alright I’m officially giving up trying to unfuck whatever is going on with my youtube channel monetization after the 5th ambiguous message from youtube itself and all I can do is wait it out (after no one told me what was going on previous messages til the latest message saying there’s invalid traffic on one of my videos but not state which one or why it’s my fault). in the meantime I bumped all my ‘cute’ longplays at the top of each of my playlists and NoPlays that didn’t fit with any of the other themes I go through. usually that’s the stuff I stream for February but instead will take an extended break while I focus more on Patreon and the next videomix I’ve been meaning to make anyways 🤠 when I get back on youtube though I’m gonna fuck with the algorithm if that’s how it wants to be with trendy taglines being half the battle to making a well crafted thought out played out mix 🤡

yall rly just are not getting what i had said in my original ask at all. like none of yall understand.

first of all, i can complain about it. thats what i did. i complained about it. let me explain this in a way that can make sense as to why im so upset about it.

imagine that regularly, every month for 2-3 years, you are given a piece of candy. now all of a sudden, youre being forced to pay for the candy. why do you have to pay for the candy? its always been free before so why now? it cant be because of a financial crisis, because the person supplying you has a steady income and makes more money than you have or probably will see in your whole life. i think its pretty fucking fair to be upset about it.

i dont expect it to change, i dont expect anyone to do anything about it. i dont expect everyone to understand, but god fucking damn it, i have grown up having even basic human fucking needs deprived of me because money is stupid and evil and yeah, yanno what, i think im entitled to being a little upset when yet Another Thing is being taken from me because i cant afford to give a rich white man money. no its not serious, i get that. but i dont know why me voicing that im upset about something automatically makes me childish and immature and apparently, according to past responses, a fucking loser who has no friends.

idk man. money is the root of all evil or whatever and i hate paying for art in general because its stupid that anyone even has the need to charge money for art or slap any kind of monetary value on it. i get that it sounds like im whining, but the way that i look at it, this kind of feeling for me runs a lot deeper than “i cant have my favorite content bc it costs money”

its very much a “its stupid that anyone should have to pay for these kinds of things because art shouldnt be monetized period but we live in a world where its Needed and that pisses me the fuck off because I HATE MONEYYYYYY I HATE ITTTTTT “ kind of thing lmao

like yall know how everyone is mad at streaming services for making you pay more for less shit when it used to be included in what you get??? its the same kind of vibe for me. why would i ever pay money for something that was free for half its existence or whatever lmao

idk i dont think anyone will really understand unless you grew up the way i did. its cool. its whatever. just maybe dont fucking attack me for complaining about financial situations/the ridiculous roundabout ways i have to go about getting shit that used to be free.

im not even mad about Erik himself being the one to do it. im mad that anyone does it. you should not force anyone to pay for shit that used to be free. shit should not cost more after time goes on. because none of it makes any fucking sense and money is stupid and grrrrrer whateverrrrrrr whateverrrrr it doesnt mattererrrrrrrr (thx to mod priest for putting up with all this btw love u dude, ur a pillar in this community truly and u see some of the worst shit that this fandom says and big props to you. i wont be commenting on this any further just for your sake tbh. much love, thank you for everything you do dude)

Hello! You are most welcome! Let's see what painting you picked. You have "Water Lilies" (1908).

Reading: Upon first look of this one, I get a sense of serenity. The reflection of the foliage in the distance is seen in the water with the lily pads. Though, even if there is beauty present I get the vibe that there is more under the surface. An uncertainty and fear present. A depth that is put off and a hesitancy to go in. Everything on top looks beautiful but what lurks beneath is the concern. I will say, if that is a fear, dip a toe in at first because a plunge into a pond may end up deep as an ocean. Overall, the key bit is an uncertainty of what lies underneath, and advice to go slow. Don't cannonball in just yet. Take a breath and think before you decide to.

I have a lot of issues with this book of essays, all of which derive from its inability to decide what it is and what it’s trying to say.

There are underpinnings of what has the potential to be strong feminist theory: “In my early twenties, it had never occurred to me that the women who gained their power from beauty were indebted to the men whose desire granted them that power in the first place.”

I think that excerpt carries a lot of power. I think it becomes even more interesting when contextualized with the bits and pieces of her childhood she chose to tie to it. For example, not only did Emrata know she was beautiful at a young age, she knew certain parts of her - her body, her beauty, her sex appeal - were things she could monetize. She objectified her own body so that she might commodify it. There is a certain degree of autonomy in doing so, but at what cost? And to what extent? After all, to commodify the female body in this day and age - NFTs aside - IS to objectify it.

But instead of adding her inimitable perspective to the overall concept, Emrata spends too much of the book on the “my parents told me I would have to work twice as hard because I was hot” line of thinking. There are so, so many people all over the world who have to work twice as hard - three, five, ten times as hard - because of oppression or bias or discrimination or prejudice. I therefore find it extremely difficult to summo sympathy for anyone claiming to feel oppressed from “pretty privilege.”

But I haven’t lived Emrata’s experience and am not here to question the validity of it. While I don’t doubt she has been treated differently in certain circles because she is internationally recognized first and foremost as a Hot Girl™️, I personally am not interested in reading an entire book about it. Nor do I think writing a book about it is a radical feminist act.

And so, I am torn. Emrata clearly wants to speak to women everywhere, but 70% of this book was so out of touch it’s laughable she purported to do so in the first place. I’m kind of let down and annoyed, which is exactly why I *usually* avoid celebrity books🤠
