krypton lives and kara did not sign up for this sounds so interesting!! i wanted to participate but i don't have enough wips yet (which is only more inspo to do so) but i wanted to send this!

She’s not going to kill Kal, Kara decides. She’s going to tell Aunt Lara on him. 

“Alright,” she sighs, tabling her vengeance for the next weekly check-in from Aunt Lara. “I’m making rice and fish, then, and giving you milk to drink. We’re not getting fancy for your first foray into Kryptonian cuisine. I’d have to be able to cook for that to work out, for one thing.” 

“You can’t cook?” Thirteen says. 

“I went straight into the Warrior Guild the day I was of age,” Kara snorts. “They don’t really push cooking as a life skill in the army.” 

“You didn’t have KP duty?” Match asks, looking skeptical. 

“I don’t even know what that is, so no,” Kara replies frankly, pulling out the fish and rice. Hopefully Earthlings eat crystal fish, because that’s what she got the most of at the market. It was on sale and she still doesn’t know what kind of appetites to expect these two to have; sue her. She also bought flying eel and chainfish and even flash-finned shark, because she absolutely godsdamn panicked, but still, mostly it’s crystal fish. 

She’s going to be eating a lot of crystal fish if Thirteen and Match don’t like it.

this is a remaster of a challenge i had on my previous account (that one is still circling around thanks to some talented simmers <3) i wanted to try a new angle at it though, thanks to @birdietrait & @wildmelon's challenges!

the gist of the challenge is to get bingo and create a sim with whatever choices you got. you can do this vertically, horizontally, and in a criss-cross pattern! as long as you have five choices honestly, it's fine. at the moment there are no other rules!

i would love to see the creations you guys make with these so if you make one, please either tag me or use the tag #simsbingomm in the post.

(also if there aren't enough options in this one i definitely don't mind making a ver. 2!)

Definitely. Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella are probably our favorite classic Disney films (Sleeping Beauty is one of the most technically and aesthetically perfect animated films and Cinderella's finale always gets me a lil'). There'll be lots of little homages, from the character designs to certain scenes.

hi! just wanted to say that someone rec'd me a robin in a nest of bats and i ended up reading it all in the span of two days! reverse robins is definitely one of my favorite batfam concepts and it's awesome to see you doing it so well and all these different scenarios!

i am curious though, would you ever consider including duke thomas into your work as well? i'd be really interested to see how you not only write him, but what his dynamic would be in the family.

I have thought about adding Duke a lot, and I do plan on it at some point. When I started this fic (over 6 years ago now holy shit), I hadn't read a single thing with Duke in it. I've read some more now with him in it (though still woefully behind on current stuff). I'm just thinking on how to add him in (plus do a refresh on his backstory).

do you have a quick tutorial for installing relight? i downloaded it and i assume i put the shaders and folders in the right place. the relight shows up in my menu + the visual lights but i don't get any actual changes to my lighting!

Hi! If it's showing up in the menu with no compiling errors you likely have it all installed correctly.

So, you turn on the shader and then turn on the individual lights, do the circles appear? If so, can you move them closer to an object and see what happens?

Just turning the lights on in an empty space may not really do much. They need to be positioned so the light can actually reach an object - like a Sim or a couch or a wall or something. The lights don't really create ambient light, they're spot lights.

Imagine you place one of the ceiling lights in the game that casts a narrow cone of light on the floor rather than illuminating the whole room. There are a few of those I think. The lighting across the room won't change at all, only where that cone of light hits.

It's similar for these spotlights. They work very much by proximity.

So, if you can see the circles when you've turned everything on, go ahead and move one of them right up close to a wall or a Sim (remember they work in 3D space so you need to move them forwards and backwards too, not just up/down or left/right) and see if light starts to hit them. If it does, everything is working properly.

i saw your post about wire and it really intrigued me because i'm always looking for new places to explore roleplaying/writing, i love this community lots. is there a community on wire for roleplaying or is it more of a private thing like how discord rp was when it first started getting popular?

It's more of a private thing AFAIK. Like ... you can do group chats like you can on Skype and Discord but you can't have servers like Discord. Does that make sense??

You also need to ask people for their usernames and whatnot kinda like Discord because, otherwise, you won't be able to chitchat with them. However, unlike Skype and Discord, I don't think you technically add people as friends?? You basically just invite them to talk to you, more or less, IIRC.

But things could have changed since I used it last because I haven't used Wire in about a year. Either way, people like to take screenshots of their Wire profile of their muses and they'll share it with everyone for people to "add" them in a matter of speaking.
