I got more Zhongli scenarios for you to consider. This one is a modern AU scenario and involves Pokémon.

Zhongli’s lover is a Pokémon fan and her favorite Pokémon are all Dragon types. So she buys games and collects merchandise of her favorites. How do you think Zhongli would feel about seeing more Pokémon merch than Rex Lapis merch 👀

I feel he would be respectful of his lover’s hobbies but probably feel a bit insecure about the devotion to plushies is greater than to him 🥺. But to reader, Zhongli will always be the #1 dragon in her heart and in her life ❤️.

(I feel Zhongli would love Pokémon associated with Geo like Groudon and Rhyperior but also Dragon Pokémon like Rayquaza and elegant ones like Mienshao and maybe Pokémon that resembles other Genshin characters like Bombirdier (Shenhe/Xianyun) and Suicune (Ganyu))

I think he'd be super supportive of course, and I agree on the slight pang of jealousy he might feel - though he wouldn't express it for fear of coming off as too clingy. And hey, if you can't beat em, join em! Zhongli would totally ask to introduce him to the world of Pokémon, and he'd hold onto every word and commit things to memory like type advantages and different evolution methods and such.

When you're done raving, he might have a new understanding of why you're so attached to your favorite plushies! He'd buy some of his own as well~ side note: he'd be so dang good at competitive play if you're into that as well!

BIG AGREE on the last paragraph! Always saw Rayquaza (mega especially), Mienshao, Primal Groudon and also Gholdengo as very Zhongli. Ooh and imagine him seeing Pokémon similar to his friends and going "Oh that one looks like Ganyu :] and Ogerpon's masks remind me of Xiao :]"

second verse same as the first, check out part one for my guidelines on how i made the teams! short version is only 4 pokemon per team, no repeats, and little to no shinies or legendaries

fun fact the unsleeping city was actually the first season i thought of pokemon for, and why i started to make teams in the first place!

i also like unsleeping city a uhhh a lot less than fantasy high so my fantasy high picks (part 1) are a lot more thought out and maybe cooler than these picks but hey i'm still happy with these!

oh also unsleeping ch. 1 and 2 spoilers ahead of course :]

Sophia

Purugly - symbolizing La Gran Gata! also it just feels like Sophia would have this pokemon it fits her Vibe

Furfrou (Heart Trim) - she is a hair stylist!! of course she would have the hair stylized dog!!! she mainly keeps her as the heart trim but it doesnt 100 percent always stay that way

Mienshao - cool and cute monk pokemon for obvious reasons lol

Raticate - represents kugrash after he dies(?). shockingly the raticate and purugly get along well, and are actually pretty nice with each other

Ricky

Boltund - there’s no dalmatian pokemon (which there should be maybe) so this is the closest i got to representing Ox! boltunds are VERY fast though so it still works lol

Blastoise - what better pokemon to have as a fireman than a giant water tank? probably got a squirtle when he was young and it evolved as he grew up :]

Kleavor - represents the fireman ax he carried

Machamp - Ricky is all about exercise so naturally i gave him the super buff pokemon. they probably train together and like do pushups or whatever fit people do

Kingston

Dachsbun - representing both the dog he gets in season 2 along with bagels in general, which seems to be a symbol for him (see the vox populi pin)

Drampa - similar to how i imagine the dragon of bleaker’s street would look, it also just feels like an old man of a pokemon (which kingston is)

Blissey - i like to imagine doctors/nurses get blisseys once they like are hired in healthcare to help their trainers with the patients (and also blisseys are absolute TANKS in terms of defense)

Magnezone - Kingston did that cool tech shutdown/takeover thing in one of the season one battles at the stock market and i thought that was cool. and also it fits because Vibes

Misty / Rowan

Gardevoir - a beautiful pokemon that always looks youthful, just like Rowan

Primarina - a singing pokemon that wouldve helped Misty practice her singing for plays

Meloetta - same reason, a singing pokemon lol

Scream Tail - rather than a standard Jigglypuff i would like to imagine an ancient thousand year old one was much more interesting! it also ties to Rowan's reincarnation thing she has goin' on

Iga

Goodra - a dragon to represent the storybook dragon inside of the chest she has! i didn’t do charizard because i saved that one for a future season team (take a guess who)

Gimmighoul - a chest pokemon because. she. she has a chest thats very important to her. yeah!!!

Perrserker - pure vibes i just feel she would have this pokemon lol

Hatterene - also mostly vibes, she Is a psychic so it works but yeah she gets a hatterene because i say so

Kugrash

Rapidash (Galarian) - unicorn totem

Unfezant (Male) - spicy pigeon totem

Ladyba - juicy cockroach totem (i didn’t do kricketune because i want to use it for a later team. can you again guess who)

Arceus - our first true legendary! kugrash literally becomes omnipotent so you know what he can have pokemon god on his team

Aegislash (Shiny) - it’s literally The sword pokemon of course Cody would have one. it’s shiny because if he spent a long time growing his real sword collection he can spend a long time finding a shiny. also it’s black and red like Thirsting Blade Dark Excalibur Mega Genesis

Grimmsnarl - the most emo pokemon ive ever seen so of course Cody gets it. as a treat

Houndoom - “but aloe why didn’t you give this to Fig?!” shshhhshshhhh. listen my sweet child. houndoom is for the emo boys. which Cody is. and also also it parallels the other paladin on the team, Ricky, and his dog pokemon, Boltund. does that make sense….

Corviknight - emo pokemon #3 on the team. also knight means sword so in a roundabout way it’s another sword related pokemon

Polteageist - Pete has a teapot in his official art and while yes. it is blue and so is the non-shiny form i think purple in general fits Pete a LOT more than blue so here we are lol

Musharna - literally the dream pokemon this was an easy peasy pick and very obvious

Hypno - another dream-like pokemon but much more scary to maybe represent a sort of nightmare compared to the sweeter dreams from Musharna

Vivillion (Garden Pattern) - representing Luna his green butterfly familiar! i feel like everyone (including the PCs) forget Luna exists and it makes me a little sad :(

HIIIIIIWIIIII so I have only thought about them in detail for MMJ so far but I do have possible choices for the other units,,,

First of all. The mythical I would assign as "patrons" for the unit leaders !!!

Ichika -> Jirachi

Minori -> Shaymin (I'm especially normal about this one)

Kohane -> Victini

Tsukasa -> Keldeo (Keldeo is Tsukasa as a horsey and you cannot convince me otherwise)

Kanade -> Meloetta

now, MMJ's Pokemon partner assignments (I did three per character, just because I like it that way and I also think they'd each train more than one Pokemon each);

Minori -> Oshawott (I'm not sure if she chooses to evolve Oshawott yet, maybe Minori and Oshawott make that decision together in parallel with the events of step by step? That'd be cool), Pawmot, Jumpluff

Haruka -> Lanturn, Empoleon, Kirlia (I'm not sure if she chooses to evolve Kirlia yet, but I think Kirlia would at least show Haruka the desire to evolve after the events of Painful Hope)

Airi -> Delcatty, Nidoking, Mienfoo (starts showing the desire to evolve during Happy Lovely Everyday, actually evolves into Mienshao after Retie Friendship)

Shizuku -> Altaria, Milotic, Goomy (evolves to Sliggoo after My Color and into Goodra right after Unraveled Threads)

Mikey - fire and/or fairy

Donnie - ghost steel

Leo - flying or fairy. DEFINITELY leaning towards fairy for his affinity for magic

Raph - ground, rock , and or fighting. He gives me 1 type vibes, but if he has double types he'd be ground or rock combined with fighting

These are great takes. Also thanks @ everyone who immediately flooded the replies of this post with pokemon types lmao it delighted me. I'll put all my thoughts and feelings and my personal Pokemon typings opinions below the cut coz it's a little long lmao.

Lots of advocates for Fighting Types for literally all of them, ofc, and while it's tempting for e to give them all Fighting I tried to limit this so we can have more variety, just for funsies.

For Donnie I think I like,,, Electric/Dragon or Steel/Dragon the best, though I also really like Ghost. Lots of Steel/Electric/Psychic as well for him in the responses, but giving him a Dragon type feels really funny to me. I didn't consider it at first but I actually like it a lot. Also my roommate was a huge advocate for Dragon Type and his word carries extra weight coz I like him.

For Raph I think I like Fighting/Ground. (I like the idea of him being a 'grounding force' for the group, leader/heart/most common sense?) Lots of Fighting/Ground/Rock advocates for him in replies, also a few Fairies (<3) or Dragons.

For Mikey I originally really liked Fairy for him, but I actually really like Psychic for him coz mystic warrior, duhhh, so I think Psychic/Fire. (Also this way I can give Fairy to Leo lol.) Most y'all also said Psychic/Fire, we're all pretty much on the same page with him lmao.

Leo I do gotta give him Fairy coz, like, c'mon, and also SOOO many of you like Fairy for him. I'm tempted to also give him Electric or Flying, which I saw a lot of (the temptation to make him and Donnie both Electric coz twins, coz I'm basic) but I also heard Dark which I actually? Really like? So maybe Fairy/Dark. Lots of advocates for Water type as well with him.

Poison/Fighting is great for April! I also like Fighting/Psychic? Maybe single Fighting until she gets Karai'd and then she gains the Psychic type???

For Casey I saw Dark/Fighting which I very much like, though I'm also tempted to give her just Dark (I think we could justify giving absolutely everyone the Fighting Type so I'm trying to shy away from doing it too much lmao) or even the Normal Type because I feel like she spends so much of the series being underestimated and underutilized when she's actually? So very capable and versatile and cool. People sleep on Normal Types a lot but there are plenty of super badass Normal Types.

For Splinter I like Fighting/Ghost a lot. Fighting because duh, Ghost as a nod to his ancestors/destiny/family history, and also his #hauntedpast. I think it's a good look for him.

I saw Steel Type for Casey Jr, which I like, though I feel tempted to give him Steel/Normal to match with his Mama as a nod to her.

Big Mama can absolutely be Bug/Dragon I like that (though I also heard Bug/Poison or Bug/Fairy, which is also fun.)

As far as Pokemon teams-- I've thought of this, too! These are the teams I think I'd give the gang:

RAPH: Beartic, Krookodile, Darumaka, Stufful, Mimikyu, and Hawlucha.

MIKEY: Ponyta (Galarian), Monferno, Smeargle, Braixen, Tatsugiri, and Ninjask

LEO: Lucario, Mienshao, Frogadier, Sylveon, Ceruledge, and Mawile

DONNIE: Metagross, Mismagius, Porygon-Z, Rotom, Noivern, and Tinkaton

APRIL: Eevee, Chingling, Marowak, Vulpix, Axew, and Talonflame

SPLINTER: Hariyama, Roserade, Wigglytuff, Togetic, Snorlax, and Goldeen

For the sake of this, I'm only going to be going with two options of what I believe their signature Pokémon would be, since a full team would be pretty repetitive and I always think signature Pokémon are just more interesting. And since a lot of these choices are pretty obvious, I will only go into detail with the ones I think are worth mentioning.

-I only picked out Tsareena for Mineta since it's the only interesting berry Pokémon. There is no other reason. -Yes, I exclusively picked Pokémon with either Tough Skin or Sturdy for Kirishima. It was just too perfect. -I know Greninja is sitting right there, but I think the cute look and color scheme of Politoad fit Tsuyu better. -Hagakure's choices are just based around them being fun, trickster Pokémon, which fits her character. -Pretty much of the sound focused Pokémon would fit Jiro. It's just that I think Noivern is the coolest one and fits her -You might be asking which regional version of the Pokémon Shoto has for his signature. The answer is yes. -Koda was really hard to cover for this since technically every Pokémon fit him, hence why I went with Ditto. -And since I picked Ditto for him, I decided to go with Steelix for Momo since that's used a lot in creating and smelting metals.

A list of all the pokemon my younger brother named after me while playing his first Pokemon game, White, ranked in order of how baffled I am while wondering where he got the idea to do so from:

Petilil (It's a grass-type, and I made grass-types my entire identity when I was a kid. It's an early route pokemon and he probably wanted to have a pokemon named after me because I named a lillipup after him. This checks out.)

Lilligant (A separate pokemon from the Petilil— same reasoning as above, but possibly even more clear because I used to dress up in big poofy costume skirts when I was younger.)

Venipede (I represented myself as a Scolipede for a while there in drawings, so this, too, is sensible of a connection.)

Mienshao (orange and purple were my THING for a while there. I see the reasoning, if not any similarities in vibes between me and Mienshao.)

Altaria (Not gonna lie, I think he probably only named this one after me because I talked about liking Altaria a couple times. Other than that, I don't know why he'd feel inclined to name it that.)

Volcarona (Um... Maybe because I'd catch woolly bear caterpillars as a kid and try to raise them into their adult tiger moth forms? I'm drawing a blank, guys.)

Tynamo (Why? What was going through his head when he named this electric eel? What was his thought process? What made him think of me??)

More mgs pokemon au!! Post solely dedicated to Meryl this time bcs I love her. I love her so much that I realized I drew her bangs to the wrong side when I had already lined it. Agony. Anyways. Feeling inspired to share some of the Pokemon decisions for this au! More under the cut

Starting off with her Flareon, a nod to her being rlly inspired by Foxhound,, it's kind of a fox! And Eevee is a pokemon that would fit her, I imagine her evolving it into a Flareon just for this mission,, a bit of a rookie move as I imagine it has mostly normal type attacks still

Then Nidorina and Mienshao which were mostly based off vibes! Both very determined and proud pokemon in their own regard, and both nodding to her actual training in combat! In retrospect I'd give her a Mienfoo to reflect her youngness compared to the rest, but Nidorina fits her quite well if I say so myself!! Fierce, but still prefers to not get violent if it can help it, plus a somewhat early route pokemon that evolves early

Edit: Changing Mienfoo for Lopunny!! Pretty but packs a mean kick, and I feel she'd look cool with a Lopunny at her side. Her strongest perhaps, and a friendship based evolution of a pokemon that's hard to befriend,, much like her at first!

And. Somewhere she has an Marill. Bcs of course,, or maybe Campbell has one who knows but yeah that's it for now!!

Clementine passes a glance to the the anonymous individual with a relaxed smile. "And yes, I admit, those megastones of hers are a bit concerning. But thankfully our first encounter went well, so I'm hoping I can make a good impression on her and continue my duties without a hitch."

Viva as a Pokémon Trainer and her team.

Banette (Mega Stone), Ghost

Pachirisu (Shiny), Electric

Wigglytuff, Normal, Fairy

Torterra, Grass, Ground

Swanna, Water, Flying

Vanilluxe, Ice

There were only about two swaps I did for Viva's team. It was going to be sandslash at first to parallel Poppy's alolan sandslash. But I decided that wasn't important. Plus I wanted her to have a larger heavy hitting Pokémon and maybe an extra type to boot. So torterra seemed like a good choice. Able to camouflage in the ground and is a good defense partner. Instead of vanilluxe it was originally gonna be mienshao. Since Viva lives in an ice cream cone hole, vanilluxe seemed like good inspiration. Also decided to throw in her pachirisu being a shiny. I try to give anyone either a dragon-type or a mega evolving partner. Banette was an ideal choice. Like Viva wouldn't bond with a Pokémon who came to be after being abandoned. I like designing each troll a new outfit. She has a so-called golf bag with her pokéballs in it and her Banette’s banettite is in a golf glove.

My very first attempt at Viva. Since she’s identical to Poppy it wasn’t so hard with her face or body. But her hair was a pain.

A mienshao who is more often seen walking on all fours than on their hind legs! Usually crouching low to the ground to sneak up on others! For pranks of course, nothing TOO sinister. I know the star markings on the back were darker BUT they will be sparkly and glowy here. Why? Because I enjoy things that glow!! Probably a very kind soul but just prefers the darkness. So most assume they are a weird individual but the light just hurts their eyes too much. Would make sure you got home safe at night kinda vibes

Also probably trips in their arm ribbons constantly. You silly ermine! You're supposed to be walking on your hind legs not all fours!!
