About Pacífica: (by @saku0115) Pacifica the cat is a 15 years old teenager, she grew up in a safe city being raised only by her mother, she only hears from her father through the letters he regularly sends her at home, even though she has never physically met her father and he lost the genetic lottery, she is the spitting image of him in both good and bad ways. she dreams of going around the world like her father does, but she doesn't because she loves her mother too much to leave her alone and she knows that she doesn't want him to become her father, although she doesn't know why. She has the ability to change shapes at will and practices magic. with these two abilities she occasionally goes on adventures pretending to be someone else, clearly nothing bad could happen.

About Midnight: (by @kristhesheep) Neo supposedly created Midnight to be a powerful and worthy successor, despite caring for them like one would a normal child. Shadow, truthfully, wasn't an active party in their creation. Midnight is a very formidable foe, between the Chaos manipulation abilities from Shadow's biodata and the technology copied from Neo's own body, including the shape shifting. Midnight is known to be surprisingly polite despite their intense stare. They rarely start fights, though they'll finish them quickly when provoked. They're very protective of those they're close to and very curious. Neo sometimes brought them stargazing when they were very new, so they have a nostalgic appreciation for astronomy. When they get more independence, they eventually become a habitual traveler. They always stay close with their extended family, though. They rarely talk to strangers, having a quiet and distant nature, but they will sometimes watch people from afar, also being very curious. So the general populace thinks of them like a cryptid.

in the scorched ruins of a long abandoned ravine awaits an elderly badger. for seasons, midnight retraced the ancient claw-marks of those before this time; fading echoes of now forgotten spirits. every night she patrols the worn stone, accompanied only by the distant pelt of stars above her.

the low humming of wind bouncing off the gorge walls was scarcely broken--be it by a passing critter or occasional loner--but tonight, something was different.

she follows the shrill wailing--lumbering after it with more energy than she had showcased in moons--down the ragged cliff edge, and into the hollowed out stone. there lay a scrawny cat--a kitten. midnight's ears itch at it's mewling, and her throat tightens.

she reaches out a clawed paw, and pulls the shivering scrap towards herself. the kit whimpers still, but unscrews it's eyes. brilliant sunburnt irises burn into her own; and a warmth she had long been deprived melted the aches of age away--if only for a moment.

those pools of yellow observed her curiously. after a heartbeat, the child nuzzled deeper into her wiry coat.

how long had it been since held new life? how long had it been since was held by someone?

regardless of the answer, she couldnt let go now.

Icb I ever considered an alternative— obvs it’s My.st.ra who’s 🤝 with Cleon from Fou.nda.tion.

For reference there’s an empire in Fou.nda.tion. Ages ago, an emperor named Cleon decided to found a genetic dynasty by cloning himself. The ouroboros of the end result is astounding. There are always 3 Cleon’s: Dusk (oldest), Day (middle), and Dawn (youngest). Although they’re clones, a new Dawn is decanted as an infant at the same moment a Dusk is euthanized. Prev Day becomes the new Dusk, and prev Dawn becomes the new Day. Dusk advises Day. Day rules the empire. Both (especially Day) raise the new Dawn.

The themes of personal identity and ouroboros are so delicious. They are all Cleon; they are all the same person. They’re perfectly synchronized down to the moment they lift their forks. Yet they are each individuals shaped by their own experiences. They are each other’s brothers and fathers and grandfathers while also being each other. In that sense they are also their own brother and father and grandfather — while also being none of that because they’re a clone of the same man. Reasons Discord's New Mobile Layout Update is Bad

The reply function is redundant, as most people are used to just holding down and tapping the reply option at the top. If they're going to change it, they shouldn't have gotten rid of the member list for this functionally bad option. It also doesnt line up with any other platform in terms of swipe direction.

The member list is gone from easy viewing

It doesnt auto open your last group chat/DM making multiple simultaneous conversations far more difficult and longer

It's already broken my app once (Locked all channels including other servers' to one channel. I could not access anything except that and my DMs.)

You can not see images that have been pinned in the pins tab.

The search function was fine before. Where did your before, during and after date search go??

All of Discord's individuality is disappearing.

Getting used to a mobile format actually impedes usage of the desktop format and likely discourages people from multiplatforming discord because theyre so used to the "intuitiveness" of the new "tailored for mobile" experience

Discord’s new layout is apparently permanent. Keep sending feedback and rating it one star on all appstores; if you get redirected to the advice article, double tap gove feedback.

If you, too, dislike the theme, head to settings (you can double tap your account picture) and go to Appearance, scroll to New Layout and Send Feedback.

Overall, what they've done is disorientate every single current user on discord, and you cannot avoid it unless you've not updated to the latest discord because this is not an update. It is a feature that has already been on the latest update and is being slowly rolled out, like Tumblr Polls.

Good Luck, and may we send as much feedback as possible and have them make it optional or at the least, revert it. I've already sent in at least seven complaints to discord, commented on their instagram post about the layout and I'm about one star review it on google play and app store.

This isnt just the appearance and vibes being off like the new (ish) app icon, this is a matter of functionality.
