Citroën 2CV Pré Série, 1948. The 2CV is 75 years old this week (October 7) having been introduced at the 35th Paris Motor Show (Paris Mondial de l'Automobile). It had literally been designed to traverse a ploughed field carrying a basket full of eggs on the passenger's seat without breaking them. Citroën Vice-President Pierre Boulanger wanted to motorise the large number of French farmers still using horses and carts. It remained in production until 1990

 Ferrari 500 Mondial Spider, 1954. The wreckage of a rare Ferrari has sold at auction for $1.875 million. The car was raced during the 1950 and passed through a number of owners until the mid 1960s when it was crashed and burned. Fast forward 60 years and what's left of one of only 13 Mondial Spiders ever made has crossed the block at RM Sotheby’s Monterey Car Week auction. The intentions of the new owner are unclear, they could spend several millions more to have the car restored or keep the wreak as is for its historical significance.
