SO MANY i read too much fic. here are some!

canon compliant:

The Yunmeng Accords (series) by cafecliche. Featuring a gradual Yunmeng bros reconciliation and lots of contributions from the juniors.

Vagabond by xantissa. Sad and tricky case fic that helps Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian come together.

on the unfortunate termination of your proposal by Tepre. Lovely and sweet, grown-up Lan Sizhui and Jin Ling come to terms with their feelings.

pluck the stars by exoscopy. TGCF fusion (you don't need to have read it) that is post-canon canon, as far as I'm concerned.

Gathered Herbs & Sweet Grasses by hansbekhart. Lan Sizhui's life.

canon AU: Everyone Lives (With Knives) series by tucuxi. Pretty much what it says on the tin. One of the rare survival AUs that doesn't make everything simple and easy.

from the other side of sorrow by Sour_Idealist. Incredible and detailed AU that becomes an (almost) everybody lives AU.

Last Of Our Kind by Shiome. Lan Xichen lets Meng Yao escape to Dongying, but there are complications.

the weakness of falling in love by roquen. Jin Guangyao doesn't marry Qin Su, which changes a lot.

modern AU:

through a window softly by impossibletruths. Wei Wuxian flirts via duet with an unseen musician in his building.

so little time and i'm way off track by defractum. Wei Ying and Lan Zhan are reunited to hunt down a fake Yiling Wei sect. Also, they're lesbians.

The Greatest Catch (meryao) (series) by shiome. Meng Yao is a mermaid. It's great.

down by the water by astrolesbian. Amazing atmosphere of life in a small beach town. Wangxian, of course.

a study of the urban fridge deer by roquen. Meng Yao rescues Lan Xichen in modern day London.

The Simplest Way Forward by harriet_vane. I link this constantly but it's my go-to comfort fic, so. Wangxian get fake(?) married to raise A-Yuan.

The Right to Care by travelingneuritis. Lan Wangji is a musician, Wei Wuxian is a babysitter who is worried about his charge. It takes them a long time to work things out.

other AU:

midnight river by surething. Sci fi AU with lesbian wangxian, in which Wei Wuxian is an AI. Just go with it!!

And naturally (you probs know who I am wink nudge) I am here to tell you I think a lot about qijiu and eggies and breeding kink and YQY being a big boi after reading a xiyao fic where lxc had to help massage eggs out of meryao, but also, nesting and tail twining lord let them have their little baby fish

QIJIU BREEDING KINK /SOBS my instinct with breeding kink is to make it toxic but tbh qijiu deserves some not-fucked-up pregnancy-nesting tropes ;; gimme like, a minor plot where SJ spitefully tells YQY they're not his babies but YQY still very much loves and takes care of him and of course, they are his babies...I learned recently that some shark species can store sperm inside them and impregnate themselves at more opportune times if need be...qijiu had one fling years and years ago but only now is SJ pregnant by choice...

I started listening to podfics while I draw or try to fall asleep. Which inspired me to also record podfics. It has been very enjoyable. 🥰 ...However, I will admit that I enjoy the recording process more than the *sharing* that comes in the end because I am still so new to this and I am feeling kinda shy about my inexperience ... 👉🏽👈🏽

He wears rags and gold, and walks unhindered by even the strongest barriers. He stops for nothing, talks to no-one. When he crosses the gentian meadow he does not bend the flowers, and when snow covers the mountain he does not leave footprints into the soil.

Simple exorcisms do not get rid of it, and the Sect Leader has forbidden further attempts. 

The disciples wonder if it will ever reach the one he is seeking and finally go away. They started following it when they spot it drifting across the forest, each of them hoping to be the one to witness the day it does. What a story it would be!

But every time, when the ghost puts its hand on the door of the little cottage, he vanishes without a trace.

Lan Xichen has known about the painting for a long time. ("Apocryphal", modern AU oneshot, that "meeting in front of a painting depicting you in a past life" prompt)

Lan Xichen had always thought himself simply too busy for romantic entanglement. ("Fish Husbandry", meryao egg sequel, romcom and horny!!!)

Fpr the question game thing, can I request your answer to question 19 with the Merman Meng Yao fic?

19. If you wrote a spin-off of [insert fic], what would it involve?

I have considered a few different things in the past, but never had the time to pursue them! One idea was to have long lost clutch-mate Xue Yang barge in to create chaos (but he’d be too dangerous for the eggs, let’s be real… and I’m not particularly interested in writing lots of XY.)

Another was to have Huaisang babysit the carnivorous Ponyo-style tadpoles that will hatch from those ;) note that he cannot swim, still…

The other idea was just pwp (i.e. the actual baby making) and I really don’t have the stamina for that!

A few commenters asked for a wangxian spin-off/backstory - but as much as I enjoyed writing Octoying, I don’t have any spoons for wangxian-centric fics. (So the wangxian plot bunny is up for adoption, hmu 🐙)
