So im in a weird mood today.

I went to sleep last night, after writing another 1k for a fanfic about women trying to regain their body autonomy back from a monster. Literally, a big part of the plot, is whatever or not some of them chose to get an abortion. In the first part of that fic, wich is already published, there is an actual abortion taking place.

And I woke up to leak that america might loose that right.

It's strange. I usually try to keep politic out of this blog. This is my horny, shitposty, warhammer related escapism space. It's not that i'm not into it, fuck no, I have been an active member of the most leftist political party of my province for a solid 10 years+ now. But I don't want to make politically charged art. That's not my thing.

Some might argue that all art is politically charged. That just by writing positively about a character getting an abortion, I am making a political statement. I have been reading fanfic for over 15 years, in an infinity of fandom, and I can maybe count on my fingers the number of time I have seen abortion brought up, compared to the tens of thousand of pregnancy fics. If we take off the two time I have written about it, you might even go back to being able to read them all on the fingers of one hand. I don't know what it say about us writers, that it's so much easier to write about death, rape and so much more, than it is to write about a medical procedure that 1 in 4 people that get pregnant will have. Yes. That's the real statistic. Chance are, in your family, people had it.

We just don't talk about it, because somehow, that's the most taboo of subject, even if you are pro choice.

I tough about stopping my work on the next part. Hell, for a minute, I thought about deleting the fic. I'm scared of people thinking that I'm using the political situation as some kind of... Spring board, for my weird warhammer au dealing with abuse and reproductive issues.

I won't, don't worry. In fact, I'm gonna be working extra hard on it. In the end, I think now more than ever, people need to be able to read about characters getting their agency back frome Men In Power. They need to see people being able to choose their body autonomy, and that choice to be framed in a positive light. Especially in a fandom like warhammer, wich is so full of right winger. It feel almost gleeful, to get my little grubby hands on the franchise and push my little leftist ideology right under their noses.

So yeah. i'm not sure of the point of this entire rambling. I guess that it's me processing some complicated feelings, and just throwing them into the internet void as always, with half an odea that they may help other process too.

Anyway.

George snickered, “Surely it wasn’t that bad.” You groaned again, face buried in your hands.

“It was miserable!” You exclaimed, arms thrown up in the air-a textbook example of embarrassed outrage, “This is the end for me! I’m never leaving my room again, you’ll have to slide the delicious meals you’ll make me through a newly created slot in the door. Forget dying on a job, I’m going to pass from vitamin D deficiency!”

“Uhm…Sorry?” George says, ever the portrait of empathy. You tell him as much. “Hey! I’d have more sympathy for you if you told me what actually happened.”

You had a question to do with a new case the agency had just accepted and George and Lucy had been out shopping, so you ran towards Lockwoods room and threw the door open. Your eyes were stuck on the files in your hands so you were not aware of any of your surroundings.

“Hey, question for you-“ A strangled yelp cut you off and you found yourself face to face with a very flustered Anthony Lockwood, who was currently wearing only a pair of sweatpants and in the process of removing a plain white t-shirt.

“Oh…” You searched for words. He cleared his throat and attempted to gain control of the situation.

“…Morning.” He nodded at you, as if his face were not an obscene red. You looked at his nose, knowing any lower and you’d end up staring at either his lips or bare chest, and any higher and you’d have to face the most awkward eye contact you’d ever experienced.

“Yes.” You nodded back, as if you heard what he’d said over the blood rushing through your ears. “I’m-You-I need you?”

The silence was loud.

“To answer a question of mine, that is, but um…you’re clearly busy so I will see myself out.”
