Since there are cars in garlemald there's a non-zero chance that Zenos had a driver's license and I want to think he was so exacting and terrifying with his instructors. They'd all be afraid to fail him because he's the crown prince and also pretty well-known for being a living weapon masterful swordsman since childhood so each instructor he's given tries to just pass him through without any criticism.

... Failing to realize Zenos is also kind of a turbo nerd. They pass him and he's like "Wrong. That maneuver violated four different laws. Now, the real question at hand is whether you are incompetent, lazy, or intentionally trying to sabotage my lessons?" and then the instructor mysteriously disappears and he gets a new one.

For a maybe more lighthearted headcanon, I loved how in FFXVI Clive had a specific chocobo (Ambrosia my beloved) and I like to imagine people in Eorzea have bonds they develop with their chocobos too! Like imagine if Haurchefant's black chocobos he raised all had names, or like he knew the names of all the chocobos he raised who were given to various Lords in Ishgard? 🥺 it would be so cute... I know the player can do that for their wol, name their chocobo and imagine a relationship between their character and their steed, but it's so fun to imagine it for the NPCs too!!

There is actually ALLOT of things that Make Fox happy.

Rather he's traversing a variety of different galaxies, or soaring through the skies with his trusty companion, his Arwing (and of corse his crew). He finds happiness in the simple things.

Bonding: He finds happiness in the deep bonds he builds with his crew and friends he makes along his travels. His crew is so much more than that tho. They are family.

Growth: Personal growth is one thing that stems from his happiness. Self-improvement and growth (also seeing that in others truly warms his heart).

Balance: Despite his demands and strict-duties he likes to pursue other passions outside of arial combat, taking time to rejuvenate and take care of himself. Simple things like taking the time to groom his fur or spending time with those he cares about not only help him de-stress, but assist in keeping him grounded. He knows that there is so much more than just being stuck in Space all of the time, despite having an undying love for the skies.

Tranquility: In the midst of chaos and conflict, Fox cherishes moments of peace and quiet. Whether he's stargazing from the Great Fox's observation deck or taking flight through the cosmos, moments of solitude provide him with a sense of calm and perspective.

For Fox McCloud, happiness is about those he cares about, the meaningful things he does, the peaceful moments he enjoys, and the journey of self-improvement and balance. It's about feeling fulfilled inside and connected to others, as he works towards making not only Corneria but the galaxy a better place.

🧡 A Friendship-Themed Headcanon for Omorose 🧡

Thinking about it, I am not entirely sure Omorose is capable of a genuine "friendship", and what would be a "friendship" to her would absolutely be stretching the limits of the word as we know it, lol. Friendship implies a level of equivalence and trust, so a true friendship to her would be 1) someone that is on exactly equal footing as her; and 2) someone that means no ill will and would not turn against her or use her (as she herself would).

So, I really don't think there is a chance at true friendship with her. Omorose defines people across these categories:

Tools & Assets: Can be used for leverage or to gain power or accomplish some means. Thinks very little of their opinion in return and their well-being.

Current allies: Heavy emphasis on *current*. There are no permanent allies with her. Just as she would turn on pretty much anyone if the opportunity struck, she expects others to do the same. Geb is a vicious place, and the politics even more cutthroat.

Nuisances: Not necessarily a major concern or danger, but something in the way. Thought of more as a thing than a person.

Enemies: Actual threats. These are people that she considers on equal footing but obviously at odds with her and her goals.

Pleasant Distractions: A fun category. Someone who isn't a threat to her, either because they are inconsequential to her power or because they mean no ill will, and she doesn't mind being around or interacting with.

Goals: Lastly, the aspirational category. Someone she needs to court or win over to her side as an ally or tool, or even an enemy she greatly respects and wants to obtain some measure of control over.

For most general people in the world, you'll want to land in the "pleasant distraction" category 🧡

ARTHUR. 😂 Actually, that's not entirely true - Stoplight does hold anger towards Aquaman, for intruding in their territory and stealing their prey, for collapsing their territory and sealing away the rest of his kind beneath the earth's crust. Stoplight understands something else though; Aquaman wasn't the cause of them dying. They were already a dying race before he came to save the people they'd taken as food for their Queen, having long since exhausted their hunting grounds to satiate her endless appetite.

What angered Stoplight was not being able to understand why they were dying. He would hunt and hunt, feeding younger members of his kind that didn't seem to grow stronger no matter how much they were given. Truthfully it was lack of nourishment taking it's toll on an already dwindling gene pool, causing too many of their children to be born weak, if they even managed to live long enough to draw their first breath of water. They failed to thrive, and that failure was his, having failed to get enough food, the right sort of food to make them better again. They had to swim further, towards the surface in hopes of finding something to strengthen their Queen, ensuring enough of her young grew strong enough to make it out of the nursery. But now Stoplight doesn't worry about that anymore. Now his kind lie buried beneath a mountain of rubble, what's left of them anyway. Perhaps in some strange way, it was some small mercy for the Trench, having no other option than to hunt in a world they didn't belong in, where others would grow angry their own children were being taken away to feed others not of their kind, and perhaps come for revenge. It is a lot for him to take in but that anger has quelled, simmering quietly below the surface along the magma quietly cooling over Stoplight's old home. Now there is only silence, leaving a world where Stoplight has no idea what to do with himself now he's alone. It makes him fearful, and fear is what makes him angry.

Lizzington shippers, fam, grandmas and grandpas, can I have a moment of your attention, please?

It's not a secret that, while some people in Lizzington community are still active, whether they write or make gifs or keep our dash full of Lizzington even in this trying times ( @melbob26-blog, thank you for this! ), Lizzington community as a whole went into hibernation over the last couple of years.

And I get it, interests change, especially when one show ends and there's another ongoing, moving on from the show that ended is totally natural, especially when it didn't give your favorite characters the happy ending they deserved.

I get it.

Hell, for a pretty lengthy while there I focused on other ships and shows, too, especially after TBL ended ended last year.

But you know what I realized earlier today, when I reread some of the old fics, browsed through gifsets and text posts, watched some fanvids?

It's the show that ended, for some in 2021, for others in 2023. And the only thing that means is that it cannot disappoint us anymore.

( it's not like we were suddenly deprived of quality content, because let's face it, the fans have been the main source of the quality lizzington content for years now, while the show gave us mere crumbs, on a good day )

But Red and Liz?

They are still out there, fighting criminals, catching Blacklisters, travelling the world, shamelessly flirting, toppling shadow organizations, raising Agnes and/or any other children they have, and generally being the sexy badass power couple they are!

Nothing changed in that regard.

So why would we mourn them, when they are out there, healthy and happy and in the middle of yet another adventure? I'm sure right this moment Red is drawing Liz into another one of his heists and she's only too happy to join him, even though she pretends that she's not, for the sake of the game.

There's literally no reason for us to stop writing, giffing, editing, sharing theories and headcanons and memes and just talking about our favorite couple.

And by writing all of this, I want to propose something daring to you:

Let's revive the Lizzington community!

Let's rewatch earlier seasons and gif the hell out of them because it's been a while and because precious moments between these two are not going to become less precious even if it's giffed 10 or 100 more times, not to mention that ever gifmaker's style is different, so there are virtually no two identical gifsets as there are no two identical snow flakes.

Let's make fanvideos, picspams, picture edits, fanart, moodboards! The amount of songs, quotes, moments etc that can inspire you is virtually endless!

Let's write fics, let's explore AUs, let's give each other prompts and challenge each other to try something new or practice some aspect of writing, like writing kisses or AUs or hugs or making up Blacklisters etc!

Let's share headcanons and theories and ideas and what our versions of Red and Liz are like, because everyone has their own unique versions of Red and Liz living in their head, and it's just beautiful, if you ask me!

Idea for a story

Posted about this before but I think she should've done noncon human transmutation on Roy for the second time in 24 hours and forced him to take one of her eyes to get his vision back instead of what happens in canon. Thematically mismatched eyes of mutually assured self-destruction. Only reinforcing the CamPal of warcrimes of it all.

Since I posted that already, I would love to know how weird and awkward her time as Bradley's personal assistant was. Suddenly she is forced to play house along with Wrath and Pride. Could Mrs. Bradley sense that her husband's assistant loathed her kid for some reason. Did she take it personally.

Unpopular opinion

I don't think she and Roy were hooking up. It's more interesting if they don't even want to and are just using people's amatonormative assumptions against them, but even if they want to they're not. They hate themselves too much.

Favorite relationship

It's interesting to me that she dislikes treating Ed and Al like children. She disapproves when Roy lies to them about Hughes, and she gives Ed a gun. Certainly now that they're in the military treating them like kids does them no favors. Riza went to the front very early - is she trying to help them because it was hard for her? Is she making it worse by encouraging them to think of themselves as soldiers? Bit of both, I think. FMA contains a lot of people passing on the damage done to them to the next generation. Sometimes they mean well.

Favorite headcanon

Noticed last year that she's the only non-Xingese character who can sense the presence of the homunculi and had a discussion with Gill about whether she has aptitude for alkahestry. We decided it would be cool if she learned it and created circles by shooting 5 bullets rather than throwing 5 knives.

There is so much spooky stuff in the Lochs, I always wished they would explore that more in the game 👀 I don't feel confident enough in the lore of the Lochs or Ala Mhigo more generally to think of something related to that, but here's something!

So I like to headcanon (or maybe it's close to the actual canon in the 4.1 msq echo scenes, I'm not entirely sure if it's just my interpretation or not) that Fordola's resonant causes her echo to be basically on 24/7. She's hearing thoughts, she's seeing memories, she's just haunted by other peoples' pasts and presents and tormented by it more often than not.

With that in mind, can you imagine how often she must see Yda and Papalymo? Lyse brings them both up often, so you'd have to figure they're both at the forefront of her mind at any given time. Probably the first time she sees Yda in Lyse's memories it turns her pale white, recognizing Yda as the freedom fighter who gave her some glimmer of hope as a child before that hope was crushed yet again. She sees Yda in every possible context that Lyse ever did: all her best and worst moments, times of laughter, joy, and sorrow. Her giving speeches to Lyse to inspire her to never give up, and telling her fondly about the Ala Mhigo that once was before Garlemald invaded. Rallying Fordola from beyond the grave, just like she did all those years ago.

Likewise, Papalymo was always a stern voice of reason for Lyse, but would give her comfort when needed, too. I think the first few glimpses of him would anger her, maybe causing her to stand up and shout at the phantom, leaving Lyse totally puzzled as to who she was talking to. Over time she would see the logic in some of his lectures, how he was always the one to keep Lyse grounded and keep her from flying off the handle. Something that rubbed off on Lyse and made her a more mature and level-headed person now, recalling his words and living by his values.

Seeing the ghosts of Lyse's past helps Fordola to understand the amazing person she is now, and to recognize how much room she has to grow still herself.

🧼 A Hygiene Headcanon for Minovae 🧼

I have talked at length about the effort she extols to keep her scales and feathers clean and looking nice, so let's shift to another type of hygiene: nails!

Pretty much all of Mino's 'growable' features grow at a 3x rate compared to a normal human. It's not just her hair, but her nails, except she doesn't benefit from them being exceptionally strong or 'claw'-like. They're just normal human nails, and susceptible to breaking if she doesn't keep them trimmed and taken care of on a regular routine. She always has clippers and a file in her pack, and tries to put a durable clear lacquer on them when she has the downtime (and clean space) to sit around and wait for it to dry.

She's suffered some pretty awful nail infections - especially in the thick of the war when she's entrenched for weeks.

Thematic Headcanons.

The night may hold terrors to many for it is the unknown that hides in the darkness but for Stoplight, it is the other way around. It is the darkness that provides comfort, offering him a place to hide, to hunt and to thrive. Daylight offers no such security however, hurting his eyes with how bright everything is and there is no terror like the surface being illuminated for all who live within it. During the day, Stoplight hides away from the sun, nestled in the furthest reaches of the underwater cave he now calls home. Daylight is so bright, painfully so and worse, it provides no cover for him whatsoever. He's exposed, vulnerable in the open therefore Stoplight holds no love for the day. Night is a little better but even then the moon can betray his presence just like her sister, the sun. The two orbs way up in the sea of stars might as well both be his enemy. Rest is all Stoplight can do when daylight arrives, having fled back to his den as soon as dawn starts breaking over the horizon. In the darkness of his cavern, he can do little else but wait until the sun falls again and may pass the time examining his hoard, studying all the strange objects he's picked up around the coastline.

I just found out about this blog and I have many questions: what is Marxolor week and what is done?

Congrats on finding this place! It is VERY new!

Marxolor Week came about because it was brought up that we of the Kirby fandom maybe ought to have an official "Marxolor Day" or a day to celebrate either the ship, pairing, or close-knit grouping of trickster villains Marx and Magolor! As the Japanese fandom often treats their in-between birthday (or the date that falls directly in-between their two "birthdays", ie, June 9th) as that day, the idea of forming a Ship Week around it for the two of them was born!

(Note: while I and others ship them at least semi-romantically, people who ship them as platonic/aroace life partners and inseparable buddies are welcome too, as long as you're okay with sharing this space and don't neg those who see them romantically!)

-What is a "Ship Week?"

A "ship week" is a concept that has grown in popularity over recent years. It is the idea of uniting the fandom (as many who want to participate, that is!) to create and share NEWLY MADE content about a specific "ship" to hype it up, spread it around, give us all fun things to look forward to, and just celebrate in all the joy to be had around it - all over the course of one chosen seven day span of time!

-Why Marxolor?

Because I love them! I love writing and drawing and thinking about them and I love seeing other people do the same! Whether they're being boyfriends OR buddies, it makes my day feel that much better to see these two beloved characters interacting together!

They've got a lot in common in-game and out; they're frequently paired together in official merch despite zero on-screen interactions; they look good together; they can be used for silly fluff and angst in equal measure; and they're implied to know each other but are not related in any way + though neither has any canon age, their similar backgrounds and schemes mean that they're very naturally HC'd as being in the same age range (either as prank-loving, kinda childish adults or didn't-look-before-they-leapt power-hungry teens.)

Though frequently cited as the second most popular Kirby ship, Marxolor haven't seen a lot of ~celebration~ among the fandom, which is a shame with how much enjoyment these two lovable, chaotic dorks have given us over the years! So that's why, starting this year, we're having an official Kirby fandom Marxolor Week!

-What do we do?

In a few days, I will be posting a list of "prompts" or thematic ideas and suggestions. You have from now till when Marxolor Week starts (and after, if you're too busy) to create some form of "content" that A) prominently features the relationship between Marx and Magolor and B) relates back to the prompt in some way!

As long as its SFW (though light innuendo is allowed) there's no real limit on what that kind of content that can be! You can draw fanart! You can write fanfic! You can make a music playlist or write headcanons / imagines relating to the prompt! You can make an animation or write fan song lyrics / make a music track! You can make traditional art or some kind of arts and crafts project! If you've got plushies/figures you can stage a thematic photo of them!

We only ask that if you choose to submit a meme, in addition to relating back to the prompt in some way, you MUST put in more effort than just writing "Marx" and "Magolor" on it. EX: Try to draw the two of them in the situation portrayed in the meme instead. It's okay! This isn't a competition, and no one is judging you on quality!

Pataphysical Interpretation of the Noosphere - a small SCP Foundation ramble/thought exercise

If you’ve delved deep into the articles and pages of the SCP Wiki, you are most likely familiar with several concepts that have been created as the site progressed and are the basis of a more modern way interactions with the anomalous are presented in various stories and articles. Before, anomalies were presented from the viewpoint of the Foundation’s baseline science. Now, the Foundation has created new anomalous sciences and terminology to properly understand anomalies and their interactions. Akiva radiation, thaumaturgy, EVE etc.

One of these new terminology is the noosphere. Now the noosphere is not a strictly SCP-exclusive concept. It was created by a biogeochemist and a priest/philosopher to describe what they called “the planetary sphere of reason”. In the SCP Wiki, the concept was introduced through the Antimemetics Division set of series: being used in the way it is now first in SCP-2111 and becoming integral to later interpretations of SCP-3125. So what exactly is the Noosphere? There are a lot of answers but SCP-6659, has in my opinion, the most clear cut answer: the Noosphere is a plane of existence embodying abstract human thought. Most of the time it seems less to be psychological in nature and rather more metaphysical in nature relating to memetics and antimemetics. It is inhabited by various constructs and concepts, often memetic in nature with some being embodied and personified through deities, manifestations and totems.

Dialing back a bit here, pataphysics is another anomalous science-related term. It refers to an anomalous science that focuses primarily on the fictionality of the SCP universe from the perspective of its characters, often it focuses on stuff such as narrative layers as well as components of narratives and how they emerge in a scientific presentation from the perspective of those within the narrative. Usually, it is essentially metafiction.

What this ramble is about, and this is just my interpretation mind you (there is no correct interpretation or headcanon to the SCPverse), is a way in which these two concepts intercept.

Memes are often considered base units of culture or information, the same way genes are base units of biological information. But there exist other base units of information within other disciplines. Particularly, narremes which are the base unit of narratives.

If the noopshere is the realm of memetic constructs and concepts such as pain, chaos or life and it exists within a universe that is in fact a narrative then what if the noosphere is a reflection of that narrative’s conceptual abstract state?

To communicate this idea more clearly: narratives and stories often have themes which are usually related to concepts and ideas. These can be represented in the story through characters, themes, events, groups etc.

In Chaos Theory (SCP-6747), we learn about pataphysical particles and how they link and interact together to create narratives and as such. What if the noosphere is a medium for thematic narratives to emerge by taking abstract ideas and concepts and constructing narratives out of them, influencing the people and settings in them.

In this interpretation, the noosphere could be seen as an abstraction of the narrative. A conceptual, lesser form of it.

This entire ramble was just formed from my weird thoughts and I could’ve definitely misinterpreted a lot of things I’ve read from articles but hey you win some, you lose some. I mainly just wanted to make this so I could look at it later if I ever wanted inspiration for my own stories

Queer identity is not just an aesthetic.

It doesn't exist separate from the lived reality of people's bodies, nor from the lived experience of sexual desire and contact.

Top surgery scars are healed wounds, not pretty tattoos. I'm all for romanticizing the transformation in art, draw them however you like, but then don't turn around and call people gross for talking about the realities of their own surgery recovery, including botched procedures, pain, or ugly scarring.

Queer sexuality is a lived experience of sexual attraction (or, yes, the lack thereof), not just brightly colored flags and thematic lighting. Like, sure, have fun with it, but... maybe don't go around plastering LGBTQ flags over all your fave characters and then start yelling about perverts when people talk about shipping them or write/draw smut featuring them.

Representation that only allows for aesthetic is not representation, it is censorship.

Sex is not gross. Bodies are not gross. Go outside. Touch grass.

If you draw and write and headcanon and cheerily meme about queer characters and then climb on your soapbox against any representation that is more physical than a flag and some sanitized suggestion, you are a hypocrite.

And no, I don't care about how sex-repulsed or triggered by body stuff you may personally be. No one is obliging you to consume content you don't like. But if you cannot accept that to be queer in the world is an intrinsically physical and sexual experience for many, and that representing that is not bad just because you don't like it, you don't get to play here.

👗 for a clothes-themed headcanon

For this ask I'd rather give some background instead of a little story like I've done with the others. Though I might do a story anyway. I want to talk about Ibis' coats.

Ibis has been wearing coats (or whatever you might call them) for a looong time. In general, he dresses in sweaters or just long sleeves, but he really likes coats. I could get into the character development reasons, or my inspo reasons, but this is not what I want to focus on. I want to expand on the fact that they're now enchanted.

When he was 12 he begun feeling the heat more. Sure, he could just use the sunscreen potion like everyone else in the family does, OR he could get creative. He got creative. Not all, but most of his coats since have been enchanted to protect him from the sun.

Later on he's added enchantments to his favorite coats like infintely expanding the capacity of the pockets, extra pockets, hidden pockets, and so on. He can (and sometimes does) travel by just wearing his coat and shoving everything in it. Security screening in airports doesn't detect the contents of his magical pockets.
