Well good evening Medic Anon- or good morning, since it is 2 am at the moment..

(Apologies if I understood crossfaction wrong because I almost forgot what it means, so if I did get it wrong please tell me!)

I have extreme mixed feelings about crossfaction speedingbullet

Because theres this one side where I fuckin' love it, I specifically really love RED Sniper with BLU Scout, and they would put up this little act where they would hate each other but once their alone on the field they'll be all over each other, and they would hide their love by hanging out in the middle of the night, try to talk in between rounds, and just escape the job for a while

THEN there's the other side with the ANGST

Though these two love each other, if any of the teams OR the Administrator finds out their together while being in the opposite team could cause so. Much. ANGST.

The feeling of being watched, to be snitched out, both teams hating each other to the bone and swearing on their lives to never befriend the other team. Having to say words that crush them both to their core, knowing it was all an act because they didn't have any other choice.

Just- There's literally endless possibilities that leads me to not have a solid opinion on it with how much it could contain. But I will say that I love it alot with just how much people could do with it in any way.

There genuinely were some doctors who thought riding in trains would cause uterine prolapse [uterus falling out], when trains were new. The concern was that the vibrations from travelling so fast would break the fibers connecting the uterus to the abdominal wall. Unsurprisingly, this did not stop women from riding in trains. Because fuck that noise- trains!!!

One time in the 1840s a bunch of doctors shellacked live horses and rabbits and concluded, when the animals died (probably from heat exhaustion after being unable to sweat), that they had suffocated and that mammals breathed partially through our skin.

Some beauty manuals of the era may have created accidental sunscreen. Occasionally you see advice to wear cold cream on your face when going out, to prevent sunburn. This probably mostly didn't work- but some cold cream recipes contained zinc oxide for a "white foundation" effect, due to beauty standards favoring very light skin, which may have created a low-level SPF. Other manuals also advocate sealing the cold cream in with powder...which even more frequently involved zinc oxide.

A dentist may have gotten away with a malpractice death by blaming tightlacing. A 23-year-old maid named Annie Budden, of Preston, England, went to have a tooth pulled in January of 1895 and suffocated after the procedure, during which she had been dosed with nitrous oxide. The dentist said she was tightlaced and therefore the coroner ruled that he was not at fault- however said dentist claimed that her natural waist was 23" and her corset measured 18". Presumably that's the closed measurement, and corsets were commonly worn with at least a 2" lacing gap at the time (one corset ad I've seen mentions that women liked to give the theoretical closed measurement of their corset as their waist measurement, to make it sound smaller, while actually wearing it with the customary gap). Ergo, she was only laced down about 2-3 inches, a difference unlikely to cause asphyxiation. The fact that she worked as a maid similarly calls the assessment into question- how could she have successfully done physical labor while laced down in a way that diminished her lung capacity so much? Her employer vouched for her good character and excessive tightlacing was seen as vanity- and would have been noticed by making Miss Budden look out-of-proportion physically. That doesn't add up either, to me. The dentist went on to become mayor of the town where this all happened.

That thing above started as a fun fact about the only credible death due to tightlacing and then I looked into it more and now I'm just mad.

i wish i could just dump all my thoughts about the teams and their traits/relationships/personalities at once but it’d be way too dense for one post. i think about these guys a Lot. so for the purpose of this ask i’ve compiled some more select crumbs! starting with a few characters whose nationalities & ethnicities i’ve updated since my last ref sheet post:

scouts and spies! i like to think that depending on which side you look at, you’ll find that they have veeery different relationships with each other, which impacts how they work together (well vs. hmm. not very well at all)

the blu and red scouts have diverging skills, too- blu scout is a lot stealthier, having learned from his dad, while red scout is a harder hitter. i REALLY want to talk about the scouts’ mothers too but that would be a whole dedicated post of its own!!

+ accompanying colored doodles to the above things. i love drawing these three characters in particular

and probably my favorite thing to explore whenever i think about the two teams: their relationships with and impressions of each other, varied by factors like their personalities, circumstances, what happens to them on and off duty, etc.

take these few classes on each side, for instance:

generally speaking, all three of them on either team work well together, but certain unique factors at play have driven some of them closer or given them ranged opinions on each other. red medic and demo are BFFs, whereas blu medic/demo aren’t quite past the “friends of a friend/awkward colleagues” social barrier. blu pyro and demo are even closer, while their red versions hold each other at a friendly arm’s length with no hard feelings involved.

of course, there are some much more polarized team differences to be seen in some of the other classes’ relationships with each other (see above: scouts and spies) but i thought an example like the one above with more subtleties (?) between characters illustrated what i’m talking about better.

(bear in mind that i see the mercs and their counterparts as separate and independent people, completely unrelated but uncannily similar in appearance. they’ve all questioned it before themselves, but honestly? not even the administrator knows what causes the phenomenon where she keeps hiring doppelgängers. sometimes things ARE pure coincidence and that makes it funnier)

what would you like a doctor or mad scientist to do to you?

Oh so much...

I want to be laid down and examined. Having someone's cold, gloved hand running across my body, checking my vitals, making sure they know everything about me, and how my body works. I will say though, my thoughts between doctor and mad scientist are slightly different...

When it comes to a doctor, I want to be a patient. I want them to take care of me and make sure I'm nice and healthy. Even if they have to be kind of mean to me, overall, they are still gentle and kind and praising me. Telling me I'm such a good boy as I take my treatment. A doctor would tell me that I'm just a stupid little dog, and to help cure me, I need him to breed me until my brain starts working again. Of course, it's his legal obligation to keep trying until I'm all better, even if it takes days.

A mad scientist, however, I want to be a test subject. I want them to treat me like I'm nothing more than an object to experiment on. They don't care about how much pleasure or pain I'm in, they only care about getting results. I want them to degrade because I'm too stupid to understand their vision. I want to be tied down while they force orgasm after orgasm out of me, testing to see how much my body can take before I'm nothing more than a brain dead husk. Or even experimenting on me and seeing how long it takes them to fully turn me into their 24/7 fuck puppy, who just craves their cock...

It gets even hotter when they force masc me... can you tell I think about this a lot?
