an update and primer:
so the last winter was weird. I had a complete breakdown, went into psychiatric hospital for 40 days in total. two seperate times.
learnt a heap of new things, met a tonne of cool people and had amazing conversations and few fights but overcome my own demons by that.
brain speaking-I have a scarred brain stem and neurological disorder is not a mental diagnosis, but a neurological disorder, proven by MRI scan, ADHD.
also damage to my basal ganglia, and prefrontal cortex.
neurological diagnosis means ADHD is not a "mental" health issue, as some believe, rather a neurodevelopment disorder caused by structural differences in the ADHD brain.
other neurodevelopment disorders include: Tourettes, Autism, Cerebal Palsy, Dyslexia and other Motor and Intellectual Disabilities. (Which recieve, in my view, a lot of insight, media information and stigma reduction by the advocacy networks surrounding these types of disability).
Over the last few years Autism has been over everything, I've seen mainstream media cover Tourettes and yet ADHD is still HUGELY misunderstood, misconceived and misrepresented in media, be in from the angle of documentaries, personal insight of a "typical" case, films, tv, and other media.
one of the first things my dr told me was "in females it rarely presents as hyperactive red-cordial OD child"
which is what my mother BELIEVES, that is because I have an adopted cousin with the ADHD dx who was that growing up, but the representation I'm told is also divergent for women with a higher IQ score than the average IQ. I come in around 142 and tested 123 at age 3 when I was unable to focus, pay attention and had severe trauma. I tested 142 in grade 8.
I'll share my experience as a female who is intellectually gifted, with higher IQ than average, and an adhd brain:
I've been told gifted and talented "genius" children are harder to diagnose because the symptoms present differently, we hide it better (camouflage) and our focusing can be "faked" by mediocre efforts of academic success.. this is true, I would do the assignment the Sunday night hours deadline, last minute, or have my parents half do it for me, plagiarise it (fuck I've killed my whole academic career now) copied but changed my words
from old 1970s encyclopaedias I KNEW they couldn't cross reference (I went through 15 years of school never studying doing homework or assignments and still had top grades).
I literally did not listen, and spent my classes planning the end of the world survival strategies with my GT friend who, basically helped me with my calculus and hard fucking maths, which was the ONLY 50 minutes of the day I put attention into my work.
now I'm going to be heading back to full-time study in the coming months, I get anxious as the pressure of a Bachelor level degree, and the pressure it takes me to perform, is enough to break me down. I've been advised it might be wise to start light (like a basic vet style diploma) and then build up, which is logical, but I keep thinking I'm meant to be doing my thesis by now. which is the kind of pressure one gets as a kid who is told repeatedly, "your intelligence is exceedingly the average and you can do ANYTHING you want"
I wanted to be an astronaut, a storm chaser, and an architect, a town planner and then a journalist. I always held to being a "FBI agent" or spy (I wonder why). so when I found psychology is really a blend of all these things, I kinda found a niche in a psych and social science double degree. but I'm thinking my academic career is LIFELONG, and due to the fact I also want to work in my field alongside my many written thesis coming, I'll be in academics for a long time. I may fail a few things, which I have to come to terms with. I do not fail easily, or readily, but I'm a perfectionist type-a academic who will put my whole life on the line to achieve "merit". I get exams, I get assessments, I read journals super-easy, I talk the talk and walk the walk so well psychologists who are at masters level compliment me on my "knowledge".
when it comes to mental health and trauma, I will always have the personal attachment, called lived experience, which will make failure and burnout, 100 percent realistic. I have to boundary up, bootstraps on, and prepare that yes, my personal "bias" will probably be entwined in this.
which is why I'm looking at the social science for the statistics and thesis writing side of things, and the counselling for the trained therapist side. either way, the degree of counselling requires so much self-insight, and then the social-science will back me away from personifying it. the other choice is criminology, which leads to forensic psychology, which is eternally fascinating. my main concern is the pro-pedophile content Ill be up against, which will look at the anatomy of a shoplifter akin to the devil, and leave the pedophile in the DSM-5 dx "paraphilia" box.
I'm not joining or jumping to anything.
either way I've got 2 year of credit, a heap of pathways and a lot of "academic momentum" from all my life being aimed to be "academic powerhouse". I went through my files and found a lot of awards I'd won in my high school, and top place in the competitions we would be entering in. I remember feeling so sad if I had a "credit" vs a distinction or high distinction, only to see now, a credit in university maths in year 9 is a skillset I don't have anymore so, good on me. or a credit in English, or Science at that age was pretty impressive, considering these tests were random and not studied for.
just a general skills assessment only the top 30 kids in the year were to take on a year by year basis and put out to vet from the top universities and taken by other kids in the same grade around the state.
it puts so much focus on my intelligence, because it's primed to be that way, I know that is true. I know I feel good being academically successful and it gives me a feeling of "achievement" but is it really for me?
I also found 2 letters from my local politicians offering me job placement, work experience and I was 1/4 kids in my 10th grade graduation tom get the letter, and due to my behaviour I pissed ALL the idiots who bullied me off. I was "too pretty to be a nerd" "too smart to be pOpUlAr".
so I made a group of misfits, who are all highly intelligent, creative and my group had the ONLY gay male in the school AND THIS IS BEFORE YOU FUCKING RETARDS MADE IT "COOL". he was bullied badly, so fuck you, you fucks claim "liberalism" but I bet you were the type of idiot who bullied guys like him in high school while you pretended to like my chemical romance and fake cut yourselves. I hate you all, forever.
my grade was full of idiots who were fake emo, who left the scene the moment the scene changed to dub-step and club music. I was there, watching you all, like sonny Moore, went from FFTL to that dubstep skrillex shit he started in 2009.
I dated you, hooked up with you and I went to your gigs. I know who was real and who was fake. I met some of you years later and realised the more emotive ones were the less "alternative appearing".
I can say 1/10000 emo guys from the 00s were genuinely Into the music and scene for the right reasons based on my dating history and this can and will be analysed statistically using SPSS one day to prove a lot. I've had too many relationships from each sub-culture and I have had 4-11 males at a time per public "output" of my energy pursue me over life.
I'm not being cocky when I say I have a long line of "suitors" and its banked back about 50 men. it's been a thing I've avoided as it seems to grow based on my body shape, attitude, appearance, so I am currently out of touch with dating scenes, no interest to try that ANYWAY, given the fact that I have had so many LONG TERM relationships ANYWAY. I can't see another one going well, and at this case, I'm living with an ex but we never went on conventional and now our families label this 3 things: "asexual", "polyamorous" and "open relationship". I'm also "bisexual" but this all to humans outside, looks ridiculous on paper. (wild orgies and lots of swinging or some stupid sex magick probably is what J brother literally thinks we do).
bc humans are intrinsically designed to need to label things they don't understand. we share a lease, not a relationship, and fucking polyamorous, I WISH. there are no girl-girl-guy 3 some, or orgies, or sex magic parties.
this has changed the attitude and perception of this "relation' which Is non-romantic, non-sexual. he can date and likely, will, as can I , and I likely won't date.
I would say 14/15 have had ADHD, or other mental illness and or trauma. which means to me, nothing at all.
I think this "open book" non romantic relationship style of "friends and roommates" not sexual.
attachment is misunderstood by others but works well fro my adhd, meaning I'm not expected to marry, or be a wife in any capacity. he is free to do what he wants, as I am, and open communication is a novel frontier I brought into this in the start, and stayed with for the duration. we fight, but I fight with a lot of people in my life over many petty things. also down to my adhd, I believe, I have rejection sensitive dysphoria, which makes me hypersensitive to rejection, perceived or real.
im not sure if this is trauma or adhd or both. but
I have used sexuality as a weapon in many relationships but it cannot or will not be used here, so I have had to resort to uncovering parts of myself which I never knew, which will stay with me even if he decided to marry and wife up in 5 years, which I'm okay and expecting him to do, and I would much rather that then be trapped in a situation where I cannot be that "wife/mother archetype" as I'm too "femme fatal/other-woman/sex-laced seductress and siren" a "FWB, unicorn, drug buddy, hook-up where im a therapist" or "intellectual and cognitive mind-bender work-study obsessed woman".
both at once and many types of human, including one who is a full-time ceremonial magician of 7 years. I will drink, drug, fuck, fight like males and still be more feminine and high maintenance than 89% of women. I grew up a tomboy and don't mind getting into fun, adventure based situations, like hiking, or anything adrenaline, I would only be reluctant to eat weird shit.
I also have many "neurological" issues including ADHD, and trauma which causes a rupture in the average human and I dating.
I'll tell you how many men have said "you are the unicorn" and then realised what that means, I went as far as canvasing the PUA world back in 2014 after reading the game, a book on PUA, which is essentially, pick up artistry, based on NLP and hypnosis. I did this after reading the copy my ex in 2008 handed me before we dated saying "I gave this up for you". it took me years to open the book, buy when I did I truly believed the only way I would fall in love again, was through PUA. that failed in so many ways but gave me a training foundation for men who were candidates for that, I have trained up J, and the way that sounds is BAD. I know, but I got a lot of value myself, I just don't see it how I wanted to see it.
but that was my original intent, and I achieved this he knows that, knew it was happening and evolved for the best self.
I am thinking we can modulate this into a business model for how I was operating in the BDSM world was mainly psychological, not physical.
I get told all of is incredibly intimidating (I am told) to women and men.
I don't really care anymore, because people have always seen this part of me in the wrong way ANYWAY, but I own who I am NOW. which is what I needed ANYWAY. so it cannot be stolen again, and sexual healing has come from abstinence ironically.
I also don't care what or who is trying to tear up my relations, toxic or not toxic, all people around me will be on a healing journey by default, or cut out of my life, for I am radiating that energy so brightly its impossible NOT to feel that pull.
I will drag your shadows into the light, and make your secrets spin from your lips into my consciousness. its not what I do but its what is design.
I make your weaknesses mountains to climb over. you cannot hide from these in my presence, I won't be this controlling or obsessive female who wants 24-7 attention as I have a life full of meaning without love or sex. I don't want to be wined, dined or expensively gifted, unless specially requested.
I don't want love letters or romantic declarations, this isn't some femnazi bullshit, but it triggers me. I appreciate the efforts and won't make you feel bad about your insecurities, for mine are probably 30 x more pronounced.
I appreciate small things, that most males won't or don't know how to do. like remembering things I've said and being thoughtful. or knowing my silence isn't personal, or a game, but a protective wall. I've had songs sung too me, guitars played, songs written, or things made in ways that are heartfelt. but I've always had them used against me too. so it is the context. I value time, energy, conversations of depth and reciprocal exchange. I also value trauma understanding, my alters and fragments being accepted and valued as me as a whole and a person who is not afraid, or scared of stupid stuff like sensitivity, emotions, feelings as raw as my own. men feel intensely too, lol.
but will only give oral sex 100 times before I don't recieve it, I can communicate now so that wouldn't happen.
but I won't be a bitch about this stuff. I am extremely feminine and care in ways other people, do not, I forget nothing people tell me, so it can be a reward or reverse uno card pull in a fight, but I am not evil or deviant in my relations. I react, depending on how you treat me. I don't need your money, or providing source of income to be okay as I am my own queen, however sharing resources is okay to build something. I don't need to be seduced, but will need to be shown a person is trustworthy.
few cross that.
that will always be time-endurance and testing. there are ground rules I don't play with, or play games. or like being forced or forged into something I'm not. I know abusive and I know safe, and I am a psychology expert, trained psychotherapist and study humans for fun, so I'll always be analysing things.
and I know red flags and I know ego, I know how to placate and please and pleasure, but will only do so, for a bigger and better reason than the mere act of seduction. which is without value and transactional to someone like me, I won't lie.
and I know every tactic in the book, for the book was written by someone like me, many lives ago, and my karma is being burnt for that book.
in terms of walls, I have many, may it be called a maze. or labrnyth.
I will teach you things you never thought you'd know, and change your life in ways you won't ever be able to go back to before. I will blow your mind, sexually, emotionally, intellectually, on all levels, and I'll make your friends and family love me.
I'll bring your walls down and you won't be able to understand this, because you don't understand me, and thats ok.
but I'll always understanding you and make your life better because thats what I do anyway, and people talk to me about things I will never share, as I keep secrets. I am jealous, of everything but, only because I am attached in a disorganised way, and working on that.(I won't even mention how man women or men don't know basic psychology of themselves). I also am a therapist , for my friends and family too.i should not be , but I am. I care, I listen, If you think I'm not listening, I'm still listening. sometimes I interrupt, because I have ADHD and I am horrible at resolute planning, or being "normal". but I don't want to be normal anyway. I need you to recognise and understand my shit, for that is what I do for everyone in my life, and I have helped more than I receive.
I'll probably accidentally give you therapy, but thats fine, because you will uncover your depths and find meaning in this. it's not something that goes bad unless you are fundamentally, evil, even the most abusive relationship I was in, was benefited from this process. yes he's still narcissistic, but he is self-aware. and did I benefit, never, just know the anatomy of self-proclaimed narc and I still can't hate him. will get my civil claim one day.
I will fuck your mind without meaning too. but thats because I fuck my own mind. but the meaning is made in the man- some find this highly offensive or personal (its not). I fuck minds by my own overthinking, or over perception on many levels of reality. so join the ride, or don't come along at all. because once the rollercoaster is in motion, I have no control of what may or may not happen. it's purely experimental.
I am experimental.
and the women who are judging me, are not any better.
look within, and shut the fuck up. self-improve and quit this jealous divide and conquer bitchiness. I HATE gossip, bitches, snitches and fakers.
I look to other women who are intellectually, physically and spiritually "individual". and find value in superior status to my own, which is something my narcissistic ex taught me.
I look for mentors, and teachers and people who will teach me how to improve myself, which I am fearful to reconnect after something is amazing and I can't give anything back of positive value. I am sorry I am working on that.
I won't devalue those below me, but I also need to be mutually benefiting from a relationship.
I dont drag people down, I may disappear if I feel I am doing this by mistake. I am flakey as fuck, and sorry for that. its anxiety and lack of perfectionism, so I am wrong and bad for this. I can change. will change.
if you can find value with my relation, personal professional or romantic, we can move into a symbiotic beneficial agreement based on mutual "terms". but many won't or cannot see this, nor do I impose my bullshit into the lives of randoms at this age.
I don't care if this is cruel, it's real.
I value loyalty, compassion, self-insight/awareness, someone who understands all parts-spirituality, metaphysics while still having intellectual & logical & analytical brain-sight.
I enjoy music, magick and learning new things.
I do not care about appearances I dont think ive dated based on one time. I do value connections and chemistry which is far-few between, I hate fakers. I smell insincerity miles away. but I do respect women who are well-presented, or beautiful, with hair beauty and makeup, I can't do this shit well, so I look up to those who are in professions who do it like art. I find them to be genius level queens who scare me.
I call out bad behaviour and make people uncomfortable if they are repressed. I will change you without even meaning too, I don't even need to date you. its just my presence, over time, amplified by the intensity of the dynamics.
I don't want simplicity, but I also don't need over complexity.
I value passion, independence, creativity, curiosity, problem-solving, deep-disscussions, shared adventures and some occasional risk-taking (lol), sensuality and sexuality for a common cause beyond physical pleasure. I like being taught but not micromanaged. I need my own independence, and need to be trusted with that. I hate being scolded for that like a child, or being pushed to change my ways to conform to societal values. which I will push back and refuse to do. which is not healthy. I don't adult like many others do, but I try to proceed in other ways. and learn to adult like normal people, accept me.
I also value myself, and how I can be celebrated, enhanced and improved vs. the opposite.
I give space, and have boundaries, and understand human psychology, sexuality and relationships in ways few others unless they are trained, can do.
I value MY time. so you can have space to value YOURS. I dont need to be in anyones pocket for a long time. I love being alone, and being around people who are stimulating, but draining people will be drained out of my life quicker than I intend. I am sorry for the people who felt I disappeared, when I was only trying to be 'fair', if I feel I'm a bad influence, I will work on myself until I'm not. I'm still working on it.
I also use this psychology awareness, to enhance communication, connection. you may or may not become an accidental guinea pig. I will be upfront that I am experimental, but that is part of the buy ticket and take the ride. lets work together. not apart.
I am coming from a place of love, and love is what I feel for my animals, which you will be adopting as children.which I want to stop experiments being done on. I love love, in all ways, but hate cruelty of animals and children, violence and suffering. I dont advocate justice, because I find life is fucking cruel, unfair and unjust. by default, so I focus on myself. what can be changed, and what I am able to do in my own locus on control. I will always find myself drawn to the outsiders, the misfits, the vagabonds, the misunderstood. I want to help people who are society, or socially, disadvantaged by trauma and mental illness, but only when I have ability to help myself.
it's a journey.
I will not date anyone who is cruel to animals, outside of specify magical sacrifice, there is not any place for that. nor will I date or fraternise with anything or anyone linked or associated with pedophilia. I won't judge anyone on anything that are outside animal cruelty and pedophilia. I don't and haven't. I keep on good terms with every ex, bar 1 whom I only apologised too this year. it felt good to do that. I change my behaviour.
I am open, but also highly attuned to both logical, factual, empirical , scientific worlds, and spiritual, intuitive, psychic and the "collective unconscious". I walk in both these realms, and I am "conventionally attractive". which puts a lot of pressure on me, to be "stupid". I am always dumbing myself down to fit into normality, but I look ridiculous if I do that so I peacock my intellect.
only to be misconceived.
I give up because I no longer care how anyone but MYSELF can see ME. I won't dumb myself down , but I can enhance you UP. prepare yourself for graded education, evolution and self-growth on mass scales.sorry not sorry.
that sucks for the people who want to be living vicariously through me, for making up to lost trauma years, for family who sold me out for the success I'd bring home, or fake trauma enmeshed friends, or whatever they want or need from me. I value my time and energy, and have given that in abundance, and if you want to be with nut only "one part of me that is alters". I can't provide that now. not sorry.
I have to work on something or not be in a dynamic at all.
I no longer can switch on demand to adapt for you, it will not be effective and that upsets a lot of people. especially now I'm sober. harder to handle this, as I see the world for its ways and why it is, more vividly. I haven't had alcohol for almost 2 months, although, I could drink, I haven't.
I can't do it, anymore. it, being, faking, my selves fronting to impress. I can't. I have no more left to give, and I'm expected by everyone to be a way I can't do it in the way they want.
I will go to another year long outpatient DBT, followed by 10 weeks of A-C-T therapy, and however many ECT OR TMS may or may not help. I'm told it won't (ect) work. but TMS, is something I am open too. but I am telling you, none of this psychotherapy, that will be based on dbt skills, day therapy, intensive skills training, recommencing my studying, and resuming "life worth living" will or can wipe the traumas I've "recovered" memories for.
I will also shut the fuck up, and tell nobody about this if you leave me alone, I told that to my family, and this is open letter to the watchers, stalkers and perps who read this openly as I track the hits on here and have 200+ visits a day every day for the last month. globally. no idea how or who you are but I think its the same people who called the police for the "ayreon song lyrics" seen to be a suicide not last October.
thanks for that wake up call, I have shut the fuck up, since December, more so now. I will burn the journals, or lock them up.
my recovery is not linear, not yet fully integrated and I trust nobody so I don't think my psychotherapy will be deep, I focus on things like ADHD AND my EDNOS. and dbt skills. I won't be talking about sexual traumas.
enjoy the update, and thanks for the "attention".
I have my goals, my work, my meaning and what my life should and could and will look like, but I will not share that with anyone. that means everyone right now.
I've been tested, traumatised and terrorised to the point of not-tolerant of anyone who may bring that back, and banish the fuck out of my sphere every moment I need.
take me as I am, or watch me as I go, which I will go, where I am not wanted I will remove myself, but I will find where I am celebrated because I create that.
I will rise up against all adversity every time but that is survival and that created a resilient and brave woman, in me. who will not be destroyed or decomposed by humans who are fundamentally fucking evil.
I gift you my truth, in progression, and give up the pain of the past.

How To Make Money With YouTube
Tumblr media
YouTube has transformed video publication into a lucrative business and a powerful tool for promoting your business or service internationally. It has grown in popularity as the cost of high-quality video recording has decreased.
Nowadays, all you need is a quality standalone camera or a nice smartphone to capture footage that rivals high-budget productions. It's all about originality and a compelling viewpoint for eliciting an emotional response from your potential audience.

The Establishment
Before you start seeing yourself as the next Danny Boyle, it's a good idea to consider the type of video you want to create. Are you wanting to earn money directly from your video, or are you looking to utilize it to promote engagement? Occasionally, it is common to do so for both of these reasons. The sort of material you publish on YouTube is determined by what and why you record and share.
In terms of direct or indirect revenue generated by your video, it's obvious that the number of views and shares your video may generate is the metric of success. So, what causes virality? We can never truly anticipate what will happen, but we can make some educated predictions based on historical tendencies. Even if your video does not become a global sensation, you may still earn money from your camera and a little more money for your trouble.
The Distribution
Depending on the purpose of the video, you can generate interest by delivering information authoritatively in order to keep the audience informed or inquisitive, and by including other clips that connect to your subject as necessary. If you choose the lighthearted informal approach, it is critical that your video be both engaging and humorous while still being relevant to your line of business.
To increase your watching statistics, use useful tutorials or 'how-to's delivered with a tongue-in-cheek tone. Humour is always an excellent perspective to take. There are several free video editing programs that may help you produce attractive visuals for your clip. Text sliders and integrated music are also easier to design and add than you would believe. A well-produced videoed viewpoint works effectively for direct sales or marketing.
The road forward is short, acute, and swift. Bear in mind that internet viewers have a relatively limited attention span. You have the first eight seconds to captivate the viewer's attention. Begin with a bang and keep interested by removing any superfluous material.
Sell! Sell! Sell!
If you sell a product or service, it's worthwhile to collect client testimonials for inclusion on your website. It surpasses text testimonials in that anybody can create a fake one in a couple of seconds. This will not only improve your YouTube presence, but it will also provide material for your other endeavor - a video advertisement!
If you're launching a new product or service, you may create an instructional video to accompany it, therefore promoting both your business and your new device. Publishers and authors do this frequently. Provide valuable information on the issue to which your product relates. Inform your visitors on topics they don't know and then present your goods without being too pushy.
The $1 shaving club clip is still the gold standard for all trade-related YouTube videos. Michael Dubin achieved over 5 million views and massive volume sales of $1.00 shaving sticks for a total cost of $3,000 plus several unemployed staff employees.
It demonstrates the power of imagination in spreading a message virally. He amassed a sizable watching audience, but achieving a 3% global sales conversion rate is nothing short of brilliance. Take a look at the Dollar Shave Club smash.
Create a humorous video ad displaying your business culture or a typical client experience as an excellent starting point. To convert one viewer into ten or twenty, showing footage of your bustling work environment, processing orders, or showcasing the advantages of your business would require entertainment or shock.

An excellent video is only effective if it elicits a single viewer's response or engagement. However, in order to go viral, the video must be humorous, provocative, or extremely instructive. What you want is for your audience to share your video on social media. That is the actual definition of a viral assault, which is disseminated by people who are infected. We'd suggest that traffic generated by controversy be left to experienced marketers or those looking for nothing more than a large number of visitors. It may have unfavorable consequences.
For people new to YouTube, it's generally best to just be yourself. Make certain to highlight your unique selling proposition. As alluring as it may be to hire a gorgeous blonde as your spokeswoman, this strategy almost always works against you; instead, get some genuine individuals in front of the camera and demonstrate to your consumers that you can be trusted.
Successful films often include make-up artists, business trainers, eccentric shops, and amusing web ventures. On YouTube, music has also gained commercial exposure, and we are not talking about a major musician or record company. Dub FX was a dub performer making a few pounds on the streets of Camden and other comparable European cities. On YouTube, footage of his performance garnered millions of views, and let's just say he received his baptism at Glastonbury.
Click To Purchase
New media technology is not idle, particularly when it comes to generating direct sales through media engagement. Some people began the concept with product placement while watching a YouTube clip. Now, you may click on a highlighted object in a video to purchase the item using the click-through link.
The setup is far less expensive than it was when the technology was in Beta a few years ago. For a monthly fee, you may have the software running in your £20 YouTube video. A smart method to set up a YouTube shop, in a nutshell, is to have a scrolling catalog with voice commentary and some intriguing content to keep the user engaged.
Your material should pique the viewer's interest and maintain it. If it's fashion, discuss trends, suggestions, and styles, sprinkle in an occasional celebrity photo, and then exhibit your products. The same is true of services. You may include scrolling text that is clickable as you introduce your unique service. Order now, reserve your spot, and other call-to-action words can generate direct income for you.
AdSense And Ranking
YouTube is an excellent source of vitamins for your Google health. Your web presence may do wonders for surfer engagement and commerce thanks to search engines and web ranking. After uploading your video, don't forget to give it a title, description, and tags.
After you've optimized your keywords and set phrases with accompanying descriptions, you're well on your way to receiving a spike in traffic from Google. If you use appropriate connections and spread the news via social media or your website, your video should get a few hundred views. Your video should begin to show on Google as a result of your key phrases. Click-throughs to websites receive a sizable portion of their traffic from video searches typically associated with YouTube.
Page ranking on YouTube with the assistance of your video is therefore very important. Conduct research on how AdSense works to ensure that money generated from this source is reasonable and constant. YouTube will deposit payments into your Google AdSense account, and after you've completely registered in the program, you'll also be able to turn on Google advertisements to the side of or above your videos.
This may earn additional revenue through pay per click and affiliate commissions, and all you have to do is maintain new video material and enjoy the earnings. Apart from direct payment, there are additional options to grow your YouTube reputation and generate additional money sources.
If you're selling a few items on eBay or want to increase traffic to your revenue-generating blog, including a link to your site makes sense. You may approach other firms in your sector and offer to recommend their goods in your videos in exchange for a 5-10% commission over and above what YouTube pays you, or you can just get into an affiliate arrangement. The Program for Partners
The Partner Program is when your films truly begin to earn you money. Once you become a partner, you may expect to earn between $2.50 and $5 (£1.56 and £3.13) for every 1,000 views of your video. While this may not sound like much at the moment, if you manage to produce the next viral phenomenon with millions of views, you can expect to earn a dot-com fortune for your efforts. Consider monetizing your video by selling scrolling text.
A specific number of viewers suffices as proof of existence for a platform in which a linked business would be interested. Product placement and endorsements as part of the content are an effective way for paying advertising, large or small, to promote their business.
favorite open-source resources.
Currency of the Fans
Make your uploads one-of-a-kind and positively distinctive, and you're likely to amass a devoted following of admirers. Video marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme, and it may be unexpected to some extent; patience and deliberate preparation should assist.
It may be a lot of fun to create the films, and once they begin generating money for you, they are likely to continue earning money month after month. Feed your audience by introducing them to videos from others who have a link to yours. Once you've accumulated a library of 15 or more videos, you should be able to generate a reasonable amount of views for each video. Once all of your videos reach a minimum of 1,000 views, you can be confident that YouTube will contact you to ask whether you'd want to apply to become a Partner.
Uploading videos to YouTube is an extremely public act. As a result, you must be explicit about authorization and the restrictions of publishing a video. Take precautions and ensure that you have authorization where necessary to avoid discovering that your hard work was for naught.
Situational footage in which you act as a witness with your video may be excluded in some instances, therefore it's a good idea to understand the limitations. Ascertain that your video does not violate the copyright of another party. Take a few moments to go over YouTube's terms of service. They are also there to safeguard your own good work from infringement by others; you'd need to know when your copyright interests have been violated as well.
Consult YouTube's copyright guidelines and suggestions. Making money on YouTube offers more opportunities than we are accustomed to. It's entirely up to you to create engaging content and manage revenue once watching statistics begin to climb. It's an open field; let's begin filming.
Mother of three, daughter, sister, wife, public relations consultant, and entrepreneur
On most days, like many women, I appear to have to balance all of my duties. On other days, there are only three or four. This was the impetus for me to create Home For Business. I understand what it takes to be a working mother and how to run an internet business from home while juggling all of the 'pulls' of daily family life and work.
I've always been entrepreneurial, and in my 30s founded my first corporate communications firm, EMA Productions, working with large multinational customers such as Texaco and Rank & Boots. While it was difficult and time-consuming, it was immediately successful. Without family interruptions and with the backing of a wonderful team and office, I could focus only on obtaining contracts and satisfying customer demands.
There are hundreds of legitimate possibilities available to individuals, but many are unaware of where to begin.

Desperate Measures: 2/?
Tumblr media
Part Two: Bellamy Blake x Reader
Summary: Unable to sleep, Miller and Y/N celebrate her birthday with some contraband moonshine, Clarke and Finn come back bearing bad news, and things come to a head between Y/N and Bellamy as they search for Jasper.
Warnings: swearing, violence, mild angst,
Notes: Thank you for all the love! Also, goddamn that gif is beautiful. Based on 1x02 “Earth Skills”
She didn’t sleep at all that night. Instead, Miller snuck her into Monty’s tent, the kid who left with Jasper, he explained.
“This kid makes the best moonshine I’ve ever tasted.” He explained, scratching at the patchy facial hair that had started to grow in.
Y/N couldn’t help but laugh at the petty thief. Monty wasn’t even here, probably out trying to get his poor friend laid, but Miller still felt the need to sneak into his tent as if he would get punished for it.
“Isn’t this the Monty you had a crush on in fifth grade?” She asked, coughing down what Miller had now dubbed ‘birthday juice’.
“Yeah, so?”
Y/N shrugged before taking another gulp, regretting it as the sun began to peek through the opening in the tent. “Ugh, we should get ready before Bellamy starts clanging the pots to get us to work.” She rolled her eyes at the thought of the older leader, annoyance erupting in her stomach as she recalled the events of last night. She pushed herself off the leafy ground, wiping the dirt off her hands as she stood.
“You know he’s not that bad once you get to know him” Miller offered, stuffing the canteen back under Monty’s bed while Y/N shrugged on her jacket. “I knew him a bit before I got arrested, he’s actually a pretty awesome guy.”
She smirked, resisting the urge to roll her eyes, “This is why I love you, Miller.”
“Because I can get you free alcohol and sneak you into places you’re not supposed to?” His eyebrow twitched upward as he smiled. Y/N holstered her makeshift knife in the band of her jeans, patting Miller’s shoulder. “Because you see the best in people, even little shits like Bellamy.”
As the two exited the tent to catch the first earthen sunrise in over ninety-seven years, Miller would not stop trying to defend the older kid. “I just don’t know why you won’t give him a chance. I think you guys would actually have a lot in common if you just talked to him.”
Y/N spun around, trying not to offend one of her best friends, “Look, Nate, I love you but Bellamy insulted my own family and personal life last night, not to mention him and Murphy don’t even care about the progress of this camp. He and I will never get along, now drop it.”
Miller nodded, the two teens watching the black sky fade into soft colors beyond their imagination. Pink, orange, and yellow stretched across the sky until they all mixed together to create the crystalline blue they had dreamed so long about seeing.
“Now that you’re eighteen, what are you gonna do?” Nate asked, spreading himself out on the grass to watch the sky morph. Y/N joined him, her ponytail pressing against her skull as she thought it over.
“I don’t know.” She confessed, weight lifting off her shoulders as she played with the silver band around her other wrist, “Sinclair had promised me an apprenticeship back on Mecha, guess that’s off the table.”
A chuckle lifted both of them from their tired night.
Y/N smiled, contemplating the possibilities. “I guess...I’m a free woman. I can do anything. I can do anyone.” She chuckled at her wordplay, Miller suddenly growing silent. She recognized that behavior. He was trying to find the right words to say something.
“What is it?”
“Your dad” Miller asked gingerly. “Do you think he would’ve floated you?”
She inhaled sharply, her mind racing at a thousand miles a minute as she tried to come up with a probable answer. Her gut told her no. Even if they didn’t share blood, she had to believe a part of him hurt when she had been taken away. But then she remembered the cold gaze in his eyes when he had wrapped the handcuffs around her wrists and, like most situations, her head won out.
“Probably.” She breathed, the words tasting sour in her mouth. “I was a liability, someone who knew the two biggest secrets aboard the Ark. What better way to shut me up then to float me like my mother?”
Silence filled the space between them.
She continued her argument, more to convince herself than the thief beside her.
“Logically it makes sense, and Kane has always been motivated by logic.”
Miller sat up, turning on his side to face her, a regretful look passing through his eyes, “I’m sorry Y/N, I didn’t mean to bring it up. I guess, I just hoped--”
“I know what you meant Miller.” Y/N mirrored his position, placing a hand on his arm, letting him know his mistake was forgiven. “But that man is not my father. Of course, my real dad wasn’t much better.”
The two friends shared another laugh until a scream ruined the moment between them. They launched to their feet, sprinting back to the clearing just in time to see Wells tackle Murphy to the ground.
Emotions disappeared behind a steel wall as Y/N approached the two, ready to separate them again.
“Hey! That’s enough,” She called, struggling against the raw strength of the boys. “HEY! I said that’s enough!”
She ripped the darker-skinned boy off the other delinquent, ready to defend Wells against another tirade of Murphy’s. “What happened?” Wells breathed heavily, a shaky finger pointing at the paler boy. “He was holding Roma over the fire, I tried to stop it and he attacked me.”
A sneer crossed Murphy’s face as he shuffled forward, launching toward Wells. Y/N reached underneath her shirt grasping the makeshift knife and brandishing it as Bellamy pushed Murphy back.
“Murphy enough!” Bellamy stopped the delinquent, throwing a look of contempt her way. Her chest heaved up and down in an attempt to calm the anger rising in her throat.
“Crazy bitch” she heard Murphy whisper under his breath as Bellamy talked him down.
She refused to put down the knife.
Her hand was extended before her, guarding Wells in case Murphy tried to take him down again, which, from the hateful glare in his eyes, he was definitely thinking about.
“What the hell is going on?” Clarke asked, mouth wide open. Y/N took a mental note of the campers who had returned.
Four. One missing.
No food.
Octavia was limping.
“Murphy attacked Wells” Y/N responded, shoving her knife back into her jeans, trying to figure out what they had seen out there. “Are you okay?” She asked the group of returning prisoners, the group doubling over and panting from the run back. Finn’s eyes held a seriousness she hadn’t seen since he had been arrested. He shook his head.
“What happened to your wristband?” Clarke asked, rushing over to Wells and grasped his wrist. His empty wrist.
Wells shot a dirty look at Bellamy, Y/N followed suit.
“Ask him”
Clarke strode over, anger increasing with each step as her brow furrowed, jaw clenching. “How many?” Bellamy was silent, cut off by Murphy’s proud: “Twenty-four and counting.” The freshly pummeled delinquent sent a glare toward Y/N as he said that, smiling at their growing statistics. She resisted the urge to tackle him then and there. One, because he had more strength than her, and because Miller’s words from yesterday rang in her head.
He wasn’t worth it.
“You idiots!” Clarke spat, “Life support on the Ark is failing!”
The kids began to murmur again as they realized that what Y/N had been saying last night was actually true and they were fighting a losing battle. Hushed tones began to wonder about the possibility of survival.
“Where’s the kid with the goggles?” Wells asked, suddenly realizing the low amount of returning campers.
“We were attacked, and Jasper was taken.”
Y/N’s chest constricted, breathing accelerating. Her body grew still, all of her fear carefully hidden behind the mask of stone she wore on her face. Down here fear is death.
“Attacked?” She asked, confusion crossing her face while she crept forward to join the exhausted group.
“Turns out when the last man from the Earth died on the Ark, he wasn’t the last grounder” Finn spoke ominously, shifting his gaze toward Clarke, apprehension on both of their faces.
“That means we can survive” Y/N spoke up, trying to remain optimistic, “Radiation won’t kill us.”
“But the grounders will” Clarke finished, eyes flickering toward her wrist, relieved to see Y/N still had her wristband on, retreating further into the camp as Bellamy knelt next to Octavia.
Panicked whispers began to grow around the camp, spreading like a wildfire at the thought of other humans attacking one of their own.
She flipped her attention away from the dissipating crowd back to the sibling duo. Something tugged on her heartstrings, almost as if the helpless look on Bellamy’s face was asking for someone else to step in.
What little medical experience she had she learned from her mother and helping Clarke study for the doctoral exams. So it wasn’t much, but she knew how to wrap a wound and that was enough for now.
Y/N moved forward, palms open in an olive branch as she asked to inspect the wound.
“Why?” Bellamy asked, guard up, “So you can make another sarcastic remark about us?” “Bell…” Octavia spoke softly, her nod enough consent to inspect the bleeding gash in her leg.
“The good news is that it looks okay.” Y/N responded, cleaning the wound as best she could and retying the bandage, “The bad news is that I am not a qualified professional so take that with a grain of salt.”
Octavia burst into giggles at the joke, Y/N’s chuckles mixing with the younger girls laughter.
All Bellamy could do was stare.
“We’re headed to find Jasper.” Clarke appeared from nowhere, toting Finn and Wells behind her. “We could really use you out there Y/N.”
“Try and stop me.” The engineer smiled, patting the knife on her side, her mind drifting to the scientific journal buried in her pocket, each page containing endless useful information about their unknown home.
Octavia struggled to stand up, “I’m coming too.”
“Forget it” Bellamy ordered, pushing her back down “You’re staying here.”
Octavia looked like she was about to protest until Clarke stepped in. “He’s right, your leg will just slow us down anyway.”
Y/N faced the reckless teen. “I’ll try and find something to use on your leg when I get back.”
Octavia shot a grateful look at the engineer, grasping tightly to the log she was sitting on.
“I’m here for you” Clarke turned her attention to Bellamy, catching everyone in the vicinity by surprise. “I hear you have a gun.”
Bellamy lifted up his shirt, exposing the pistol stuck into the band of his jeans. Y/N scoffed internally, of course, he would have a gun. Of all the kids in the camp, he was the one with the firearm?
They must really be screwed.
“Good” Clarke began to move out, “Follow me.”
“Why would I do that?”
Clarke’s face pulled back in surprise, “because you want them to follow you, and right now they’re thinking only one of us is scared.”
Bellamy paused for a full beat before grabbing Murphy and following the group out of camp. Y/N rolled her eyes internally as the attacker joined their party, the group heading out into the same woods that had swallowed up Jasper not too long ago.
“Let’s split up” Finn suggested, sending an incredibly unsubtle look toward Clarke.
Wells gulped, stepping forward protectively, “I’ll go with Clarke.”
“No!” Clarke jumped in, a resentful look on her face, “Stay with Y/N.” The blonde shifted her gaze before following after the spacewalker.
“Clarke wait!” She ran after the blonde, grasping her hand incredulously. “You’re just going to leave me with him?”
“You know the most about this place” She rationalized, gaze flickering to her pocket, “someone has to take care of those three” She flicked her gaze back at the trio, “Besides you get along better with him than I do.”
“You know that’s not true.”
Clarke smiled, tearing her hand out of Y/N’s grip. “You’ll be fine, now go.”
She nodded, swallowing the irritation into her stomach as she trudged through the greenery, unable to enjoy the beauty of the planet surrounding her due to the arguing behind her. She could feel eyes watching her every move, although she wasn’t quite sure if it was Bellamy or Murphy.
The annoyance continued to build and twist until Bellamy spoke for the first time since leaving Camp.
“Must suck to be in love with someone who doesn’t know you exist.” He taunted Wells.
“Shut up Bellamy.” The teen responded.
“I’m just saying” Bellamy continued, “with Finn around it’s like she doesn’t even see you.”
Y/N rolled her eyes, irritation pooling at the stupidity of the argument, “Can you guys finish your pissing contest later? I’m trying to concentrate.”
She pushed forward, her movements halting as Bellamy grasped her bicep, keeping her in place as his hand trailed down her forearm, landing on the steel wristband surrounding her hand.
“Take this off and I’ll consider doing whatever you say.”
A laugh escaped her mouth involuntarily, catching the leader off guard. She ripped her wrist out of his enormous palm, tilting her chin upward to meet him in the eye. “You want the Ark to think I’m dead? Kill me first.”
“Believe me, it’s not for a lack of trying” Murphy interjected, crossing his arms, a sneer growing on his face as he recalled the events of the morning.
“You know what Blake?” Y/N had reached her breaking point, annoyance bubbling over until she couldn’t handle it anymore. “You can play leader all you want, but don’t pretend it’s for anything other than your own selfish motives.” The words flowed from her brain straight to her mouth, filter forgotten. “You can pretend it’s for your sister, or for some higher purpose but I know the truth. You’re just a scared kid afraid of getting in trouble because he did something the adults wouldn’t pardon him for.”
His jaw clenched at the accusation.
She had found his weak spot.
Y/N smiled dangerously.
“So go ahead, play leader, hide behind your sister, hell, you can even pretend to see through me, it doesn’t change the fact that I. See. Through. You.”
Her thin finger poked his chest, emphasizing her point further. The guard grabbed the limb in his hand, eyes flickering from Y/N’s face to the bracelet.
Tense silence stood between the two, broken only by Clarke’s voice calling them forward, claiming to have discovered new tracks.
“Jasper!” Clarke called, running toward the low moaning, Y/N following soon after. The tracks exited into a clearing, a bare tree standing in the middle, Jasper’s limp body tied against the bark.
“Jasper hang on!” Y/N called, searching the ground for a safe way to the tree, ignoring Clarke’s stride forward. “Clarke wait--”
The ground collapsed beneath her, spikes awaiting the kids beneath the trap, Bellamy’s arm the only thing keeping Clarke tethered to the world above. Finn and Wells hurried to pull the two delinquents up, Bellamy still entranced by the trap before him.
“They knew we were coming” Y/n murmured, “That’s why they kept him alive.”
Finn and Murphy moved forward, as the three remaining teens brandished what weapons they held, ready to fight off whatever grounders awaited them. Instead, they were greeted with a low growl and shivering grass.
“Bellamy,” Y/N warned, eyes never leaving the green stalks, “Now would be a good time to take out that gun.”
He nodded, hand moving to the hem of his shirt, ready to fire at whatever awaited in the grass. It only took a second for the panther to lock eyes on one of them.
“Bellamy,” She warned, pulse quickening, “Now.”
The older boy nodded, hand grasping for the hilt, only to meet empty air.
Gunshots rang out from Wells’ hand, forcing the panther back into the grass, Y/N’s eyes scanning the edges near her and Bellamy, watching for the slightest quiver.
Instead, she caught the slightest glimpse of black, the flickering of a tail slowing right near Bellamy.
“Bellamy watch out!” Her heart took over her head, and she jumped in front of the taller kid, pushing him behind her as she braced herself for impact, a gunshot silencing the panther once and for all.
Her breathing grew ragged, eyes locked firmly on the dead animal at her feet, refusing to register any words other than Bellamy’s simple, “Now she sees you.”
His face dropped, mouth hanging open in an ‘o’ as his eyes threatened to bug out of his head. It was the perfect mirror image of Clarke’s, unable to believe someone he hated had risked their life to save his. Unable to believe someone thought he was worth saving.
But Y/N never saw his face.
***
Try as he might, Bellamy could not tear his gaze from Y/N.
She sat with Clarke and Finn, refusing to take off her bracelet, sharing with the two other delinquents.
The three people who kept challenging his position in the camp.
The three people he needed to deal with quickly.
And yet...
He wanted to thank her. To go over and offer his piece of the panther as a peace offering for saving his life. To start a truce.
She was smart. She was the top engineer back on the Ark. She could offer a lot.
But she was right.
She saw right through him, and he couldn’t have that.
Ooooh, what’s this? A medium burn again? Perhaps, or perhaps I’m fooling you all, who knows?

Can Sports Manga Really Break Through in North America?
Tumblr media
Here we are in the summer of 2020 and it’s usually San Diego Comic-Con time. And with it comes discussion of how manga is doing in 2020. There was a Manga Publishing Industry Roundtable discussion at Comic-Con with representatives from almost all of the U.S. manga publishers (which you can watch here) about what’s happening in the U.S. side of things. While manga sales have dropped due to the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, they have rebounded back in some ways. A great thing about this is that it’s not just mainstream titles that are selling; it’s also series that are from other genres like slice-of-life and horror.
Which now leads into the title of this post because at the end of the discussion, publishers were asked about what they would like to see in the future. Erik Ko, chief of operations at UDON Comics, said something that really piqued my interest. He said that he wants to see if sports manga can truly break out in North America (i.e. reach levels of sales and popularity a la My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, etc.). Erik mentioned how his daughter loves Haikyu!! on Crunchyroll and watched all 3 seasons multiple times (It’s also mentioned that Haikyu!! sold well during the pandemic for its U.S. publisher Viz Media).
While the manga has officially ended as of this writing, Haikyu!! will last for a while as the anime will have a 4th season and possibly more. However, while Haikyu!! is loved by a lot of anime/manga fans, it’s not exactly a series that has gotten EVERY shonen fan or manga reader talking. With the many sports manga licenses that manga publishers have gotten over the past few years, it doesn’t sound like there’s significant traction.
This does beg the question of what will it take for sports manga to really catch the eyes of manga readers here in the United States.
For starters, I’ll discuss a bit about the history of sports anime here in the United States. It’s been noted that a lot of sports anime do not tend to sell well over here. There was an Answerman article on Anime News Network answering “Why Do Sports Anime Bomb in North America?” that really goes into this. While it’s noted in the article that Yuri!! on Ice and Free! are indeed sports anime and have sold well, almost all discussion about those series revolves around the relationships between the male characters. Sports play second fiddle to the relationships compared to series like Haikyu!!, Slam Dunk, and Captain Tsubasa (where the sports aspect is still preached a lot).
Speaking of Captain Tsubasa, if you don’t know about this series, this is the one sports anime/manga that generated a lot of love overseas in countries that worship football/soccer. In the Manga: The Citi Exhibition book, there was an article on the promotion of Captain Tsubasa in Baghdad, Iraq by the Japan Self-Defense Force. The series was promoted via pictures on water distribution tanks in Iraq in the mid-2000s’ as a way to make Iraqi children smile. During the U.S. occupation of Iraq, Japan would later work with Iraqi media channels to show programming that would help encourage the country. One of these shows happened to be Captain Tsubasa, which was dubbed in Arabic. The series’ fandom took off from there and more places in the Middle East (like Saudi Arabia) even got in on the action using hacked satellites to watch.
I wonder if this is what Erik Ko wants to see - something like Captain Tsubasa that not only gets fans gushing about the story and characters, but also inspires kids to become professional athletes or at least become more physically active in their own lives.
A big problem that gets in the way of this happening in the U.S. is how sports culture is like over here. How do I explain this? I’ll use a quote from a 2016 article in the Milwaukee Independent about Anime Milwaukee.
“While the Anime Milwaukee convention does not collect statistical data about those who attend, walking around the convention provided empirical confirmation of how Anime speaks to multi-generational and multi-cultural people.
Anime itself will not solve the very real problems faced by disadvantaged residents in Milwaukee.
But unlike the adversarial escapism offered by sports teams and the nature of competitive games, the appeal of Anime is with its positive messages. Where as sports is an unrealistic role model for struggling youth, for the most part Anime offers socially beneficial and moral examples.”
Sports in the United States are very much “us versus them.” In Japan, sports focuses on healthy competition between players. At least, that’s what Japanese sports stories try to focus on. While healthy competition between players does happen over here, it either doesn’t get shown as much in U.S. sports media or that competition becomes toxic to the point it hurts innocent people. In the U.S., you’re supposed to win and get recognized in order to move ahead in your respective sport via whatever means necessary. A good example is college basketball over here and how competitive schools have been involved in recruiting scandals over the best high school players. Another example is the psychological trauma faced by the number of young female athletes who were sexually abused/harassed and forced to believe that it was all part of the process to get ahead in their respective sport. I want to note that sports programs in the U.S. are often heavily underfunded, which adds to the pressure that faces any youth going through sports programs.
There’s also this tendency to view athletes over here as all-knowing celebrity gods (i.e. athletes who say awful things with confidence on social media) or people that only know how to play their respective sport (ie. the “shut up and dribble” comment to outspoken basketball players on social issues). There’s no in-between where we get to see the complete humanity of the athlete.
This does tie into how sports fans and anime/manga fans may not get along. You usually learn more about the nuanced aspects of life from outside sports than within. Sports over here preach some questionable values that anime/manga fans sometimes don’t believe in. Add the fact that sports is shoved down Americans’ throats so much and you can see why not everyone over watches sports. I do want to note that there are U.S. pro athletes showcasing their love for anime. While this is nice to see, almost all the titles they grew up watching are mainstream shonen/shojo. I’m curious if athletes would watch series like Haikyu!!, Kuroko’s Basketball, Eyeshield 21, etc., but then I wonder if they would keep watching as they can only handle so much sports drama as it’s part of their everyday reality.
So what will it take for a sports manga to break through in a big way? Viz Media tried to promote Slam Dunk here using the NBA to promote literacy in 2008. I also found out that Tokyopop tried to do something with the NBA via its Cine-Manga initiative in the mid-2000s’ and it only lasted from 2004-2007. So to that extent, there probably has to some kind of manga that’s similar to the now-famous The Last Dance documentary, which chronicled Michael Jordan’s last championship run with the Chicago Bulls in the 1997-1998 NBA season.
Though honestly, it’s gonna take a mangaka who’s really interested in all aspects of American sports culture to come up with that kind of story. What might be better is that the story heavily criticizes the culture in a compelling and sometimes humorous way. I think that’s what will really get all U.S. manga fans and comic fans interested, especially those who are sick of commercialized sports exposure wherever they go. I do think over time as anime/manga continue to be accepted in the geek ecosystem, we can see this kind of story take off.
Until then, if you happen to be someone who likes both sports and anime/manga in a level-headed manner like me, you’re doing alright. It’s hard to occupy both spaces when you’re supposed to choose a side. Although I liked physical education during my school days, I can understand why anyone whose hobbies lie more towards the artistic and creative side disliked physical education possibly due to the structure in how it’s taught. I know sports anime lovers that dislike watching real sports in general and I get why.
Hearing Erik’s comments made me wonder about the beauty of sports manga. Now that I think hard about it, sports anime/manga are a intersection of both the “nerd” and “jock” in a way that helps everyone. To be honest, that intersection is what really bridges gaps that makes people better. It’s what truly completes a person. I’ll use this example - you can’t have mental health without physical health and vice versa. Some kind of exercise can help the mind while learning how your mind works can help you do better in physical activities that connect people together.
Maybe more importantly, what sports manga tends to preach is that winning shouldn’t be everything. Right now, everyone is encouraged to win at something just for a taste of meaningless status and we’re seeing how that mentality can ruin someone. Sports, with all of its benefits freed from corporate influence, are supposed to teach us (like all great manga stories do) that there’s no “us versus them,” there’s only “us” in the end.
And that kind of story deserves to hit a home run that rounds all the bases to reach a celebratory and meaningful win for the world.

“Sometimes i do feel like I'm a failure. Like there's no hope for me. But even so, I'm not going to give up. Ever.”
-          Izuku “Deku” Midoriya, My Hero Academia (Ep. 01)
The Toonami Trending Rundown for May 5-6, 2018. In an event that fans have been anticipating for up to the past two years, the smash hit Shonen Jump anime in Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia finally makes its debut on the better cartoon show. And what a night it was, as Deku finds himself to have no quirk abilities, but vows not to give up his dreams of becoming a hero, while Jotaro gambles against D’Arby, and Asta argues with the Silva elite(ists)…at least until zombies attack the Capital City.
Unfortunately for us, the Great Trending Drought of 2018 continues as on Twitter, only Space Dandy would successfully trend in the US. On Tumblr, Toonami would trend as with #BNHA, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and Hunter x Hunter. We’ve had periods like this before due to changes in trending algorithms and tough competition, and while they stink, all i can say is just continue enjoying the block as always and I’m sure the pendulum will swing back our way before long.
Tumblr media
This week, Toonami showcased a second part of their behind the scenes video on the production of the FLCL sequel series. Due to time constraints, an extended version of the interview that was shown on TV was released on the Adult Swim Youtube channel, which you can see below.
youtube
This Memorial Day Weekend on May 26, Toonami will be marathoning all 6 episodes of FLCL in a row beginning at 10:30 pm EDT/PST and again at 1:45 am, to get fans prepared for the premiere of FLCL 2 Progressive on the following week on June 2nd.
A little heads up regarding scheduling for the night of May 19, as episode 6 of FLCL has a 45 minute length, every show after will be temporarily shifted back by 15 minutes. No shows will be pre-empted, but for those recording Toonami on their DVRs, you might want to keep this in mind and adjust your recordings accordingly if needed.
Those watching the premiere of My Hero Academia who have previously watched it on other sources may have noticed that there were a few minor language edits in the dialogue (ie. a few “shit” bombs were changed to “crap” bombs). According to Jason DeMarco: “We didn't edit the episode so that's how it was sent to us I guess.”
Tumblr media
Despite being one of the most popular anime franchises right now, with high streaming numbers, DVD and Blu-ray sales, and high manga readership, some thought that My Hero Academia’s road to the top would not be complete without a broadcast on the better cartoon show, hence why it became one of Toonami’s most requested shows in recent memory.
As I mentioned when Black Clover joined Toonami, My Hero Academia didn’t come to Toonami earlier simply because they chose Black Clover or another show instead, but rather the show hit a significant snag in regards to internal politics with the distributors and competition, among other things hurt its chances of airing on TV for awhile. Some will mention that that the show’s popularity didn’t start blowing up until around the time season 2 started premiering in Japan that Toonami started seeing massive requests for the show. Unfortunately by the time the show reached Toonami’s radar, Hulu had a exclusivity deal with FUNimation that prevented a broadcast for an undisclosed amount of time, among other issues that we’re not privy to. But as the old saying goes, good things come to those who wait, and eventually Toonami and FUNimation finally got the opportunity to get the job done.
As Deku never gave up on his dreams, fans never gave up on seeing the show airing on the block, and were eventually rewarded, and MHA’s road to joining Toonami could give hope to the fans of Sailor Moon, Mob Psycho 100, Blue Exorcist, Tokyo Ghoul, Darling in the Franxx, as well as fans and other popular shows who are currently facing similar snags that are preventing said shows from reaching Toonami at this time. It’s why we say that if you want to see a show come to Toonami, keep supporting the block and the industry overall, let Toonami and the distributor know you want a show there through their social media outlets, and be patient. Nothing is impossible and if there’s a significant demand for a show, anything can happen.
Unfortunately due to the time it took for My Hero to reach Toonami, we’re 3 seasons behind from where the dub is currently at on FUNimation Now. But since Toonami plans to air all 3 present seasons successively, and since MHA has seasonal breaks (a la Attack on Titan and SAO for instance), it should be roughly a year or so until Toonami will be able to catch up with the current broadcast. Of course, that all depends on when season 4 starts among other things, but considering the difficulty it was to get this show here in the first place, I’m sure the wait will be a breeze in comparison. Starting from the beginning does have a benefit as it will welcome in newcomers to the show such as myself, which is why many fans wanted Toonami to pick up this series in the first place.
What will My Hero Academia bring us with these 3 seasons and more to come, I’m not sure, but as those who have seen the show through streaming and DVDs will attest, i’m sure it will be a fun ride for many newcomers and those watching again as Deku continues fulfilling his dream of becoming a superhero. All I can say is if you like what you’re seeing, keep watching.
Not much else to say other than we’ll see you again on Saturday for another round of the better cartoon show. Later.

My experience with the Pokemon fandom part 2
Ok, so I made my fun experience of how I got into Pokemon and what I did in the last 16 years. They were fun topics to cover about. While I mostly covered the positive stuff, I want to extended it a bit here, just to explain about my other part of the fandom, even if it's a place I don't look as often, but it's considerably long enough that it just fits as its own page.
Do I follow the Spanish fandom?
As a matter of fact, I do, but not as often as the English one. I'm not fluent with Spanish, despite being with my family who knows Spanish well enough. Besides that, I do check on the Spanish fandom from time to time, and I mostly follow the Latin American fanbase, but I also pick up a bit on Spain's fandom too. My first time being involved with the Spanish fandom was me going to Costa Rica in late 2005, seeing one of Pokemon Advance Challenge episode, Winona's first introduction. At the time, I laugh at how the Spanish voices are so different, and they can be funny as a kid. It wasn't the first time I had this thought, it was seeing Nickelodeon Latin America when I was in Peru in late 2003, seeing my favorite cartoons. But yeah, also on the same day, I watched Mewtwo Strikes back on that same day after my trip from the airport. It was few hours after the main series from Cartoon Network, and I first saw the first movie alone, in Spanish. I didn't understand what they were saying, but it was still fun to watch and I could kinda see what was going on. I also then saw Pokemon Chronicles there, when it was ongoing there as new episodes, starting with the Gary episode. I saw a couple of them, and I did not even knew that spinoff existed, as it wasn't shown in the US yet back then. Seeing Misty have Luvdisc, and Casey saving a Charizard, and also, Christmas special with Ash and his friends appear faceless for some reason. LOL. I even saw more of it on another trip, and also saw English Dub around the time before another trip. While I had cousins who are quite friendly, they were not into Pokemon unfortunately, so I don't really have someone I know who can directly tell me the experience of the LA fandom. I also seen a couple of episodes on other trips in my life so I saw some LA dubbed episodes. I even went to a Spanish Anime website where you can download episodes that are in the LA dub. There was one for Season 13 where someone used a Japanese recording that contains Japanese audio, English dub, LA Spanish Dub, and Castilian Spanish Dub, all in one MKV file. As what I can see by searching the fandom myself around 2011-2012 from finding those episodes, they are really active. I remember they were really happy to get Pokemon B2W2 on launch day. LA countries share the same release date as North America. Well, Nintendo products are distributed by a third party company called Latamel. Well, even though they're not first party markets as Nintendo does in European countries, Pokemon games are still profitable. I mean, the hardware and games are more expensive in those countries, like nearly twice the price, usually. Well they would mostly get English imports as there was a lot less support for Latin America in the gaming industry.
Pokemon games in LA and its problems:
Right now, they're getting more support, Legend of Zelda already got its LA dub since BotW, and Nintendo's most recent franchise to have LA translation is Animal Crossing since last year. Sadly, no Pokemon games have LA translation yet, except for Pokemon GO. Despite LA Spanish fandom being really active, The Pokemon Company never had an actual support with Latin America for the games yet, and even if they added language support since X and Y, the Spanish Translation is a complete import from Spain, which means the moves, the character names, and the dialects are pretty different and some fans may not like that approach. Playing a game that only has Castilian Spanish is still common and not really an issue as long as you understand the translation pretty well. For Pokemon specifically, it has a couple of problems. You would think since X and Y release, that they would start using the Spanish names for characters, attack moves, and city names for XY anime's LA Spanish dub, right? NO! They still decide to stick with just use the English character names and cities, translate their own Attack moves if the moves are new or use an existing one from most recent dubs (Some moves have multiple names throughout the anime, as the show got five different dubbing studios), which doesn't match with Castilian Spanish game translation at all. You will be confused about who's name is that person or attack move of you watch any available Spanish translation of both anime and the games, which is why LA Pokemon fans want the games to finally have the LA Spanish translation being made. It's likely that TPC decided to have the anime to not change even when X any Y came out with language selection. The fandom think it's best if the player knows a good level of English at least and just play the games in English. There's also a Reddit thread about why the games should have the translation for LA Spanish audiences, as this persons went a bit more detail as to why Castilian Spanish translation may not work for LA audience as a Kids game, like certain words can be considered vulgar:
https://www.reddit.com/r/TruePokemon/comments/jcf7ix/pok%C3%A9mon_in_latin_america/
More example of LA fans seeing some words being common in Spain is vulgar:
https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/1ogdln/vulgarity_in_the_spanish_version_of_the_game/
And to give you another example how TPC has less support for their fandom, none of the anime game trailers, Pokemon Generations, or Twilight Wings got LA Spanish dub at all, as none of the games as of now have the LA Spanish translation. TPCi would instead use the LA spcial media accounts and LA Pokemon websites link the Castilian Spanish dub. I do believe TPCi really needs to take a look at the LA Spanish fandom as they are really big. Peru of all Latin America is one of top 5 countries where they have most Pokemon fans. It's really interesting that one of my family's country was the top 5 largest fandom, and as a matter of fact, I do see Pokemon merch being made there. I only see images of the merch. But yeah, I so hope TPCi decide to include the LA Spanish translation as a lot more games in 2010s decide to give more supports to LA Spanish audience. This isn't the 90s or the 2000s anymore, when it was where most video games's only translation was Castilian Spanish, and pirated stores sell bootleg disc that are taken from PAL games to play the games in Spanish. It got a lot better in last couple of years. Crash series got LA translation, and so did most of Sony's and Microsoft's franchises too.
Overall:
So all in all, despite the games lagging behind, Manga doesn't have all volumes translated, and TCG only getting English cards, the LA Pokemon fandom is one of the top biggest communities in the world. I still think the top 3 are Japan, US, and China, based on the statistics, but yeah, the LA fandom is pretty active, and they still play the games and stuff, and most of them watch the anime. The anime was dubbed in Mexico, Ash's first VA was very popular as he voiced Ash, and his got changed by Season 13. Only Jirachi and Deoxys movie was dubbed in Argentina, having sets of different VAs. I see merch everywhere relating to Pokemon, hearing about the games launch day being celebrated in cool areas, and seeing the fans of the anime. I may not be fluent with Spanish, but I do see the fandom are still enjoying Pokemon. I know they would also have an issue with Dex Cut from Sword and Shield just like the entire world does, but still, I do see a couple of fans enjoy the franchise. I even saw a relative who has a boy who had a Pokemon birthday party for the last four years, which seems interesting.
Castilian Spanish?
And if you ask me about Castilian Spanish, I don't mind seeing CS dubs of any anime. I remember watching Mermaid Melody in Castilian Spanish as there was no subs for all episodes at the time and English Dub never made it. I actually liked the Spanish dub, and as for Pokemon, when I got the episodes a decade ago, I finally hear what the dub sounds like. It's interesting how Ash's VA is still voicing him, even to this day. I find it interesting that the games give characters different names, and in most cases, I prefer English names. Meowth's voice sounds really close to his current English voice, which is funny to me. I don't have much experience with Spain's fandom as I do with Latin American one. I prefer LA's first theme song over the Spanish one, but I do prefer Advance Battle Castilian one over LA Spanish one, even if I like both of them. Oh and also, Johto Journeys one, as LA one was badly edited, not using the TV version and use full theme song that is just cut down and missed some lyrics. But yeah, I don't mind the Castilian Spanish translations. I find them to be interesting.
Next:
My part 3 will just be discussing about my other experiences in the fandom and compare it with other ones, and it's gonna be concerning and stuff, but I do want to get into it as I had friends who had different experiences, each of them.

How Much Does it Cost to Create a Video for My Business?
As broadband speeds increase and websites become increasingly sophisticated, video marketing is really taking off. Venture capital firm KPCB estimate that almost three quarters of internet traffic distributed during 2017 will be video content, though this does include streaming media services. Nevertheless, the concept of watching videos online has become the norm rather than the exception, with those stuttering 1990s’ AVIs giving way to buffer-free HD streams. There’s huge traction for videos on social media, with 500 million people watching Facebook videos every day, and four-fifths of Twitter users doing likewise. Adding the word ‘video’ to an email subject line boosts open rates and slashes unsubscribe levels, while embedding a video in the email can treble click-through rates. It’s even been reported that viewers retain 95 per cent of a video’s messages, compared to just 10 per cent of text-based content. Such statistics have naturally attracted the attention of marketing managers and entrepreneurs, desperate to engage with audiences and find new ways to spread their messages. As a result, corporate videos have become big business. With modern smartphones able to record in HD or even 4K, and free editing software available to meld clips into a seamless montage, we are undoubtedly living in an age of video marketing. A video represents a great way to make a point, tell a story or sell something. It should inform and excite an audience, explaining how your products or services can benefit them. A behind-the-scenes documentary-style video may bring humanity and warmth to an otherwise impersonal or anonymous brand, particularly if it contains talking-head testimonials. These are way more influential among potential consumers than a thousand corporate soundbites. In this special feature, we look at video production costs, from hiring professional crews through to taking the DIY route. We consider various hosting options, and discuss ways to maximize engagement once a file has been uploaded. We’ve also included ten golden rules every successful business videos adheres to; after all, maintaining an audience’s attention during a video is rather different to retaining their attention with advertising or a blog… What does a video typically cost to make? Like many aspects of running a business, the answer to this question varies hugely. It is theoretically possible to bring video production costs down to zero if you have suitable recording and editing equipment. You’ll also need storyboarding and scriptwriting abilities, plus access to people who can present or appear in the film, unless it’s a product video for a sales platform or ecommerce site. Alternatively, you could subcontract the job… (i)             Employing professionals Video production pricing can escalate rapidly, and there used to be a common rule of thumb within the industry that one minute of professional-standard video cost roughly $1,000. In the last couple of years, video production pricing has decreased thanks to a combination of growing competition and greater hardware affordability. Even a 4K video camera only weighs a couple of kilograms and costs a couple of thousand dollars, enabling production companies to slash their costs. With plenty of review portals and customer testimonials floating around, it’s easy to find a decent video production company in your local area. Even so, $750 for one minute of footage represents a considerable outlay, and video production costs remain a key barrier for smaller businesses. According to Buffer, almost half of marketing professionals would create more video content if they had more time and a larger budget. Then again, web analyst Dr James McQuivey claims that one minute’s worth of video is worth as much as 1.8 million words when it comes to promoting a brand. In that context, every cent invested in video can be considered worthwhile. These are some of the ways to reduce video production pricing: *     Have a clear idea before you call the professionals. Don’t ask the production team to produce storyboards, edit scripts or undertake casting. If you’ve done all this yourself at the outset, the camera crew will know exactly what they’re doing for each shot. That reduces retakes, which saves time and money. It also allows the movie’s editors to quickly compile a video meeting the brief, without the need for revisions or additions. *     Use editing tricks to disguise cost-cutting. When you watch an interview, there are usually cutaways to the interviewer before their subject answers. Most broadcasters record these questions before or after the actual interview, so they only need a single camera on-set. There are loads of other ways to reduce filming or editing costs, such as using copyright-free music and sound effects. We discuss this in more detail below. *     Avoid animations. An animated video can cost between three and ten times as much as a conventional live-action movie. Animators are skilled craftspeople in great demand, and animated clips pose unique challenges like dubbing on voiceovers. A huge number of cartoons or drawings are needed to fill the 25 frames in each second of video footage, while meme-style graphics videos look tacky and unprofessional. *     Employ rookie firms, or graduates. An established company’s video production pricing will  be many times higher than those of a new graduate, who’ll still have a decent portfolio and a working knowledge of Apple Final Cut or Adobe Premiere. Bear in mind consumers are only expecting steady camera shots, audible sound and slick captions. They won’t know or care who produced or edited a short movie. Ask prospective companies for quotes rather than estimates, and find out what will happen if the filming schedule overruns, which it usually does. Who will pick up the bill if an actor fails to arrive on set, or if ambient weather conditions prevent an outdoor shoot from going ahead? Will you be able to request revisions to the first-draft edit, and is a soundtrack included in the proposed costings? Videos without some sort of ambient music can seem surprisingly dull. (ii)           Doing it yourself This is a risky strategy, but potentially a highly affordable one. Even a decade ago, it would have been easy to spot a self-made video. However, technology’s relentless progression means each of the key areas involved in creating a corporate video can now be covered to a relatively professional standard by an enthusiastic amateur.   How to avoid video production costs by doing it yourself: *     Video footage. It isn’t necessary to record video footage in the highest definition possible. HD content will be fine, since nobody is expecting eye-popping quality from a corporate video. Framing the shots well is far more important. Ensure vertical lines are straight rather than crooked by using tripods or a Gorillapod to hold the camera steady, and consider what’s out of frame as much as what’s in shot. *     Sound quality. This is one area where video production costs can quickly escalate. Integrated microphones in tablets and smartphones are generally weak, but it’s possible to buy external mics to dovetail with everything from 4K cameras to iPhones. There’s an important distinction between unidirectional mics (which face in one specific direction) and omnidirectional (used to capture sound from all around). *     Editing software. Sophisticated programs like CyberLink’s PowerDirector or Adobe’s Premiere Elements can be purchased for less than $100. The latter is a cut-down version of Adobe’s market-leading Pro CC package, with features like haze removal and automatic soundtrack adjustment to match clip length. While learning how to use these packages can take time, it is possible to generate dynamic footage very cheaply. *     Music. The Free Music Archive is perhaps the best-known provider of copyright-free audio downloads. Each file will have some restrictions on its use, but these are far less draconian than recordings whose copyright is owned by record labels. Websites like Freesound offer specific noises and sound effects for general reuse, though a small donation should be made whenever you raid a creative commons-style portal. How do I host the video? Once you’ve made or acquired an edited video clip, the next decision is where and how to host it. These are the main hosting options: *     Self-hosting. From WordPress templates to bespoke site designs, it’s easy to upload video clips stored on your server alongside other web content. HTML5 has made embedding videos far easier, though it does have issues with codec standards. Avoid full-screen playback, and bear in mind HTML5 doesn’t support DRM or adaptive streaming, which adjusts according to the bandwidth capacity of output devices. *     Upload it to YouTube. As one of the world’s most popular websites, it’s almost unheard of for YouTube’s servers to be offline. Parent company Google has made its vast infrastructure available, so movies can be hosted remotely yet played on your site as if your own server was supplying the content. Since YouTube retains overall control of the file, it might be preceded by ads or followed with unrelated content. YouTube videos can also be embedded in your web pages, which leads us onto our next point … *     Embed your file from a third-party platform. It’s possible to use video hosting platforms like Vimeo and Dailymotion to host content that is then played through a window within a page of your website. The host servers handle buffering and bit rates, while your server supplies other page content like text and formatting. This is the preferred method of video hosting, though each platform has unique drawbacks. These options are all technically free, yet each involves compromises. Option 1 may necessitate upgrading your servers to ensure there’s sufficient bandwidth for multiple audiences to view a file simultaneously. Midphase will gladly discuss the optimal hosting package to ensure your clients can enjoy lag-free video provision. Options 2 and 3 capitalize on some of the world’s most powerful servers, but they do involve relinquishing a degree of control over your own content. That may be painful if you’ve invested heavily in creating a slick promo video, only to discover your chosen hosting platform is prefacing it with a tacky advert for an unrelated product or service. How can I get people to watch the video? If you’ve gone to the expense of commissioning and producing a video, you will want it to pay for itself. And the statistics suggest it will – providing people see it. An entire subset of the marketing industry has developed around optimizing view rates for video content, attracting maximum eyeballs and allowing those carefully crafted sales messages to reach the widest possible audience. There are plenty of ways to ensure a worthwhile return on creating a video: *     Repost it on social media. Platforms like Snapchat and Facebook are great for sharing and reposting content. The more outlets your video is displayed on, the better. People tend to have one preferred social media platform, so you’ll be reaching new audiences every time you post on a new site. Don’t forget that with over a billion users, YouTube is the world’s second largest search engine behind parent company Google. *     Create blogs and news stories linking to the video. Blogs are great traffic drivers, but they need a destination to send their audiences to. There’s a lot to be said for finishing your latest blog or news post with a call to arms, encouraging people to watch a video for more information. If you end up creating more than one video, it’s easy to set up a dedicated channel on a platform like YouTube and organically build a following. *     Email marketing. Despite ongoing issues regarding spam filters, email marketing remains an effective tool for disseminating a message. That’s especially true for video content. Research indicates marketing emails with a video can double or treble click-through rates, making consumers 64 percent more likely to buy a product online. Emails are also easy to share and forward, spreading the message far and wide. *     Choose a dynamic thumbnail. If the opening frames of your video are a black screen fading into a product montage, you don’t want the first frame as your thumbnail. Think about how programmes on streaming services are often presented with a dynamic image from each series or episode. Pick something eye-catching to stand out from the millions of other online videos, making people want to click Play. *     Employ SEO. Videos can be tagged with search engine-friendly terms that will come up in results pages separately to the hosting pages themselves. Use a platform like Kissmetrics to identify terms people use to search for your industry or product/service, and ensure the file is appropriately tagged. Its title is also crucial; it should incorporate keywords, while being as clear and as concise as possible. *     Inbound links. Internal links on your site are good, but links from third-party platforms will boost your site’s SEO by inferring it contains valuable content. Of course, the video needs to be relevant to these external firms or people, so consider who might be willing to promote it. Linking to it ought to be as easy as copying and pasting a URL, but avoid spammy link farms that may damage your SEO ranking. *     Don’t forget about it! A well-made video should be durable, promoting your business for months or years to come. It might receive new views at any time, so it’s crucial to maintain promotional efforts. If the platform hosting it accepts comments, set up interaction notifications, and reply to every post. Periodically promote the video afresh – some of your audience will already know about, it but many others won’t. What do I need to know before making a corporate video? Below  are ten golden rules you should follow when scripting and editing a corporate video, to ensure it maintains audience attention and justifies its expenditure… *     Keep it short. There’s a reason TV ads tend to be less than a minute long. Attention spans are short and a sub-two-minute video clip will receive more engagement. Don’t let a camera shot last for longer than necessary, avoid fade in/out effects, and don’t leave subtitles on-screen longer than an average person needs to read them. Quick cuts between camera shots help to build a sense of dynamism. *     Be professional. Just because you’ve got an iPhone with 4K video capabilities doesn’t mean you’ll end up with a slick business video. Better to employ a video marketing agency than produce an amateurish attempt yourself. If you are going to create a DIY movie, invest in a tripod so the camera remains steady. Avoid wacky or silly content that will suggest unprofessionalism and potentially damage your brand’s credibility. *     Front-load the core message. Although two thirds of people watch the vast majority of a video, some will abandon ship at the first opportunity. On platforms like YouTube, that’s often within five seconds. Place a core message at the start of the video for people to take away – the AV equivalent of an email’s Subject line. The first half-dozen words might just stick in their minds, boosting brand recall at a later date. *     Add color. Can you present a to-camera piece in a dynamic location? Are your company’s products available in bright colors that can all be displayed at once? The human eye can see up to ten million colors, so don’t have someone in a black suit talking to-camera against a black backdrop. More visually stimulating videos retain an audience’s attention for longer. Colorful graphics and captions stand out more, too. *     Avoid long pieces to-camera or monologue voiceovers. Hearing the same voice speaking for a while can become dull, as does a fixed ‘talking head’ shot. If you have to deliver a monologue, break it up with reverse camera angles, or mix to-camera dictation with action shots or behind-the-scenes footage. It’s helpful to include two voices on the soundtrack, with a soft, upbeat musical score filling any silences. *     Add a splash of humor. In point one, we counseled against silliness. However, self-deprecating humor is fine, as are jokes aimed at major rivals or industry standards. For instance, if you’re a gourmet burger supplier, it’d be fine to show a squashed hamburger with the caption “product from leading competitor”. Test your suggestions on family and friends to gauge whether they elicit a suitably enthusiastic reaction. *     Build associations. Video is a two-sense platform, with no touch, smell or taste. That’s why washing powder companies often use footage of meadows, for example, inferring what the ads can’t otherwise convey. These associations can be projected through cutaway shots, backdrops or words used in the voiceover or captions. Use terms like ‘trust’ or ‘quality’, and try to show a product or service being used to deliver its core benefits. *     Leave contact details on-screen. People might abandon your video at any point, so leave web addresses and key social media details on-screen or periodically flash them up. Nobody will mind this in a business video – you’re not creating a Hollywood movie. Monitor click-through rates from embedded links or canonical URLs, and measure each video’s response rates for lessons you can learn with future output. *     Don’t rely on sound. Mobile audiences often consume video content with their devices set to mute, to avoid loud adverts or autoplaying content erupting into quiet public spaces. An estimated 85 per cent of Facebook videos are watched without sound, so captions and graphics need to relay the core messages of your video. Treat voiceovers and musical scores as a bonus, but ensure audio tracks are crisp and clear.   Include a call to arms. Videos are created for one of several purposes including lead generation, driving traffic to a website or raising brand awareness. Conclude with a graphic/voiceover encouraging people to perform your preferred action. Most videos finish with contact details on-screen anyway, but inject a degree of urgency with a time-limited offer, or encouraging people to act before competitors do likewise http://dlvr.it/PS7tWr www.regulardomainname.com

“The shimmering ocean burns into our memories as the day ends with us unable to fly. But this doesn't last forever. You don't know what's truly important until it breaks. I think that's probably when I realized it. Not just me, but i'm sure everyone else too.”
-          Kana, FLCL Alternative (Ep. 01)
The Toonami Trending Rundown for March 31-April 1, 2018. For the first time since the 2012 revival, Toonami was center stage on Adult Swim’s infamous April Fools pranks. Many of those who watched Toonami back on that night will agree that it was a magical night and was a sign of good things to come for anime, as the block would see its eventual revival, leading to where we are today. So what would Toonami do for an encore to that memorable night 6 years ago? We’ll, following the regular scheduled programs of Dragon Ball Super, DBZ Kai, and Black Clover, on the stroke of midnight, they did something many thought they would do when pigs fly and hell froze over…air subtitled anime.
And for 6 hours, they did, as Toonami showcased a surprise premiere of the first episode of FLCL 3 Alternative. This was followed by a presentation of the 2004 cult hit film Mind Game, directed by Masaaki Yuasa, whom previously directed the Kickstarter funded short Kick-Heart, which aired on Toonami in 2013, and more recently the Netflix hit Devilman Crybaby. And the block finished off with airing subtitled versions of every program originally scheduled for the night (including the start of Naruto’s Five Kage summit) with the exception of Gundam IBO, which didn’t join the fun due to rights issues to air the sub here, among other things.
Hell, they even took the joke as far as having TOM and SARA speak in Japanese, with Masa Kanome and Fusako Shiotani taking on the roles respectively. According to Jason DeMarco, the entire idea of airing subbed anime for April Fools came from the idea of Adult Swim head Mike Lazzo, and the Toonami crew agreed that it would be fun and unexpected for viewers. Although it’s very unlikely subtitled material will ever air on Toonami again, and it could be awhile before the pendulum swings in favor of movies being more practical for Toonami to air more frequently again, as we’ve seen time and again, if Toonami has taught us anything, it’s that we should never give up and nothing is impossible, and as this night shown us, anything can happen.
On Twitter, Toonami would trend along with DBZ Kai, FLCL (Including FLCL Alternative), Adult Swim, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and Hunter x Hunter. On Tumblr, Toonami would trend alongside Dragon Ball Super and FLCL.

Those that have been keeping up with simulcasts may know that the new season of anime titles have been making their debuts this week, some of which we may see on the better cartoon show down the line. Three previous Toonami-aired shows are of special mention, as they begin the next chapters to their respective franchises with Lupin the Third Part V, Sword Art Online: Alternative Gun Gale Online, and Tokyo Ghoul:re. Could we see them down the line on the better cartoon show? I personally believe we’ll see them sooner or later, but all I can say is if that if you want to see these franchises return or if you see a new show that you would recommend, send your show requests to Toonami’s Facebook and Tumblr message boxes as well as letting the respective distributors know on their respective outlets, and we’ll see what happens. In the meantime, for those wanting to see the subtitled simulcasts of these 3 potential shows, Lupin Part V and Alternative GGO will be available on Crunchyroll and Hulu beginning on Tuesday and Saturday respectively, while TG:re will be simulcasted on Funimation Now and Hulu beginning on Tuesday.
In terms of shows we’ll be seeing in the near future, due to various reasons, Toonami has been pretty silent recently when it comes to show announcements, including the mystery show that was supposed to replace Lupin still unannounced, leading to people pushing the panic button to say the least. Jason DeMarco however, doesn’t seem so worried, mentioning that “The block is doing great! The next two shows we have coming are something I think will surprise people!”
Next week, Toonami will begin a transitional period of sorts for FLCL’s revival as well as other new shows in the works, as FLCL will have an encore run beginning on April 14 at 11:30pm EDT. However, with season 2 still just 8 weeks away, and FLCL 1 only having 6 episodes plus the Memorial Day weekend break prior to Progressive’s debut, Toonami will showcase an encore viewing of Countdown and Scavengers on the timeslot.

Unfortunately for Black Clover fans, to make way for this transition, the show will have to be moved to 1 am Eastern for the foreseeable future. Black Clover haters are probably salivating to the schedule programmers for listening to their complaints, but that’s probably not the reason it was moved (more likely since JoJo’s and Gundam IBO’s respective seasons are ending sooner, they probably didn’t want to mess with the schedule too much, not to mention fans want new shows premiered as early as possible to attract new viewers, so long running shows tend to be pushed later to make way, something which Hunter x Hunter and Naruto had to deal with) and regardless if I were them, I wouldn’t celebrate too much. The show is overall still here until next year, and it’s not like My Hero Academia or Made in Abyss are coming anytime soon.
Of course, for those that decided to tune out early or want to rewatch the shows dubbed, Toonami will return to the regular schedule next week (including said above changes) with all the episodes that were apart of the April Fools Joke (with the exception of FLCL Alternative which will be shown in September and Mind Game as no dub is presently available) shown again in their English dubs.
See you again next week as always, congratulations to Villanova on winning the Naitonal Championship, and we’d like to wish a Happy 20th anniversary to the Cowboy Bebop and Trigun franchises. Thanks for the memories.

“Let me guess, you're gonna say "Did you planned this too, JoJo?" Why are you even asking? I set the trap and you walked right into it. All of this went down like clockwork. (I just got lucky, but thinking I outsmarted him will drive Kars nuts.)”
-          Joseph Joestar, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (Ep. 26)
The Toonami Trending Rundown for April 15-16, 2017. It was a big milestone night as Toonami’s 20th anniversary celebrations come to its conclusion. We reach the midway point of Samurai Jack, while we also commemorate a full year of Hunter x Hunter airing on Toonami as Kurapika has his memorable battle against Uvogin, and Dragon Ball Super completes the Battle of Gods saga. And of course, we end off JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Battle Tendency story arc, and thus season 1 as well, with a bang.
On Twitter, every show successfully trended during their respective East Coast airings, as well as Samurai Jack and Dragon Ball Super during their respective West Coast airings. In addition, JoJo’s, Samurai Jack, and Dragon Ball Super would also trend on tumblr.
Samurai Jack’s buzz also produced a character trend with the Scotsman as he recruits an army together to attack Aku’s palace. Unfortunately things didn’t go as planned as Aku easily steamrolls the army and blows the Scotsman to bones, though with some Celtic magic, he returns as a Force Ghost now hoping to regroup and find Jack before doing it all over again.
This week also marked the conclusion of the 5 part mini-series Sand Whale and Me. Whether you thought it was either a fun short or it just gave you an excuse to have an extra 5 minute bathroom and/or snack break, this one was rather interesting experiment from Adult Swim and Production IG to say the least. Of course, Adult Swim does like having experimental programming every now and then, and it should be interesting what else they might have in mind down the line. If you want to re-watch Sand Whale and Me from the beginning, click here to check it out on Adult Swim’s site.
As the 20th anniversary celebrations come to a close, we look forward to what the future brings, including the return of the Titans. Toonami also showcased the promo for the broadcast dub of the new season of Attack on Titan, which the buzz of its return would make #AttackOnTitanSeason2 trend on Twitter and #AttackOnTitan trend on tumblr partly as a result. You can check it out below.

Also occurring this Saturday, Sword Art Online will be returning to the movies, as the dub for Ordinal Scale will be showcased in select theaters. If you’re planning on going, we hope you enjoy this one.

Ever since its original debut in Shonen Jump in 1987, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has grown to become a best selling manga series, spanning 8 story arcs and over 118 volumes and counting. (To put in perspective, Naruto ended at 72 volumes while One Piece is at 84 and counting.) Despite its popularity, it wasn’t until fairly recently that the manga would be exported to western shores, and while JoJo’s has had a few OVAs and movies in the 90’s and 2000’s, the franchise never got its big break in the anime scene until this very anime was released in Japan in 2012.
Despite the show’s boom in popularity following the anime’s release, and despite the high demand from JoJo fans to eventually see this in the better cartoon show, it would take 4 more years for its break on Toonami to materialize. For one, it took until Fall 2015 for a dub to be produced by Warner Bros. And despite being in the same parent company as Cartoon Network and Turner Broadcasting, Warner was not willing to partner up with Toonami to air JoJo's unless they were willing to pay a fortune for broadcast rights.
It seemed that JoJo’s was doomed to never make it to Toonami at one point. But JoJo fans would never give up, and as we’ve seen time and again, nothing is impossible for the better cartoon show. Due to various reasons, Warner would eventually transfer the dubbing and US distribution rights to Viz Media, whom have much better relations with Toonami, and during Comic-Con 2016, we finally got the announcement that JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure would finally make it to the better cartoon show, which began airing on October 15th.
9 episodes of Jonathan trying to stop Dio from world domination followed by 17 episodes of Joseph, Caesar, and Lisa Lisa stopping the Pillar Men, and this season of JoJo’s is now in the books. During the show’s run, the hashtag #JoJosBizarreAdventure successfully trended in the US during all 25 weeks of its run, including during the Christmas 2016 marathon as well as this week’s doubleheader finale. In 7 of those occasions, the show also trended worldwide. JoJo’s buzz also produced a character trend in Lisa Lisa as her character was being introduced.

So now the wait begins for part 3, Stardust Crusaders, which is presently being dubbed by Viz Media. We’re presently not sure when this dub will be ready or when and if Toonami will be renewing the series, but with a good ratings performance for Season 1, demand from the fans for more JoJo’s, and Jason and the crew liking the series, the odds look pretty good that Stardust Crusaders will eventually make it to Toonami airwaves at some point. At this point, it’s up to Toonami, Viz, and the Japanese distributors to get the deal done. Hopefully the wait will be a lot shorter than the one for season 1 this time around.
With Stardust Cusaders up next, Diamond is Unbreakable down the line, in addition to at least 5 more story arcs still to be animated, JoJo’s looks to be a show we’ll be enjoying for perhaps years to come. Whatever the Joestar family has for us next, I’m sure it’ll be a fun ride.

Tune in next week as Attack on Titan returns to Toonami with the long awaited English broadcast dub premiere of Season 2 at 12:30am Eastern, while Samurai Jack shows off its second half, and Dragon Ball Super begins the Resurrection F saga (although do keep in mind that Super tends to have a “breather episode” or two in between arcs before getting to the real biz), among other great moments. And of course, Tokyo Ghoul will continue airing on its regular scheduled time at 1am.
Until next week, enjoy the playoffs and stay gold as always.
