Does anyone hear think about the emotion emulator lore because it is. FASCINATING to me. I HAVE CLIPS OF WHAT I MEAN -> (1, 2, 3) (obsessed with that last one, btw)
justin says that mepad sort of “rewrites” his coding/programming so he can feel more emotion, so what I’M curious about is if other meeple products can do this too .
like, was he only able to do this because he was built with an advanced emotion emulator with “limits” he was able to break or something, or could any meeple products do this? Or- probably more realistically- only ones with emulators?
i feel like it really depends on how artificial intelligence really works here. like, is this similar to the wild robot in which if emotions were needed for a task/mission they could develop them or are we quite literally limited to what they Have?
.

i think one of my favourite bits of trivia about astro boy is that the three laws of robotics don't exist because Asimov's books were published around the same time Tezuka wrote Ambassador Atom, and he had so many people asking him if he had taken inspiration from his books that he had to make an afterword in one of the chapters clarifying he had no idea who that was or what the books were about which is why in astro boy, robots really have no issue harming and killing humans
anyways I bring this up because I just think it's funny that you could canonically ask Tenma what the three laws of robotics are and he'd probably say 'fuck if i know'

So there's this webserial called 'worm' about a world where superpowers started suddenly showing up in the 70's, and I'm trying so hard to think of a way to merge it with the stans-and-fidds 70s-and-80s plot events. The thing is, powers are caused by going through a traumatic event, and the powers are tied to both that event and to the person's various issues in ways that sometimes seems cruelly ironic. So you see my dilemma here, with there being so many options for events that could've given these guys powers
#godsrambles#fidds is easy: within worm's power classification system he'd be a tinker#which is where you get a superpowered understanding of how to create things that would otherwise be impossible#e.g. making killer robots far more advanced than current science is capable of#if working on the portal was what gave him powers though...... he could either get tinker powers specifically related to making portals#or if it was the greloblin then somethjng related to memory erasing#for stan. idk what would be the most upsetting. shapeshifting restricted to looking like other humans probably.#great for evading the law and for pretending to be ford for 30 years though#oh maybe ford would get precognition. ability to see hundreds of potential futures#maybe in combination with no longer needing to sleep. able to trap himself in literally endless rumination as he tries to figure out-#-how to stop bill#none of these are the Fun Flashy kind of powers though. stan would have fun with fire powers#oh wait. even worse for stan: powers that evoke leeches. able to temporarily steal or drain powers from others or something#or able to copy others' powers permanently in a weaker form than the original power. and he can have multiple weak powers at a time#in this world the mob would have powered folks in it of course so maybe a situation involving them could cause that power#OR. if his powers happened in the aftermath of the portal incident.#ability to teleport anything and anyone within his line of sight directly to him.#he'd be mad for 30 years straight about not getting that power before ford fell through the portal#that or the ability to summon common tools out of nowhere. such as a long rope#idk the powers are always very specific. pretty sure no one following me knows what worm is.#but you can at least appreciate the exercise of thinking up what powers would deal the most psychic damage to these guys

With more older anime I watch that’s specifically about androids the more I noticed all the influence mega man pulled from it despite it not being a anime nor the robot timeline ever getting a proper anime but I think what gets me more then “the basis of mega man is like astro boy, casshern and POSSIBLY kikaider all in a blender with mega man x making the second two inspos more apparent” is realizing how many villain characters inspired proto man.
You have the obvious one, char from Gundam, you have rock holmes from Astro boy who’s not a confirmed one but seems to track given classic takes a lot of Astro boy influence and then you have Saburo from Android kikaider, the most likely inspo for proto in EVERY category- and then you remember how while these characters are evil for a complex reason, proto man really shines to be different as he changed his ways. He’s still a rival to his “brother” in a sense but bass takes more of the role of the evil mega man, while proto just watches from afar and comes in to help when he thinks he’s needed.
I’m going to rotate this red robot fuck for awhile again FUCK

anyway back to thinking about fionna and cake for the night because simon compels me
#random thoughts#adventure time#petribell compels me...#honestly the idea of this fifty sixty something man busting it down with a thirty something and THAT being what fixes him???#like the opposite of what usually happens#usually this would be a midlife crisis but his life is already so goddamn weird#this would be like the most normal thing he could do#it's so fucking funny like hold on#like i appreciate the jokes ive seen about simon being like a fucking horndog??? have yall seen those#just like elizabethian levels of 'this man has not fucked in centuries'#i do think that if simon and fionna got together it would very much be a 'rpg hero and his besotted wife keeping the home' dynamic#simon IS a house husband. he fucking gardens. knits.#no wait hold on how fucking funny if in the new season they address how simon is so fucking old he's gonna die like sooner rather than later#how advanced is their medical technology regarding old world humans and would simon use it#cuz like simon is human classique. his medical needs are likely very different from other future humans. even finn!#how long do humans live. are they gonna give simon a bonkers robot body#anyway how funny would it be if simon somehow got deaged and THEN he and fionna get together#marceline's just like 'you boyified my dad???'#btw if simon and fionna arent physically in the same room in the next season like at all ill be so mad#like at least have them message each other once per episode i live for their fucked dynamic#anways simon has like ten twenty years tops#will they address it or will they just like casually stay in the timeline where they don't have to think about it#DID WE SEE SIMON IN THE DEATH WORLD IN TOGETHER AGAIN#like full on i think they'll somehow make simon immortal#he will somehow deage it'll be weird#they'll do a too young it'll be great#fionna being into simon is in character for her btw as far as finns go#they're into older people like as a species#boing

Tbh, I feel like Algorithm would try to erase Akane's memories out of Sora under the misguided belief that they're a "virus" or an "error" that she needs to take away to make sure the both of them can fulfill their mission to serve Mikado and "protect" Yuki.
(Sora obviously would be horrified about that and would try to stop her)
And, because she's an algorithm with just two things programmed into her, she doesn't have any free will nor capability to change, so no matter if she dislikes the idea of Mikado putting the "virus" called "Akane's memories" on her, she wouldn't be able to stop him, because the only thing she can do is to fulfill each and every command he gives her, like the perfect slave.
(In short, Algorithm is a bit like taking Akane's role as "The Ultimate Maid" to its most extreme extreme, in the process turning her into a mindless machine that only exist to follow orders, no matter how horrible they are)
//A perfect analogue why you need to be careful with AI as the most destructive AI might be following their programming but they take it way too far.
//A bit like Auto from WALL-E, who is merely following his programming, but because of the dogmatic refusal to change, he is the main antagonistic force.
//But yeah like I said there’s no malice in the Algorithm because at the end of the day, she is just following her programming. But as far as Sora is concerned it’s a fate worse than death.
