The Science Behind Military Water Filter Canteens: How They Keep Our Troops Safe
Canteens have been an essential part of military equipment for centuries. They provide a convenient way for troops to stay hydrated while on the move, but in recent years, military water filter canteens have become increasingly popular. These canteens are equipped with advanced filtration systems that remove impurities from water sources, making them safe to drink. In this article, we will explore the science behind these canteens and how they keep our troops safe.

What is a Military Water Filter Canteen? A military water filter canteen is a specialized canteen designed to filter water from various sources, such as rivers, streams, and lakes. These canteens are equipped with advanced filtration systems that remove harmful impurities, bacteria, and viruses from the water. They are typically made from durable materials such as stainless steel, which can withstand the harsh conditions of military operations. The Benefits of Military Water Filter Canteens These canteens provide numerous benefits to troops in the field. First and foremost, they allow soldiers to safely drink water from sources that would otherwise be unsafe. This is particularly important in areas where access to clean water is limited, or where natural disasters or other emergencies have contaminated water sources. Additionally, they are lightweight and easy to carry, making them a convenient way for troops to stay hydrated while on the move. They can be easily attached to backpacks or other equipment, and they take up minimal space. How Military Water Filter Canteens Work They use advanced filtration systems to remove impurities from water sources. These filtration systems typically include multiple stages, each designed to remove specific types of contaminants. The first stage of the filtration process usually involves a pre-filter that removes larger particles and debris from the water. This is followed by one or more stages that remove bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms. Finally, the water is passed through a stage that removes any remaining impurities, such as chemicals or heavy metals. The exact filtration process can vary depending on the specific model of military water filter canteen, but all of them are designed to provide safe, clean drinking water to troops in the field. The Importance of Stainless Steel Canteen When it comes to military water filter canteens, stainless steel is the material of choice for a good reason. Stainless steel is incredibly durable, making it ideal for use in harsh military environments. It is also non-reactive, meaning it won't leach harmful chemicals into the water it contains. Stainless steel military canteen is also easy to clean and maintain, which is important in the field. They are resistant to rust and corrosion, and they can withstand extreme temperatures without cracking or breaking. The Benefits of CanteenMWF Military Water Filter Canteens CanteenMWF is one of the leading brands of military water filter canteen and stainless steel canteen on the market today. Their canteens are designed to meet the needs of troops in the field, with advanced filtration systems and durable, high-quality materials. Their canteens use a three-stage filtration process that removes impurities, bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants from water sources. They are made from high-grade stainless steel and are designed to withstand the rigors of military operations. In conclusion, the military water filter canteen is a vital tool for ensuring that troops have access to safe drinking water in remote or combat areas. The durability and reliability of stainless steel military canteen, such as the CanteenMWF, make them an essential item for troops on the move. Original Source: https://bit.ly/3JunKrR

John "Soap" MacTavish Headcannons
This man can SPRINT in heels I will die on this hill
If it wasn't for the military, he'd sleep until noon
Probably work a nightshift too
He needs coffee to function, if he doesn't have coffee he's a grouch
Takes his time waking up, not an early bird
He needs like five alarms to wake up
Bathroom first kind of person
Sometimes takes a shower in the morning, depends on if he didn't the night before
COFFEE and juice
Sweet tooth, a horrible sweet tooth
Chocolate chip pancakes are his go to, or whatever the canteen has tbh he's not that picky
He sleeps in whatever, or just his boxers does not care-
He does not dress up, he's in a uniform and looks presentable 9/10 out of ten. He's in a t-shirt and sweats when he's not deployed
Takes a shower every night, sometimes multiple times in the same night if he still feels grimey after the first one
He doesn't take baths often, but when he does it has bubbles and a rubber duckie. He likes the simple things in life guys
He likes simple scents, nothing complex
He hates 3-in-1
He likes Mint toothpaste
He eats when he can, but has pocket snacks
He loves home cooked meals
He likes smoothies, the purple ones (that he can never remember the name of) he gets from a smoothie shop are his favorites
He never makes meals for later, he's not that organized-
Rarely has leftovers
Get's fast food once in a blue moon
Doesn't eat out much, unless it's a special occasion
He does most of the chores, he has a specific way he does things
DESPISES dishes, hates the feeling of the food being squishy and soft under his fingers
IMMEDIATELY washes dishes after using them
Does have a "laundry chair" but it doesn't last long tbh
Makes his bed in the morning, military taught him well
Has a car, but that's about it
Owns a car, but it's this little puddle hopper and it's beat up- He could afford a better car, but he's deployed a lot so he probably won't buy one
He literally takes his car through the biggest puddles ever, just to see the water arch. He's easily amused
Hates boats, especially after Graves
He has an Android
Special ringtones for everyone he cares about
He has it silenced 9/10, he silences it for missions and forgets to unsilence it
He has candy-crush on his phone and I will stand firm on this
He has the basic lock and home screens
He has snapchat but uses it for the filters, also has facebook for market place and Tiktok for the car videos
He has a few followers on Tiktok
He can block someone easy
He posts his cooking fails online
He probably has angered the baking/cooking niche online A LOT, dude probably has callouts from five years ago because he doesn't care-
He sleeps whenever, but totally has sleeping meds for his PTSD
He can either be up all night or in seconds, depends on how tired he is tbh
He's a light sleeper
He talks in his sleep, but it's mostly mumbles
Has nightmares more often than not
Has a bit of light from his TV, finds it hard to sleep without it
Sleeps with every window and door locked
Has his bed in the corner of the wall, hard to be attacked from both sides

He likes bread, just bread ;-;
He listens to literally everything, except classical it puts him to sleep
Very Artsy
He has Bachlers degree
He loves cats, and has one at his moms
Struggles with gifts tbh
He went from the tallest in his family, to the one of the shortest on his team
He's huge on physical touch, especially with his partner
He said something that made Ghost stop in his tracks once, and then ever did again. It was so stupid it was smart
Soap is so fucking sociable it honestly annoys Ghost
He really wants to get married, but doesn't want to put the stress of him always being deployed on his spouse and he doesn't want to die on them
He's allergic to Buckwheat, Shellfish, Balsam of Peru, Tegretol, and Cosmetics
Whenever something traumatic happens he shrugs and goes: "Well that happened" and goes on with his life
He has a lot of scars, mostly from war itself most of them are on his upper arms but some are on his chest and forearms
He has a scar from getting a gash on his leg when playing when he was a kid, he needed A LOT of stitches
He has one that looks like a cresant moon on his right hand ring finger
He honestly doesn't mind when people trace his scars, it's kinda soothing
A little kid once asked about one on his chest, which he got when a bomb went on prematurely, and he said he got it from a T-Rex to entertain the kid.
That was also when he decided he wanted kids, when the kids eyes blew open wide and they bounced on their toes asking more questions. Which he provided absurd answers until the kids mom rushed over and apologized
The one on his chest was from a near-death experience, learned really quick how to run really really fast
He holds his partner close during cuddling, if their back is against his chest his face in buried in their neck. If he's laying on top of them, he has his head against their stomach and his arms protectively around their waist, or if his head is on his lap he just gently holds them and usually falls asleep
He's close with all of his family but is 1n00% a momma's boy
He stims by making faces, which is slightly weird if you don't know him wel

SCP AMTF Nu-7 Cosplay - Hazardous Environment Level III
Depicted here is the standard loadout of a conventionally armed Nu-7 operative in a Level III rated hazardous environment. Each level, ranging from I to IV, has a typical hazardous environment protection requirement that outlines the necessary support that a task force member needs to complete their objectives within the working area. Note that Level IV Hazardous Environment protection encompasses all hazardous environment loadouts which include thaumatological or anomalous equipment intended to protect from specific anomalous entities or regions. As such a Level IV loadout may appear as any of the previous three loadouts with the aforementioned supplementary equipment.
Showcased here is an example of a Nu-7 operative working within a Level III Hazardous Environment. Required protection when working in this environment is a standalone gas mask with a filter rated for all CBRN threats and a fully sealed CBRN suit equivalent to US military MOPP (Mission Oriented Protective Posture) Level 4 standard. This standard includes a full seal gas mask, gas mask hood, gloves and overgloves, boots and overboots, and the CBRN overgarments itself. The standard issue gas mask of Nu-7 forces is the Avon Protection C50. This is a variant of the famous M50 which uses standard NATO 40 mm thread filters. In addition, the Avon C50 and M50 series gas masks are designed to be worn under a ballistic helmet. In this protective level, the Avon C50 is paired with a standard issue Avon Gas Mask Protective Hood. When secured to the wearer and worn under body armor this hood provides full seal protection around the neck and face. The standard issue overgloves and overboots are AirBoss lightweight models. The overgloves are paired with a glove liner for additional comfort. The overboots are worn over standard footwear. The Foundation supplies state of the art CBRN suits to all AMTF units which provide full protection against all threats while also providing some comfort for the wearer. This example is a GORE CPCSU-2 CBRN Jumpsuit. This suit uses advanced materials that allows for increased freedom of movement, less noise when moving, and less user fatigue over time.
The primary use case of Level III Hazardous Environment equipment is when the element is operating within an area that has a known threat of CBRN agents. To counter this threat, the operative is equipped with a CBRNCF50 (NIOSH) Filter that protects from all gaseous agents specified in the NIOSH CBRN standard. This operative carries his Avon C50 in a gas mask bag slung bandolier style over the right shoulder. The usual combat clothing will not suffice in such an environment, so the operative wears a CBRN suit over his standard uniform. The operative cannot remove this uniform until proper decontamination protocols are completed under any circumstances. This includes the good, the bad, and the ugly of sustainment in the working area. Because of this, AMTF units that work within such an environment are quickly rotated out in order to prevent total fatigue. CBRN suits quickly drain the wearer of water as the lack of airflow causes a buildup of perspiration and exertion increases body heat which in turn increases perspiration, causing a vicious cycle of losing liquid. As such water intake is extremely important when operating in a CBRN environment, and the C50 gas mask allows for the operative to safely drink water while in the working environment using the built-in drinking tube paired with a canteen with a gas mask cap. This drinking system allows for the user to safely drink water without the risk of exposing themselves to any deadly contaminants in the air.
The fully sealed nature of a gas mask means that it is difficult to speak through the faceblank and filter and still be understood in a combat environment. A Voice Projection Unit, or VPU, allows the wearer to speak through a microphone placed inside the gas mask that projects the wearer's voice through a voicebox mounted on the front of the gas mask. This allows the wearer to speak audibly without yelling to nearby peers. Should the element choose to speak solely through the radio, a separate wire is needed that connects the C50 to the communications headset. This allows for clear communication through the radio but decreases audible effectiveness towards anyone not within the radio network - a positive or negative aspect depending on the scenario.
Full Resolution Here.

There was joyful chaos in the regimental mess rooms. None of the units was ready for overseas duty; there were families to resettle, debts to pay, equipment to purchase, and ranks to fill. Few of the junior officers had been on active service before, and the military outfitters did a thriving business on a cash basis. "When gentlemen are going out as you are, sir, it is always a case of ready money," said one tailor; and a bootmaker shook his head over Isandhlwana with: "Sad business, sir, very sad. We lost three customers by it." White's in Aldershot was filled with piles of freshly purchased buckets, pillows, canteens, valises, collapsible tubs, water filter bags, tables, chairs and bedsteads, all to be painted with the owner's name, rank and regiment and most of it perfectly useless on campaign.

“You look like Rudolph, Daisy,” Elena greeted.
Daisy took a large swig of coffee, rolling her eyes but smirking. The pair were walking together to Elena’s first class after a tough early-morning spar.
“You’re the one who punched me where I already had a bruise,” Daisy shot back.
“Hey, I already told you I was aiming for the jaw. It’s not my fault you didn’t duck quick enough.”
They laughed as Elena swiped her key card to the comms building. Daisy held the door for Elena, shoving her lightly in the back as she passed.
“Hey!”
“Not my fault you can’t see backwards,” Daisy teased.
It was Elena’s turn to roll her eyes and laugh, slowing to a stop outside May’s lecture room.
“Right. Wish me luck, I heard May was giving a pop quiz today,” Elena grimaced.
“You don’t need any luck. I’ll see ya, Elena,” Daisy replied.
“Yeah, you will!” Elena said, backing into May’s large lecture room.
Daisy watched her wave and sit down with a group of third-years, her perfect french braids swishing behind her, before turning around. Daisy didn’t have a moment to think about where she was going before she ran into a solid wall.
Daisy looked up into a pair of dark chocolate eyes, crinkled at the edges with a small smile. The wall’s hair was ruffled, as if he had just gotten out of bed. He wore black SHIELD sweats and a white t-shirt. The wall was very attractive. She vaguely registered the smattering of books on the ground, her mind more focused on his hands on her shoulders.
“Daisy, are you okay?”
She must have been staring for too long. “Yeah, I’m good! Great! Sorry, Sousa,” she apologized, quickly bending over to pick up his books. She almost dropped them again when his hand brushed hers while she handed the thick textbooks back. She gave him a quick smile, taking a deep breath to compose herself, reciting her affirmations. I am Daisy Johnson. I am an Agent of SHIELD. I can move the Earth. I am powerful. I am in control of myself.
Daniel’s smile grew a bit when he heard Daisy laughing quietly to herself.
“I guess you could say I really swept you off your feet.”
Daniel chuckled at the quip, his hands still on her shoulders. “Yeah. Foot,” Daniel corrected. Daisy furrowed her brows, but ignored the strange comment.
“Right. Well, the bell—” Daisy was cut off by a long, high-pitched bell. She closed her eyes tight, the blaring alarm causing tiny vibrations to travel through her skull. When she opened them, Daniel was still standing in front of her, white tee and black sweats and messy morning hair encouraging just a bit more flirting before he had to leave.
“Wow, look at you. Late! I’m a bad influence on you, Danny.”
Daniel shrugged, glancing at his watch. “S’not the first time,” he murmured lowly, stepping away and giving her a last look before he disappeared into the classroom.
Daisy pretended not to notice her heart rate had risen from it’s usual sixty beats-per-minute to seventy-six beats-per-minute.
Daisy spent the rest of the day absentmindedly completing work in her classes. For some reason, flirting with Daniel felt… different than it had with her exes. Even her exes in SHIELD. Daniel was grounded. He had a calm presence. Being late didn’t phase him in the slightest; Daisy would have internally berated herself for the rest of the day.
She was finishing a short answer assignment from International Law and SHIELD Policy while stretching on the outdoor training grounds when she saw him again: still in sweats despite the heat. He was still walking with same, familiar limp. Then it clicked—’Foot’; the throwaway comment from earlier made much more sense now. He had a prosthetic. Before she could think anymore about that revelation, May called the Ops trainees to gather around her under a giant maple tree. Daisy was the last to get up, hanging towards the back as usual.
“Ops training, eh?”
Sousa turned to Daisy standing beside him, breaking his focus on May to turn to her. “Yeah. I used to be military, remember? 28th Infantry Recon Scout. I figure I’ve got to get at least near the level I used to be before I can go in the field.”
Daisy nodded, her hair caught in a slight breeze. “As long as you don’t steal my crown as the Queen of Spar, Master of Field Ops Physical Training.”
Daniel chuckled quietly, turning his attention back to May, who was explaining today’s exercises.
“Partners,” Daisy breathed. Daisy hated partners, unless it was May. She’d rather condition. It wasn’t that she didn’t like the other trainees, they were great people! But her nerves got the better of her and she ended up holding back, not helping herself or her partner. She knew how to control her powers, how to keep herself from using them while sparring. Whispers of doubt and guilt still invaded, fogging her mind like deadly mist.
You could kill them. It’s happened before…
She was taken back to the moment by Daniel tapping her shoulder. “Partners?”
Daisy reluctantly nodded and motioned to him to follow her over to a thick pad of grass next to a small willow tree.
“So, what exactly are we supposed to be doing? It’s Tuesday, which is usually a mix of breathing and nerve control and focusing on technique, rather than strength.”
Daniel glanced over at the other partners, who were all going through defensive and offensive stances slowly, like tai chi, he thought.
Daisy walked closer to where he had stopped beside the willow, pointing out a pair of partners moving almost in sync.
“They’re focusing on how their breathing can help their fighting. Mentally and physically. If you’re nervous, your heart rate spikes, your brain goes fuzzy and then your body gets sloppy. If you aren’t breathing, your heart rate spikes, your brain goes fuzzy and your body gets sloppy. Breath can make a punch more powerful and a kick more accurate, if you know how to use it. I’ll show you the moves.”
Defensive, offensive, block, strike, block, kick. Daisy continued in a cycle until Sousa could mirror her movements with little effort.
Daisy stopped him then. “Great! You’re a quick learner,” She winked, smiling wide.
Daniel smiled back, “So how do I do the breathing thing?”
Daisy pondered how to explain it for a second. “You have to flow, like water. You control your breathing, you have the power. But at the same time, you have to let the air flow naturally. The moves will align with your breath, don’t force it.”
Daniel nodded, and they were off. It took a minute to get into the groove, but once he did, it felt effortless. Every kick, block, inhale and turn, exhale and strike came naturally. It gave him the opportunity to study Daisy.
Usually, especially in the early mornings in the computer lab, Daisy looked tired. Her brows were drawn slightly, fingers fidgeting, knee bouncing. In the halls she walked briskly and adjusted her bag or checked her watch often, a small tic she didn’t seem to notice. Right now, though, breeze across her olive skin, Daisy looked cool as water.
She felt the earth beneath her. The trees and grass and flowers in the wind. She tuned in to the radio of her surroundings, letting her muscle memory guide her. The forest was really loud. The concrete buildings had a sort of buzz, too. They mixed in her bones like the sounds of a great symphony, low rumbles and high-pitched chittering and long, constant notes that provided a harmony to the undulating melody. The frequencies of each living and non-living thing in the area seemed to be flowing around her, steady.
Daniel softly stared at her as she moved through the flow with him. She was very good at this. He was having a bit of trouble, though he doubted he would be having this much trouble if it wasn't Daisy right in front of him. For an exercise designed to relax them, wasn’t it counterintuitive to partner with the girl that made his heart skip a beat when she smiled?
When May clapped her hands and signaled the end of the session, the tired, sweaty kids gathered around May’s oak tree. The sun was beginning to dip towards the horizon, bringing a glow to each of their faces. Daisy looked radiant.
“Class is dismissed. Tomorrow, we’re conditioning,” May warned. In a quieter voice, May called, “Daisy, can you hang for a second?”
Daisy stepped away from her bag and towards May. “Is everything okay?”
“Yes, everything’s fine. I have a question for you. Would you mind giving up your free period three times a week?”
Daisy’s eyebrows raised, no classes that she knew of only took place three times a week. “I want to say yes, but I’d also like to know why?”
“Fair. Top brass called. If you want to be a field agent with powers, you’ve got to practice fighting with them, get comfortable with them. I know everything that happened with Lincoln…” May paused, gauging Daisy’s reaction. When there wasn’t any, May continued. “Your powers didn’t make you an agent, I did.”
May paused, giving Daisy a chance to settle her thoughts before adding, “But I think this is important.”
Daisy slowly nodded. If this was important to May, then Daisy had no problems giving up her free period.
“Who will I train with?” she asked.
May smiled. “Meet Yo-Yo and I behind the garage at seven sharp tomorrow morning.΅
Daisy saluted playfully, wandering to her bag and walking in the direction the other students had gone. She could see them filtering into the cafeteria. A smoothie sounded nice…
The canteen was full of students grabbing plates of chicken and veggie tacos. Daisy was always happy during dinner on taco Tuesday. She grabbed her plate and a small green juice and searched for a familiar pair of heads, warm brown eyes and freckles sitting next to dirty blonde curls.
As she approached, two hands went up, waving. Weaving her way through students, she saw Fitz pat the seat beside him.
“Oi, Dais! I've got something to show you!”
Daisy sat down, her attention drawn to the tiny device on the table in front of her. It was small enough to fit in her hand, but surprisingly heavy for its size. Multiple coloured wires stuck out from various surfaces. Fitz was grinning at her with a mischievous twinkle in his eye. He pressed a button on a small remote that sat on the table. Daisy looked over at Jemma, puzzled. Was something supposed to be happening?
Daisy glanced down at her hand. There was nothing there but a constant weight.
“Fitz! You replicated cloaking!”
Jemma and Fitz immediately shushed her, looking around. “He wasn’t supposed to! It’s above his ‘level’. Professor Weaver practically forbid him.”
Daisy’s eyes widened. This was very Fitz. Tell him he can’t, and he will, just to prove it to himself. Holding it up to eye level and moving it around, Daisy marveled at the seamless invisibility. “What are you gonna do with it?”
Fitz shrugged. He began to explain a number of uses for the device, along with the technical modifications he’d have to make for them to work. She tuned out after Jemma exasperatedly told him they couldn’t train monkeys to be invisible recon scouts.
Her plan to learn something from Fitzsimmons banter was derailed when Daisy noticed a shadow at the corner of her eye. It slipped away as quickly as it came, around the corner of the cafeteria and out of sight.
Why was she getting déjà vu?
“Dais, you alright there?” Fitz asked quietly.
Daisy turned back to him, smiling. “Yeah, I thought I saw something. Probably just tired.”
The sandy blonde boy laughed, “S’only Tuesday, Dais. We’ve got a whole week ahead of us!”
“Ugh, don’t remind me. I’ve got six tests this week!” Simmons countered.
Daisy’s mouth opened in surprise, quickly shut when Fitz made a comment about catching flies. “Wait, so you aren’t excited for the tests?”
Jemma shook her head miserably, her amber eyes rolling. “No. Usually I would be, it’s so odd! But I was studying the other night and reviewing old tests, and my chest felt so heavy and my head started spinning—”
Fitz stopped her by putting his hand over hers, gently reassuring her. Watching the two, Daisy thought her heart might burst, a bubbly feeling rising in her chest.
Jemma turned back to her, considerably less distressed.
“Do you want some help studying?” Daisy offered.
Jemma nodded. “Tonight, 8, the rooftop?”
The group nodded.
At eight o’clock, Daisy carefully climbed out her window and around the corner to the fire escape. The stairs whispered and creaked with the wind, but you would never know anyone was climbing the iron to the roof unless you ran directly into her.
She arrived at the last landing, one floor above her own, and crouched down. She jumped, using small quakes as a make-shift propulsor. Jemma turned her head towards the soft thump of Daisy landing on the roof.
The space was decorated with a jungle of potted plants and fairy lights strung around the ledge, mix-matched multicoloured and shades of white. They cast a warm glow across the spread of notes and textbooks neatly placed in front of Jemma. Daisy approached, pulling out her laptop and a pouch of pens, pencils, highlighters, and white-out.
“Ready for our study date?”
Jemma smiled. “Yes. Fitz should be here any minute.”
The two girls got comfortable, beginning to go over notes and chat idly. Daisy wrote down vocab and key ideas on note cards and organised them by subject. Jemma laughed loudly when Daisy expressed her confusion at the difference between the three biochemistries that she was taking. Suddenly, loud clanging was heard from the side of the building.
“Daisy! Jems!”
The two girls shared a glance at the panicked voice. Fitz.
They rushed over to where he would be coming onto the iron landing, grabbing his hand and helping him over the concrete barrier onto the roof.
Fitz supported himself on his knees, panting. “There's a guy down there. Creepy bastard.”
Jemma and Daisy shared another glance, this one full of concern and trepidation.
Fitz pointed to Daisy. “Askin’ about you, Dais. Your…” Fitz trailed off, drawing waves in the air with his hand.
Jemma rested a hand on Daisy’s shoulder, squeezing slightly. “Go check it out, we’ll be here when you get back.”
Daisy reluctantly jumped onto the metal landing below, resisting the urge to use her powers to cushion her landing. She quickly checked the perimeter of the dorm, then wandered closer to the forest that backed up to the dorms.
If only she had night vision as well as the power to create earthquakes.
A subtle movement caught her eye, a dark silhouette shifting in between the trees. A haze of clouds covered the moon, making the forest darker than usual. Daisy stepped forward slowly, her breath speeding up.
The air seemed electric, the few clouds in the sky bloodred with the remaining rays of sunset. The tall pines and thick oaks were silhouetted black against the sky, branches seeming to reach out to grab the twilight shadows. Daisy threw a quick glance over her shoulder, letting out a relieved exhale when she saw Fitz and Jemma watching over her from the roof.
A twig snapped right in front of Daisy, the treeline only twenty feet away. Daisy felt the echo bounce around the forest. She took a deep breath, steadying her hands and lungs. Something, someone, was right on the other side of those bushes…
“AAGH!”
A deer leapt out of the brush, landing right in front of her. Its large doe eyes stared at her, ears back. It was just a fawn.
Daisy slowly let out a sigh of relief, dropping her arms from where they had come up in front of her. She snorted.
“You’re just a baby. What are you doing in the bushes by yourself?”
Daisy tentatively reached out, the fawn showed no signs of moving. She opened her palm, letting the deer sniff before it bounded away across the field.
Daisy sighed. She felt something was off, like you would the moment before you were struck by lightning. Like any second, something else would pop out of the forest, this time a real threat…
Silence.
Stillness.
Daisy sighed, shaking her head and rubbing her eyes. I just need sleep. If the paranoia has set in, I definitely need sleep.
Daisy headed back to the dorms, the feeling of eyes on her following until she was safely on the roof with her friends.
The twinkling fairy lights lit the rest of their evening, shadows and deer forgotten in the warmth of laughs and starlight.

The First Avenger info dump because I can
Enlistment/Dog Tags/Awards:
It is canon that Bucky Barnes enlisted on his own right after Pearl Harbor (and Steve tried). This would make his dog tags a type two. His service number would start with a 1 (enlisted army soldier) and a 2 (from New York). This site can be used to generate dog tag numbers (I haven’t tried all the functions, but be aware the O for officers is a 0 starting in 1942).
During WW2 (amongst other times), there was the Regular Army and the Army of the United States (which no longer exists). Voluntary enlisted men were in the Regular, with draftees in the other (officers were often part of both and had two separate ranks). If you choose to divert from canon and make Bucky a draftee (I personally have always liked this fanon because I’m evil), his service number would start with 32 (drafted, New York). This would also better explain why Bucky rises to the rank of Sergeant so quickly as promotions happened constantly in the AUS ( Dwight D. Eisenhower rose from a colonel to five-star general in three years).
Steve would have a different type of dog tags than Bucky (including a different chain). He would have a type three (as would anyone between July 20, 1943 and March 31, 1944). I will illustrate the differences below with the custom tags I made for Steve's sister and Bucky in my fanfic (feel free to use the info from them). The N and 7 in her tag are for nurse.
The T42 you’ll see below is the year tetanus shots were recieved. I’ve seen some with two years and some with one. The B is blood type and the P is religion.
Steve received an award for rescuing the POWs. Seeing as this wasn’t presented by the president, I’ve decided it was the Distinguished Service Cross. This award comes with a $2 pay raise; as a Captain, Steve previously made $200 a month, paid monthly (post-serum). Bucky made $78 as a Sergeant, with a $3.90 pay raise after 3 years of service (December 1944). Steve also obtained SSR pins after joining them (and I believe the Howling Commandos should have as well). (Even though nurses had the rank of an officer, they didn’t get equal pay until after WW2. They earned $70 a month for the first 3 years.)
Many soldiers put their second dog tag in their boot, usually slipped on the shoe laces in between the tongue and top of the shoe.
Not a fact, but I will add a link here to a website where you can either buy Bucky/Steve’s dogtags or make custom ones for $10 (personally, I would advocate for the custom as Bucky’s say he’s not from NY and show he is a draftee. Also, he has type B blood, not O. And Steve is Protestant, not Catholic. The site also states officer’s service numbers didn’t start with 9, but those with special duties did. His service number would most like be between 800000 and 999999, starting with a 0- to show he’s an officer).

Italian Front:
Seeing as the 107th were venturing to England in June 1943, they most likely headed straight to Sicily from there (or diverged if they had fuel) to aid in the invasion, continuing into the invasion of the mainland before pushing troops back toward Austria. Italy surrendered at the very beginning of the invasion of the mainland, so the Allies only fought Nazis and Italian soldiers loyal to Mussolini (National Republican Army), who was arrested during the invasion of Sicily and broken out during the mainland invasion. Seeing as Chester Phillips and Peggy were with Steve, they must have joined the 107th later. In my canon, they (and Howard) join at the beginning of the mainland invasion.
AM-lira (Allied-Military Currency), 100 "am-lire" for a U.S. dollar, was the currency specifically put into circulation for Allied Military after the landing in Sicily. It was used interchangeably with their normal currency. Once the Howling Commandoes join the SSR, they use British currency.
The 107th’s camp pre-Battle of Azzano was most likely behind the  Volturno Line. Azzano is part of Umbria, which was about 170 miles into enemy territory.
Post-Azzano, the camp was most likely behind the Barbara Line. Walking approx 533 miles from Kreuzberg, Austria, with troops alternating resting periods in the trucks, walking approximately 42 miles for 12 hours a day, they would reach camp in thirteen days.
Random:
Steve’s canon address according to Avengers is 1404 Alameda Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11362. This is a Queens zip code. I changed it to 11237.
As a Sergeant, Bucky would command a squad of 12 soldiers (privates), split into 3 fireteams. He was also assigned a PFC (one of the scout riflemen) as an assistant; this soldier could serve as either the squad leader's messenger to the platoon commander or could be used to relay orders to other squad teams, as needed. Sergeants are responsible for the individual training, personal appearance and cleanliness of their soldiers, and are expected to set a standard for lower-ranked soldiers to live up to.
Women did have their own army sect for part of the war (Women’s Army Corps) but they didn’t go overseas as they didn’t legally get benefits overseas {I didn’t read a lot on this, take this with a grain of salt}. They did all the non-fighting jobs like listening to radio transmissions and fixing weapons.
On the ship, there were three-tier bunks. Enlisted men got footlockers under their beds (you could lift up the base), while officers got standing lockers. I would assume water on ships was cold, filtered from the ocean, and they had showers.
Showers were available but not popular at this time, just like hot water heaters. Many people still boiled water to take baths. People also didn’t bathe as often and there was only one kind of shampoo and no conditioner. Women made their own concoctions, used soap, or straight up would do egg masks. Hair was kept clean by doing the “100 strokes” with a hairbrush that was cleaned after every use. Indoor heating also wasn’t used everywhere, leaving many places still using things like fireplaces and wood stoves.
Soldiers used latrines in WW2. They also used a bucket of water and a bar of soap to wash. When water was unavailable and snow was, it was melted and used. They could also simply use things like rivers and lakes if available but if unnecessary, weren't used as lice was prevalent along with disease. Clothes weren't washed often (depending on the situation, some men went weeks without washing their uniform, only changing into dry socks when necessary) but when they were, they were boiled in big pots of water in mass and hung on a line to dry (there were also other ways, but I preferred this one). They carried an extra shirt, socks and laces, water canteen, ammunition, a spade, grenades, a gas mask, food rations, a cup, a wash kit (toothpaste, razor, comb, etc), first aid pouch, and a helmet (usually on their head) in their haversack's/on their belt (and rations, of couse). There was also a tent pack, but most soldiers would simply carry a raincoat. Lots of candles and oil lanterns to light the night. Canvas water bags – also known as Lister bags – were hung around camps and used for dispensing drinking water in which a dose of chlorine was added for purification.
Medical:
Morbidity from such diseases as tuberculosis (anti-tuberculosis agents didn’t begin to appear until 1949), rheumatic fever, typhus, dysentery, and malaria were high. There were tuberculosis quarantine wards separate from the other patients and were eventually evacuated. Frostbite was also common during the cold. Hepatitis A and B were also prevalent. Trench foot was also common, sometimes leading to jungle rot (often referred to as 'the creeping cruds'). PTSD was known then as 'battle fatigue'; men showcasing symptoms were often just given rest and food near the front lines and would normally rejoin the fight in a few days or were evacuated if necessary. All soldiers were vaccinated against tetanus, typhoid, smallpox, cholera, and yellow fever before shipping out. Dental hygiene was extremely important and many field hospitals were equipped with dental prosthetics.
Food:
A-Rations referred to fresh/refrigerated meats, bread, and vegetables, prepared in mess halls. These meals were basically the same as C-rations, but fresh and always warm.
C-Rations consisted of one M-unit (12 oz can, meat), one B-unit (12 oz can, bread/dessert), and an accessory pack. Each daily ration consisted of three M-units, three B-units, and three accessory packs (one for each meal). The cans were made of tinplate. The cans had a gold lacquer finish. C-rations can be eaten cold or hot and were cooked with a Coleman's pocket stove (which was made specifically for WW2 soldiers).
M-units initially had three kinds: meat and beans, meat and potato hash, and meat and vegetable stew. In 1943, meat and spaghetti in tomato sauce was added; along with meat and noodles, pork and rice, frankfurters and beans, and chicken & vegetables in 1944. 1944 also brought a chopped ham, egg, & potato unit and compressed cereal B-units to replace meat & vegetable hash.
B-units contained crackers, three sugar tablets, loose candy (Brach's chocolate caramels, candy-coated peanuts/raisins, Charms hard candy), and a packet/small can of beverage mix (instant coffee, powdered lemon drink, or bouillon soup powder). Orange drink powder was added in 1944. Due to spoilage, the loose candy was replaced in 1944 with a Brach's fudge disk or a Jim dandy.
Accessory packs (brown butcher paper) contained sugar tablets, water purification tablets, a flat wooden spoon, a piece of candy-coated chewing gum, three 3-packs or one 9-pack of cigarettes, a book of 20 moisture resistant matches, a paper-wrapped P-38 can opener (with instructions that everyone immediately throws out), and about 22.5 sheets of toilet paper. Cigarette brands included Camel, Chelsea, Chesterfield, Craven A-Brand, Lucky Strike, Old Gold, Philip Morris, Player's, Raleigh, and Wings (these were traded constantly). Can openers were meant to be disposable but soldiers wore them on their dog tags for later use either with opening cans or other things (clean muddy boots, screw screws, open letters, strip wires, trim loose thread, and sharpen pencils).
Seriously. They really gave every single soldier three can openers a day. With printed instructions. During metal rationing. Of which soldiers just put them on thier dog tag chains for later use. Where did all these excess can openers go? And why half a sheet of toilet paper?
Clothes:
The nurses wore an olive drab service jacket and skirt (they are seen in pants as well) and cap, khaki shirt and tie, and brown shoes (wore nursing shoes or boots). The rank insignia (a single gold bar for second lieutenants, the vast majority of nurses) was worn on the epaulets. A gold "U.S." pin was worn on each collar, and a gold caduceus with a red N was worn on each lapel. Whenever the service jacket wasn't worn, the rank insignia was pinned to the right collar, the caduceus on the left.
Soldier’s field uniforms looked like this (with some adjustments based on gun used). And yes, the leggings are neccessary, they helped keep feet dry:

Get to know my OC - Hwan
1 – Favorite beverage? Alcoholic: not a fan of alcohol drinks. Are there even any underground?? From mushrooms??? Anyway, it’s probably something neutral like gin or vodka. If it’s import, then white wine. Non-alcoholic: none? He always drinks filtered water…
2 – Favorite flavor? He doesn’t like intense flavors, but something with a hint of sour flavor is a go.
3 – Favorite food? It’s that disgusting worm-extracted JELLO.
4 – Meal of the day? Snacks in the canteen. Because jello…
5 – Food / flavor they hate? SWEETS. Food is dull underground in general, and it is favored to salty than sweet. Plus it hurts the teeth.
6 – Spicy food? NO.
7 – Favorite animal? Ahuizotls. He used to own those otter-doggos with his previous lover, and would like to own one again in the future.
8 – Nightwear? Just underwear, maybe with a tank top. He’d rather wear less suffocating clothes after a stressful day. At home he’s plain naked.
9 – Position they sleep in? On his side, with one hand under the pillow holding an army knife.
10 – Morning or owl person? Night owl. He usually volunteers to take guard duty before sleep out of paranoia, and he often works in late.
11 – Heavy or light sleeper? Definitely light sleeper. He has to stay vigilant on the field, and had some pretty bad experiences in the past regarding his peers abusing him while he was unaware…
12 – On a rainy day? No rain underground, but if he’s stuck at home then he would actually read a history book (probably from an illegal source in Zuian) or a lawyer’s magazine.
13 – Favorite scent / smell? Bane’s hair…
14 – Pefume or cologne? He doesn’t wear any of that patchouli in the army. On a date he applies some decent brand of cologne.
15 – Baths or showers? Showers. Only bathes at Bane, when together.
16 – Cooking? It is expected from soldiers to learn how to prepare venison if they run out of rations on the field, but that’s an emergency situation, and it would be very bland (maybe salted). Baking he doesn’t know at all though.
17 – Favorite time of year? No seasons underground, but probably not spring because they have a lot of flooding after the snow melts, and that means more service work.
18 – Favorite holiday? None (: Most of the holidays are built on propaganda to worship beholders, or anti dragon / -touched which is a big yikes.
19 – Buying or receiving gifts? He likes to secretly gift the ones he love. Anonymously, because these gifts are usually costly or exchanged favors, and he doesn’t want any gratitude in return.
20 – Height? According to my notes, he’s 183 cm, so pretty tall. And massive in muscle weight. He has a presence that’s for sure, and the horns are just an addition. He prefers not to stick out, because being seen makes him a target for cops and black-heads / antis…
21 –Any instuments to play? Unfortunately he didn’t have the opportunity to learn.
22 – Singing voice? He has a very nice, deep bass voice. It’s rare, but he likes to sing to himself, or in a group where he feels welcomed.
23 – Soliloquy? When he doesn’t have to order around useless cadets, he’s very silent in general, and doesn’t speak much, not even to himself.
24 – Music? Not much free time for him to listen to music. But he would dig alternative rock / nu metal, or post rock if he feels emotional. (He also liked the type of punk music Piers’ band produced.)
25 – Friends? It has been very hard for him to make friends, mostly becasue of his heritage. People rather hurt him, so he closed himself in. He needs a friendly extrovert to lure him out of his shell, and once he opens up he is very kind and playful. Due to his rank though he has been distancing himself more and more.
26 – Surprise bday party! He would be very surprised and kind of timid. Only his lovers had ever remembered to give their best wishes, or close friends who would invite him for a drink.
27 – Favorite flower? There is none underground, but I think he would love a poppy meadow, under a sunset.
28 – Wearing jewelry? None, they are in the way.
29 – favorite jewel piece? On formal occasions he would wear a black ornamental pin to tie up his hair in a bun.
30 – Fashionable? He looks a piece of candy in tight leather clothes.
31 – Underwear? For practical matters he wears either elastic boxer briefs, or jock-straps. Simple trunks on off-days.
32 – Makeup? Nah.
33 – Nail polish? Nope.
34 – Haircut? His hair is an entierly different matter. It’s very messy and wavy, and because of his horns it is hard to comb it together. So either he lets it grow down, or shaves it off entirely. With short hair he would look like a sheep… Although a long time ago he had an undercut (which was more comfortable).
35 – Can they whistle? Absolutely! Great at herding the troops together, signaling, and even making a tune.
36 – Braiding hair? He knows how to do a simple loose braid, but nothing complex at all. He’d sooner show you fifty knot types.
37 – Scared of anything in nature? He’s rather more alert than scared, as a professional monster hunter. On the surface if he would ever hear a storm for the first time, it would bring out PTSD, and make him quite frightened.
38 – Death? Numerous times he had found himself at death’s door, so sadly it is not a foreign experience for him.
39 – Getting sick? He would take medications and pretend he’s fine until he passes out, or just brute forces it through the day. Never takes any sick leaves.
40 – Sight of blood? He is used to seeing blood daily, it doesn’t affect him.
41 – Paying the bills? Actually he has a pretty decent salary as Captain in the military.
42 – Satisfied with their occupation? By all means he is very proud of what he had accomplished on his field, but it is not his dream job. Before the Purge, he was actually studying to become a historian. After graduating in law, he had been also interested in becoming a legal practitioner. (In my humble opinion he would be also a great underwear model or porn star u_u)
43 – Are they creative? His work requires to be very strict about routines and trainings. From time to time he likes to change schedules and pratices. In a way he has a creative intelligence to him when operating on the field, and adapting to unexpected situations, solving problems.
44 – Drawing skill? Not really.
45 – Equipement? Usual military garb: uniform, armor and hovercylce on the field, weapons of all type, PDA, gas mask, inhaler, binoculars, energy bars, healing shot.
46 – Sweet tooth? NO.
47 – Gourmet? He has a strict protein-filled diet and doesn’t like to eat junk food. Except for jello.
48 – Can they swim? Yes, he is a good swimmer. Two centuries ago he was gold medal winner worthy in Pentathlon.
49 – Any scars? Many, all over his body, from various combats.
50 – Handwriting? It is surprisingly neat. He used to write a lot by hand as a historian student, and it stuck with him.

Short scenes from Roadside Picnic / Stalker AU. In a way, free to good hands.
It is damn convenient then, Reaper would think, that a young stalker that goes by Jack – just Jack but everyone knows which Jack they mean when they refer to him as such – dressed in worn military fatigues with a faded Overwatch patch on the shoulder – offers to guide them to the settlement. For a hefty sum of money, of course, and only after they pay for the special gear only the kookiest trader (an Aussie, of all things) in the town carries.
Reaper would think that, surely, if not for the fact Jack silently slides into the seat by his side an hour earlier and grabs the cup of badly filtered alcohol waiting for him.
“What do you think?”
“Bad group,” Jack grimaces, and the scar crossing his lips pulls on his skin. “It will be hard. We’ll get to Watchpoint no problem but it’s bad energy. The Zone doesn’t like the look of them. They’ll need a lot of protection.”
Once, long ago, Reaper would have laughed him out of the settlement but that has been before he had seen Jack drunkenly put the gun to his own head and walk away the next day. Or before he had seen Soldier in Pripyat fighting alongside the reds to cull the population of local fauna.
“Wsie znajut Soldata,” Zarya laughed as she threw her arm over Reaper’s shoulders after the skirmish. “Now, come drink, tovarish, to victory nad mutanty for otchizna.”
“Would be a shame if he didn’t take you on because you’ll fry on the first Sparkler you stumble into, Soldier’s picky like that,” Jack rolls his eyes an hour later at Akande’s protests over the list of the required purchases. “Well, not you, apparently, because you can survive one without any gear,” he smirks at Reaper.
He’s not wrong.
Reaper can tell this is going to be a long trip since Jack is already rubbing him the wrong way, and he would be lying if he ever said he doesn’t like that about the man.
*
“Doesn’t look impressive,” Reaper gasps, taking in the black fluid surface wavering in the air. At his side, Jack chuckles mirthlessly and wipes at the grime and blood sticking to his cheek succeeding only at smearing it further. “What?”
“No, nothing, just,” Jack’s voice hitches on every other word when he looks back at him. He shakes his head. “You said this, the same thing, the same goddamn thing, before, here.”
Impossible. Because this, this here, was the first time he had accompanied a group to the very center of the Zone, the place no-one ever came back from except Jack.
“Twenty-six, twenty-six fucking years ago, you made – made a wish – some goddamn fucking wish, and of course, it – it did what it does, it’s the fucking Wish-Granter,” stepping back, Jack lets out a strained laugh. “Just wondering who – who buried me in that shallow grave I had to dig out of, and…”
Twenty-six years, quick math. Reaper feels his fingers trembling, the clods of earth slipping through the gaps between them some kind of muscle memory.
“Doesn’t matter. Make your wish. Make your wish and let’s finish this because I can’t take it anymore. I can’t, and it won’t let me leave.”
*
They leave Ana behind with Reinhardt, to wait for the rescue everyone doubts will come, or their return.
On the second day after they split, just as Gabriel has his back turned, one of the creatures gets Jack – leaving deep gashes on his face and across his chest and stomach. What meager supplies they have left are enough only for basic treatment.
By the fifth day they reach the ruined farmhouse; the building gives an impression of a strange amalgam of separate constructions joined together with thick uneven seams like a patchwork quilt made with different fabrics, only in place of scraps of cloth it’s walls, doors, and windows.
Jack struggles to keep standing as Gabriel checks the instruments.
“Readings are, we’re… Eight GPS coordinates. Each corresponds with…”
“Eight zones,” Jack murmurs, unresponsive fingers trying to unscrew the lid of his canteen. Gabriel takes it from him and hands it back open. “So there’s only one,” he slurs between greedy sips of the remaining water. “One zone in eight places.”
As outlandish as it sounds, it makes a strange kind of sense.
“Let’s set up camp inside, we’re not going to find any place as good as this before the nightfall on the way back,” Gabriel nudges Jack, and maneuvers his arm over his shoulder to support him. If he were on his own he would check out the building and get moving fast but Jack needs rest, and his fever is not breaking, only growing worse. “Maybe the readings will change.”
“Yeah,” Jack mumbles as they slowly make their way through the maze inside, the crumbling concrete crunching under their feet – until he stumbles and Gabriel has to stop for a moment to keep them both steady. “…I can’t see.”
“You’re tired. Just need a nap,” Gabriel mutters through clenched teeth. Past the doorway, in front of them, he can see the room with no other entrances. A few more steps, and with his burden he sinks to the ground.
Above, a glistening indiscernible back shape hovers – its surface a viscous liquid crisscrossed by flowing waves.
“Something’s… here,” Jack leans his head against his shoulder and Gabriel can feel his blazing hot breath, too fast and too shallow, on his neck, lighter and lighter. “Can hear…”
“Doesn’t look impressive,” Gabriel holds him close. Something is coming to its end.
“Show… later?”
“Yeah, later,” the breath is no longer leaving a burning mark on his neck.
The next day Gabriel digs out a shallow hole with his own hands. After he’s done, he plants a plank in the earth and ties two sets of dog tags around it.
He comes back inside and takes new readings trying not to think. If he had been stronger, better, more careful…
A man wakes on the edge of the American Exclusion Zone – the biggest of the eight Zones – just past the military cordon. With no memories, a particular set of skills, and a strange mutation. With no past, only the future.

Metal Slug Past Life Ch 6
They were lucky to find at least one building intact from The Dusk Eater's carnage or let alone still have a roof not ripped to shred. The rain came down in buckets, drumming rapidly on the roof and the on the windows and filling the air with the rumbling of thunder. Tarma leaned against the doorway with his arms crossed, watching the rain fall and taking a puff of smoke from his cigarette and Eri sat in the window sill with one leg dangling out as she watched the downpour too. Marco sat on the floor with Fio, the young lady was already unpacking her lunch box and taking out her sandwiches and tea. She offered some to Marco. He only declined the sandwich but accepted the tea and he had to admit, Fio makes the best tea around and it helps his nerves and calms his mind when he's been doing a lot fighting and deep thinking. He took small sips of the tea, he can hint a flavor of lemon and strawberries on his taste bud and thanked Fio for a cup. He stretches his arms out and got off the floor, “I'm going to take a look around and see if we can salvage what didn't get destroyed.” Tarma nodded and kept looking outside. “Be careful, Marco and stay safe.” said Fio. Marco smiled, “Don't worry, Fio. I'm fine for as long as I have you three and being high alert too.” Marco walked away and turned around a corner. His feet echoed in the long empty corridors, he saw signs of military workers and soldiers who were once here due to the papers and bullets casings scattered all over the floors and doors were left open during the panic. Furniture was tipped over and used as protection from The Dusk Eater's wrath and boy that wrath left scorch marks and claws scratches on the walls or crumbling them down to leave some rooms exposed to the outside world. So far, Marco didn't find anything that is worth taking back to Head Quarters and most of the computers he found were beyond saving due to being crushed, melted, or being overly waterlogged by the gusting wind blowing the rain in. He decided to head back to the Squad when from the corner of his eye, he could have sworn that he saw a sudden flash of light from one of the rooms and goes to investigate. Marco peaked in, gun ready for any ambush inside the room and found nothing but a rift in the middle of the room. Raising a brow, Marco put his gun away and walked towards it, close enough to look yet far enough to have a safe distance from the strange phenomenon before him. He can auscultate beeping of computers, humming of hard drives running, and someone pacing about in a room. Does he dare to look closely or leave it alone in case if it wants to do harm to him? He pondered over this question but it didn't take long when he felt a pair of hands shoving him toward it and a bright light engulfed him once the rift torn widely open. Marco fell to the ground and groaned when slowly getting up. He shook his head and became awestruck to see where he is now. “Wait, did that rift took me back to my Computer lab?” Ever since the war started, the military approved of him to have his own computer laboratory and it was rightly connected next door to his bedroom. Fio was always making a joke about how surprised she is that he managed to keep his room clean but his laboratory a mess. Marco always replies in a joking manner about that's how geniuses get their work done and think better. She is right about the mess of the laboratory. Tables lined up against the walls with laptops and computers all set up and wires strung everywhere and some of them were taped down to prevent tripping from happening. On the opposite side of the room was his work desk where he would take apart computers and guns to fix and clean them or to cannibalize older computers to make new ones. Stacks of books and binders on computers repairs, programming, and all of the codes he wrote in the past overcrowded his bookshelves. He walked toward the door exiting out of his computer laboratory and he was shocked to see his hand go right through the door knob. “Strange. How do I leave this room?” He asked himself as he surveys his computer laboratory. Marco heard a familiar snore and turned his attention to the floor. It was Tarma, fast asleep with his paper reports disorganized. He did recall Tarma being here to help him with the Slug Tank's repair while he worked on the computer programming for it. Knowing his best friend well, Tarma can sleep anywhere and one time when they were out in the mountains, he used a rock as a pillow and from that day on, he kept the rock he slept on. Marco got it now. The Rift teleported him to the past but why here in his computer laboratory? At least it wasn't the day when he made a computer virus for fun and almost launched all the nuclear missiles. A door opened and his past self stepped out of his bedroom. He wasn't wearing his red vest cause as Marco remembered it he took it off due to the late night being hot. He looked down at his tablet that he would normally take with him to keep working while being away from his computer and he walked right through his present self and Marco sighed. “Now I know what it's like to be Alice.” he muttered. Past Marco looked at his computer screen and saw the word success blaring on the monitor and hunched over the keyboard and glide his fingers across the keys, striking every key he put into the computer and he pressed enter. “There, an up to date security system that not even Morden's best hackers can get into.” Marco put his hands on his hips with pride. Present Marco strolled to his computer and looked at the codes he imputed and his eyes widen with shock and stepped away from it. “I know these codes,” he whispers to himself “I didn't create the perfect security codes I created-” The sun was rising over the mountains and stream of light filtered through the room and Past Marco stepped away from the Slug Tank with a bewildered expression on his face. Present Marco was silence and stared at the artificial intelligence before them. She opened her eyes and had the sweetest smile and did a curtsy bow to him. Marco mouthed along the first words Alice said to him. “Nice to meet you! We are able to meet, Master.” said Alice and extended her little hand. Past Marco was still flabbergasted for what he was seeing right before him. He tried to find the right words to say but all he could do is try to touch her hand but to their dismay, his hand went right through hers. Present Marco's curiosity sparked inside him. Remembering the time when Professor, an alien clone of his former self, kidnapped them and probed their minds for any memories they could find and how he was able to touch the hologram as if she was made of flesh and blood. He stepped toward the tank with his hand reaching out. He's certain that his past self won't mind having him walk through him and touched Alice's hand. Disappointingly, it was the same as last time and his hand went through hers and looked down and sighed. He perked up as he witnesses the view around him shattering like glass and swirl and zoom around the dark void. He shields his eyes when they came twirling around him fast and landed all back in their places, taking Marco to another place and it made his heart sank to his stomach. Past Marco is in a one-on-one fight against General Morden and his new Morden Saucer. The battle was fierce between them with strong determination in both men to finish each other off and win this war. Morden wasn't going to give up but Marco got the upper hand and defeated the tyrant and his Morden Saucer. “You're finished, Morden. You're never going to win this war and you're going have to give up.” Morden in agonizing defeat expression changed from shock to a twisted smirk. “That's what you think, Major Rossi. I'm not going to give in all because of a measly Regular Solider puppet told me I should.” He manically laughed and slam his fist on a self-destruct button for his Morden Saucer. It beeped rapidly and Morden grabbed the rope ladder from the Helicopter and took flight. Morden Saucer sprung to life for the last time and charged toward Past Marco at blinding speed. It felt like his whole world came to a slow crawl and silence except for Marco repeatably saying no and begging Alice to stop with tears overflowing from his eyes after she speeds by them and collided with the Morden Saucer. He burst out screaming Alice's name. Reality came crashing down all around Marco and he hit his back against the wall and gasping for air. He clutched his chest, feeling his heart racing, chest hurting and slid down the wall from the weakening in his legs. Sweat dripped down his face and sound of footsteps put him on edge but his hands feel so horribly numb to do anything to fight back if it was an intruder and feeling like a sitting duck. A Panic Attack he thought to himself. When the last time did he have one of these and his mind is too much in a scramble to give him the answer. “Marco!” Fio gasped and ran to his side to help him out. “It's okay, Marco. I'm right here to help you out. Are you having a Panic Attack?” Marco gave her a short nod. “Do you need your medication?” She asked him and he nodded again. She opened up her bag and grab her first aid kit and fished around for his bottle of pills and pulled them out. She read the label and gave him the correct amount of pills and hand them to him. He took the pills and swallowed them and Fio offers her water canteen and helps him steady his hands to wash the pills down. “You're doing a good job, Marco. You can do it.” Fio praised him from all the learning she read up on Panic Attacks. She made sure that the door is shut and the windows were locked to prevent random encounters from happening and quiet down the room as much as she can while staying in Marco's sight. She sat back down with him and asked him to keep lifting his arms above his head till it became a tiring matter and doing breathing exercise with her. She kept praising him and assuring him that there is no danger in this room. Finally, Marco can breath again and his heart is back at a regular beating paced. His chest doesn't hurt and the numbness in his arms and hands went away and Fio hugged him, feeling glad to see him better. Marco gently hugged her back and wiped the sweat away from his brow. “I-I'm sorry to scare you like that, Fio.” said Marco, taking deep breaths to steady his nerves and wiping away any tears he shed. “But thank you for helping me out during my time of need.” Fio smiled, “Anything to help you out. We got worried when you didn't come back and we heard you yelling.” Marco was about to tell Fio why he screamed and there was a loud banging at the door. “Major, are you in there? It's Tarma!” Fio forgot about the door she hurried to the door and unlocked it for Eri and Tarma to come in. “Thank goodness Fio found you. Are you all right, Major?” Marco took care to steady his legs and grabbed hold of a tipped over desk to help lift him back on his feet. “I had a Panic Attack but Fio helped me through it.” Marco replied. “Geez, I can't recall the last time you had one,” said Tarma. “but why were you screaming out Alice's name.” Marco told them the truth, the experience with The Time Rift and what it showed him. Fio and Eri was awe about this and Tarma was deep in thoughts about this and spoke up,”Major, you're not alone on this and I found one like the one you told us back at Head Quarters in a small storage room when I thought I heard a child laughing and running around,” he quietly looked away, “It took me to one of my fondest memories of my grandfather and it shook me to the core seeing him again, alive and well. I don't know what to say or think afterward but it filled me with a desire of wanting to see him again.” “Oh, Tarma,” said Eri, with sympathy in her voice and placing a hand on his shoulder“I didn't know you missed your grandfather so much. Even after he passed on.” Tarma smiled at them, “It's all right, everyone. He passed away peacefully with me and the whole family by his side. But I wonder if we're going to be seeing more of them and what memories they would contain in them.” They were interrupted when Marco's radio crackled to life and calling for them. “Major Rossi, can you hear us? We need you and everyone back at Head Quarters right away. The young man you brought in woke up.”

Build Insect Out Bags at Our Website™
When loading up their survival packs, what types of gear and supplies do you think people focus too much, or inadequate, attention, weight, space, resources, and effort on - and why? The carabiners help keep weight without knots, such as suspending a keep handbag or rappelling from a windows. Plastic bands are useful and frequently used when combining two high-use products together generally, such as a light strapped to a weapon. Pack straps help carry gear externally of your back pack, like a sleeping pad or extra hoodie you find on the way.
But you should also be careful to regularly check any items in your handbag that could expire or need substitute if they’ve been seated for a while. According to the Bug Out Handbag Academy, the origins of insect out bags can be traced to the hand bags that lots of aviators in the military come up with before missions. We were holding first referred to as ‘bail-out bags’ plus they held items that would be crucial for survival if a plane was shot down or experienced critical engine failure. Many WWII aviators actually carried silver or silver bullions in their insect out luggage, as they were (but still mainly are) considered the ‘common currency’.
At first glance, to the experienced survivalist, some of the items we’ve chosen for this category may seem excessive or even impractical. But if you check the average person products we recommend, you’ll see they’re all made compact and light-weight with the backpacker at heart. Your clothes selection will obviously depend on where you are, environment and the other factors listed above.
One liter minimum, per day, per person is recommended. This list could continue for some time and many people would never dream of departing their Insect Out Bag without twice very much, however in a pinch that set up could easily get you by for 3 times.
You should assess your bug out bag every half a year. At this period you’ll want a seasonal collection of clothes that you can swap out when necessary.
Don’t put food in one and water in another, for example. Personally, I really do disagree with the strategies layed out to have one unaltering highly, dedicated, not heavy bugout handbag. My experiences show that can lead to glaring deficiencies for those who actually need area of expertise equipment. Not keeping it in their bugout bag because of weight is potentially more dangerous than having to take the few seconds to remove excess, unneeded specific equipment.
For example, having smoke evacuation masks in California would be a perfect prep for a bugout bag, but add 3-5lbs per person. Per your list, it would be one of the first ever to items to be culled for weight limitations, but that could lead to disaster at 3 am desperate for where it was saved.
” kit, so that as useful supplies if you’re sheltering at home. The whole point of a insect out handbag is that it isALWAYS ready and packed to visit. In a genuine emergency, you might not have enough time to toss those last few items into the bug out handbag that you’ll actually need. So, the short answer to this question would be that the bag should be loaded and ready to go at all times.
you can boil drinking water in. That might be a lifesaver if you only have a known level 1 kit. However, we include everything when proclaiming weights. Don’t double dip, mix equipment with your camping/hiking materials, or take other shortcuts that might stop you from being able to get and go without considering. Area of the whole purpose of a insect out handbag is knowing that it’s ready at all times.
An even 3 BOB would contain all the level 1 and 2 items, plus the known level 3 items, which explains why the summary demands a larger back pack at each more impressive range. So in your situation, if you’ve assembled an even 3 BOB, that’s the first handbag you’d grab. If you experienced time, and you’d set up additional luggage with other stuff (take a look at the article on using a priority-based bag system), you might get one or more of those too. Remember not to spread core needs around multiple hand bags. Every adult bag can stand on its own in case people are separated.
range, the primary factor is less resilience, though many are even convenient than the ILBE. And if you liked the post, and would like your own printable Insect Out Bag List PDF, please be certain a subscription for future updates. We love our subscribers and are sure to make them feel extra special.
In the preparedness community we see a lot of people eager to recommend various products, mostly off-the-shelf, dehydrated, store-bought items. Personally, we recommend a variety of non-perishable foods, some that may require water plus some that don’t. In a real insect out situation, you don’t know how scarce your water source might be. Of everything above, we recommend having at least oneLifestraw or two in your insect out handbag for water filtration.
You can’t assume your party/family will usually together be, so don’t spread critical equipment across bags. For example, it’s an awful idea to have water gear in a single handbag and food in another. Everyone over 10 years old must have their own necessities in the event they get separated. Building a bug out bag (sometimes a “go tote”, INCH bag, 72 hour kit, emergency kit, etc.) is one of the most important steps you should take to get prepared. These loaded and ready luggage provide as your “I have to leave home right now!
And also, if you know of anyone who like this post, please talk about it with your like-minded friends. It’s our objective to help people prepare for the worst while longing for the best. Medical is one particular areas where there are a great number of “done for you” type products out there that just aren’t well-suited for a survival package like a bug out bag. This issue of MEDICAL could warrant several articles easily, but to keep it simple for youtube.com/watch?v=aT-R0Ujc2BE the present time, we have one that we do recommend highly, but of course you can build your own too. Because of this we recommend having at least 3 different method of starting a fire on your bug out bag set of items to pack.
A lot of individuals plan their Insect Out Bag to maintain them for a lot longer than that, but there is always a limit to what you can keep on your back again and a 3 day target is an excellent place to start. The camelcamelcamel site also offers a browser plug-in that makes it super easy to see the price history of an item and create notifications while you’re looking at that item on Amazon, which is convenient extremely. To give you an example, the price of one of the portable power banks recommended on this website normally hovers between $50 and $60, but occasionally drops lower. I arranged an alert at $40, and managed to snag one on the cheap when it fallen to $32 for only a few days. The known levels are a means of prioritizing what is going into the BOB, they don’t represent independent bags.
The only powered items in a L1 package are a headlamp, radio, and phone. Due to how electric battery chemistry works, you should store equipment with around a 50% charge. Check and top up the billed power level during your regular prep reviews. Work with a rigid canteen to store that water so there’s no risk of breakage in your bag. The right container - a single-wall metal canteen - does duty as a vessel double
These compact, light-weight lifesavers filter out 99.9% of bacteria and other harmful microbes from water you could in any other case not drink without boiling or treating in a few other fashion. Another great facet of this ongoing company is that with every purchase, they help provide clean water to impoverished countries through their collection of purification products. Arguably the most crucial bug out bag essentials are related to hydration and water. The body can go without drinking water for only 72 hours, whereas it can go without food for about 3 weeks. Water can be an absolute will need to have in your bug out bag.

Bug Out Bag Essentials: Necessary Items for Your BOB
Bug Out Bag Essentials
With every bug out bag, there are certain essential items that you need to have in order to have what I would consider to be a functional bug out kit.
What are bug out bag essentials? Bug out bag essentials are those things that should be in every bug out bag. They are the bare minimum requirements for a bug out bag to be viable. The following items are necessary for any bug out bag:
Backpack
Water
Food
Shelter
First Aid Kit
Looking at the list above, you’ll notice that it’s a lot shorter than other bug out bag lists that you’ll find on the internet. It’s even shorter than my bug out bag article. Let’s look at why this list is so short. [wc_toggle title=“Table of Contents” padding=“” border_width=“” class=“” layout=“box”]

[/wc_toggle]
The Minimum That Every Bug Out Bag Should Contain
There are certain items that every bug out bag needs to have in order to be effective and provide you with the minimum things that you’ll need when you’re forced to bug out. These are:
The backpack itself
Water and a water filter
Food to keep you going
Shelter to protect you from the environment
Personal first aid kit
This list may seem like it’s too short, especially if you’ve been looking at other bug out bag articles. Just keep in mind that we’re discussing the bare minimums that you need in a bug out bag. These items form the base that you can then build from.
Backpack
The backpack is the thing that the rest of your bug out bag is going to revolve around. In one way it’s the least important part of your bug out bag, and to a certain extent, it’s the most important. That’s probably a little confusing but it’s the truth.
The backpack is the least important part of your BOB because it doesn’t do much to keep you alive and moving toward your goal of getting to your bug out location. It just holds the other items that you’ve put together that are supposed to do those things.
The reason that you can consider it the most important is that it’s the one item that’s in contact with your body the entire time that you’re traveling. You don’t need to get the most high speed and expensive backpack out there, but if you really skimp on it, it can cause you to get fatigued a lot more quickly or even rub you raw on the extreme side of things.
What to look for in a backpack
The specific type of backpack that you’re going to want is going to depend on where you’re bugging out from.
If you live in the city, or even in the suburbs, you probably want to look for a backpack that’s common in that kind of environment. Ask yourself these questions when choosing a backpack for bugging out of the city:
What type of backpack would someone take to the gym or carry to work?
What colors or patterns won’t draw attention to me while I’m walking down the street?
Is this backpack large enough to hold everything I need, but small enough to not attract too much attention on the street?
Will this backpack still work well once I’ve made it out of the city and into a rural environment?
In an urban environment choosing a pack is based on not drawing attention to yourself and blending in with the crowds of people that are likely to form in the event of a major disaster. You don’t want to end up being the target of criminals or those that are desperate for food and water.
If you live in a rural environment you’re going to have different needs than someone in the city. You can focus almost entirely on function and don’t really need to worry about drawing too much attention to yourself. Camo patterns and oversized packs will draw less scrutiny in the country than they would in the city. Ask yourself these questions when choosing a backpack for bugging out in rural areas:
Is the material strong enough to stand up to rough use?
Does the color/camo pattern of the pack match the areas that I’ll be bugging out in?
In a rural environment choosing a pack is all about blending in with the environment and being strong enough to not tear if it gets snagged on brush and trees if you happen to be moving through a lot of vegetation.
Water
Running out of water is one of the quickest ways to die in a survival situation. For your bug out bag, you’re going to want to have at least two 1 liter bottles full of water and a way to filter more water as you come across it.
I like having metal water containers so I can boil water in them if I have to, but it’s really up to you. Any kind of Nalgene bottle or collapsable canteen will work as well.
For water filtration, you can go with something as inexpensive as a LifeStraw and be just fine. Katadyn and Sawyer also make good water filters that are great in a bug out bag.
Food
Food isn’t as important in a bug out bag as you may think. You can go for a long time without food and survive, but not having food will make cause you to start feeling weak after a few days.
Keeping some ER Bars in your pack is probably good enough to keep you going through your entire bug out, but you can always add more food if you want. Try to stay away from these types of foods in your bug out bag:
Food that needs to be cooked
Food that needs to have water added to it
Canned foods
Try to choose foods that don’t need to be prepared. The more time that you spend time cooking, the less time you’re moving toward your bug out location. Snacks and energy bars that you can eat while you continue walking are good choices.
Shelter
Having some kind of shelter is important to every BOB. How important it is will depend on the type of environment that you live in.
Shelter doesn’t have to be a tent, and probably shouldn’t be a tent for most people. A simple poncho is probably good enough for most people traveling in warmer climates. Colder climates are going to take more shelter.
A quality tarp is a good multi-function shelter. It can function as a tent, poncho or even be used to catch rainwater. As temperatures drop, you can add a lightweight sleeping bag in addition to a poncho or tarp.
Keep in mind that your clothing is also part of your shelter. Your jacket and any other layers may be enough to keep you warm overnight without adding the extra bulk and size of a sleeping bag.
First Aid Kit
You need to have a first aid kit with you to treat any cuts, scrapes or wounds you may pick up while you’re bugging out. Small cuts can easily get infected and any wound that is bleeding obviously needs immediate attention.
My preferred loadout for when I want a good all-around first aid kit and the ability to treat trauma is the Adventure Medical .5 Kit, the Adventure Medical Trauma Pak, and the SWAT-T Tourniquet.
You can add more to your first aid kit, but these are the minimums that you should have with you.
Items to Add to Your Bug Out Bag to Make it Better
That’s the minimum amount of gear that you need to have a bug out bag. Consider adding the following to round out your BOB and make it more effective:
Extra socks
Headlamp
Knife
Baby wipes and toothbrush/toothpaste
Lighter
Maps of the local area/GPS
Signal mirror
550 cord
Shemagh
Is a Bug Out Bag Necessary
One of the common questions that pops up every time I talk about building a bug out bag is, “Do you need a bug out bag?”
Asking if a bug out bag is needed is certainly a valid question. After all, it can be a pretty big initial expense if you’re just getting into prepping and don’t have some of the things that you need.
I really do think that having a bug out bag is a necessity, but it doesn’t have to break the bank. You can scrounge most of the things that you need from around the house and anything that you don’t already have, like a good first aid kit, are things that you should have around anyway.
Look at your bug out bag as the base of your other preparations. Pretty much everything in there is just as useful when bugging in as it is when you’re bugging out!
Conclusion
Bugging out should be approached in a similar manner as a military-style patrol. Take the minimum amount of gear that you need to accomplish the mission. Can you take more than that? You can but everything that you add to a bug out bag makes your trip that much more difficult and miserable.
Nice to have items don’t really have a place in a bug out bag. Those items should be at your house or prepositioned at your bug out location, not in a bag on your back as you try to escape a disaster of some kind.

Mira Safety CM-6M Gas Mask Review
One of the first instances of chemical warfare in recorded history dates back to April 22, 1915. On this date, German soldiers attacked their French counterparts with chlorine gas at the Second Battle of Ypres (1). As a result, the development of military gas masks began shortly thereafter. But gas masks were already being used to provide breathable air to firemen, underwater divers, and miners, as well as to meet other needs that were unrelated to warfare.
Although military, security, and law enforcement personnel often carry a gas mask as part of their equipment arsenal, there are many civilian uses for them as well. In this article, we’re going to review one of the best gas masks on the market today, the Mira Safety CM-6M.
Mira Safety CM-6M Overview
Click here to buy the CM-6M Now!
If you’re really interested in buying a gas mask, there are A LOT of reasons why you shouldn’t go cheap. But the most important one is that some cheap gas masks won’t work when you need them most. For an item that can eventually be as critical to your health as the simple act of breathing every day, a cheap gas mask isn’t much better than no gas mask at all.
The Mira Safety CM-6M gas mask meets the European standard for respirators (EN 136:1998 CL3) and can be used in a variety of applications including, but not limited to, industry, agriculture, police and rescue squads, civil defense, fire departments, welding, construction, painting, and military special forces.
It is a full-face respirator that functions in combination with a suitable gas filter or breathing apparatus. It comes in a universal size and protects the user against carbon, biological, radioactive, and nuclear (CBRN) agents that can appear in the form of gas, vapor, aerosol, or radioactive dust-based toxins.
CM-6M Product Specifications
The facepiece of the CM-6M is made of bromine-butyl rubber and the visor is fully polycarbonate material. The mask boasts a minimum general field of vision of 70% of normal and a minimum binocular field of vision of 80 percent of normal. It also boasts a 95% success rate when it comes to maintaining the intelligibility of the wearer’s speech, which is critical for teams that need to communicate effectively on the fly.
This Mira Safety gas mask features a round filter connection thread that measures 40-millimeters by 0.143 inches. When it comes to breathing resistance at a standard airflow of 30 liters per minute, the CM-6M boasts a maximum inhalation resistance of 30 Pa (Pascal) and maximum exhalation resistance of 60 Pa (2).
CM-6M Key Features
One of the most impressive features of this gas mask is that it boasts a total shelf life of 20 years. Although you’ll have to replace the actual filter cartridges more frequently, this gas mask is designed to last. It fits standard 40-millimeter filter cartridges, which is great because they’re one of the more available cartridge types out there.
The CM-6M’s facepiece meets CBRN protection standards and is made with a full-face panoramic design. Its large visor enables a wide-angle view and minimizes field of vision loss, which is critical in all tactical situations. This gas mask comes compatible with most law enforcement or military helmets and also includes a pre-installed hydration system and canteen. If you don’t want to use the included canteen, it’s also compatible with CamelBak water bladders that feature a Type A or Type M adapter.
Mira Safety didn’t stop there though. They put this gas mask through rigorous testing to make sure it was resistant to mustard gas penetration for nearly 30 hours. And they installed a hypoallergenic inner mask made of silicone, which prevents fogging under hard-use conditions. Again, this is a feature that proves indispensable when you’re in the heat of the moment (literally!) and losing an ounce of visibility can mean the difference between the right decision and a potentially disastrous one.
Finally, perhaps the best metric for the efficacy of this Mira Safety gas mask is its widespread use by government entities around the world. In addition to conforming to European quality and sustainability standards (which is why it’s marked with the formal CE symbol) (3), this gas mask is used by Ministries of the Interior or Defense in the Czech Republic, Turkey, South Africa, Romania, Lithuania, and a host of other nations. It’s also used widely for industrial purposes in Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, and Poland.
CM-6M Storage Recommendations
If you decide to purchase the Mira Safety CM-6M gas mask, it’s important to know how to store it properly. Improper storage of any gas mask will compromise its efficacy so that it doesn’t function as intended when you finally need it. For starters, all CM-6M masks should be stored in a cool, dark, dust-free environment.
You should be careful to keep your gas mask from being exposed to any sudden temperature changes and make sure your storage room is well ventilated. The ideal temperature for storing this gas mask ranges from 10 degrees to 25 degrees Celsius (50 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit) and you should shoot to maintain a relative humidity near 65% wherever the gas mask is stored.
Additionally, your gas mask should not be exposed to any radiant heat or sunshine when in storage and it should be stored separately from any fuels, solvents, lubricants, chemicals, and other inflammable substances on your property. You’ll also want to keep it a reasonable distance away from any electric machines or appliances that produce electric sparks or discharges during their operation (this is known as ozone creation) (4). Finally, you should be mindful to store your gas mask in a way that doesn’t cause any deformations of the rubber parts of the facepiece and internal mask.
Summary
