The map site at miku.earth is back: sorry for the delay in fixing it! Check it out: it has six hundred Mikus!

Including the hyuge ol' queue, we've collected over 3,100 mikus!

Representation is important! I've been using some fancy stats to avoid bias. To that end, please help make sure we have a Miku in every African country!

I ran into a kinda complex issue and it was a whole Thing. I was working on the site the whole time though! Sorry for the delay, and I hope you enjoy now it's back up and running.

This site has six hundred Mikus on the map, and more are added each week. It was recently rebuilt from scratch (fun fact! I am not a web developer) so I hope it is far zippier and less glitchy as before. A mobile-friendly version is coming soon too!

Also: check out the new search feature! In addition to the title, artist name and region(s), it can also search for the categories indigenous and historic!

Even at its Miku-per-hour speed, the queue will continue until 2025 at least! This is with thanks to an incredible number of contributions, including donations of literal thousands of links.

Some napkin math tells me there are at least 10,000 works of art total out there, which is, by the way, surreal. Let's make sure not a single one is lost.

If you're super curious, the collection is public! I have some tools to auto-annotate (I do not want RSI), but be aware the backlog isn't vetted.

Representation is important!

Fun as this trend is, this project was always intended as a serious study into how people represent their own culture through artwork. I'm no anthropologist, but I feel it is important to make sure this collection is respectful and bias-free. If we're to represent the world, we have to avoid underrepresentation!

To that end I've used some fancy statistics to calculate a "representation value" for each country. Here's a table if you're into the stats of it! This info is handy to help me with the queue – especially with tweets as they're a lil more effort than a carefully-tagged reblog. Of course, Indigenous, hyperspecific and low-note Mikus get priority.

And, well, of course you can see on the site there are purple regions for countries still missing a Miku. In particular, please help me make sure every country in Africa is represented.

Hello all fellow Inuyasha fandoms members!

The mod-team here at FC has been hard at work the last few months developing a new way to send in nominations. We've created a fool-proof (and hopefully easier) way to send in your nominations across all platforms. What does this mean for the upcoming Nomination Period?

No more using the Submission box.

When we formally post our "Get Ready!" message, it will include the links to both the Fanfiction and Fanart nomination forms.

What will the new process look like?

When you first click on either of the nomination links, you'll be shown this page:

If you're here, that means you're at the right spot! At the bottom, there will be an arrow that will allow you to move forward to the next page.

Simply type your preferred screen name (it would help if you tell us what platform you're nominating from, but isn't required), and your preferred email address. The email line will require you to fill out the entire email format. If we are unable to reach you via screenname, we will utilize your email to notify you if there are any problems with your nomination.

After filling this portion out, you will click the forward arrow to be sent to the nomination portion.

Each category will be formatted as above. All you need to do is type in the answer to the blanks. All the blanks will need to be filled out per nomination, however, you don't have to nominate for every category.

Will this process be mobile-friendly?

Yep! One of the great features of this new method is that you can easily nominate from the comfort of your phone. The link will work on your mobile device with the same exact formatting. No more trying to type everything into the submission box. Just fill out the required info!

What if I come up with a new nomination after I've already submitted the form?

No problem at all! The form allows you to submit as many times as you want. Want to send in all 30 Fanfic nominations simultaneously? Have at it! Want to send in one nomination at a time? Go for it! Get distracted and didn't finish filling it out? Your half-finished list will remain there until you submit it.

We hope this process will not only make it effortless for people to nominate in an easy fill-in format, but also allow people outside the tumblr media to nominate works as well.

Please keep in mind, although the mod-team has been tinkering with it utilizing test data, there may be unforeseen issues that arise. We will address them as seamlessly as possible to make your experience more enjoyable.

Obviously a gamer, anime watcher, otaku. You can't get a better candidate for ridiculous screentime.

For reading, why else? I kid; he's obviously binging funny cat videos in between reading novels and textbooks.

Can spend more than 36 hours straight reading if he finds a series he can't put down.

For pure socials. He spends 8 hours per day updating his pictures and chattering with fans. Of course, this also supports his modeling gig.

Caps his screentime at 9 hours, since he usually hits the 8 hour mark around his bedtime. The last hour is exclusively reserved for MC.

Mostly to text his brothers, but there are the occasional sports matches and food prep videos mixed in there.

Sometimes leaves his phone on while looking at recipes. He already knows how to make the food, so the phone just stays on without him looking at it.

Like his twin, mainly uses it to text his brothers. Unlike his twin, however, Belphie has spikes of activity rather than a constant stream.

welcome to welcome home started as a pretty scrappy personal project, and tbh it still is. there's not a whole lot you'll need, but off the top of my head the base requirements would be:

as you've said, at least a Basic understanding of html/css. i did Not have this when i first started welcome to welcome home and It Shows; i learned in real time by playing with the parameters of the template i used. (side note: if whoever ends up getting the site wants to give it a makeover and has the skills to do so, i will Not be opposed to it. bonus points if they find a way to make it more mobile-friendly.)

At least Phoebe was happy, all smiles in her uniform and pigtails. And that made the morning Roy would be spending fighting his way back out of the parking lot worth being the person on drop-off duty today.

“I could get one of the two of you if you like.”

Roy turned his head. You smiled at him, looking like the last bit of summer in your dress and white sneakers. He felt something in his stomach lurch and wondered if he looked as red as he felt.

You offered a small wave to his niece. “Phoebe, right? I’ll be your teacher this year.” You offered your name and a handshake to the girl; Roy liked the way you seemed to treat her like a tiny adult, rather than like a toddler, the way some teachers did. “And you’re her uncle Roy, right?”

He shook your extended hand, amazed by how soft it felt in his. “Yeah. That’s me.”

“Lovely to meet you.” You gestured towards the phone that he clutched like a life preserver. “How about that photo then?”

Roy handed it over and crouched down next to Phoebe, wrapping his arm around her, offering a real smile. You quickly snapped a couple of shots before handing back his phone.

“Hopefully there’s a couple of good ones in there,” you murmured, doing your best not to stare too hard at the football star.

He didn’t bother looking at them. “I’m sure there are.”

Realizing that you were, indeed, staring at Roy Kent, you cleared your throat. “Right. Well, I’ll let you say your goodbyes.” You turned to Phoebe, plastering on that teacher smile, the bright, friendly one that you’d practiced in the mirror that morning. “And I will see you in a bit.”

As you turned to speedwalk to your classroom so you could try to remember how to breathe before facing twenty-four eight-year-olds, you heard your name called in a deliciously gruff voice. When you glanced over your shoulder, Roy was looking at you.

He took a step closer to close the space between you. “If you need anything this year, let me know. I’d love to help.” He cleared his throat. “My sister works a lot, but I’m available. To help, I mean.” He shrugged. “I’ll be coaching the girls’ football team, but seriously. Fucking- shit, sorry- effing field trips or class parties. Whatever.” He pulled his wallet out and opened it, plucking out a business card; he made a mental note to thank Keeley for making him get some. “My email’s there. Phone number too. Anything you need at all.” He let his eyes drift briefly over your figure before settling back on your face. “Gimme a call.”

Suddenly trembling, you took the business card from him. “Oh. Wow. Thank you, er, Coach Kent.” Your smile felt too big, too annoying. “I’ll see you around.”

You spun around, desperate to get away from those eyes and that leather jacket. Your fingertips tingled when you heard that deep voice hum, “Looking forward to it.”

It was going to be a long year.
