ohnmy god they were roommates !!! no way
i like both of their designs will definitely roll for kaveh when he releases. he's dendro i think? and a greatsword user. fond of both the element and weapon type
was not expecting his (kaveh's) voice to be like that but it suits him . people on twitter were comparing him to howl and I can sort of see it (hair and eyes are similar, both are wearing a white shirt and have a few embellishments/jewelry) so in my head his voice was!! howl's. interested to see more of him
their bickering reminds me of the squabbles my great aunt and uncle get into ..... it's giving old married couple. err though not really. they don't seem too fond of each other. but then again if you think about it there's no reason they Have to be living together (that we currently know of at least & aren't they like. of high ranks in the akedemiya?? im very sure one of them could really move out if they really wanted to + be able to sustain themself on their own) so maybe they don't despise each other as much as it appears. if they genuinely couldn't stand each other i don't think they'd be sticking around. they don't seem like the kind of people
maybe they're such awful housemates in general that no else would want to live with either of them/be able to tolerate them besides each other ...... Either way the shippers and fanfiction writers r going to have a field day with the pair. I say this while reading a kavetham fic on ao3 (I was Curious to see what people have been writing it's very interesting)
it's incredibly amusing to me how there's barely any content with them interacting in-game and they already have more works than the venlumi tag (which i think was around ~596 ... I'm actually surprised there's only that many. in general you would expect that ship to be more popular than it is but it isnt)
god he's such an ass . you love to see it

So, this parallel, right.
That parallel and the 4x11 shadowpeach fight as a whole:
Macaque: "No that's YOU! You're the one always running off! Looking for more power, more sources of immortality—you're the one who wouldn't quit while were were ahead! Not the great sage, he's got to drag EVERYONE else into his mess!"
Sun Wukong: "You're not in this mess, you're still free! Everything I did was for us!"
Macaque: "You did it for yourself! You've become like this, obsessive demon! I told you going against the Jade Emperor was a bad idea, but no, Wukong doesn't listen to anyone! He just does whatever he wants! You put yourself here, not me."
(4x11 A Lifetime of Mistakes)
-
A large part of Wukong's motivation to keep getting more power was the freedom of it—the more power you have the easier it is to do whatever you want. It's easier to ignore everyone else and focus solely on yourself. It's also easier to ensure yourself and your loved one's are protected and have the ability to do what they want.
So, a punishment where the great Monkey King is imprisoned and trapped for hundreds of years? It's effective and tragic and fitting. Wukong wanted to have the freedom to protect the people he cared about, and in trying to reach for the power to do that, he completely had his freedom removed. He went from the mountain, to then the circlet, and then all of a sudden he had morals and was bound to those.
And then I think about his end of s3 choice to go face the Lady Bone Demon alone. Once again Wukong was trying to protect his loved ones (not to mention the whole reason he went after the Samadhi fire to begin with was to have the power, the freedom to stop LBD (which in itself is another case of SWK believing he needed to be stronger for such freedom)), but he also wanted to make sure MK and himself both had agency. He didn't want MK to have to fight LBD, and he didn't want LBD to end the world.
This is exactly the sentiment he tells Macaque in the 4x11 flashback:
Sun Wukong: "It's so we don't have to worry about anything or anyone ever again! Just living a lazy life, sitting in the sun, eatin' fruit, and doing whatever we want!"
But where does it all lead him?
To possession, imprisonment. Once again Wukong no longer had the freedom to do what he wanted (which is to protect the people he cares about). Once again in his attempts to help his loved one's, he only hurt them.
This can be applied to his relationship with Macaque, to MK in s2, hell, even Wukong trying to get the map in the first place left him powerless, which then led to him and the gang being imprisoned in 3x02. It's a familiar pattern, one we see with antagonist and protagonist alike.
MK in s2 trained to become more powerful, which in the end only strengthened LBD and forced him and his friends on the run. Mei in 3x12 protects MK by letting herself get captured and placed into LBD's crystal. Mei in 4x05 goes to protect MK, breaking her sword and leaving her vulnerable to being captured by Kui Mulang ("How am I supposed to protect everyone without my sword?"). DBK reached for more power and then became possessed by LBD, hurting his wife and son. Azure reached for the Jade Emperor's power and bound himself to that role, jeopardizing Peng and Yellowtusk in the process.
It's a cycle of reaching for power, endangering others, and then being imprisoned.
So anyways, here's why MK is going to lose control (his agency) next season and hurt his friends with his own- *get's shot*

enemies to lovers isn't "he's generally an unpleasant person to be around, he constantly puts other people down and disrespects/condescends/ostracizes them, he's cruel and a bully... but his one redeeming quality is that he looks attractive" like. bestie that's not a redemption arc!! or a redeeming quality!!! a person can and should control their behaviors, but how they look literally has no bearing on their worth as a person!
like... this trope is about an initial misunderstanding and miscommunication that leads to mild conflict and resentment of each other, but eventually they move past this rocky start by revealing to each other their humanity and good qualities, and communicating what happened the first time they met so that they can clear up that situation, and slowly becoming good friends who enjoy spending time with each other and eventually become really close, and the realization that one accidental mishap/slip in behavior/aashole mistake isn't what defines a person and sometimes your first interpretation of them is sometimes wrong!! an entire opinion of someone should be formed based on their behaviors, values, actions, and morals, and quality time spent with this person, not because they have nice cheekbones.

I think it's good for your health to play in the fictional realm of something that disgusts you sometimes. It could be a ship, character dynamic, situation, the characters themselves, their beliefs, whatever. You don't have to share it or even tell anyone, it's just for you to experience, to sit with what you find to be truly grotesque and see how you feel and what it's like. I think it's a good exercise to do from time to time, enriches the soul, allows more texture in your life. You could come out of it feeling the same, you could come out of it learning something new, maybe it'll sit with you and you'll discover something about the experience weeks later. Disgust can be very informative and we assign so much shame to it when it can actually be quite valuable to go through and see what's on the other side for us. I promise it's okay and no one is getting hurt by this creative exercise as uncomfortable as it is. Go forth and play in the mud!
(please note: things that Disgust you, not Triggers you. If it triggers you probably steer clear of it or do this exercise with the guidance of a therapist)

"This is what God wanted. My faith shall not waver. Sinners must die."
Traditional art again, this time with colour pencils.
You know every now and then I remember that Amane is twelve. Like she's not that young. She's right for asking us to not treat her differently just because of her age, I would've done the same at her age. She's nearing her teenage years, a time where you tend to feel very strongly about your beliefs, but also a time where you want to question authority. I think she would be very torn internally between questioning the cult and thinking she's a sinner for just considering that something might be wrong with her upbringing. Being mad at herself for doubting that what she did was the right thing. Being mad at the world for not following God's teachings. Praying endlessly to make the sinful thoughts disappear.
I really respect her strength and unwavering will. I just wish she would meet people who could show her that there's other ways of living. Maybe MILGRAM could help her open up to new perspectives. Well not if she's voted guilty and gets restrained I guess.
