Studio Bones’ and ONE’s masterful work with the extremely nuanced and allusive facial expressions in Mob Psycho 100 adds so much subtext and subtlety to scenes. Like there’s a rich world of emotions behind the text of a lot of important scenes—stuff said only through furtive movements and charged looks. It’s very fun to go back through the context of the anime or the manga and really pay attention to the details. People who won’t watch or read MP100 because of the art style are really missing out

I really wanted to emphasize his intj stare
[Image description: Digital art featuring Ritsu Kageyama from Mob Psycho 100 in the format of an art meme. At the top of the image is text reading "Draw fanart of a character..." There are two large boxes that take up the majority of the image. The left box is labeled "On-model/as close to canon as possible," and contains two drawings of Ritsu, one in the original black-and-white manga style and the other in the anime style with colors directly picked from anime renders. The right box is labeled "In your style and/or with your headcanons," and contains a painting of Ritsu rendered in more detail than a typical manga panel or anime frame, with painterly shading and slightly more realistic features. His hair is much more detailed with highlights from several different hues and many stray hairs, and his dark eyes have a blue triangle-shaped shine, subtly resembling his aura from the anime. In all drawings, Ritsu is in his middle school uniform with a blue bookbag, with a small but knowing smile. In the manga drawing his arms are at his sides, in the anime drawing his arms are crossed, and in the stylized drawing he is pointing directly at the viewer. Text on the bottom, outside the boxes, reads "That look of pure analyzing coupled with a slight sardonic smile that makes people uneasy." End ID]

Y’know I always thought people were over exaggerating when they said live action anime adaptations were bad
Until I actually watched a live action anime adaptation.

...You know...with the recent uptick of Live Action Anime Adaptions I have to ask...
Who...Who watches these exactly? And for what reason to they watch it?
Cause for some reason we keep getting these and they're...not...good half the time? Like...The FMA adaptation, Mob Psycho 100 and who can, despite their best efforts, forget about Cowboy Bebop?
But apparently they keep happening...why? I can only guess it's because people do indeed watch em.
Probably to riff on em...or....because there is something I'm not seeing? What do you see in these adaptations? Cause they're pretty out of touch...Like
Cowboy Bebop (2021)
This is supposed to be Vicious. Yes the Cold, Stoic, Skilled and Remorseless assassin For The Red Dragon Syndicate.
At first glance does this...does this look like Vicious
? from what I hear he's basically a Man Child in the Adaptation...
Among the other stuff that's wrong with it...
But like...what do people even LIKE about these adaptations?
And for the people who Riff and Roast on these...You're kind of Part of the problem. You bring attention to them and thus people want to go out and hate watch em...
Well...sorry but hate watching doesn't send the kind of message you think it sends. it says you watched it, not that you hated it but you watched it. you spent hours of your time watching these, you are still part of the viewership. That means money, and that means no matter what people will still watch these....good or bad...but mostly bad.
Will it stop? hardly...unless a very...VERY large contingent of people just do. not. watch these. cause the silence would be more louder then the most scathing critiques.
Unless that happens these will keep being pumped out why?
Love em or Hate em...they are being watched by people...and that's good enough...
