Well hello there...
This is the introduction of the delightful world We have crafted for you all! Hello and welcome!
As stated by the blog description, this blog is actually an interactive life series story! What this means is that you, the reader, will get to decide all the player's fates in a series of polls.
But what game will the players be playing, you ask? Well, allow me to introduce...
"Which Life?"
Quite unlike all the other life games, "Which Life?" has a premise that shakes the life series down to its very core: nobody knows what life they're on. Not the players, and not you, dear reader! Death messages are also disabled, and the tablist doesn't show if someone's a spectator (ghost) or not.
On top of that, there will be a life-trading system like Last Life, and special occurrences that happen every time a player makes a kill.
Interesting, right? (We certainly hope so)
Anyways, there are going to be 17 players total, are they are as followed:
Grian
Scar
Scott
Jimmy
Bigb
Tango
Martyn
Ren
Impulse
Cleo
Bdubs
Skizz
Joel
Etho
Pearl
Mumbo
Lizzie
And as this post is being typed, these 17 players have already their number of initial lives chosen.
Oh, wait, you didn't know? An honest mistake, sorry: Everyone starts with a randomized number of lives. It could be as low as 2 or as high as 5, but nobody knows how many lives anyone has except for the three Watchers pulling the strings behind the scenes of this game (who will be introduced later, in a separate post)
Now, in order for this fic to work, there will have to be people voting in the upcoming polls. Your answers will be incorporated into the futures of these players. If nobody votes, then you will change nothing.
That being said, the Watchers are begging for people interested in this premise to reblog this post, so that more people can see it and follow it as they please. They want to show everyone a spectacle, but that can't happen if nobody has their eyes open.
So, what do you say?
(P.S. official release date is currently unknown as things are still being ironed out, this post is mainly to spread awareness and hopefully hype)

Stop putting thick thread in your freaking sewing machine.
If you have a home machine, it's not ready for it. If you have a drop in bobbin, it's really not ready for it. If it's bonded nylon then it's SUPER not ready for it.
Your Viking Emerald 118 is not a commercial machine. It's got a powerful engine, but it does not have a mechanical system that can handle the thickness and inflexibility of heavy weight thread. You're going to yank it out of time and that's not a warranty issue because the warranty doesn't cover you breaking it yourself with bad thread. The warranty also doesn't cover you trying to sew through a sterilite bin lid or getting sliced ham in your feed teeth, despite the warranty not specifically saying that you can't do that. It's not unreasonable for a machine to expect you to check your supplies for compatibility before using them.
If you want to sew with really heavy thread, you need a machine set up for that thread. This is like how if you want to put diesel in your car, you need a diesel engine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You need a different threading set up for heavy thread, and you need the kind of bobbin case that can handle it as well. This is the Janome HD9 Professional, which is a home sewing machine that can sew with thick thread. You can see that the thread has to be wound in a different way to use the thick thread. If your machine doesn't have this, it probably shouldn't be using tex70. And by "probably," I mean "definitely."
The Janome HD9 is a sort of semi-commercial machine, where you sacrifice a bit of foot clearance, a bit of thread thickness, and some bobbin size in exchange for getting a machine that fits on your table top.
If you only want to work on thick thread, you probably need a commercial machine.
Quick flow chart on how people buy commercial sewing machines:
Step 1) Be aware that you're buying a piece of furniture. The table is part of the machine.
Step 2) What kind of foot do you want? If you're getting a machine for sewing, you need to pick if you want a straight stitch foot or a walking foot. On commercial machines, the walking foot is built into the machine, and a walking foot machine cannot be made to not walk. However, walking foot machines are a lot better than a walking foot attachment for a home machine.
Step 3) How thick are you going to put in it. Please note that I don't mean thick in how difficult it is for the machine to penetrate. The motor is a different part of the machine from the head, and you can stick a more powerful motor in there if you want. What we're talking about is how high of clearance the presser foot can give you. If you've sewn with really thick fabric on a home machine, you might have run into a situation where your fabric is so thick that it physically pushes the presser foot up so high that your tension disengages. All machines can do the same thing, so check on your machine that the physical dimensions of what you want to put in will fit under the foot.
Step 4) How thick of thread are you going to put into that thing? Tex90? Tex 180? You might need a lighter weight thread if you're making bags or clothing, but if you want that big, chunky decorative stitching you see on car upholstery, you need a machine that can handle that thread.
So, as you can see, dear home machine owners, people will buy commercial machines specifically to run heavy thread in them. If you want to run thick thread, you have two options.
The first option is to get the right tool for the job. Commercial machines aren't anywhere near as pricey as high end home machines. If you come to me and say that the only thing you want to sew is heavy thread, you're going to do better to get a Juki DDL8700 than to buy a new Emerald 118 every year when you run yours into the ground. You're only really paying about 2.5x the cost of an Emerald when you get the Juki with a full set up, and that's not bad when you take into account that you are going to be either servicing or replacing your 118 pretty frequently if you're still sticking that thread in it.
The second option is to get an old and broken sad fuck of a machine and mess up all the tensions yourself. Hang around junk shops long enough and someone's going to get rid of some kind of 1910's cast iron monstrosity that was converted to electric in the 1930's by someone who may have had no idea what they were doing. Get yourself something that you're mildly afraid of. If that maching has survived from 1914 to 2024, you're probably not going to break it by messing around with the stitch tension. If the head of the machine was made before we were capable of precision manufacturing thin, strong thread, it can probably adapt to the nightmare that is Coats Outdoor Upholstery thread or whatever that thread thing you bought on Amazon is.
Anyway, you're not going to buy the As Seen on TV Keyboard Vacuum and try to vacuum the front office of a dirt and rock emporium and then get upset when it doesn't work. Not every vacuum is interchangeable and not every sewing machine can handle carpet thread. Not every bad decision you make is covered by your warranty. Sometimes you break things and then it's your problem to fix it.
Thank you for coming to my TexX talk.

Do they wear a watch? (NPMD)
Richie: Obviously we're starting with him, and yes, he does wear a watch. He used to have a sailor moon watch, a Pokémon watch, a few more anime, but now he just has a black and blue, waterproof digital watch, since those ones were too fragile (ie, people kept breaking them)
Ruth: She has a watch but it's broken. She wears it every day and constantly forgets it's broken.
Pete: Absolutely he does. He has a waterproof analog watch that he has to stare at for at least 30 seconds to read, but he does have it.
Steph: She doesn't have a watch, but she will yank Pete's wrist to read his.
Grace: She generally doesn't wear a watch, but she does wear one to church so that she doesn't have to pull her phone to check the time.
Max: No, but he for some reason keeps looking at his wrist as if he does. Like, he'll pull up his sleeve and everything, and then realise he doesn't wear a watch and has to pull his phone.
Shapiro: She absolutely wears a watch. No explanation needed.
Bailey: He used to wear a watch, but the strap broke after a rough kerfuffle.
Jason: He wants one but forgets to buy one
Kyle: He thinks watches are stupid
Brenda: She has a smart watch
Stacy: She thinks watches are ugly
Solomon: He wears a watch, and so does Miss Tesburger. They make sure they're synced up every week.

Chapter 622
#naruto#madara#madara uchiha#uchiha madara#hashirama flashback#+ hashirama#[FBI looking through my laptop voice] why the fuck have you been looking at this and crying for the past 3 hours#Also fun fact: I used to not really like the language of ''revealing your guts'' I felt it was just very ugly and un-poetic phrasing#But I've come to appreciate it in the sense that it conveys a pretty thorough idea of vulnerability that reveals a lot of how Madara#perceives it.#His phrasing of revealing vulnerability is incredibly visual; people quite literally opening themselves up for him to see. Related is how#his greatest discomfort is people standing behind him. You know. where he can't see them.#Also most Uchiha characters having common motif threads related to their eyes.#In Madara's case they're tied specifically to how he'd like to have full awareness and understanding of what's around him; and by extension#he'd like to have a measure of influence over them.#Something standing where he can't see it though he knows it's there is the most vulnerable position he can imagine himself in.#In multiple different ways! In this particular panel it's mostly related to trust and emotional vulnerability.#Which is a very fun character trait to have when you grow up in the conceiling yourself and backstabbing profession#And you are also very fatalistic and under the impression that people just can't change#you WOULD think the only solution would be if everyone could just magically rip themselves open

I think one aspect to measure a ship's rarepairness is it's popularity when compared to crackships. If it's more popular than generic crackship 254 then it's probably not a rareepair but if more people will know the crackship than the alternative serious and maybe even well thought out ship between two characters then it is probably most probably a rareepair
i wasnt rly talking about differences between rarepair and crackship but more "what makes a ship popular" in general
imo the difference between crackship and rarepair is the amount of canon content 🤔 crackships don't need a base at all but rarepairs usually have one. if it's "these two characters who haven't talked much would be interesting together" then it's a crackship (what makes a ship rare is a bit harder to measure and each case it's exclusive because you have to take a lot of factors into account). But. i don't think they're mutually exclusive things it's more like. all (or almost all) crackships are rarepairs but not all rarepairs are crackships. for example i'd say rinne/shu is somewhat a crackship? it doesn't have much canon content afaik. meanwhile mitsu/haji, who are both in the same unit and have had several 5*+4* events together, are more of a rarepair: neither are each other's most popular ship, or even second most-popular. but also rinne/shu have 80 fics on ao3 (which is more than some def not rare ships) and mitsu/haji have 11. of course character popularity plays a huge part here (big part of why i said its hard to measure how rare a ship is) (did u guys know kaname has more fics than mitsuru) but my point is.
Tumblr media
you could place mitsu//haji in rare, rinne//shu in crack and (spins roulette) haji//shu in both and it all quite checks out

Interaction with housemate I was cooking for:
Me: What's your spice tolerance? Because I cook very spicy for myself but I can tone it down for others
Him: However you cook for yourself is fine.
Later, while cooking
Me: Do you want to taste this and tell me if you want me to add cream?
Him: No, I'm sure it's fine
Me: OK, but just to double check
Him: I trust you
Me: It's not about trust, I don't know your preferences
Him: Ok, I'll try
Him: .....add cream
Not to say I told you so. But. There's a reason I kept asking!

A TikTok has made me realize just now that if you’ve read The Red Thread all the way through, you’ve basically read IT by Stephen King twice. So yeah. Do with that information what you will

@spiderwarden sent: The High Priestess balanced the little one against her shoulder with the tuck of an arm and the careful hold of a hand against the infant's back. The little one was consistently brought to witness the family rituals and councils - the earliest of exposures to her heritage would produce a more effective noble raising. However the child in question, watched with those wide red eyes the being that stood next to them. A long and curious stare of the tentacles, of their eyes, and the shape of the head. She's never seen one quite like this, and so a small hand untangles from the white hair of her mother's to reach out to touch of the squirreling things hanging from it's face. Drawn completely in by their movement. Cheek lifting from her mother's shoulder when a simple move of the hand toward Methil required more effort. Sos'umptu Baenre shifted to watch, allowing her Little Rune to reach with a small tsking noise but not refuting the infants curiosity as Minthara reaches to tangle her hand in her Grandmother's Advisor. (not me remembering Yvonnel would still actually be alive at this time too. hi. I just wanted to send a prompt.)
Tumblr media
RELIGIOUS CEREMONIES are strictly in the realm of not to be given effort unless directly asked; what the drow consider worship, the Illithid -- Methil in particular -- consider a waste of resources. How much further could their city have grown without the incessant insistence upon offering up lives to a fickle goddess whose rewards were.... What, exactly? Chaos? Needless lines drawn in the sand where usefulness to the whole worked far better? Ah, and one certainly couldn't forget their paltry little magics, either. Those very same that need to be shouted with the casting for them to work, and are, more often than not, conquered without sweat by the psionically gifted. Quite the boon.... But, these thoughts are kept neatly in the slow, mindless coiling and swaying of Methil's tentacles. Yvonnel and him had an understanding, and that would do quite nicely.
There are, however, plenty of things to be gleaned from those who expect equally bended knee, and not the shadows of danger circling from above, just out of sight. This one seeks ambition above her station -- but hardly has the wit or tenacity to see it through. ( Perhaps, in time, a tool to be utilized. If not... Then a dash of terror makes for quite the delicious meal. ) That one thinks their gazes and straying thoughts do not belie their dividing loyalties, but if Lolth herself has yet to notice, then let it be the better of two manipulators who strikes their kill first.
In contrast, drow infants are of no consequence. The skulls are soft, but the minds not yet developed enough to have use. It's odd, how helpless their young are when they come into the world -- but they do possess one factor that one must be vigilant over, for the reckless shall have their tenacles pulled. Likely, without any regard for the sensitivity of the limbs or their necessity for life. This movement alone draws Methil's measured gaze off the masses, and to the tiny hand reaching towards its face. All the same..... There is still consideration for the other possibility: some children appear to have a more tempered grip than their counterparts, and may yet grow into a more superior functionality if given enough early clemency. Stillness, therefore, remains over the flayer's person; it neither leans from grasping fingers nor reaches to push them away. Curiosity can be, after all, one of a child's better qualities.
