What keeps fucking me up the most about the latest Doctor Who episode (The Well) is not that the midnight entity won and escaped, but how it managed to win. The last time, the midnight entity lost because someone sacrificed themselves to keep it trapped. This time, the entity started killing people by following a couple of made-up rules that would guarantee that sooner or later it would manage to escape the planet. Because moving unto the person that killed it's previous host wasn't a rule, it was a choice, and thus, when the time came, it's ticket out. Finally, the time comes... and the Doctor is there. The only living creature that had met the midnight entity before and sabotaged it's plans is there. And... here is the part that fucks me up... the Doctor does what the Doctor does best, he finds a way to win, but he was so focused on finding a loophole in the rules that he never stopped to think about why the midnight entity had started to follow those rules.

Our headmate, Midnight, is expecting.

This was quite the surprise to find on Friday, when I couldn't get in contact with anyone. I ventured into headspace to find Midnight with an egg sac. I was shocked, and admittedly not in a good way at first.

For reference, Midnight is an Anadi. Anadi are originally from Pathfinder, but she's a Harthtan Anadi, which is different. They are natural shapeshifters between giant tarantula and human, with their natural form in the middle. Midnight has a partner who lives in our partner system. He's the father.

To put it simply, we've had an extremely stressful weekend, and the three eggs in this egg sac were just the icing on the cake, at least for a while. I soon warmed up to the idea, and I don't think it'll be too bad when there's three new littles running around. The others are mostly neutral or a little apprehensive.

Who knows, maybe these three are a stress split like Darien is. I haven't been able to tell. But, I can feel their senses of self forming. At least some of them are definitely going to be headmates, not NPCs.

I don't see much about headmates born into a system, and to be honest I wasn't expecting it so soon. I guess I'm still in the mindset of "my system isn't developed enough", but then they go and pull things like this. It feels like we've reached a milestone in independence recently.

Either way, I'm excited for when the eggs hatch. And don't worry, I'll make sure to share names when they get finalized :)

So much of what society treats as a joke is just mocking disability. Their idea of lazy is a disabled person trying to survive, whether that be living with their parents as an adult or using pre prepared food. Cringe culture is based entirely around mocking neurodivergent people and their interests. Symptoms and characteristics of disability such as urgency issues, drooling, tremors, tics, strabismus and speech impediments are used as cheap punchlines.

In children’s tv shows disabled characters such as those with speech impediments are treated as a joke, with symptoms of disability being portrayed as synonymous to stupid.

This idea is being taught from a young age in the media and it’s engrained into our language and culture. This goes beyond jokes, it contributes to the alienation of people with disabilities.

Once you start noticing these things you realise how constant and normalised it is.

Reducing an entire person to a punchline is wrong. Using a disability symptom as an insult is wrong. It’s disturbing how normalised it is to not treat people with basic decency and respect.

Chronic Sonic pt 10

Longest part yet good grief. This was a part i had planned since the first post i made though so that makes sense.

1. Sonic dropped his cuffs on purpose if that wasn’t clear. He views it as better to hurt more and feel like himself than hurt less and not recognize himself in his reflection. (This is bad because if the inhibitors are not only helping with the pain but are also there to prevent his condition from worsening. Without them, his body starts to take the hit again.)

2, Tails knows that Sonic dropped his cuffs on purpose but won’t outright call him out on it. He is, however, upset with him because now Shadow is having to sacrifice himself just to keep him alive and Tails can’t be mad at Shadow because he’s literally just doing what’s necessary to keep Sonic from destroying himself. So it’s scolding for Sonic.

3. Usually Shadow and Sonic would do battle over this but Sonic has just done battle before the start of this comic and his inhibitor cuffs are off which means he is about as physically weak as he can get. So if you’re wondering why Shadow was able to just slap his inhibitors on Sonic without any trouble that’s why.

4. Sonic gets his first taste of watching someone else actively partake in self-destructive behaviour and not listen to him when he tries to talk them out of it. This does snap him out of some of the mental mess he’s in, and he will stop trying to actively damage himself. For now. Old habits die hard though.
