Lilia is someone Bo runs into often, but strangely doesn't know much about. In the hallways, or the cafeteria... pretty much anywhere, really. They get along quite nicely for the most part- with Lilia's love for spooking people, Bo often finds himself tense around the guy earlier on, but eases up after making it clear he despises being snuck up on (see: burst into tears after getting jumpscared one too many times)

Bo tends to drop by random club meetings a lot which is where he properly gets to know these strangers. The Pop Music Club is one of his favorites, whether they're actually having a rare jam session or not. Although it's a group effort, Lilia is the one who encourages Bo to pick up music again and helps him relearn guitar as well as share his knowledge of random assorted instruments.

They also both tend to make a lot of "old person back pain" jokes, funnily enough. Not that Bo is aware that Lilia is, in fact, one of those fabled old people. Lilia will poke fun at him for it, also constantly pointing out if Bo has neglected wearing his braces or is slouching. He will not have this kiddo dealing with joint pain that hard if he can help it.

At the end of the day, they're on good terms, and Lilia is someone Bo could reliably turn to for advice on practically anything, or really just a good story. They're not particularly close, but definitely someone Bo would call a friend.

I think I get what’s going on with Dice and Henchman.

Dice is seen only giving Souls to Devil. He’s never seen talking to him much other than one compliment on his work. And then the other time they talk is about getting Cuphead’s soul. 

I think that he thinks that if he can get enough souls for Devil, he’ll fall in love with him. Soo, pretty much giving someone gifts to win their love.

But Henchman is seen doing more than that. It’s pretty obvious by now that Devil cares about him. Even though he doesn’t exactly go out Soul hunting. He’s just there for him when he needs him and he shows that he cares about him a lot. Even though he’s a sweet imp, Devil trusts him more than anyone. I wonder what Season 4 would be because I feel like the way season 3 played out, it wasn’t exactly the end of Dice’s misery once he realizes who the real number one is.

XVI The Tower -- Misery, distress, indigence, adversity, calamity, disgrace, deception, ruin. -This card, in particular, is seen as a predictor of unforeseen catastrophe. An interesting card to post on the longest night of the year. 👀 The tower itself comes from the game Cuphead from the dragon’s tower. The crown can be seen in earlier cards like The Emperor. Maybe it’s because I’m a deeply anxious person, but this was by far the easiest card for me to make.

The Devils I Know - Number 19

Welcome to “The Devils I Know!” For this spooky time of year, from now till Halloween, I’ll be counting down My Top 31 Depictions of the Devil, from movies, television, video games, and more! Today’s Devil is a “Cup” Above the Rest. Number 19 is…The Version from Cuphead!

“Cuphead,” I must confess, is not a game I’ve played, but I am familiar with it thanks to the power of YouTube. I’m not likely to play it anytime soon, mostly because…well…it’s deliberately designed to be harder than a diamond-studded crab shell, but I am nevertheless utterly in love with its sense of style. The game is fashioned to be similar to the cartoons of the 1930s, as made by Disney and ESPECIALLY by Fleischer Studios. It contains lots of gags and references to those cartoons, and the art style, music, colors and more are all meant to evoke the imagery and iconography of those old cartoons and all their weird, silly, sometimes downright freaky craziness.

In the original game, the Devil is the main villain, but he’s actually not that major a character onscreen: much more attention seems to be given to his right-hand man, King Dice. The Devil is the final boss, and the cause of all our misery, but he’s more akin to Sauron or Palpatine: the mastermind pulling the strings whom we face in our final confrontation. As a result, there’s really not much to say about the game Devil…but things are rather different in the animated series, released to Netflix. In “The Cuphead Show,” the Devil is once again the main antagonist, but this time he’s a MUCH richer and more prominent character. In fact, the roles (or rather “rolls”) between himself and King Dice are reversed: the Devil appears or is referenced in many episodes of the series, and so far King Dice has only appeared in two and never been referenced beyond them. Kind of ironic, really. The Devil in the animated series is voiced by Luke Millington-Drake. I know nothing about this actor at all, but DAMN I wish I did! The man has talent galore, and it’s all display in this series: his Devil is absolutely HILARIOUS, given the slapstick nature of the show, but he also brings some interesting edges to the character, making him entertaining but also rather interesting. He’s also got a killer singing voice, which really feels in the vein of the old-fashioned crooners of the time period this show is meant to emulate. While he’s far from the smartest or most threatening Devil ever depicted, the character is just a ton of fun to watch, and easily my favorite part of the TV series. If I were only judging the game version of the Devil for this ranking, the character probably would have been an Honorable Mention and nothing more. In the cartoon though, the Devil steals the show from top to bottom, and is more than deserving of a place in the Top 20.

I'm officially going to rank the cuphead bosses right now. Like, oh my god, they are almost impossible to totally rank, but I'll give it a try. I'll start from last so you all don't have to be spoiled XD

31. Hopus Pocus - I hate the design for the pink coming down and the circle if you don't have invisible dash on. Worst dodge.

30. Pirouletta- the attack various in speed and sometimes she pauses towards the end of her attack. I don't even think invisible dash works on her. And if you miss one of the chip platforms to jump over her, YOURE DONE! I've died on her too many times to say I'm a good gamer 😂😭😢🪦⚰️🤚

29. Esther Winchester - tied with the dragon (IMO) on it being so hard getting an S rank. Not just this, but the birds that fly by and small little green dudes can actually ruin any run you're doing. RNG on this boss is barely impossible with all 3 stages. You HAVE to get lucky with it being empty or you're really fast. Stage 2 killed me more than stage 3 did too. So, there you go.

28. Mangosteen - even though easy as heck and I really love catching a break here when the extra life lands on it.... I will never forgive how boring it is to beat this mini boss. Just, too easy and whenever you do lose a life on there, you always just want to reset because it can really tik you off.

27. Rumor Honeybottoms - If you were a beginner like me and you just defeated the dragon on isle 2, then you'll remember fondly coming to this boss, regretting you ever reaching the third phase (after an actually easy going first and second phase), and said "screw that" whenever you realized you needed lobber or chaser. This was a boss I waited to beat until even after Maria. Also, so many deaths and rage quits because the RNG on the second phase can make you hate that stage too. Though, I really love how the intensity went up each phase, so did the platforms. Oh wait, YHE PLATFORMS SUCK! Not to mention when you jump off stage at the top, if she recently did a move that floated to the top, you can still get hit. Like what the...

26. Talking about dragons (deez nuts across a chin LOL), Grim Matchstick - I enjoyed the game to a tee until this boss. This is the boss that made me have to go onto easy mode just to find out that you literally have to beat it on normal. And he was one of two I skipped (genie was the other one). I honestly respect and love this boss now, but I hate playing it. The first and second phases trick you into thinking this would be a nice way end on a good note... THEN THE FIRE BUBBLES! I think we all realized after the pain and suffering after a few hours, you couldn't use a spread shot, chaser, or even pea shooters as a beginner. Lobber or ring shot were the only ways to go. After the pain and misery, I can say this is one boss ill never revisit if I don't have to.

25. Captain Britney beard - NO, I did not have any fond time enjoying him. As embarrassing as this is, I actually spend 5 minutes in a row jumping up and down shooting the boats face at the last phase, not realizing the uvila was what you wanted to hit. I am talking about this phase because you know how many times I died here ducking and just saying "oh, the chest again.." yes, nothing you can do on one life and the chest smashes you under the laser. It was 4 months ago I learned you can parry the laser... 4 MONTHS AGO! I truly don't think this parry is easy to see. Other than that, I think the balls and shark and chest all together is bad RNG at times. One good thing I love about this boss though is you can get at least 4 supers in lol. Take that buddy!

My first and only attempt at defeating Grim Matchstick in Cuphead. Since it took literal days (this one day took 5-6 hours to win), I felt like posting it.

Random thought : trans dice... Dev finds out he's trans because for one week he gets extreamly emotional and bitchy, and he leaves /small red marks/ wherever he sits sometimes. Imagine devil's face if he finds out through that OML

I think he’d get a pad just so none of the blood would touch his precious suits tbh but oof what if he gets terrible cramping and nausea and when the Devil finds out he’s just -

So baffled by humans. But pain meds lessen it slightly so he’s just- the awkward boss semi hovering around seeing if Dice is back to 100% so the world can continue on regularly.
