Want to see a brand new omori au? One that is focused on everybody’s favourite little cat going on a grand adventure? Well have I got the au for you!

Hi! So I recently made an omori au called mewos adventures! It’s a silly little au where mewo is the main character! Mewo runs away from whitespace one day to explore the rest of headspace. I made a FAQ post for it for extra info

I’ve seen so many wonderful omori aus on here, so I thought I’d join in with the fun! I’ve always wanted to run an ask blog and this is my first time doing so. I honestly hope it goes well because I’m so excited about this au hejdidoe

As soon as the first part is drawn and posted asks will be opened! If you want to know what a cats thoughts are I recommend asking mewo a question! Other headspace characters are definitely going to appear in the blog (like Spaceboy, sweetheart, etc). So they’ll be available for asks at one point as well :)

Trees are Watching

Yes! I’m sure of it now. The trees here... every so often they blink. It’s so horrifying seeing the eyes of these weird trees. Also it seems we have a little companion on our journey. I found Mewo stuck in one of these weird trees and managed to get him down with a little coercing. I’m kinda glad to have him with me. I hope he doesn’t get himself hurt. Right now he seems to be smelling something. I’ll follow him to see what he finds.

I have an idea for an Omari Au

Instead of being a roleswap where Mari kills Sunny, it's like. Canon divergence.

So canon happens, Mari gets mad at Sunny for screwing up the song and throwing his violin down the stairs and Sunny accidentally pushes her. BUT! She doesn't land on the violin.

Basil still took photos and is still like "omg you killed Mari quick let's do an overcomplicated plan where we pretend she hung herself" and Sunny still goes along with it. But while they're setting up the noose, Mari wakes up.

She still got a massive bang on the head, but she didn't land on the violin so it wasn't fatal. She sees Sunny and Basil carrying her but she doesn't really know whats going on so she just mumbles their names. The two boys fucking PANIC and drop her and lowkey have breakdowns over how she isn't dead and oh my god we nearly actually killed her.

They drop Mari and Sunny tells Basil to go back inside and call an ambulance while he watches Mari, who in the meantime went unconcious again. Sunny sees the noose, still swinging there and he feels nothing but guilt over what happened.

On the spur of the moment, he decides he should punish himself. After all, he nearly killed his perfect older sister who did nothing but love him unconditionally. He hates himself.

He wonders what it would have felt like for her, and before he's processed what he's doing he's stepped up on a box and put his head through the noose.

He doesn't actualy mean to kill himself, but he slips off the box and the noose does its job. Mari comes to again, and what she sees of Sunny's hanging body from her angle on the ground becomes her Something.

When Basil sees what happened, he fucking skedaddles in panic. He has no idea what to do. So he does nothing.

Eventually the ambulance arrives and takes Mari and Sunny away.

Mari spends the three years Sunny spend hiding in canon in a coma. She had dreamspace explained to her enough by Sunny, and as the last things she saw were her brother, dreamspace kind of takes over her mind.

She still plays the role she did in canon: supporting from her picnic rug while the others go on adventures. In canon, Mari tries to make Sunny forgive himself, and in this Sunny is trying to make sure Mari stays oblivious to what happened as she doesn't remember and hate him.

However, Mari wakes up in the real world after the three years and that's where things start Occuring.

I haven't actually beaten the game yet myself (my puted deleted my progress when I was in Sweethearts Castle and I haven't felt like putting in another 6 hours since) but when I do (or watch a playthrough) I can develop further.

The dream before she wakes up is the same as canon, except as it's from Mari's picnicy POV the player doesn't see much. It's kind of similar to White Space in canon, Mari just roams between a toy piano, a computer and Mewo and there's a few cutscenes where she wonders why she's confined to the Picnic. Basil disappears (she sees this in like a vision sort of thing) and then she wakes up! Gasp!

She wanders her room in the hospital for a while, picks up an oversized syringe and even heads out into the corridor, but she's stopped by a nurse and she falls unconscious again.

Mari is still stuck at the Picnic back in the dream, saying nothing and smiling while her friends and Sunny talk (yeah he gets to talk here lol) about how they're going to help Sunny surpass his fear of heights, and then she's left alone again.

In this, whenever the party aproach a canon save point, the Picnic blanket crumples up with Mari and her things inside it, and it's dragged through a tunnel of sorts before popping out at the save point.

So on her second night, she decides to use her syringe to cut through the blanket and she does. She holds onto Mewo and the basket so while the blanket rolls off, she still has the cat and the ability to save her progress.

I'm not entirely sure what goes on from this point, but it likely involves Mari going on her oen adventures in these mysterious areas below the Headspace, maybe even having Stranger join her party at some point so they help each other figure out what's going on.

At the end of every night, Mari emerges from the tunnels and is found by her worried friends who take her back to the playground and she wakes up

The secon time Mari wakes up, Hero visits her in hospital where Kel did in canon, and he offers to sneak her out so she can see everyone. Really he's just desperate to talk to her again, and she isn't saying anything now and he thinks going outside may help. I'm thinking maybe he started interning at the hospital over the summer if he still was forced to go to medical school, and so knows how to sneak her in and out.

Like I said, not sure what happens from here but Basil feels even more guilty from contributing both to a death and a serious accident, Aubrey hasn't dyed her hair yet (she's waiting for Mari to wake up first) and Mari still doesn't say anything. She's amnesiac to be fair, and only remembers who Hero is from her dreams.

This whole au thing was inspired by me thinking about Mari as a character. We barely know anything about her other than that she was the perfect sister/girlfriend/mother figure to everyone. Maybe that's why she was a perfectionist. She was seen to be so perfect all the time and felt pressured to act that way.

Sunny's entire life revolved around her, they always spent time together and she's the reason he had friends in the first place. But what if Mari wasn't 100% fine with this? She loved her brother, sure, but maybe she just wanted something that was just hers. Not her boyfriend's, not Aubrey, Basil or Kel's and not even Sunny's.

Thus, the piano, and subsequently the recital. She got to be on her own for five minutes every day doing something she enjoyed (...to an extent, she got very frustrated when she fucked up) while her parents were forced to actually pay attention to Sunny for a while.

It's implied they were quite neglectful (didn't see Sunny drowning that one time, was away from the house long enough that the stairs and hanging incident went off without a hitch) and I'm sure this only added to Sunny's clingyness to Mari.

Which was why he got so upset that he couldn't spend time with her every second of every day when she started up with the piano. I'm not villainising him, obviously he was just a kid with neglectful parents, but I am saying that maybe he overreacted a little. Mari couldn't have been spending hours and hours at the piano everyday and even if she was he still had his other friends like right there, and he'd have more time with her after the recital.

So of course when he got upset and their friends started pointing it out Mari was all but obliged to include him somehow. Thus, the violin. And, perhaps, just a little resentment on Mari's end.

The violin that Sunny kept missing notes on. Mari was better at the song because she had practiced for longer, but it was easy to forget this when it kept happening. Over. And over. And over. And...

Eventually the resentment built up. Sunny was going to ruin her performance, the one she had put so much effort into practicing. Was he even trying?!

And so they argued, the violin was thrown, Mari shoved Sunny and he shoved back and–

We all know what happened.

So yeah the au idea came from my long long train of thought. Hope this ramble makes sense lol.

Oh yeah I'm thinking I might call this au like Kyojakuna (infirm), Konsui jōtai (comatose) Yowai (fragile, frail) or some variant bc Mari isn't a Hikikomori she's literally just stuck in hospital lol.

What's next?

Well, I have to make the bracket itself. As you can see, there's a bit more cats than I was intending to have, which means that certain polls in round 1 will have more than just two options. I can already tell you that a lot of the cats from the same fandoms are going to be eliminated in round one. That's why I kept them in. I'm planning on making up the first round match ups based heavily on the similarities between cats and the fandoms they're from. ALSO as you've probably noticed, some cats come in a bundle. That's because they're a family. I'm not doing this to Kitty Softpaws and Puss (at least YET), because even though they also get married in the end, there's a huge gap in their submission numbers. If you're wondering, how big, you may want to know that up to Tigger from Winnie the Pooh (that is, almost the entire first pic) are the cats that got 2+ submissions, in their order of popularity.

Next step - brackets!!! I want to do this well and I hope I don't underestimate certain fandoms!!!

CHICO

A quiet young man who wanders around HEADSPACE, CHICO is always looking for a new adventure. Despite his usual stoic face, he’s known to be quite a prankster, AUBREY often being in the receiving end of his antics. Impulsive and quick to take action, he is rather careless and often ends up in trouble, with big brother HERO having to take care of him and the rest of the group. Nevertheless, he will persist… for his friends’ sake.

A talented young painter, SUNNY can often be found painting in NEIGHBOR’S ROOM alongside MEWO. Although he’s definitely skilled in the arts, he insists he still has a long way ahead of him to become as talented as his sister MARI, often feeling frustrated at his ‘lack of progress’. Regardless, if SUNNY’S confident in one thing, that’s his battling SKILLS, as he’s ready to charge in against any foe at any time!

AUBREY

Always full of energy, AUBREY is always happy to tag along and explore HEADSPACE with her friends! After finding her love for softball, AUBREY joined HEADSPACE’S local team, taking her role so seriously that she’ll always practice her swing when she’s not exploring with the others. Even if she and CHICO butt heads with each other, she will always lend him a helping hand, smashing anyone who tries to block their way.

A single blow is more than enough to send any foes flying!

BASIL

A rather timid individual, BASIL prefers to tend to his flowers rather than roam around HEADSPACE, though he always ends up being dragged into his friends’ adventures. BASIL doesn’t mind, however, ready to take pictures of every new place -or foe!- they come across with. Gentle and usually the voice of reason among his friends, he will always take care of those he holds dear.

MARI

Everyone’s favorite older sister, MARI is more than happy to take care of her friends alongside HERO, patiently waiting for them in one of the various picnics all around HEADSPACE. If she’s not helping HERO, you should be able to find her at the TREEHOUSE, the soft melody coming from her piano often being what gives her location away. A perfectionist to the core, MARI will always make sure your stay at HEADSPACE is everything you hoped for!

WEAPON: BATON

An essential tool for a conductor! At least that’s what MARI says.

HERO

The oldest and the most charming out of them all, HERO prefers staying out of the line of action, instead making some delicious SNACKS for when his friends come back from exploring. You’ll often find him talking with the residents of HEADSPACE, always willing to help them in whatever they might need, which has earned him quite the stellar reputation. If you ever feel lost, don’t hesitate to reach out to HERO, he’ll always help you find the way back home!

WEAPON: CHEF’S KNIFE

Really sharp. It’s best to leave it in HERO’S capable hands.

(I’m leaving some fun facts regarding the designs below, so keep reading if you’re interested!)

CHICO

The pattern on his shirt is similar to a tire mark.

He’s clumsy and trips over, so he usually has band-aids and scratches.

HECTOR (the rock) FLIP-FLOPS!

SUNNY

Yes, he has his sweater tied up around his apron.

He doesn’t like wearing shoes so he walks around with his socks. They have little toe beans!

The beret was a gift from MARI.

AUBREY

Her ribbon resembles bunny ears.

She loves stickers and actively looks for them whenever she goes exploring. She likes putting them in her bat.

She wears shorts under her skirt. She just likes looking fashionable.

BASIL

He wears an overall although you can’t really notice because of his sweater.

He sew the patches in his overall himself! The bunny one was a gift from AUBREY.

His little tie resembles a hand shovel. His sweater’s design also looks a bit like a flower!He’ll take it off when taking care of his plants.

MARI

Her shirt is based on a picnic blanket! Although she appears to be perfect, sometimes MARI can forget little things, like tucking in her shirt every once in a while.

The lines at the bottom of her skirt represent staves (the lines in music sheets in which you write the notes).

Her hair ties are different colored to resemble piano tiles.

HERO

Pants because he wants to be comfy when cleaning. They have big pockets to store everything you might need.

Okay more OmorOff, here's a funny doodle I did and some and some sweet sweet lore

Okay so here's a summary of the story I've thought of so far!!!

So it starts with Omori waking up in an abyss, he doesn't know who or where he is. Not long after he sees a room with a boy in it, that boy being Sunny.

Sunny notices Omori and starts talking to him, they can't touch each other and simply fade through each other like a vision. As they speak it's clearly obvious that Sunny is upset and ill, he wears a long white gown and slippers, his eyes are sunken and his skin a sickly pale. Omori and Sunny become friends and Sunny asks Omori to come save him from wherever he is, Omori basically just being born and seeing Sunny as his best friend gladly accepts and completely agrees to save him.

After this conversation Omori finds himself in Zone 0 (White Space) with a new found purpose, save Sunny and purify the world. He meets Mewo who takes the place of The Judge/Stranger by aiding Omori in combating the spirits which have suddenly invaded this world and overall accompanying him through his journey.

Along the way they meet a charismatic and smooth talking business man who calls himself Hero, a hyperactive cheery boy called Kel, a pissed off over worked girl called Aubrey and an erratic and paranoid gardener who goes by Basil.

Oh yeah and there's the big psychotic murder cat who tortures their people in a manic obsession of making them happy, the giant whale which has basically imploded and now lives as a half dead parasite living off their entire Zone while slowly melting and mutating into a horrible flesh monster in a desperate attempt to survive and the octopus lady who ended up learning so much forbidden knowledge it drove her and all her people completely insane! Like completely insane! Like her and all her people are in unimaginable agony! Yay the horrors!!!

And don't forget the horrifying mangled spirits! There are A LOT of them and they need purifying!

And at the end of it all there's a being that everyone is careful to mention by name. Mari. The Guardian angel. Whom everyone seems to answer to. Not much is known about them other than god forbid you get on their bad side...

So yeah a lot of wacky fun adventures to be had :)))

Watch these silly characters travel across a world on the brink of collapse and going completely insane while being invaded by horrifying spectral beings which are hellbent on killing everyone they come across.

Is this world real? Is it all another version of headspace??? What the hell is going on?????

This story honestly like the original Off is probably going to be kinda open ended, so this world could totally exist on its own. Or it could just all be inside Sunny's head. Both work with the story I'm probably going to tell!

I'm going to try my best to keep it close to Off while still being its own story because I'm not a fan of just blatantly copying Off's story. There will still be a lot of parallels and sometimes just character swaps but I'll try my best to stay original. Like I'm using the skeleton of Off and building a different world around it.

A lot will probably change because honestly the core story is basically the same, and sure it could work fine but it just feels wrong of me to do it. I feel like I'm just copying Off, sure I have a lot of cool ideas but a lots the same.

Anyway if you've read this far WOW I'm impressed! I hope I've at least interested you and if you are interested feel free to share your thoughts! I seriously would love to hear what people think about this and give some criticism!

I have the hc that Mewo had to get put down after having an unfortunate encounter with a car but before that she actually would go on adventures with the stray cats around Faraway. Do you think the cats roleplayed the Warriors series.

When Mari's awake, does Sunny sometimes put himself in danger on purpose to distract Hikkiko from whatever Mari's doing?

Also Since Hikkiko doesn't feel pain, does Sunny keep pepper spray to defend himself?

If so I imagine one time he accidentally used it on her when she accidentally jump scared him.

For the first one, I wouldn't say he does it on purpose! But yes, he does end up putting himself in danger, and while it's worrisome for the others, this does give Sunny an advantage over Hikkiko when distracting her.

Not only that, but those specific times are also when Mari's control on Headspace starts to loosen, which is why it's easy for danger to heighten and for any restraints put on the Headspace counterparts to disappear. Hikkiko tries her best to resolve any problems during the time Mari is gone, and if she fails? Well, hey, more adventures, right? Ahahaha!

As for the second, Sunny does have various gadgets for self-defense that are very carefully hidden or disguised as a harmless object. He doesn't use it on Hikkiko though, since he tends to be very aware of her presence at all times-- so he isn't as easily scared by her than the others around him. So long as he has pockets or a backpack, he carries around those items if he ever finds himself in a different place of Headspace, though there are times were anomalies happen and his items are erased. But that's ok, because he has Mewo with him!

The Intruder

I woke back up in white space to a ghastly sight. A shadowy silhouette seemed to have penetrated my comfort zone. A creature calling themselves stranger. Mewo tried to scratch at this stranger however his paw went right through it.  “Come on Dreamer. We need to go forward.” 

The being would try his best to coax me into exiting head space. What were its goals? I had no idea. But I didn’t like it none the less. I’m going to venture beyond white space again. But not because this stranger told me to. I’m simply curious is all.

Thought more about the lil fairytale curse au and so far only got some for Sunny, Mari, and Omori (the usual pls i love the siblings a lot).

The AU is still set in modern world but fantasy stuff is added. Honestly need to brush up on my fairytales too.

Sunny, Mari, and Omori are siblings! Sunny and Omori are twins. Though they got separated when an Event happened which caused the curses.

Also thinking about how in this AU, it's similar with Kitsune Omori AU where the three moved to Faraway Town much later. So basically the siblings haven't met the others when they all got cursed. (Rethinking if everyone will have curses or some won't though)

Sunny found himself in a forest somewhere in the city with Sleeping Beauty curse. Basically, he is now always listless and sleepy, found and taken care by 3 fairies. Sunny's curse let's him create and have adventures in his own lil dreamworld but sleep too deeply and he won't ever wake up anymore unless the curse is broken.

Abbi is always able to wake him up before that though, but cuz of the curse trying to take effect, the 3 always gotta be nearby otherwise Sunny will just fall asleep anywhere. He misses his siblings too and his curse allows him to visit them through dreams if they all fell asleep around the same time! One reason why he doesn't seem to want to leave the forest and also since he doesn't know where Mari and Omori are.

Omori found himself under water with the Little Mermaid curse. He was found by Humphrey and BYC, they're the ones that helped him get accustomed to life underwater. Omori can still turn into a human when on land but there's just two problems.

He loses his voice, not as huge of a problem, and each step he takes is painful, which is a very big problem (referencing the og tragic story) So Omori just sticks to the water while trying to figure out a way to find his siblings.

Mari found herself at the hangout spot's lake as a swan! Mewo was somehow with her and she can even understand her now too, although only when she's a swan. Mari has the Swan Lake curse, just like in the story, she turns into a human only when the moon's reflection hits the water of the lake and turns back as a swan when the reflection vanishes.

Mari isn't stuck in one lake though, if she moves to another lake then that lake will be the new basis for the curse's effect! She's basically the only one of the three that actively moves around with Mewo following behind her. She'll fly about as a swan and find a lake to settle on and rest then continue her search at night again as a human.
