore and want to know and hang out with for the rest of my life.

And I think it's finally time I share the rest of those character sheets with you all, so here's my Revan and Exile at least. I'll share the other ones in more reblogs on this post.

Go back and explore things. Older fics on ao3, gifsets and art from years past, moodboards and headcanons that are years old. None of these things have an expiration date. So reblog them, share them, let people experience them for the first time and allow people to enjoy them for the 2nd/3rd/4th time.

Share your ideas. Whether it’s headcanons or meta or fics or art, share it. Feel free to explore your ideas. There’s always room for discussion, analysis and creativity.

This is a very literate, semi-selective, multi-OC, and multi-fandom blog. Romance (typically OCxCC) is my bread and butter but it's not all I can do—I love fluff, angst, trauma, comfort, character analysis, and a healthy dose of dark themes. Quality over quantity is my motto, planning instead of pantsing is my way of life, and Discord is my home base! Headcanons live in my brain rent-free 90% of the day.

Wanna overthink an animated show with fictional people and their fictional-but-painfully-realistic-and-relatable struggles? I've got 13+ years of experience!

I probably could've made independent blogs for each character or each fandom, but it felt easier to keep track of by making it a collective. I think I have a relatively small handful of characters compared to other OC creators, but don't quote me, lol.
