➤ MISC. HEADCANONS [ ; ] TRAVERSE TOWN & LEON’S CONNECTION TO KING MICKEY ©
Another thing I wanted to elaborate on, was Leon’s time in Traverse Town along with all the events leading up to it. I do have a mish-mashed version for how he arrived in Radiant Garden — how originally, there was a fall of some sort within his world within VIII where he was then torn away & separated from those he knew, waking up in the strange new world on his own.
With no idea of where to start to try finding his way back to Balamb, Squall originally tried his best to get a general lay-out of his new surroundings, of how things worked & functioned in this place. *He felt no junctioning connection any of his Guardian Forces, a strange feeling considering he’d always made sure to keep them on hand in case of an emergency. *There was no connection to Rinoa that could be felt either, the initial emotions felt being a strong, near overwhelming isolating feeling of ‘lost’ — not unlike the one felt during his time trapped in Time Compression.
Days passed, eventually the time he’d spent just simply trying to stay a temporary visitor bled into something new. No new directions opened their way for him, nothing came up to give him anything worth looking into, & so, *he’d settled for making himself comfortable. At least until he knew more, it couldn’t hurt to take a break in his search — for a while things were quiet again. Peaceful even despite his restlessness, he’d managed to carve a small, comfortable space for himself. But it didn’t last long & soon enough, that same looming Darkness would begin to overtake Radiant Gardens, slowly this time, providing the man with just enough time to arm himself, gather what he could before he’d started trying to aid in rushed evacuation efforts with Highwind & the others. He’d done his best to hold off the initial hordes of Heartless, using his old experience of being a trained mercenary to his advantage, but he’s only human.
In his adrenaline fuelled state of panic, the former commander had gotten separated in his efforts to push back against the more dangerous of Heartless, unsurprisingly leading to an ambush, nearly being overwhelmed enough to lose his own heart before he’d been subsequently rescued amidst the chaos. During the fray, he’d gotten severely injured, though Cid was able to drag him onto the ship along with the others & from there, they’d soon find themselves within Traverse Town, where they’d then take refuge in the time that’d followed.
For the first while, around a little over a month, he was was bedridden & stuck recovering. During that time & admittedly with little other options, Squall’d started to connect more with Yuffie & Aerith. At first, he fought them heavily, stubborn in his want to leave, to be active enough since that same restlessness was back with a vengeance at yet another perceived failure in preventing a world from falling — another home. At being useless yet again. ( I’ll ramble properly about this more in another post, but this is around where he decides to change his name to *“Leon”, a simpler acknowledgement / last remaining tether to his lost past, while renouncing who he’d once been after all the loss & failure on his end. ) Despite his very vocal protests, the others kept him from leaving until he was fully healed.
When he did eventually heal enough to wander, he’d started to make sure things within Traverse Town were properly secure with what he’d learned during his last few attempts in fending off the Heartless, also taking time to note the sudden increase in newcomers who’d arrived just as they had. *More time passed as he learned to juggle between making sure their newfound haven would remain as safe as they could make it, that people were prepared, setting up regular guards to patrol & fight the odd Heartless that’d invade.
*To also making sure housing & supplies were carefully managed. He’d once again fallen back into old habits, the memories of the times he’d spent leading Balamb during the battle had against Ultimecia plagued him, but he found comfort in the fact he’d been able to help as he had using all his prior experience.
Eventually, with Cid’s approval, using the old & repaired Gummiship they’d arrived in, *Leon then leaves to perform research of his own into what happened. To how the worlds fell, what signals to look out for in advance, to how long they took so he knew how much time he had to evacuate. He also began to search tirelessly for ways to counter the Heartless, scouring for any hopeful ways to reverse the falling of a world. He’d started to travel around, between continuing his upkeep of Traverse Town, journeying to ones that were falling to follow Cid’s footsteps in helping to evacuate as many people to safety as he could.
*Its during one of those self assigned missions that he manages to bump into King Mickey, someone else looking into the sudden disappearance of the stars & ways to reverse whatever phenomena was happening. Over the span of their friendship, the pair had relayed what info they’d come across to one another, working together alongside the others up until Sora is introduced into the picture & things are officially kicked into high gear.
In summary, that’s my personal take on how Leon got to where he is in Kingdom Hearts, along with a bit of frantic connecting the dots on my messy lil corkboard to explain why he knows as much as he does & why he’s the guide character who mentors Sora in KH1. It just explains why he’s so passionate about trying to keep the Heartless problem under control, along with his name change, & his dedication to helping others.

Curiosity captured the image on June 20, 2025 — Sol 4575, or Martian day 4,575 of the Mars Science Laboratory mission — at 00:30:12 UTC. NASA/JPL-Caltech Written by Deborah Padgett, OPGS Task Lead at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory Earth planning date: Friday, June 20, 2025 During the plan covering Sols 4575-4576, Curiosity continued our investigation of mysterious boxwork structures on the shoulders of Mount Sharp. After a successful 56-meter drive (about 184 feet), Curiosity is now parked in a trough cutting through a highly fractured region covered by linear features thought to be evidence of groundwater flow in the distant past of Mars. With all six wheels firmly planted on solid ground, our rover is ready for contact science! Unfortunately, a repeat of the frost-detection experiment expected for the weekend plan is postponed for a few days due to a well-understood ChemCam issue. In the meantime, our atmospheric investigations have a chance to shine, as they received additional time to observe the Martian sky. In the early afternoon of Sol 4577, Curiosity’s navigation cameras will take a movie of the upper reaches of Aeolis Mons (Mount Sharp), hoping to see moving cloud shadows. This observation enables the team to calculate the altitude of clouds drifting over the peak. Next, Navcam will point straight up, to image cloud motion at the zenith and determine wind direction at their altitude. Mastcam will then do a series of small mosaics to study the rover workspace and features of the trough that Curiosity has entered. First is a 6×4 stereo mosaic of the workspace and the contact science targets “Copacabana” and “Copiapo.” The first target is a representative sample of the trough bedrock, and its name celebrates a town in Bolivia located on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The second target is a section of lighter-toned material, which may be associated with stripes or “veins” filling the many crosscutting fractures in the local stones. These are the deposits potentially left by groundwater intrusion long ago. The name “Copiapo” honors a silver mining city in the extremely dry Atacama desert of northern Chile. A second 6×3 Mastcam stereo mosaic will look at active cracks in the trough. Two additional 5×1 Mastcam stereo mosaics target “Ardamarca,” a ridge parallel to the trough walls, and a cliff exposing layers of rock at the base of “Mishe Mokwa” butte. At our current location, all the Curiosity target names are taken from the Uyuni geologic quadrangle named after the otherworldly lake bed and ephemeral lake high on the Bolivian altiplano, but the Mishe Mokwa butte is back in the Altadena quad, named for a popular hiking trail in the Santa Monica Mountains. After this lengthy science block, Curiosity will deploy its arm, brush the dust from Copacabana with the DRT, then image both it and Copiapo with the MAHLI microscopic imager. Overnight, APXS will determine the composition of these two targets. Early in the morning of Sol 4578, Mastcam will take large 27×5 and 18×3 stereo mosaics of different parts of the trough, using morning light to highlight the terrain shadows. Later in the day, Navcam will do a 360 sky survey, determining phase function across the entire sky. A 25-meter drive (about 82 feet) will follow, and the post-drive imaging includes both a 360-degree Navcam panorama of our new location and an image of the ground under the rover with MARDI in the evening twilight. The next sol is all atmospheric science, with an extensive set of afternoon suprahorizon movies and a dust-devil survey for Navcam, as well as a Mastcam dust opacity observation. The final set of observations in this plan happens on the morning of Sol 4580 with more Navcam suprahorizon and zenith movies to observe clouds, a Navcam dust opacity measurement across Gale Crater, and a last Mastcam tau. On Monday, we expect to plan another drive and hope to return to the frost-detection experiment soon as we explore the boxwork canyons of Mars. Wanted to do some headcannons for some versions of the Microsoft Speech Synths (And a few others) from a personal Universe of mine
A lot of these are heavily inspired by the various MS Sam reads funny errors series I enjoyed watching on YouTube long ago and my own verse in a way so I give credit to the various creators whom I have forgotten the names of.
I’ve also used Picrew to give you guys a visualization on what my verse version of these guys look like (I was originally going to go with stick figures with these guys early on but decided to update their designs)
NOTE: I DO NOT CLAIM OWNERSHIP OF THE PICREWS USED, THEY BELONG TO THEIR RESPECTIVE OWNERS AND WILL BE CREDITED AND LINKED BACK TO
I’ll make a part 2 to this later on
A brief overview: All of these characters mentioned are what we would call a Synth. Synthians are a race that are almost indistinguishable from humans save for a few key features such as their voice and eyes. They function almost identically to humans and other living beings but also have their own quirks and goofiness that I won’t be going into detail on this post (And also because the personal AU they come from is a mish-mosh of different universes and frequently says screw the rules of space and time)
Synths can be divided into two distinctive categories: Regular Synths (IE: Sam, Mike, Mary) and Vocal Synths (IE: Miku, Len, Luka) based on their vocal patterns
Samuel Andrew Microsoft (MS Sam)
(Picrew by krmr, https://picrew.me/ja/image_maker/523501)
The obnoxious and chaotic of one the Microsoft triplets
Can be a bit of a jerkass at times (yet unlike some of his other counterparts, this version is actually a pretty decent Synthian) but does actually care a lot for his close friends/family and will stand up for them should the need arise
Has a speech impediment which is what helped him gain fame/infamy? (It depends on who you ask)
Enjoys giving people he’s friends with a hard time. His favorite target is his brother Mike since he finds it amusing when he gets riled up.
After him and his siblings were “retired” (aka fired) from their job as computer assistances and went their own separate ways, Sam spent quite a while as a drifter looking for a purpose. He took various odd jobs here and there up until he got to where he is now and reunited with his siblings aboard the starship they are now members of the crew (Once again, more personal lore stuff but Sam is the First Officer)
Is strangely obsessed with tacos (Something else I snagged)
Rather skilled at using vehicles and weapons
Does not have a filter and will actively curse, unless it is around younger Synths/humans/other races or if it is a professional matter.
Does not like Vista (Another obvious thing I snagged). This also goes for a specific drink known as Vista Soda which is another running gag I have with him.
Micheal Oliver Microsoft (MS Mike)
(Picrew by マサキ, https://picrew.me/ja/image_maker/54346)
The smart and serious one of the the Microsoft triplets
Often the butt-end of a lot of his brother’s jokes since he’s known to get snappy and have a pitch shift when he gets annoyed/scared
Currently works as a doctor aboard the Starship Whistler (one of the very few Synthian docs in the universe since most of their kind tends to work in jobs relating to either entertainment or technology) and has gained fame for his research into various diseases of the universe and helping to develop cures for them
A very minor one but he wears glasses
Has a tendency to speak very literally and sarcastically. Also fond of using big words but will often slip into tendencies that his brother has (usually cursing) when off duty or alone in his office.
Utterly terrified Hachunes and Mikudayios (Common organisms on what many Synths consider to be the Synthian home-world (aka “Earth 2”) outside of Earth. They are kinda like pigeons or something similar (even though Earth 2 does have pigeons), many Regular Synthians do consider them pests though the can be tamed/befriended and are just as intelligent as a human.) As soon as he sees or hears one of those creatures he will either bolt or lock himself in his office/room. Same goes for the song Lleven Polka which is often used as a measure to attract wild Hachunes, Sam has used this as a few times.
Can get serious when the time calls for it. This usually occurs during medical emergencies.
Has an obsession with soda.
Almost always has some sort of supplies on hand at all times. This especially goes for if the need ever arises to defend himself. Mike is very knowledgeable about most sentient races anatomy and can easily incapacitate an attacker (or if they are lucky, a simple sedative jab to the neck)
Marybell Anne “Mary” Microsoft
(Picrew by マサキ, https://picrew.me/en/image_maker/167775)
The motherly and kind one of the trio
Mary is a lot calmer compared to her brothers. She’s not as easy to set off and will not pick on others
Prefers to stay away from Sam’s antics and is usually the one to scold him when Mike isn’t around.
She’s a really good cook and went to culinary school sometime after her and her sibling’s retirement.
Opened a diner back on Earth 2 sometime before she joined the Whistler, it is currently being managed by a good friends
Very protective of her recipes (She will smack you with a pan if you dare try to steal them)
It’s very rare that you will hear her curse at anyone, unless she is really upset
Fond of reading and also enjoys gardening
Grandpa SAM / Samuel Mack PlainTalk (S.A.M / Software Automatic Mouth)
Grandfather to the triplets, and the one who raised the trio
Personality-wise, he’s best described as an older version of MS Sam who has mellowed out.
A big dork and somewhat of a flirt
While he may be an older Synth who mainly likes to play poker, he’s still rather found of video games (Something that he shares with his grandkids)
Good friend with a few Vocal Synths (Namely Leon, Lola, Miriam, and Meiko whom he met before the latter hit it big in a small bar on Earth 2 (The former two who now run the place), and even introduced Sam to them)
While he usually just goes by Grandpa Sam, his full name is a nod to his other family. He’s considered the father of the Mac Family of Synths (Something that he keeps well hidden from his grandkids.)
Annabelle “Anna” Blackcomb (MS Anna)
Not related by blood to the Microsoft Trio.
Anna is described as rather reserved and a bit shy
Not a lot do her past is known other then the fact that she was the replacement for the Microsoft trio and was later quietly fired
She has a stutter (speech delay)
She’s quite skilled with a sword
The Microsoft Trio never met her up until they joined the Whistler and found her on an ice moon (This has some major lore stuff for a character I’m not ready to fully reveal)
The person she would consider that she is closest to outside of an old pin pal from years ago is Mike. He was the one who found her and the one who spent the most time trying to get her to open up and trust them

different anon from the 'writer rant' one but it did bring up a topic i find fascinating in fandoms like this re: copaganda and the like. prefacing this by saying that i in no way support cops or think this is a realistic way of portraying them. with that in mind, i feel like there's this common hang up in series like twc where the MC is some sort of law enforcement equivalent - whether its an actual cop or some ancient/medieval/future/alternate universe equivalent - people get frustrated when you aren't able to rebel against that enough. and this isn't just a twc thing either, i've seen the same kind of points made for all kinds of IF games. and like, i get the desire to and how most people would make their OC's decent enough people to recognize that kind of corruption for what it is, but if you're signing on to be a character that by default is in a law enforcement/adjacent position, and has some sense of pride in it, i'm not sure how the author is expected to properly account for that perspective that completely opposes all that.
like, in twc the MC almost always willingly signs on to the force, and even in the 'do it or go to jail' origin they still take pride in being able to help people now despite the circumstances of them joining up - any option to be extraordinarily wary of the agency or cops in general contradicts that unchangeable part of the MC's backstory and identity. and i get your point about mish/ka making an idealistic utopic version of things, but i don't really know what else is to be expected in a series that's effectively set up to be a supernatural crime romance? i don't want to make it sound like the frustrations/concerns are invalid because they're not at all! but i feel like by now the role law enforcement and the like plays in the detective's life is so established people have to suspend some of their beliefs about it to play a series that's always had a pretty pro-law enforcement concept/theme. idk if that makes any sense but thanks for letting me ramble
hey yeah no problem! my inbox is always open for rambling – i love to read it!
i see what you mean and i agree w you to some degree, but also, like i don't think it's a lot to ask of mis/hka to both be critical of c*ps in the story while also allowing the mc to be critical of them too. my criticism is less that this is c*paganda, because yes, any media that humanizes c*ps functions as that, but regardless of that, there should be some level of scrutiny from mis/hka's end.
the point i'm making is that mis/hka could've made ab*se of power an overarching theme connecting humans and supernaturals alike, by leaning into the idea that "c*ps are corrupt, and so is the agency – no matter if you're human or supernatural, any structure meant to protect the people is going to be corrupt because people naturally ab*se power" but she's not doing that. i highly doubt that she's playing the long con.
she's teasing the idea that the mc can have thoughts about hating their job and their position, can be afraid of supernaturals, can be reluctant to join the agency – so, if mc is allowed to do that, then what's the point? is it leading to anything? is the agency corrupt? are the c*ps corrupt? from mis/hka's asks, she insists that the agency are good people (and by default the c*ps too). so then, 'why even give us this road if it's not leading anywhere?' is my question
like regardless of if she wants us to read this as a utopia, it's not. if mc shoots a du mortain, it's just "more paperwork" – don't really spend too much time thinking about the fact that what mc perceives to be is a human was shot by them. just as example. mc can literally choose in b3 to wipe bobby's brain – a c*p actively silencing a journalist (whoa we haven't seen that anywhere have we!). not to mention the like military grade stun volts that agents can just have and use on people. (also the t*rture.) i could go on forever but you get what i mean
again, i really do get what you're trying to say, but saying "this is c*paganda, what do you expect" and shutting down all discussion about expectations of the series isn't really the best way to approach it imo. you can and should examine media past the surface level thought of "this is c*paganda" – yes, we know that. you should counter with, and here's why! and as for what i expect – nuance. i expect a nuanced approach.
#this isn't shade or meant to be mean or anything this is really just me being frustrated with m*shka !!#you just gave me the perfect outlet for my frustrations w the story#i feel like even mis/hka herself doesn't quite realize what she's already written is giving us alarm bells#like based on book 1 and 2 and 3 there are a million reasons i could name why c*ps and the agency are evil#but it's like she doesn't see that#asks#twc book 3#twc book 3 spoilers#twc spoilers#long post

Devil's Coach Horse Beetle - Ocypus olens
With a name like that, this Beetle has to be dangerous, right? Well, yes, but only if you happen to be one of the creatures on this hunter’s menu. And yes, I said Beetle, but that may be hard to believe at a first glance. If anything, this specimen looks like a more heavily built, dark Earwig that lost its cerci with an Ant-like head (with fearsome jaws to match). A mish-mash of the insects orders, and most devastatingly, it claims to be a Beetle yet it lacks armored elytra! Does it even have wings? Will it sting by arching its abdomen? Allow me to share what details I can. This unusual creature is in fact a Beetle, belonging to the family Staphylinidae, or Rove Beetles. The most well known “Rovers” share the elongated, unarmored, large-headed form that the Devil’s Coach Horse has. They aren’t flattened, but are able to wriggle into out of reach places and hide under rocks or fallen logs. Their primary means of travel are their legs, and they can sprint very quickly if they need to. Case in point, I have several Rover specimens to share, but many of the pictures are blurry. In terms of movement speed, think of common Ground Beetles, but not the sudden starting and stopping of Tiger Beetles. Ground Beetles might actually be the best point of comparison to Rove Beetles, as like them, Rovers case down other creatures and seize them in their front mandibles to have at them.
Aside from insects, worms, gastropods and anything else that’s small and soft is suitable. I was tempted at first glance to call them detritivores given where they tend to be found, but in reality they are active hunters of the woods and green environments. Quite bold considering they lack thick armor for protection and (seemingly) wings to escape. Of course, in the Beetle world, strange forms mean stranger defense and surprises. Like the large Oil Beetles (which are thick-bodied without armor and cannot fly), the Devil’s Coach Horse can employ a noxious chemical defense from its rear to defend itself if it feels threatened by an onlooker or photographer. This is the reason it arches its tail and becomes motionless, ready to fire back! In front, the jaws are open (hard to tell here, but online resources suggest this), ready to press. It’s a battle stance that’s very scorpion-like, but it’s still an insect and we can only appreciate the similarities. To bring this description back full-circle, though the elytra of this Rove Beetle are reduced and flattened (like their Earwig look-a-likes), there are functional wings folded underneath! Flight is a possibility, but it’s very rare. If you find a Rover with extended wings, that’s a picture worth taking immediately!
Pictures were taken on May 19, 2019 near Kleinburg village with a Samsung Galaxy S4. Next week, we’ll revisit this Beetle family with a similar specimen and flesh out this branch a bit more.

I rewatched The Wicker Man, as you expected if you noticed the poll.
In case you don’t know the movie: Christian nut job cop Prude McJudgie (not actual name) arrives on an island to investigate a missing child. Unfortunately for him, the nice little villagers are all neo-pagan nut jobs. The devout vs the devout! Not to worry, by the time it’s over the locals will give him a very warm farewell. The warmest!
I should say upfront, my brain simply isn’t wired for religion. All religions are equally bizarre and incomprehensible for me. Even in the real world I struggle to tell the difference between why some religion is “main stream” and another is “a cult” baffle me. Don’t ask me to explain the various flavors of christianity. I expect I view the movie differently than those have some religious norms that can be shocked.
So for me the religious clash amuses. You obviously have “sex is sin” colliding with “sex is sacred”, which I expect plenty of people find fun. I also find it fascinating you have the cop coming from a religion that worships people that were sacrificed encountering a society that believes in being hands on with sacrificing, sort of victimization vs being pro active. You have a religion cooked up over a couple thousand years ago by a mish mash of people meeting one that was created less than 200 yrs before by a specific person on fell swoop.
And yet in the end the village isn’t that different than any other little village. People do normal jobs, kids attend school, families function like any family. It’s a parallel universe…
With human sacrifice.
Okay…so maybe the religions here aren’t quite equal.
Human sacrifice is bad! Bad! BAD, BAD villagers! Sacrificing someone, even someone that believes in martyrdom as sacred, against their will, is beyond rude!!
Besides “sacrifice” suggests means something you don’t want to get rid of. Killing a goat can be sacrifice you need that goat, you’ve invested in the goat, there will be a cost in killing the goat. But how does killing someone you met three days before cost you anything?
Killings strangers, prisoners, and the like does have a long history, but that’s because humans also have a long history of willfully misusing the word. No one likes to pay a price, so if the price is human blood wouldn’t you rather use a foe than cousin Joe? But if whatever deities are being sacrificed to actually existed, wouldn’t they be a bit annoyed at such a cheap gift?
I have to admit that in the end I do feel sorry for the protagonist. I hate cops, and growing up in the bible belt as a non-believer has made me a wee bit wary of devote christians, so for most of the movie I’m not sympathetic. But in the famous conclusion to the story I’d have to be a monster not to feel the horror.
Of course, one has to wonder what would have happened if the cop hadn’t gone out there by himself. Maybe cops in that part of the world and era would go off to investigate mysterious letters all by their lonesome, with an open ended return schedule… but it does seem odd. It seems highly unlikely a partner wouldn’t have mucked with the islanders’ plans.
I’ve probably wrote about this movie before, back in the days when I blogged about everything I watched. I’ll just stop now and suggest you go see if I posted something more coherent when I wasn’t such worn down wreck!

The Clothing Industry in Empires Smp S2 (Headcanons!)
I know this is random but STAY WITH ME HERE OK
Yeah so anyways starting with Sanctuary and branching outwards.
Sanctuary outfits are all usually custom-made locally for the empire. As an empire that exports woods of all types, they're the kind of people that usually venture out to have to collect these when saplings run low, so they make their own gear; Lighter cloths to gather Acacia in the savannah heat and heavier ones for the cold for spruce. In Sanctuary though, it's usually focused on lighter because of the tropical weather.
They get commissions outside the lands every now and then from other empires, but tend to keep to themselves. Can't be a secret safe haven if the entire world knows your name.
The way their outfits are made are all Sanctuary-custom oriented and usually self-sufficient, however they do source their raw materials from two other kingdoms.
Chromia and Glimmer Grove.
The Chromia citizens are usually the more practical/ function-first-comfort-later people, however, if possible, they can also be silly with their creative ideas. Sometimes making something cute can also top functionality. An experimental set if you will.
As the dye exports, the dye fabrics and leathers in intricate patterns. They tend to wear light clothing as meadow-dwellers so you would see them in thin cloths and shawls. Their heaviest cloths at most would be for the gardeners in charge of collecting flowers to produce the dyes and the farmers who work with the animals and in the wheat field.
As for Glimmer Grove, they're like the Gucci (lmao) equivalent in terms of quality in the clothing industry. They're the ones who produce the fabrics and leathers. They're very popular for custom made commissions for their tailors around the world. They have a more varied clothing style compared to Chromia, with slightly heavier clothing for the colder nights. The softest leather you can find will definitely come from them, and it will be pricey (to be fair they are a nation trying to rebuild themselves from the ground-up)
Going back to Sanctuary, their relationship with Glimmer Grove would be the exchanging of said fabrics and cloth and leather for looms and practical tools for forming clothes (Sanctuary has very crafty tools as the lumber industry, so the people within it tend to be good with their hands but that's for another day). Chromia provides the colours and the fancy patterns of all kinds to both these kingdoms and they exchange back with their wares.
A big three-way exchange! :D
I don't have the map of the empires that's like, marked out of where they are in relation to each other- but i know chromia is fairly more inland while both Glimmer Grove and Sanctuary have docks? So it would be a combination of sea and land merchants for these exchanges.
AS FOR THE OTHER EMPIRES
Stratos' village usually source from Glimmer Grove and Chromia for the finest cotton and designs to offer to the gods while wearing fairly plainer but practical outfits for daily life themselves.
TumbleTown is really far away from everyone else I believe, and is still in the process of becoming accessible so they either import leather from Glimmer Grove which takes time, or make their own locally from plants and such from just outside the dry mesa.
Animalia...... uhh. Well, they have fur /j
REAL TALK besides Lizzie, Animalia citizens probably lean towards custom commissions. They're uhhhh animals so technically no they don't need clothes but maybe some of them might go "hell yeah look at that sweet jacket" and get one commissioned (reluctantly) from Glimmer Grove. They're a very superstitious community (but thats a topic for another day). I mean, Lizzie has disguises and everything so yeah. Commissions! But not active trading routes.
The Goblin Empire does not Trade often. They steal. They make local goblin clothing, made of mish mashed designs and outfits (that are somehow, strangely appealing), which can vary. Some parts where lighter cloth due to nearby lava, others wear heavier ones due to the coldness of the cave depths. Besides, they source their own leather from their bountiful pig farms.
Pixl isn't an "empire" technically and lore-wise, but I wanted to include! As a wandering historian that uncovers the mysteries of the past, you tend to go all over the place, therefore he has very wide variety of outfits. A little something from every other kingdom you could say. From the cool shawls of Chromia to the warmest wool of Glimmer Grove- he has a little bit of everything.
Forgotten Cove people tend to source their cloths either from Glimmer Grove OR they sew their cloths together for the most Practical yet stylish pirate fashionwear. Before being stranded at said Cove they most likely had to make cloths on board while sourcing the raw materials from land exports. No doubt the habit stays
False also sews and make their own cloths- mostly from distrust of other empires and still opening up. More than likely though, will just talk fully made clothes that just so happened to be "lying around."
And lastly, Dawn! Though their weather isn't as tropical as Sanctuary or hot like Chromia, they still wear lighter outfits under the sun and make sure to stay warm at the nights from the cool downward drafts of the mountain their rest beside. As fairly close (though not necessarily) neighbours with Chromia, they also tend to have beautiful patterns that they wear to honour the sun they live under.
All the empires this time around tend to live in warmer or average climates. I could argue for Stratos itself from higher altitude but uh. Gods and their godliness, y'know? Their chad aura is enough to keep them warm even if they just wore loincloths probably LMAO
#empires smp season 2#empires smp#empires smp chromia#empires smp glimmer grove#empires smp sanctuary#empires smp dawn#pixlriffs empires smp#empires smp stratos#empires smp animalia#empires smp the goblin empire#falsesymmetry#empires smp forgotten cove#ive had this in my drafts for a LONG WHILE IM FINALLY POSTING IT#hopefully i didnt mispell or miss any empires#i dont claim to know anything about geography or clothes honestly ive just wanted to do a silly thing LMAO

Project Blog 10: Getting the game ready for testing: The gameplay build
The next stage of developing the game involved getting it ready for wider testing:
This involved creating a pause screen that could edit the parameters of the game which would then be saved, and could be re-edited. As well as creating the test paper and the sliders and buttons people would test with.
First I needed to decide what variables I wanted to test and was unsure about, and wanted feedback on. I needed to create new functionality to alter certain variables and create new ones for the game to interact with. I also created some new gameplay mechanics/ styles for the purposes of testing and comparison.
First order of business was adding a pause screen. I was initially panicked at this prospect because I hadnt planned for this and was worried my audio intensive game that hadn’t been designed with this in mind would struggle to have everything sync up. It turned out to be surprisingly easy!
Following the info here: https://gamedevbeginner.com/the-right-way-to-pause-the-game-in-unity/
Simply changing the time scale to 0 stopped all game activity. No variables mechanics were running outside of time.deltatime. Those that didnt use it were being updated in update in a way which still worked.
I created a pause canvas ui which displayed over the whole of the screen when the game was paused on key press, and wrote instructions for the game’s controls on the pause menu.
The resource for the player was still regenerating while paused so I rewrote the meter to run on time.deltatime this also had the benefit of making the variables used to control it more legible to me, so that I could see the meter for player inactivity would last 6 seconds. -A relatively long time as I wanted the play experience to be somewhat relaxed and approachable. I also thought players might be able to change its duration but I ended up not testing for this as I felt there was already too much being tested and it did not fit into the other variables I was testing.
I also changed the music tracks from the more synth and strings oriented temporary ones to a more pleasing and cohesive generic rock output. These too were made in soundation. While I intended for the game to be closely tied to desert rock, I was limited on time and my own emotional resources in composing new music. I felt that composing something quicker that was close to my original intent and theming was the best use of my time, without going on a massive tanget, recording my playing. Finding stoner rock samples is not easy. The set I used in soundation from the ‘arena rock’ collection was more accessible and a better match than the previous audio track.
Next I changed the dash so that dashing while in the inactive state deleted enemies without triggering them. This let people clear the field and once again collect themselves while maintaining a ‘rest’ period in the music track. There was some trouble in checking for the player when dashing as the way I stopped triggering sound obejct was to turn the players trigger to ‘off’. Making it so that the player had acces to the spawner allowed me to get the location of the sound agent to call the spawn particles function, spawning the particle prefab on the sound agents position, By calling the function onCollisionStay, instead of onCollisionEnter
```
void OnCollisionStay(Collision collision) { if (dashing && !active) { //if (collision.gameObject.name != "Player") //{ spawnController.SpawnParticles(collision.gameObject.transform.position); Destroy(collision.gameObject); Debug.Log("Destroyed : " + collision.gameObject.name); //} }
}
```
I could check for the player dashing while also satisfying the inactive state. the check only occured on collision stay instead of all the time so it did require too many additional processes, thought I see it could have been optimised further.
Using the default Unity Slider ui I added sliders for the spawn rate: the time added on to each spawn interval. this was changed to ‘spawn delay’ as raising this value increased the time between spawns unlike the implications of ’spawn rate’ where you might think being high would make it so spawning happened more often.
I also added ‘spawn variance’ to control the random range that the spawn interval was affected by, this was added on to the spawn delay.
In this way you could make the game consistently spawn stuff with 0 variance/ randomness. Or make it less consistent. A spawn variance of 10 would have longer pauses, but also sometimes shorter ones, but this was always added on as time to the interval, which was a major limitation of this spawn system.
‘Spawn change’ originally called ‘spawn coefficient ‘, changed the coefficient of the calc adjustment value described in a previous post. Explaining this algortihm was seen as unnecessary to testers and coefficient too confusing so it was left as the vague: spawn change.
The next variable people were able to choose initially by ticking one of two boxes that switched on and off and later to a drop down menu that implied a discrete chocie between one of two options was inverting the player inactive state behaviour. This would invert the default state to be the inative one and the right click limited resource meter state to be the active one. I wanted to see whether people prefered this more active play style which I felt was more like the activity of playing music in some ways because rest is easier than playing an instrument; it is an active choice. I know this game is abstracted and I prefered the first original behaviour myself but I was curious what peoples reactions would be. I wonder if it would be biased by the defaults.
Also fixed a bug where dashing while inactive didnt change the sound agent count which would mess with the calc adjustment function. Essentially increasing time between spawns as the player deleted enemies while dashing while inactive even though there were lesss enemies on screen.
Recognising that the way the current enemy movement worked was based on transform, somewhat inelegant, and sound agents could be launched offscreen I added boundaries to delete sound agents pushed offscreen and removing them from the total count. Also let people edit the sound agent speed. And let people choose between the transform and velocity based sound agent movement. This is a very subtle change, and velocity may be more consistent but without further editing so that it could be psuhed by the player, the transform method of movement allowed the player to bunt enemies away while inactive. Which I thought was fun, but so was having enemies cling to you like a mish pit in some ways. I left the choice up to testing.

Something I haven’t talked about too much in the series (yet) is how language works in Sanctuary. There’s very little official Diablo lore material about dialect. The accents we hear in the game suggest there’s certainly regional dialects, if not outright separate linguistic groups.
Conclusion: there’s room for a fair amount of artistic license.
Lengthy extrapolation on language and linguistics in Sanctuary after the break!
In terms of Amor Aeternus and Archfall, this is how I approach language.
There are two dominant linguistic groups in Sanctuary. One is the language spoken in the Westmarch region. The other is the language spoken in Khejistan. Together, they represent Sanctuary’s equivalents of the Indo-European and Turkic language families. A third smaller group is those from Xinsai, who are the Sino-Tibetan equivalent. There are obviously others, but from what I can tell, these are the three largest.
Each family also consists of various subsets as well as dominant forms. For example, within the Westmarch subsets, we have Kormac’s Scottish-styled brogue (from Westmarch city proper), Lyndon’s lilting English-english, etc.
When I write folks from Khejistan, I use a little bit more artistic license. As a trade-city, Caldeum is going to be a melting pot of languages. My assumption (and this is a euro-centric one, partially influenced by the dialect choices in the English localization of the game) is that Westmarchian (or whatever we can call it) is the overarching diplomatic language of Sanctuary. Most educated folks speak it to some degree. At the same time, many educated Westmarchians would also know tidbits of Khejistani.
Because Caldeum seems to be an amalgamation of many different ethnic groups, I also assume that modern-Khejistani is a bit of a mish-mash of older, regional languages. Some of those regional dialects are still actively spoken in high numbers in Caldeum. Farah and Aya’s family, for example, are court-nobility, and they grew up speaking Caldemese, which is the common-name for the language spoken by the Emperor and more traditional members of the royalty or nobility. Essentially, it’s the difference between France-French and Quebecois-French (the modern Khejistani slang equivalent), only far more pronounced. Their accent identifies them in Caldeum as nobility, though Aya has taken a lot of steps to try and eliminate hers for that reason.
Because their father was a judge, both women were exposed to multiple languages from an early age. When Farah began her work in libraries, her ability to speak languages outside the Khejistani linguistic group grew dramatically, in part because she had many visitors from the Westmarch region. Over time, she became functionally multilingual in both, which is why we see her speaking Westmarchian when she arrives in Tristram: she instinctively adapts to the language of the region, assuming she knows it. Aya prefers Westmarchian at this point and has made it her preferred language out of sheer spite for the rest of her family.
The interesting character in all of this is Malthael. I write all of the mortal-Archangels as keeping some elements of their angelic abilities. Tyrael, for example, maintains his ability to use El’druin’s magic. He can also teleport (himself) to the Heavens if he wishes, and has fairly substantial constitution when it comes to battle. Auriel, who you will see a great deal more of in Archfall, continues to wield Al’maiesh, and also retains (though lesser) abilities to heal and nurture life.
Malthael, by nature of representing a dual Aspect, carries two sets of abilities. The Death Aspect we’ve seen with the return of some of his Reaper magic; you’ll see more of this in Archfall, including his renewed ability to control frost magic. The Wisdom Aspect, however -- what is his Aspect ability for that? Answer: he can speak/read any language. In order to collect knowledge, you have to be able to understand it first. His brain works like an angelic Rosetta stone.
This is a pretty nifty ability to have, especially when you are sneaking around like the rogue he is. We see him speak Caldemese (not Khejistani) perfectly to the Emperor in Amor Aeternus: Act 3. And he can pull out any accent as required, which we see in “Night of Souls” when he imitates the Westmarch brogue to Farah.
Some fun extra tidbits that are more character related:
In “Arcane and Apples”, Malthael begins to write letters to Farah, at least partially, in Caldemese. It’s possible she mentions something at some point that tips him off to her background. However, the higher chance is that he is pestering Tyrael for information about his new friend in order to make her happy. At that point, he’s already leaving her gifts as thank-yous for her work in the library. And Malthael being, well, Malthael, is a perfectionist, and wants all the information to be able to gift-give just so.
(If it’s not obvious this is his love language, then I have done something wrong in my writing.)
In many ways, Malthael and Farah are alike in how they approach spoken language. Though she speaks far fewer languages than he does (understandably), they both instinctively speak whatever is spoken to them. When they first meet, both are speaking Westmarchian, and this carries on for quite some time.
Until one or the other realizes they both speak Caldemese.
Speaking Caldemese is an odd thing for Farah at this point. It feels like home to her. It is familiar and reminds her of her mom. Also, it reminds her of her dad, who was terrifying and someone she doesn’t like to think about. Still, sometimes when her and Malthael are chatting by the fire, she falls back into those familiar phrasings, and he returns them, and it just feels right.
I imagine she has those moments all multilingual people have, where the words muddle a bit, and colloquial sayings don’t quite translate, and she finds Malthael staring at her, eyes twinkling with barely contained humour, because he knows exactly what she is trying to say, and he could correct her, but he won’t, because that would be rude. And she is simultaneously irate and in love with him in those moments, because he’s not being a smart-ass, but he’s also letting her brain stumble over something that it damn well knows how to do properly on different days.
However, the lovely thing about all of this, is that no matter what she chooses to speak on a given day, Farah knows he will always understand her perfectly. Anyone listening in to the two of them talking in private might share a head scratch at their unexpected shifts and dances around words.
One of the few things that will make Farah instinctively break into full Caldemese is if she is well and truly angry. It takes a lot to make her angry. Angry Farah is different than annoyed Farah. Angry Farah will tear strips from you in the ancient holy words of her great-grandmother with the combined curses of a thousand tired librarians. Likely, with a few Westmarchian cusses thrown in by accident.
Malthael will absolutely not intervene in these situations. He will stand to the side, eyes wide, a look of almost pity on his face at whoever has garnered the wrath of the librarian. He has clearly never brought it on himself. Never. (Lies.)
#diablo: amor aeternus#diablo: archfall#language on sanctuary#mortal!malthael#farah#my writing#lots of headcanon extrapolation in this#so i'm keeping it out of the main tags#but here's some thoughts on language#and our multilingual librarian and reaper#caldemese#khejistani#westmarchian

Glass Gator
The glass gator is Tome of Beast’s next… well, beast, in the monster type. Essentially a mixture of a scorpion’s stinger, a centipede’s body and an alligator’s head, with largely transparent skin. Despite this kind of horrifying mish-mash of creatures it still just barely fits within what I consider an acceptable “natural” beast. The elements of it are all pulled from real life creatures, though some of it scaled up greatly to a much larger creature, and absent the evidence of someone actively creating it, it seems to have evolved on its own.
One weird little peculiarity in the gator’s mechanics is that it doesn’t have a bite attack of any kind, instead using oversized front limbs to claw and grapple at targets. Apparently that alligator head is just for show, or for ripping up the body after its prey is deceased. In actual combat, it serves the creature no purpose. I don’t think that’s really a major flaw in the design. The flaw I see comes from the fact that the glass gator has no attack using the large poisonous stinger the art and description give it. Other places within the fluff and mechanics make reference to many small stingers coating its underbelly that the gator drags prey against to poison them, so I have to guess that it’s a disconnect between the designer and the artist, or something changed later in the design and new artwork couldn’t be commissioned for it.
Primarily functioning as an ambush predator, the gator is very difficult to see underwater as much of its transparent body appears to meld into the water. The organs that aren’t transparent can appear as a snake or eel, a much less threatening creature and may draw in curious targets to attack. Most combat will be initiated by a powerful lunge, which essentially gives the gator multiattack if it jumps 10 feet towards a creature, so long as it hits with the first attack. After that it can gain distance if no longer grappling by stirring up a massive cloud of silt (provided it’s under water and can access the material to do so) and fleeing when it takes damage, either helping it escape or setting it up for another lunge.
The glass gator might be a bit powerful for moon druids, as a level 1 beast with 15 AC, 45 hit points and a number of additional defenses, but they can’t transform into it until 4th level anyways, a much less daunting prospect. Advantage on Stealth checks and the ability to breath above and below water are handy utility features though, and many druids would get use out of those in the right environment.
A pair of glass gators roam the harbour of a small port town. They leave ships and humanoids alone, primarily feeding on the fish parts that flow off the docks into the water and the carcasses dumped into the bay after being stripped down. They are protective over their lair however, the rotting husk of a ship that sank decades ago and is the source of many a rumor over sunken treasure lost on board. Most discount it as nonsense, if anything truly valuable remained in such an obvious wreck they would have been collected long ago by the owners or other opportunistic parties, but something valuable does remain that cannot be easily removed. A large metal plate on the wall of the captain’s quarters shows an old map of several countries, including reference to a few locations of importance that have been left off maps for a while now, and adventurers hunting for one of those places may have to risk the gators’ wrath to find their destination.
Glass gators are one of the dominant predators of the mangroves. Their transparency hides them from the few threats that outmatch them, such as hydras and froghemoths. This lets them hunt even in the territory of such monsters, and they may be even greater threats to travelers than those creatures. Hydras and froghemoths are easier to track, as they’re much larger and their territory and lairs are clearly marked. Gators on the other hand travel unseen, and following their movement is nearly impossible, meaning that every expedition must be on the lookout for danger even if they stick to paths that were previously safe.
River merfolk domesticated glass gators ages ago. Now, hundreds of variant types of glass gators exist, from lobster sized show pets to 12 foot long guardians. No river checkpoint is complete without at least a pair of the guards, hidden off to the side to allow ships to pass if their papers are in order, but ready to lunch up onto the deck at a gesture if something is off.

What Does Business Intelligence Success Mean?
Ok, I Think I Understand Business Intelligence Success, Now Tell Me About Business Intelligence Success! If you are pleased with your company model as a whole and mainly want to improve operations, boost efficiency and meet organizational targets, business intelligence could possibly be an optimal solution. Together with the time and costs related to staffing, you will want to consider their working environments and ensuring your human resources is prepared for the higher capacity. More than that, it does not focus on just the customer alone. Collecting the exact same KPIs as everyone else When you're trying to gauge the success of your company, you might think about analysing exactly the same KPIs as your competitor. Benefits of Business Intelligence Explained With Use-Cases have now started investing in the sensible tracking software which not only assist in tracking the field workforce but also boost the general productivity along with optimizing the business expenses. Often they want to improve different aspects of their business all at once, but can't put a finger on what will measure their progress towards overarching company goals. Authority Collection provides organizations and vendors with the capacity to know precisely what authority is needed to execute a job, eliminating the guesswork. On top of that, the simple version is absolutely free. SAP that was once thought to be a failure today has many success stories linked to it. It has to be robust as an application, user friendly in order for your staff doesn't waste guest time filling in details and should be able to integrate to your back office too. You have to develop a style of operating where you are continuously scanning for what works well and what doesn't work nicely. There are several Prior art search service that is best at performing a process to find out whether the present innovation is validate or invalidate. A Business strategy map is a good means to see the entire picture on a single part of paper and to adjust and align business activities to attain the vision and goals of the business. Companies may use the information from business intelligence software to find out what items within the industry should be changed since they're not selling well. Business Analytics on the opposite hand is more of a verb, the action of discovering insights employing any tooling or services available. The Importance of Business Intelligence Success You may monitor your company and get answers quickly with rich dashboards readily available on every gadget. You shouldn't need to navigate away from the dashboard to check at historical data or some other resource to evaluate progress. In addition, the visualisation capabilities of tableau are simple to use and very intuitive, thereby saving a good deal of time for those Data Scientists. Interaction with databases and massive data sets with the assistance of Natural Language Interfaces can alter the way we interact with complex systems. Reports are somewhat more accurate as they are able to look at the thousands of calculations behind report values. Intelligent data is normally a subset of Big Data, but nevertheless, it could also have data that isn't being captured. You wouldn't buy a solution that gave results only in a foreign language and after that hire a couple of translators to explain everything the whole company, and therefore don't place your analysts or data scientists in that position using an intricate system. To attain BI success, companies want to recognize that problems typically begin at the source because of factors like disparate systems or a scarcity of information ownership. While traditional business intelligence tools deliver big picture info, they don't supply the diagnostic analytics that delivers the company user with a thorough description of what is going on regarding the processes across business units, regions, or IT systems. Because, as you probably know, right now we've got a mish-mash of information systems that aren't always interoperable. Further, in the event the frequency of retrieving the data is quite high but volume is low then a conventional RDBMS might suffice for storing your data as it is going to be economical. Once the data was prepared, it would be given to the charting engine to make the crucial dashboards. Selection of the proper BI tool for your specific requirements is an important and tough alternative. There are lots of terms and technologies you want to take under consideration in regards to BI. 1 reason to utilize Power BI is the way it can connect with third-party services. The idea of Natural Language Processing isn't in any respect difficult to comprehend. General intelligence isn't enough. It is a hard sell. ERP is a lot of various terminologies that help the cell app development business to run the company smoothly. ERP software should function as the crucial part for managing all critical facets of a business. BI has the capacity to go far past the metrics of ordinary company. What You Should Do to Find Out About Business Intelligence Success Before You're Left Behind In addition, it demonstrates that in business intelligence, one particular term can mean unique things to various folks, based on their company focus and their perspective. The key things that raised concerns were, the absence of updates and the lack of cloud support. By way of example, managers can be given a notification whenever the range of competent leads decreases by a specific threshold, so they can review any recent adjustments and make a decision as to what adjustments are essential. An easy, powerful insight empowers businesses to have a profound understanding of the topic accessible, and to comprehend what to do about it. 1 sticking point both big and smallish businesses struggle with is how to start the self-auditing practice. A large portion of emotional intelligence is having the ability to think about and empathize with how other folks are feeling. Folks who have strong emotional intelligence are ready to think about the perspectives, experiences, and emotions of different people and use this information to explain why folks behave the manner they do. To extract accurate insights from structured and unstructured data, the leaders must center on cultivating a data-driven culture that helps to ensure that employees have the proper resources and expertise to leverage data and are ready to produce explicit small business decisions at the correct moment. If they are on edge because they are challenged by a difficult, important problem, that's fine as long as they have what they need to solve that problem.

If you are looking for the "best" ACTIVATION function, be ready to spend some time looking for it because there are hundreds of them! Fortunately, you can safely cross-validate just a couple of them to find the right one. There are a few classes of activation functions (AF) to look out for:
- The Sigmoid and Tanh based - Those activation functions were widely used prior to ReLU. People were very comfortable with those as they were reminiscent of Logistic Regression and they are differentiable. The problem with those is that, being squeezed between [0, 1] or [-1, 1], we had a hard time training deep networks as the gradient tends to vanish.
- Rectified Linear Unit (ReLUhttps://proceedings.mlr.press/v15/glorot11a/glorot11a.pdf) back in 2011 changed the game when it comes to activation functions. I believe it became very fashionable after AlexNet won the ImageNet competition in 2012 (https://proceedings.neurips.cc/paper/2012/file/c399862d3b9d6b76c8436e924a68c45b-Paper.pdf). We could train deeper models but the gradient would still die for negative numbers due to the zeroing in x < 0. Numerous AF were created to address this problem such as LeakyReLU and PReLU.
- Exponential AF such as ELU (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1511.07289v5.pdf) sped up learning by bringing the normal gradient closer to the unit natural gradient because of a reduced bias shift effect. They were solving for the vanishing gradient problem as well.
- More recent AFs use learnable parameters such as Swish (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1710.05941v2.pdf) and Mish (https://arxiv.org/abs/1908.08681). Those adaptive AFs allow for different neurons to learn different activation functions for richer learning while adding parametric complexity to the networks.
- The class of Gated Linear Unit (GLU) has been studied quite a bit in NLP architectures (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1612.08083v3.pdf) and they control what information is passed up to the following layer using gates similar to the ones found in LSTMs. For example Google's PaLM model (https://arxiv.org/pdf/2204.02311.pdf) is trained with a SwiGLU activation (https://arxiv.org/pdf/2002.05202v1.pdf).
Here is a nice review of many activation functions with some experimental comparisons: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2109.14545.pdf. Looking at the PyTorch API (https://pytorch.org/docs/stable/nn.html#non-linear-activations-weighted-sum-nonlinearity) and the TensorFlow API (https://www.tensorflow.org/api_docs/python/tf/keras/activations) can also give a good sense of what are the commonly used ones.

However, and that further drives home the point that the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 arrangement is at its best when adhering to its center, stripped back standards. The most much needed development from the Alpha has been the perceptible nerfing of expert sharpshooters. Without being taken out by one of many holding up marksmen. Expert marksman rifles are presently just one fired executes if a headshot or upper middle projectile grounds. Which in a split second gives a superior parity to the class. This has prompted less expert sharpshooters on the combat zone! Naval force has immediately gotten my top pick of the guides because of the quantity of various flanking courses accessible. Moving around the numerous huge boats is a more liquid encounter because of ziplines feeling snappier and reliably more responsive while setting off. Fortunately, the more modest, pilotable vessels presently take significantly less harm to crush! This guide, joined with the new Assault assortment of Combined Arms the huge scope! Attack varies from Domination in that the two groups! Just battling for control of each point in turn instead of 5 at the same time, yet it moves around the guide. As the two sides are constrained into one region as opposed to being spread out into little pockets of activity. The equivalent can be said when playing on the new guide present in the Beta, Cartel, which is set in the Nicaraguan wilderness. Generally conspicuous of these being that it falls afoul of a similar sentiment of vacancy that guides. Like Miami and Moscow summon when playing any of the 6v6 modes. Frequently brings about running circles of similar territories before being taken out similarly as you see an adversary. This leads onto another of the shortcomings with this guide, which is an issue that seeps into Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Download free pc when all is said in done. Cartel is the main guide experienced so far where outdoors is a functioning issue. However, overall Treyarch have work admirably at making this troublesome on a large portion of the guides. In Cartel, however, there are many, numerous brambles to cover up in and many, numerous players who appear to appreciate doing it. Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War free shower projectiles over the bushes, and gotten hit markers more regularly than you envision that way. This, combined with the overall absence of foe perceivability, on occasion can make for a baffling match! Alongside another guide, a modest bunch of new modes have been tossed in with the general mish mash including the Beta. Celebrity Escort is a strategic takeoff from the standard and requires a degree of collaboration not regularly connect with Call of Duty Warzone. One colleague is assigned as the nominal VIP and must advance toward one of numerous extraction zones! So as to win the round while their partners ensure them. Seldom does a match actually make it to the last stage. Therefore, as one group is quite often clear out before the target can be met. Another enormous new expansion is Fireteam: Dirty Bomb! Exploding the grimy bombs, and obviously, getting executes. Vehicles are additionally speck around the guide alongside boxes containing killstreaks! The reinforcement framework from Verdansk likewise advances over. The issue is that none of it truly meets up as it does in Warzone and each round routinely winds up being somewhat of a wreck. The time it takes to really explode a bomb is intensely long and on occasion feels difficult to finish! As the foes downpour fire down on you from each course as they unreservedly parachute abruptly. It might be down to the generally little size of the guide when contrasted with Warzone however it infrequently. Feels like you have the opportunity to really finish the principle goals! Which is somewhat of an issue no doubt when they are your essential wellspring of focuses. Possibly a somewhat longer respawn deferral would help this or a diminishing in the explosion time. That being stated, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Download pc is at its best for me when it sticks to giving relentless activity and fulfilling gunplay on maps that! Not the entirety of the new guide and mode augmentations very hit the imprint with the Beta. The overall feel and adjusting of the multiplayer feels in a vastly improve spot than it was only a couple weeks prior. With the slender line between an old fashioned feel and an obsolete one actually being stroll unstably. With everything taken into account, appreciating it presently and am confident dependent on what play. Despite the fact that it actually feels a difficult task for Cold War to wrestle my time away from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone in its present status. Phasmophobia Download Free for PC. Hi! How do you think Luke's personality would be if he survived, and how would it change during the years? I'm not talking about the campers' reactions, but how Luke would think and act.
hello hello!
oh man, that’s an interesting question and i LOVE IT
so by the wording of your question, it sounds like if the titan war still happened, but luke somehow survived after getting rid of kronos, how he might change in the yrs following
and so, hcs!! in bullet-form!! as always under a cut
so he luke miraculously survives hitting his achilles’ heel
and let’s pretend the gods are a sliver decent and actually fulfill percy’s wish/reward, which now includes luke since he’s alive, and did help save the gods in the end
so he’s not exactly punished, but he is being monitored heavily, almost like he’s on parole or smth
i know it’s hard to believe they’d completely let him off, even in this au, so i’ll throw in a magical ankle bracelet that monitors him–he can’t take it off (without the gods being alerted), or go outside of nyc’s five boroughs, which includes into any magical realms (like the underworld, since there’s an entrance in central park)
if he heads into areas that have high demigod activity/magical auras, with chb as the exception, it alerts whoever now has the task of monitoring him to keep a closer eye on him for that time he’s there
suspicious activity is flagged, and they can recall him to mt olympus and detain him at any time if they think that he’s becoming a danger to the gods again
speaking of chb, i don’t think he’d be able to stay there after the titan war, too many painful memories–too many ppl who hate him, or don’t trust him, etc.
it’s hard to say what his and annabeth’s relationship would be. as i’ve said in a previous ask, i think luke was asking if annabeth still considered him family, and she does. but i think luke would be too guilt-ridden to interact with her at first
not to mention that percy is v protective, and while they may have had a tender moment abt not letting all that happen again, i think percy would have a hard time trusting him
thalia’s now with the hunters, and has clearly shown what she thinks of luke’s betrayal, so that’s no good either
i think grover would be more open to luke, but luke would probably avoid him like he avoid annabeth bc of the guilt. and grover’s a busy satyr now, so that doesn’t help
so basically anyone he considered close to him in childhood is on shaky ground and he’s not sure what to do abt that, bc demigods are only taught abt fighting and battle, instead of that and emotional and psychological health wheeeeeee
since he can’t leave nyc, he finds like a hostel or smth to stay in while he figures shit out and tries to get back on his feet
he’s suffering p heavily from ptsd and still has terrible nightmares abt kronos and being possessed by kronos, which doesn’t help
he can’t hold a steady job bc he only knows how to fight and has no social skills whatsoever, so he becomes some low-level conman to make some income
he still hates his father, so it’s hard to acknowledge that his father’s skills are helping hi survive right now, as much as he’d like to believe that he’s surviving all on his own
at some point, he tries to con one of the demigods who’ve made it without chb (a demigod whose parent is a minor god). thankfully, they’re nice abt it and introduce him to a demigod underworld, so to speak
i wouldn’t say it’s as sinister as our criminal underworld–it’s really more of a society of demigods who were forgotten (unclaimed kids) or never made it to camp (children of minor gods), but found a way to survive with little to no training from camp, despite the monsters and technology
luke is suddently introduced to a whole new world, and that’s when his life really starts moving forward again
these demigods are angry and bitter, yeah, but they take that and turn it into motivation to live and thrive–basically living bc of spite. fuck the gods, fuck my parents, i’ll show them i don’t need them or chb
(like rick has this weird thing abt writing kids who say that, but then talk abt how much they want their godly parent’s approval. or to prove that they’re worth of their godly parent’s attention. and like i get why, but that’s not true for everyone??? having been adopted, i come from a perspective of, yeah, i am a little curious abt who my biological parents are, but i’m not dying to reunite with them or anything bc i don’t need to??? i have everything i need right here–a loving mom, and awesome friends, who i would consider family. even if i did want to know who they were, their approval of who i am now doesn’t matter to me. i don’t need to prove anything to them, nor should i need to for their attention. like that’s shitty to expect that from your child, and a horribly mindset to instill in a child)
and so i imagine it’s the same for a lot of demigods, too /tangent
anyway, so i’d like to think that this society is pretty structured–it’s a mish-mash of kids of major gods who were never claimed and of minor gods. some do resort to criminal activity, others work minimum wage jobs, and still others who are making higher than minimum wage, with some even making six figures ya know. basically they still function within the larger mortal society, but they’re also part of this hidden demigod society, you feel?
but they always take in demigods who could use some help out in the real world, regardless of who their parents are and whether or not they’ve been claimed/lived at chb
hephaestus kids have built a closed-circuit network that makes tech safer for them to use, and it also helps them communicate with each other as well as any mortal they make friends with, etc.
and their secret society is hidden within a company (kinda like how the three roman emperors hid themselves within a company, except without the evil part), and it’s v socialist–so they do what they can to help those who don’t have anything, until they can get back on their feet, and then put back into the society and help others
so luke is introduced to this hidden world within the mortal one of new york
i’d like to think he’s p instantly recognizable (to most, not all), but they don’t hold any grudges or bitterness like those at chb to bc they understand that he was fighting for them, even if he was going abt it the wrong way
some put him on a pedestal (he’s the face of our hidden society or he could take up the company or smth), but another kid of hermes comes along and shows him the ropes, not expecting anything from him
they get him therapy to work on his anger issues as well as his ptsd, and he slowly learns social skills
there are two large apt buildings that the company owns that only house demigods (but not all the demigods who are part of this society), and they find him a small one bed/one bath apartment to live in
as he gets better, he stops resorting to criminal activity and finds a steady job working at a tech company, bc he doesn’t have to interact with ppl like in retail, and when he does, its coworkers who think the same as he does
i also like to think he starts mend those relationships he lost with annabeth and grover. thalia’s a little harder to reach, but once he starts communicating with annabeth more, annabeth tells thalia abt his progress, and thalia sneaks away to visit him on occasion
it’s rough at first, as it always is, bc he did a lot of bad things and hurt a lot of ppl
but he apologizes to all of them–annabeth, grover, thalia, and even percy
they start to hang out occasionally, and luke almost become a mentor to percy again
(we’re kinda ignoring hoo rn for luke’s mental health, but percy most definitely talks to luke abt how he can see where luke was coming from during the second titan war after that whole prophecy nightmare)
eventually, they become friends, even family
he’s happy to hear that the camp is expanding, allowing minor demigods; the hermes cabin is far less crowded
but luke still holds a lot of anger and bitterness. even living within this secret society, it’s yet another symptom of the gods’ lack of caring (like the crowded hermes cabin)
even with percy’s request and the expanding camp, luke still hears of demigods joining their society, which is a little disheartening if only bc it still represents the gods’ lack of caring
with the help of therapy, tho, he’s learning to channel is anger into smth productive
instead of trying to raise evil entities, he throws himself into the business that their society is hidden in. he wants to know all the inner workings of both the demigod and mortal side bc he wants to help as many demigods he can
bc in the end, he’s still a scared, lost little nine year old boy who just wants someone to be there for other demigods since no one was there for him
oh and speaking of, he finds the courage to visit him mom again! annabeth goes with him, since he’s still working through all that shit with his therapist (and lbr, that’s smth that someone might never work through, just learn to cope with)
i wouldn’t say he visits her often, but he spends some of his income and hires a caregiver to help around the house, but also to take care of may. since the prophecy has been fulfilled, her visions aren’t as bad, and she doesn’t have so many spells, but her mind is still quite lost bc the curse is still there
eventually, luke works his way up the ranks of the company bc he sees the good that this society is doing, and wants to be a part of that. he can finally help these demigods that doesn’t involve destroying the world
he starts to visit camp a little, but usually only talks with chiron abt the changes that they could make to the camp to better help the kids there. the whole place, tho, still holds a lot of painful memories that luke would just rather forget. so he doesn’t go often
it’s a long, long process and luke stays in therapy indefinitely, but the work he’s doing with the company, and the demigods he interacts with on a daily basis help him a lot
he slowly heals, and mends fences, as well as makes new friends and bonds
he never truly lets go of his anger and bitterness, and for the most part he just kinda ignores the gods. remembering what he did during the titan war still haunts him, but he uses those memories as a reminder and promises to never do anything like that again
and this time he keeps his promise!
*sniffles* look at my bby boy growing up and healing.
despite liking white collar!luke (which i could see this so easily sprouting from your initial question), i wanted to take this in a different route and really delve into his healing process bc it’s like a salve to my soul. it’s so easy to ignore emotional and psychological health, but for anyone it’s so, so important to address those issues and work through them ya know?
like i advocate for mental health and stability! as well as emotional healing, esp for men bc it breaks down that toxic masculinity. and toxic masculinity often does lead to expressions of anger and violence in men in our society
i could probably say more, but i’ll leave it there for now. it feels like a good stopping point. hmu if you’d like to hear more specifics abt anything within this au!! i’d be happy to write more abt this au :D
thanks for sending this in, anon!!
#oh god for shame! i do not even know your name#notesofananonymousnight#asked and answered#luke castellan#pjo hcs#pjo au
