For Day 2 of My Coining Event
2- a term inspired by Queer history (up for interpretation)
Symbolism and History:
Inspiration for term: taken from these styles of old signs
Pink triangle: history of the triangle and its reclamation as a Queer symbol (recommended read if you don't yet know!) /// used in my flag to symbolize LGBTQ+ members.
Indigo triangle: Indigo is used as an homage to Gilbert Baker's pride flag, where he used indigo to represent harmony /// used in my flag to represent harmony between these identities and people
Anyone may use my terms! My terms are free to be posted anywhere (wikis, personal term collections, etc.) with or without credit!

WAIT, an addendum:
If Brock admits any other form of attraction outside of pure American Boy straightness maybe, just maybe, he would have to deal with his liking Hunter juuuust a lil bit in the romantic sense, which would open a whole brand new can of worms he knows he’s not equipped to deal with.
Kind of disagree with this writing moment

At this point Brock doesn't really.....hrm. have a good? Reason to be so chilly towards Rusty. Sure frustrated and aggravated bc he thought he had to save Rusty but turned out to be anticlimactic but like. The writing is inconsistent with s1/s2 and with the writing in BUDDY System. I don't think Brock would have like, fully comforted Doc or give him a real hug, but I feel like it would have been smoother for Brock to put one arm around him and try to lead him out to get dressed and then Rusty would turn out of his arm and go to look out the window when saying how Killinger flew away. Maybe my shipping goggles are strapped on a little tight, but idk! This scene has always irked me for being kind of out of character but not so much that other people thinks it's ooc

sometimes I feel like some queer people just reinvented more binary norms to ascribe to. yk? like. I see conversations fairly often where someone’s like “I feel this way and I say I’m (x) gender” and then there’s a whole comment section about “that experience you described isn’t (x) gender, it’s (y) gender by definition” and like. I feel like we lost the plot
the point of creating new labels isn’t actually creating new boxes to fit people in, the *point* is to make someone more comfortable. If someone’s feels like they have multiple genders at once, but they want to call themselves nonbinary instead of bigender because that's what makes them happiest, that’s the whole point of creating new labels in the first place. At its core, the queer movement is supposed to encompass do what makes you feel good. So, do what makes you feel good.
I feel like a lot of people are acting on the ideology of queerness without actually realizing the idea in your brain that being queer is about finding self expression that fulfills you. When you don’t, it comes out hollow, and it affects your activism. Queer labels aren’t rigid barriers, and you don’t have a right to say anyone else can or cannot identify with literally anything they want. The whole point is that, to exist as a human is nonlinear and nebulous, and queerness as an ideology is based around allowing for expression of a diverse, nuanced experience.

we as a queer community don't talk enough about the reality that some people are forcibly outed.
i was forcibly outed and it is jarring and uncomfortable and i wasn't ready for it. it's emotionally violating, and you cannot ever go back into the closet.
the reality is, some people are just not safe, just not trustworthy, and don't actually value your well-being.
it shapes your experience in the world, especially for a young child to learn that someone they thought was trustworthy is not actually willing to protect them. it sets up the basis for fear, and denial, and repression. it cements in someone's brain that no one is to be trusted with your identity, and that you are somehow wrong.
it's never a good thing to tell someone to repress their identity, but the reality is that some people do not have queer safety in their minds. some people do not care.

i need you all to be normal about people deciding they don't want to explore their identities. we're not inherently repressing anything, and we're not lost opportunities for self-fulfillment and finding community. maybe some people are, but we are allowed to decide we're satisfied and digging deeper isn't what we want, and we're valid for it. it is our choice. please stop treating us like we're naive and gonna regret it
#lgbtqia#discourse#queer identity#sorry im a little annoyed#me deciding i don't need to know the nuances of my gender identity is not me losing anything!#i have community with the people who ALSO don't need to know!#and it's super condescending to be like...'but if you do that...it's gonna keep haunting you...'#I DIDN'T SAY IT WAS HAUNTING ME#BECAUSE IT ISN'T#don't talk down to me for deciding i'm okay not pushing#doesn't make me less queer or repressed#it means right now i don't need to know more#could that change? of course!#but it's fine if it never does

Chronic Queer
[Pt: Chronic Queer end pt]
Chronic Queer - a person who makes their queerness central to their identity! This may be to fight/contest cisalloheteronormativity and stereotypes, as well as embracing one's identity and community with passion and love.
For Day 1 of My Coining Event!
1- a term based off of your blog's aesthetic / theme, in some way!
Symbolism:
The colors are adjusted Queer flag colors, as well as magenta, which is used to symbolize love, passion, and expression.
The chevron triangles are used to represent and symbolize unity and progressive views of identity and community. It also represents the defiance of the status quo and alignment with non-conformity.
The infinity sign represents the infinite aspects of queerness as well as queer joy in abundance. The flower that it is inside represents blooming and growing to learn to embrace yourself.
Any of our terms may be added to wikis! @k2god @making-gender @yellow-computer-mouse @radiomogai

I love queer people who define themselves in unconventional ways. I love queer people who define themselves very specifically. I love queer people who refuse to define themselves at all. I love queer people who feel their definition of self has changed and will continue to do so. I love queer people who don’t know how to explain their identity, whether they want to or not. I love queer people who love other queer people and support their journeys no matter how different from their own.

A cis bisexual of my acquaintance recently announced that in response to the erasure of the -TQI from all LGBTQI references on US government websites, she will not be accepting her assignment as a temporarily-acceptable bisexual.
She will be identifying solely as queer. Queer as in fuck you. Queer as in the details are none of your business. Queer as in first they came for the trans folks and the whole community stood up. Queer as in all of us, together.
I'm thinking about how I (another cis bisexual) will be identifying in the coming years. "Queer" has always been part of my identity. and... she's got a damn good point. This is the time to lean into the solidarity that has long been integral to queerness as a concept.
To anyone out there who needs to hear it today: yes, queer has also been a slur. So have dyke, fag, witch, bitch, and many more. It's up to us what kind of power we want these words to hold. We can shudder and refuse to speak or hear them. Or we can grasp them and mold them into our own swords and shields.
I know I'd rather take a weapon out of my enemy's hand and make it my own. Wouldn't you?

Hey guys so. Not to open an intricate and complex debate but my therapist is being really insistent that I give her a definition of what being a (trans) man means to me and differentiates it from being for ex. a cis woman. I am not allowed to bring my body dysphoria into the equation and the answer must be related to my social role as a man.
Now here's the problem: I've deconstructed gender far too much to be able to give anything resembling a (satisfying) definition of a man, despite still identifying as one very definitely.
This is actually putting my access to hrt on hold so uh I've got to. Umm figure it out somehow.
Does anyone who likes to think of complicated things have any insight that might help me in my journey to define what a man is and what being a man means to me socially and outside of my desired body?
Please... please help me out on this one.
