This year, Sherlock Holmes indeed joined Dracula Daily.
Watch him hunt the mysterious "Count Dracula", who looks suspiciously close to a certain detective!
Thank you lovely @windmaedchen , my most favourite Sherlock Holmes artist, who has done me the unimaginable honour of drawing my version of Holmes (still can't believe it 😭 I am such a fan of them 🥰. Thank you thank you! 🥹), standing right next to our favourite Vlad Voda, now hiding in London under a pseudonym in the 19th century. And, well, it wouldn't be Holmes if he didn't figure out there's some strange existence joining the London underground. Surprisingly though, the vampiric Voievode is not the bloodthirsty psychopath one might think.
Here you have them, joining forces to solve the final case: What's going on? Who really is this Mina Murray? And most importantly: where the hell is Jonathan Harker?

that poor fellow down there is of course poor dear Watson, who had to listen to twice the insanity than usual and it took a toll on him

There's something in these lines from Mina and Holmes respectively
“Because if I find in myself – and I shall watch keenly for it – a sign of harm to any that I love, I shall die!”
“Let me pay you one in return when I say that if I were assured of the former eventuality I would, in the interests of the public, cheerfully accept the latter.”

Mina's last name was Murray.
In the very beginning of A Study in Scarlet, Watson mentions an orderly named Murray who saved his life.
I saw a post somewhere suggesting that Murray was Mina's father. I really like that idea. I would want to write a fic about it, only I have no idea what it would be about. All I can think of is Murray dying of his injuries, and asking Watson to make sure whatever money he has goes to his daughter, so Watson arranges it that Mina gets sent to school so she'll be taken care of and can later provide for herself, with whatever she inherited from her father paying for her tuition (and Sherlock Holmes generously donating a few years later when Watson mentioned how the daughter of his old friend didn't have enough left of her inheritance to complete her schooling).

If I had a nickel for every adaptation of a heroine from classic literature who is depicted as having lived for over a hundred years and into the 21st century, is now blind and has powers giving her visions, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's fun that it happened twice.
Irene Adler, originally from the Sherlock Holmes short story 'a Scandal in Bohemia' by Arthur Conan Doyle, in various X-Men comics.
Mina Harker, originally from 'Dracula' by Bram Stoker, in the 2009 TV series 'Demons'.

Do you wanna be my boyfriend? Do you wanna be my boyfriend? Do you wanna be my boyfriend? Do you wanna be my boyfriend?
You're not just any type of girl My one true love And you're my world
Something about the nebulous nature of gender across three of my favorite classic characters and the ones who love* them.
*Love here including the good, the bad, and the gothic.
Pictured top to bottom:
Irene Norton, formerly Adler, and Godfrey Norton of Sherlock Holmes' "A Scandal in Bohemia"
Jonathan Harker, Dracula, and Mina Harker, of Dracula
Henry Clerval, Victor Frankenstein, Elizabeth Lavenza, and the Creature, of Frankenstein

Mina really read Lucy's memorandum about a wolf attack, bought London newspapers dating back that day after, found a report about a zoo wolf escape, connected the dots, and clipped it out.
Lady journalist! Or lady Sherlock Holmes.

Start reading Episode 1
Dialogue transcripts:
Panel 1
Watson: Speaking of new friends, I daresay the group was as queer as the case! It seems to me you didn’t even find the invisible fellow the most curious of them.
Holmes: Ah, you noticed that, did you?
Panel 2
Holmes (voiceover): Indeed, they’re quite a peculiar gathering… many traits to spark the curiosity.
Panel 3
Watson: That aside, I am glad you were able to meet Irene Norton again, under less dubious circumstances.
Holmes:  As am I. That wasn’t my proudest moment, was it?
Panel 4
Holmes: I’m relieved that she has asked me to stay in touch.
Watson: Oh? So she and her husband are settling down in London?
Panel 5
Holmes (voiceover): They are; and she has stated, quite firmly, that I owe them a proper wedding.
Panel 6
Holmes: I have composed a list of venues to suggest to the bride. Do help me compose my reply?
Watson: Of course! Let me fetch the writing-paper…
Panel 7
Holmes (voiceover): Dear Mrs. Norton, I am writing to tell you…

I just want to say for anyone unaware- 1897 is in the middle of the Great Hiatus, so Jonathan and Mina have to deal with Dracula all while living in a world without new Sherlock Holmes stories.

I know I am oldmanyellsatcloud.jpg but I keep finding such titles over and over: Sherlock Holmes vs Lovecraftian horrors. Sherlock Holmes encounters werewolves. Sherlock Holmes vs ghosts. Sherlock Holmes and awakened English evil and benign beings. Sherlock Holmes gaining inhuman senses and ability! Pedestrian. Holmes is for the mundane. There is a self-made detective who has experience in cornering supernatural beings and making sure they're destroyed. 4 in her first try. And she wrote the book about it! Bet she can have her boys deal with evil mad alchemists, too. Make novels about her being a horror magnet and bloodhound instead of more of the same Sherlock vs the supernatural or her wanting to cheat so badly because she's Girl challenge
Sadly I think because Sherlock is forever stamped as The Detective of All Literary Time. The most we can expect from mainstream lit is either more of his crossovers or regrettable works like Moore's LOEG or faux feminist lit where Mina's turned into an Everygirl Girlboss OC with all the men around her turned into idiots and jerks (except for Count Fuckula).
But @lxgentlefolkcomic is doing good work when it comes to giving Mina the detective cred she deserves, plus a lot of love for all the crossover business! (It's made by people who actually read, enjoy, and understand the classic work they're using. What a concept.) Other than that, I will be trying my best to do right by her in my own scribbles 🫡
