#listening to the presidential podcast was a mistake #because i live in a constant state of wanting to share all the cool history #and it is not socially acceptable to chase people down shouting 'let me tell you about zachary taylor!!!'#i have cautiously mentioned small details that came to mind #to a few very uninterested people #but i was still bursting with so much trivia #and then i finally got the chance to talk to my history nerd brother #and spill everything #(i was very sneaky in that i planned to only tell him about millard fillmore)#(but then i snuck in the more elaborate zachary taylor stuff as pertinent backstory)#he actually found it interesting!#he asked clarifying questions!#he engaged with the material #after i was done i felt such a sense of relief #at last i can rest #knowing that someone else understands how interesting this forgotten section of american history is
