When precise flow measurement is required in remote regions where mains power is unavailable, our solar-powered flow meters can be used. They can be designed to get back up even up to one week in absence of solar power, especially in monsoon season.
Solar-powered devices might be an excellent way to save money when it comes to powering flow meters in distant regions.
This solar power system can be used to power both an electromagnetic flow meter and an ultrasonic flow meter.

YOU'VE RUINED MY LIFE BY NOT BEING MINE | LYNEY
notes this chapter switches from lyney to reader, but you’ll notice right away when it does ^__^ and i also wanted to plug in my hcs of aether sjdkwd, wc 2.1k

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lyney has had many embarrassing moments in his life. Everyone has their moments, eventually, and Lyney’s not the type to keep track of all of them. He couldn’t even count them with his hands if he tried—it’d be as long as Lynette’s weekly receipt of sweets.
The first he could remember was performing in front of a live audience. He forgot his lines, cowered across expectant eyes, and fumbled with his tricks, but he didn’t regret it. That experience made him the illustrious magician he is today.
There was a time when Lyney wasn’t too used to you addressing him so directly and face-planted on the floor when you called out his name.
He used to hear from the other orphans all the damn time: “Aren’t you at least a little embarrassed?” They never understood why Lyney kept returning to you, even after pushing him away. They never got to understand how thrilling it all was. He was just a little kid with an infatuation—why was he supposed to care about everyone else’s second-hand embarrassment?
He never came to regret any of those. He wouldn’t be here right now if it never came to be.
However, Master Childe standing frozen while Lyney fumbles with not letting you sway all over the place, might start steadily pushing itself towards the top five. Lyney barely dodged as you nearly elbowed him in the face. Graceless in every form in front of the 11th Harbinger.
You use Lyney to prop yourself up and whip around. “Where’s Lord Tartaglia?”
Master Childe pushes the door open, his silhouette like some angel coming down to say he will tell on ‘Father’ about Lyney hoisting the runaway Fatuu. Political-ness aside, it already looks bad enough that you’re drunk, and he’s dragging you. You hiss like some sort of vampire, and Lyney dutifully shields you from the light. Would it be rude to order Master Childe to fetch glasses of water?
“My head,” you groan.
“I’m sorry,” Lyney says, brushing hair away from your face. “Do you want to lie down?”
You’re not given a chance to lie down nor reply as Childe points a finger in Lyney’s direction.
“Hey, you,” Master Childe says, and Lyney blinks a little fearfully, spine ramrod straight. “I know you. You’re one of the orphans in the House, right?”
“What are you doing here, Master Childe?” Lyney asks, hopefully still conveying his respect.
“Well, the Northland Bank wouldn’t mind some wealthy connections,” Childe says proudly. “And one of the special guests here owes something to the Fontaine Branch.”
“You also know me, Tartaglia,” you chime in, stumbling around and revealing your face to him, wasted as hell.
Lyney holds his breath as Childe’s expression blanks. “Do I?” Childe asks indulgently.
“One of your subordinates!” you exclaim petulantly, as if sulking Childe hasn’t given you the same treatment he gave Lyney.
Childe turns sheepish. “I’m not too familiar with all of them.”
Lyney can’t tell if he’s disappointed or relieved. Instead, he brushes it off and focuses on your well-being. “Y/N, do you think you can walk on your own?”
“Of course I can,” you say, then wobble when Lyney tests it. “W-Wait—”
“Wait,” Childe says, too. “You’re Y/N?”
“Duh.” You sniff.
Lyney smiles. “Please forgive her.”
Childe’s expression does something complicated. “I’m not that good with faces. I do know you—I assigned you here.”
Something about that feels wrong to Lyney, but he’s not given any chance to think too deeply about it when Childe looks as if he is about to reach out to you. Lyney pulls away and takes two steps back when Childe raises his hands. The Harbinger blinks in confusion.
Lyney’s guard is up. “I-I’m sorry—”
Childe lifts his hands in surrender. “I don’t know what you think of me, but I assure you I’m not that kind of person..”
Lyney winces. There goes his first impression on the 11th Harbinger—disrespectful and maddeningly shameless. “Forgive me. I didn’t mean to insinuate I thought of you that way, sir.”
Master Childe laughs. “It’s fine. It’s my fault for coming off like that. Do you need help?”
This is definitely beyond rude. You sway on your feet when Lyney moves. “Mon lapin here could really use a glass of water.”
“I feel like I’m going to throw up,” you announce. Lyney and Childe, positions be damned, share the same fearful look.
Thankfully, the aristocrat’s floor was safe from the assault of your breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but the bushes outside the mansion couldn’t share the same sentiment. Lyney and Childe had a moment of silent agreement to keep quiet about this matter if they suddenly wilted.
“Does the lady need any more help?” Childe asks. He’s actually nicer than Lyney expected and even younger than they say when up close. He's less intimidating when he’s not standing across with his features darkened by the light flooding from behind—that was certainly nightmare fuel.
“No!” you exclaim. “I can go home myself,” you say, still slurring your words.
“I’m not letting you do that,” Lyney says, helplessly charmed.
“You should,” you argue, then look a little green again. “Uh oh.”
Childe takes an instinctive step back. “Are you going to throw up again?”
“No, my head,” you whine pitifully. Lyney wishes he could pull that migraine out with his bare hands, but he also finds your expression right now a little hilarious.
Lyney pinches your cheek. “I told you to lay off the alcohol.”
“Did you not want to kiss me because you were scared I would throw up in your mouth?” you ask Lyney.
Lyney freezes, eyes wide. “You’re still on to that? How much do you remember?”
He wants to ask you a million questions when you’re finally not acting so skittish, but he finds that he can’t. He realizes he hasn’t seen you like this before—not hostile or wary of him. You look nice, like everything was before it was ruined. And there was also how you willingly wanted him to kiss you.
As you press against him, Lyney watches as you deflate like a balloon faced with a needle. You sigh softly, then bury your face against his neck.
“You’re so warm,” you murmur to his skin.
Goosebumps blossom all over his body. Your face brushes against the side of his neck. “Do you hate it?”
“I like it. My hands are cold. Every part of you is warm.”
“Would you like me to warm you up?”
“Mhm. Thanks.”
This is so unfair. Lyney wants to bury his face in your hair and hide there, hoping you’d cling to him forever like this. But that won’t happen in this lifetime or any other one. (He doesn’t pry you off in this lifetime, however.)
The grand entrance doors slide open. Lynette emerges from the party with a tentative look on her face. She swiftly rushes over to Lyney, then is visibly startled when she notices Master Childe still hanging around.
Oh. Right. Why the hell is Master Childe still here?
Lynette bows her head, addressing their superior. He laughs and waves it off like he’s no one important in the streets. His sister turns to him, whispering, “Lyney, ‘Father’ is looking for us. She’s asking for us right now.”
Lyney’s skin crawls. “What? Why now?”
She shakes her head, her eyes flicking back and forth between you and Childe. “I’m not sure. She wasn’t supposed to come this early.”
Lyney frowns, glancing down at you. “I can’t just…”
“We can’t bring her there with ‘Father’ in, too,” Lynette murmurs. Lyney curses, knowing she’s right.
“What’s wrong?” you ask from where you’re pressed against Lyney. “Oh! Hi, ‘nette!”
“Hello, Y/N,” Lynette says warmly. It seems fondness for Y/N runs in the family. “Do you have anywhere to go to? May I ask where it is?”
“Yes, of course I do!”
Lynette looks over to Lyney. “I don’t think this is going to work.”
Lyney, as much as he hates to, glances back at Childe, who is, unfortunately, and fortunately, still standing there.
“Good idea,” Lynette praises, seemingly catching on to what Lyney is thinking.
“That’s her boss,” Lyney says, instinctively shielding you from him. “What if she gets fired because of this?”
“She won’t be,” Lynette says. “And I’m sure that Master Childe would at least make sure Y/N is somewhere safe before he leaves. And right now, we have to do that, too.”
Lyney doesn’t want to, but he doesn’t trust showing you to ‘Father’, too. It’s been too long—he doesn’t know what ‘Father’ would think of you, and her decisions happen in a split-second.
“Lyney,” Lynette says, in the tone of Let’s not keep ‘Father’ waiting.
Perhaps Lyney really isn’t thinking straight himself. “Master Childe?” Lyney calls out. He takes a deep breath and says, “We are in your debt.”
You wake up to a pounding headache and realize that Aether’s hair glows in the dark when fully blacked out. You had an inkling when it looked like Aether was illuminated at night, but seeing it up close is startling.
“Holy shit! Aether, your hair!” You sit up but belatedly regret it when the migraine returns to full force. “Holy shit,” you say again, for a different reason this time.
“Stop swearing,” Aether sighs, looking alien as he moves and speaks like a human being, yet his hair radiates light like the sun—literally. “Can we pull the curtains open?”
“Nooo,” you sob. “I want to sleep again. It hurts.”
“Paimon, if you will.”
The fairy salutes and shows no sliver of mercy as you’re ravaged by sunlight piercing your eyes. It feels like all your cells are screaming in protest. Or maybe you’re the one screaming.
“Huh,” Aether says thoughtfully. “Just as I suspected. You’re wearing the same shade of lipstick.”
You don’t care about your lips right now. Thinking about how dry your mouth is has you wanting to throw up. “What does that even mean?”
Aether ignores it. He’s starting to act like a stern, disappointing mother. “Do you remember what happened last night? Imagine my surprise when I see Childe sneaking in my teapot, carrying you like a passed-out damsel.”
Memories of last night flashed behind your eyelids, most of them featuring the 11th Harbinger, and your blood runs cold. “Oh no.”
“He’s still here, and he’s asking to talk with you.”
Your cells haven’t stopped screaming; they’re scattering around in panic. You certainly feel as if you’re being jostled around. “I think I’m going to throw up again.”
Pitying you, Aether reaches from the bedside desk and hands a glass full of water that’s delightfully the perfect temperature. But apparently, he doesn’t pity you enough to not drag you out of bed.
You didn’t understand what Aether meant when he said Teapot, but while on the way to where Childe was resting, Paimon explained that you were all walking in a floating teapot hanging around somewhere in some corner of Fontaine. Faintly, you wondered if you were still drunk.
Master Childe is all sprawled legs on the living room couch. He senses your presence right away, waving with a bright smile.
“I think I did pretty well last night, comrade.” Childe flashes a grin to Aether, who rolls his eyes. “They didn’t question anything!”
“It’s because you’re their superior.” Aether turns to you, plucking the empty glass from your shaky fingers. “Sit beside them. I have something to ease your migraine.”
You could cry. Instead, you obediently sit beside the feared and renowned 11th Harbinger, moving as stiff as a board.
“Hey.” Childe tilts his head as he studies your face. “You look pale.”
“Sir!” You bow, then promptly start retching.
Chidle laughs, “Calm down, calm down. You don’t have to be so formal. You spoke easily last night.”
“I was drunk,” you murmur, face heating up. You couldn’t recall how easily you spoke to him last night—it’s all a blur. Thinking too hard about it has you dizzy.
“Loosen up then. You’re a friend of the Traveler, aren’t you? That makes us comrades, too.” Childe sinks into his seat, grinning. “I already got the gist of the situation. I gotta say, that’s dangerous deceiving the Arlecchino, of all people.”
“If it involved Teucer, wouldn’t you do the same?” Aether chimes in, entering the room, holding a tray with three glasses.
Chidle guffaws, “Fair enough!”
Paimon settles beside you, looking as alien as Aether earlier by sitting down. Your drink looked different from Paimon’s and Childe’s, but you reasoned that Aether still needed your intel to not poison you.
“It wasn’t part of the agreement to have to see my subordinates canoodling, though,” Childe says offhandedly. “Your boyfriend was like a leech.”
“Lyney is not my boyfriend,” you say automatically.
Childe laughs at first, but it dies down seeing your confusion.
“Oh,” he says. “Oh.” He turns to Aether, who nods sagely, world-weary.

In most city builders the unofficial (sometimes, explicit) goal is to grow your city - get a large amount of money, a large population and large tax income, unlock cool buildings, etc - and, while you can play it that way, the real unofficial goal of Workers & Resources is self-sufficiency.
While in the early game you're necessarily reliant on foreign trade to purchase raw materials, even hire foreign skilled labourers, and depend on exports to make up your currency deficit, the excitement of the game comes about once you fully control all steps of a given production process. You go from importing electricity - to mining, transporting, and refining coal for your own domestic power plants. And that applies to every single resource chain in the game, from bread, to concrete, to railway carriages.
What really sells me on the whole thing is this - in 'realistic' mode, the ability to construct buildings purely from money is removed. You can still import materials and labour, but you need to actually get them there. The process for starting out your city goes like this:
Set up mud tracks (the only free road type) from a border customs office. Build the free versions (which is to say, designated dirt lots) of a construction office, a fuel depot, and a road logistics office. From the border, buy vehicles with cash - cement mixers, dump trucks, asphalt pavers and steamrollers, a bus to bring foreign workers to your construction site, and don't forget a fuel tanker to supply your fuel depot. At this point you have a muddy construction site with some cars parked on it. Start construction on worker housing, the electrical substation for the housing, a water pump and water treatment plant (or, just a water tower to import water into), a small store to feed them - and hopefully it's not cold enough that you need a central heating block. Congrats, now get your construction offices carrying out each individual stage of construction in turn, requiring different resources and vehicles at each part, until, over dozens and dozens of workdays, you've finally built a single worker accomodation. Take in some workers, who are probably a bit annoyed that there aren't any bars or sports complexes around, and you've finally, after months of construction works, got your first residents. Now they need an actual workplace - and, luckily, you've now got a local workforce to construct it. Give it time, and this remote patch of dirt will be constructing nuclear power stations.
I feel like, in the way games like Banished (or, more topically, Manor Lords, I think? I've never played it) turn city-building into a survival game, by just semi-accurately portraying the precarity of a peasant economy, Workers & Resources definitely makes you feel like a stressed planner fighting against production itself, rather than your own citizens, like in Cities Skylines or the like.

Fallout Fan Theory: The Cloud
So I have a theory as to what the cloud is in Dead Money. I've been researching others opinions and everyone I've seen as been summed up "created by some experiment" or "chemical weapons". But I don't think that's the case. I think it's something already existent.
Let's start off with the characteristics of the cloud.
Corrosive
Blood red
Seen as a vapor, but also as residue
Toxic to inhale
Symptoms from coming in contact including: trouble breathing, burns, death
Smells like copper/metallic
This sounds to me like bromine. Bromine is a naturally occurring halogen with the atomic number 35 on the periodic table. It is highly corrosive and at room temperature, is a liquid that gives off blood red fumes. Due to the location of the Sierra Madre, we can assume that it is well above room temperature which explains why we may see more cloud as a gas than liquid, and explains why we can find residue to scrape up. Now why would it be there in the first place?
Common uses of bromine include:
Water treatment
HVAC refrigerant
Fire retardants
Preservatives
Well drilling and precious metal mining
Which could explain why it was first discovered in ventilation, as it is one of the most common refrigerants in HVAC. Now you may argue that it was still part of an experiment, but we never find evidence that they made the chemical. At the Z-43 Innovative Toxins Plant in the Old World Blues DLC, they're studying chemicals toxic to humans. Perhaps one of the studies was to see what prolonged exposure to bromine would do.
Another thing mentioned about the cloud, is how it seems to have preserved the area. Bromine is used as a food preservative. BVO or Brominated Vegetable Oil is used to preserve processed foods and beverages, though due to bromines toxic nature, is banned from use in several countries.
I replayed Dead Money and Old World Blues to get this information because I do not trust Fandom wiki. I also spent way too long researching bromine. I'd like to clarify that I am by no means saying I'm necessarily correct. I'd also like to clarify that I am writing this at 4 am. So I'm sorry if this is a jumbled mess. I am sleep deprived. Do with this post what you will.

Chapter 3 - Don't Bet On It
Mihawk POV
He hadn’t heard any screaming in the night, so either you were killed quickly or you had survived the night. Mihawk came down from his bedroom to the kitchen for his morning cup of tea. He was used to being the first one up and relished the solitude of the early morning. That is, until he entered the kitchen.
“Good mornin’ sunshine,” you said sipping a cup of coffee at the table.
Mihawk was even less inclined to speak in the morning, but felt obligated to respond.
“Good morning, Y/N. I hope you had a pleasant night in the shed.”
“Oh yeah, it was great. Was the perfect night for stargazing, too. Anyway, gotta get goin’. Lots to do today and I’m burnin’ sunlight.” With that, you finished the last of your coffee, rinsed the cup and went on your way. His day was off kilter and it hadn’t even begun.
Y/N POV
You had a lot of work to do today - you had to move some vegetables that were in unsuitable locations, weed, water, plant, mulch, and so much more. But you loved what you did, so you were looking forward to it all. You didn’t know why Mihawk had warned you about the humandrills. One had come up to you, sword in hand to attack. You weren’t sure why but offered him to sit and watch the night sky with you instead. He accepted and you spent an amicable few hours pointing out constellations and explaining their history to him. You thought he was sweet, and maybe could be put to good use for larger projects.
You looked out at the farm and mentally started organizing your tasks for the day. You began with watering as many of the plants looked parched. You had just about finished when Mihawk came to stand beside you. He was wearing another elaborate outfit with his sword strapped to his back. You ignored him and kept watering. When done, you needed to move on to a larger task - replanting some feather asparagus that had been planted too shallowly. You glanced at Mihawk, who still hadn’t said a word. He looked so solemn and stately you couldn’t resist the urge to ruffle his feathers.
“Could you be a doll and use your sword to make a narrow trench over there?” pointing to another area of the farm. Mihawk’s eye twitched.
“That would not be a suitable use for Yoru.”
“Well then grab a shovel pumpkin’ because we have to get digging.” With that, you sauntered over to the shed to collect your tools. He didn’t respond but you’d had your fun anyway.
You spent a beautiful morning digging and replanting the asparagus. During the time, you shared some facts and tips for growing feather asparagus, which generated some conversation with Mihawk. Once done, you stopped for a water break.
Sitting beside one another in the shade of a tree, you offhandedly said to him “by the way, do we have any ale here?”
“It is early in the day to be drinking, is it not?”
You laughed and said “no, not for me. Pourin’ some ale on the stalks of your beef tomatoes will keep slugs from gettin’ to ‘em.”
“I have read in my farming guides that the best way to keep slugs off beef tomatoes is an application of cumin powder in the soil around the base of the plant. It is inoffensive to the plants but the slugs do not tolerate it.”
“Yeah, that’ll work, but ale works better.”
“The farming guide I am referencing is the most well researched guide currently available. Ale is not listed as a method of slug deterrence.”
“Care to make a bet, swordsman?” you said with a devious look on your face.
Mihawk maintained his neutral expression but said “what are the terms?”
“We’ll split the plants in two groups. You do your treatment, I’ll do mine. In the end, let’s say a week, we’ll see who has fewer slugs. That is, if you are confident in your ‘research guide’.”
“Mmmm. And what does the winner receive?”
You looked up in thought. “If I win, you have to give me a new bottle of that wine we drank last night. If you win, I’ll move into the castle.”
“I do not care if you live in the castle or not.”
“Then I’ll do the dishes for a month, how about that.”
“Those are agreeable terms.”
“You’ve sealed your fate, sugar,” you said with a smirk.
Mihawk POV
You were right. It only took a few days of applying cumin to the dirt surrounding the tomato plants for him to see that you were having greater success with ale. Mihawk was not used to being wrong, but at least you were being a gracious winner.
After five days and countless cumin applications, Mihawk came to your shed at the end of the day, wine bottle in hand. He also brought two glasses, in case you were interested in some company. Over the past few days of working together, he found he enjoyed conversing with you. You were knowledgeable about many topics and were an avid reader, like he was. You mentioned that during off seasons and while on long sea voyages, your favorite activity was reading. You found both of you relished the same romantic series - about a swashbuckling pirate always on an adventure, but secretly yearning for true love.
He did not see much of you outside of work and meal time. There wasn’t much to do on the island, so he had assumed you would join them in the castle for entertainment. However, when you weren’t working, you were nowhere to be found. Mihawk was not expecting such an outcome. The types of people that he was used to engaging with - warlords, pirates, loose women, outlaws, merchants - would always flock to him. He would have to fend off irritating conversations, pathetic pleas, and wanton come-ons to no end. But you didn’t seem to need his company, you had a rich life all your own. Your independence of thought and lifestyle was refreshing, if not a little strange to him.
Coming to the shed, he rapped his knuckle once on the door. There was no response. Perhaps you did not hear? He rapped again, this time twice. Still no response, and no sounds coming from the shed. Though he was loath to violate your privacy, he wanted to ensure you were alright. Opening the door and peering into the shed, it was obvious you weren’t there.  It was nearing nightfall - there wasn’t any activity to do on the island. So where could you be?
Mihawk just wanted to ensure you got the wine - he was not at all worried about your whereabouts, he told himself. He called out your name, “Y/N? Are you about?”
“Over here” you called from father away.
He looked where your voice had come from. You were sitting on the ground, leaning back against a stump. You had something on your hand and you were watching it move. Mihawk came towards you and stopped in front of you.
“Hey dumplin’, what can I do you for?”
“I concede that you have won our bet. You are far more knowledgeable than my books. As the winner, I bequeath to you this bottle of wine,” he said with a small smile. He presented you with said bottle. “I have also brought glasses in case you wish to celebrate your victory now.”
“Aw, you shouldn’t have. Thank you, honey. I think tonight’s a fine night for a celebration. Go ahead and crack ‘er open for us.” You smiled up at him while an insect continued crawling on your hand.
Mihawk obliged and poured two glasses of wine. After handing one to you, you said “c’mere, sit. The grass don’t bite.” You patted the ground next to you.
Mihawk was unused to sitting on the ground. He always thought it was so unrefined. And might soil his garments. But…it did have its charm. He ignored your use of a command and sat down next to you.
“You have an insect on your hand, Y/N.”
“It’s a lantern firefly. I’ve never seen this kind before, they’re the largest variety in the Grand Line. They have a short lifespan and only live a few weeks so I’ve never been able to catch ‘em at the right time.” You nodded your head towards a glade nearby. “Look.”
In silence, the two of you watched as more fireflies lit up the darkening night sky. It was a beautiful sight, the fireflies glowing like green glass globes in the air. The air seemed to be filled with softly glowing lanterns, creating a peaceful atmosphere. You sat and enjoyed the scene, sipping your wine slowly. Mihawk did the same. You had a tranquil look on your face and a soft smile on your lips. It was an otherworldly scene, sitting next to you, watching the glow in the growing dark. This was something he would not have found on his own before you came to him. Eventually, the night sky was completely dark and the fireflies stopped appearing.
“Well, that’s that,” you said, getting up and dusting off your pants. “Have you ever seen something so wonderful?” you asked him, returning your now empty wine glass to his hand.
Looking into your eyes, he replied “not until tonight.”

I love director Tee and cinematographer Jim. I'm getting them in Hidden Agenda, and now I Feel You Linger in the Air. Look at Jom imprisoned in his own emotions. LOOK AT THIS.
Tumblr media
And the stars hanging from all the booths with barriers between him and all the merchants. Look. at. it!
Tumblr media
I just love this filming pair so much, so let's hop into Jom and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
Tumblr media
This show already has me scared.
Tumblr media
This boss is a jerk, but insert a Titanic joke.
Tumblr media
NO! Don't zoom in on the creepy shit! I don't wanna fuck with los espookys. Just give me my historical romance, damn it!
Tumblr media
And now shit is falling apart right in front of our historical romance salad.
Tumblr media
TWO YEARS?!
Tumblr media
Men really ain't shit.
Tumblr media
And she's smoking while pregnant!
Tumblr media
Now an attempted sexual assault!
Tumblr media
How quickly this turned into an episode of Club Friday Vice Versa.
Tumblr media
I like Ming; therefore, I think he will do something out of desperation that he is going to regret because he is too poor to contour.
Tumblr media
This thief is cute. Hopefully he is the "be gay, do crime" kind of guy, and not the "gonna ruin everyone's life" type.
Tumblr media
A plumeria represents beauty and new beginnings, while the jasmine represents good luck, beauty, and love. This man is making a garland.
Tumblr media
Men look so good in pastels. They could be a 6, but when they put on a pastel, they are a 9. This plant daddy was already a 10, so . . .
Tumblr media
GET OUT OF THE WATER!
Tumblr media
I didn't mute this episode because everything was pleasing to my ears, so the second episode will get the unmute treatment as well. It's Director Tee who always partners with cinematographer Jim, so the visuals are great as usual, and I don't just mean the men who are beautiful but the actual scenes were lovely.
Tumblr media
I was already excited, but next week we have sensual wrist touching!
Tumblr media
The next three months are going to be Obsession Autumn because I'm not letting one of these shows go. They are all mine, and I'm going to have to start liking the taste of coffee, so I can operate off of an unhealthy lack of sleep.
No Regrets.

8-Bit Pizza Bar
The presence of pizza and an arcade made this the most exciting spot for teens within a hundred miles.
Pepper Residence
Holly Pepper and her girlfriend Charlie were among the first locals to join Eden's Gate. They abandoned this house and were never heard from again. The cult turned the property into a grow op.

Francis plant papa headcanons 🌿
Those headcanons will be solely about mine and my girlfriend's @h-ayata human!au Francis. However, there will be some very universal ones so that everyone can get something they enjoy!
Francis is a very reluctant person when it comes to buying plants. Buying anything alive to be honest. He is a man that values life and doesn't want to buy even a little succulent if it's going to wither and die. In his opinion he is not skilled enough to take care of plants, hence doesn't want to try and gamble with the life of poor flower. This man is 'perfection or nothing' type of person in many terms, it applies here too.
Violet was the person to kinda alter that approach, or just gave him a chance to finally learn how to take a good care of plants, without this blockage. She brought many beautiful species to his home and made him realize how much he missed this flora in empty flat. The amount was overwhelming at first, sure. Nevertheless, it was a perfect opportunity that he used to learn how to properly water, repot, sprinkle, fertilize and wash those little fellas. Viola is always eager to yap about her plants so - it was a win win situation.
So he learned and grew like the greenery in his household with every passing day. He gladly helped his fresh roommate with watering, picking dead leaves and generally keeping the wellness high. Until one day he felt like he finally wants something of his own. He coerced Viola and succeeded - so on her free day off to the plant market they went. They searched far and wide for the perfect little fella for him and finally found one. It was a pink princess philodendron - he loved how unique it was. This baby is still with him to this day.
When he finally buys a plant and it is time to repot it to its forever home - one thing this man can't stand is mediocrity. No way that he is going to use some basic, universal substrate mixed with perlite and expanded clay. What is he? A peasant? No, no, no - each and every one of his plants has to have soil that he ordered online which is specifically made for that type of plant and with specific fertilizer. His plants need princess treatment, that's why he doesn't have that many. Quality over quantity.
He also had some sort of app or like a calendar where he can mark when to water every plant. He used it until he got like over 5 flowers, after that he probably just remembered when to water every one and using tracking app was just unnecessary. Reminders probably annoyed him too much after some time.

vegan radfems are so annoying I literally do not care
I like that vegans exist. I can also in some cases see the connection to feminism and the treatment of women/female animals as a whole (chauvinist attitudes around meat eating being correlated with misogyny, and how we create constant reproduction in farm animals in a way that is terrible for their bodies), although I don't really think that animal rights is a question for feminism to solve or focus on, rather maybe animal activist sub groups. I've been vegetarian for long periods (several years at a time) and cook vegan meals from time to time. But I can't seem to feel full when I don't eat any meat or fish so I ended up eating way more bread/sugar and gaining weight, and I've also developed some deficiencies (iron, primarily). I know you can avoid a lot of deficiencies even on a vegan diet, but it takes a lot more work and energy.
What I don't like is the aggression and immediate defensiveness. And I don't like the argument that some humans are braindead or have developmental disabilities and if we eat animals because they're "dumber" then nothing should stop us from eating those humans. Because if your point is "we can't eat living beings even if they don't have human intelligence" then what is actually okay to eat? I don't like being met with aggressive and extremely ridiculous arguments like that. And I know it's been said a million times in bad faith, but honestly, why is eating plants okay? We know that plants react to stimuli like light and resources like water, and we also know that many species of plants also react to being damaged. Trees warn each other with stress signals when they're "injured", so is pruning and cutting fruit trees okay just because we can't see these signals of stress without sophisticated technology? How come? If the argument against mine is that we don't kill and eat disabled people even if they're developmentally on the cognitive level of a child or even an animal (for example, pigs are generally thought to have the intelligence level of a 4 year old child), then where is the cutoff? Plants don't have central nervous systems, is that the cutoff? Can we farm and eat insects? Both of these options still have some kind of survival instinct. What makes them okay to eat?
The people who say these things aren't jainists even if they're vegan. I don't like it when vegans make the point that meat eaters are simply making emotional arguments like "I want to keep eating meat because it tastes good" when SOME amount of farming and killing is fine and necessary to vegans too. We're learning new things about animals AND plants every day. Some plants like certain species of fungi even seem to have some sort of reasoning and strategy in their patterns of growth. The arguments for eating plants are also emotional because you need to eat something to survive. What I think is a strong argument is the minimization of suffering, because those stress signals simply aren't as important as the much more obvious and material suffering of mass factory farmed animals. And also minimizing detrimental environmental effects. But that argument requires differentiation between sufferings. You have to recognize, confess almost, that some suffering is worse than other kinds. Which was my point from the beginning, a human can be cognitively aware of certain things in a way that creates terror that simply isn't present in another creature in the same way, which is why I don't think targetting those specific emotions/thoughts in an audience is the smartest idea depending on your goal.
My point has always been that the act of eating in itself can't be unethical. Eating is not morally wrong. We as a species evolved to be omnivores, so it's not unnatural or unethical to eat meat in itself. Many species are predatory. I will never be convinced that meat eating in itself is morally reprehensible. What I think is bad about the meat industry has to do with the treatment of the animals, and the effect such farming has on the environment, and the public health issue of too much meat consumption.

Cyno | Even The Smallest
ıllı Synopsis: Irrational? Stupid? Maybe, but a month without contact made you extremely lonely and insecure. The jealousy in your heart whispered unwanted thoughts. How could Cyno assure you? Would he assure you?
ıllı Genre: Romance
ıllı Warnings: Cyno x Fem!Reader, Suggestive Content, Slight Angst
ıllı A/N: I might have went overboard with this, but he’s one of my favorite characters! Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Mornings in the Avidya Forest were always a sight to see, and Tighnari never got tired of the ambiance that surrounded the village. The rays of the sun that peered through the leaves and the smell of damp soil considering that it rained the day before, were some of the things he appreciated the most. Letting out a soft sigh, the Forest Watcher walked towards the rendezvous point of the forest rangers to deliver their tasks.
“Today is going to be a bit hectic, but I expect that you all know how to handle your missions. Nasrin, Shirin, I’ll be stationing you near the falls below Sumeru City. There had been reports of an increase in aggressive fungi in the area, so it would be best to reduce the number and report the possible reason for such occurrence. As for—“ Tighnari continued to distribute the tasks for the day with a casual reminder such as withering zone and poisonous plants in particular areas.
Although the Irminsul had been healed thanks to the Traveler, there had been a few ones left above ground. Tighnari proposed that it must have been due to leftover elemental traces from where the roots dissipated. It was backed up by your research on those areas and previous observations when the tree was still sick.
After deploying the rangers, he turned to the group he will be working with which consisted of you and Collei. The green-haired trainee shuffled uneasily, bearing a wryly smile while glancing at your sulking form. Tighnari raised an eyebrow at your behavior before flicking your forehead.
“Care to tell me why you’re slouching like an old man on the ground, (Y/N)?” He inquired. You rubbed the pain away but did not answer him right away, opting to mumble your answer after the short silence. An irk mark appeared on his forehead.
“Stop mumbling like a child, you lummox.” He countered.
“It’s something personal, don’t worry. I’ll try not to let it distract me. Anyways, where are we heading today?” You diverged, a silent plea to save the topic for another time.
The fennec fox sighed before taking out his map. He had an inkling that it had something to do with your relationship, but it was not his business to mind if you were not willing to divulge it. Shaking his head, he pointed at the areas near Vimara Village and Molding Cavern. He informed you of the problems with irrigation experienced by the farmers as well as the lack of adequate sanitary water in the village. You hummed in thought, already noting the possible sources of the problem.
“There might have been problems with the pipe, and a piece of equipment must be malfunctioning inside the treatment facility. Let me just get Kaveh’s design and cross-check it with mine. We can head in a few. By the way, are we going to scout for withering zones today too? I remember Collei mentioning that there had been two zones eliminated near Apam Woods recently.” You voiced while writing notes on your pad.
Collei walked towards the map and pointed out that it would be good to check out the road leading to Caravan Ribat. The mere mention of the place made you flinch which did not go unnoticed by Tighnari. He sighed internally, his theory confirmed why you were sulky earlier.
“We can go check it out. Collei, don’t forget to bring your rations as well as your weapon. Also, bring a first aid kit before you go. Let’s meet back here in 15.” He ordered. You two nodded, returning to your respective homes to prepare for the trip.
The house you resided in Gandharva Ville was not that fancy. You did decorate it to make it cozy, a place where one can relax and forget about work. However, right now, it felt a little colder than before with how it was barely lived in. Your lover had not been around for a month now, and although you understand how busy he was with his work, it still made you feel lonely. The last date you had did not result well too. Cyno was immediately pulled back to his work, interrupting the small lunch date you two prepared.
‘I miss him so much.’ You thought, feeling your heart sting at the loneliness. You did not want to appear like a clingy girlfriend, but for once, the desire to be selfish bubbled in your stomach.
Letting out a disappointed sigh, you went to your vanity in search of Kaveh’s anecdotes on the treatment facility you designed with the Kshahrewar graduate. You also grabbed the pipeline design for the irrigation system. After doing a cross-check where the anomalies could have occurred, you bolted out of your house to meet up with the others.
The trips to Molding Cavern and Vimara Village were quite entertaining. You were able to figure out the problems with the pipelines, mostly the fact that they needed replacement. Tighnari also commented about the fertilizers the farmers could use for the next season, while Collei helped out with simple tasks in the village. Such a sweet thing, truly. As for the treatment facility, the problem laid with the filtration system which needed some internal adjustments and a few cleaning inside. You told the maintenance engineer stationed there to immediately contact the Akademiya for new resources. It should be done within the day.
“That should do it. Tighnari, Collei, I think I’m good here. I’ll make a report later on this and send it to the Acting Grand Sage. How about you two?” You inquired. Tighnari had just finished listing new techniques the farmers could utilize with their crops and storage. He also gave told them to contact the ranger should there be any problem in the future before giving you the okay sign.
“I am also done here, Miss (Y/N)! Should we have lunch in Pardis Dhyai before we go to Apam Woods?” Collei suggested. The mere mention of lunch had your stomach growling. Sheepishly, you have her a nod. She giggled and informed her master that they will be having lunch at the research facility.
The trip to Pardis Dhyai focused on Collei’s training. You left the two on their own since it looked like the trainee was about to have her exam soon. The Forest Watcher’s exam was notorious for its difficulty, but you believed that Tighnari made it that way so that it was drilled within each ranger the information on fauna and flora they needed to maintain the balance of the ecosystem and for their safety as well. However, leaving them to their devices meant that your mind would now drift back to Cyno.
‘I wonder if he’s taking care of himself properly? He’s not that reckless. Cyno is smart, but… I wish he had sent a letter to me about his whereabouts or situation. I would have compromised and— The audacity.’ You internally grumbled.
Tighnari would often glance your way and note how lost you were in your thoughts. He had also not heard from Cyno, so if that were the case for him, he could not even imagine how it was for you. That lummox clearly needed a huge wake-up call. Worrying his significant other like this was not right.
After you three reached the research facility and taken lunch, it was time to head to the woods. Collei noted the mushrooms and flowers present in the area, and you would constantly comment on plants she would find interesting. You also told her about the unique phenomenon in the area where the water would rise and drop depending on the time. If you remembered correctly, you overheard Tighnari and the Traveler talk about the contraption that caused this. It was truly fascinating, and you promised to check that one out.
“Hmm? What fools! Are they really diving in without even a vision on that Withering Zone!?” Tighnari growled. You three rushed towards the figures fighting the fungi in the zone. The side effects were already present with their movements, and if they maintain this pace, they might as well say farewell to the Lesser Lord.
“Let’s nip it in the bud!” Tighnari unleashed a barrage of dendro-infused arrows that targeted the largest fungi. Collei threw Cuilein-Anbar creating a field of dendro. You, on the other hand, took out your sword and infused it with dendro and began slashing at the buds. The fight ended well, but you noted that it could have been faster with elemental reactions.
Tighnari and Collei tended to the injured individuals. Their uniforms bore the insignia of the Corps of Thirty, but considering their battling experience, they must have been beginners. You told the Forest Watcher that you will be going to Caravan Ribat to ask for backup and carry them to safety.
“Thanks! Be careful on the way, (Y/N)!” He shouted.
With that, you raced to your destination. It was not that far and took about half an hour. Some Eremites waiting to hijack merchant carriages, so you took care of them as well. Once you reached the desert branch of the organization, you froze in place. There was your boyfriend talking with the person in charge of the office and beside him was Nilou. Seeing the dust in there clothes, they must have just returned from the desert.
‘Oh… so that’s how it is.’ You stepped in and showed your badge to the soldier stationed at the entrance. It proved your status as the Overseer, a position given by the Lesser Lord and Acting Grand Sage to act as a diplomat around Sumeru and report the status of progress in different areas. In return, compensations such as research budget, travel expenses, and access to sensitive information were at your disposal. It was a tough position to get, and the approval of an Archon was of utmost necessary.
“Pardon the interruption, you are Karim, right? I’m here to report about your men trying to expel a Withering Zone not far from here. They are in immediate need of medical care, so I suggest ordering your men to retrieve them. Forest Watcher Tighnari and his assistant await you there, so first aid is already given. Also, I’ll be reporting this mishap to the higher-ups. General Mahamatra, I hope you’re also doing your part in warning those strangers to danger. I’ll see you there then.” You coldly voiced. Before any of them could speak, you left the area. Cyno was flabbergasted by your attitude, suddenly fearing that he had done something wrong. Your words stung his pride, but his heart was mostly pained by your piercing gaze.
“Karim, immediately do as the Overseer’s orders. I’ll deal with matters here. There should be some soldiers here that you could lend to fend off the Eremites near Aaru Village. Miss Nilou, I also suggest you don’t get lost in the desert again. Mister Zubayr almost ripped the ear of one of the matras in Sumeru City.” Cyno pointed. Nilou apologized once again before asking if everything was all right after the cold tone he received from you.
It was no secret that there was something between the Overseer and the General Mahamatra as he would often accompany you to rendezvous places of the Akademiya’s transactions.
“I’m…not exactly sure. But I’ll deal with it somehow. Well then.” He left them in a hurry to try and catch up to you.
It was irrational and stupid, really. You should have just pulled him to the side and asked him why he did not send you any letter, but a month without contact made you extremely lonely and insecure. The jealousy in your heart whispered unwanted thoughts. Nilou was beautiful and kind, and it would be a surprise if he suddenly liked her. Although you know he was not the type to cheat, your belief that humans can easily change heart was also there.
“I need a break from this.” You whispered to yourself. The dendro vision beside you faintly glowed, responding to your haywire emotions.
When you returned, you told Tighnari that you will be going to Sumeru City and will not be able to go back with them to Gandharva Ville. He noticed the anger in your eyes and wanted to ask what happened, but there were tears already prickling your eyes. He patted your head and wiped the tears.
“You can go, (Y/N). Just don’t be reckless, and find a way to calm down. You don’t want to end up like those lummoxes we deal with everyday, right?” He teased. You were grateful for his perceptiveness. He knew when to leave you alone, and when to give advice. He was the greatest friend you could have.
“I will. See you two later.”
Ten minutes later, Cyno came rushing. He spotted Tighnari, Collei, and the soldiers dispatched to collect their comrades. However, there was no silhouette of you, which made him frantic. This was not evident to the others, but for the Forest Watcher who had been his friend for long, he knew that he was looking for you.
“Cyno, you dolt!” Tighnari called out. Cyno glanced in his direction and trotted over to him. He asked where you went, and he was received with a glare.
“She’s off to Sumeru. Do you know what you’ve done?” The Forest Watcher inquired. Cyno looked down, feeling guilty that he could not pinpoint the source of your possible anger.
Tighnari pinched the bridge of his nose and placed his index finger on the mahamatra’s chest. Cyno was not the best at expressing himself, much less understanding how a woman’s mind worked. He gladly pointed out his mistakes.
“Your partner was left alone in my care, and even I had no idea where you went to. Imagine how worried and insecure she must have been. Stop letting her compromise every time, Cyno, or she’ll slip away from you. You love her so much that you don’t want them to go, right?” Tighnari asked. He nodded, feeling more determined to explain himself to you and his friend.
“It was an urgent mission from them, and I could not send an immediate letter to you and her. Before I knew it, there was no way to get a messenger bird to send my letters. I’ll make things right again. Thank you, Tighnari.” Cyno uttered. He was about to go when Tighnari advised him not to make you cry again or he will answer to his fist.
You wanted to get away from everything swiftly, so without thinking, you activated the waypoint in Apam Woods and transported yourself outside Sumeru City. It was not common knowledge that these artifacts could teleport people, and after learning from the Traveler its mechanism, you opted to ask the Lesser Lord for permission to tinker with it. It was only now that you were able to fully use it. It was dangerous as it failed back then, but you thanked your luck that you did not end up teleporting with a half-body.
“I hate this feeling. The audacity not to send me a letter! Ludicrous! I’ll drag Alhaitham’s ass to spar with me.” You thought out loud.
Reaching the Akademiya, you met up with the Lesser Lord and Acting Grand Sage who just finished discussing foreign exchanges in Liyue and Fontaine. The Dendro Archon welcomed you warmly, and you returned it kindly. You reported your findings in the Avidya Forest and Apam Woods as well as the current progress in rebuilding a second institution in the desert. There was a possibility of its construction next year, but the acquisition of land must be completed first.
“Thank you for your hard work, (Y/N). I take it that you wish to speak with the Acting Grand Sage personally?” Nahida urged. Alhaitham raised an eyebrow at such thoughts before you confirmed it. With a small thanks, you dragged the gray-haired sage to the training grounds.
“Can you explain why you’re dragging me here when I’m not even done with my papers for the day, (Y/N)?” He asked, slightly exasperated at the sudden situation he found himself in.
“Indulge me for a little bit, Haitham. I’m a bit irritated with my lover and if I don’t let out steam, I’ll hurt somebody.” You confessed. Alhaitham’s eyes widened by a fraction before giving in. He did not know you had a lover already, whoever this bastard was, he will need to schedule a talk with them. He took out his sword and parried your attack.
Your spar could be described as a wild dance in the meadow if one were to be poetic. The sparks and flare of dendro energy attracted the bystanders. It was rare to see the Overseer and Acting Grand Sage engaged in a battle. You paid them no mind and dashed towards his right for a jab, but he deflected it before giving a roundhouse kick. It hit your stomach, causing you to skid to the ground but you held your ground and stood up panting. He activated his chisel-light mirrors, and directed them toward you. Barely missing his attacks, you swiped your foot but he jumped up. A smirk made its way to your face as you activated your skill and teleported behind him for a kick. He barely caught himself and dropped to the ground.
“So you finally gained control of that. Not bad.” He commented. You gave him a smile that was wiped off the moment he used his own. Alhaitham knew how to utilize his mirrors and vision to transport in various points. It often infuriated you, but greatly respected him for his mastery over sword and vision.
“This is over.” He whispered behind you. Before you could defend yourself, a barrage of dendro swords pierced you to the ground. The nick to your right cheek and neck ended the spar.
Alhaitham dispersed his skill and helped you up. Dusting yourself, you thanked him and sat down on the bench exhausted.
“That’s my 63rd win. Glad that you could keep up with your vision now. It still needs a bit of working especially if you wish to utilize your ability with elemental reactions.” Alhaitham was calculating in his mind again, making you sigh. When you glanced behind, the number of bystanders watching surprised you, so you told them to go back to their work. They immediately dispersed, but there will be talks about it for sure.
“I’ll get us some drinks. In the meantime, finish some of the reports you pulled me away from. I sent you the details. I’ll be back in a few.” He voiced. You gave him thanks before activating your pseudo-Akasha system. Lesser Lord Kusanali permitted you two to your own system after she checked it for herself. It was not harmful, and it was less powerful than the original. Nonetheless, she marveled at how you two were able to devise a copy yet also an original of it.
“Let’s see…. Yuck, he does things like this?”
Cyno reached Sumeru City after two hours of travel by foot. He was exhausted, but explaining his circumstances to you was more than necessary. When he passed by the entrance, he heard some students gossip about a battle between the Overseer and Acting Grand Sage. There was no bad blood between you and Alhaitham, it was mostly between them. So he was surprised to hear that you two clashed against each other. They might also be exaggerating things, so he wished to see things for himself.
Upon entering the Akademiya, he asked the officer in House of Daena if you were at the Grand Sage’s Office. She told him that she spotted you and Alhaitham going to his old office when he was still the Scribe. It had already been an hour, so she was not sure if you were still there. It did not bode well with Cyno that you were spending too much time with the lunatic scholar.
“Hmm, not bad. You’re getting good at this.” He heard from behind, followed by a tired grunt. Cyno was now nervous. It was the first time he experienced this, and somewhere inside him, there was doubt sprouting in his mind. Were you cheating on him while he was gone? That made him angry.
Without much of a knock, he slammed the door open. The sudden noise made you jump out of your chair, while the gray-haired sage lazily looked behind. The General Mahamatra stood by the entrance, fury swirling in his eyes.
“Found you.” He coldly said. Without much of an ounce, he tightly pulled you by the wrist.
“C-Cyno!?” You grunted in pain. Alhaitham swiftly grabbed the general’s hand, inquiring what he wanted.
“That’s none of your business, Acting Grand Sage. I suggest you keep your silence, or I will not be able to hold myself back.” He threatened. Alhaitham sneered, snatching your arm from your lover.
“It’s my business when you’re dragging my assistant out of my office when she’s not yet done with her work.” He mused, a strange cold look present in his unique eyes.
“If I recall, this is no longer your office, Alhaitham. It’s the one above, so might I ask what you’re doing with my lover? I should also be asking you the same, (Y/N). Did you enjoy toying with two men?” He accused. It made you look up, while Alhaitham’s eyes widened at the revelation. You were stunned to speak. He could not be serious.
“Are you… accusing me of cheating, Cyno? Is that how low you think of me? Wait, you’re the one I should be accusing! For a whole month, General Mahamatra, you did not send me a letter of your whereabouts! Tighnari had to remind me that you were all right, that you’ll be back. Then, I see you there with Nilou. How do you think that made me feel!?” You cried out.
“I-It’s not that! I just—“ The painful throb of your heart was difficult to control, and the tears you hid earlier finally slipped. Cyno’s eyes widened at the sight. It was the first time he saw you cry, and it was because of him.
“There’s no harm in Alhaitham knowing, but I was out for a month doing a mission for the temple. It was one they urgently gave to me through the Akademiya. I could not send a letter because before I knew it, I was already up and chasing the perpetrator who dared to sneak inside one of the ruins in Hadramaveth. As for Nilou, I was informed that the leader of Zubayr Theater had been looking for her, and one of the city matras asked me to be on the lookout for the dancer. I found her by the oasis with the excuse of finding inspiration for their next show. How about you? What were you doing with this man earlier?” Cyno explained, pained about the noises he heard outside.
Alhaitham put the pieces together and sighed. You forgot to tell them an important piece of your relationship with people. He stepped in.
“(Y/N) is my cousin, Cyno. No, this is not nepotism. The Lesser Lord approve of her position, and she made it here herself. The noises you heard must have been her groaning about her punishment, which was basically doing my work since she interrupted my work schedule. She would often do it when her workload is lesser than mine. So, there is no need to worry.” There was silence between you two. You blinked the tears away and glanced back up.
“Did I not mention that Alhaitham was my cousin?” You obliviously asked. Cyno gave you a strange look before exiting the room with a slight bow. The tips of his ears were red, and you knew you made a blunder.
With a quick apology and promise to your cousin that you will finish his work later, you exited the room and chased after your lover. Alhaitham huffed, walking out of his office and back to the Grand Sage’s room. Nahida welcomed him back.
“I presume everything went well with those two?” She mused. Alhaitham scoffed.
“It was natural. They need to communicate properly.” He simply said, taking another paper before signing those that were not in your care. The Dendro Archon simply smiled. She knew that Alhaitham cared for you in his own way. The way you were sulky and lethargic the past few days set him off.
As for you two, you were able to pull back the General who could not look you in the eye. The tight lock of your hands said otherwise about his feelings though. You squeezed back and offered that you two go home for today. He wanted to protest that he was still on duty, but you informed him that you told Alhaitham that you two will take the rest of the day to talk.
Cyno nodded, opting to follow you back to your home. He wished to relish in your presence and also apologize once again for leaving you alone.
Once you got home, you sat him down on the couch, while you prepared tea for you two to drink. Cyno watched you move around, missing the coziness of your home. However, he missed you more, so without hesitation, he came from behind you and hugged you.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have doubted you, and I should have sent a letter even a short one. I could never betray your trust, not with any woman. So please forgive me.” He mumbled. You turned off the stove and held his face in your hands. You could see how devastated he looked, as out of character that may be for the stoic General that he was.
“I’m also at fault for not communicating properly and jumping to conclusions. I love you, Cyno.” You kissed his lips. Even with chap lips, the warmth from him was enough to assure you that he was yours.
“I love you too.”
That afternoon was dedicated to you two making up for the lost time, taking notes on how to communicate properly, and how to assure each other when in doubt. You even decided on a 3-day vacation to spend time with each other, one which you two will need to prepare. Without you noticing, Cyno simply watched you with fond eyes. He could not be any more grateful than he is now to have you as his partner.

BONUS:
Cuddling on the couch made your heart flutter, and Cyno peppered your face and neck with kisses. He was careful with the cuts you got from your spar which you explained to him. Love swelled in your heart, and with another smile, you lifted his face and kissed him on the lips. His desire to further feel you overrode his senses, and before you knew it, you were already straddling his hips.
Hands roamed around your body, each touch leaving a hot trail that made you want more. Placing his right hand on your hair, he deepened the kiss, tongue dancing against each other, exploring the cavern of your mouth. You moaned at his aggressive touch.
“C-Cyno—“
“Shhh, let me fill you up tonight, Love. A month’s worth should be enough to quell the space I left. Plus, I’m a jealous person, you should be punished rightfully.” He whispered right next to you, hot breath caressing the shell of your ear. It made you squirm and rub on his groin, eliciting a growl from him. Suddenly, he gripped your hips in place, letting his other hand slither down your shorts.
“Only mine.”
Maybe Alhaitham will have to wait until tomorrow for those papers to get back to his office.

Ding!
Lucy pulled the tray of cookies out from the oven and carefully inspected them before setting them on the cooling rack and preparing a container for them. She then averted her attention towards the egg fried rice in the pan, stirred it briefly, and added the chives that she had previously cut. The tocino was sizzling in a nearby pan and the soup boiling in another pot. Just as she was about to feed her pets and water her plants in the short interlude of preparing breakfast and packaging ngroad trip snacks, two arms encircled her waist from behind and she felt something something tickle the shell of her ear.
“Happy Birthday baby,ˮ he chuckled with deep morning voice that sent a shiver down Lucyʼs spine. She turned around and placed her hands on his hard, bare chest as he kissed the top of her head. Their lips met sweetly... there was something so addicting about kissing Bradley Bradshaw. Lucy couldnʼt put a finger on whether it was his mustache or that perhaps he had a lot of practice... whatever it was, Bradley always knew how to love her right.
“Okay new rule,ˮ he spoke. “No getting out of bed unless you have cuddled me for at least ten minutes.ˮ
“Is that so?ˮ Lucy cocked a brow.
“Yes,ˮ Bradley said seriously. “10 minutes. No more and no less.ˮ
“Youʼre silly...ˮ she laughed. “And just where did your shirt go?ˮ
“Hey, do you have any idea how stressful for me it is to wake up and my Angel isnʼt beside me?ˮ
Lucy laughed.
“And I donʼt think the latter question is relevant because clearly, youʼre enjoying yourself right now.ˮ
She giggled, tracing the outline of his abs and his chest — broad and firm and warm. Lucy hummed placing her head against his chest with a lazy smile.
“All mine,ˮ she giggled.
“Thatʼs right, Angel.ˮ
They stayed that way for a little while, his arms around her and his nose in her hair. Bradley cupped her cheek and tilted her chin to meet her eyes.
“You feel alright, baby?ˮ He whispered.
“Of course I do,ˮ she whispered back. “Itʼs my birthday and thereʼs a Greek god of a man standing in my kitchen with his shirt off.ˮ
He laughed and let his thumb graze her cheek. The tear tracks had gone and her eyes sparkled with love in the morning light that seeped from the shutters. He kissed her hands softly and held them in his large palms.
“Love your nails,ˮ he remarked softly. Lucy smiled at them. They were almond shaped in a pearl french chrome with little gold and silver embellishments that mimicked stars and flowers.
“I almost didnʼt get them done if it werenʼt for Phoenix,ˮ she replied.
“Why?ˮ
Lucy paused. She could hear Phoenixʼs words ringing in her periphery.
“...But... donʼt make him feel that youʼre pushing him away, okay? He hates that.“
“I... uh,ˮ Lucy began. “T-Thereʼs this guy at work that made me feel that the only reason I was up for this promotion Iʼm in the running for...was because Iʼm receiving special treatment for being the only g-girl on the team.ˮ
Bradley was mildly surprised when Lucy confided this to him. Usually, she would put it off until he asked again... or later in the day when they lay with each other on her purple couch or on her bed.
“Any chance,ˮ he whispered. “That I may... know his charming gentlemanʼs name?ˮ
“And why would I let you?ˮ
“Maybe I can pay him a little visit?ˮ Bradley smiled. “Show him a little appreciation?ˮ
“Bradley,ˮ Lucy laughed.
“What?ˮ He replied innocently. “Canʼt I?ˮ
“Not with that look in your eye,ˮ she smiled. “Heʼs not worth it... Besides, weʼve got more important things to attend to— like breakfast.ˮ
“Right,ˮ Bradley conceded. “How dare I deprive my Angel of morning sustenance?ˮ
Lucy giggled as Bradley pressed a passionate kiss to her lips. In the heat of the moment, he lifted her on the counter and let his hands rest on the sides of her neck. As their lips moved, Lucy could feel his hardening length graze her thigh which in turn sent pleasurable scintillations straight to her core. They separated shortly, lips flushed and cheeks bright red. Lucy ran a hand through his locks affectionately and Bradley took her hand and lifted it to his lips.
Bradley and Lucy were four hours and 12 minutes away from San Diego in his Bronco, singing to ‘My Girlʼ by The Temptations. Lucy was feeding Bradley bites of the chocolate chip cookies she had baked earlier and from time to time, Bradley would playfully nip at her fingers with a wink.
“Hey Angel,ˮ he called to her over the hum of the music.
“Yes?ˮ
“I wouldnʼt mind, you know,ˮ he began. “If we slept in different rooms at the hotel. Iʼve already—“
“Itʼs fine Bradley,ˮ she assured with tinted cheeks. “Besides... I canʼt really sleep as well without you anyway... not anymore.ˮ
Bradley looked over at Lucy, her shaded eyes set straight on the road, mumbling the lyrics, dancing in her seat, and occasionally sipping at her iced macchiato. He reached over to hold her hand in his and she smiled at him as he drew circles at the back of her hand. Later that night in Monterey, Bradley would sleep shirtless again and have Lucy tucked into his arms.
The aquarium wasnʼt opening until 10:30 in the morning, and as per agreement, Lucy remained beside Bradley even as he slumbered on — deciding that the pair of them needed a cozy lie-in from the tiresome drive from San Diego. Lucy ascertained in this moment that she loved watching Bradley sleep more than anything. She loved his honeyed strands and his perfect lips that were slightly ajar. She envied the length of his lashes and the tone of his body. She adored how one arm seemed to be always perched around her even in an unconscious state — she always felt as if she was being protected and no harm could reach whenever she was in his proximity. Without breaking his grasp, she reached for the telephone at her bedside and dialed for breakfast.
She had corresponded with the menu yesternight and previously recalled Bradleyʼs flavor preferences. He had been staying over very often for longer periods of time, not that Lucy minded, but it meant accommodating what he liked to eat. She was thrilled to finally buy spiced Pinakurat vinegar from the Asian store and really having to use it because Bradley enjoyed spicy and sour profiles. In addition, as much as she prefers to pay for the groceries since Bradley had been covering the expense of nearly every one of their dates, he liked to help with that too. It was a good thing that Bradley could barely cook — otherwise Lucy couldnʼt express affection through food. Cooking and food, she recently realized, is her love language.
“Hi,ˮ she uttered softly into phone. “Weʼre at room 309 and weʼd like to order breakfast…”
“Great,ˮ Lucy smiled. “So...ˮ
Bradley cracked one eye open at the quiet commotion. He yawned, feeling Lucy squirm slightly in his arm. It took a while for his ears to begin registering her whispers or for his mind to realize that it was already morning. Bradley whined softly, burying his nose in Lucyʼs locks — breathing in the sweet, vanilla notes in her scent.
“Can I have an English Breakfast please?... Yes... with everything on it... do you mind adding something spicy in it?... yes smoked ketchup and hot sauce would be great, thank you...ˮ
Bradley smiled, beginning to trail kisses from her neck and exposed shoulder. Lucy raised a hand to caress his curls.
“The crepe would be nice... and can you go ahead and add an Americano and a sweetened Earl Grey with some milk, please?... Thank you, Anna...ˮ
Lucy put down the receiver carefully before turning to face Bradley, smiling up at him.
“Good morning,ˮ he rasped.
“Hello,ˮ she chuckled. “Did you sleep well?ˮ
“Mmmhhh,ˮ he sighed, kissing her forehead and holding her close.
Lucy kissed his neck and nipped his collarbones affectionately. Bradley moaned when she began to lick the skin. Using the reserved strength in his arms he lifted Lucy effortlessly on top of him, straddling his waist. She bent down to catch his hungry lips and their lips were set ablaze in a fiery passion. Lucy didnʼt even realize when she started to move her hips against his until she felt his erection through his boxers. When she gasped at the feeling, Bradley slipped his tongue deeper into her mouth. Lucy felt a tingling sensation in her core that she couldnʼt ignore and it left her breathless... Bradley felt the atmosphere between them become warmer and warmer. He swore that he was gonna cum in his boxers just looking at her flushed expression and listening to her delicate whimpers — thatʼs when Lucy experienced a violent and a pleasurable convulsion that interrupted the very equilibrium of her body. She moaned loudly before resting against Bradleyʼs chest, heaving and slicked in sweat.
“Angel...ˮ Bradley called to her. “Did you just... Baby?ˮ
Lucy was hiding her face in his hands on Bradleyʼs chest. He sat up, Lucy still straddling his waist. He pried the fingers that cupped her pretty face before kissing her pink cheeks.
“Whatʼs wrong, Angel?ˮ He whispered. “Was that... was that your first time?ˮ
“Iʼve done it with my fingers before,ˮ she whispered back. “But never... never that h-hard.ˮ
Bradley smiled, tucking the stray hairs from her face behind her ear. “Iʼm a v-virgin...ˮ
“Thereʼs nothing wrong with that,ˮ he replied gently.
“Iʼm n-not ready yet, Bradley... for y-you know...ˮ
“And thatʼs completely okay, Angel.ˮ He assured her, kissing her hands. “Weʼll take it slow... and with only what youʼre comfortable with... I promise.ˮ
Lucy smiled, kissing the bridge of his nose sweetly. Eventually a knock on the door announced their breakfast, and they enjoyed it together with Lucy on Bradleyʼs lap. They exchanged bites of each otherʼs breakfast, and Bradley found it quite amusing whenever he fed her something even mildly spicy.
“How do you even enjoy this?ˮ Lucy breathed deeply, the tip of her tongue slipping from her lips. “This isnʼt flavor, itʼs pain! This isnʼt funny, Bradley!ˮ
Bradley continue to laugh, kissing her cheek as he spooned some of the cream for her Earl Grey and let her sip some to ease the burn in her mouth.
“Woah,ˮ Lucyʼs eyes sparkled. The Kelp Forest exhibit of the Monterey Bay Aquarium was even more amazing than she had ever imagined. How shards of sunlight streamed through the water and refracted against the vibrant yellows and greens of the kelp, which swayed delicately against the artificial current. The exhibit towers at 28 feet tall with four window panels outlined in black, positioned like one side of an octagon. The design feels like itʼs maximizing the ambience of the forest — as if emulating one of its inhabitants perspective in the eyes of one who behold it. Lucy rushed up against the glass, mouth ajar and eyes wide like a child seeing a magic show for the first time. There goes a leopard shark! Oohh, some otters! Behold, a wolf eel! Bradley followed her, his hands in his pockets as he came up behind her.
“Like it?ˮ He chuckled.
“Like it?ˮ She looked at him as if he had grown a second head. “Bradley, I love it! Did you know that this is the first exhibit that successfully propagated a living kelp forest?ˮ
“No I did not,ˮ he mused.
“Do you have any idea how difficult it must be to keep this alive?ˮ She breathed deeply. “This right here is at least 300,000 gallons. There must be a wave machine that mimics the ocean surges to keep it healthy. Iʼm not even gonna begin to get into daily maintenance — pruning, checking water quality, population control...ˮ
Bradley let Lucy ramble on and on... staring at the way her eyes were lit up and the cute wrinkle in her brow. One of things that he first noticed about his Lucy was her passion as a marine biologist — and being in one of the best aquariums in all the worldʼs aquariums certainly lit a fire under her.
“...This Bradley,ˮ she said with a sigh. “Is one of the most important ecosystems in our ocean — if not the most. Itʼs a shame weʼre losing them because they contribute so much. Theyʼre homes to so many species, they protect coastlines, they play a role in carbon sequestration — which is important to climate change mind you...ˮ
Bradley and Lucy left the exhibit 90 minutes later, after Lucy had fan-girled and stated at least one fact for every single creature they encountered. They concluded their time at the Kelp Forest exhibition after Lucy took one last photo with a wandering California sheep-head. Lucy held on to Bradleyʼs arm the entire time, passing by the exhibits on the way to the new ‘Into The Deepʼ Exhibit that was on the far end of the aquarium.
They descended down a basement and each level going down represented a certain milestone of depth. Isopods, interesting-looking corals, long-legged crabs, and odd-faced fishes inhabited the sea floor. Ethereal, transparent jellies and similar creatures in the mid-waters — the in-between of the sunlit sea and dark underwater. In deep water — angler-fish, viperfish, big red jellies, octopuses, blob sculpins.
It was amazing to Bradley how Lucy explained everything to him in great detail without referring to a single provided infographic. Her knowledge on marine biology was both broad and comprehensive. She was so impressive that even fellow guests slowed down to listen in to her. She used jargon sparingly but effectively and listed many facts that were both interesting and relevant. She emphasized the important role of many sea creatures to the environment and how efforts of conservation are not in vain. Though Lucy was sincerely enthusiastic about all the sea creatures they encountered so far, she most impressed at the bloody belly comb jelly in the mid water region of the Into the Deep Exhibit.
“Bradley, look!ˮ She exclaimed, ogling at the comb jelly specimen. Its appearance amused Bradley. To him, its shape is akin to a neck pillow if it were more peculiarly shaped — with a more pointed apex and a more pronounced round bottoms. It floated peacefully in its dark enclosure, flitting around with the help of cilia, arranged in neat comb-like rows that surrounded the jellyfish. The jellyfish had a translucent body but a characteristic red belly. Pretty light illuminated the length of the creatureʼs body and reflected off of Lucyʼs bright eyes.
“This particular creature was first described by this Aquariumʼs very research institute and the first and only in the world to ever keep it in captivity,ˮ She said in one breath. “Itʼs so unique because unlike normal jellyfish it doesnʼt sting — it uses colloblasts (or the sticky cells on its tentacles) to seek out its prey. Researchers also think that having a red belly is their own form of defense mechanism because the color conceals the bioluminescence they ingest from their prey...ˮ
“It looks cute,ˮ Bradley smiled. “He looks happy.ˮ
“It does,ˮ Lucy replied. “Thatʼs one of the reasons Iʼm so drawn to this particular jelly. Iʼm gonna name this one... Crimson. Crimmy the Comb Jelly.ˮ
Bradley chuckled, kissing her forehead tenderly. A few fishes down, something caught Bradleyʼs eye. It looked a fairy, a sort of willʼ-o-the-wisp — something that appeared ethereal and wonderful. It had a transparent little body with a yellow core that appeared to glow bright from within. It had two little horns on the top of its head and a pair of small wings that beat forward and backward rhythmically. Bradley looked at its placard — Sea Angels. It was a type of snail, that instead of the mucosal feet that land snail had, they were adapted to have parapodia or wings instead. Though they may appear innocent, they are savage predators that can suck the life out of their preyʼs shell. Sea Angels, he repeated once more in his mind. Angel like Lucy.
From afar, Lucy was waving him down into the deep water region of the exhibition. When they had concluded their visit at the aquarium, they both left with a souvenir of their own— for Lucy, a holograph display of a floating blood belly comb jelly and for Bradley another holograph display of a swimming sea angel.
“Thank you for today Daddy,ˮ she whispered in his ear after they had piled into his Bronco. She took his hand and kissed his knuckles sweetly. “I really appreciate it.ˮ
“Birthday treat number one done and weʼre off to number two,ˮ he grinned, kissing her hand in return.
