also remembered that that character (katrine/caia) always has a sister uninvolved in the family's career military history

remembering she had to mourn her elder sister who just Disappeared for two years, and would have spent even longer knowing shepard isn't alive bc their alliance mom probably can't just tell a civillian doctor,

oh and meet another OC: lily/iliad (fae/faer, has two names)! fae's the God/Guardian of the Arts in Fabrication (so art, music, writing, dance, and drama). faer design is my fav so far if i'm being honest haha, really like how it came out :D

When your OCs are nervous to meet each other's parents/family for the same fear (what if they hate me?) but for opposite reasons

Thinking about the relationship between my character and a character who hasn’t even been Introduced yet and won’t be for a long ass time/possibly ever they just make me mentally Ill

#that moment when the kid you lost comes back and they’re deeply traumatized and you relize that if you hadn’t been a coward and gone after #them you could have prevented all of that trauma but you didn’t and just hoped for the best and the kid doesn’t even Resent you for it #ryders rambles #sorry #oc #ocs #that moment when you see that kid happy with their found family and wish more then anything you could be that close #(technically he is your late apprentices (who you raised so basically your kid)’s kid who you where the god father of but shit happened #but he reminds you sometimes of your late apprentice and you feel bad bc he is his own person and has fought so hard for that #they make me mentally ill #that moment when u meet the family u could have had from the beginning if things had gone differently #and one of them still cares about you but it feels unearned because you aren’t the same person as your dad who was their apprentice and you #can’t and don’t want to replace him to him #and your hiding the worst of it from him because the last thing you want is to make him feel worse for the circumstances #tag infodump #ramble tags

I like how my favorite rpg romance experiences I've had are ones where it doesn't work out mid-game or post-game tbh.

#idk what it says about me it's not a rule....#but realistically like. you have a protagonist in this game. and these are highly charged scenarios where people are meeting. and yes likely #connecting deeper than they ever would otherwise--#but also typically at the end of that game... theyre losing that scenario... they're losing the everyday immediacy of whatever social #network or resources...#is your protagonist able to just move on and disconnect from that role... from that purpose?#if they cant... does their partner want to move on and live a life together... can your protagonist accept living a life #when potentially the consequences of their actions or when Something May Return?#If they can settle down at the end of their journey #are they the same person who romanced that partner? are they still compatible? Will that lack of immediate shared purpose make the #connection fizzle out without a common motivator at the level of Save The World or whatever?#And even if your retired protagonist is Actually Retiring and accepting the end of that role or purpose...#is their partner settling down? anyway.#i love my initial failed Lae romance playthrough of devastation with Fe aha #and i also loved my failed Josie romance. in both iterations of that character #anD i love my fucked up failed Liara romance especially with my main Shep.#having connections fizzle out or conflict you cant resolve through communication within the confines of the game is interesting #anyway. thanks for enduring my tag rant 💜#like some of my characters are happy ever after sure... but its more interesting and cathartic to have breakups and failure to communicate #idk about everyone. but for instance the fact that the Josie romance hinges on a public declaration of love... are you telling me every #person who romanced Josie handled that naturally?? couldn't be my OC who overthinks and thought it was circumstantially inappropriate

#haunted ecosystem #i'll take a burst of creativity in a different form than usual than the burnout slump i've been in for a few months #<- part of why my fandom stuff has taken a smidge of a backseat #dont get me wrong i am still very excited about my fandoms im just having fun off in oc hell (affectionate)#its nice to just be able to create and not really worry about perception. and also i feel Less bad about just throwing ocs into the wringer #((blame the fact i've been REALLY interested in whump recently and i have been. fixated. on one of my characters.))#and ALSO i've been! rekindling my flame for wtds. i've been putting off thinking about it since that fic got.#nothing bad happened? but it was still very devastating that somebody who i considered a friend from that fic just. evaporated.#but i'm gonna finish that fic for him :) even if it takes a year. even if it's the one thing i finish ever. it'll be wtds.#for where its gotten me and the fact its what got me out of my shell and is the reason i trust that my writing is good!#i used to really hate rereading my work. i catch flaws that are obvious to me. but that fic. i just think about how *good* the story is #that story means. a lot to me? as a person? like the main character is not a good person. but people care about him anyway.#and there are so many little things. so many sentiments. so much that is a love letter to people who've done bad but learnt to do better #because. god knows i wasnt a good person even just a few years ago. and maybe i see myself in him a bit.#he came from a place of paranoia and fear and pain. and maybe its a good thing that i've found it difficult to write him recently.#because god. i've been HAPPY. even with the rough moments and bad days. i've been happy. i mean fuck.#my birthday's what. ten days away? god damn man. i'm going to be 18. that's an achievement.#i want to look the kid who thought it was over at half my age and tell him we fucking made it. and there are more years to come.#there's a life ahead. even if it's going to be a bitch. even if it's going to be tough. there's love in your heart and people who care and #you're going to fucking live and you're going to feel better one day. you have people to meet properly and thank and cherish.#because for every day it feel like the world's ending there are a dozen more where the sun shines just the right way through the rain #and you can't help but smile because it's just so god damn beautiful.#and fuck it. you're sick. your hands hurt and your legs don't work right. and it's tough sometimes. but you have people who understand.#you have people who honest to god love you for who you are and appreciate your company. and 18 is the first step.#you've spent half your life unlearning things and you've spent half your life relearning how to be what YOU want to be #and if you're a mediocre artist and passionate writer then you'll be fucking great at that. taking the time to learn when it strikes you.#and maybe this is for me. but its also for anybody reading it too. please god if there's one thing you take from this let it be that #somebody out there cares. *I* care. god i care. even if we've never spoken proper i care about you.#i practically have a list of everybody i see in my inbox. i love seeing familiar names show up. i.#i dont know how to neatly wrap up this tag ramble. but. i am so damn full of love it hurts sometimes. its scary to be happy but thats ok!
