the lucifer comics really just. they just. canonically SAID. that lucifer morningstar is the biggest/strongest source for the emotion of fear in the universe. and that mazikeen is the biggest/strongest source of love in the universe.

The bond with John is one of the strongest, since he's Tierney's older brother. John has always been very protective of his younger sibling, shielding them from the dangers of the world, but also being honest with them about what's out there. He's not the type to lie and baby his sibling. Tierney loves John more than just about anything. They really look up to him and respect him, but they aren't afraid to call him out on his bs. John taught them everything they know about magic.

Over time, Tierney developed the ability to talk to and interact with the dead. This got them on Death's radar, through whom they met Desire. Tierney was never completely immune to Desire's charm, but they could see it for what it was, so they didn't fall for it. They formed a more genuine bond with Desire, as the two talked about their frustrations with the concept of a gender binary, among other things.

The thing with Mazikeen is that I never transferred her over from my old main s/i, Cai, to Tierney, so she's kind of separate from my other Vertigo f/os. Cai is half demon and has know Maze for centuries. The two shared an on-and-off type of flirtationship for the longest time. Cai is very emotional and sensitive, where as Maze tends to bottle up her feelings and avoid emotional intimacy, so there was a lot of tension between them at first. Eventually Cai was able to wear Mazikeen down to accepting their love.

I feel like this is a stupid question, ignore it if it is but is there a reason behind not recasting Tom and Lesley-Ann as Lucifer and Mazikeen for Sandman?

Is it simply because you couldn't get them in time, They were busy, or something else?

I like Gwendoline and Cassie, Gwendoline is iconic for the game scene, but I'm on season 3 of Lucifer and found out that the characters are actually from Vertigo (I'm new to the Gaimanverse) and was wondering about the change of actors. Hopefully this doesn't come off as rude, but I'm genuinely curious.

Would you have been scared of Tom's Lucifer, or worried that he would destroy Dream? I wouldn't. I love Tom's Lucifer in Lucifer but for the Sandman adaptation I wanted something closer in look and feel to the original comics.

Is the Lucifer show worth watching?

this entirely depends on your perspective. i watched it, and while it is somewhat enjoyable ( until the last season. imo that season kinda sucked ), it is not at all comic book accurate. i get their take on a lucifer, but it is not vertigo lucifer if that’s what you’re searching for. like i didn’t even know that was their goal. i thought it was just something silly and fun for our entertainment.

you see mazikeen, sure, but it’s not mazikeen if that makes sense ( no hate to her in the show though i’m in love with her ). chloe was never a character. they don’t handle the same topics. the character arcs are different. it’s,,, very different.

still a fun show, somewhat, but not comic book accurate whatsoever. up to you, though!
