Interesting question. I think eventually, yes, at first, no. Its complicated, because Philip grew up in a time and place he could easily end up dead if people knew that about him, and this was universally the truth until, ironically, he was taken to the realm. The only person who ever knew was Isa, his brother, before. He wasn’t open about it with Vigo’s group, because you don’t forget a learned lifetime of ‘I’ll be killed’ that easily. It’s instinct. Vigo figured it out for obvious reasons, and Alex figured it out because of who she is, but that was it. After, it was a different world. Jake and Dwight were married, so were Nea and Min. A bunch of them are bisexuals. Susie and Meg were dating. It was different, and that made him much less worried or paranoid, and more comfortable around them, and at home, and I think he knew or understood pretty fast that they would not have an issue with or attack him for it. But again, it’s hard to just let go of hiding something that’s been necessary to your survival to hide your entire life. He talked to Isa again when they met up. I think, after a while (maybe a year?) he talked to Claudette. After that, maybe some others. Maybe Sally and Benedict, since they knew Vigo too. Maybe some of the ones he actively knew would be more like him, like Dwight and Jake, or maybe the ones he spent the most time with first, like Quentin, since he was staying at University with him and Claudette for a few years. Eventually, I think everyone knew, but less as a Philip explicitly told them one by one, and more he loosened up and overcame old fears with comfort, eventually, and began occasionally, when he wanted and felt safe, bringing up and opening up about his experiences. He does trust them, and it’s not like I think he was ever (after the events of Midnight Train anyway) worried about how they’d react. It just. Takes a while for even safe things to feel safe or to feel welcome and good instead of distressing, when they’ve been a major source of fear for decades. It was nice though. And it was very nice to relate to people, and to get to talk to them about the little he remembers, or learned second-hand from Benedict and Sally. Anyway, the answer is not for a bit, but eventually, yes.

Request for Awp! 23. Whispering “I love you” between kisses. + 34. “I know, love, I know.” / Katie /// Time in the Entity’s realm passes by slowly. Or, rather, it doesn’t seem to pass at all. Everyone here is essentially in limbo, a never-ending hellish purgatory that repeats and repeats and repeats. No one knows how long they’ve been here - years pass without any changes to a person’s physical appearance here. Everyone and everything stays the same, other than the Entity’s need to celebrate the holidays occasionally, and the new survivors and killers who get dragged here as well. Death is not an escape, yet no one ever dies. In Laurie’s opinion, things could be worse.

If anything, things have gotten better since she first entered the fog. Having been here longer than most, she’s grown close to her fellow survivors. Back in Haddonfield she never had as many friends as she does now. She was too introverted and shy - Annie and Linda were the ones who came to her first after all - and she was content with her life as a babysitter who never partied but got good grades. But after the horrifying events of the last Halloween she spent with ignorant innocence, a fire had lit inside of her that refuses to let her die, even in a place where death is the only constant. But no one truly dies here. It’s just a rinse and repeat cycle of violence and dimming - but never diminishing - hope. Seeing new people come to the campfire gives her a bittersweet feeling still. Sadness that they have now met the same fate as her and will never leave, but slight happiness at the small change of pace. It becomes insignificant once everyone gets used to the newcomer and they come yet another rusted cog in the Entity’s machine, but at the moment everyone appreciates the distraction while they can. Plus, a new survivor comes with a new killer, and she finds that the more killers who come the less and less chance she has of facing her brother in a trial. There’s also the less chance that she has to enter a trial herself in general, which is always good in and of itself. She would much rather stay at the campfire with her companions. Even so, she still worries about her friends who do enter a trial. The latest ones who got dragged by the mist had been Quentin, Kate, Claudette, and Jake. She’s not as close with Claudette and Jake as she is with Quentin and Kate, but she hopes that all of them come back to the campfire having survived the trial. That would be the best case scenario, everyone escaping, but it’s a lot more rare than she’d care to admit. Kate had taken a med-kit with her when she left. Laurie hopes that’s enough. “Thinking about Kate again, huh?” She snaps her head up to see Zarina, who smiles back and plops down ungraciously next to her. “Ah, my knees,” she groans. “I gotta stretch more.” “I’m sure you’re fine,” Laurie says, turning her attention back to the campfire. To her left she can see Feng sprawled across the laps of her girlfriends Meg and Nea. She smiles softly as she watches Nea mess with Feng’s hands teasingly as Meg politely talks to them about something. Probably about Claudette. Those two by themselves have had the longest lasting relationship here - though Dwight and Jake’s could easily rival it. She hears Zarina start to hum a familiar tune next to her, and she gives her a side-eyed look that has no bite to it. “Really? Huntress’ lullaby? Out of all the songs you know, you pick that one?” “Hey, she was the last killer I went against! Her song has a habit of getting stuck in your head, you know.” Laurie thinks about all the times she’s caught herself singing the song when she was busy doing a generator or patching someone’s wounds and finds herself reluctantly agreeing. “I know, I know. But Kate’s songs are better.” Zarina nudges her. “Are you sure you aren’t being biased just because you love her?” Laurie tries to ignore the blush creeping on her face. “I’m not! Everyone would agree that she’s the best singer and songwriter here.” “You’re not wrong about that, though Nea would probably disagree with you about the singing part. Kate is also the only professional singer here. Maybe the Entity treated us by giving us a survivor who knows how to sing - and who even brought a guitar along here. Life can get so dreary without music.” Laurie lowers her voice. “Even Nea knows she can’t sing - she only does it to bother us.” Zarina stifles a laugh. “Don’t let her hear you say that. She wouldn’t hesitate to push Feng off of her just to fight someone.” “Feng would probably join her.” “Ah, love,” Zarina sighs. Laurie notices how her eyes glanced at Élodie when saying it, but she doesn’t comment on it. She’s not the type to push herself into other people’s business. Zarina turns back to her and offers another smile, this one reassuring. “Try not to worry about Kate too much, okay? She’ll be back before you know it. And who knows, maybe she’ll want to sing for us after she gets a nap in.” Laurie looks down again, still feeling worry in her chest but she lets out a breath. “Alright. Kate probably wouldn’t want me to be too worried anyway.” “I’m sure she’d appreciate the thought. Though, she’d probably appreciate anything you do, since she likes you. A lot.” “I sure hope she does otherwise this whole “dating” thing we’re doing is going to be very awkward.” Zarina laughs and pats her back, letting the conversation die naturally. The trial should be ending soon. It’s been going on for quite some time, and Laurie’s thoughts wander back to Kate, just like they seem to always do lately. She doesn’t know how or when they got so close. She remembers Kate walking to the campfire the same day that the Clown started showing up, and Kate had been everything back then that she still is today. Kind, outgoing, thoughtful, optimistic... traits that Laurie shares but not to the same extent. Where she is the glimmer of light before night that gives dawn its name, Kate is the entire sun engulfing the sky in all her glory. She gives hope, and hope brings life, and life is everything. Laurie doesn’t know how she manages to stay so positive, but she’s grateful for it. The Entity feeds on hope. Those who fall into despair are never seen again. People like Kate who keep everyone’s spirits up are literal lifesavers more so than pleasant company. Laurie tries not to think about it too much. She scratches the palm of her hand and puts all of her attention into the flames dancing a few feet in front of her. -.x.-.x.-.x.- “ - and then Claudette picked me up off the ground and we both sprinted to the exit. It’s been a while since I’ve felt adrenaline pump through my body like that.” Kate tells her story with a wave of her hand but no exaggeration to her words. She’s in a particularly good mood - common for those who have successfully escaped a trial. Even more so for those who managed to escape being hooked once. She grins slightly and answers a question Laurie didn’t have the chance to ask. “Quentin and Jake didn’t make it. Jake sort of sacrificed himself to save Claudette, and poor Quentin ended up getting yanked off a generator twice.” Twice? “He’s not getting enough sleep again.” “Yeah, but I think it’s because he’s been a bit preoccupied with something. Rumor has it that he has a crush on someone.” Laurie blinks. “Quentin does? With who?” Kate shrugs. “No one knows for sure. That’s what it’s a rumor. Either way, today was an unlucky day for him. I’m just glad he’s resting right now like he deserves.” “I hope he sleeps long enough before his next trial. Laurie stares at her in turn, not completely taking the bait but not rejecting it either. “Because I’m cute, and you could never be mad at me?” Kate finishes for her, tone smug and sweet at the same time. Laurie almost wants to disagree out of spite, but huffs a laugh instead, choosing to indulge her. “Okay, fine. Because you’re cute.” Kate smiles widely, leaning forward and kissing her as reward. Laurie responds in kind, wrapping her arms around her back to hold her in place. She sighs silently, happily, leaning into the touch. She feels grateful that, despite the constant pain and deaths and hurt she has to endure in this place, she’ll still able to have moments of reprieve like this. Tenderness, and comfort, and affection. Love. As she’s always thought - it could be worse. But it isn’t, and if there’s anything to feel joy about anymore, it’s this. Sitting here by a tent, a bunch of camaraderie and laughter in the background, and kissing her girlfriend, her songbird, without needing to worry about anything else. At least for a little bit. If she had to be honest, she never thought she’d heal enough to love another girl. She had loved Annie with her entire soul, and her death was nothing short of tragic and traumatic - taken by the hands of her brother. She didn’t want to love another person, not when he was still alive: a threat to everyone she cares about. He had taken everything from her, and would do so over and over again until he finally took her life. She didn’t want to potentially subject anyone else to Michael’s wrath. But the Entity’s realm is different. Kate is different. Everything is different. Laurie had grown close to her, and her love had blossomed naturally. Unexpected, surprising, a little scary, but she welcomed it. She had nothing left to lose here, and Michael could never truly take the lives of those she loves anymore, and that gives her a strange sense of peace that she hadn’t felt in years. It was relieving and freeing, and kissing Kate felt like an embodiment of those two emotions she never knew had been suppressed from her. “I love you,” she whispers against her lips like a sad prayer. She kisses her again, mumbling her words even more. “I love you.” Annie would be happy for her. She knows this. She’s breathing it. “I know, love,” Kate responds. Her voice is hushed and serious, her fingers ghosting the back of her neck. “I know.” Laurie melts into the fog.

My Impression of you Based off Which Survivor you Main (not up to date):

Dwight: You try your best and are altruistic to a fault. You’ll do just about every heal and unhook, plus protection hits. A lot of the time, you’ll be left to die though. Good news for you, because killers may spare you because you’re cute. 

Meg: You think you’re really good at looping, but you’re not. You’re good at doing gens though! 

Claudette: You are a member of a toxic breed. You yourself may not be toxic, but other players may be wary of you due to Claudette’s reputation. Also, you think self care is better than Nancy’s perk. 

Jake: You try to be stealthy, but you never are. If the killer walked past you and “didn’t notice you” then they 100% did notice you, but they felt bad that you have 0 ability to hide so they looked the other way. 

Nea: You think you’re a god at this game and you get too cocky. You get mad when the killer doesn’t fall for your tricks, and can be a little mean. However, you tend to be altruistic and helpful. 

Laurie: You constantly wonder why killers tunnel you when your character comes with Decisive Strike. 

Ace: You’re a meme lord and like how quiet Ace is. You also think you’re cool because you main him. 

Bill: No matter how many hours you have in this game, you will always think you’re at a higher skill level than you are. 

Feng: You’re a sweaty gamer who likes to dominate other players, but you like to look cute while you do it. 

David: You main David for one of two reasons. 1, you think he’s cool and wish you were tough like him, or 2, you think he’s sexy and own the shirtless David torso. 

Quentin: You are extremely underrated and sweet. You carry teams on your back, but then get left to die. We need more players like you. 

Tapp: I almost never see you doing gens or running the killer, but if I’m injured you somehow materialize into existence just so you can rub my back. Then you leave and I never see you again (that is, until I’m injured)

Kate: You main Kate because of boobies. 

Adam: You're stuck in a dilemma. See, when you run Deliverance, it's like the killers know you're running it, and they will do EVERYTHING in their power to hook you first, and the moment you say "fuck it" and take the perk off, suddenly the killers don't give a crap about you and then you're like one of the last people hooked, and then your team just abandons you and you don't get to have your rightful hook jump because you took that stupid perk off. You're mostly chill about it, but deep down you're very salty about it, which I would be too

Jeff: You’re also rare, and despite how sweet of a character Jeff is, I think you’re mad about Jeff's lack of cosmetics, because a lot of y'all are low-key toxic. 

Jane: You main Jane because of booty. 

Ash: You have no right to be as good as you are and somehow die first every single match. 

Nancy: You think you’re better than Claudette mains because you run Inner Healing (Inner Strength) instead of self care.

Leon: It doesn't matter how many hours you have in this game- you could have 5 hours or 5,000 hours- you are legit the most unlucky lucky person ever. You can get away with the most atrocious jukes, impressive loops and cheekiest plays ever, but then right after run face first into a wall, and then take a sharp turn into the killer + haunted grounds just got activated for that +2 'fuck you' damage.

How they treat you in trails | DBD Survivors

Dwight Fairfield

Dwight has his way of going through the trails and leading everyone else to victory. Despite being nervous almost all of the time, he still managed to lead everyone to safety and have them all finish the generators fast and be organized. His bond with the others helps aiding and organizing everyone accordingly. Others think he hides in lockers all the time, but that only applies if all hope is lost and there is no way to finish all gens.

Once you and Dwight have started dating, he constantly tries to find excuses to be by your side. He’ll lead everyone else but make sure that you’ll least likely get hurt. Everyone complained about his obvious favoritism but he sweeps it under the rug and tries to explain to everyone why he does that. After you managed to get the hang of things, he’ll not guardian you as much.

Meg Thomas

Meg is a force to be reckon with in trials! She’s extremely good at keeping the killers in check and making sure they won’t bother any of her teammates in the entire trial while they make generators. And even if she does get hit, her adrenalin helps her to push through all odds and escape the killers grasp before it’s blade can hit her.

You’re important to Meg, no doubt. Whenever you two are in a trail, she’ll do everything to catch the killers attention so you’ll not get hurt. She hates taking protection hits because they’ll usually slow her down, with you though, she’ll take all the protection hits she can. And even though all that sounds nice, she forces you to jog with her occasionally to build up your stamina. 

Claudette Morel

Claudette is usually passive in trails, she hides a lot and rarely engages in chases with the killers. Thanks to her botany knowledge, she knows how to use the plants around her to heal everyone faster and more efficiently. Killers often get frustrated to see that she’s in the trail and even more if she constantly sneaks away and heals everyone.

Claudette always heals you, no matter how little the injuries are. She gets bold and more daring if you’re on the other side of the realm, clearly injured and in pain. If you end up in a realm with little to no plants, she’ll always save some in her pockets and most of the time, only use them on you. Although she does feel a little bad when the other survivors are clearly injured and she runs out of plants. Whoops!

Jake Park

He’s quick and he’s efficient, one moment the killer picks up a survivor, all the hooks have been magically sabotaged and the man responsible is nowhere to be found. Despite his distant and somewhat cold attitude, Jake feels connected to all survivors in some ways and genuinely cares for them. Thanks to his iron will, he can keep quiet even in the most dire times whilst providing aid to the others.

This man adores you to pieces but obviously won’t show it through the typical love languages. He’ll instead abandon everything he does and sabotage every hook nearby if you get downed. And emphasis on the IF, taking protection hits became his number one job for you. He completely denies his obvious favoritism with the excuse that you’re not ready yet to defend yourself in trails. But once he sees you holding yourself up during trials, he’ll feel incredibly proud and not be as overprotective as before. He teaches you some things to survive on your own too. After all, he can’t always be there to protect you.

Nea Karlsson

Nea’s cat like agility and stealth helps her abandon chases and lose killers easily. Crouching everywhere to evade the killer or jumping from high places in a smooth or balanced landing, messing with Nea too much can become punishing. Even though she isn’t as good at outrunning the killer like some other survivors. She doesn’t bring the killer ever to other survivors unless they’ve been slacking off. 

She’s less likely to abandon chases if you’re in the trail but still retains that habit of going undetectable the moment a killer is about to get her. She loves you, she truly does, but she knows damn well you can survive on your own during the trails. And if you don’t, she’ll teach you all there is to know. In the beginning, she’ll be a lot more caring with you in trails but expects you to survive on your own after a while.

Feng Min

Trials are like a game to her, a game which she’ll obviously win! She fights against all odds and pushes through it, sometimes even taunting the killers when they can’t catch her. Catching her can be a pain in the ass, while she’s not good at outrunning the killer she sure knows how to read their minds and use their tactics against them. Alerting the killers to her presence is her main skill, it seems.

Feng teaches you all there is to know to outsmart your enemy. Her tactics usually involves taunting to get the killers riled up enough so they’ll act predictable. She reassured you that she doesn’t taunt them all and only in specific situations. For the taunting, she told you the backstories on many killers. In trails, she’ll often taunt the killer to keep you safe in case you get hunted. 

David King

David is aggressive in the trials and takes protection hits like a champ. Oh, what’s that? A really sharp knife just pierced through his chest and he’s loosing lots of blood? Boo-fucking-hoo, he can live with it long enough to finish all gens and save his teammates. David is usually the one that needs to get healed by Claudette the most and he’ll straight up get hurt again trying to protect others. He wants everyone to live, forever if he could! His loyalty astonished some survivors, especially when he talks about his past.

His attitude towards you hasn’t changed a bit, just the fact that he would literally die for you. Seriously, he might take lots and lots of protection hits for others, but for you? He’ll gladly get hooked and left there, just make it out alive for gods sake!

Yui Kimura

Yui is quick and practical, she’s no Meg or Feng but sure as hell knows how to turn a bad situation around. She’s like a mixture of Jake and Meg, she doesn’t sabotage hooks but usually manages to distract the killer while they’re carrying a survivors to a hook. It usually ends with the survivor wiggling off their shoulder. She wants everyone to survive and will protect them any means necessary! 

Yui forces you to learn everything to survive. Seeing you disappear in a trail makes her heart hurt, especially when you’re new to the Entites realm. When you two are in the same trial, she does everything in her power to make sure you stay save and that the killer stays away from you. She’ll adopt distracting tactics from Feng and run towards the killer. At least you stay save!

Happy valentine's day everyone! I hope y'all enjoy! I decided to only write for the non licensed characters but feel free to let me know if you want the licensed characters. I'm so sorry if any of the characters are ooc.

Gender Neutral reader

Dwight Fairfield

Dwight has never thought that anyone would be romantically interested in him before he met you. 

Yes, he’s made close friends during his time in the fog but they’re more of a family relationship unlike your relationship with him even though the both of you aren’t technically dating. (even though both survivors and killers could see the way the two of you look at each other while being oblivious to it.)

So when Dwight discovers a folded piece of paper in the shape of a heart inside one of his pockets, his heart skipped a beat. 

The nervous guy wouldn’t know how to respond once he finally gathered the courage to read the letter. Poor Dwight is in shock over your confession of love, not thinking that he was your type.

Dwight would go to you once the both of you are taking a break from the trials, confessing his feelings the best he could(stuttering while blathering about how he read your letter) before you give him a kiss to quiet his anxiousness.

Meg Thomas 

In her mind, Meg never thought that she would find love in general, let alone in the Entity's realm. Between her past when she was too busy between her sports and taking care of her sick mother, she didn't have much time to think about a relationship. 

Meg, unlike Dwight, is more in touch with her feelings towards you. Her love language leans more towards actions. (I.e. teaching you how to sprint burst, or taking a protection hit or two while in a trial together) 

Although she's self aware of her feelings for you, she tends to be more defensive when it comes to people calling her out on her feelings towards you. 

Meg accidentally saw the love letter you were writing to her while you were in trial. She didn't mean to read the letter but when she saw her name on it and how you poured your heart for her, she couldn't help but to blush at the fact that you have feelings for her. 

It was kinda mortifying when you heard Meg say that she's read your letter. You didn't have the chance to say anything before Meg pulled you into a kiss.

Jeff Johansen

Jeff isn’t the best when it comes to expressing his feelings verbally. With his anxiety that he’s spent years on trying to put on an intimidating front, he’s not used to feeling what he feels for you. 

When it comes to most of the other survivors, Jeff tends to be civil to them, but he’s simply not the talkative type like Jake and David to a certain extent. But when it comes to you, you make the hell that the both of you are in like heaven. 

Jeff would bond with you over various heavy metal and rock music, often showing you some of his drawings that he’s done during his free time in the Entity’s realm- which very few people has seen (Nea, Jake, David, and the Legin [before the Entity’s realm])  

It was obvious that the two of you are too anxious to confess to each other about how yall feel. So Nea helped you find a way to confess your love for Jeff without being forced into the socially anxious situation- a love song. 

Jeff discovered your love song within the sheets of paper he used to draw. The song itself was beautifully written, causing his heart to turn into mush as he realizes that he doesn’t have to worry about you rejecting his feelings for you. So he does what he knows to express himself- made a drawing of the both of you together. By the time you got back to the campfire a while later, Jeff gives you the picture with a note of his own on the back of it.

Claudette morel 

Claudette is a reserved person when it comes to friendships and relationships in general because of her social anxiety, especially during her time in the entity's realm.

She tries to hide the fact that she has the biggest crush on you but it’s too obvious because of her stammering and lingering glances at you while you're chatting with fellow survivors.

What Claudette didn't realize was that you also had the biggest crush on her. Just like with Dwight, the both of you are too oblivious to the fact that the both of you have feelings for each other. 

When Claudette found your love letter to you inside one of her notebooks with a pressed flower at the bottom of the letter, she thought she was in heaven. 

You were walking back towards the campfire when Claudette next sees you. A sense of giddiness flooded her body as she ran towards you, pulling you into a deep hug as she confesses her feelings. 

Jake Park

The thing about Jake is that he always had the ability to take note of the world around him, especially reading the people around him. 

Jake isn't a people person, feeling rather drained when he's around a lot of the more social survivors. But when it comes to you, Jake feels at peace when you're around. You give him the same peace that being in the woods gave him. 

Jake is good at hiding his emotions from most people, except from a select few people (his mother, you, and Claudette). It comes to a surprise to everyone else when they see Jake starting to teach you how to sabotage hooks and how to keep yourself in a meditative state when you get injured. You’re one of the few people that he’s willing to distract the killer from hooking you. (i.e. Saboteur) 

Your feelings for him didn't go unnoticed by Jake. He doesn't confront you with it - wanting you to be ready to tell him instead of flustering you. You were afraid that Jake didn't see you as a potential significant other, only a dear friend of his.

The letter that you left him in his sleeping bag was rather heartwarming to Jake. He knew that you’re fond of him but wasn’t aware of how much you actually liked him. When he next sees you, Jake will confront you on his reciprocated feelings. 

Elodie Rakoto

Elodie is a stubborn woman, Pre- and post fog. She’s aware of her situation in the Entity’s realm and her main focus is surviving before she got to know you.

 Felix was the first to know that his friend from his Pariahs era had feelings for you. He has talked to Elodie about it but she would change the subject to what information she’s gathered about the realm. 

You’re one of the few people who gets to know the real Elodie; the woman who’s been raised in Madagascar, sharing her knowledge about the places and people she grew up around. 

It was Felix who gave you the idea to write to Elodie about your feelings after he got enough of your loving compliments about his close friend. Elodie just got out of a match when she saw a letter to her on top of her sleeping bag. 

Elodie immediately recognized your handwriting, reading the words of how highly you thought of her. When she next sees you, she immediately pulls you into an embrace, causing you to be a bashful mess as she says that she loves you too.

David king

Coming from the kind of background David has, he's simply not the best at feelings- most especially if it involves love and romance. 

When it comes to the people he cares about, David is fiercely protective over them,most especially over you. If the both of you are in a trial together, David is always there to take protection hits for you and unhook you.

You knew that David always had a soft spot for you but you always thought it was because you're his friend and that David is interested in some of the other survivors, which wasn't the case. 

Deciding to bite the bullet, you decided to write down how you truly feel about David to give to him, sliding it inside his jacket pocket for him to find. 

Reading your letter made David's heart beat faster, his stomach having butterflies that were similar to when he first started fighting. As soon as he next sees you, David would pull you in a deep kiss before telling you that he feels the same towards you. 

Mikaela Reid

Mikaela was always fond of you, especially when you first appeared through the fog. She felt the warmth of your aura and she wanted to get closer to you.

If you practice magic, Mikaela most definitely will teach you what she knows about magic and would teach you how to make boons. 

It was obvious to a lot of killers and survivors that the two of you are close, some of them even making bets to see who confesses to who first. Yet, the both of you aren’t aware of how much the both of you truly like each other. 

You took the advice of Claudette and decided to write your feelings for Mikaela into a letter, virtually pouring your heart out about how much you care for the red-headed witch.

Giving the letter to Mikaela, it caused her to blush in response to the amount of effort it took for you to gather the courage to tell her how you felt; Immediately pulling you into a tight hug, kissing the top of your head. 

Ace Visconti 

Ace is a confident guy- almost too confident for his own good at times. But when it comes to confessing his feelings for you, his overly confident persona disappears. 

This man doesn’t usually have issues with flirting with people with his luck and charm. You’re different. You are more than a bartender or security guard at the casinos he used to frequent at. 

You are someone who actually wanted to get to know the real Ace, not the persona he puts out for people to see. 

To pass time together, Ace taught you how to play various card games like poker and five card stud while the both of you talked about your lives before yall were taken to play a hellish game of cat and mouse. 

When he found a letter addressed to him from you while you were in a match, he couldn't help but to be cocky because of the fact that you have feelings for him, not any of the other survivors. You bet your ass he's going to pull you into a deep kiss once you get back to the campsite.

Nea Karlson 

Nea is rather a rebel at heart, not caring what others think about her. She's used to people judging her for her "illegal" hobbies and her looks in general. 

Her personality from before the realm still is apparent while in the Entity's game. With you,  Nea tries to be more careful around you during trials (not trying to make the killers angrier by trolling them). 

The both of you are perfect for each other. Nea brings out your wild and free spirit side, you give her a sense of comfort as you take care of her wounds after an intense chase.

You knew more about Neas personal life than any of the other survivors. She would even teach you Swedish so that the both of you would be able to talk to each other without the others knowing.

When she found a love poem for her inside one of her beanies, her heart fluttered as she read your sweet words about how she makes you feel. Like Ace, Nea will most definitely pull you into a passionate kiss when she next sees you.

Feng Min

When it comes to Min, she never thought that she would fall for you while in this hell of a cat and mouse game that the Entity's in charge of. But here she is, enamoured with your presence and how you make this game even more worth winning.

The two of you would bond over your shared love for video games and internet culture. 

While you're not as professional as Min is, you still enjoy hearing Min get excited when you talk about a video game she played in the past.

You were in love with Mins determination and how she's up to facing any challenges that go her way in order to win. Min was in love with how supportive you are over her, eagerly helping her work through gens with such ease, even taking a few hits for her.

One day while you were in a match, Min found the letter that you were going to give to her. It honestly gave her so much happiness to see that her feelings weren't one sided, that you actually love her back. When you finally come back to the campsite, you were met with Min jumping in you arms conferring her feelings towards you.

A Day To Remember, a Nea x Yui Oneshot

This is a commission collab I did with my friend Fizzie! Basically, we came up with the idea that we give each other characters and a third or first-person POV to go off of, and we write a story just based on those. She posted hers a day or so ago, so go check it out and give it some love!

The weather was perfect today. The sun was shining, no clouds to be seen...it was just a great day to get out and do something. And that’s exactly what this group of friends was doing. But they weren’t going out just as a last-minute thing, this was all planned out months in advance. And it was going to happen no matter the conditions.

Why so dead set on going out? Well, today was an extremely special day for two girls, in particular, those girls being Nea and Yui. The two had been dating for...well what seemed like forever. But they had been dating for around four years maybe? Ever since the beginning of college. And well...within the next couple of days, they were going to get married. And who else would be a part of their wedding if not their group of friends they had been with basically since they were children?

Now, things weren’t always great for this group of girls, but honestly, it always worked out in the end. And today would hopefully be no different. The five of them were just supposed to go out and get their nails done, then go to lunch afterward. And it was all supposed to go according to plan, but you know, nothing could ever go perfect, especially not with this group.

It had all started this morning, and can you guess who the first one to screw up was? If you guessed Nea, you would be correct. The girl had forgotten to set her alarm the previous night, and Yui had gone to spend the night with some of her old friends from Japan that had flown down to America for the wedding of their friend. They had stayed at the hotel, but they weren’t coming with them to get their nails done today. Since it was just going to be the two bridal parties together.

And as anyone could have guessed, Yui was not that happy to find out that Nea had forgotten an alarm on a pretty special day. But, Nea had apologized profusely as she ran around the house quickly getting changed into sweatpants and a t-shirt, all while their three friends Laurie, Meg, and Claudette giggled at the couple’s antics. The lack of Nea being prepared did not make them late though, so that was a little bit of a bonus to the shitty beginning of the day.

When they arrived at the nail salon, everyone was no doubt, excited. Nea was talking with Meg and Claudette as they walked in, trying to decide on a matching color. Since the two were her bridesmaids, she wanted to make sure she picked out something they all liked. In the end, they had decided on a pretty light pink color. Since Nea’s dress was white, sticking with the traditional way of things. Well, as traditional as you could get with a lesbian wedding that is. The pink would match really well with the bright white gown.

Yui on the other hand was supposed to wear a white kimono, sticking with her traditional Japanese ways. She had a pink and white floral uchikake for the reception afterward, something her grandmother had worn at her own wedding, a garment Yui absolutely adored ever since she was a child. Now….she would get to marry the love of her life in it.

Laurie was her bridesmaid, being closer to the older woman than Nea’s two other friends. And they had both decided on a beige color for their nails, thinking it would look good with the white and the pink. Which, funny enough, were the colors for the decorations the two women had decided to be their main decor of the ceremony.

As they walked inside the salon, there weren’t a lot of people there, maybe like….two others? Since it was still pretty early, but since they were getting both nails and feet done, they didn’t want to be there super late in the day when more people would start popping up. Common decency at its finest.

They were lead to sit down by a worker after picking out a polish from the walls, deciding to get acrylics for their hands with gel polish instead of normal polish, so it would stick on longer. And...quite a few of them had short nails, mostly because of their jobs. Yui was a mechanic since she always loved bikes and cars, things like that. Nea was a painter, but not a normal one. She got paid to do graffiti art on bridges and such, something to make the town more lively.

Meg was a semi-professional athlete. She wasn’t too well known, but she made a pretty good amount of money. Laurie was a childcare worker, working at a school and her nails broke easily around young children, she had come to learn that the hard way. And Claudette was a doctor, and she didn’t want to accidentally be poking people with her nails all too often through the gloves she wore. So needless to say, they didn’t get to have nice long nails like some girls a lot of the time and wanted to make sure they stayed on for the amount of time they could have them.

They were sat down in the chairs to get their toes done first, one of the workers bringing over five glasses of champagne for them, one for each girl. And since they were all over twenty-one, they accepted it gratefully. Claudette wasn’t much of a drinker, but she would make an exception for this. It was a pretty special day after all, and she had taken off work for the next two days for the wedding.

Honestly, most of them had forgotten what it was like to just...be pampered like they were. It was honestly something they weren’t able to do often, being adults and such now with jobs to worry about. So it was relaxing while they just chatted, laughed, drank, and got their nails done. They did have a little incident where Meg almost kicked the nail stylist because the red-head was very much ticklish, but it didn’t seem to phase the person working on her. Only waving it off with a chuckle and saying it happens all the time.

They were there probably around….three and a half hours? Mostly because despite the early time of day, a lot of people seemed to come in quickly, and the girls had to wait to get their hands done. But, nonetheless, it was worth the wait, and the five females were very happy with how everything turned out.

Though they didn’t condone drinking and driving, Claudette didn’t really like the champagne, and only ended up drinking two or so sips before she couldn’t do it anymore, finding the taste too strong without a chaser. And Nea was more than willing to finish it off for the smaller girl.

This also meant Claudette was now their driver for going off to lunch. So, they all piled into Laurie’s car, Laurie in the front with Claudette while the other three sat in the back, Nea and Yui sitting beside each other holding hands while Meg stared out the window, asking where they were going for the thousandth time since they left the salon. And the answer was the same each time. It was some little small-town restaurant that Claudette’s boyfriend, Quentin, owned. So not only would they get a discount, but he made pretty awesome food.

It didn’t take long to get there, the place only slightly packed for the rush hour of lunchtime. And they quickly got out of the car, heading inside while chatting, obviously having to tease Claudette about coming to the place her boyfriend worked at.

As they walked inside, they spotted the curly-haired brunette behind the diner immediately. He had on his usual bright smile, his smile only growing bigger when he saw the five walk in, but it was definitely aimed towards Claudette.

“Hey, guys! Welcome in and have a seat wherever you want. I trust you guys to not take any unneeded space,” he said, more concentrated on the plates of food he was currently trying to carry. Quentin had changed a lot since high school. He wasn’t as shy as he used to be, and he had grown a lot taller almost six feet, and his hair had grown out a little longer. Needless to say, Claudette made a really good choice when she decided to start dating the nerdy kid.

The five took a seat at a booth, Meg, Laurie, and Claudette on one side with Nea and Yui on the other sitting beside each other. They chatted as they waited patiently for Quentin to come over to take their order, the boy handing off the plates of food to his co-worker, and ex-girlfriend Nancy. They had ended off on good terms, Quentin finding out he was into Claudette. And Nancy was totally fine with that, considering she and Quentin had been friends since childhood.

When he did come over, he let his customer service facade drop, his smile still there but seeming just a little less fake. He leaned down to press a quick kiss against Claudette’s cheek, causing the girl to giggle quietly and her friends to coo at her, “Alright….I’m guessing you all want the usual? Tea for you babe, water for Laurie, Sprite for Meg, iced tea for Yui, and a coke for Nea?” he asked, earning nods and smiles from the five girls. He wrote it down and walked off quickly, not before giving a quick congratulations to Yui and Nea. He hadn’t had much time to see them running his diner. One that his friend Steve had said he should open and most of his friends had pressured him into it. It was one of the best decisions of his life if he was entirely honest.

They sat and chatted for an hour or so, eating the food that was paid for by Quentin, despite the objections of everyone at the table. But, the brunette was kind that way...even if he was a little more than annoyed when he saw the tip left for him by the five women. Since the day was over, Claudette was going to drive everyone home with Laurie’s car, and Quen would pick her up when he was done with work in a couple more hours.

Nea and Yui were the first to be dropped off since their house was the closest, the engaged couple giving hugs and promises of seeing them tomorrow bright and early to go to where their wedding ceremony was supposed to be held. And after the goodbye’s, waved as they watched their three friends drive off down the road.

Nea turned to her smaller fiance, a small smile on her face as she slipped her arms around the woman’s waist, pulling her closer and pressing a kiss against her forehead, “I ever tell you how much I love you?” she asked with a small tilt of her head, and Yui could only giggle at Nea’s antics.

“You say it all the time darling....but I guess there’s nothing wrong with hearing it again..” she told her as she leaned up, arms wrapping around her shoulders to kiss her properly, lips pressed firmly against Nea’s. If this is what she was getting for the rest of her life, well, then she got pretty damn lucky.

David on reader’s birthday: ficlet

David is in the middle of re-wrapping the bandages on his hands when he hears the unmistakable off-key tune of Nea starting to belt out “Happy Birthday”. David groans and resists smacking his head against a nearby tree as some of the others join in on the singing; not another bloody birthday celebration!

David used to love birthday parties. But in here, where there’s no meaningful gifts, no real food, and no booze? It just reminds him of what he’s missing. Not to mention it’s nearly impossible to keep track of time in the fog, and even though Dwight tries to keep a calendar, periodically announcing important dates like Christmas, David sees it for what it is; a desperate attempt to keep the others’ spirits high.

He reluctantly joins the commotion to humor the others, seeing as even antisocial Jake and grumpy Bill are doing the same. He may not agree with the dumb traditions but he’s not gonna be the one to ruin it for everyone else. He only wishes someone would have warned him so he could have conveniently not been here right now.

David watches as Claudette appears from the woods with Meg in tow, holding an absolute abomination of a cake, the duo apparently having combined several escape cakes to a monstrosity with more layers than gravity should allow.

David is in the middle of an indulgent daydream about punching the dumb cake to pieces, when Claudette unexpectedly places the cake in front of... you. He stares at your embarrassed but smiling face, clearly not having expected this kind of spectacle, and feels all his previous irritation fade. When he glances around and sees a few people start pulling out makeshift gifts, his heart sinks. Why didn’t he realize sooner?

You’ve been having this flirty back-and-forth for weeks. David has tried to be patient, doing his best not to rush things or scare you off, but you’re either oblivious as all hell or you only see him as a friend. This could have been his chance to make a move but now, he doesn’t even have a gift and is going to look like a total prick. Fuck!

Yui urges you to blow out the single candle. “Don’t forget to make a wish!” she adds with a wink. David’s heart skips a beat as you glance at him for a split second before blowing out the flame. Was that just his imagination?

Nobody else seems to notice, as the others cheer and Steve throws handfuls of party streamers on you, Tapp yelling at him to save them for trials. The detective is not amused by the “Live a little, pops!” the teen in a sailor costume quips at him in retaliation.

David watches the others give you gifts. Kate has made you a flower crown and places it on your head. Ace gives you one of his five million baseball caps, claiming this one’s somehow “extra lucky”. Jane gifts you a charm with an owl, while Jeff hands you a sketch he did of you. Laurie gives you a shiv (don’t question it). Jake hands you a feather (again, don’t question it). Feng gets you an actual gag gift in the form of a fucking tire, rolling it into camp after having nicked it from Autohaven. Quentin surprises everyone by dropping a huge pile of green medkits into your lap. Dwight stutters and gives you a handmade necklace, having threaded glass and crystal beads on some twine. David sees you smile brightly and put the necklace on and can’t help but glare at Dwight and his stupidly thoughtful gift.

When nobody else is stepping forward, Meg hands you an entire commodious toolbox filled with various offerings, claiming “This one’s from all of us!”. David knows for sure it’s just her and Claudette’s gift, and she’s trying to save his and the others’ ass. He pretends not to notice your smile falter in disappointment and how you pointedly don’t look his way when you thank all your friends for their gifts.

When Jane starts cutting the cake, David braces himself and joins in even though he knows it will be terrible; this is the least he can do for you. There’s only five of you brave enough to subject yourselves to the cake and like all of the Entity’s pathetic imitations of food, it tastes like air with a side of cardboard. You all pretend to enjoy it as you thank Claudette for putting it together.

After the others begin to scatter and leave you to sort your pile of gifts, David makes his move. “Come with me for a sec, yeah?”

“Sorry I didn’t get ya nothin’,” David says when you’re out of earshot from the camp. “It’s okay, I never expected you guys to go through this much trouble--” you start. “‘S not okay--I would’a given ya somethin’. I just didn’t know.” “Well, either way. It’s fine.” David feels like his chest is gonna burst. He needs you to understand that he cares. Subtlety has never been his strong suit, so... fuck it. “Maybe I can still give ya somethin’.” At your confused head tilt, he puffs up his chest and continues: “Look, I dun mean ta sound full of meself--” “But that’s like 90% of your personality,” you grin, elbowing him playfully. David snorts. “Alright, ya got a point. ‘Cuz I was gonna say I could be ya gift.”

Your playful smile fades and you look at him warily. But at least you’re not rejecting him? Right? David is not the best at social cues so he decides to just go for it, bridging the distance between you and cupping your cheek (gently, he reminds himself) with one hand while the other cards through your hair, careful not to ruin the flower crown.

When you don’t push him away, he leans down to kiss you. He tries so hard to be gentle, he really does, but when you sigh and melt into the slow kiss, a part of his self-restraint dies. He unconsciously tightens the hand in your hair, swallowing your surprised gasp and unable to resist adding some tongue to the kiss, groaning into your mouth--

David mentally slaps himself, breaking away and putting some distance between you, both of you panting from the unexpected heat of the kiss.

“Happy birthday?” David says, cringing a bit from having gotten carried away. So much for taking it slow. “Thank you,” you mumble and he breathes a sigh of relief, thankful he didn’t cross any boundaries. Then, he’s taken completely off guard when you wrap your hands around his neck, pulling him back against you. “Now give me the rest of my gift,” you whisper against his lips.

David barks out a laugh that gets half-muffled by your mouth, before continuing the kiss, this time with unrestrained enthusiasm.

shippy hcs would be wonderful! i was referring to them as an established poly relationship post fic; i actually saw the comment where you were talking about how claudette can fit into different relationships and thought that was so fitting (and such a testament to the beauty of her character, but thats another long winded ask to send another day). once again, thanks for putting out ILM into this world. it’s a joy to read, reread, and treasure <3

Also I’m glad because I initially read it that way and was halfway to answering when I was like ‘wait,’ but my instincts were correct haha.

Claudette/Jake/Dwight is an interesting poly ship. It’s funny, because obviously both of them love her and she loves both of them. Just, I don’t think her priority has ever been having a romantic relationship, and neither has theirs. I also think it just kind of...wouldn’t occur to Dwight or Jake that that was a thing. Like, they know about polyamoury, they know it exists. But I feel like straight up there’d like, be an escape anniversary party or something, and she gives them both super heart felt gifts she clearly loved to make, and they’re both touched, give hugs, pass her their own sweetly made things, last little group hug, she’s like “Love you guys” and as she runs off to go give out other gifts to other loved ones, Jake’s super sincerely like “You too,” and Dwight’s like *looks at him, looks at her, smiles* “Yeah. Love you.” and she’s gone, and someone who they were chatting with before (probably Meg, Nea, or Ace) would joke something like “Why didn’t you two just also marry Claudette? You’d be such a happy trio” casually offhand, and they’d be like “Haha yeah!  ... ... ... haha...yeah.... ? Once they did, though, I feel like it would definitely be the same event that clued them both in, so they’d both be like “Hmmm” at the same time, and pick up on that, and talk first, and be like “...Yeah, I mean. Maybe? But would she even be comfortable with that? Is it weird?” And Jake, who has the most secure identity in this area, would not really have any issue from the get-go and would mostly be like “Boy am I stupid for this never occurring to me once”. Dwight would need more time to think and talk stuff through and figure himself out, but is a lot more comfortable than he was. Claudette would be the last one. They’d both approach her at some point, and it would be incredibly awkward and kind of a disaster despite the fact they practiced and thought they had a gameplan, and she’s just like, “What? ...What?” and confused, and she’s a very worry-prone person, so she’d be like “Oh no, did I do something? Is this bad? Do they just feel bad for me? Since I’m not dating and they want me to feel included? Is this a bad idea? What do I even actually want?” and since she’s got the least experience dating, she’d take the longest to think things through. Would talk to Meg, and Quentin, and Philip, and her parents, and Ace. And they’d all help, but Meg would be the most help. Because Meg’s simple. She’d just say, “Well, do you want to be dating them both?” and Claudette would be like, “Well. I don’t know. I love them. And it might be nice to have a romantic relationship with someone I love someday. But I don’t know if this is how I want that, or if it would be good, because I have no idea what this would look or feel like,” and Meg would be like, “Well then why don’t you just like, go on a few dates/hangs like you’re dating, and see if it’s fun and good, or uncomfortable and bad, and if you three all feel like it fits and makes life even better, go for it, and if it turns out to be a mistake like that time Jake and I really thought we’d get some hella traction making out, then say ‘Well that was awful lol. Friends it is!’ and Susie and I will take all of you for drunk lazer-tag.”

And that works, because well, it’s more sensible than any amount of introspection without experience, or thinking, or worrying is. So they give it a go for like a week, and it’s awkward as hell for like the first fifteen minutes, but this is a trio of people who’ve known each other so long and been so fundamentally entrenched in each others’ lives for years, and love and trust each other so completely and deeply, it really can’t be that awkawrd, and everyone has prepped best they can, and kind of laugh at themselves, and just like, spend the day at theme park, and get food, and laugh and talk about life like always, but just this time with a kind of romantic shade, and it’s nice. And there’s a lot of days like that--not all so big, more just, at home, hanging out, doing whatever. And it is weird, because none of them has done this before, but. It’s also fun. And none of them have any weird kind of favoritism insecurities, because they were already pretty well and equally entrenched in each others’ lives before, and it’s fun. Jake is strategic because he’s kind of the planning mind behind this, and gets advice from Meg, and they marathon a lot of Leverage with only Jake knowing this is a sneaky ploy to help the other two get more comfortable, because there’s just not a ton of good filmic poly trio rep, but damn if that show hasn’t got a great one. 

I think the trial period just kind of hits the end of it’s week and Jake and Dwight are like “So do you want to keep going?” and she’s like “...Yeah. : ) “ and so they do, and it’s like that for a while. They all move at their own paces, and in their own clearly discussed (and, as well as they know each other, usually already mostly known) comfort zones, and it’s fun, and nice. It also helps that everyone else is not just supportive and chill, but most of them are like, goofily into it.

They’ve been dating for like, four months before any of them explicitly calls it that officially. But it’s cute. Jake wants it to be official so he gets people anniversary gifts and then is kind of embarrassed but more pleased with himself, and it’s very cute and goes over well.

Everyone puts in work to figuring out how to keep this healthy and good, since none of them had a lot of preexisting knowledge for being with multiple people. They all do that their own way. Claudette spends hours and hours doing research online and checking for tips from people online, and really works hard to be a good girlfriend, and it’s very sweet. Meg and especially Quentin both have no real idea how to help her, but clock a lot of hours trying and doing pretty good. So secondarily do Nancy and Susie.

I’m pretty sure eventually they’d have another wedding, legally official or not--and not because any of them really feel a need to, but because they think it would be fun and Claudette should get to dress up too, and tbh it would be cute. I feel like Meg, Ace, and Susie are major factors pushing for this. 

All of their parents think it’s a little weird, but their kids were missing for like 4 years getting tortured in hell, and they’re all reasonable people; they don’t say shit. Also, they all like all the other parties involved, so they’re like “Rat’s don’t understand these things” (this is a Muppet Christmas Carol inside joke I use all the time even though only like 4 people get it but I hope it makes some sense from context lol), but figure they don’t really have to to be happy their kids are happy and loved and doing well.

Meg is like “Fuck why didn’t we think of this. Why have I been supporting it when I could have nabbed her for me and Susie?” and Quentin doesn’t say shit but he thinks very loudly, “I know, right? Nancy and me are over here like ‘same hat’ fml,” but genuinely they’re very happy for the three of them and with the relationships they have. There’s just a lot of love to go around.

While there’s probably some kind a wedding eventually, definitely about as soon as they start dating, Jake and Dwight start calling her their wife. She’s flustered and like “But I’m note! I’m just your girlfriend.” and Dwight’s like “Yeah, but that makes it sound weirdly unbalanced,” and Jake who looked this up for this moment is like, “Well, by Quebec common law marriage standards, you actually are our wife--we cohabitated for over three years in the realm, so,” and Dwight’s like “whoa for real?” and she’s just like : o   But it kinda helps and she accepts it. The downside is Nea hears the story and tells Meg and together they start just fuckin calling all their realm friends their spouses goofily 24/7 when they want shit like “David, my wonderful strong husband, can you pleeeeease get me a sodie from the fridge? : D <3″ and it’s very funny but it’s also pure chaos. Like, so much more than usual.
