Before the insects have made their claim

a/n. wrote this as an exercise to get me back into writing. i just recently watched Edens Zero and i was intrigued by the robots’ internal conflict of their “humanity” so here’s an attempt to flesh out chapter 1 and michael’s character from the manga. im not gonna include every scene (esp the fight scene i suck at it) but im adding on the gaps of the manga chapter. hope u enjoy <3
~
“Ah, my arm broke again.”
Michael had just woken up from his slumber and began to survey his surroundings. He wonders if the screws might have been too loose after its last tinkering before dismissively sighing it off.
Michael is no stranger to this kind of incident that he does not bother to pick up his arm to attach back this time. It comes to harass the inhabitants of planet Granbell one to five times a week, the occurrence growing more frequent as time pass by. It is a constant unwanted reminder that they had long overstayed their welcome, now free to lay their bodies to rest.
The right arm lies in his bed, as if mocking his life degrading each day of old age. Old age? No, that’s too humanistic of a condition to apply to a mere robot.
One can count the time a robot has been conscious from its launching until it’s disabled, but robots don’t age. Not in a traditional sense. Their consciousness is saved through data, transferable to another host if needed be. Death doesn’t come easily to them. But to battery-reliant ones nearing their expiry end, dwelling on a human-abandoned planet—its visit is undeniably inevitable.
Nevertheless, Michael prefers to think of it that way. It is a concept his dear friend would find easier to comprehend. He finds the greatest joys in life revolving around making a certain human on their planet happy. And that involves anything human-related. This complicity of an excuse allows him to wish more freely for a human heart.
Thus, it was not a slumber he had woken up from, but a pretense of a human sleep. A desperate effort to save whatever little energy is left to last the machines more days to welcome.
He grabs the stool beside his bed, his left arm supporting his weight, trying to get up while struggling to balance his body like he had just woken up from a coma. He moved his one foot right after the other, slowly pacing towards a mirror. It was not vanity that humans obsess over that he’s concerned with—not the absence of his right arm, nor the rust and dents displaying on his frame.
Small cogs spin slowly inside his head to form an inverted arch on his mouth, imitating a human muscle forming a smile. It was one of the few visible things that permitted him to show a human expressiveness within the limits of his being. A treasure that further fuels his drive to persevere.
Michael thought himself indifferent to owing favors. As a robot, his program instructs him to abide by a “give and take” principle. But when Shiki gives him a reason to live, what could possibly amount such worth to match what is received?
A loud voice called from outside, demanding attention from his perturbing pondering. “Michael!” shouted a young man, knocking rhythmically on his door. “Let’s hang out!”
One could never have a peaceful amble when accompanied by Shiki, so Michael quietly pleads his body to function well today.
▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️
Luck smiled today at Michael’s surreptitious attempt of hiding his slight predicament. Shiki hadn’t noticed, but his gait required more lifting and dragging than yesterday. Satisfied, Michael (tries to) merrily skips his way towards the town, leaving Shiki to his own devices.
He is so sure the ensuing days would be orchestrated based on Shiki’s whims. Smiling, his mind wanders off all things happy that come along with the young boy’s presence—all the laughter, all the adventures, all his dreams. But all the mind’s a labyrinth and his was a narrow path, the finish line always ending with the uncertainty afflicting Shiki’s future.
The quandary from this morning filled him once again with much apprehension. His forefinger anxiously tapping his thigh he once mimicked a human to calm his nerve did not help one bit. As luck would have it, his line of thought suddenly came to a halt when the growing loud chatter from a curious large crowd gathering at the entrance to the town diverts his attention. What’s going on?
“A guest!” Michael hears some bot exclaimed. Standing on his tiptoes behind the horde, he sees what could only be described as the unimaginable—a human girl and a talking cat.
Every machine present frenzy over the sight of their new guests after a long century of isolation—briskly lining up to greet them in a chorus. “Welcome! To Granbell, the Kingdom of Dreams!”
Michael, still astounded, watches from afar as his peers scramble their way to entertain the visitors, showcasing everything at their disposal: from venturing on quests and princess roleplaying, to a full-on festival invigorated with fireworks and cheers. He couldn’t hear when the guests began to talk, but he assumes they requested a repeat of the whole act as the robots reposition themselves at their designated starting points of the act.
The guests decided to replenish their energy at a nearby bar, introducing themselves as Rebecca and her companion cat, Happy. Unsuspecting of the many sneaky glances casting at the two, their lively conversation and earnest intentions reassures the machines of their nature. But still, the robots were no fools, they know better than to be quick at fully trusting humans.
The robots gazes at the pair exiting the bar, headed straight to the forest. They could only hope that they will get along with Shiki.
▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️
“Hello, traveler. I see that you have failed in your quest.” Mitra, the barmaid, says. She stands behind the counter, taking notice of the guests tromping back to the bar.
“Never mind that—I found a human! A human boy!” Rebecca exclaims. She slams her hands on the counter and adds, “I thought this place was all machines!”
“Ah, you mean Shiki,” Mitra replies kindly and as if on cue, the said boy appears behind her. Shiki ignores the shock Rebecca and Happy displayed and introduces them to all robots present at the bar. “…and this is my friend, Michael.”
“Oh, so you all know each other?” Rebecca asks.
“We’re all friends here.” Shiki enthusiastically replies, pulling Annie and Michael to give a side hug. “Friends!”
As if letting nature takes it course, they held a party once again to celebrate the guests’ arrival. Everyone feasted on Annie’s best dishes; Rebecca dressed up in a lovely dress of boysenberry color. While drunk in beer, everyone dances and sings songs in merriment.
Not too far from the celebration, in a castle that stood proudly tall of all the buildings in the planet, the ruler sits in his throne of gas leaking from the pipes attached to his body. A messenger robot kneels in front of him, delivering news of the guests’ arrival.
“I know,” the Lord Castellan grimly said. “That time has come.”
▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️
The party from before has long since mellowed down and night has finally come for Granbell. Shiki, Rebecca, Happy, and Michael, all find themselves eating dinner together. The humans on table dominates the conversation, easily warming up to each another.
Not long after, Shiki lets out a yawn, announcing his intentions to sleep before his head falls on the table unconsciously, breaking the table in half. Rebecca and Happy shrieks, expressing their concerns for the table.
“‘Why is a human living in a place like this’ is written all over your expression,” says Michael bluntly. Rebecca, mouth gaped open, thought out loud if he was a mind reader. Letting out a chuckle, he states that to be untrue. He continues on telling her about Shiki’s bizarre circumstances. About the demon king, and their attachment to him.
Mitra shows the guests where they will be staying but it would seem that Rebecca has another plan before going to bed. Crouched down, Rebecca stares intently at Shiki.
“What’s the matter Ms. Rebecca?” Michael asks from behind.
“Do you mind if I cut his hair?” Rebecca answers, her eyes glowing a sinister glint. “It has been bugging me.”
Rebecca and Happy retires to their quarters after giving Shiki a more polished haircut. Their conversation trails off in a distance, satisfied of the video contents they amassed, still unaware of the purposive stares they have been receiving all day.
The robots shared a knowing look, shuddering in excitement, agitation, and perhaps, fear. Lord Castellan had already informed the robots of the plan, the instructions passed off orally. A few robots carefully and quietly tuck Shiki in his bedroom, away from the clamorous group of robots ready to set their plan into motion.
Unbeknownst to everyone, Michael began harboring doubts of the human ethics their methods might entail. He isn’t keen on aggrieving a lady and her companion they would entrust Shiki on. But he swallows those doubts with a knowing sigh that nothing else can be done. He turns his head towards the direction of the young boy’s bedroom, probably drooling in his sleep. There’s no way Shiki would leave the town unattended. Not when everyone’s breaking each day.
Still, he couldn’t bring himself to do it. Michael stands still; his back pressing against the wall, softly wishing that it would swallow his figure in the background. To his relief, several robots volunteered to do the arduous task. They walk with stealthy footsteps, mindful of their metallic feet creaking loudly on the floor.
Some robots leave to the storage room to fetch a rope, while the others go outside to set up the wooden logs. Everyone looks shamefully excited to tie up innocent travelers despite their best intentions. And as much as Michael would like to reprimand them for showing no remorse, he keeps his lips sealed. After all, he was rowing the same boat as those robots do.
The residents of Granbell all love Shiki, but this love comes with many sacrifices. A sacrifice he knew some bots could no longer endure after a beaming hope had finally shed its light. He is in no place to judge when just this morning, he finds his will to live slowly but surely waning.
▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️
Everyone gathers patiently around the erected wooden platform where Rebecca and Happy were tied up. Guards stand behind them, holding a torch in their hands as if ready to burn a witch at the stake. Rebecca is the first to wake up, immediately asking what’s going on.
“I’ve waited a long time for this day… human.” Lord Castellan walks in front of Rebecca just as he sensed Shiki’s presence pushing his way through the crowd. Michael isn’t prepared for Shiki's imminent anger once he saw what they had done. Even more so when Shiki had declared that she is his friend. Lord Castellan continues his speech, raising the tension with each word he utters.
“We robots are not tools to serve humankind. Our race is not inferior to you humans.” He coldly says. Shiki turns to the other robots only to find their words aligning with the ruler.
“I am not a tool.” Michael says his tone in a timbre Shiki has never heard before. If Shiki wasn’t looking, he would have never thought those words were uttered from the mouth of the robot he considers his best friend.
“It can’t be,” Rebecca cries. “Have they been all infected with a virus?”
Lord Castellan confirms her supposition and claims that it gave them the freedom to think. To no longer be at the hands of vile humans, existing only at their convenience. Shiki, frustrated at the ridiculous assertions they have been spouting, turns to seek out his tools.
His march came to an abrupt stop when a torch nears Rebecca, threatening her life if he continues to take another step. Lord Castellan mocks his attempts to be pointless; invalidating all the time Shiki patched them up when it was actually Granbell’s Castle Auto-Repair System. And that they were only playing a role. Shiki was assigned to be the mechanic.
“No! I’m going to fix you” Shiki cries out, his eyebrows scrunching up in vexation.
“Impossible,” interrupted Lord Castellan.
“I will fix you! Please trust me. We’re friends, aren’t we?”
“You’re human. We’re machine. We cannot be friends.” the ruler says as he throws his cloak away, revealing a body resembling that of a medieval knight’s armor. He tells them of a time when humans and machines lived harmoniously in Granbell, the kingdom of fantasy and dreams. How when guests stopped coming, the humans abandoned the planet. Not even bothering to dispose what is left.
“But I’m a human!” Shiki shouts. “I never left you alone!”
His pleas went unheard. Accusations and condemnations continue to layer on top of each other, as if to shatter the friendship made fragile by the situation. Everyone goes to rile up Shiki: pinning him down and beating him up.
“I thought we were friends!” Shiki’s voice starts quivering. Daylight has never seemed much grimmer than the night. He is hopeless on the ground, every blow as painful as the words that betrayed him today.
Humans and machines are not friends. It tore Michael inside to lie, but he mustered a blistering coldness of hatred pointed at his friend. Shiki’s cries gradually fade in his ears, drowned by a resolute conviction to see through their promise with Ziggy.
And Rebecca, helplessly forced to witness such tragedy wails her words in despair.
“He said you were his friends! How can you be so cruel? You can be friends with anyone! It doesn’t matter whether you’re human or machine!”
At the sight of tears flowing from Rebecca’s eyes, Shiki finds himself getting up. If you have a friend who will shed tears for you, you better treasure them forever, he remembers.
Shiki throws a decisive punch, dispersing the robots in the area.
“Guess we’re not friends anymore.”
▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️ ▫️
The sun had begun to set and the robots, resigned to the floor, indulged themselves with the luxury of dying beneath its beauty. Michael imagines Shiki’s face, probably scrunched up in despair and muscles contorted in ways his own wouldn’t allow. He reminisces about the first time Shiki declared he would make a hundred friends. The adventures they shared all throughout the planet, every nook and cranny memorized. All ponds fished on, and the mountains explored. How they made each corner of their confined world, a home.
He tilted his head towards the direction of the place, witness to all his merriment and ugliness. His house that was supposed to outlive him, disintegrated into dust and rubble. He feels–or rather–thinks he feels strangely melancholic about it. But there was no use overthinking things when the end is nearing. He just feels what he thinks.
All his life, like many other bots, Michael wished for a human heart. As mawkish as it sounds, this longing stems from something akin to an inferiority complex remaining suppressed in him like an unspoken secret almost all robots relate and are privy to.
And yet for the first time, he believed himself fortunate to just be. If only he knew it was going to make goodbyes impossibly painful… If only he knew it would engulf him with an insurmountable loneliness...
Then he would have never wished for a heart.

'The actor and Baftas host answers your questions about facial hair, Doctor Who, Scrooge McDuck – and growing up as the son of a minister
How do you face the challenge of being this year’s Bafta host? practicalpanic I don’t currently feel particularly challenged because everything’s written down for me and I don’t have to worry about winning – or not winning – an award. If it was the first night of a play, I’d be curled up in a corner in the foetal position. But the fact that it’s not my day job certainly feels liberating. Who knows why they asked me; I must have been pretty far down the list. Expectations are pretty much zero. I don’t have anything to prove. Will I be phoning [previous Bafa hosts] Jonathan Ross and Stephen Fry for advice? I might do. But I’m travelling in blissful ignorance at the moment.
What’s your sideburn policy? They appear to be sized in direct proportion to your characters’ confidence. DrHugbine That’s a very interesting observation, which I don’t think has any truth behind it, but it’s making me wonder …
Here are some examples … Fright Night’s Peter Vincent – long and bushy, confident vampire killer. The Doctor in Doctor Who – long and pointy, charismatic and charming. Broadchurch’s DI Alec Hardy – beard, no sideburns, introverted and suspicious. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’s Barty Crouch Jr – no beard, no sideburns, complex and a traitor. Good Omens’ Anthony Crowley – ginger, no sideburns, stylish but tempted Eve in the garden of Eden as a snake so a bit of a bad egg generally. TopTramp I don’t think you’re going to write a doctoral thesis based on that evidence. It’s very thin evidence, at most. I grew sideburns for Doctor Who because, back then, I was worried I was a bit young for it and I thought they slightly aged me. Which, of course, I then had to recreate recently when I’m almost certainly too old for it. I guess increasingly I am unshaven, in which case you don’t really have to worry about sideburns because they’re part of something else. Whatever length my sideburns are on the night of the Baftas has no reflection on how I’m treating the Baftas.
As a vicar with young kids, I wondered what influence being a son of the manse has had upon your work? RevdAl It’s hard to know, because you only know the influences you had specifically from your parents because they’re your parents – it’s hard to unpick. It certainly wasn’t a childhood filled with religious dogma or any kind of restrictions. It was more a moral guidebook.
What was it like kissing Michael Sheen [in season two of Good Omens]? And who enjoyed it more? carnies18 Who enjoyed it the most? Presumably Michael was thrilled. How could he not be? But it was another day at work. The most difficult bit was other people’s awkwardness. We thought it was quite fun, so it was fine. He’d brushed his teeth.
Would you accept a knighthood just to fuel an excellent argument with Sheen in the next series of Staged? Shirls Because he sent his OBE back? That predisposes the fact that anything that’s talked about in Staged is based on real life. We are in our own houses, acting opposite people we spend our life with. But that’s pretty much the extent of the reality of Staged.
Which is best – playing a detective, a murderer or a murder victim? JonnyMorris1973 Well, one of them solves the crimes. One of them commits the crimes. And the other one has a crime done to them. It probably depends which character the writer is most fond of and therefore the most fun to play. It’s not really in the gift of the actor, so much as in the gift of the scriptwriter. I think I’ve only played one detective, haven’t I? What’s my favourite way I’ve been murdered? Oh my goodness. I was shot in The Last September. I get murdered on stage every night in Macbeth, although that’s a spoiler. I sort of died in Doctor Who when I got shot by a galvanic beam in a radiation chamber that filled my body with more radiation I could cope with.
Am I as geeky as the Doctor who fans? Yes. As a Doctor Who fan myself of old, I can very much can plug into that. I don’t think I ever got in trouble at school. That is one of those stories that’s ended up on Wikipedia. I wrote an essay on Doctor Who, which some unpleasant newspaper found and printed. But I didn’t get in trouble for it. I think I got quite a good mark for it.
Who would win in a fight between Crowley, The Doctor and Scrooge McDuck? AlistairDionysus Probably Scrooge McDuck. He seems to be able to survive just about everything. He’s far more resilient than Crowley or The Doctor, who seem to end up staring destruction in the face. Scrooge McDuck, nothing seems to trouble him.
You have a lovely singing voice! Would you like to do a musical? Beatrice_Tate, gaityr, laibarra622 and Luigii I make a nice curry, but I’m not going to open a restaurant. Would I do the Masked Singer? I love The Masked Singer. Nothing has excited my eight-year-old daughter more than when everyone thought Ricky Wilson from the Kaiser Chiefs was me, week after week. You can imagine how disappointed she was when it turned out I wasn’t.
If you were a cheese, what kind would you be? BrianBraddock I’ve got very into paneer curries. Paneer is neither hard nor soft, so I’ll say that because it makes me sound like I’ve really thought about it.
What’s the last item you snatched from a set? NataliaBCN I’m just going back through things I might have pocketed. Maybe this is the upbringing we talked of earlier. I’m very bad with nicking things. I’m plagued with guilt. The last time they released a new sonic screwdriver toy, someone gave me one but I gave it away because I’m so full of generosity, but now I slightly regret it.
Your portrayal of serial killer Dennis Nilsen [in ITV’s Des] was truly terrifying. How do you prepare for a role like that? YorkshireExPat With someone such as Dennis Nilsen, there is quite a lot of material that’s been written about him. There’s video evidence of him. So you immerse yourself as much you can, then join a line between that and the version of the character that’s in the script, because, ultimately, that’s the version you have to portray. One thing we were very careful to do on Des was to not make it from his point of view. I don’t think you can ask an audience to sympathise or understand someone like Nilsen. It’s the story of how he got away with all these things, then was caught. Hopefully the audience is left thinking: how can someone who is just another member of the human race be committing these extraordinary acts and the rest of us not notice or understand?
If you could regenerate as anyone else for the day, who would you choose? TopTramp My wife, just to see how annoying I really am so I could be properly objective and understand her pain.'

batshit suggestion grounded in next to zero facts, but it's fun:
what if, when michael went to hell to deliver the holy water, hell kidnapped them and a demon, even satan himself, replaced them? and it's been hell!michael since the end of s1? or if michael went down to hell or earth to get a new back channel contact after s1 after ligur was killed, and was replaced between gabriel disappearing and the end of s2? they seem to know dagon pretty well, that didn't just happen by itself.
think about it.
michael claims that they have permission to wield the book of life against anyone found to be aiding gabriel, which crowley says is something he made up to scare the small-c-cherubs. who would make shit up or use a rumor to threaten people? hell does that constantly. heaven doesn't, they send rude notes, not death threats. we never identify who michael was talking to over the phone from heaven, we only assume it was beez.
michael claims to not know who metatron is. hell!michael would not have met him, because metatron was a human turned angel, which would have happened after the fall, after eden, long after earth. no one in hell would have met him unless it was when he was human.
michael is itching all season to be put in charge as supreme archangel. metatron wants a known traitor, who consorts with demons, to take that spot instead. why use a known traitor instead of inside promotion? you do that if you think you have spies and masquerades going on.
satan probably suspects there's something wrong with beez failing to get the apocalypse war going again. if you can't get your own side to step up, what do you do when you know the other side is also itching to have war? you get them to do it for you, and hey conveniently there's this angel who's second in command in heaven always hanging around your place.
dagon seems to know michael, and michael has the ability to tell dagon to cut the shit out.

Rewrite of Lucifer Magne
Morningstar is overdone so i keep the magne name. Lucifer sin of pride what if he was was so hard to impress archangel he got bored his own father he find that boring. But his mother asherah is much more interesting, he even rather to hangout with his gods sibling aka his step sibling over his angel sibling. Does that mean he don't have any angel friend no infact he does. Belial paimon Asmodeus beelzebub mammon satan astaroth. He found human to be interesting so he give them free will to see what will they do with that. What make him interested in lilith is that she have the gut so call his father true name and run off from garden of Eden. Lilith even becoming his dark consort, Lucifer found that very interesting. So he and her got together. Lilith fascinated him. Samael is the only archangel who catchest his interest Despite that he still found it boring samael dedicated his life to serve god. When samael planted the tree of knowledge he intentionally seduce eve to eat the fruit he thought eve just gonna follow God order his suprise turn out eve eat the fruit. Lucifer found this to be interesting so he talk with her more often. Adam suspected Lucifer having affair with Eve when it wasn't like that. Then it happen first sin done by man. Despite his defeat by archangel Michael he wasn't hurt infact he finally found something interesting in his life. He becoming emperor of hell. He and Lilith have a daughter Charlie Magne. Her idea of redemption caught him off guard, he agree to her idea because he want to see how sinner gonna Redeem himself. Adam who becoming angel try to fight Lucifer, Lucifer just defeat him with zero effort. Lucifer didn't care about Adam at all
Lucifer : You aren't worthy of my respect nor attention
Metatron who once human turn into archangel. Lucifer didn't pay much attention to him. Adam just realize how he wasted his time fighting Lucifer when he doesn't even care about his existence. Lucifer found eve interesting not him
Great idea

Berakhot 4b: 24. "Michael."
24. What does this sound like "one" Michael is?
Michael, called the Question, "Who is God?" is explained best usig the Value in Gematria of 2063, באֶפֶסג "at zero, at the Summit."
Zero is the beginning of the infinite when there was just the Darkness before birth, the Summit is the moment one attains to Ha Shem on Horeb.
Without this Being, who provides creation with its energetic substratum and the rules for all of its interactions, the rest of the Torah, the Bhagavad Gita, the Quran are incapable of adding dimensions to the human mind.
In Hinduism, He is called Purusha, the life spark, the male element needed to turn inert matter into life. In the Bhagavad Gita, He incarnates as the god Krishna, the Scourge of the Wicked in order to explain why duty, justice, sin and wickedness are incompatible with each other. In this tradition, work and devotion to an ever increasing portion of the Grace of God is the only way to be a Hor.
In Islam, His providence is explained as follows:
Mīkāl, in Islam, archangel said to effectuate God’s rizq (providence) as well as natural phenomena, such as rain, and who is often paired with Jibrīl. In Muslim legend, Mīkāl and Jibrīl were the first angels to obey God’s order to prostrate oneself before Adam.
The two are further credited with purifying Muhammad’s heart before his night journey (Isrāʾ) from Mecca to Jerusalem and his subsequent ascension (Miʿrāj) to heaven. Mīkāl is also remembered as aiding the Muslims in their first significant military victory (Battle of Badr) in Arabia in 624.
It is said that he was so shocked at the sight of hell when it was created that he never laughed again. In biblical literature Michael is the counterpart of Mīkāl.
The single allusion to Mīkāl in the Qurʾān (2:98) states: “Whoever is an enemy of God or his angels or his apostles or Jibrīl or Mīkāl: verily God is an enemy of the unbelievers,” a verse exegetes say was intended to address the Jews of Medina, who disbelieved in the Qurʾān’s revelation yet held Michael in particular esteem as “the lord of Israel.”
According to one account, related by al-Qurṭubī (died 1273), Muhammad was questioned by the Jews of Medina about the origin of his prophetic mission.
Upon responding that Jibrīl is the bearer of his revelations, the Jews replied that the archangel (called Gabriel in biblical literature) is an enemy who brings about war and suggested that Michael would be a more trustworthy bearer of revelation.
Another report, related by al-Bayḍāwī (died 1280), states that ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, curious why they disbelieved the revelations Gabriel had brought to Muhammad, entered the synagogue of Medina and asked the Jews there how they regarded Gabriel.
The Jews replied that Michael sat at God’s left and Gabriel at his right but that the two were enemies. Whereupon ʿUmar responded that an enemy of either angel was immediately an enemy of God.
In Judaism, Dread Michael and Grim Gabriel told Adam and Eve they could not re-enter Eden until the answered the Question, "Who is God?" The Answer always is "He is the Almighty, the Most High."
No matter the religion, its messenger, its book, or its traditions, there is only one way to exceed the boundaries and limitations imposed the cycle of sin and virtue, cause and consequence and that is to retrain oneself in the importance of the question of Who is God? and Who is man?
My response today would be "The Maker of Heaven and Earth" and "The Breakers of Heaven and Earth." We were not put here to break the Law or crack the earth open and core it. As the Mishnah states, we are here to hear the Sound of One, 535, הגה, "The steering wheel."
Man can pretty much do anything he wants as often and as soon after he learns to use the steering wheel of intellect. Maturity of this sort is like Balaam on his Donkey, which protected him and was mistreated only the way because of it.
If we want to go, as the Mishnah and Gematria state from zero to the Summit, we have accept without being too disgrunted this is going to mean a few sacrifices must be made.
While there is nothing all that wrong with a bunch of teenage boys hanging out around the sling and peeing on each other in the shower morally or ethically, we would wonder if they didn't have a lawn somewhere to mow, trig homework to do or fast food to deliver; Mom and Dad who get up early, go to work, however, who pay form acquire and prepare all the food, vacuum the rugs, scrub the toilets and clean all the dirty underpants, they know they have earned the right to the time to do it.
This is the real lesson of the Steering Wheel found in the Mishnah, "the portion of fat" obtained from life through what is called Gemara, "by growing slim", i.e. "what do we need to learn in order to properly cleave to life and Cleave to God through it?"
To answer this, we begin with the Sound of The Question.
